Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, everyone. Good morning, Kindred, and welcome to Vegas By Night, Mayday Roleplay's Vampire the Masquerade Chronicle. We're back after a short, unscheduled break. I want to thank you all for being patient. Starting point is 00:01:36 get to start thinking about all the things down the pipe. We are looking at the next year of Made In, what our next biggest project will be. And you all are going to have a hand in deciding what that is. So it's really important that we continue getting the support. We love you so much for doing it for us. A special thanks to Advanced Force Sammy, Bimblewart, Cameron S, Jonathan M, Kirby's Double, Unc, OJPan, and Ren. Thank you guys so much for being here.

Starting point is 00:02:23 It's incredible that he had this opportunity. We can't say enough how proud we are of Vince being part of us here on May Day. Other than that, please check out our Delta Green campaign, Doomed to Repeat, returning for its third season. Check out God's Teeth in the same Delta Green universe and the rest of our lovely back catalog of campaigns, all of which are on all major podcasting
Starting point is 00:02:48 and streaming services. Go for it. Before we get started today, I just wanna remind everyone that Vampire the Masquerade can be a dark setting. And as such, there are content warnings for everyone watching. Please be advised that there may be violent themes, plenty of adult language,
Starting point is 00:03:03 and the exploration of darker subjects. Please take care of yourself and be aware. Take special care today for body horror, acid, and cannibalism. We're gonna get started here. Humanity was cursed, and of that curse, a series of rituals performed to cultures called the ignobilis rite, a gift given by the sword of Cain
Starting point is 00:03:31 that splinters the blade and lodges in the skin. For each group, a different pattern, a different language, a different form to each dark process. The rite of contrition, of welcome, of farewell, of Sundays. And just past those traditional, a lost art rite, reserved only those most holy in Cain's eyes. As old as the cult's existence, with the most nefarious, wide-reaching, and dismantling of effects, reserved exclusively for the dire consequences of these modern nights. Humanity was cursed, and in that curse we will fight and scrape our ways to survival. We will end anyone in the way of our sad simulation of breath
Starting point is 00:04:26 until we are deprived of every last doorway of each dying threshold and the final step forward. Then, more than ever, we will become what we are, the monsters guarding our dead hearts from touch. But a final death will come inevitably, and with it, a field of new pain. We will eat our way out through your insides. We will burrow until we find the way out. When we find it in the end, we're still just rats. We will kill our darlings. Welcome to Vegas by night. So Okay, let's get some things out of the way first.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Ragell, I believe you have a recap for all of us, but before we can do that, we must introduce ourselves. My name is Caleb James Miller. I'll be playing your storyteller today. Hi, I'm Amanda. I'm playing Jackie. Hi, I'm Eli and I'm playing Niles Ames. I'm Lev and I'm playing Mel.
Starting point is 00:06:23 I'm Sergio and I'm playing Burrows. I'm Vince and I will once again be playing Reg-El. I'm Zach and I'll be playing Sybil. Do I take it away? I'll take it away. Here we go. Absolutely. Sorry. Some say the truth is what sets you free Lately I've started to feel like the truth is a burden
Starting point is 00:06:50 Something to be born and endured a prison It started when I died. I Learned the truth about underwood as I bled out in the desert I discovered the truth of the world learned about the real Las Vegas when mo Kerr brought me back. I the truth of the world, learned about the real Las Vegas when Mokur brought me back. I learned more when the Kodori and I ambushed Threefoot and dragged him back to the basement of Club Canaan. He told us about the Nephilim, his operation with the Seregno's and the Sinaloa cartel, about pushing Saints' Tears to the Nosferatu.
Starting point is 00:07:19 He had to kill three Kindred a month to keep management happy, and he got to keep whatever money his victims offered in exchange for what they hoped, prayed would be a more beautiful existence. All of this was being run out of total transport distribution South of Sloan with someone named Tiago calling the shots. And somewhere linked to all of it was Underwood, the corrupt piece of shit cop who killed me.
Starting point is 00:07:47 I'd had visions of Underwood covered in saints' tears, that green-black ichor coating every inch of him, escorting a feminine figure made entirely of black static, holding the door open for someone or something, a door that should never be opened and couldn't be allowed to be open. Three-foot never left Kanan. I fed him the tears that he'd fed to somebody Nosferatu. A door that should never be opened and couldn't be allowed to open. Three-foot never left Kanan. I fed him the tears that he'd fed to somebody Nosferatu. Then we went to find Underwood and I got everything I'd ever asked for since I felt the life drain out of me.
Starting point is 00:08:15 He told me he was a self-made man, the distributor for the Sinaloa Cartel, and earlier that day, he burned down a synagogue with three people inside. Ethan's synagogue my synagogue I Learned the truth of my own shortcomings my own weaknesses when I ripped out under what's throat and drank him dry The lesson was reinforced and we discovered the synagogue was intact but inside was rabbi was rabbi levy a Man who didn't deserve what would be visited upon him if I didn't accept my sire's judgment. And so I surrendered to Torber.
Starting point is 00:08:48 At the cost of everyone, everything. Mal's anger, resentment, their scorn, followed me down to the deep dark. It was my own shame and regret that buried me there. In that darkness, more truths, more vagaries, more visions, all leading me to the Lamb that is Saulot and a door that cannot be opened. A door that I, that we, must ensure remains closed. Somewhere, at the end of all of it, pulling me back toward the surface was this feeling, this sensation of my coterie looking for me. of finding me down beneath Las Vegas trying to negotiate with Moe Kerr, bartering for my return. Burroughs, Mal, Niles, Sybil, Sybil, who considered allowing
Starting point is 00:09:33 herself to be named just to bring me back. The simple fact that she thought I was worth that gave me strength, brought me hope that maybe I wasn't nearly as lost as I thought I was. gave me strength. Brought me hope that maybe I wasn't nearly as lost as I thought I was. I've emerged from torpor changed, more sure of myself and what it is I have to do, hand in hand with the kindred I've accepted as my family. Maybe it's all in my head, but I feel like they look at me differently now. Not necessarily distrustful, but wary, at the very least, like they're not sure what to make of me or these prophecies. I just wish I could tell them I don't know what to make of them either. I need to have faith so they can have faith. We won't get this, we won't get through this without each other and their conviction is as much of a weapon as the disciplines we wield.
Starting point is 00:10:19 I need to feed it, nurture it to keep them on the path. We're going to Total Transport tonight. I've had more visions of that black static figure and a man made of fire. Visions of a room filled the brim with saints' tears, a boiler and a smokestack. And a hatch we plan on dumping enough plastic explosive down to level a city block.
Starting point is 00:10:39 The truth is in this compound somewhere and we need to find it. But more answers, we get more questions, and with each truth learned I feel like I leave a little bit more of me, of Ethan, behind. The truth may be a prison, but it's a self-imposed incarceration. I move ever onward, ever downward, surrendering more of my free will with every step. I won't ignore what I've seen, I can't close my eyes to it. I am trapped by purpose and consumed by that which I do not yet know. All I do know is that the alternative to this relentless pursuit, surrendering to willful ignorance despite what I
Starting point is 00:11:15 saw in the darkness of Torpor, is too horrible to even consider. Sentinel is coming, and deep down I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are the only ones who can prevent its arrival. the shipping company that you find your back on. Chaos has erupted in this community gated compound, this industrial park walled mess you found yourself in. There's a song playing in your head that was released three years before you died your first time, 20th Century Boy by T-Rex. playing in your head that was released three years before you died your first time. 20th Century Boy by T-Rex. And the music rings in your head, the lines echoing out,
Starting point is 00:12:13 sting like a bee, charge like a ram, babe I wanna be your man. There are folks rounding around the corners of these shipping containers with SMGs. They don't look the tactical type, but God, they've come to dance like it. They are in different states of casual dress, tatted up in every inch that can show under these strange dim lights that extend over the shipping yard. There are these low-glowed, almost like street lamps that extend over the shipping yard. There are these low glowed almost like street lamps that extend over the shipping containers and cast these small pools of light
Starting point is 00:12:51 that extend around the maze you find yourselves in. Jackie, who is just up the way from you, Burrows, is almost nearly out of sight. Had it not been for the slip of the foot on the way down for the two of you, you would have passed by almost completely unknown, but burrows you were never known for not being seen. Here you both are, Jackie moving towards the bungalows on the north side where you believe information to be held,
Starting point is 00:13:18 and you staring down the barrel of two small machine guns. to small machine guns. In a different part of the same shipping yard, there's a bird overhead, a bird that is a person, that is a mind, that is a leader, stretching itself far across the sky, the vulture that it is ready to peck at dead corpses and hanging in its talents. A large brick of c4 plastic explosive which to all of our dismay originally had a timer on it, but now has a very ambiguous cell phone detonator, which is very integral to what we're doing here in flight. The vulture extends out through the wind having a cast eye over the chaos that ensues below. Men have expunged themselves from the inside of the shipping container's warehouse,
Starting point is 00:14:14 shipping yard's warehouse, and into the main field before that maze the burros and jack Jackie find themselves in. The bird has a singular eye on the second floor of that warehouse where many bay windows extend across the row and push towards the highest sector, an attic level, where Ragel, the informant, believes there is a tunnel down to the deepest depths where that charge would best be used. On the higher level, below that vulture, Niles and Ragel find a perch overlooking the new guests, we'll call them, to the shipping yard. One of which being an individual we believe to be Tiago, a fiery individual in all of the visions that we've had. He is wielding a large-scale machine gun in his hands, the magazine, this giant brick
Starting point is 00:15:14 extended into this hard plastic case front, and he looks poised to use it, tattooed to the absolute fullest degree with some of the worst facial hair you've ever seen in your life and a very particular word extended across his forehead. Let me find that word for you so you can know just the caliber of what you're dealing with here. Maldito. Maldito, thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:15:44 In a very beautiful cursive script, it is ironically placed right by a depiction of the Mother Mary draping across his cheek and too deep set in almost faded to life, teardrops that you imagine might have been pressed in at 14 if you were a betting man. The two of you have the best look on the ground level and the folks that are coming out towards this. Niles, you've come to realize that one of the bay windows on the second floor of the warehouse have given in, has been opened and propped, and individuals are beginning to feed out from that level as well. Soon to join you as there is a little bridge misshapenly made across the roofing of the warehouse component to the shipping containers you
Starting point is 00:16:32 too found find yourselves on now. Back on the level the lowest level we have Mao who is rounded around a corner destroyed two people's lives by snapping their necks together and bloody pulp of their skulls and ready to fight the others on the ground floor. If we're splitting hairs in front of Burroughs and Jackie, we're talking about three individuals visible, two of which you know of are rounding the corner and on now side we're talking around six none of which are visible. We are going to go to initiative here and
Starting point is 00:17:15 I'm just gonna bounce around beautifully but we'll start with our 20th century boy Burroughs. Burroughs you have two submachine guns trained on you as they turn the corner. You've already started some mayhem with that Scottish claymore you've been dragging around. The last you saw it, it was striking sparks off the ground of the loose gravel of this place. And you were marveling at the way it hacks
Starting point is 00:17:40 like cheap butcher knives in the back of kitchens you were preparing lunch meat in. I want to know Burrows, what's the move here, baby? Three people poised to shoot at you and you're ready to dance. Yeah, the goal is always let Jackie get away, draw the attention to me. Now, whether I continue to engage in combat is a question. Three people and I, I, I feel like we learned last session that they may be packing some heat that hurts me more than just bullets. I honestly think the better distraction right
Starting point is 00:18:20 now. Are they all together the three of them? Are we are am I somewhat swarmed? The nature of what you are scares the individual mortal, even ones who work with kindred, even especially ones who work with kindred, they know what you're capable of when they turn this corner, it is together, tight packed. They're moving fast together, almost trying to blitz you before they can fall susceptible to you, but damn they are close.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Um, I think I need to like, Burlz is gonna kind of like swing the blade around as if he's ready to strike, but he sees them, he knows that fighting is gonna to fuck him up really bad and Jackie needs as much time as she can. So I think he'll like raise the blade up as if he's ready to strike again, but then kind of, you know, soften it, lower the blade and go through the process of like putting his hands up and just being like, sorry, man, hey, not trying to cause any trouble. You do what you got to do. And, you know, hoping that they will take me as a hostage to get answers, maybe even mumbling things as they're as they're coming around the corner to make them feel like they need to bring me to their boss to make sense of what's going on.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Got it. Standing in the gore of your last kill over the corpse of the man you've hacked with that claymore, you drop the sword to your half or you sheathing it back into your belt loops? Do you keep the blade with you? Oh man, I think just to show a sign of goodwill, I will probably put it on the ground.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Kind of drop it like I'm not gonna arm myself. I'm trying to just completely give up. Please don't start shooting at me. Beautiful storyteller's question for you here. Is it within arm's reach? Yeah, I'll say that it's like basically at my feet, you know, that I put my hands up. Beautiful. Are you activating anything to assist yourself in your very pitiful little surrender?
