No, that's not the worst.
Good morning, Kendra.
And welcome back to Vegas by night.
May Day Roll Place Vampire the Masquerade Chronicle.
I know that you've been waiting for this second part to the first part that you were waiting for,
to the pre part that you were waiting for, to the vault break-in that we have been planning for, I don't know, four sessions now.
But we're going to give that to you right now.
So thank you for tuning in.
I hope you're all staying safe out there.
I hope you're staying beautiful.
If you're not familiar with season one of Vegas by night,
don't fear you can still check us out on every major platform.
And if you're looking for more of us,
then please check out some of our fully produced pre-recorded content
on Spotify, Apple's podcast, wherever you can find us.
If you haven't already, please consider giving us a like and a subscribe.
And if you can, drop us a five-star rating on Apple Podcast or Spotify.
It really does help us.
It continues our growth in the best way possible.
If we receive three more subscriptions on YouTube,
I don't know where we are on that goal,
but the last time I said this, it was three.
So I'm going to say that again.
We get a new emoji for use,
and we're taking suggestions from all in you
and what it should be.
So in addition, you can join our channel, Patreon,
and get access to our community Discord
where we're going to vote on whatever the hell that's going to be.
The Discord is really where we've had the chance
to build a great little family around the content we put out.
We have patrons running incredible games out of our community
and members of May Day that show up in those games themselves
and run one shots alongside it.
Right now, Sergio has started an incredibly large endeavor
within our Discord to start a game that's a lot bigger
than we thought it would be.
So if you'd like to be a part of this,
now is the time.
Get in while you can.
We'd like to give a shout out as well to our handler-level Patreon contributors.
It's because of their involvement in our content that we can begin thinking of all the huge things we're going to do this year for Mayday.
So a very special thanks to Vance Wars Sammy, Bimblewart, Brandon C., Cameron S., Jonathan M., Kirby's Double, Matthew J, Moira, O.G. Pan, R.V., REN, Tony D, and Vince Kay.
I'd like to advise you at this point that there may be violent themes, plenty of adult language,
and the exploration of darker subjects in this podcast, this stream you're about to watch here,
including intense depictions of torture, body horror, surgery, and trafficking.
Please take care of yourself and be aware.
And it's a short one, but here we are.
We will celebrate.
We will wash ourselves.
free from the sins. We will bathe in what's left of you. We will kill our darlings. Welcome to Vegas by night.
Titty dangle. Beautiful. Let's introduce our cast. Today I'm going to be your storyteller,
as well as all of the things that will hurt them. My name is Caleb James Miller.
I'm Amanda, and I play Jackie Santana. Hi, my name is Eli, and I'm playing Niles Ames.
Hey, I'm Lev and I play Mal.
I'm Sergio and I'm playing Burroughs.
You muted, Beanie.
That was beautiful and I fucked it up.
What's up, fools? I'm back.
It's Veds. I'm playing Regal.
I'm Zach and I play Sybil.
That was like a near 90% there, guys.
We almost like...
I'm so sorry.
It's okay. We did it last time too.
So it's not like it's anything new.
two steps back for every single one of these.
All the good thing that we come together because opposites attract.
It's dynamic.
What we should do is go back and splice all of these fucking things together
until it makes a perfect one.
Yeah.
And we'll have, you know, seven versions of us with different haircuts.
Maybe that can just be a part of our intro graphics.
It's just a fake, hi, no mistakes.
What we're going to do is we're going to fully produce and pay everything we can
to get ourselves in professional booths
to get this done, so we never
have to do it again.
But everything is different characters,
so there's one anchor, there's one
there's one, there's one
fucking Viv.
We'll have like a
45 characters introduce themselves
before and we'll find out what show it is
after. We'll have an
empty eighth booth for the
new member of May Day whenever they
come in too. It'll cut to them.
Just a moment of silence until they show up.
Okay.
Beautiful.
We have a recap this week from Jackie.
Yes.
Yes, yes, yes.
Time is a weird thing.
When I was alive, I could never slow it down like I can do it now.
It makes it easier to process things,
especially because this is going to be a bitch of a report to write down.
While en route to the silver dollar,
we encountered Immortal identified as Dave.
Subject displayed an unusual level of curiosity regarding our activities.
I got to make note that Dave appears to be financially desperate.
Potential candidate for thrall recruitment
and during further observations.
Mal has demonstrated, has emerged with a new ability,
allowing themselves to dissolve into a mist and traverse through environments undetected.
Okay, further field testing is definitely.
recommended to assess the combat and reconnaissance of this new ability. Niles brought
along their recently acquired Avian Familiar, designated spork. While the intelligence level
remain uncertain, spork exhibits of willingness to definitely assist. Effectiveness in the field
definitely remains under further review. For the actual heist,
distraction was definitely secured successfully by Sybil,
executing an extreme diversion of complete and utter kitchen destruction.
However, the mortal she employed in her B-themed-themed-themed-Rat-toe approach met an unfortunate end,
and his body is sporting more holes than Swiss cheese.
Clean-up may be required.
That will have to be assessed later.
However, Burroughs definitely took decisive.
action with
Adon, trying
to neutralize it by placing
a bullet to the back of the head.
However, Adon's apparently
thick skull allowed him to
basically retaliate,
only to later disappear,
leaving an unresolved threat.
He should be considered
a high priority loose end,
need for the review. Tactical.
Okay, so
here's my situation.
I have found my
in a position at an open, well, in front of an open elevator shaft with an impending choice.
Do I use my new ability to phase through?
And if so, do I float or fall?
The mechanics of this new form in these circumstances are definitely unclear.
And given the alternative and gauging all these multiple hostiles right in front of me,
and the fact I'm about to put a Wiley Coyote reference in an act.
actual report to Usama is not what I was expecting when coming to Vegas. God help us all with that.
Notably, I will have to acknowledge that Rangel has continued to be unaccounted for and given the current level of our situation,
I don't deny that his ability to vanish is a skill that is definitely worth studying.
Now, I should delete that last part. I mean, oh wait, Jackie Focus. We have like 12 guys in
in front of us.
Beautiful.
Beautiful.
Beautiful.
He's not as stress as I am right now.
Compiling a report while in combat is so good.
On brain.
Oh, right.
Okay.
Have we made any changes to our sheets since we last saw each other that we would like to
declare publicly or are we holding our hands here?
I put a dot in
athletics
because you keep making me roll it
and I
think I also am going to add
cloud memory to my disciplines
beautiful I think that's smart
I think anyone playing in a Caleb James Miller game
figures out pretty quick
it's wits plus awareness and athletics for some reason
I was going back and watching some of these streams
to remind myself what I was doing
and every time we go
Shit, that's kind of all we do, isn't it?
No, it's not.
This is a riveting game with so much happening.
Now, roll wits and awareness.
No.
So, we are going to begin with Jackie on the main floor.
Jackie, you are surrounded by these jackbooted individuals
that are imposing in their form.
And unfortunately, there are more coming down
from the south-west side of the casino,
from a set of stairs that head up to the hotel level,
the small suite level where the penthouses are entertained.
So it looks like the scattering that you have reduced
with your celerity-induced neck-snapping, chin gouging.
You were putting knives in people's chins last session.
That's all I remember.
Are you just the 9mm?
Just to make it more.
Oh, that's right.
I'm sorry.
Yes.
You were pressing the pistol to their chins and pulling the trigger.
That has thinned out the crowds, but you're beginning to realize that more are coming.
With a mind like yours, Jackie, you're realizing that this operation, for however small it is on Fremont Street, it's definitely, well, it's up to its security, whether that is because it's on.
an anarch territory and it understands it's bordering to the enemy or it's harboring of something darker.
