you enjoyed your holiday break. If you had one, if not, hope you enjoyed it anyway. Here's to hopefully a marginally better 2022. Fingers crossed. Let's see. Before we begin, please keep in mind this actual play is intended for mature audiences. It contains elements of supernatural horror, violence, adult language, sexual situations within your heart, substance abuse, and more. We are getting into a particularly dark scenario. There will be elements of violence, stalking, that kind of thing. So please keep that in mind. If any of those are troubling, you know, we recommend that maybe tune this one out. But however, just know that before we actually delved into this scenario, before I even started developing it, we went through safety checklists

to everybody here and make sure they were good to go. Double check to ensure this wasn't going to be too troubling for the players, because obviously we don't want to make them uncomfortable. That was going to be my sister's name, but no, they changed it. Sergio, my friend, if you would take it away with the recap. Sure. Note to self, don't bother Cross with any more updates. If you want something from me, I'm sure he'll make it perfectly clear. We were given another two weeks of downtime after our zoo job,

and in that time, ingratiating myself into Crucible 12 has become easier. In the beginning, I could tell they were repulsed by me. Perhaps I came on too strong. I'm not a bad person. I just died that way. My revised tactics seem to be more efficient. Combined with Abner's bumbling approach to leadership, I think they're coming to trust me. In time, I believe I can shape all of them into their best versions. Logan and Colette organized a get together and spent most of it complaining about work. The living are so full of fear. I see it now, and it manifests in the most unusual ways. Logan's eagerness to prove themselves, Colette's tortured, artistic process. Their fear is a useful tool in their manipulation,

but nonetheless, I still feel touched that they included me. Nikoa has also shown a willingness to collaborate. She introduced me to her patron, a madam butu. They offered to help me find a mouth of it, and, well, after my awkward encounter with Jerome, I figured why not. Butu had no request of me, but if she's anything like Cross, they'll come a hefty price. But that game is a lot riskier for the living. I didn't get a chance to spend much time with Viv, but I heard she spent most of it honing her skills as a poltergeist. That one is fashioning themselves into a weapon, and I suspect it will only take a small push in the right direction to cause a lot of devastation. Mia also spent

some of her time away from the Crucible, but she surprised me during our job at the Zoo. She offered me a riddle. I took it as a kind of truce. It was a trifle, but it's the thought that counts. Speaking of riddles, I have a new one to contend with. The old fart, Abernathy, has Cross aligned, and is actively attempting to undermine me. No doubt he is intimidated by me and sees the murder of that lacky Chad as somehow my fault. If Lavinia were alive, I know what she'd do. The plans she would enact to destroy his life, like so many of the men that Cross her before. But a complication has arisen in the form of Colette. Kind. Creative. Herding. Lavinia would be helpless against her influence. Moved by her empathy. Maybe even moved enough

to forgive Adnor. But here lies the crux of my riddle. I am not Lavinia. You see, it's a theory I dare not say out loud to the others. It formed as I studied our first specter, Chris Allen, the city electrician. He followed a set pattern, reenacting those tragic last moments of his life, never deviating unless the parameters around him were altered. In programming terms, he was like a bot. An NPC in a game. Unable to change. I wonder how I'm any different. How am I not just a manifestation of pure instinct? Emotions running on inertia. My consciousness simply is a byproduct of a sod. Lavinia wasn't static. She could change. She could grow. But I fear forgiveness is a concept maybe only for the living. Sometimes I wish I could share these thoughts with the others,

with Nikola and Viv especially. I want to tell them that I I know what we are. I want to scream at Viv and remind her she doesn't have to get revenge. We're above such earthly desires now. I want to shake Nikola out of her stupor and remind her what it's like to not be so tired all the time. But even if I did, I don't think they'd be able to do much about it. Because they are like me. Small as an ant, big as a whale. Dancing to the music though we can't hear. And from us you can't run. What are we? Shadows. I've made it to the finish line and perhaps my purpose is to help everyone catch up. Maybe that's my tether. When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.

I shouldn't be here and when I really think about it, I'm not. But who cares to hear the lament of a ghost? That's it. God damn. Yeah, take an extra experience point there. Yeah. not. I think as long as we don't scare anyone to death, I think that's fine, right? Yeah. We just felt confident. We find like a frat party or something and then we have our way with it. I'm down to scare frat boys. Yes. Yes. I think one frat party please. Okay. Are there colleges in the world we're at? There are indeed. Okay. Yep. So I think maybe we tarry one of those.

How do we call in the grown-ups on Logan is saying this out loud? How do we call in the grown-ups on this? Because like we're technically grown-ups, but like they're mature and do we need maturity to to get into a frat party? I think well, no, but like we wanted them to come. That was like the point was that we all were in the frat like at the not the frat party, the Halloween party. Right. I mean, we don't have to. I just feel bad if we left them out twice. And like I know the first time was my fault that we left them out, but oh, we were going to invite them make it sound boring or something they're not interested in. And then if they opt in, they're in and then if they don't, then that's fine.