Starting point is 00:20:37 I probably should. I mean, if these folks are human and they smell like it, then I'll probably use my my ability here. Probably awe, presence. Oh, I think I just want to seem so interesting that it's like, we got to bring this guy to the boss. He, you know, he's got answers. He knows why all this is happening. Okay. So with that being said, activating awe
Starting point is 00:20:59 and preparing yourself, you, you put your arms up, you claim you, you don't mean any any harm and the three of them still don't mean any harm because I just killed two dudes or at least one dude yeah I'd probably say something more than it up yeah I'm probably like hey man I was sent by somebody and I'm really you know I'm willing to talk to whoever's in charge it just don't you know don't take me out you know just trying to make them feel like I've got info. Got it. They're predominantly silent.
Starting point is 00:21:31 They look very itchy the second that you put your hands up. In fact, one of them almost empties the mag the second that your hands move that quick. But when they're realizing that they don't have to fight you, it becomes immediately aware that maybe they're open to this. Jackie is so wreathed in stealth behind you that they can't read this for a moment of trap. So instead, they take cautious steps towards you as that all begins to activate. Could you make for me a subterfuge plus manipulation here? Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Adding the effects of all to see if you can convince these individuals to back down. Ooh, a lot of successes. That's two crits that makes it four successes, right? Seven successes total. Seven successes total. Don't be cruel, baby. You can see this, this like visual relaxation in their bodies
Starting point is 00:22:39 as they see you almost bend the knee. And they, two of them sling their submachine guns back onto the strap they have across their chests, and they move suddenly around you to each of the wrists to try and subdue you essentially at least to get hands on you. And the third in the middle there primes that submachine gun very close to you, moving up the main pike. So if the two are moving onto your sides, the other is coming straight up to your face, gun primed to your forehead as they get dangerously close to you. It seems as though they are looking to take you into custody.
Starting point is 00:23:26 But as they're becoming extremely close, Burrows, there is something that roils up in that center of your chest, in the emptiness there, in the cage that rattles occasionally with that primed voice. It must be where the 20th century boy lives lives and he's bouncing around off of each of those ribs. And he's begging for you, baby. They're right there. You don't need them. You could cut them in half. You could take them all right here. Grab that sword and lop them off, baby. We don't need these people. Yeah, I think he's not hungry enough to listen to that voice right now. And I think he's hoping that by being taken into custody, it'll bring him closer to his allies, get a better idea of what's going on
Starting point is 00:24:10 and let Jackie be left alone. He's going to do it. Okay, absolutely. You shut the beast at bay. That voice in your head that tells you you're in power here is dismayed yet again. It'll just come back more ornery the next time you hear it, but that's okay. Maybe it'll be when you can actually show some power. You allow your wrists to be
Starting point is 00:24:37 binded behind your back essentially held by those two individuals. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. There is a a submachine gun poised against your forehead. You can feel the barrel cold against your your head and they stand you up and the other two essentially walk the first backwards as you move in this triangle you at the center your big brawny skinnier form, but still bulky enough, broad shoulder that you are imposing among these three men. They begin
Starting point is 00:25:09 speaking to each other in Spanish across you. I don't know that John speaks any Spanish, does he? I don't think so. But he probably thinks he knows more than he actually does. And he's just trying to como estas and que buena noche, you know, that kind of stuff. They look scared and puzzled in between the three of them. Take them, Gato, Miss Pontelones. Just random stuff.
Starting point is 00:25:35 Perfect. They begin to take you around the corner there. We're going to go to Jackie. Jackie, you watch this bizarre scene as in the same breath, Burrows lops one man to death, severing him from spine, and then drops the blade and gives himself up. But as he does, you're given a very clear shot the other direction in the way of the bungalows. He's almost completely obfuscated your noise.
Starting point is 00:26:03 What's the move here, Jackie? I'm going to, I'm going to bait. It's the Spanish for me. That that face like Jackie just goes. Dear God. She could see what Burrows is doing kind of put two and two together and seeing that he is purposely doing that. So what she's going to do is she is going to go ahead in the direction to go towards the bungalows for sure. She will do that.
Starting point is 00:26:34 I was going to say, could I pick up something from the downed victims? But I feel like that might, if would that cause too much of a ruckus because I do have sign of the step and also unseen. So it's kind of like, I I think you could very easily grab the submachine gun without causing the big just because I already have something but I just kind of want to grab one as a backup slide and then just stealthily like not in front of people, but head towards the bungalows as quickly and efficiently as possible. Got it. Perfect. You've sling that machine gun around your chest and you start moving towards the bungalows. It takes you out of this maze of shipping containers and more so into the open
Starting point is 00:27:26 field of this shipping yard where you can see there are service roads of course for the cars to come and go but a lot of it is just unpaved gravel that runs this length up into the three buildings again which is almost like this silo structure in one half. There is the bungalows you're moving towards, and then on the west side is that larger warehouse. You can see the second that you come free from that maze of containers, that there is a force mobilizing in the direction of your friends,
Starting point is 00:27:59 headed up by this large, just fat individual standing under the lamp light headed up by this large, just fat individual standing under the lamp light that extends the door threshold, that big sliding shipping door with that strange tattoo over his forehead and he is orchestrating this essentially. But your way to the bungalows is almost entirely empty. Okay, I will, I'm gonna keep on the path. I'm not gonna deviate.
Starting point is 00:28:29 Okay. I'm gonna keep going towards the bungalows. In my passing any service, so like, is there like a service road or drive that I'm gonna cross that they will? Like, because I wanna know if I could put some brush or something dangerous on the road that could possibly do something to like their tires especially
Starting point is 00:28:49 there's like scrap metal anything to cause any inconvenience to make it more difficult love that could you roll me a wits plus awareness Okay. Maybe I can get to when the website loads, sorry. Okay. Which plus awareness, sorry. Okay. Yes. Which.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Okay. Oh, Lord. Yeah, we we get something. Uh we have uh I have a success with two. Beautiful. Two successes. You have an awareness that there's a smaller squad coming through to the exit that you're using. Basically, it looks like they're going to try and head off burrows at both sides, essentially go for a little pincer. So you know that there's
Starting point is 00:29:56 maybe five people coming that way right now. And then you also spot that on your right hand side is the east entrance and exit to the shipping company that exits out into an access road, which could conceivably mean that cars are coming through that direction. There's definitely a one of those rising and lowering parking gates. Is it? Because I know it's like from what you described and trying to see if there is there.
Starting point is 00:30:28 So there's really not like nothing I could put even on the road just to even if, if it can't mess up tires, but just kind of like make it a little difficult where it'd be like, Oh, if they ran over it, like a tree trunk or anything like scrap metal, uh, that could just make it difficult. I'd say you had two successes. I'd say maybe you could find some nails in excess around this area. I'm assuming like scraps,
Starting point is 00:30:54 like any kind of metal shiny, even glass. I'm just gonna put it, if it works great, if not, I'm just trying to see if it does. And I'm gonna keep going. So you start scooping this stray glass. I'm sure there's some beers that have been cascaded and broken. This is unfortunately the sort of place it is
Starting point is 00:31:11 when it's a shell company. There's not a lot of work going on. So there's a lot of drinking going on. Broken glass, nails, anything that you can find, you scoop up into your shirt. You're trying to make some sort of makeshift trap out of this. Let's call this a craft plus intelligence
Starting point is 00:31:31 to see if you can create anything worthy of taking out some tires. Just lay your big square glasses out on the road. Well, honestly at that point, I'm about to. Your character photo has a knife. Step that into the ground. Hey, I got two success, another two success. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Yeah, we'll say that you have accumulated enough on the walkover that at least for one lane, you could conceivably throw down enough detritus to take out at least one tire, you think, if you get real lucky. Which lane do you want? You want leaving this place or coming into this place? Coming into this place. Got it. All right. You throw down. This is all while you're moving under the stealth
Starting point is 00:32:21 of this darkened area. There are a few street lamps off of the service roads as you start to pass and throw down under the lane. That's maybe where you're most visible. But they're not focused on you. They're focused on boroughs for the most part. And you are able to throw down that into the lane and then reach the other side to the service stairs on either side that run up to the bungalow. And they're sort of stacked onto each other. It looks like three rentals on top of I'm sorry below two that sit on the second floor and then those sort of cookie cutter rental stairs that come with them as well. They're similar to something you might see as like a foreman's office on a construction site, but bought in mass.
Starting point is 00:33:08 The rental company's name is bulleted onto the front and illuminated by this very dim light. Is there any of the five in presence here that you'd like to check out first. Yes, if I could, so if that's the case, they usually have like windows, like, I want to kind of glance into some windows. I want to go into the one that, I want to see the one that looks like the main, like how they're stacked. Is there any kind of like signage on the sign that says like main office, staff office, something that can indicate what each little thing is?
Starting point is 00:33:51 Give me an investigation plus wits. Oh, I have a better score. Okay. Okay, out. Ooh, four successes. Beautiful. You notice that only one of these bungalows has any sort of lights on, and that's the right-hand side of the second floor. And you also notice that the others, the flooring to each of the other bungalows have collected
Starting point is 00:34:24 a lot of outside dust and dirt essentially, but the most trafficked area is up to the second floor. Then I'm going to head in that direction for sure. Beautiful. Okay, so we're gonna pick up with you in just a moment. No problem. We're going to Mal. Mal, you are also on the ground floor. I want to know here,
Starting point is 00:34:52 you've just taken out the last two that you were involved with. You know now from the sound of boots on ground that they're definitely coming this way. You were able to hear at least the second half of the Burrows debacle when the magazine was unloaded. And you have an awareness that they're probably coming this way.
Starting point is 00:35:14 What's the plan here? I would like to activate shadow, hold on, is it cloak or cast? I wanna activate shadow cloak and fade into the shadows of the shipping containers so that I can basically come up behind them. Got it. Okay, so let's do a Dexterity plus Stealth with the added benefit of Cloak to see how you do here. Dexterity.
Starting point is 00:35:51 Should be pretty remarkably easy. Stealth. And then two more. Okey-dokey. Let's see. One, two, three, four. Four successes. Let's see. One, two, three, four, four successes. Sequentially, you land, you kill these individuals cracking their skulls.
Starting point is 00:36:17 A machine gun magazine goes off on your east side. You look to that direction, and as the camera pans in the direction of the magazine, it pans back and Mal is no longer there. You are drifted into the shadow. It's as though no one had ever come this way. You are essentially gone. Are you moving in any direction
Starting point is 00:36:41 as you're a part of these shadows alongside these walls or are you lying in wait like a black widow spider for whoever turns around this corner? Okay, so Burrows is like around the corner for me, yeah? Kind of. Burrows is east of you. So imagine that if this were a football field, you were on two separate corners,
Starting point is 00:37:07 farthest corners of the width side. Okay. Then I think I'm just going to lie in wait for someone to pass rather than moving through. Beautiful. Before long, a pair of the group coming your way turn the corner, find the remains of what you've left for them. They audibly gasp
Starting point is 00:37:36 and curse in Spanish there to each other, and guns are absolutely primed down the hall towards Burroughs. Of course, this is about 30, 40 yards from where he'd be. But they begin starting to walk down that hall, essentially, to get to the other side. And it comes to a point where the two of them have passed you and then two more have come around the corner and begun inspecting what you've done, checking pulses, although that is a lost cause,
Starting point is 00:38:15 and grabbing their sidearms. Then I think... I think I'm probably going to go for the ones who have passed me because they're going towards burrows. Understood. You know, I would not be a nice storyteller if I didn't tell you this. That would expose you to the other two. I mean, you being square in the middle. Okay, beautiful. What does this look like as you strike from the shadow? It's, oh man, it's just kind of like, you know that GIF of Homer kind of going back into the,
Starting point is 00:39:00 into the hedge? It's that, just kind of in reverse. Beautiful. Yeah, you sort but just kind of in reverse. I do. Beautiful. Yeah, you sort of phase out of a shadow and you're standing behind them. How does that look? I think I'm just going to take one and try and swing him into the other.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Beautiful. Continuing to use a human being as a weapon. Yeah, I don't have anything in firearms, so I'm just gonna use what human being as a weapon. I don't have anything in firearms, so I'm just gonna use what's in front of me. Yeah, that is true, folks. Whenever you don't have a gun, a person is the nearest weapon. Let's go with melee plus strength as you launch a human being into another. I'm going to give you an additional die advantage, given that no one is expecting this. You have an advantage grappling this person.
Starting point is 00:39:55 No one is seeing the invisible human being coming out of the shadows. I think it makes sense. I also have Prowess. Can I potentially use that? You're activating Prowess? Yes. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:40:11 I'm already three hungry and frenzied, so why not? I do not get hungrier. So out potence rating two. Okay. So my potence is two, so I just add another die. Great, all right. That lasts for the scene. Great, awesome.