Who knows? But this is where you are. You're looking forward and you're seeing again that that elevator
is in emergency stop. The doors are not quite open yet. You could wrench them open. You're of course
a creature of the night with extreme power. And then it would just be
as those thoughts race through your mind, up or down.
If you recall correctly from your notes,
this elevator only takes you to the upper floors,
predominantly to the third, at least where Burroughs is.
The others feed out to the hotels.
So, of course, you could flank around to the other individuals
coming down the stairs.
But they are body armored.
they are well prepared.
Again, wielding submachine guns silenced with these big barrel-looking attachments at the end of what is assumed to be something like an MP5, all strapped around their chests.
Compared to some of the men that you all fought in the cargo yard outside of your showdown with the Lemia,
These men don't seem nearly as terrified by the possible presence of kindred in this room.
And this place is cleared out very quickly.
That fire call and the escorting of all of these bouncers has meant that the place is completely fallen to all of you, the N-Gen, and the people in this room.
You do have a good sight as well on the pit boss as he comes out of the room from the kitchen on your right.
Again, a tall individual, six foot two with slicked black hair that falls down to his shoulders and falls to a natural curl.
He has this big beard that is well catered and has highlights of almost like russet chestnut hair that run through the blackest.
black, these cold eyes, hunter's eyes that you can already feel are scanning the room and zoning in in your direction.
And in his hand, he is gripped in a rested stance, this very large revolver modern in its interpretation with this very large sidebar running the length of the barrel.
You served, and it was not typical to see in service, but you know guns, Jackie.
He's wielding this big rhino revolver, excuse me.
And this whole operation looks like it's getting a lot more worrisome for you by the second.
What's the move?
I just have one question of clarification this will be.
Is the elevator in front of me?
That can't go down to where I believe Sergio.
I have to go to the third to use that.
Sergio is actually technically a buff.
So what happened was Sergio.
He got into the elevator.
He tried to get up to the third floor with Adon in tow, hostage-wise, right?
And then Adon hit the emergency break.
They stopped in the middle.
So essentially that elevator right now is caught between floors.
And then Sergio is on his way up to the third if Adon doesn't break his neck.
Okay.
where that safe is where Mal is.
That's down, down, down, down.
Can that be achieved in that elevator shaft or do I have to go to a specific one on the third and then go down to that one?
That's the, or is that because it's the same thing?
With the information provided to you guys, what you guys know is that in order to access the vault,
you have to get to an elevator only available on the third floor from Aidan's office.
Okay.
And you must have the same six-digit code to access the elevator.
elevator and the vault.
Okay.
So that elevator, Sergio is stuck in, takes you up to the third floor, and gives you access
down to the vault if you have the passcode to get through.
Okay.
So I'm going to this point, because everything is getting really hot really quick.
I, because I did, I spilled blood and did a little chancing beforehand and held that mirror.
I'm going to go ahead and then snap and break it.
Okay.
That's, it doesn't really look.
I'm going to be honest, it doesn't, there's no extra magic, there's no whimsical, there's just nothing.
But basically what's going to happen is I basically become an incorporeal state that's kind of like a ghost that I can ably go through objects,
but also totally immune to physical damage. So therefore, once they start, if they start, it goes through.
Understood.
With that, if anything, since that elevator looks a little stuck and I can't get there,
going to probably go up the stairs then.
Okay.
And then I'm going to be like snap and then just start running and walking as fast as I can.
Got it.
Where are you trying to get to up the stairs just so I know your intention?
It's truly to, as I'm recalling everything, it's like, all right, let me get to that third
floor.
I created all this panic or at least this.
Snap the mirror.
And because I still have like my fleetness, I can like still move very fast.
Okay.
So you're just hoping to phase.
through the stairs up there with that incorporealness.
It seems like I can still walk, so that's how I'm basing my physics,
anything that's like basically a floor.
That's where I'm just going to like go zoop, zip, zip, zip.
Jackie, the mirror breaks and you feel bizarre.
It feels like an out-of-body experience, like sleep paralysis for a moment.
Like you're watching yourself, fully disassociating.
But by the time you realize you aren't out of body, you realize there is no body to be out of.
You have phased out of existence.
And the world has become a weird, milky silver that almost feels as though it is moving in slow motion.
Everything that you're witnessing is threaded in these bizarre materials.
this stretched out fabric that makes up everyone and everything, every object,
everything that you're seeing is now made up of these waving, undulating strands of creation, of existence.
And it all feels as though it's happening in strobed flash pictures,
like little tableaus of the moment that happened before and then after,
and then seconds after and seconds before,
And then you realize watching some of those individuals coming down the stairs that if you stare long enough, you can see them all existing within their own bodies for longer than this moment.
Time feels strange here, Jackie, like you said yourself.
You can see for a moment the lead jack boot with his helmet tight against his chin.
you can see him physically age behind his helmet across the entirety of his life until it stops and reverts and comes back.
And you can see the entirety of this casino keep its corporealness, keep its shape, but change its value for the entirety of your incorporeal nature.
And you do find that you phase through just about anything.
including yourself. In this state, I will say that you can phase through floors as well as those,
to me, are objects. I don't think you could phase through the center of the earth, so don't go
trying that. What's the duration of this mirror, just so I have an understand it? It is for,
I was checking, it's for as long as I'm holding the shard of broken mirror. So as long as I
keep a hold of this piece of broken glass, then I'm...
There is a spark of anxiety in you then holding on to the only piece of you that is going to keep you alive moving through these concrete.
There is a brief moment, as all overthinkers have, an impulsive thought of you materializing halfway through the concrete and finding yourself split in half, not something that heals easy even for the dead.
So is your plan to run up to the second floor, phase through the third floor?
What does this look like?
That's, yes, so like kind of like speed runner, flash, quicksilver up the stairwell.
And I'm hoping, because at least with the speed, a little the momentum to kind of what I think, just down this, get a couple running start and then just try to see if I can jump through the roof to the floor.
and then reassess exactly like the office or, yeah, just to get to the third.
Beautiful. Yeah. So as you're doing so, again, that building is constantly shifting in its place
and those silvery strands of wherever this place you are continues to shimmer like the mirror
like the mirror you hold in your hand. You get up to the second floor. There's those strings of
penthouses. It seems that more individuals are coming through from a,
an access tunnel.
It looks like that tunnel leads to
some staircases
that lead down at the other end
of the second floor, essentially.
So if you're running lengthwise,
you guys are closer to the south
side where the main casino floor is,
all the way down at the other side, it looks
like they're coming up from a set of staircases.
But this whole
second floor runs the
square of the building,
and it does come close to that third
floor and that big windowed area that overlooks the entirety, where the house sits. And you think
from where you are, it would only take, you know, moving down this hallway for a while and then
floating up through to the third floor through that big window to get yourself into that area.
Is that what you're doing? Yeah. And if there's any kind of like those side furniture, like either
like a side table or even a chair, anything that I would do to like maybe get a running boost, I'll do.
that like do do do boom okay perfect um for you what i would like you to do give me one second
this was through your your blood rituals right uh that yes through my blood sorcery okay so could
you roll composure plus however many dots you have in your blood sorcery i can't have four successes
you hold on to that mirror tight there's no trouble
as you float through the wall, even as the anxiety spikes,
and you realize there's no room to breathe if you do come back to life.
Not that you would need to breathe anyways.
But you do filter through to the top third floor,
where you have made it into the houses overlook, essentially,
that same room that Mal had found themselves in before.
