I know, Allegra, you just had a stream last night. Yeah. Last night, I got to play Savage World for the first time, which was fucking rad. I'm playing in the Monster Hunters Club setting, which is like in the 80s, Goonies-y. Nice. Time with Candice Magnificent as a GM on Todd Moonbounce's channel.

It was so fun. I love being a stupid 80s kid. It's great. We're going for the next two Fridays. So if you catch it Friday at 5, 5 Pacific, 8 Eastern. And we just wrapped the story of Crew 1, the Quartet in Orbital Blues, and Crew 2 is getting ready to launch, I believe, next Saturday, right, Eli? Yes. We've got, what else we got coming up? I know we'll probably be wrapping this chapter of Orpheus within the next session or two. We'll be bringing Don't Look Back to a Close, Chapter 1, and then we'll begin Chapter 2 at a later date, hopefully, if you all want it back. And then we'll be looking at potentially Caleb's next project. What do we got? So this summer, Mayday is going to bring you Vegas by night, the Vampire the Masquerade campaign that we've been cooking up for you guys. So keep a lookout for that. We hope to start early June streaming out for that, but look for more information once we do an official post.

Hell yeah. But yeah, look out for it. Vegas by night, we're going to be some spooky vampires. Love it. I'm not going to be a spooky vampire. I'm going to be a regular everyday vampire. That is incredible. I guess with that, without further ado, let's get to work.

I'll take care of the recap since it's been so long. I don't have anything super cool written up, but I'm just going to give you a down and dirty rundown of what exactly happened last time since it's been a minute. So long story short, the group, the crucible decided to go to the club inhale and downtown Denver to try to make contact with Coleman Shaw, their target for this off the books operation. The group was mainly Colette, Lavinia, Logan and Viv. Our spirits went manifested so they appeared human. Nikoa stayed in her in her ghost form stayed de manifested. Mia and Abner were pursuing some other investigative leads at the time. Collette used her influence and her true name to essentially say hey, I'm this awesome local artist.

I want to check out the club and was able to kind of sweet talk her way inside with with the group and they they inevitably drew Shaw's attention while sneaking around Nikoa seem to draw the attention at least one pigment user in the club. And then when she went up to Shaw's office to kind of get the lay of the land. She met Lorenzo Rivas, who is Coleman Shaw's bodyguard who seemed to be able to perceive her in her presence in that office. The group is eventually invited up to that office. Shaw dismissed everyone with the exception of Collette, including Rivas even asked Rivas to leave and then Collette and Shaw kind of talked made plans to meet up the next day. Things were going swimmingly. And then Abner and Mia stole Shaw's SUV from behind the club. And so when Rivas went out there to fuck off as kindly requested by by Shaw he realized it was missing and charged back inside to essentially tell the boss that his car was gone.

Immediately the crucible jumped in action to try to keep Collette safe. And I believe it was Lavinia or no Logan who attacked Rivas tried to keep him from from going up there. The the the it was just chaos was his downhill from there folks. Lots of fisticuffs Lavinia possessed a guard there was an exchange of gunfire. Viv manifested and made a ghost gun and just popped off some rounds pop pop in the club. And it was a little community reference. No, maybe. All right.

No, I got it. Okay. All right. Lots of lots of chaos, lots of fighting. They discovered that there was definitely more to Rivas than they initially perceived. He was able to heal wounds. He was pretty naturally strong. There was a lot wrong with this picture.

It was clear that at the time at least a crucible may have been outmatched. So at the time they're just trying to keep him at bay while Shaw and Collette bounce out of the club. And after a certain point Collette and Shaw separated and Shaw got back into another SUV. Super confusing, right? But then the coa phased in to keep him company and try to execute the mission. Eventually she decided to phase out of the vehicle use whale and essentially created this massive car accident that resulted in Shaw being thrown from the vehicle. And then she kind of did the shh thing and fucking smothered him to death and now he's dead. Cops stormed into the club.