Starting point is 00:40:34 Six. I got a grid. Beautiful. Six successes ensures that the two of these individuals, without any body armor, without any understanding, both die. How are you killing these two individuals? I think the first person that I grab, it's by the back of the neck, and Mal just grabs too hard and crushes down and then just kind of swings them up and over and just just kind of blunt force-tramming two people with each other. There is this horrible sound as the crush of this man's windpipe means that the air is trapped through a tighter
Starting point is 00:41:26 hole than is traditional. It is like sucking air through a straw as his hyoid cavity breaks, collapses, and he becomes this deflated balloon of a human being. And that is just before his jugular is severed by the breaking of his neck bone into everything that he is as you use him essentially like a baseball bat against the other individual and Break the seconds back on the way down It is a shocking
Starting point is 00:42:01 Way human anatomy can betray each other as the bodies pile on top of each other and to the two behind you for a moment it looks as though the first individual is floating before you truly materialize and then step through into scene and they have an awareness of what they're looking at. They are shocked, horrified by this happening, and the two that see you come into frame immediately fire their submachine guns at you. You are going to take two superficial damage, reduced to one. Of course, there was no dodging action here as you ended up with your back turned to them I'm going to take two superficial damage, reduced to one.
Starting point is 00:42:45 Of course, there was no dodging action here as you ended up with your back turned to them, materializing right in front of them, very easy shot. So one superficial damage for you. And the shadows just kind of flare out around them. Okay. And my next location is clear. Beautiful.
Starting point is 00:43:08 Could I hear from Niles, what is the move here? Niles, you're up on top of that shipping container. You've noticed more people are coming from the second floor. You've also noticed this VIP stepping out from the doors. You have line of sight to Raigel. You also have line of sight to the, I've just been notified, might be a masquerade violation.
Starting point is 00:43:30 A vulture with a C4 brick in the sky. Who's to say? I feel like I've seen that in Vegas. That's normal, that's normal. I guess we'll find out if it's a violation. But Niles, you have full sight of your friends on one side, and the enemies invade you. Can I tell where Tiago's attention is?
Starting point is 00:43:51 What's the move here? Tiago feels almost supremely casual. He is standing in the bathed light of those big bay door attachments to the warehouse. And he has that large machine gun primed, but almost in a hip fire. And he's just watching. But is he like in the direction of like where Sybil's heading?
Starting point is 00:44:18 Like if he were to look up, would see Sybil. If you were watching his line of sight, it's more so to the ground level and Mal's direction. Sybil is Sybil. Are you flying as the crow flies? I think I'm flying in a pattern to avoid being seen. Like I'm not going gonna go directly above these dudes in the yard. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:51 So as Tiago's sitting mainly in the middle of this field at the main door and Sybil is working hard not to be seen, you don't imagine that Tiago's in the same realm of finding the bird in the sky. I feel like disabling Tiago is the most important thing. He's the most dangerous individual. Is there a way that I can get the drop on Tiago if he's so casual and I'm up, I have the high ground. Your high ground, unless you're making the leap of your life. I mean, Niles is a jumper,
Starting point is 00:45:36 but this would be an insane leap to get on top of him. But roll me a, But roll me a... Let's call this intelligence plus... ...mailing. Is this a good idea? The art of war. Wow, well... I mean, just engage with them. Of course it's a good idea.
Starting point is 00:45:59 What's one dice? I mean, it worked for everyone. And it's a success. Make him jump to you. But it's one dice. OK. Niles, there is a moment that you remember from out west before you were a warrior, when you had just been embraced,
Starting point is 00:46:22 when you were being chastised pretty extensively for your lack of understanding, when you and the rest of your people would go out on hunts. You were constantly being told you weren't looking for enough avenues, you weren't doing enough to be seeing the field before you. And your sire extensively taught you the way to see what others are thinking before they think.
Starting point is 00:46:55 He is your success here, unfortunately, as much as that pains you. You imagine maybe the best way to get the jump on Tiago is to go in from behind him by using the second floor, getting the drop that way. It's maybe the only direction he's not prepared in right now to your understanding. Then I am going to head that way.
Starting point is 00:47:23 If there's a way that I can stealth enough to let those other people walk through the rooftop that they're climbing through so that I can go through the same window they came in. That's what I want to do. I don't want to engage them and draw attention that somebody's up here. Beautiful. So you're going to let these two individuals that are coming out through the window there past you essentially, and you're going to move past them. Okay. Good. Leave them for Ragel. Ragel is a great fighter. Let's go with stealth. And their kindred soon. These individuals with rifles coming out on the second floor, no way to tell. So do not add that dice.
Starting point is 00:48:13 Oh, shit. That is five successes. Jesus. Okay. Niles, you vanish. What does this look like? How do you let these two people walk straight by you without ever noticing? I think it's a piece of the rooftop that's off to the side, like some nook in it. I'm able to kind of crouch low enough and press myself against the thing so quietly. And since I don't have to breathe, I just remain as still as possible.
Starting point is 00:48:58 And as they kind of pass by, like in Niles' head, they'll start making counts of how many seconds have gone by where those footsteps to start to trail off, and then Niles will just get, pull themselves out, and then head towards that window, and then jump in. There are the heavy footfalls of boots on the top of those shipping containers as they pass that full mismatched bridge. But even more so as you keep yourself completely still, you find that you can even hear their
Starting point is 00:49:32 heartbeats, the pulse of their blood in their wrists, and you use those to pace out your count. And once you're for sure understanding they're gone, you move yourself into the gap they've created. Lucky for you, as you turn the corner, it does not seem that any more are coming out from that second warehouse window yet. But you can see the harsh fluorescent light that it's feeding out of that bay window as it's been propped. Maybe the most light that is coming from this high up currently. Yeah, I'm gonna go. And you have a way in. If I don't hear anybody else,
Starting point is 00:50:08 I'm gonna immediately try to jump in there. Perfect. Ragel, you too are up here. You're on that second floor. You've noticed the same thing Niles has, and in fact, you've watched Niles disappear from view and then reappear. You are able to watch as they walk into the fluorescence realizing that there are now
Starting point is 00:50:31 two new players on the chessboard of this level. You know that the bungalows are up north the silo is to the east and the warehouse is directly northwest. You see Tiago there. Beer belly is the only prop for that LMG on his hip right now. That big strap straddling his fat neck across his chest there. You can see the glint of the fluorescent lights above hinting off of the piercings in his
Starting point is 00:51:06 ears, his chin, his eyebrow, and the septum across his nose. You've got a full view here. What's the rule? So, understanding full well that I'm going to expose myself to all sorts of fire when I do this. If you deem it possible, I would like to rouse the blood to add a dye to dexterity. And I want to take a shot at the LMG. I want to try to disable it with the rifle I have. Big moves. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:40 You're going to take your high powered sniper rifle. You're going to aim it at that LMG and hope that God willing your gun is more expensive. Or at least does enough damage to where it's going to, it's going to take him a little bit to fix it, to get it back up and running. I would hope a bullet would do some damage to a gun. Beautiful.
Starting point is 00:51:57 You'd be surprised. Okay. Well, you're working with a storyteller that's a theater major so you got good odds. Well with that rouse check I fail. I do get hungrier. So that's four hunger for Yubilwe. That's always good. That's good though because I have that. I have aestheticism where anything under and I have a property, so I'm good. Folks, you can't reach Golconda without riding the line there. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:52:35 Make it Dexterity plus Firearms. That is a... How are we looking at that pool there? Let's see, so my dexterity is two. I just upped it to three. And then my hunger, I have a two and firearms. Yeah. So.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Yep. Okay. Pull the five. Four of those are hunger die. Meaning if you have to reroll, it's five to six. Only reroll one. I'll screenshot it. I'll screenshot it. I'll screenshot it.
Starting point is 00:53:08 Wow. No, I believe you. It's just that. Wow. Bokanda is on your side, baby. Five successes. I can't see this as anything other than Tiago with his fat gut, propping up that butt of the gun right into his fatty chest.
Starting point is 00:53:32 Casual, cocky, strong, primed against the exit that Mal might have come out of. And you see that his eyes flare in your direction just a half second before you fire the gun. So, Rogel, staring through this scope of the high-powered sniper rifle as you set it up off the rim of the floor you're on now, you prime the sights over Tiago. Tiago's face is first in your target and then his gun, but you get this glimpse of those black eyes centering in on you just a half a second before you pull the trigger and it's too late for even as fast as he notices. The bullet rips through the sky, combustion in the gun fires for just a second. Being kindred, the
Starting point is 00:54:28 act of firing a gun is combustion itself. There is fire involved. And so there is this flare up of anxiety across your body as the kick of the sniper rifle goes and your beast sparks with the expunge of that bullet from the rifle. It connects with the LMG and you can immediately see that your sight, that third eye, has severed what you imagine is the firing mechanism to this LMG because he immediately, as the bullet extends through and he feels the singe of fire out the other side and he moves his body
Starting point is 00:55:07 quicker than light to try and figure out who shot and how. He primes that LMG back against you and there is the most satisfying long distance click of a ruined gun and And you can see him, he looks down, he fires it three times, he, in a rage, throws it against the ground beside him. And then using what you can only imagine, some daring celerity, hides back into the warehouse around the corner there, moving far faster than his fat should allow him. moving far faster than his fat should allow him. We are beautifully going from Roggele to the only vulture in the sky.
Starting point is 00:55:50 We hope. Sybil, what's the move? The place on the roof where I believe with the hatches for the boiler. You're moving towards, you're making evasive maneuvers. Let's make a little fly call, see how you come down, whether you still have your landing gears when you try and reach the roof.
Starting point is 00:56:11 Give me a dexterity plus whatever you have in animalism. Dex and animalism, that's good. See how well you do with your new wings. Ooh, that's three successes. With three successes, you're flying high. You are treated to this bizarre theater below you. As you are watching Burrows in chains moving below you, his pattern shirched, beautifully lit under dim pools as he's speaking in Spanish to three of his compatriots.
Starting point is 00:56:48 He's almost at a party. Jackie laying down broken glass and then sneaking through the sliver of door up in the bungalows. Mal, who is effectively using human beings to play whack-a-mole on the left side and then disappearing entirely. Niles who slips in like a B&E through the second floor window and into the warehouse and then the sharp starting pistol that is the sniper rifle connecting with Tiago's LMG as he painfully drops it and retreats. You have
Starting point is 00:57:24 a full view of the battlefield and even better, you make it to the roof of the warehouse unscathed, unseen, with an awareness that there is a bay windowed hatch into the highest part of the warehouse. It is locked with a padlock and chain, very heavily locked, but it is still what you assume heavy reinforced glass. And it does look like it has a view down into the level that you would like to be on. So shit, I think you are going to I think I need to do the rest of this as a person. So I'm going to become a person. Beautiful. You land on the roofing before you do that or are you Hulk smashing onto the roof from the sky? I think there's a moment like 10 feet above the air where she transforms into a person and the camera is right on the ground as her heels touch the roof. Exactly. Beautiful.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Animorphs would be so proud. Beautiful moment as you roll into this three point stance just before it. Amanda really liked that. First of all. Animorphs really got Amanda. You brought me back. I'm'm glad I got my audience here. I'm like, okay. It was good. I mean, you can get enough.
Starting point is 00:58:52 It's a little super fucked up. It's really dark. It's so weird. It's so fucked up. They kill kids and send them to space. It's crazy. Anyways, our Animorph falls onto the roof. They're rolling parkour roll until you come out to a kneel
Starting point is 00:59:12 just before the window and you can see into that attic. It seems as though no one is down there on that level. You're trying to get into that highest level is devoid of anyone watching over this space. And you do indeed see this sort of industrial shoot in the far... Think of the top roof as almost like a trapezoidal function with these far angled high roofs, a frames almost. And at the farthest end of that, that a frame gabled roof, you see the shoot
Starting point is 00:59:52 extends up into that space. So if you are on the south, it's at the north end of this highest level with no one watching it. And we are going to find out what is in that top level after we take a short 510 minute break. We're going to take our first break. Thank you all for hanging in here for this high intensity fight. We've got going. He's going to continue for a whole lot longer.
Starting point is 01:00:16 Let's go. Sybil you're staring down the basically Attic hatch into that highest level of this warehouse where you can see the industrial chute that you could drop that C4 into at any point and see it drop to the lowest level and then of course it would be activated via the cell phone. Can't remember who has that but somebody does. Somebody's got a little Nokia somewhere that will blow that
Starting point is 01:00:43 detonator. But you, you are here, you're human again. From vulture to pantsuit in 0.5 seconds, you are staring down into the next world. What's the move? I do want to drop it into the warehouse, but I also want to go with it. So you said there's like a glass like hatch that's locked. Yes. So you said there's like a glass like hatch that's locked? Yes, looks like the entrance and exit to opening this window essentially has been locked. And it is sort of a steep drop to the attic floor. And it looks like the glass is maybe heavy
Starting point is 01:01:17 reinforced. It looks like enough that someone could stand on it and it wouldn't break through jump on it and it wouldn't break through. It looks a little heavier on the roof than on the sides. Comparative to what like Niles slipped through, this is heavier glass. Okay, does it seem like I can damage the lock or like rip the lock in any way? It looks like a heavy padlock.