In this room, you're looking at a seating
area with a large TV
that's filled with
goddy art from
someone who doesn't understand it
but knows how to buy it.
Trophies
along the wall that really
don't really account for anything.
Tucky marble
inserts that act as
accent walls.
A big, huge
wooden desk with pearl
inset that overlooks
the house itself.
and the private elevator that sits within this room with a clear keypad and indicator for the lower levels.
Is there, since that right there is the keypad, before I go, my objective is just to actually face through that.
Is there, can I just do a quick scan of the room of anything that could help that I'm,
nah, I take that back. I'm sorry.
I'm just going to go ahead, I think because of time, in essence, I'm just going to go ahead, head towards that elevator.
A little tough to pick things up when you can't put the mirror down.
That's what I do. There's no point. So I'm just going straight to the elevator and we're going to find out, yeah, we're going to.
Okay. You move through perfectly the elevator with no trouble and you finally know what it's like to be now in a world where no door can hold you.
and you float perfectly down.
It feels bizarre because in this world there is no shade of darkness.
The values have just changed in such a way that you are just surrounded by this silver,
by these almost like plucking strings,
like you found yourself in the center of a cello,
and you floated yourself down in this perfect free fall,
and you feel the zero gravity of it all until you found yourself.
you fall down to the lowest level, and you find this long clinical corporate hallway,
and you essentially find the vault.
It's a little hard to tell that Mal is here, but Mal is here.
Mal is a shadow on the floor, so the two of you are sharing in your non-existence.
Just two and caporiole bitches circling each other.
Yeah.
Who exists less?
But you're down here.
I will say that the difference between you and Mal
in this circumstance is that Mal couldn't get through this door
because they are,
they can't get through hermetically sealed objects.
You have no such restrictions.
I believe I can still talk, like they can understand me at least.
Sorry, just want to double check.
Yeah, I can.
still be seen and heard, but can't interact with anything physically.
So if that's the case, I'm going to see a little shadow and would be like,
Hey, Mao. And then I'm just going to go ahead and just face through the door.
The shadow like shoots out two tendrils like, what the fuck?
Why can you go through and I can't?
Very angry shadow.
Two very angry, cartoonish black hands.
Beautiful.
We're going to go to Niles.
Niles, you're currently behind the bar waiting for your moment, waiting for that pit boss to clear out of the B room and give you an option.
And it comes. It comes just about the time that you hear a crack of a mirror to the north view.
The John Wick-looking motherfucker steps through the door, revolver in hand, scanning the room.
again
he has these eyes about him
that tells you that he's
definitely aware of his surroundings
and the fact that he
hasn't found you yet is just a matter of time
but he's back on the floor
what would you like to do?
Hmm, um
would you say that I have to jump
on him if I'm
if I've been hiding from him?
I would say it appears
so yeah.
Okay.
Because from my understanding, he's my responsibility
and I need to take care of it at some point.
What a responsibility he is.
Yeah.
But if there's nobody else in here but him and I,
then I would love to create those talons
that I normally make with my hands
and try to
try to get the jump on him.
Maybe disarm him.
Okay, so you're going straight for that revolver?
Yeah.
Unless I have to worry about bullets, the better I'm off.
That is very true.
This is a disarm.
Let's go with dexterity plus brawl for this.
Okay.
I got two successes.
Two successes.
Okay.
Tell me what this looks like as you dive after that revolver.
I think since the hand is extended, I think it's just taking both of my hands,
putting them together with all the talon, all the claw talon blades on the hand,
and just like trying to slice the hand as much as possible through.
So there is no arm there to use gun.
Perfect.
Okay.
You go to do so, those blades extending up from under the wrist as you sort of dive, roll out from under the bar here and into his line of sight.
But you realize just as soon as the blades are going forwards, a strong kick to your knee as you landed into position has cast your balance forward.
as he is retorted before your reflexes could get to him.
Instinctually, he had thrown you off balance
and essentially flatten you to floor in response.
He is then going to turn to you with that revolver
the second that he's got you on that floor,
and he's going to try to take an attack at you.
We'll call this round two.
Is there anything you'd like to do in response?
Do you want to try and dodge this?
Do you want to try and take something out at him?
I definitely, at the very minimum, would like to dodge.
If I can retaliate with a strike back after I dodge, then I would love to do that.
Beautiful.
Give me dexterity plus, we'll call this athletics.
That is another two successes.
Okay.
Okay, there is a margin of three, meaning that you take three superficial damage
as you feel this giant slug, enter your ribs.
This bullet extends out and fires through, and you can feel it pierce through to the carpet of the casino underneath as he gets a really good shot on you from your prone position as you try and dodge out of the way.
He is basically keeping the gun trained on you as the two of you have a traded blows here.
I'm going to say that let's go into round three with you.
What are you planning to do here?
Well, shit.
Let's see.
I'm going to see if I can close gap again.
That way he can't really use the revolver at me if I get too close up to him.
And then I'm going to try to shank him through the chest as I momentously run right ahead to him.
Beautifully.
You're trying to wolvering the distance while you see.
still can, just throwing yourself at full force at his chest there. You see in the split
second before you dive after him that he drops revolver almost immediately, expecting the CQC,
and move straight to his belt for something at his side as you extend. Go ahead and make your role.
That's still Dexon Brawl? Yeah. Five. Okay, five. Five success a total? Yes.
Life size is total.
Perfect.
The two of you come to what is almost a stalemate.
As you extend those blades up into his chest,
you see that what he pulled from his hands is this long,
almost like K-bar knife,
and possibly long combat knife,
that he uses to basically meet forearms with your blades
and push you up and skate the blade along,
your Wolverine claws and keep you off.
You do notice that probably his true intention there
is on the back of that K-bar, beautifully polished,
well-made, well-manufactured, clearly taken care of,
is an extended spiked wooden steak.
And so you two have met in this sort of stalemate
in the middle of the floor there,
as the rest of his men are starting
convene on this action here.
Okay, beautiful.
We're going to go to Sergio.
Sergio, you're in an elevator, my friend.
I only go by Burroughs these days.
Excuse me, Burroughs.
John, how you doing?
Burroughs is slow, but he ain't stupid.
And he knows that a kindred ain't gonna turn into so much fairy dust.
So he plays it real cool,
and the moment that elevator door opens,
and I mean the moment it opens,
I use my vampiric prowess
to leap at the door
and try to catch whatever invisible Aidan
might be waiting to get out.
Okay, so you are,
you're standing still until the elevator
reaches its top conclusion.
Got my hands in my pockets
and just whistling Dixie,
like it's no big deal.
Okay, beautiful.
Could you give me
this,
This will be funny. Give me an athletics plus strength.
Two successes.
You try to make it appear as though you have no expectation of what is going to happen here.
And that is what gives you an opportunity to even try.
As Adon pierces through and becomes visible, but instead of coming through the doors as
the doors come through the top of the elevator, his body becomes like a needle.
and pierces the top of the elevator through.
He throws his body full force,
strengthen above,
and breaks through the metal of the elevator above.
He is trying desperately to escape from you.
He takes two superficial damage from your attempts to grasp him,
but the margin of success is on his side,
and he manages to escape out of the top hatch of the elevator
that he's pierced above.
Damn, I'm full force run out the elevator and only the balcony stops me from going over the other side and I scream out, parties up here, people.
Okay, beautiful. You've broken into the house. So there's no attempt to go after eight on above.
I used all my momentum to run out that door. Beautiful. You come through into the house room. You call out into the balcony. Give me a charisma. Actually, let's call this manipulation. Manipulation.
plus intimidation.
Two successes.
Two successes.