Lavinia jumped out of the guard that she had skin road. Him and Rivas were both arrested and the rest of the group jumped into Logan's SUV and made their escape. And that's essentially where we're at. So the crucible is making its way back to the motel that they were kind of staging out of for this off the book operation. And then Mia and Abner also probably would have gotten back to the hotel sooner since they, you know, stole the fucking SUV and drove it back to the hotel. Can I point out that we are not parking it outside the hotel? I did not think you were. Thank you.

I just need to emphasize that. Yes. Right out the gate. Of course. Absolutely. Totally understood. So with that, let's start with Mia and Abner. You were on your way back to the motel with this SUV.

What did you end up doing? What's the plan? I think we were just going back to the hotel to wait for the others, right? Okay. We were. That's it. Got it. We don't know.

We don't know what's going on unless someone wants to. Yeah, you really don't. Yeah. You know, speaking of which, so Nicola, I believe you are not with the main group. Where are you headed? Shit. I need to get somewhere. I don't know where to go.

I don't know how far I am away, but I think the first thing Nicola is going to try to do while she's still a little manifested is maybe find a pay phone of some kind. And call Batu and ask for somebody to come get her at this location or in a reasonable location where she can de-manifest and just wait there. Got it. Okay. And I believe you did de-manifest after, because you needed to make your getaway. Yes. After you smoked Shaw because there were so many people that were gathering around the accident scene. So I think you dropped form and we're spectral at that point.

Okay. Yeah. You can say you can manifest easily, pick up the phone, make your phone call. All right. Yeah. Madame Batu is more than willing to get you a ride. So it'll be a little bit, but there's a car coming for you. Okay.

Yeah. I'll just be waiting there. Awesome. And the team in Logan's Jeep, which is Logan, Viv, Lavinia, and Colette. What's the game plan? Going to the hotel? Yeah. Yeah.

That's probably the best. Okay. When you, does anybody talk in the car at all? Or is it just kind of silently processing what went down? I think I asked if anyone knows where Co is. She was with me. And then she followed Shaw in the vehicle. We probably don't know that she completed the mission, do we?

You don't. She ghosted in just to follow him. I mean, it's Koa. She'll come back. Okay. One way or another, we'll get back in contact with her. Yeah. Cause I think, I know that, like you were saying, Rivas maybe can see her, but Rivas isn't with

him. So maybe that's the last line of defense. That remist is a whole other topic. Yeah. Give her some time to check on her in like an hour or so. How do we even check on her? She's not, she didn't have a phone or anything. She's been a ghost for a while.

She'll know what to do. It's Koa. She's like competent. Yeah. I guess that's true. Yeah. She wouldn't do anything too crazy. Right?

Yeah. We'll call Mallory. You're not Mallory. Wrong campaign. Wrong campaign. We'll call Kate. We'll call Kate. Too many moms.

Too many moms. Too many moms. Too many moms. Too many moms. We know. And that actually brings up a good point. I will say, Koa, you probably have to stay manifested to keep the pigment that you took.

Yeah. So I'll stay manifested then if that's the case. If I have to do that to get the pigment. Got it. Okay. So with that, Mia Abner, you're kind of killing in the room. Just waiting. Do you all have like the TV on?

Do you all have like a radio going? What's the plan? What's it look like in there as you two are just awkwardly waiting? I'm in like ghost form. I believe correct. So it's like, can't get snacks. Can't do anything. I'll pop on the TV.

I'm going to become the TV. Yeah. Actually, I think you were solid. And I think Abner was sleeping. Oh, sleep away, buddy. Sleep away. I'll flip through the channels. I'll have my phone, whatever is out there.

It's like, what's the time right now? It's late. It's probably pushing midnight. Midnight. Yeah. We'll put on like a, there'd be a horror movie on at that point. Like a really crappy sci-fi horror movie. I'm just waiting.

Yeah. As you're flicking through, you do, you do catch a news report about an active shooter at a local club in downtown Denver. Oh, no. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Mia, put that on. Go, go, go back, back, back, back, back. Right.

Right. And sure enough, there is a report of shots fired at the club in Hale with injuries, no deaths currently reported. Police are on scene. Paramedics and emergency services are on scene. It's chaos. Son of a bitch. How likely is it that this has nothing to do with this?