Starting point is 01:01:42 You imagine, yeah, with enough force you could definitely break through it. Okay, I'll give it a go. How are we doing that? Uh, I'm just gonna, like, try to, like, rip it off, like a backhand swipe. Hell yeah. Could I get a brawl plus strength? Yes. Oh yes. Yes. Oh yes.
Starting point is 01:02:14 That's excellent. Okay, so that's two successes. Two successes. Beautiful. That's enough to break through a great padlock. You are a creature that has been dead for longer than anyone should be. Of course you can break through a padlock. You are unimaginably strong. It breaks through, the window pops open. There is unfortunately a heavy noise to the action, the creaking of metal and then the hinges of that window popping up and then falling back on itself.
Starting point is 01:02:42 There's no telling whether someone heard that or not. But the window is open. Okay, I'm gonna go... Is it giving like chimney, like Santa Claus getting down this hatch? So imagine that you're not entering the chimney. The chute, which is more like, almost like a boiler chute, is on the other side.
Starting point is 01:03:07 Okay. And it's cut, there's no real like connection. You're not gonna be falling through to the bottom of the world here. You're more falling into the next floor, which includes the chute at the end of the floor. So imagine you're landing onto, like the attic floor of a home, almost.
Starting point is 01:03:28 Okay, then yeah, I'm just gonna drop straight in, try to stealth land onto this floor. Beautiful. Give me a Dexterity plus Stealth to see how stealthily you can fall about 20 feet. Two successes. Two successes. I'll say that you dropped through beautifully. Is Sybil wearing her heels today or is she in something a little more? Heels, heels, maybe three inches because we're going to work. So there is like a
Starting point is 01:04:06 unimaginable shotgun aske clack of the heels falling 20 feet and landing perfectly at the bottom and then you girl boss across the sound of each heel clack. Yeah, I like to imagine her landing is like the Raptor and Jurassic Park when both feet land and you get the big nail. Yeah, I like to imagine her landing is like the Raptor in Jurassic Park when both feed Layen to get the big nail. Yeah. Yeah. You, you're in this attic. And again, up here, it seems as though, you know, for as heavily guarded as this place is, nobody's up here.
Starting point is 01:04:36 OK, I start heading towards the hatch. Do I do I? You said it's not heavily guarded, but I don't like hear any sounds of people coming or like me a wits plus awareness. Okay, rat. It's and awareness. Four successes. Four successes. You get the feeling that the chaos that is ensuing downstairs, the shot that took out the LMG has distracted Tiago, the others are suffering Mal, Burrows, and Jackie, and now Niles is inside the house. Essentially, there's too much shit going on for anyone to worry about the sound up here. Okay. Okay, cool. Then I start heading towards the shoot and
Starting point is 01:05:28 text the group chat given except for now that I'm on my way. Beautiful. The shoot itself contains many advisories. The sort of workplace bullshit you get all the time when you're dealing with hazardous materials or things that could potentially kill you. Almost like looking at an industrial baler, there's more information than you could ever actually read before it rips you in half. But the main thing you gather from these side pieces, being a cubicle girl boss and not a warehouse girl boss, you just get the sense that the flammable signs are the most important. But there is an access hatch to that boiler from this level. It just looks to be this very heavy steel opening. I go to open the hatch and place the brick. And then there's a whole floor beneath me, yes? There is upwards of three floors beneath you, you'd guess.
Starting point is 01:06:35 Okay. Okay, I wanna explore beneath there, but I also know if everything above me is gonna blow up, I should stay by exits. So I'm going to place the brick. Okay, before you do so, you open the hatch, and immediately there is fear. There is an animal gnawing inside of you.
Starting point is 01:07:01 There's a rat that lives in your wrists, and he wants out. There's a scratch inside of you. There's a rat that lives in your wrists and he wants out. There's a scratch inside of you that is more than biological. It is as old as the world. The beast in you warns you for what is ahead and you can feel the heat before you see the source of your fear. The opening of that hatch exposes a flame that is boiling out from this boiler. Okay, I think that's enough to make her stop, take a step back and use this moment where she's pretty sure no one can see her to be afraid and just place the brick at the hatch at the door of the boiler. Beautiful. Before you do that, could you give me a willpower plus your humanity rounded down by a third?
Starting point is 01:07:57 And that is a frenzy test. Willpower. I think it's a third, right? Let's see. It's either a third or a half. Let's see. I'm gonna check this every game. I think I've asked myself that question every game of this damn campaign. Willpower plus a third of your humanity. Round it down. That's perfect. It's a... The third of your humanity is the thing that throws me off. That's a very strange fraction. Can't we just make that a number? But it's designed to suck the more you suck. So I get that. It's fair.
Starting point is 01:08:30 Okay, that's a buddy. I did get a success, but I also got a skull on the hunger die. So I'm breaking even with zero. Zero successes. So what's your count? Wait, I thought it didn't count against you, because I thought that was an Orpheus roll. No, skulls are minus one, right? Skulls are failures.
Starting point is 01:08:52 And then if you don't meet the difficulty, you don't meet the difficulty. How many successes did you have? One success, one skull. Okay. No, we're still in the same place. We read it correctly. You are experiencing a frenzy because one success does not pass the frenzy test.
Starting point is 01:09:14 Essentially, it also means, I mean, essentially, a skull is even worse, but I mean, you can't get worse than a frenzy as it is. but I mean, you can't get worse than a frenzy as it is. I am going to tell you this, Sybil. The fear is too much. There is a moment that you remember shortly after your embrace, that you watched Teresa,
Starting point is 01:09:43 Therese, experience true flame and the pain of which carried over between your relationship for months. And it was one of the most horrifying things to see someone ever experience. And you realize this may be your moment for that. I'm going to tell you now that it's very important to you that
Starting point is 01:10:10 you flee the scene as far as you can to avoid this flame being a part of your story. You will not end up like your sire. You need to leave this place. At least I'm going to put it this way, this building. Okay. Then I think all that is heard is a catch of Sybil's breath, like two heel clicks, and she shape changes again into a vulture and flies out of the hatch. You see, like, the vulture soar out
Starting point is 01:10:41 of the building if she can. But I also need to make a rouse check. Sybil, it is halfway into the sky that you feel more free than the first time you took flight. And you ask yourself, is that because I'm fleeing the greatest fear my people could have, or because I left the C4 brick on the floor of the attic? And you realize you've left without the bomb. You've taken to the sky.
Starting point is 01:11:10 We come back to Burroughs. Burroughs. The trouble with being taken hostage like this is as they attempt to take you back down the way they came around their corner. They find Mal's droppings. And in fact, Mal, who is not in a state of stealth, still visible, they begin essentially to move into a panic and the two holding on to you are desperate, one of them dropping your right wrist, the other desperately holding on to your left side as they peel off to try and fire in Mal's direction.
Starting point is 01:12:02 With this, there is a... I would probably encourage them and be like, yeah, you need to take care of that. Do I engage them? Down the line, Malmas goes. I'm not sure what I would do other than maybe like start backing away from the two of them that are no longer holding on to me.
Starting point is 01:12:24 Okay. And I'm going to assume that Mal is going to immediately go after them, so I might take out the third one. I might do a little, you know, kicking the nuts or something just to really take them out. Beautiful. So you are ignoring the ones on your side, so you're gonna go for the one that's leading up the charge. He's ahead of us? Yeah. So imagine-
Starting point is 01:12:44 Well, then I would assume that Mal would take him first. So I'm just gonna maybe roundhouse kick one of them in the head or something. Beautiful. Okay. I'm thinking probably the left one who's still got a hold on you, right? Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. Let's go for a strength plus brawl here. Yeah, that's pretty good. And I will give you an additional die because with your awe and your successful manipulation before, they no longer see you as a threat. They see you as a surrender.
Starting point is 01:13:13 They're focused on Mal. I think you're taking him by surprise. You're a kind and benevolent storyteller. Only for now. That is five successes with a crit. Beautiful, five successes is insane. You're about to cave in this man's face with a roundhouse. Tell me what this looks like
Starting point is 01:13:31 as he is absolutely surprised by the vampiric speed that you employ here. I think like as they are kind of trained on Mal to take them out, I just take a step back and time for some TCB and I'm just gonna roundhouse kick this dude. Just break his neck. There is a honestly impressive display of karate
Starting point is 01:13:54 if Mal is paying enough attention. As Burrows steps back and becomes almost this trained warrior hopping on his feet. And with the bounce of a foot, the rear back of a kick, a man's life is ended as the horrible crack of his neck breaks as the connection of Burroughs' little brogued boot connects with him. And the patterned shirt flows in the wind as he lands in that beautiful performative stance underneath the dim pooled lights above, one of them completely dying in that stead.
Starting point is 01:14:32 Burrows, I'm going to allow you an additional action if you'd like here. Ooh, that's lovely because I did really want to try to do my best to bust out of these, what I assume are zip ties or are they metal? I, they probably just be zip ties. Honestly, they were, they were trying to work fast with you. Yeah. I want to try to just break free of this. I can have some free hands. Immediate. Yeah. You're free almost immediately. It takes nothing. Truthfully, those binds were performative to a kindred. Yeah. They did not think that through. Okay.
Starting point is 01:15:04 Beautiful. We're going to go to Mal who's already in thisred. Yeah, they did not think that through. Okay. Uh beautiful. We're gonna go to Mal who's already in this situation. Mal, there's two primed against you. I'm gonna say that they're gonna take two shots at you. Yeah. Mal is Mal is just staring at Burrows after this kick. What? What were you before this? Like, I know you said you were a gospel singer. That's likes go off about halfway. Gospel singer, are you attempting a dodge? No time, no. Are you attempting a dodge at this point, or are you going to retaliate before any dodge happens?
Starting point is 01:15:36 I'm planning to retaliate before anything happens, probably. Well, you get lucky. You get up to, were you a gospel gospel singer and that's when the pellet and you are you know Corleone's and pebbled with the shots in your chest and there is you know a slow trickle of by say out of cold empty holes in your chest as mal you stare down at what they attempted to do. Did I already give you your damage? I don't think I did. No, I'm not.
Starting point is 01:16:07 Okay, two superficial damage gets rounded down to one. So go ahead and take another one. Superficial damage, my gang members are not rolling so well today. They are... We really need to keep up this whole like us just casually talking to each other, even though we're all getting shot and stuff. We're still having these personal conversations. Hey, we got to get our development wherever we can, right? And I guess if bullets are like
Starting point is 01:16:32 tickles to you, I guess you can, you know, hold up the personal relationships. Now you're shot riddled with bullets as Burroughs looks on. What do you want to do here? with bullets as Burrows looks on. What do you want to do here? Are they at the far end of this kind of hallway, or they? I want to say they just shot you from maybe 20 feet from where you are. No, I want to give you more than that, about 40 feet from where you are.
Starting point is 01:16:57 Can I? Yeah, I'm going to run. Hold on, I lied. I'm gonna read something really quick. Okay. Uh, because I forget how this thing works every time. Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch. Really a choice right now, it's quite a music. I think I'm going to use umbrous clutch to pull them through their shadow and into my arms. Yeah. Beautiful. So just like I hold on. I was check.
Starting point is 01:17:43 I do get hungry, unfortunately. What are we rolling with Umbrist Clutch? That's that's what brawl. Yes, one moment. Let's see what the actual parole is. Opposing die is Dex plus wits and I have wits plus oblivion. Oblivion.
Starting point is 01:18:08 Okay. Beautiful. We're rolling wits plus oblivion against my, what was it? Dex plus wits. Okay. I have joined Rug-El in the For Hunger Club though. So. They're getting real hungry.
Starting point is 01:18:25 They have two successes, which is the most they could have on this. The one human being you're going up against right now. I have three successes. Okay, so you succeed. What happens here? What's the consequence? It's almost like his shadow skates up his legs, covers over the top of him, and pulls him down into the ground. And when he arrives, an unprepared mortal will be terrified
Starting point is 01:19:00 while a vampire must test for fury or fear, frenzy test at a difficulty of four. Okay, so you essentially venom this man into the floor, his shadow picking himself up, slamming him into the ground, and then skirting him along the gravel. The loose gravel cuts his face and chest enough that you can see the rug burn
Starting point is 01:19:23 and the pulling from some of that first layer of skin as he flies in upside down hanging from his own shadow in front of you. You're met with his gaze as his shirt is hanging up over his exposed chest now. He's flailing. His arms have dropped the the submachine gun that now hangs lazily around the strap along his chest, and you have him absolutely terrified. He is considered incapacitated here. There's nothing he's going to do out of fear here. He's essentially lost to you.
Starting point is 01:20:01 Is there anything you want to do to him past point, or are you leaving him to his fear? Given that my hunger is four, is it an insane thing to do to feed in the middle of a fight? I think that makes sense. The beast in you that is this silhouette sitting in the oblivion of your chest. The part of you that is aware that nothing is real, nothing matters, and that there is a thrum in the ocean waiting for us all, knows that you could easily feed off this human being. In fact, at Hunger 4, it's hard to resist.