You managed to draw attention most notably from those jackbooted goons, the rock security
with the submachine guns in hand.
And they wildly cast a shot in your direction as four of them post up, crouch, and take
train shots, but it's just too far from any distance they could clear with a gun like
that.
but you manage to take them off of the damage on Niles
and whoever is running rock security
enough so that Niles doesn't have to worry about 12 men
including what's happening to them right now.
He'll just drop down under the balcony.
Shit, shit.
Okay.
You're ducked under.
Is there anything else do you want to do in this room?
Okay.
All right, you see the elevator on the outside there
against that back wall.
You see the keypad clearly.
You see the numbers on top of it.
Not sure where Adon's gone off to, but the elevator is seated.
Both elevators, the one you just came out of and the one you have yet to go down are seated at your level.
Perfect.
Okay.
At this point, Sybil, do you have any actions?
B-form, you're outside.
Sybil, you're starting to hear police sirens.
You're starting to hear a panic of people.
people outside of the casino, you're starting to hear fire engines, or at least one of them,
turning somewhere onto Fremont Street. A lot of attention is coming this way. It is easy to note,
though, that some of those bouncers that were doing crowd control before are readying themselves
in this sort of walkable street here. That L bracket that rounds the corner of the silver dollar,
they're trying desperately to
sort of crowd control
and keep a lot of the bystanders
out of the way.
So it looks like they're mounting
some sort of plan here.
What does a sack of bees
got to do?
I want to go up to
the top of
the... I kind of want to go where the party
is. Because
Aidan is the most important.
I think
I think I'm going to go towards where Aidan
is and I'm going to try to help cut that out first. Yeah, yeah, that's my first thing.
So you're almost moving for the roof. Yeah, I'm moving for the roof. Okay, beautiful. It doesn't
take long for a sack of bees to get up there. What is the plan once you're up there? You're familiar
with this place. There's that sort of skylight that overlooks the mural that's painted onto the
glass there. There's the venting system you used to get in in the first place. There's
probably some hatches into the third floor there.
There's no sight of Adon if he is already on the third floor,
or already on the roof here with you, at least not in a corporeal sense.
Okay. I want to look for him, and I also maybe, I know I said I didn't want a flashback,
but I kind of want to have a second explosive.
Okay.
Just in case he is on the roof and we could make this go, you know, want it done.
So yeah.
What did you have to do to get this second explosive?
Where was it sourced?
I think it was sourced.
I think we got the explosives from Greece.
So I had, and if I float there in a little two-bird team, I have one and Spork had the other.
Beautiful.
And as I understand, Spork is still on the roof.
Okay.
Yes.
So you're just meaning to call for Spork and have him lug over this big plastic.
explosive for you to have with you. Go ahead and give me an animal can plus charisma.
Okay. Animal Ken charisma. Oh great. Two successes. With two successes. You just
gently call over to spork, trying not to draw attention to yourself. Well, hold on.
Do you have to stop being bees to call a crow?
Let me check that Unliving Hive skill,
because I do get the like martial skills of the animal that I am.
Yeah, can I like, I'm going to.
The martial skills, including calling out your eyes.
You know, you're a little bee dance.
The bees were crying.
The birds and the bees.
The birds and the bees.
Actually, actually.
These do communicate through dance.
That's science.
Imagine I've closed the book, Caleb, the birds and the bees.
I'll take it or leave it, honestly.
But yes, I'm going to try to single as much as I can.
You can call for this explosive.
You're going to have to come out of B.
I'm so sorry.
I will come out of B.
Can the bees form a shape into the message?
So pig.
Back at 12 today, gang.
Long come around.
Okay.
But no.
No, okay, instead of spelling out spork with bees,
I do want to turn into a big bird again.
Okay, beautiful.
I don't get hungry.
You gently call out to sport the second you come out of B
to come over.
With two successes, you just barely convinced the bird
not to caw after you, dumb as he is.
And he shows up with it, drops it into your hands,
and then you morph into that massive,
vultured form of you,
and what is Sybil's hands become quick talons
over the plastic explosives.
You can see where the C-4 has been imprinted
with the tips of your talons.
And you are now up here with it.
You have all of the added perceptions
of this hunter's bird
of Vegas's favorite scavenger.
What do you want to do?
I'm looking for Aidan.
Or like seeing if I can look through the skylight or perhaps stand over around where I hear Burroughs call out.
Okay.
Are you taking it to the skies for like a full 360 of the rooms?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I can get a better view.
Okay.
Give me a wits plus awareness and whatever you think the, if your vulture form gives you anything for perception, I'm not sure how that translates.
At this point is not much different.
Okay.
What a time.
All right, so I've rolled both of my hunger die that are skulls and then two successes.
Both of your hunger die that are skulls and two successes.
So, I need to real quick check on something.
Give me one second.
No problem.
Talk amongst yourselves.
You guys have fun now.
I want to try to blow A. Don up, but if I Hulk out, I'm sorry in advance.
You know, I think we're all kind of on the verge of something terrible happened.
Yeah, I've got three hunger.
I'm about to Hulk out.
Oh.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
That's good to know.
Okay.
And I'm not going to kill Sport, Niles.
I'm going to try really hard.
Please.
I have no interest in hurting this bird.
First, you blow them up.
then you kill their bird.
It feels so personal, and it is not.
Yeah, yeah, okay.
Reg I was going to just come to like three people freaking out.
For as many times as I've said, no, no, that's actually not a bestial failure.
We're feeling a hospital episode here because that two skulls and two successes
is not enough of a margin to find aid on on this roof.
that is a failure.
It's been a tough night, Sybil,
especially getting over the anxieties
that went into the last major project
that you all went into.
You're the master collaborator.
The leader in a lot of ways for this group
when John Burroughs is not the leader of chaos, right?
You're a voice of reason to these people
when they need it, and you're the coordinator.
So when the plan doesn't go right, there's only one explanation.
It's the planner.
And so you're feeling all of that tightness in your chest, all of that fire extending across your feathers,
and your talons are gripping around the explosive and in your mind replaying Nile's body
and the way it looked coming out of the flames before.
the flames that this will create, the flames that will start again once this doesn't go your way.
And the words of Teresa are echoing throughout you, words that resonate in failure, all of the ways that she would blame her losses on you.
Because that's just the way it goes, is it all gets passed down the chain.
but you're running out of links on that chain, Sybil.
Everything is running short.
Your beast is angry.
It's losing control.
It's losing the grip on reality.
And I'm going to give you a compulsion here.
I believe Sybil that you need to take a,
direct control of the situation in the most certifiable and explosive result.
You must guarantee success at the most dynamic and provable source.
You can interpret that in any way that you like.
I am not saying you have to blow up your friends.
I'm with you, with you.
Okay.
But you know how to read me.
You got it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Direct action.
Okay.
Let's want and done this.
Okay.
Do I have room to act on that compulsion now, or is that where I'm going to be when we come back?
Are you kidding me?
Act on that compulsion.
Fantastic.
That sunroof, huh?
Yeah.
I'm through it.
Okay.
Yeah.
Beautiful.
Are you intending for any target the second that you break the class?
I'm looking for.
for A Ventrue at this point.
Okay.
You're looking for anyone that you remark is kindred on the floor.
Yes.
Beautiful.
Give me an athletics plus your dots in, I forget the morphing one.
What's the...
Animalism.
There you go.
Athletics plus your animalism.
Wonderful.
Okay, okay.
I'm going to spend a little wheelpower.
Yeah.
Fantastic.
That's four successes.
It is beautiful. It is almost like a painting. The vulture breaks the mural and the night sky of Vegas, Nevada fills in.