I think that question answers itself, Mia. I don't know for sure, because I don't see our faces. So. Well, let's take some solace. Oh, God, can you? We were gone for how long? We're gone that long. We left them alone for two hours.

But you're weren't there. That's where I'm confused. How could this go so bad? You know, all right. Okay. From now on, from now on, daddy never leaves. He will never, ever be called daddy in this group. I thought I'd give it the, I thought I'd take her.

I am taking that option away before even tell the others. I will stomp your ass. I will stomp your ass with an HR report if you ever say that again. Is there some kind of connotation with that that I'm missing? What the F do you think? Oh, man. This is not, we're not going down the road, sir. Okay.

Uncle Adler it is. You know what? I will take it. I can move on with that. Eventually the rest of the crucible does arrive. And you, you all work the Jeep, head up, head up to the room and find Mia and Abner waiting for you. I'm going to sit with my legs very crossed and just like arms be

like, so what did you do? I don't know. We went to the club to talk to the guy and then shit went wrong. Shit went really south, really fast. Abner, did you hear? It went south really fast. Is that what you would call it? Ow, the fuck did you screw that up?

I'm the TV, by the way. Things were going just fine to be honest with you. I don't know. It's just. That's fine. What happened? I don't know. I was up there was jaw.

I was about halfway to getting us into the mansion or at least stabbing the dude with a fucking empty syringe and it went south. His security, Rivas, he, he came back into the club and we got the impression that something bad was going to happen. So we just acted. We were thinking in the interest of Collette. Where did, where did, where did he go?

Who, Rivas? Shaw. He escaped and I think Nicole is still with him. The last time I saw him, he was going back to the mansion. He almost took me with him, but I tried to convince him otherwise. And so he's going that way and Nicole is tracking him that way. Are you okay at least? Are you guys okay?

Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just pissed we didn't get the guy. I was this close. We were priming the, I could have killed him right there. If Co is with him, we better get after her. It's. What do you think? She's not okay.

She ghosted in. She was watching and then she said she was going to come back as soon as she saw where they were going. Yeah, but these guys are on pigment. They can see her. Can they, can they hurt her? Yeah, they can hurt her. Yeah.

Okay. But we don't have any way to contact her at all. Just to come back to us. One of these days will invent ghost phones. And with that big guy out there, I mean, do we really think it's safe for us to be parading around Colorado? No, he's, there's something fucked up with him. His eyes are, there's nothing, there is nothing in that guy's eyes.

Like, like maybe he's not a guy kind of thing. Shaw seemed really scared of the guy, or at least, I don't know, it's like when you have a pit bull on a leash. Shaw was afraid of his own guy. Seemed like it. Tried to get him out of the room just to be with me. I don't know. It was, it was weird.

That guy was weird. He's like hitting a brick wall. He's nothing. He bled and then it was black and then he healed himself. He just stopped bleeding. I shot him several times. It was black. It was like blue.

It was like black goo. And I will say, You, when you, oh no, me and me, I would never be able to shoot anything, but I was inside the body of a guard. I will say with any, you recall, you actually tried to skin ride. Oh yeah, that's right. And you got the impression there was something else already inside. Yeah.

So I have a feeling there's some kind of spirit or something inside him that's more powerful than we've seen before. This is something we, we take to like, I've never really had a boss you report to and have to speak with, but this is like a situation where we tell the boss the bad thing. Right. I don't mean to not have gone reboss, but I think there's more going on here than we're aware of.

Yeah. Abner, have you ever heard anything like this? Like black eyes healing super strong super bids. Have I ever heard of anything? Yeah. You haven't personally encountered it, but you have heard of something called Jason's and Orpheus and the Orpheus lexicon,

which are individuals who have been possessed by specters. Yeah. Do you remember that old horror movie where there's the guy in the hockey mask. He's like, I'm going to kill you. You know, they didn't talk, but yeah. Friday the 13th. Yeah. Okay.

That's better than what I thought. Yeah. I have a question. Where, where were Mia and Abner? What were you doing tonight? We honestly, we didn't find really anything. We checked out the dispensary angle. We didn't really get there.