Starting point is 01:20:51 Would you like to do so? Yeah, I think as like the blood from where the gravel has shredded his face kind of starts dripping, like down his nose, his face kind of starts dripping like down his nose. Um Mao turns to Burrows and says, wait a second, and then just bites into his exposed chest. Okay. And I'm gonna feed. Can you, before you do this, at hunger four, you're close to the hungriest you could be in this situation.
Starting point is 01:21:27 I think it calls for a frenzy test. Also because you are feeling ruthless. Yep. An easier roll willpower plus humanity rounded down to a third. If you fail this test, you are going to end this man's life and consume him for everything that he is and it will be a stain on your soul. Alright. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:50 Two successes. Two successes is not enough. I want you to mark one stain on your humanity. That is not a lost humanity. That is just a stain. Think of it as superficial damage to your humanity. just a stain, think of it as superficial damage to your humanity. That's true. As you watch, Burrows, you are witnessing Mal
Starting point is 01:22:10 as their bassist. Mal, what does Burrows see as you end this person's life? It's not as messy. No, that's a lie. The messiness is cloaked by just the oblivion darkness that wraps around both of them like a cocoon. And you just kind of see splatters exiting the cocoon and not necessarily what happens inside of it until Mal has finished feeding. And the body kind of flumps to the ground, and Mal walks out of the shadows,
Starting point is 01:22:49 just face covered down to the neck. If I can be honest, Burrows is just one bad friend away from doing bad things, and I think Mal's influence would influence him. On my next turn, I'm going to feed on this guy. I think I'm going to try to resist killing him, but I'm definitely's influence would influence him. On my next turn I'm going to feed on this guy. I think I'm going to try to resist killing him but I'm definitely going to feed on him. Beautiful. Mal, you step out. The corpse you leave, Burrows, is in front of Mal. The corpse is nearly blue. You can see the edges of its body already showing signs of being completely exsanguated.
Starting point is 01:23:25 already showing signs of being completely exsanguated. It's remarkable the amount of fluid that Mal has just removed from a human body. Completely gone. And the inspiration is there. I'm going to say, Burrows, what do you want to do to this last individual? Now he is still alive, still kicking, still fighting, so you're going to have to incapacitate him first, but how do you do so? Yeah, I'll incapacitate him, you know, I want to try to like maybe snap his neck, leaving him just alive enough that I can feed on him, you know, I just want to take away his movement. Okay, give me a brawl plus strength again. Okay. And you know what, add another die, I think this is a harrowing experience for him to witness.
Starting point is 01:24:06 His friend was just drained. Yeah, for sure. How much do I slake? You slake to zero since you just killed a human being. That sucks, but also that rocks. Cool, thank you. I do have five successes. Beautiful. Burrows, you again, almost surgical in your kicks here.
Starting point is 01:24:31 Sever this man from the connection to his neck. Yeah, I like snap his neck and as he's starting to die, I immediately start biting on him and kind of slowly bring him down to the ground and I slake one hunger. I now have zero hunger, if that's allowable. If you are, you're killing him? I don't want to kill him. I only have one dot in hunger. So basically I can't reduce that dot in hunger.
Starting point is 01:24:54 I thought you were really copying now. Okay, so you're keeping them alive. Cool. Then yes, you're slaked. I mean, technically with that five, I'm killing him and then like sucking his blood while it's still fresh. Got it. You slake one hunger, you'll stay at one hunger. Okay, that's fair.
Starting point is 01:25:11 Because without killing him, you can't go down to zero. Fair. Beautiful. Did you just paralyze him? Yes, essentially that man will never walk again. Cool. Okay. Yeah. Cool. OK.
Starting point is 01:25:26 That settles Burroughs. And now let's go to Jackie and the bungalows. Jackie, you're at the door to the second floor of those bungalows you're about to enter in. What's the move here? Sorry, it's just the fact that I don't want to kill him, but I will paralyze him from the neck down, and he will die. Both in the fire.
Starting point is 01:25:45 Yeah. Jackie is... Seriously. Heading towards that one bungalow. Because of the stuff, sound and all that. I'm gonna go to the... I'm just gonna go ahead and just double check, look and then go in and... What do I find? How are you entering this room? and just double check, look, and then go in and... Where are my phones?
Starting point is 01:26:07 How are you entering this room? That's a good question. So, uh... I'm assuming there's only the door and maybe a window. The window you can't really pry open, I think. Yeah. Two doors, two windows. One of the mongolos is empty and dark. Or not empty, but dark, through the window.
Starting point is 01:26:25 And then the... There's also like an emergency hatch on the top, right? Not that you could see when you were higher up. That's true. These rental buildings, they give you as little entrances as they can. I'm thinking like the door. Honestly, I'm going to just kind of put my head to the door to make sure if I can hear somebody on the other side.
Starting point is 01:26:47 Yeah. Give me a wits plus awareness. Okay. Let's go. We got... I'm going to have that critical. Only two successes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:27:02 Two successes is enough. I like that, critical. Only two successes. Two successes is enough. You can hear nothing on the other side. You are pretty much certain that there's no one in either of these rooms. All right, I'm just going to go ahead and enter the room. The door is unlocked. You skate in. It looks largely like makeshift offices.
Starting point is 01:27:28 There are three cubicles in one of the rooms and then an adjoining door between the two bungalows that enters into the other that's lit. Moving across these cubicles, it looks like this is a lot of what you would make without a role, an educated guest, like the front of this place. It's the fake shit that makes a business like this look at least real on paper. Right, right, right. Routinely you will see in that, you know, fake memo-ing, the documents that are kept in this place, the basically letterheads
Starting point is 01:28:11 is headed on each footer. I'm headed on each footer. What the fuck does that mean, Caleb? Put on each footer. You can't head a footer that's the whole fucking point. Sorry, guys. Is the Sinclair foundation at the bottom of that memo and it is this
Starting point is 01:28:33 Very faux corporate logo that looks like maybe they paid somebody on fiverr to make it is Perfectly perfectly corporate and would hide just about anything Okay It is perfectly, perfectly corporate and would hide just about anything. Okay. Uh, just going to grab one of these blank memos. Okay. Just put it in my pocket super quick. Um, going to, is there, since I know this is kind of like bull crap and even like the computers there will not probably have some of the things I want. Uh, do, do, do, do, do. Lastly, do I see any cameras in this bungalow? You know what Jackie? Uh in the duration that you've
Starting point is 01:29:09 been here on uh on the shipping yard essentially, you haven't seen a single camera and the same is true in here. There's no cameras in the corners there. It doesn't look like anyone's playing surveillance in this place. Which, Romeo wits plus etiquette, we'll call it. Oh. I can do that. It's rude to have cameras. Four successes.
Starting point is 01:29:35 With four successes, you know that a lot of kindred who are doing things they shouldn't be don't usually record it. For such occasions as the ones all of you are experiencing now. Good to know. So that means that hope there will probably not be footage of us. Yeah, there we go. One problem down.
Starting point is 01:29:56 I am going to. I need I want to find any thing that deals with what we're looking for that would pop out. Anything regarding kindred, trafficking on that. It's going to be a little hard probably, so I'm going to start looking through files. And then I believe you said there's another door to another bungalow. Is that correct? Yes, into the lit room that's in the right-hand side.
Starting point is 01:30:21 So imagine that you're sort of sifting through papers in what little light cascades through the window here. It's darkened, you're moving through cubicles, you're picking up memos. It's probably bull crap, so after a while, if I'm not finding stuff, I'm gonna go right to where I need to be. You open up that second door into the lit bungalow and you find that this must be
Starting point is 01:30:42 what passes for a foreman's office. It is largely untouched I mean factory sealed almost if this was grandma's house to still be covers on the furniture. There is a single door. I'm sorry single chair. Behind the desk purposefully perfectly directed in a diagonal towards the window. There is motivational posters on the wall, a cat telling you to hang in there. Another about determination in a black and white boarded picture with a man standing on a cliff with his arms outstretched. There is a
Starting point is 01:31:20 name tag on the the desk itself, but it hasn't actually been filled out. It's just the brass bar that someone hasn't filled in, whoever the next foreman is. There's an old Dell, you're imagining from maybe somewhere like 2008, sitting on the desk itself, an old keyboard and mouse. There's a mouse pad, which is housing someone's family
Starting point is 01:31:49 that has been printed onto the mouse pad itself. Happy-go-lucky little white guy in his nine to five, three children, happy blonde wife picture there. And then there are drawers in the desk all shut perfectly and file cabinets behind there. And then there are drawers in the desk all shut perfectly and file cabinets behind there. I, okay. The computer, I'm going to go to the desk where the computer is. I'm going to ripple through because how old is this? Isn't it like, I'm just seeing a family because I'm assuming that is a personal, you said it was like a white white guy how old approximately? Oh, you'd guess maybe in his 40s, but looks like he's in his 30s a Sergio type So there's a possibility Dumbass does not remember his passwords. It might have written it down on a post-it
Starting point is 01:32:38 So I'm gonna look I definitely done that I definitely have done that. I'm just saying, I know what type. Yeah, working in IT myself, this is the classic move for an office worker like this. Underneath the keyboard is a post-it that is taped to the bottom of that keyboard. Flipping it over, you have access to all of their information. And it does match the username the username on the flashing screen once you wake the mouse there. Okay I just quickly want to if possible I'm gonna log in especially with that information go through the hard drive
Starting point is 01:33:18 and start kind of scanning through seeing if things pops out even from accounting, deliveries, anything like that. Go ahead and give me a WITS plus technology. Okay. Okay, I have three successes. Three successes. Absolutely. You know your way around a computer. You know your way around technology
Starting point is 01:33:50 like this. In fact, it's maybe the last sort of computer you saw before you died. You find some notable information, the first of which being that the boiler is a new addition to the construction. There are plans in place to construct it, to change the building plans, petitioning Las Vegas, all of these things put forward, basically a log from whoever this individual is trying to make that project a reality. And it seems as though that's all done through the Sinclair Foundation, or at least in tandem with it. This shipping company seems to work extensively with the Sinclair Foundation almost as like
Starting point is 01:34:37 a parent company. And so there are emails between this foreman and what seems to be the legal team and building team of Sinclair Foundation to get this fast track essentially to happen. And it seems as though this boiler has been in operation for the last two years. You also find that deep within the additional hard drive, there's a C drive and a D drive.
Starting point is 01:35:05 In the D drive, there is a partitioned portion of the drive that houses what you assume to be an encrypted program. And when you arrive there, there is an icon within there named hound dog dot exe and the icon itself is actually an animated picture that has been affected to be an icon something you don't typically see of a dog barking but pixelated and green. But those two pieces of information are maybe the most you see. I'm going to be, that's weird.
Starting point is 01:35:56 Just going to be like, that's weird. Um, okay. Is the, uh, for the encrypted, usually there's like, uh, I'm guessing like a username and password with that. Bobo put it on there. I'm trying to see if maybe there wasn't like, I'm guessing, like a username and password. Would that, because Bobo put it on there. I'm trying to see if maybe there wasn't, like if that, I'm gonna put that info in as well, see if that works. Okay. I like the login.
Starting point is 01:36:15 Beautiful, you're gonna try logging into hounddog.exe, you're saying? Yep. Into the encryption, okay. Yep. I think that's how that works. Putting in the login information from the foreman does not get much back.
Starting point is 01:36:29 Figured, okay. You receive an incorrect password. Essentially what comes up in trying to enter this password is its own little login feature. Yes. And on the left hand side, that dog is still barking. It's a cute little green hound dog. And when you enter the login information incorrectly,
Starting point is 01:36:49 the hound dog looks at you, seems to laugh and bark at you, and then shakes its little head no as you enter in the room. Exactly. Yes. Thank you, Sergio. Yeah, that's the vibe we're looking for here. Okay. Okay. Okay. And it's a laptop, right?
Starting point is 01:37:09 No, full desktop. 2008 Dell Inspiron. I don't know how much time I have left honestly. And as much as I... I'm at this point because it's like, I know there's files, filing cabinets that I feel like could actually at least give me something, anything. Worst case scenario, if things about to pop up,
Starting point is 01:37:36 I'm gonna rip the damn cables out the heart and I'm gonna take the damn desktop. But until that, I'm going then to look at the filing cabinets, every and anything to see if there's at least any kind of documentation I can go through right now. Good. You go to move away from the login screen and that barking dog at you barks again and there's this chip-coated audio of it barking at you very happily. And then a little talk bubble appears above it in black and green pixelated font.
Starting point is 01:38:09 And it reads, aw, ID.10T issue? Sorry. And then you can see that the screen begins to wipe completely. Damn, bah! This green and black information runs across the display. And then you see, you know, blue screen of death out of nowhere, and then that blinking console key
Starting point is 01:38:30 in the corner as the computer is essentially wiped. Yeah, I know that. I know the blue screen of death, and I know when I fucked that up. That's gone, okay. You could still recover it, like if you just took the hard drive. Technically, it's the, okay. You could still recover it like if you just took the hard drive. Technically, it's the D drive. I could actually just take that fucker and just go.