Light breaks, moonlight falls, and the bird like Icarus breaks the skyline.
And the minute that you're in, that explosive is in your hands.
I'm going to tell you this. As far as Ventrue, there are none on the floor.
floor, but the most immediate kindred that you see that provides a threat is the one on top of Niles.
Rock security.
And we're going to take a dramatic break to go to a break for five minutes.
Ten minutes.
Who knows?
We're going to take a break.
Beautiful.
Welcome back.
Regal.
You are currently under Fremont Street in a series of access time.
that web underneath Las Vegas that act largely as flood control.
You're familiar with these.
They connect to the same sewer systems and flood systems that you live in to the south of Vegas.
But obviously these are much more tended to considering the swaths of people that run through this place.
Also, curiously, you have found in the last.
hour or so of scouting out this location, that this access tunnel is heavily guarded under the
silver dollar. For whatever reason, this seems to be a way in or out or both for the silver
dollars, more lascivious employees. You have found yourself in these access tunnels
round the corner essentially past these intersections,
and you find that there is essentially like a makeshift roadblock,
those concrete blocks they'll put out routinely for night construction
on highways have been posted up with more of those jackboots.
You have not got to know what clearly everyone on the main floor
is getting really acquainted with.
And they are posted up at these security guard,
locations. Rock security is lined this place up, and it looks like it's almost a straight shot
through this flood tunnel to a series of doors, essentially three doors at the end of this security
checkpoint that you assume must lead either up through or down into the bowels of the silver
dollar, or at least adjacent to it, because that is where the most traffic is coming.
coming out of. Would you also notice that before all of this mania began, before the
heist was overtaking, was that cars come and go from this place, passenger vans that
have found their ways into these access tunnels following like government truck paths,
almost similar to the same government trucks that ran you off the road a million years ago
when you lost your life.
Those sort of byways and inroads are being used by panel vans with no windows that have
been parked into this location, loaded up by individuals who have come out of those doors
and then driven off those same paths.
Here you are.
You're staring down a tunnel of many individuals to your one, but it definitely seems like a way
to get to the others and to satisfy at least the prevention of the prophecy you were given
when you looked into the future to see just how well this heist would go.
Okay.
No vehicle moving now, no vehicles down there?
It seems as since the bird went through the window, submachine guns went off,
the explosion in the kitchen happened.
The man in charge of the casino was shot in the place.
back of the head and the two people phased into the vault that there are other priorities.
Cool. Makes sense. How many people would you say?
Visible right now peeking around the corner. Go ahead and give me a stealth plus dexterity role.
Beautiful. Okay. That is three successes.
You managed to prevent yourself from being picked off with a bullet through.
your head give me an awareness plus composure beautiful all right ah four successes beautiful um you're guessing
15 fuck okay um okay i'm gonna look for a way to try to get around them at you know sticking to
the shadows sticking to the perimeter trying to get past them uh beautiful how do you intend to do
that are you visible are you slinking along the floor are you going to crawl the walls it's it's a
Essentially straight shot, imagine, with three separate barricades staggered,
and then those three doors against the back wall, and they've sort of packed themselves in.
Okay.
You could attempt a straight stealth roll.
Yeah, I'll give that a shot.
Okay, so just give me a general idea of where you're, like, crawling up to one of the barricades you're thinking?
Yeah, crawling up to one of the barricades, you know, trying to see if they,
they're like moving around in any sort of like, you know, organize, schedule, you know, effort.
And then just trying to be being cognizant of their lines of sight, just sticking to the walls, to the ground, to the shadows, just trying to creep behind.
Beautiful.
Okay.
Give me a dexterity plus stuff.
I can absolutely do that.
Oh, fuck.
That's one success.
If you'd like, you can re-roll any non-hunger die with willpower.
You can roll up to three again.
Yep.
Yeah, I'm going to spend a willpower to do that.
That's two successes.
Fuck.
Okay.
You turn the corner.
You hope for the best.
You're whispering to yourself, shit, shit, shit, shit.
You're hoping desperately not to be seen.
In your life, you were definitely a reporter.
but you were no Jackie.
You were no wartime reporter.
You weren't dodging artillery.
You were outing corrupt officials.
And unless it was a man money laundering
or fucking someone that wasn't his wife,
you weren't exactly an expert
at making yourself unknown
until it was the right time.
And this is showing itself.
Ragell, in your new life, you are a spiritual.
You're a Messiah.
You are one to be seen.
You are the third eye.
You are all about sight.
And that's why when you turn the corner, they can see you.
You hit for the dirt and to the barricade.
You try desperately to be silent.
But almost immediately, there's an indication from the right side to that angle into yours,
that by the time you hit the barricade, guns are already strung.
And there is a string of some machine bursts in your direction.
just to initiate a sort of stagger over you, to scare you into that corner.
I'm going to say that combat has started for you.
One V-15, let's see how Rock Al does.
What would you like to do?
I'm just going to pop out of cover and start.
I'm going to start blasting.
Okay.
You're going for the one nearest to you, basically.
We'll say that currently there are two behind the barricade.
directly in front of you, three behind the barricade to your right that is firing upon you.
So this is the first five, essentially.
Okay?
So I assume you're firing at the first two behind the block there?
Yep, closest threat.
Okay, give me a firearms plus your dexterity.
Okay.
Plus your shotgun merits, whatever damage that does for you.
So that's two successes.
Okay.
And then shotgun at effective range as a plus three, but I think that's the damage.
Yes, that is if you win the margin, essentially.
You do luckily win the margin with their one success.
So you do a margin of five.
Tell me how you wipe these two out.
Yeah, just essentially peaks around or over the barricade and just point blank fires.
And as soon as that those rounds hit, there's like, there's this incendiary effect as the rounds leave the shotgun and then they catch fire.
Beautiful.
Yeah, there is this moment where the round impacts.
And just before it, there is that ignition, that science experiment, that sixth grade volcano that goes off on their chest as they catch fire and are blasted back.
against the wall.
The first catches it along the chest,
enough that one spares through his neck
and he collides against the wall, his head clunking against the side.
And the other catches it along the face.
And you can see it pepper across under his visor,
essentially, and he is gone from life.
The two there are effectively dead.
From the side there, the three individuals
are going to fire on you.
They have two successes with a damage margin of four.
You take four superficial damage.
Oh, that hurts.
Okay.
Beautiful.
We're going to go to round two.
Again, there are three individuals to your right at the diagonal.
Making four, we've had five introduced.
It means there are another three at the next barrier.
That's, okay, we'll do math.
and then seven along the back hole.
Fuck.
That's 15.
I did it.
Yeah, that's a, that's a, that's a bunch.
Oh, man, that makes my, that makes me hurt.
Um, okay.
So I am going to, I'm going to try to use, uh, panacea to try to help some of these,
some of these people down.
Uh, could you explain for the audience and not the storyteller?
Because of course he knows everything, but also means what the hell does panacea?
do for us? So that's a composure plus Ospect's role and I soothe the mental or emotional turmoil
of my subject, restoring them to a modicum of steadfastness, especially effective when used on mortals
either to help them through momentary agitation or to calm them before feeding on them. Okay. Do you
have to touch these individuals? It does not say, let me see, doesn't say you got to touch.
All right.
Yep.
It's successfully used on a mortal panacea similarly calms them
if they're in a turbulent emotional state
or put some otherwise at ease.
Okay.
Give me one second here.
Yeah, no problem.
Beautiful.
So then we don't even have to roll essentially for that, right?
I do have to make a composure plus all specs against a difficulty too.
Okay, give me that.
Dude, one success. God damn it.