So then we thought we might take the guy's SUV and use it together into his place. Take who's SUV? Shaw. I thought we might, I thought I might try to hit him with his own car. That's what honestly the backup plan was. And if we needed to get away. Wait, wait, wait. Go ahead.

I'm sorry. No, I'm just saying if Rivas isn't in like custody now, should we like we should, we should try to act now, right? Because he's what we should do is get rid of him. Please get rid of the vehicle of a man we just killed. Yes. Where is that vehicle? He's not dead.

Around the corner. I'm a ghost. There's no fingerprints. Wait, where'd you take the SUV from the mansion? From the club. No, from the club. So both of you were at the club. We were outside.

Yes. I thought it was best for me to not go into the club because of obvious reasons. Lavinia has been this entire time like pacing the room or the, you know, the room that we're in. And she kind of stops and is like, Rivas came back in as if he was looking as if he had discovered something. He was probably going to get the car that you stole. So we had this conclusion.

I thought we would bring it up to you guys earlier. We should probably not have too many spirits in a way without communication properly because I just think I can't use a phone. Viv sits opposite of Mia with her legs crossed and arms full. I'm not saying that's an excuse. I'm just saying that's an observation. I just observed. Yes.

I'm coming to as well as that a mission which was going perfectly smooth was ruined by you two. Okay, I feel like that's okay. You need to watch your tone there. I'll watch whatever I want, Abner. Am I the only one coming to this conclusion? No, I'm with you. I like the state that we are not the responsible for this foobar. Okay.

You're not? How exactly aren't you? I don't mean to come down on people. I mean, you need to watch your tone. Yeah, I agree with that position, but how do you know? How would you know that it was even us until we told you? Some asked people could have just stolen a car. I'm sorry.

I don't know it's only us. You did it, you're not at fault? Oh, and? It sounds like we had a fantastic plan that was going well. How are we supposed to know? We didn't know. We didn't know what was going to happen again because when you have miscommunication, we should have informed you of our great

plan while you were stealing the S. Well, at the end of the day, we're not the ones that started popping off shots inside of the club on what's supposed to be a covert mission. I had to clear the club out because you should have just you should have just let them go. Go off. Look for their car.

You didn't need to. You didn't need to cause that commotion. At the end of the day, everything that happened in that club is you had a choice. You had a choice between letting things slide and we pick things up tomorrow. We had all agreed that this was an information finding mission. You had a choice and you chose to engage.

At the end of the day, this is all on you. This doesn't solve anything. We have a chance right now to go get that fucker because creepy black eyed man isn't there anymore. So we should be going on. We should be on the move. Why are we fighting about whose fault what is when we can be actually taking action to get this fucker out of the world?

We don't know any information right now. We don't know location. He's going back to his house. He doesn't have his main watch done. Yeah, I spoke to him. He said he's going back to his house. So let's fucking go. He almost took me with him.

The fortress. Because the criminal will always tell the truth. I just wanted to be clear on that. Oh, well, he wasn't lying to me. He wanted to fuck me. I was a half a second away from putting a syringe in the dude. Honey, I look at you. A lot of people want to fuck you.

They'll just say anything. Why are you talking to me like this? Like, I don't know what I'm doing. You're right. You're right. Okay, enough. Who's, who's, who's, remind me, who's ghost right now? Okay.

Who's ghost? Yeah. We have to, we have to, we have to, we have to get after this. So here's the plan. Mia, they have an eye. We'll take the, we'll take the car. We'll take the SUV. We're going to go back to the house.

We're going to use the SUV to get into the house and we're going to, we're going to finish this. Fair enough. And what about Nicola? Well, hopefully we'll find Nicola in the process. Is it the whole reason the first plan went bad? It's because we decided to split up and not use communication. No, no.

That's not why the first plan went bad. Yeah. The first plan is bad because you have a choice and you made the wrong one. Now let's get going. I don't think we're in any state to go after this guy. I don't mean to, to pipe up, but I don't think that whatever this energy is, it's not a good one for working. Suggestion really quick.