Starting point is 01:38:53 Okay, well, it's wiped. So I know I can take it. I'm like, all right, well, that's fucked. So I'm gonna definitely, for all the hard copies that I have available to me right now, I'm gonna at least try to find anything. Beautiful. You remove the hard drive.
Starting point is 01:39:10 It's easy enough. You search through the file cabinets in that room. Most of it is truly just fake shit. The most notable being some of the documentation of that boiler and the addition of a bottom floor. That is the newest piece of information is that in addition to the boiler, an additional level was added below the bottom floor. Do I see a schematic of that then? Sure.
Starting point is 01:39:39 Yes. There's a floor plan in there. There's many different changes that have been put through. You're looking at a couple different versions until you find the final. Okay. The big difference I want to see is, was there something, I don't know, what was installed? Like, is there anything that's... Schematics look to be a room. It was made exactly to fit underneath the boiler room chute. It looks like there is a staircase modification
Starting point is 01:40:05 to the warehouse level through a hatch and the foreman's level on the second floor going down directly. So essentially a corner of that warehouse has been turned into a foreman's level staircase down to the lowest level. Okay, so what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna grab those schematics, that document,
Starting point is 01:40:27 the drive, and before I leave I want to flip that keyboard over, take my camera phone, and take a picture of the password you can use. Because I don't know, maybe something like that could help down the road. Absolutely. And if there's nothing else I will make sure that, yes, they will know someone came in and ransacked, but I will try to make it look a little bit like something was there. And then I'm going to hightail it out of there. I don't think anyone's going to be alive long enough to see what you've done. Fair enough. But you do hightail out, you're back out onto the balcony and we will move towards Niles.
Starting point is 01:41:05 Niles, you enter into the balcony on the second floor of this warehouse to find essentially that we have all but emptied the individuals inside of here. There are two final goons moving out to the main field to undoubtedly die to Mal and Burroughs in a few seconds. And unfortunately now for you there is no clear sign of Tiago as you start walking the second floor catwalk. Imagine that the floor that you've just entered into is fully visible. You're stepping on industrial cage catwalk, and it extends from one set of stairs in the top left corner and then runs each border of the walls of this place to the main foreman's office in the top right corner. And that looks to be a shielded structure that has a door and bay window into
Starting point is 01:42:05 the foreman's office and then a staircase down and a staircase up. Now, if we're paying attention, staircase up probably would take you to Sybil if she's still there, and down would take you to the bottom of wherever that chute sits. But Tiago, unfortunately, after losing his weapon of choice, has fled somewhere into this room that you cannot see. You saw the blur of him into the first floor. There's no sign of him anywhere else in your immediate vision. What's the move?
Starting point is 01:42:39 So I saw a blur of him. Do I know what direction that went or? The nature of celerity is such that they are moving faster than light. It can be difficult. Give me a wits plus awareness and I can give you an idea of direction, not immediate path.
Starting point is 01:42:56 This was a scared animal. Almost blew a set of dragon fire rounds and a rifle. And if those had gone off, he would have really been scared. Only one success. With one success, you're not really sure. He was blazingly fast, even for his blubber. And I think,
Starting point is 01:43:20 I think then I'm gonna go towards that foreman's office and maybe move up one. Okay. Are you doing so stealthily or are you announcing yourself? As stealthily as possible. I'd like to maintain my hiddenness. There are some troubles here, Niles. You're in a brightly lit fluorescent warehouse.
Starting point is 01:43:41 It is clear, open floor planned, and you've got docks on, baby. Every step is loud on that catwalk. Love it. But let's do it. Decks plus stealth. Let's see how you do in open air. Only two successes. I see two successes.
Starting point is 01:44:12 Niles stepping lightest step you can, nearest to the railing to the wall, hoping that Tiago is worried with other things, you can hear every single one of your own footsteps, and it just begins to fill the air with this tension. You are essentially in a cage with a tiger. You're both sort of feeling each other out. There's always this sense of prey and predator when you're in the presence of other kindred, especially ones you don't trust. And Tiago is an imposing figure. It almost feels warm in this room, knowing that he's here. And every step you take feels like the one that will give you
Starting point is 01:45:01 away. You're not sure if he's seen you, but if he has, he hasn't made a move yet. You're not sure if he's seen you, but if he has, he hasn't made a move yet. You're moving for that foreman's office. Are you going inside or are you just looking for a new perspective? I kind of want to go inside. Okay. You see the writings before you even step through the door, but it's even more prevalent once the door slides open. You do it as stealthily as you can with your two successes. Hopefully it's not enough for him to follow behind. But stepping in, there are strange runes written on every portion of the walls inside of this place.
Starting point is 01:45:45 of the walls inside of this place. The only place that is not covered in these strong inkblot circles and daggering lines that intersect everywhere except for the windows themselves. And they extend down manically the staircase below. Additionally, there is a smearing of viscera on the floor underneath your feet, where it almost looks as though gore has been streaked up and down the steps of these stairs, going deeper into the warehouse itself. The place has been turned, papers all over the floor, desks knocked over, another 2008 Dell computer smashed through and knocked across the way, a relic lost to time.
Starting point is 01:46:42 It's a mess in here. to time. It's a mess in here. Fine. I think maybe I'll, if I have time, try to take some pictures of these ruins to take back. You take out your cell phone. Yeah. You take a few shots. You get through two and that's when you feel a Blinding pain in the back of your kidneys where you feel a fist Combined with your body harder than you ever think you've been hit before You are going to take Three superficial damage halved to two,
Starting point is 01:47:29 as you are knocked hard by Tiago, who has appeared behind you, and wrenched his fist into your kidneys from behind. I will give you a retaliation, but you've been surprised. behind. I will give you a retaliation, but you've been surprised. If that's gonna Okay. I would like to rouse check for feral weapons and turn my hands into those familiar hand blades, and then swipe at Tiago.
Starting point is 01:48:07 I feel the browse check. Always. Okay, a little hungrier. A little hungrier. Maybe you can taste Tiago later. Or not to. But yeah, then, but my hands are gonna start, my fingers are gonna start extending into like these long individual blades
Starting point is 01:48:27 and then I'm gonna swipe at Tiago to at the very least put distance between the both of us. Beautiful, go ahead and make your attack. He is not dodging or anything as his action was to attack you in the first place. So what do I roll? was to attack you first place. So what do I roll? You're gonna roll strength plus melee
Starting point is 01:48:50 and then whatever your hands give you. I'm proficient in brawl against Kindreds. Can I use my brawl against Kinions instead? These are your hands, not melee. I'm sorry, yes, brawl. Okay. This is a house of brawlers. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:10 Says the man with the claymore. I mean, I've been punching people most of this session. That's true. Yeah, you did drop the sword and start roundhouse people, people to death. Brawlers, burros, and a girl boss. Yeah. Wait, you said, I'm sorry, you said strength, brawl. Strength plus brawl plus whatever your hands give you.
Starting point is 01:49:33 I'm not sure what your hands do for you. Oh. It gets me a plus two. My hands get me in trouble. Nice roll for hand throwing. That is five successes. Five successes. Yeah, beautiful. He he eats a lot of that you You can see that pain cross his face as you retaliate.
Starting point is 01:50:11 What does this look like as you draw your hand blades into him? I think since I got essentially sucker punched in the kidneys is probably I dropped a knee and then as I was kind of crouched down that's when I like turned fingers into blade and then I do like a low swipe up trying to grab him by like the knees and the ankles and like across the leg so that and use that momentum to like get me back up to the top of back up on top of my feet. Beautiful. You seem to have succeeded in this round.
Starting point is 01:50:48 You two trading these blows. And as he falls essentially to the floor, or at least stumbles back into the door threshold, you falling back and getting yourself back to your feet. He readies himself up for what is essentially a tackle. You looking back, you can see Niles, he's probably trying to throw you down some fucking stairs. And he is like a bull in repose.
Starting point is 01:51:13 You can almost picture the horns sprouting from his tattoos. And he is getting ready to take you out. What's your action against him here in round two? Part of me wants to do that thing in the Tarzan movie where I, like, try to stab as the jaguar tackles me. Okay. I want to, yeah, do the chest while he does that. Okay, so give me another Dexterity plus Brawl
Starting point is 01:51:41 with your hand blades, and he'll give you a retaliation here we'll see who comes out. five, but I had two failures on hunger. Okay, failures won't matter here. We're going to count that five. You catch him as he's going. He tackles you through. He gets a hold of you, but wasn't paying attention to your hands. You get the sense that Tiago is not a calculating man. And as you extend out your hand blades, he almost runs exclusively into them and you catch him.
Starting point is 01:52:33 You cascade him over you, almost using his momentum to cast over, and he flies back into the wall of runes, showing a distinctly Tiago-sized smear of some of the rituals circles behind him. And then he falls into the first few steps of those stairs, cascading down. We're entering now into the third round between you two. What's your next action?
Starting point is 01:53:06 Shit. the third round between you two. What's your next action? Um, shit. Um, what can I do? How, how hurt is he? He's definitely bleeding. Vitae, there's drips for sure. And his, his fat body has been rendered you can see where his wife pleaser has taken some strong stretches to the fabric and cut across his
Starting point is 01:53:39 chest so that now some of his Harry fat got is on expose for you. But there's no telling with kindred you can see he's cursing up a storm in Spanish and sprawling on those stairs, and he's already getting up with your poor line of sight to the corner he's standing on. He's getting ready to fuck you up again. Let's see. Let's see. Let's see. The question is, do I want to keep engaging or not?
Starting point is 01:54:08 I think I'm gonna go for him again. Like, I think I'm still above him on the stairs, right? Yeah. Then I think I'm gonna try to tackle him down the stairs. And plunge those claws into him again. and see if momentum will do the rest. Okay, give me a Strength plus Brawl. He's going to make a little counter attack here. I got seven this time. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:54:55 He's getting fucked up. It's awful for him. He tries desperately to be ready for your launch there, and he goes to knee you in the face as you're coming down to tackle him from the angle basically Wolverine leaping down to him But what he failed to understand is that those knives are lethal weapons and he's need himself into them so your Blades immediately extend into his kneecap and you can feel the gr grading of your fingers along his patella bone as it disconnects from tendons and uh runs him across and you extend
Starting point is 01:55:32 the other straight into his chest and the two of you collide with this corrugated steel of the the backing to the staircase behind you and there is a dent left by the collision of your two bodies. He is extremely hurt by this action and you can see that his bite is waning. He's hurt for sure. I'm going to leave you two here in the bowels of the staircase. But before I do, Niles, you can hear something below,
Starting point is 01:56:05 just two stair flights down, and it feels bizarre against the backdrop of extending your claws out of Tiago's body. It's singing. Raquel, you are on the shipping container outside. You've just managed to disable the gun on Tiago's body. Tiago has gone on to bigger and better worlds where he'll soon lose the last grip on life he has.
Starting point is 01:56:36 You see that the final two riflemen are coming out from the bottom floor to join the other two in the field, meaning that there are four on the ground level and two becoming dangerously close to you. What is the move here? Two on your level, four on the bottom. Yeah, closest threat gets special treatment, so I'm just going to try to saving private eye in this shit and just start fucking laying down
Starting point is 01:57:08 laying down fire. Beautiful you turn your rifle you pick up the bipod you pivot on the shipping container you get it rigged into the the rim on the other side you prime your sights along to find those two individuals. They're going to open fire as you swing that iron on them and they become instantly aware of your body there. So you're gonna have first shot, they're gonna have second. We're gonna do a testing roll.
Starting point is 01:57:35 Excellent, okay. So I'm gonna roll dexterity plus firearms. Yep. Cool. That's gonna be four since I don't have her. Right. Didn't you rouse the blood? I did. Yeah. But that only lasts for one roll or is that last for the rest of the scene?
Starting point is 01:57:54 Last for the scene. So you should be good. Okay. So that is all. That's almost all hunger die. Three successes. Yeah, you pick off one individual entirely. How does this shot go through as one of them dies? Right through the, you know, Ethan was not a sharpshooter in life by any stretch of the imagination, but he notices it's a lot easier to line up a shot when you're not having to worry about breathing or the blood pumping through your body. So he just sets those sights like right on his upper lip and just squeezes the trigger and just blows the back of his head out. Absolutely. There is this
Starting point is 01:58:37 spray of Tarantino ketchup blood out the back as this viscera paints the back of the commercial white plastic wall basically of the shipping yard. He falls off of the shipping container and you can hear especially especially with your sights your senses the sound of him colliding twice with two shipping containers before he even hits the ground. It is an expert marksman shot. The other fires wildly and misses you as you can feel the heat of those bullets extending into the container below you.
Starting point is 01:59:11 There's a second round of combat as the remaining individual is going to fire on you again. But the individual leans to his side, removes from his side a bottle, fixes into his hand, quickly shaking hands with a Zippo, and lights a lit rag of fire into a Molotov cocktail, rears back and begins to throw it at you. They are making an attempt to attack you
Starting point is 01:59:37 with this flaming bottle. You have an option here. You could continue to attack them and suffer the consequences of this flaming bottle or you could retaliate in whatever way you see fit. Can I try to shoot the bottle? Absolutely. Give me a contested marksman shot. If you beat me you shoot the bottle, if you don't you get hit. That is another three successes. Okay it's a lucky day for my kindred today. It's a lucky day for my kindred today. You succeed with a Martian of one.