Amazing. Cool. So we so we let what Abner and Nikola know about it and just really downplay it. Yeah. Yeah. I think that's the best course of action. So who is here? Is it is it just? Where are you? That's real inventive. It's clever. Fuck you. I have, I have something in my disposal. I'm not going to go out and get something else. Yeah. I totally get it. You're going to like it when you see it. Yeah. Why would you want to be creative? I get it. All right, artist. What are you going to be? I don't know. Oh, you don't know? I was, well, I'm going to do something. I'll tell you that much. He does always come to that misty look when he looks at those pictures. I really liked Mount Rainier when I was in fourth grade, but he really likes Mount Rainier. What would that costume look? Do you just buy a t-shirt or like a poster and just put it on? Just, I was thinking like paper mache. Like, okay, but like this isn't like two days, right? Are you going to make a mountain in two days? You buy some chicken wire and you cover yourself with paper mache. You do have to sleep still. But it's like a party though. You also have to like be able to like.

We're overthinking this. I'm going to be drunk anyway. It'll be no big deal. We call. We go. I'm very cold. How do each of you, do you all like go with us or are you out? I'm probably going to stay. Levinia, you go to Orpheus, of course, to. Yeah, I manifest and I also make sure that a few people see me before I approach Adder's office. And I'll just, you know, I'll walk in, pretend like nothing's happened, and invite him to the party.

We're all haunting the party. I drove my car, I parked it,

and I'm sleeping in my car. So there's a passed out person dressed as a firefighter in their car outside this party. Oh my God. I'm not regretting it yet, I promise. So I'm not in front of the party. I'm like, sure, around the corner or like up the hill. Yeah, no, I got you. I got you. Are you in the front seat? You put yourself in the trunk. That's a good idea. Oh, sure. Yeah, that's great. I don't know how Jason Carl kept a straight face the entire time through his entire play of LA by night. I don't know. I'm trying to be more like Jason Carl Robb. Like all, all seven of us are like, so everybody's fighting. So we're getting, so you all are getting messed up at a frat party in public. I didn't say it was a frat party. I just said it was a gathering of lots of people and lots of music and lots of drinking. All right, hold on. I'm just, I'll be there. Just don't tear it up,

I need to make a distinction about looking like a firefighter, because it's not the full firefighter outfit. It's, it's the pants and the jackets tied around my waist, but like just like really tight, short crop top, sleeveless, short, tight crop top to show off abs and also arms. That's what they would know. Vince, I understand that you just said no.

Is there any chance I can like manipulate the system to be a ghost form? Because I don't see how else Amdur is going to do this. Right. So, so the issue is you'd be out for at least probably a week because it takes time to put someone under and then bring them back out. So I mean, listen, if you want to try to work your, use your status, we could definitely, Can I, can I, because I kind of been living in that state anyway. That's, that's true. Like I was there like the whole last game. You were down. But if you want me to make a roll, yeah, let's do a status roll. I'll do that. Let's do status plus manipulation. Oh, that'll be your poll. But yeah, you, you are, you're put under, you're able to manifest. We need to have some kind of signal like, you know, Viv take control of the DJ system and play a song or something to let us know it's time. And it sounds great. Okay. Okay. Okay. Well, I am going to do my thing, which is I'll probably take over somebody's body and start having like ride and flip around all over the room like a maniac.

Just be creepy and wail, but like in a creepy way, not like super scary way, just like, hey, there's monsters in the closet or some shit. I don't know. Abner, make the like the lights turn on and off and stuff. I'm already the house. I'm going to be, um, Logan, you said monsters in the closet. Yeah. Okay. I'm going to start fucking with the closet. I assume this is like the coat check coats everywhere. Yes. Cool. Nicola. What are you going to do? Yeah. I'm just, I'll pull a cigarette out and light a cigarette.

Looking to somebody's future and tell them something bad about it. Oh, tell someone when they're going to die. You don't even have to. It doesn't have to be real. It's almost too much. No, tell someone when they'll be born, find a drunk person and tell them their new birthday and just let that play. Or just manifest in front of somebody, you know? Is that I'm all for a little team bonding exercise, but please don't do anything that's going to get this in the papers. As long as we're not seen, it's fine. Can't argue with that logic. that's just right there. That's my costume is just that drinking. And then if anyone's smoking, I'm just kind of like whatever. I'm like, if anyone approaches me, I'll tell them gruesome stories of my war times. If not, I'm just kind of just making sure they don't burn the house down. So there are a couple of comments of what's the boomer doing here kind of thing. Boomer, hold on. No, no, no, no, no, no. I ain't no boomer. That's a different campaign. I know, but there are a couple of guys who I would say that would check them. They're trying to holler. So what's what's me as a reaction? Because this is a drunk frat party. Okay, wait, how's that supposed to impress me?