I'm going to spend a willpower.
That's brutal.
Yeah, one success again.
Okay, unfortunately, you push out these waves of ease.
In fact, you whip around the shotgun over the barrier, blowing back two individuals,
and then like a flash, you pull back the beanie, hoping that it's going to stun the other three,
waiting for this wave of energy to extend out over the crowd.
and instead
the three of them are reviled
and the first goes,
oh shit, what the fuck is that?
And they fire,
open fire on your ugly little face.
Let's do this.
Three successes
with a damage margin of plus two,
so five superficial damage
from the three in front of you,
my friend.
Third round of combat
and then I'm going to jump to someone new.
What's your?
intention?
Getting the fuck out of there, please, and thank you.
Okay.
All right.
So you're ducking back around the corner.
You want to retread some ground, see if you can weed out some more of these 15 before they
kill you.
Give me a dexterity plus athletics.
Sure can.
And they're going to fire on you before you leave.
Two successes, thankfully.
You take no damage as the margin is not.
meant. Beautiful. You duck around the corner. What's your intention? You're running as far as you can
or are you trying to bait them around the corner? Trying to bait them around the corner so I can use
the tunnel to try to filter them out and then fatal funnel them. Okay. Beautiful. So you're
posted up on that corner with shotgun ready hoping they're going to turn enough that you can
meet them in medium engagement. Okay. We're going to see how that works out for you.
But before we do that, we're going to go to Mal.
Mal, angry little shadow that you are.
Yes.
Little incorporeal, tenderal hands, very upset at the world, as always.
Nothing new.
Yeah.
You just watched Jackie sort of materialized for just a moment as this silvery, webbed shadow,
and then walk plainly through the vault as if nothing had happened,
and basically put the last, you know,
15 minutes of work from you completely to shame.
Yeah.
And you are left on the other side,
kind of poking against the hermetic seal of this vault.
Any play?
Yeah.
There is a, there is,
there's probably like 10 solid seconds of an almost cartoonish,
like, struggle to get through the hermetic seal,
just like the shadow gets really big
and tries to like hug the door
and like slip through any way it can
and then tries to get really small
and then like slow its way through.
And then finally kind of gives up
two little shadow middle fingers pop up.
Love it.
And then I'll turn around.
I'm going to go back to the fucking elevator.
And I'm going to go,
I'm going to go to let the others in
because I've realized that they don't
have abilities to phase through shit like we do.
Beautiful.
So are you coming out of your shadow
to bring the elevator down?
Yeah.
Beautiful.
Okay.
To get back in the elevator and go out.
I'm basically going to bell hop everyone at this point because I can get in out of the
elevator in a way that they can't without the code.
So I'm just going to be a bell hop for a couple minutes.
Beautiful.
You do not have to put in any sort of keypad coming back up because of course you would
have had to put it in to get down there to begin with.
So you become yourself again.
pretty short, but not nearly as short as you were.
You climb into the elevator and you hit the above button.
Yeah, and I'm going to try and stay in that corner out of sight.
So when the elevator opens, it's just kind of an empty elevator.
You hit the above button?
Yeah.
Mother fuck.
And it takes a century of hitting that.
above button before finally it starts and then the elevator goes two feet out and stops and then goes
back down to the first floor and then it starts again and then it goes back down to the first floor
and then it begins a third time and it actually seems as though it's going to start
but the light above you begins to strobe like you are at the worst nightclub in the world is
seizure-inducing strobe light above you as you are trapped in this hell and elevator music begins to feed in through the side.
This classical music that is beautiful in its own, but because of you has been modulated to sound like absolute computerized garbage, this awful wine.
And that is your trip up to.
Burroughs, you are greeted with a bizarre soundtrack behind.
you, as you think for a moment that this must be the pale writer telling you that you're going to die for the last time.
The elevator doors behind you open to this screeching string quartet behind you, the strobing of white and black shadow,
and in the center of this, you know, main character of the grudge individual that you call a friend is sitting underneath the pale black light.
And you realize it's just now.
Yeah, I see, Mal, I'll run over to my elevator where Marco was in,
knowing that he's still basically deaf, going to grab him from the shoulders,
pull him out, and we're both going to leap into the elevator before it closes.
Okay, Marco is in a state of shock that you've seen before.
He has been through so much that he's just touching at the sides of his ears,
which both are now bleeding horribly.
Both eardrums must have ruptured.
his face is glazed over
he has that thousand yard stare
and he keeps
touching his ear
and then taking it to his lips
and trading it
the blood from his ear to his lips
almost manically
as he is
toddled along in your hand
like the trapped individual he is
but he huddles into the new elevator with you
Mal this is Marco Marco Mal
What's up
Um, you want to, do you want to take this, uh, up and down for everyone?
Because it hates me. It hates me so fucking much.
We got it. We got Edon on the loose. If you really want to be useful, you find that fucker.
Yep. Do you want me to go Aidan or you have me to go security?
Yes, Aidan now.
Cool. Got it. I'm going to throw him the Sharpie.
See you when we find the code, it looks like, you know, and I'm out. I'm off to look for Aidan now.
Beautiful. Okay.
Good luck.
Mal, you come through.
Burroughs is going down.
Mal, in your search for...
Just to be clear, I'm holding the door
to make sure someone like a knolls or a...
You're waiting. I'm sorry.
Yes, yes.
Perfect.
Yeah, so do you want to hit the emergency stop on it inside?
I suppose if I have to, yes.
Okay, cool.
So that'll lock the door.
It's stuck in position there.
I'm not going to wait much longer than maybe a round.
So if nobody shows up at the end of this round,
I'm going down.
You're going down.
Got it.
Now, what is your search for Adon look like?
Oh, man.
Wait, where did you see him last?
He just went up that elevator and I'll point at the other one.
Oh, shit.
All right.
I'm, I'm gonna, sorry, I need to check something super quick.
I have one thing to check.
I would like to.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna pop shadow cloak on.
I don't have to do a check or anything for it.
It just happens.
The shadow is kind of spread out around me,
and I'm going to start going up that shaft,
trying to sneak and find this motherfucker.
Beautiful.
Okay, so you step into the elevator,
and just as Burroughs described,
where the hatch that leads up and above
into sort of the emergency access,
it has been pierced,
almost like someone, you know,
throwing their fist through an aluminum can.
And then broken free and open from where Adon, like a diver, through his body through the top of that elevator.
You climb the shadow up on top of the elevator and looking into this darkened shaft.
It does extend up.
It's almost as if there was room for a fourth floor.
It was never installed.
Must lead to emergency access or something.
especially because to the left of you is a ladder extending up.
Could you roll me a intelligence plus investigation?
Investigation.
Oh, good, good, good.
All right.
Oh, shit, sorry.
I lost one of my dice.
Uh, that's...
Okay, remind me because Orpheus and this are so close.
Six and above is a success.
If I have a failure, does it cancel out or was that Orpheus?
Don't worry about failures.
It's only if you succeeded.
The failures only matter.
Don't even count for failures.
Okay, cool.
Great.
Two successes.
Okay.
Thank you.
Sorry.
Totally fine.
Our failures only matter if we have bestial failures and we did not succeed.
Yeah.
Okay.
Sweet.
You client or I'm sorry, you see the ladder and it exceeds.
extends up to what is essentially another floor.
In the same way that most emergency access points for elevators,
they'll take you up into essentially the next available floor.
It looks like that's what it's doing.
Only it is not your traditional electronic access doors for elevators.
It looks to be like a full mechanical.
Like a gate kind of thing?
Yeah, like a pull and push door.
Okay.