Starting point is 02:00:07 You destroy that bottle. That bottle cascades in the sky. And for a moment, there is fear in all of you, a dull ache, like a toothache in the back of your mouth. As flame envelops the sky and then falls below, it's close enough to Mal and Burrows that it is a little more pressing, but not close enough by any and Burrows that it is a little more pressing,
Starting point is 02:00:25 but not close enough by any means to hurt any of you as Ethan takes it out of the sky. Final round, he realizes the Molotov hasn't worked. He grabs this nine millimeter on his side, rears it out in no attempt at a weaver stance, and fires the full clip at you the best he can. Let's do one final round. Sounds good.
Starting point is 02:00:49 Caleb, I can't hear you say weaver stance without thinking about merit. Oh yeah, baby. We never covered not having to breathe in the latest episode of the Dead Drop. That's true, yeah, good point. That's four successes. Okay. There's four successes. Okay.
Starting point is 02:01:06 There's just no hope. How does this individual die? Oh yeah, like as he's getting closer, close enough for pistol range, Ethan just goes up onto a knee. Instead of lying flat, he's now kneeling and just gets a quick shot off right into his solar plexus, just right through, punches his right out his back.
Starting point is 02:01:31 I like to imagine the the shot is so precise that you actually close both eyes and shoot through that third and you experience watching this bullet cascade through the sky. It's almost like you are the bullet and you can follow it as it passes through this body like butter. And he dies just like the others, as simple and clean as it can be. Perfect. If Burroughs can see this, he might be like, are we sure he was a journalist? You all are privy, anyone outside, I'm gonna say Jackie as well coming out to the balcony. Everyone except for maybe Niles and Sybil in her panic. Everyone is privy to the shots of Ethan absolutely dissecting those two on the balcony there. Sybil, you are in a state of frenzy over the top here.
Starting point is 02:02:20 Could I get another willpower plus third of your humanity? Let's see if you can come out of this state of flight while you are in flight. Can I... I can spend willpower on these, right? As long as they're not hunger dice, yes. Okay, beautiful. Then I will do that. And it was worth it. That's three successes. Okay, three successes. I'm gonna see you pull yourself out of the frenzy. Enough that you're not thinking about that flame that's coming out of the boiler. And enough to realize that it's odd that the boiler was on fire to begin with.
Starting point is 02:02:55 Boilers keep water, absolutely, they create steam. But the idea of an actual flame boiler is a little different than these modern nights. But you're out of it, you're here in the sky, you're flying, you are uniquely aware you left the C4 explosive on the floor of the attic up there, and you're ready to rock. Do you wanna use your action here to accomplish anything? I will say, it's gonna be hard going back to that room without a continued fear. Yeah. I won't make you make another frenzy check
Starting point is 02:03:29 for something you've already overcome this turn, but I will tell you that you will be at a disadvantage to acting within a line of sight of that boiler. Okay, okay, but I get the sense that it's close enough to blow up the boiler. You get the sense that it's close enough to blow up the boiler. You get the sense that, yes, you imagine this explosive where it sits now. Maybe, probably, might. It's a little less sure than it would be if it made it through the shoot.
Starting point is 02:03:58 But you think. But then again, you worked in an office all your life. Fuck. Okay. I'm still a bird. OK. It's an important mantra to remind yourself. It does. It does, because I have better stats as a bird for this kind of thing.
Starting point is 02:04:19 So I'm going to. Yeah, I do have better stats. OK, birds, birds go back. I'm going to go back and try better stats okay birds birds go back I'm gonna go back and try to put that brick in place there are no thoughts there is just do the task there's just bird there's just bird they got the coffee order wrong you gotta go back and get it right you got them yeah okay beautiful So you're going back in to collect that C4 explosive? Yeah, I'm just gonna try to move it.
Starting point is 02:04:49 If I can do it in one line, like swoop, pick up brick, put brick where it needs to be, and get the fuck out of there, that is what I'm going for. Okay, beautiful. You cascade through the window, you grab that C4 explosive, and you toss it into the boiler.
Starting point is 02:05:09 Confirming. Have we gotten what we wanted? I'm too scared to know that, but... Okay, okay. Mommy, if you set it on on it it could probably start a chain reaction so you might still be good yeah that's true and I don't know okay I'm yes I'm going to do what I set up your animalism please. Okay. That's three successes. Okay. You pick up the C4, you're not thinking, you're in a frenzy, you're just thinking of what Teresa would want from you to finish the job, to do what you were hired to do. You don't ask questions, you cover it up, you make it what you were hired to do. You don't ask questions. You cover it up.
Starting point is 02:06:05 You make it happen and you move on and you repeat these mantras to yourself. These posters that used to sit up in your room, the things that she would say to you that you would write in your manifesting journal later that same night, the things that feel so real in the moment that it helps you to disassociate any responsibility. And luckily, the air of responsibility will not be on you for this moment. And as the C4 extends out, you already turn wing and fly out the door before the window before it can even land and it's a good thing you
Starting point is 02:06:45 did because the second that it connects to the boiler where the free gas I'm sorry the free flame is exposed there it falls into the boiler itself goes down the chute and an explosion occurs within this building. You successfully escape out the window as the explosion begins. I need Niles to make a very robust man that is in combat with you as the bomb goes off. The bottom floor of this place begins to catch fire. this is that the explosion takes place from underground, meaning that a lot of the destruction of the structure is from the foundation and not from the inside of the bottom floor of this building as it falls in, flame explodes, fire is shot up from the bottom out, and heat and smoke immediately rises. There is a tinge to all of those outside of the building watching, of caustic green pigment to the smoke that arises from this place, almost like a chemical fire. Niles, that athletics plus dexterity for me, please.
Starting point is 02:08:39 Can I argue survival instead of athletics? No. No? Cool. I argue survival instead of athletics? No? Cool. I've been rousing the blood too, can't you kind of like- You can rouse the blood. It can be one of your last actions if you'd like it to be. Rouse it? Rouse it.
Starting point is 02:08:57 Yeah, I do have to rouse it. What hunger are you at? I'm at two hunger. Okay, okay, yeah, you can rouse the blood. I would do that. Okay, okay. Yeah, you can rouse the blood. I would do that. Okay, cool. Wow, consequences, huh? Did you roll your rouse check for that blood search? Yes. That was a fail.
Starting point is 02:09:16 Okay, so you're hungrier. Hunger three, give me that roll. That is two successes out of four. Let's take a break. We were supposed to. We were supposed to about 30 minutes ago, we didn't. Take a five minute break, go to the restroom, let's get some water, get them back. Be right back. Niles, when a kindred dies, they revert to the exact age they were when they were embraced.
Starting point is 02:10:04 They essentially become the corpse that they should be. If they've been dead for 200 years, they become a corpse that has been dead for 200 years. It's why so many of our elders become dust when they die. But for you and for Tiago, you're too young for dust. You watch as Tiago burns before you and the explosion rocks through both of you. And just as the fire begins to scorch and aggravate every part of their undead being, you can see for a moment the man before the embrace.
Starting point is 02:10:47 And the last few seconds before you're propelled from that explosion, you cross your mind with the thought that he must be days old. You watch Tiago die in front of you, and you are shot through the foreman's office, through corrugated steel that you just barely break through as the structure is weakened by the explosion underneath you. You are uniquely airborne and aware that in a few moments, you may be just like Tiago.
Starting point is 02:11:25 You cascade through that wall, collide with the railing on the second floor just as it begins to crumple in on itself, and basically degrade into the ground below like a sinkhole has been opened beneath you in that chute. You collide with the railing, you can feel the steel crack against your spine. You're uniquely aware that a part of you has been burned severely. You fall from that second railing and collide with a storage shelving unit
Starting point is 02:11:58 in the center of the warehouse, falling through two crates that you break through, connecting with the next shelf, and then falling to the floor in a crumpled mess. You have taken four aggravated damage, meaning that you came within two damage of meeting your final death today. Had Tiago not been so badly hurt by you, he may have been the difference in your living today.
Starting point is 02:12:28 You are crumpled on the ground in the mess of the warehouse, the portion of it that has not been cascaded in fire. You can see this blazing inferno in the corner of the room as it begins to die out and become nothing more than smoke as it begins to billow from the smokestack that the debris of this building has become over that extension. You are, as far as you know, still here. I want you to make a willpower, plus a third of your humanity role, to resist the frenzy that is brought by all of this fire. Sorry, humanity and what? A third of your humanity and your willpower. And that's rounded down on the humanity. How are we doing, Chief? Two successes.
Starting point is 02:14:00 Two successes. I will say that that is enough that you just need to flee this situation now. It is not enough that you have to leave this place entirely, but you've definitely got to get out of this building. Give me a Dexterity plus Athletics to get to the entrance before this thing comes down any further. I think meanwhile outside Burroughs, you know, is not going anywhere near that fire but feels helpless and is trying to just kind of uselessly call out to everyone. We still got everyone. Where is everyone? Two successes. Two successes. You make it out of the door. All of you hear Burroughs calling over the mania, over the explosion, over the massive
Starting point is 02:14:45 over the explosion, over the massive fire here, for all of you to regroup. The four individuals that were on their way out into the field have been burned up or severed in the explosion as so much of the building has been shot across this full field. In fact, Jackie, you can see to your right, there is a section of that rental staircase that has been severed by this huge sheeting,
Starting point is 02:15:08 basically, of corrugated steel that is sliced through like a saw blade. And you can see that everywhere is littered with these different pieces of the building that have basically broken through, trusses and sightings and concrete along the side. But you do see largely, Raquel, you're okay. No one outside of the folks closest to that warehouse
Starting point is 02:15:35 were in the line of fire. So you have all heard Burroughs, what's the next move? Sybil, you are of course in the sky flying as a vulture. What are we all doing? Jackie will call out. Oh wait. Yeah, I will call out. I'll be like, I'm okay. You'll just hear like an I'm okay from the field. Because I don't think I like everyone. Come on, let's gather. I'll start climate like grad getting everyone to come together. Do we have to stay here any longer? That thing's gonna burn. Where's
Starting point is 02:16:17 I'm with you. But where's every I want to make sure we have everyone for now. Jackie now burrows you meet. You're asking's Niles? Jackie, Mal, Burrows, you meet. You're asking for Niles. You see Raquel up on the top there. Yeah, I start making my way down. Sybil starts flying towards the group and sees that there is one missing. Niles, you've come out through the the south entrance. So if Tiago was closest to where the group is now, you were further across.
Starting point is 02:16:50 But you are out in the cold air. Your athletics has meant that you got out before any debris could hit you. You push yourself through, parkouring through the other shelving units to get across some of the roadblocks and then skirted out of that door. You're so badly burnt on your left side where the explosion hits you the worst where Tiago wasn't blocking your body. You're uniquely aware that you're probably partially alive because he was in your way. But you do see the meeting of your friends down the Pikeway under a dim light of the streetlights that Set up the the lane out of the east side of this property Yeah, I think it's a slow hobble over there
Starting point is 02:17:41 But once I think once Niles gets there they they're probably gonna finally like take that take that knee Get down yeah, I was gonna say if Niles comes up and knowing how fucked up they probably look Just know the second that they're in my eyes my eyesight I will go and I'm gonna pick them up away. Like okay, right? Yeah. Right on the other side.
Starting point is 02:18:10 What Rygel would freaking like dart over and like kind of like with Jackie on one side, him in the other, get Niles' arms draped around them so they can start carrying her out. Right. Yeah, Burrows kind of, kind of looking at Niles and says,
Starting point is 02:18:23 it's gonna be a lot of tiger balm. Yeah, he is burnt to a crisp. The left side has burned through a lot of his clothing. A lot of their leather has sort of melted. And the smell of that burnt clothing is awful against the skin. You guys are standing in the aftermath of this explosion. Are we leaving? I have a spare room in my house that if anything I can use to, you can use to patch up.
Starting point is 02:18:59 That's good to know, but did we get everything we need? Supposed to be explosion. Yeah, I'm gonna activate premonition. I need to be sure. Okay, this is an active roll. Go ahead and give me a roll for premonition. Yep. Will do.
Starting point is 02:19:18 That is, okay. Well, yeah, resolve plus auspex, okay. Oh, good plus aspects. Okay. Oh, good. Three. It's three successes. You are transported as you hear Burroughs' words echo in the back of your head. Did we get everything we need?