Collette has moved from the first floor pretty much immediately to the second floor because before she was sober, she used to steal drugs at house parties. Right. Now she can't do that. So she's instead trying to steal the most valuable thing this front house has. Awesome. And she's

dressed as a very slutty Salvador Dali. Beautiful. You actually find a Rolex, one of these douchey fat boys whose parents probably have more money than you know what to do with who probably have a hall named after them just so we could get in. Clearly, I like fraternities. You lift a Rolex, it's nice. Beautiful. Who else? Where else is everybody? I'm just in the middle of the dance floor waiting for my cue. I'm everywhere. So you possess the house, correct? Yes, Vitality. Let's do this. Okay, here we go. It's a scotch. It's a scotch. We attract Hellhounds because of this. I'd say you'd need to spend this is a larger house. So you would need to spend five Vitality. Yeah, and then go ahead and roll your, actually, yeah, no dice rolls required. So for

five Vitality, you are in the house. Logan is floating around tripod. What'd you say? Nothing. Oh, no. You are very low on my end. I don't know if you got super quiet all of a sudden. Carry on. There's like a little group of three that are smoking something and one like this smack in his body is like. I'm gonna go up and like am I am I about on par with height with them? Yes. Yep. I'm gonna get just about nose to nose with one of them and just keep staring in his eyes

and slowly just manifest like the smallest amount I can. So it looks like I'm on fire a little bit like instead of the the drowny version, it's a lot of like smokey wispy charred. Not fully, just like the barest hint of it and then I'll stop it. He is frozen and his eyes and his buddies are, you notice her bloodshot. They are frozen and you smell the scent of urine as one pisses himself. Yes. But they don't move. They are, they are, they are, they have gone past fight and flight and they are in straight up freeze. Freeze. Yeah. Happy Halloween. They book it out of the house. Good. Good. I think Logan immediately feels a little bit guilty about it. Yeah. Yeah. Lavinia, Lavinia sees that and goes over and probably says to Logan,

I think it was pigment that they were on. Oh, yeah. That's why they could see you. Right. I forgot that's a thing. Yeah. It's a hell of a drug. Did you, have you, have you used it? Oh, yes. You could say that. At least when I was alive. Could you see like, you know? Yeah. I saw a lot. Wow. I think it's why I'm a hue, actually, as opposed to a regular ghost. That makes sense. Does it like, I don't know. I can't get a read on how you feel about it. Well, when you're on it, it's amazing, but I'm a shell of a ghost. So I don't know. I guess it has its drawbacks that I wasn't aware of. Is it worth it? Probably not.

spend vitality. You take control of the DJ booth and the DJ kind of, who goes by the name DJ Bluntz. Yes, well made y'all. Kind of like hands up, like he's like wondering what's going on as he sees his mouse moving and shit and all of a sudden the bodies at the floor and swags start playing at the same time. Oh, and it's not mixed well. It's literally two songs playing at the same time. There's a lot of booze. There's a lot of booze going on, like and get the fuck off the stage kind of thing. But yeah, the signal has been as the music kicks in. Lavinia is going to find the most blonde bimbo that she could find the one that seems like, you know, she's, she's head of her

fraternity or sorority. Excuse me. I always get them mixed up and I will attempt to inhabit her for the scene. So I think I'm going to have to spend two vitality. So well, actually, so with your vitality, vitality expenditure drives the extent of control. The successes drive how long you actually manage. Oh, okay, okay, gotcha. So yeah, two vitality to enjoy full control of the target's body. Yep. And then what do I need to roll? So you will roll charisma plus leadership. The willpower is a difficulty, but she's blasted. So difficulty probably isn't going to be high. So we'll say that we'll say difficulty five. Yeah. All right. It's not a complete failure.

Mr. Shaw and his buyers have been stalking her constantly. Authorities looked into it, but the mostly did was give a restraining order against Mr. Shaw. Shaw is 45 years old, white male. He's been investigated for numerous drug and fraud related offenses, but never convicted. He is a known pigment addict, believed to have several men in his employ. He considers himself the drug lord of Denver. He has a residence at 18 Bewell Mansion Parkway in Cherry Hills Village here in Denver, just south of the city. Cherry Hills. For those of you not from around here, that's kind of the

hoity, toyty, wealthy section of the city where all the more affluent residents live. We did some initial reconnaissance on his residence. It's a large multi-acre secluded lot. His home is at the end of a cul-de-sac. There's a kill zone of about 100 yards surrounding the house. A group of four attack dogs at full run of the grounds, two levels in a basement, five full bathrooms, eight bedrooms, 10 bodyguards at the house at any given time. Are we to leave the anyone else we might find on the scene unharmed or can we go a little nuts? Limit collateral damage as much as possible. Your mission is solely to ensure Mr. Shaw no longer bothers Ms. Blair. How you accomplish that is up to you.

Who's requesting our services? Is it Blair? We suspect she may be a pigment user as well, but she is not the objective. When you reiterate, you are not to investigate Ms. Blair. You are to investigate Mr. Shaw. Do we have access to any of our inventory or is that also off the books? I can likely get you some equipment if you need it. Take the opportunity to record any interactions between Shaw and his men with you or any other ghosts. Make sure to protect your identities and if you can secure a sample, do so.