Almost like one of those bar handles that you grip and have to pull extremely hard to get over.
Then I'm going to start climbing.
And there's nowhere else for conceivably from my kind of, it's just a ladder and a door and just shaft.
And then the shaft to the extent of the, yeah, that's where the shaft ends.
Just the head.
Great.
Thank you so much.
I'm just going to, I'm going to take the side of the shaft.
up to the, up to the doors.
As one does.
As one does.
I'm going to take the ladder up to the doors and kind of poke my way through.
Ideally being sneaky, but there's no real way to sneak open a door.
Yeah, I have to ask you, can you open doors as the shadow form?
I'm not, I'm not a shadow right now.
I've got shadow cloak up, which makes my shell higher.
Yes, I'm harder to see, and I can do higher intimidation, but that doesn't matter for him
because he's not mortal.
But it's just to bump myself if I need it once I get up there.
Give me a stealth plus dexterity coming through the door then.
I have to tell you that the second that you pull on that door, though,
it feels hard to hide.
Yeah, that's kind of what I figured.
A rustiness, a heavy steel door.
Yeah.
Worth a try.
Three.
Three successes.
Okay.
Yeah. You open the door and there seems to be this extension of pipes that follow through what you assume must be maybe the length of the casino, at least half.
And it sort of intersects along the top of this floor. You could go further into these pipes. On the left, there's another sort of category on the right.
But you do notice that at the end there is a staircase, like a iron-wrought staircase that runs up to,
which you assume is the roof since you can see moonlight peeling in onto the pathway.
Okay.
So pipes one way, moonlight other way.
Yeah, so intersection of pipes.
Maybe he's hiding in the left in this labyrinth on that section, right, where there seems to be more pipes and maybe an action.
access door, you think, and then on the end, up towards the roof.
Is there any way I can do like a check for like, I don't know, like dust that's been moved by
movement or any kind of evidence of what may, way he might have gone?
That's fucking awesome.
Dust that might be moved.
Yeah, give me a dust roll.
Investigation plus wits.
Okay, wits are better for me.
I'm going to use a willpower to re-roll.
Two of these because...
Make sure you don't re-roll the hungers.
Yeah, the hunger.
I have two that are hunger and two that aren't, so...
Got it.
Three successes.
Three successes.
You think...
I'll give you this, based on the movement of the dust.
You track it in the air.
You're thinking the dust will tell me.
And it does.
I mostly meant on the pipes, but I'll take it.
big dust in the air too.
The foot traffic and the handprints along what is essentially a floor that does not seem like
it's used very often.
Looks as though most of it is towards the staircase.
Okay.
That is where the last person that came through here went.
Cool.
Then I'll go with the quote-unquote evidence and I'll,
I'll start moving down toward the door.
Follow the dust.
Follow the dust.
Beautiful.
The pipes creak with every step,
and there are little billows of steam off of the left,
one of those systems.
And you find yourself hearing the whirring of machines,
mechanical gears, hinges somewhere.
It's completely silent.
and you get the sense that up here you might not be alone.
But you make your way towards the stairs and you get up to the steps.
And you can see the moonlight feeding onto the top of the silver dollar.
Yeah, I'll go up.
I'll go up to the roof and just see if I can see anything out there.
and then if there's nothing out there visible,
I may turn back the other direction, depending.
You step up onto the roof,
roll me wits plus awareness.
Wits.
Three successes.
Three successes.
You get up onto the roof.
You're looking, you're trying desperately to find if anyone is up here.
You see this weird crack in the skylight
where someone has clearly fallen through.
You're not sure if that was you, them, who knows.
Strange shape to the break in that skyline.
You see the venting systems.
You see the access panel basically that you just came out of.
You see the street level where from here you can see that the walkable streets below
have been almost quartered off, not by police and not by.
by the fire department, rather by these large black SUVs and these individuals in sleek black suits who are standing at attention outside them.
From a distance, can I tell if they're kindred or if they're mortal?
Is there any way I can tell from a distance or is it kind of a question?
You'd have to get closer, which you could maybe get a little lower.
on the wall or closer to the edge?
No, Serge, or not Serge, Burroughs were so worried about Adon
that I think that's my main concern.
Okay, given that there's no one up here that I can...
Wait, you said there was, there were like panels for air ducts
on the other side?
Yeah, venting system.
It's where your bee friend went down.
Ah, yes, our bees were there.
I may go check that out just to see if something's been moved or anything like that.
Yeah, give me an investigation plus wits.
I feel like I'm missing some.
Two successes.
Okay.
It's at that point when you hear footsteps on the steel grates that come from the hallway you came in from.
Um, in on the hallway I came in on, so that's behind me now.
Yes.
Down by the pipes.
I'm turning back then to that noise.
Beautiful. We will come back to you.
Do we have a Niles on standby?
Perhaps. Maybe.
It looked like they finished off their water, so they might have just gone to get some time.
Okay. We'll go to Jackie.
Jackie, you are inside the vault.
Things have changed down here, though.
Okay.
There is a noticeable shift in the air on the other side.
of the vault past the hermetically sealed door.
The stark white corporate holes behind you have given way to red uplighting that lines the
center of each wall before ending in a T-set intersection.
There is music play.
If you'd like to, you can roll a history or academics check to see if you know the song.
I can't roll academics and you said wits.
Yeah, let's do academics and...
Actually, let's do academics and intelligence.
That would only be two successes.
You might recognize it.
It's definitely classical in nature,
judging from the woodwinds in play.
I'm thinking it's either Bach or Beethoven.
Yeah.
There's this big T intersection,
and that's about the only place you can go.
You can go down the hall,
and there's a left and a right at the end of this hall.
Let's go down the hall.
But before, by the door, I just have to ask.
Is there a door handle or any kind of a thing that could allow me to open the door and prop it?
The ball from the inside you mean?
No.
Get to know.
Okay.
So I'll continue down the hall.
And you said it splits off, left or right?
Yes, splits off, left or right.
Which are you interested in first?
Or would you like to hear about it?
I would like to hear about.
All right, left or right first?
Left.
On the left intersection, an arch sits out of place.
More Etruscan architecture.
A perfect, beautiful transition into hard stone floors that overtake the next room.
The music plays loudest from that direction.
As I glanced down the right, I'm leaning towards the left,
but before I go down that, can I just take a glance down the right way, see?
Yeah, in the other room, stark white deposit drawers line the walls on either side of what you believe to be the house's base of operations.
Right.
There is a center butcher's block table where largely a huge collection of denominations of legal tender are kept.
And it looks like along the drawers, along the wall, many other things are kept.
I'm going to be like bang pot as I point to the blooms and other stuff.
But I will say, okay, I'll note.
It's like I'm noting that, but I won't lie.
I will start cautiously heading down the left, especially yet the left half.
Okay, perfect.
The music is so loud, it feels like a tuning fork in your body.
Your empty vessel holds the sound well, and the strings are powerful here.
It's like you were meant to feel the music in this room.
You're entering into what resembles a bathhouse.
There are four basins in each corner that form their own pools and then feed into a central fountain,
which spouts a fountainhead that plays over each basin.
Beautiful statues of delicate, young, curly-haired men pour from their faces.
The smell is overwhelming, enticing if it wasn't for the decay.
Stale blood forms in massive iron-rich pools in each basin.
Between each of the basins, on three of the walls in the rooms at their centers, stand the crucifixes.
Heavy, powerful slabs of the wood hammered and reinforced into the stone where the wall meets
ceiling, standing the height of it.
On them, three victims, martyrs, their feet still clung to the soul holds that keep them upright.