Starting point is 02:19:46 And that last word need stays with you and repeats like a pulse, a heartbeat in your head, and you enter that blackness that you're familiar with when these dreams begin. It's the same sort of existence you had in Torpor for the hundreds of years you experienced in that sleep. You go there and a picture is painted in the same ink blots of those ritual circles and slashes on the inside of that foreman's office. Now though it is destroyed, broken in every possible way. You can see yourself stepping down the stairs over Tiago's dead body, down into the bowels of this place. And there is more debris, a rock slide,
Starting point is 02:20:34 and underneath that rock slide, a blur of black static, an audio feed in your head that whines harder than it should. It hurts beyond all belief, but you can see that underneath that rock slide, a part of it still stirs and moves and shakes. I imagine when when Raigel does this, like both of his actual eyes close, but that third eye stays open and begins to weep that that fight that Vitae fight a And he opens his normal eyes
Starting point is 02:21:12 It's still alive down there I'll go No Well, so here's so I'm gonna ask a question Caleb you can feel free to tell me to fuck off. Yeah So I've got an ability called It's so hold on it's one of my gulk on to abilities where I can
Starting point is 02:21:38 Succeed a frenzy check if I failed one before like if I if I willingly fail one, okay If I failed one before like if I if I willingly fail one, okay So I haven't willingly failed one, but could I succeed a frenzy check now with the expectation? I will absolutely like fail one like the next one succeed so that you can fail the next that happens Yes with no opposition to what the next one might be Correct. Okay. I'm all cool with that. Yeah that I get to pick what it is now you do yeah okay yeah I'll absolutely take that weapon thank you okay you're very welcome I can I can go well you can't go by yourself come on whatever it is whoever it is you're gonna need some backup we just need time now for this fire to go out. I was gonna say how how much flame is a lot. So the
Starting point is 02:22:29 idea of this is if this fire was on the warehouse level, this explosion was on the warehouse level or if it was on the attic level, if it didn't travel that boiler, a lot more would be on fire but the beautiful thing of this is that because it was centered, or at least largely went off at the epicenter, low, low, low on that new level, the fire is already starting to dissipate into smoke because so much of that debris fell on top of what happened. And so much of it was almost like throwing a grenade in a safe rather than throwing a grenade in open air.
Starting point is 02:23:08 A lot of this structural. It's gonna be like when we went down to visit our friend under the lake, we just got to get through the smoke. Well, who's our most help? Like, I think I'm not everyone should go. I'm doing good. Okay. Why don't we just wait for it to come out?
Starting point is 02:23:28 Do you think it's going to want to stay under the debris? We just wait for it to come out and then we... It's buried. So now would be our chance to do it, basically. It's buried and it's burning. Now's the time. Okay. If you got the guts, if you got the ability, just go down. Let's take care of it now. For my edification, is there anyone that's not going down? Niles, maybe
Starting point is 02:23:55 you should stay up there. Niles should stay. Niles should stay with them. Stay with Niles. Where are you staying? Sybil, why don't you stay with Niles? Oh. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. I want to take that moaning as yes.
Starting point is 02:24:12 OK. They're doing this as a bird. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Ow.
Starting point is 02:24:17 It's the saddest, yeah. Sad vulture sounds in agreement. Where are my kind of gang girls staying on the property? We... the circus circus van is still there. I think we are... I... if you are in the back of the van, Sybil is moving the van far away from the literal smoke. Um... Is the car on while you're waiting?
Starting point is 02:24:47 You. I don't, I don't think you need air condition right now. So I think, I think it's off. I don't think that'll be helpful. How far away is the car from the shipping yard? We parked a good distance away. Yeah. Okay. That's all I need. Uh, good distance away. Yeah. Okay, that's all I
Starting point is 02:25:05 need. Uh, right gal. No, burrows Jackie. Yes. Uh, I need basically a strength plus athletics from one of you, whoever dictates the strongest in order to move much of the debris and wreckage that is barring your place from extending more into the smoke that is this staircase down. I can get a pool of four. Okay, I can get a pool of three. Are we able to assist them? Yeah, let's have Burrows and Mal roll it. We'll say that the two of you are working while the journalists are waiting for their path down. All right.
Starting point is 02:25:58 I'll use a willpower. Okay, you can roll three non-hunger dice. Burrows, have you rolled? Hell, I'll do that too. Yeah. I got all four successes. Four Hell, I'll do that too. Yeah. I got all four successes. Four successes. I got two successes.
Starting point is 02:26:08 Two successes. With six successes, this is an overwhelming success. I'm gonna say that you guys have been able to move the wreckage, able to move the ruins, and you've created a path that is largely smoke and no visible open flame so far. So there are no willpower battles yet. Now, the smoke is damaging, but you're dead.
Starting point is 02:26:31 You could walk through it for the rest of your life. The only thing that worries you sometimes, Mal and Burrows, is when you move a part of that concrete and your hands feel so very hot by the time that you've moved it. The warmth doesn't worry you, the flame does. I would like to use Shadowcast to send my shadow out all around us so that we are cloaked basically in the smoke so that if this thing is functional
Starting point is 02:27:06 and has vision, it has a harder time seeing us. I see, okay. Oh, Rastrak hold on. Burrows will run back and grab his claymore before we. Got it, we'll assume you have your sword with you. Caleb? Yes. With the smoke, I'm generally,
Starting point is 02:27:24 usually the bottom area, you have a little bit of clear air. With the scope of the rifle, can I look down and get a little bit of a visual on anything? Just trying to at least see what's ahead. Yeah, absolutely. You get down to the bottom, you get the sights going. It's strange because you are working down like a staircase. So the bottom sort of shifts and the staircase is barely intact in places and there is a considerable amount of rubble. But it's a while in the stealth of that shadowed cloak that Mal gives you before you begin to see the first inch
Starting point is 02:28:05 of the bottom floor after two flights down. Still intact enough that you can actually make it into this room, meaning that largely the chute was on the other side. And you all got lucky. The room is dark, There is a subtle glow. You imagine that there were lights on, but they must have died in a lot of this explosion. Difficult to see much else than that, but it looks to be what you expect of a basement floor. And then rows and rows of laboratory desks that have been severed and broken and cascaded across this room
Starting point is 02:28:50 by the explosions. That's about all you get so far. I'm gonna, as I'm seeing everything like that, I will just call out what I see in the moment so everyone can be a little bit where, so there's like a good, at least we can step down in that area. Got it, perfect. You guys extend down into the lowest level and the smoke is still really heavy in this room enough that it's obfuscating a lot of what's in this room. Are there any attempts made to clear that in any way? Is there anything you guys are doing
Starting point is 02:29:27 or are we moving through the smoke? What's around that we could use to ventilate a little bit? I mean, would it just be a matter of moving some rubble to create a way for it to exit or? I could definitely see that as a solution. Okay. So you communicate that to the- Yeah, we can't communicate that until we do
Starting point is 02:29:46 something like that. So yeah, yeah. So I'll communicate that. Do you speak? Yeah. Okay. Mal and Burrows could I get a strength plus athletics check to try and get enough rubble out of the way to clear some of this smoke enough to see the room. One success. Two successes. That's enough. Takes longer than you expect. As the smoke begins to dissipate, you do see that on the side of the chute, there is a massive, almost a slide of bedrock into the room itself.
Starting point is 02:30:25 Like the surrounding area of this build has fallen in on itself and the earth has retaken some of this room. You can also see on your left-hand side, independent of this explosion, is a carved out archway through into a series of tunnels that you imagine might be the reason that the bedrock came through to begin with.
Starting point is 02:30:52 You find too that as the smoke dissipates, you see leagues of these rows of laboratory desks with vials, flasasks filled with various fluids all of a strange green Icarus that reminds you of Vitae but is caustically bright green on the edges and it looks like the beginning reagents of Saints tears. In addition, there is a glowing laptop screen that has been severed in half the Digitizer that creates the pixels on screen has been cracked and broken and it looks like there was a desktop screen before it
Starting point is 02:31:35 Has now been severed by the explosion Maybe a consequence of your actions Finally there is a blur of movement from under the rock slide as something darts from the rocks into those connected tunnels as fast as is possible of your kind. Fuck. We're running out of time. That took a lot of time. Let's go after this thing. Can we just start, can we shoot it, right? I'm just think cuz if you do we can Maybe pick it you guys are running into the tunnels and opening fire the second you see it. I'm gonna try you said there's a laptop Yes, broken in half
Starting point is 02:32:15 Does not look salvageable. I'm gonna be real with you run cool cool cool cool cool. Yeah I'm gonna move into the tunnels. Oh go ahead. I do want to grab the vial of the blood though I do want to grab a sample of that for sure. Are you doing that now or after you kill this? Probably after when we kill this thing because I don't want this thing to touch me if I drop it while we're killing it. Yeah. I understand.
Starting point is 02:32:37 Okay, so tell me what this looks like as you guys file into the tunnels. I'm gonna peel around the corner and just get that sniper rifle up to my shoulder and take a shot. Okay. I'm going to be honest, I'm going to just kind of follow his stuff because I have a similar weapon, maybe not as like high tech, but I will also just like where he's lining
Starting point is 02:32:55 up, I'm going to just start taking a shot too. Yeah, Burrows will she's the sword and then pull out the pistol that he's got. Beautiful. I'll wait for all three of them to take their shots before I move in because I don't have anything distant. Now, I will say there's another connected tunnel that she could leave out of if this doesn't work. Then I will.
Starting point is 02:33:15 I'll start trekking down that tunnel as a way of heading it off. If we split off to head her off, the firing squad moves down the other tunnel. You guys converge on one half of these series of tunnels that have been closed through. You can see that these have been in construction for a long time, years, that this has been a project for a long time in Vegas, whatever they've been trying to do here. But you find in the middle of a rock slide cave-in essentially that she was probably going for an exit tunnel that was closed in the explosion but she has lost it entirely. She is scraping at this sediment rock trying desperately to get through to the other side is she knows she is a caged animal. She is strange to behold.
Starting point is 02:34:10 Serena is tall, rail thin, she's a left over. Her hands and feet are burned like char up to her wrist and mad smoky stains, but I have to be deliberate in saying that those are not burn wounds. Her hands are still intact. It's the rest of her body, the chest and lower half that exposed the most to those explosions. Those char marks must have come from before you set off. She is barefoot, but has lost one leg in the explosion up to
Starting point is 02:34:48 just past her kneecap. She's wearing strap after strap of torn cotton fabrics arranged into a two piece crop and ankle length skirt, both of which have been severed, burned, destroyed by the explosion. Her hair is a mad, wide, and wet tangle about her white clothes, and about her neck, on a chain that is now barely holding on, is a moss agate stone amulet in the center. Her eyes, what blaring prey-like mania they're displaying now are a mass of smoky white in the center with swirling black smoke around the irises themselves. She looks in a state of absolute fear. Do you all unload as she turns and bears claws?
Starting point is 02:35:43 No, I don't. Raigel does not fire. Jackie, do you fire? I would have because that's what I assumed. Jackie fires. Burrows, do you fire? Yeah, maybe in another life, baby. I'll just fire at them. Good.
Starting point is 02:36:01 Mal, do you pounce? No. Okay. Wait, no, you said I had to be ruthless. Yes, I did. Then yes. Guys, the four of you tell me how she dies. I think it's very like Tarantino esque like the four of us kind of standing not far away from them and just like, you know, firing into them. Honestly, yeah, I would have just like,
Starting point is 02:36:28 my shot I was just gonna go just as much Tarantino this. Beautiful. It is a hail of gunfire and the muzzle flashes are the only light in these tunnels. Ragel, you sway your hand just out of the way of that trigger at the last second, some sort of calm raising over you, your third eye twitching before you could pull. But you're shrouded in gunfire around you,
Starting point is 02:36:54 and you can watch as she very resolutely slits her eyes in preparation of it and dives after all of you, but it's not nearly enough as she is blown back by the sheer unloading of the magazines, it's enough, just barely enough, to put her down. And as she's cascaded back, pressed up against those rocks, she dies her final death. And for some of you, it might be the first time
Starting point is 02:37:21 you've ever witnessed this. The hands pressed back limply against the rock, the eyes losing all of their own life. And then within just a moment, she decays and turns entirely to dust, dying immediately. Caleb? Yes. That amulet she has, is that amongst the pile of dust? Yes. The amulet drapes over one of the singular boulders beneath and her clothes drape as well. I'm going to grab that. Okay. As Jackie moves in, being sure to know that she has passed, Jackie, you reach in,
Starting point is 02:38:02 you grab that amulet. It's still hot from the flames that enveloped her. You have to pick it out of the dust of what this person used to be. And as you're considering that morbid thought, I will leave you with what we will be dealing with next time we play. Somewhere, distantly above you, you hear the whine of police sirens.
Starting point is 02:38:27 I will see you all in two weeks. Oh my God. Nice. Thank you everybody for sticking it out with us. We've been waiting on that Lamia for a while here and now we finally got her. Serena has bit the dust and we'll move on. In two weeks, we'll see how we handle the police aftermath of this,
Starting point is 02:38:49 whether we can get away unscathed. Thank you all for being here. It wasn't me. It wasn't me. We got this. We've done it with the hospital before. Thank you, bro. It's such a good episode.
Starting point is 02:39:03 That was so good. That was awesome, guys. So good. We have a, that was so good. That was awesome guys. We have a comeback episode so I'm glad we got it in. So good. Alright, we'll see everybody next time. Thank you guys, bye everybody. Bye y'all.