Is the TV still on? Yeah. Yeah. Is it on the channel? Is it on the channel with the news report? Yeah, the news. Yes, it is. Lorenzo Rivas's mugshot shows up on the, on the screen.

And it cuts to become, I'm guessing because it's muted. So that way, Abner can speak through it. It cuts to a scene of a flipped over patrol vehicle. Wait, hold on. Abner and turn on the volume. Yeah. So there was apparently a car accident involving a patrol vehicle and two cops were killed. And it looks like the individual who had been in the back seat escaped.

Who has been identified as. Shit. Lorenzo Rivas. Just two cops, two cops, no civilians. No civilians as of right now. God for that at least. Fuck. Abner.

What's Niko. So Niko. We'll cut to you. The vehicle does come and pick you up. And I'm guessing it's taking you back to the Batu estate in Evergreen. Yes. Yes. Please.

No, no phone calls or anything on the way. No, I don't have a phone. That's right. Yeah. Cause you're dead. Cause you're a ghost. Yeah. Okay.

Got it. The vehicle does take you back to Evergreen. Obviously it takes a minute. I forget how long the drive is, but it's a good, it's a good hike. So you're, you're on your way out of the city to the mountains. So, but that, yeah, you got a little bit of a drive ahead of you. What are you thinking about? What's going through Niko's head?

Um, I'm concerned. I'm like, I'm like trying to process it because like there's a level of detachment that I can't feel because I'm dead. Cause I can't feel anything really, but I also feel bad because I know I should feel bad. Um, but something just feels off. Something feels wrong. I'd like to forebode if I have the time to do that.

You do. Yeah. I'd say you got plenty of time. Uh, so that will be a perception plus empathy with a difficulty of six. It's four successes. Got it. And how much vitality are you spending to drive the, uh, how, how far ahead or back are you going?

I want to go ahead. I want to go a year. So I believe that's one vitality or two. Four vitality. So the field of effect extends up to one year in either direction. The last four, five turns. Uh, what's the, um, and how many successes was that? That was four.

Four. Okay. So maybe also expending, uh, another willpower so that I can, uh, I can afford that for. Got it. Okay. So that's my last willpower. Okay. Um, what's the topic?

What's the subject that you're, that you're, you're focusing on? I've been seeing visions about something that's going to happen in the future, but I don't know what the catalysts of it is. So I'm wanting to know if what happened tonight is the fuel of the catalyst that starts whatever this bad thing is about to happen. Okay. Okay. So you're back in, you're back in Hawaii, you're back with your family.

And it plays out exactly like it does the other times you blink and suddenly everyone is dead. Um, and there's more people than we're previously there. There's people that you recognize from Orpheus. There's people that you recognize from work, uh, that are laying crumbled in heaps, some shot, some burned some in pieces and hovering it above it all in the distance are these five grim reaper type figures with the sides and the cloaks and the impenetrable, impenetrable darkness in the place of their faces.

Um, and you, you reach out and you're focusing on that. Is this our fault? Is this something we did? And you try to follow the strands to a cause, a causal event, what brought this all about. And there's nothing, there's nothing. You, you, it would take you some time, maybe mulling it over, but there's nothing that you would indicate that what might happen is a direct result of what happened tonight. Even worse.

But as you start thinking about that, um, since it's a year in either direction, you go back suddenly, you're, you're yanked back from that scene and you begin thinking, is this our fault? What's going to happen? Is this our fault? And you, uh, watch as Rivas in the back of this patrol car, smashes through the partition glass that separates the front of the vehicle from the rear and decapitates a, the driver with just a twist.

He puts both hands on side of his head and literally turns his head in 360 degrees and pulls it off. And the vehicle crashes, uh, one of the patrol officers is thrown and he takes a shotgun. He takes a pistol and he essentially craters the police officer's face with the, the butt of the shotgun and walks away. A direction I recognize. Do I know it's, it's in, it's in metropolitan Denver. Uh, they were on their way to probably from what you could guess, likely the police station

down there, um, away from essentially the opposite direction of where the patrol vehicle was going. Okay. Fuck. And with that, you're brought back. Cool. All right. Press the crucible.

Uh, what's the plan? Well, based on what we do and do not know what's going on, I think we really only have, well, no, I take that back. We have an understanding. But we still don't know where Nicola went. Right. Regardless, running around in the night with our arms flailing isn't going to get us anywhere. We just need time to wait for things to shake out.

I think we should stay in this hotel and wait till morning. Logan, you do get a text since you're, you're in, in your physical form. Um, you got a text message on your phone from, uh, Kate's burner. Uh. W. Period. T. Period.

F. Period. Of course. Yeah. I think everybody fucking knows by now. Oh, MW. Well, now we're definitely not going anywhere unless anyone wants to burn off their fingertips and start the new identity.

Now's your chance. I'm sitting in my podcast right here. Um, do we, I mean, I guess we shouldn't, I guess you're right, but also if Rivas is out on the, on the run, we need to, Kate needs to know that too. For sure. What happened? Do you see what happened to him? What?

Rivas. He got taken by the police. Oh, well then, what are we worried about? The report that just happened that he got away. I think they figured that out. Oh, was that on the news? I thought that was just something Koa saw. No.

So before we cut from the Koa, there had been the update where with the flipped over patrol vehicle to, to police officers killed and then Lorenzo Rivas, uh, uh, being. Oh, the police getting killed were Rivas's fault. Oh, then I'm not, I'm not concerned about. Well, I'm concerned about Rivas, but I'm less concerned about the dead police now. Still sorry. Yeah. I'm not concerned.

Um, eventually there is a knock on the door and it's not a happy knock. You don't know it sounds, you know, they're not. You're right. That's. Absolutely. That's, that's have tone. It is a very angry. And, uh, I highly recommend everybody find a TV.

Shut off. I'm like, bitch, we're going to sew right here. Uh, I'll just go up and open the door. Let's just rip the bandaid off. Kate is quiet as she walks in and just kind of says nothing. It's kind of looks at everyone. What. In the suite.

Holy fuck. Happened. Well, we're still piecing that together to be perfectly honest with you. Peace. Faster. What. Happened. Most importantly, we don't know where Koa is.

That's, I think that's where we should start. I think that's where we should start and then work backwards because none of us have heard from Koa and she went after Shaw. I think LaVenia just returns to headquarters and no rest or anything just goes right into trying to understand Rivas, trying to understand whatever she can about Jason's and starts plotting how to exact her revenge against him. You recall back to your training and the problem is that the lessons on specters are always very nebulous and vague because there's so much that Orpheus doesn't know about them. The things that are pretty consistent across the board is that the stains that you know manifest in some spirits that are especially high in spite and these negative emotions seem

to be always present with these specters and they seem to be able to wield them with lethal results. Like they are powerful. They don't operate by the same rules that most ghosts do. You know, you have vitality, they run on just pure raw anger and hatred and that fuels literally everything they do and it is possible to kill them, but it is always a fight and Orpheus has lost many agents to many investigative consultants to specters and especially the Gacians.

The encounters with Gacians are even more rare, but as Kate alluded to, the one time they did run into one, it wiped out a four person crucible. Collette, Viv and Logan. I think Logan wanders the apartment all night and finds their old acts that they have from their firefighting days and sets it out on the table and eventually changes out of their club clothes and just throws them away because they are blood stained and bloody and there is no reason to save them so they just throw them away, put on some really comfy clothes and then I'll grab two sets of extra comfy clothes because I feel bad giving one to Collette

and not at least offering one to Viv. Okay, thanks. I know you can't. I just, I appreciate it. I will also say important that Viv has, it was pissed off enough to do a nice night walk with scooter related night walk, but didn't. Got it, okay. They don't shatter any scooters.

No, no scooter shattering, but still her body is now made of things that are close by instead of scooters, so she is comprised of very twisted couch cushions and now the pajamas that Logan gave her. The circles are the rating. The boxes are the points. So if you spend a circle, which is the rating, if you tap one of those, you can gain up to 10 vitality, but you've got to roll 10 dice.