Unmoving and flayed from their skin, stem to stern, you can still see.
where the body's skin lies at the ankles, like a cape.
Two of the three have been completely drained of blood from a spigot
relating almost to a maple tap in the side of their abdomen.
They feed into the basins.
Interesting.
And the third one is it's because you said the two were tap dry, the third one.
Uh, go ahead and give me a wits plus investigation.
Do you spend a whittle power?
Okay.
Oh, much better. Okay, four.
Beautiful.
Uh, this man is still alive, but in such a state of delirium and blood loss,
uh, all you can see is the twitching of his feet along the soul marker.
Okay, um, Caleb, I just realized.
realize with this amount of blood, with this especially in since that is
involved with blood sorcery, is there something I would, can I like examine it a little bit
more of the blood itself? Like is there something that they're doing to it? Is it like
magical? Is it chemical or something that is altering the properties of it?
Yeah, you want to take a look at the blood specifically?
Yeah. And I think actually I mean, I have, do I have like think a corrosive,
scour secrets or something where it's like I do a rouse check and I can find out more
information about the blood the information is based two sec if you can give me two
seconds serene yeah take your time it's something to do with the blood itself so
totally take your time that will not work I apologize I instead I'm just
gonna try to do an examination of like the blood itself of course so
So let me get a, you know what, add your blood sorcery plus your wits.
I also have a question before you do this.
Are you touching the blood?
Not yet, because I can find more information if I even just do a dab of it, but I'm holding off on that because I want to see if it's the smell, not going to ingest something that could burn me from the inside.
Perfect. Then roll the investigation and then we'll do a separate willpower roll.
Four on that first one.
Okay. Give me one second.
Probably know it's bleach and I'm not drinking that.
I feel like as a kindred you could drink bleach though.
Oh yeah, probably.
Don't get COVID.
Like light bulb or something.
A classic 2020 joke.
In the fifth year of the pandemic.
I have Iron gullet.
So actually, oh no, that just means I could be.
No wait. Rancid blood.
Yeah, with iron gullet, you could drink stale blood.
Roll willpower plus a third of your humanity rounded down.
Yeah, okay.
Basically, my remaining willpower?
No, your total willpower.
Your max willpower plus a third of your humanity,
he rolled down.
Sorry, that took a little math.
Oh, wait, that's actually two crits.
That's two.
That's doubled.
So that's four, five, five, right?
Two, double five.
Okay.
Beautiful.
You can tell just from the side of this,
just from the location you're in,
just from what they've been doing here,
whatever they're doing.
That this must be some form of sacred boys.
It would require additional research to find out just how it's sacred or what it means and what
properties it would have.
But just based off this initial glance, you know, Jackie, that anything, any spell made
with blood from this basin would definitely have extreme properties.
It's great for blood sorcery.
Do you like to take something?
I would.
Here's a thing.
I have to then drop my piece of mirror glass.
So I'm going to, I would like, if it's possible, I would like to hold this action a little bit.
Basically, my intention, honestly, I do eventually would like to get the blood.
And it's actually super, super tempting.
So if they can open the door, I may go ahead and drop because I still have some vials on my wristband,
or at least my bandolier of knick-knacks of vials that I can fill the blood.
in, but I'm going to hold that for right now.
Got it until you can escape this place without being locked in.
It's very tempting, but I have to remember, I only got so many chances with this phasing.
So I'm going to hold.
Beautiful.
The final thing that you find in this room is against the back wall inscribed into the stone
in a very powerful engraving that is etched beautifully.
are the letters D-C-L-X-V-I.
Can you say that one more time?
D-C.
Yep.
D-C-L-X-V-I.
Oh, I think that's a number.
Okay.
I think it's a number as well.
Beautiful.
Niles.
Yes.
You are locked in combat with
the pit boss, as you've referred to him, the man who seems to be leading rock security
and seems to be wearing the icon on the tactical vest that sits underneath his
plain black suit, you are essentially forearm to forearm with a very strong combatant that has
been able to deflect your blades in a way that, well, really hasn't happened in Vegas by night.
and it is now your second time going up against him.
I'd like to ask what your first action is against him in combat.
Hmm.
So I'm on the ground and he's on top of me, essentially.
No, what we last landed at was you Wolverine up to him.
He took his K-bar knife and met you in the middle.
So imagine that you're doing like a fucking Marvel poster showdown.
a fight night poster of you guys forearm to forearm as you're struggling for who's going to push who off.
You're locked in a hold against each other.
Okay.
Do I have the ability to still maintain this like crosshold of each other but remove one of my hands from the situation to try to stab him while we're still kind of close combat and just like try to dagger him?
Absolutely you do.
You just have to roll better than he does.
Okay, yeah.
That was an opportunity.
Is that Dex brawl?
Yeah, let me see Dex brawl.
Actually, let me see Strength brawl
because you're also holding the arm.
Five successes.
Okay, five successes.
That's massive.
Okay.
Beautiful.
So you have a margin of two,
so he takes two damage from you.
Um, is that superficial or aggravated from your blades?
I can't remember.
Uh, while I'm using vicissitude,
yeah, I'm not sure.
I think it's got to be superficial.
Okay.
I figured as much.
Yeah.
I don't think, yeah, I don't cause it aggravated with this.
Uh, beautiful.
Yeah, you, you managed to get him with that.
Uh, he wasn't expecting you to stick with the hold and that extreme
display of strength hides the shiv just underneath the combat armor, and you can feel it enter.
And as soon as it does, you can tell that this is a kindred, as he has barely even expressed a disinterest in your attack there.
His gaze is directly on yours, and those hunter's eyes have not even bleaked from their focus on you.
but essentially he had attempted to stab into you with that K-bar knife
but the strength of the hold and the shiv out of it he was not able to push over you
and you were able to get that swipe off and the two of you break from that hold
we have our second round of combat what's your intention how long till Sybil shows up
because I know Sybil was like in the rafters if you'd like to bring Sybil in right now
we can say Sybil drops now.
Yeah, yeah.
I was holding the line until civil could finally enter stays left.
Hell yeah.
As you break free, Burroughs is being shot up from the top.
That ends and the two of you split and then crash through the window.
Sybil like Icarus falling through.
And the two of you are both distracted from a moment from your fight to watch as they fall.
what is your intention for the second round of combat Niles
and then I'll go to Sibyl and I'll resolve our friend here
I think with Sibyl in the way that they are
situated right now with I imagine the B.C.
O'Rage that you're dealing with.
I feel like game recognizes game
and I'm going to try to move towards the elevator
that Burroughs is still holding open
if that's still something I can do.
I'm going to leave, I'm going to leave Sybil to what all this is.
You're getting out of this.
Yes.
Give me a dexterity plus athletics.
That is two successes for me.
Okay.
Sybil, what is your action here?
I want to choke out people with my talents.
Okay.
Beautiful.
I understand that they have guns at the same time, so if I can start
snipping at arteries in their arms at the same time, that would be awesome.
But throats first.
Beautiful.
Okay.
So are you, you're not going for Niles as Target yet.
Oh, yes.
I'm starting with that one.
Okay, perfect.
All right.
So you're going for the throat of this individual right there.
Could you give me a brawl plus your animalism?
Yes, indeed.
Shaw is actually
And then animalism.
Great.
Okay, that's one, two, three, five successes.
Five successes.
Okay, that's massive.
All right.
Okay.
Simultaneously,
Niles, you duck out of there
and you run desperately for the second,
the third floor.
You're trying to get up there.
You're trying to get up there.
to escape this combat as you realize maybe you bit off more than you could chew,
or at least you'd rather meet him head on another day.
Sybil, you crash through and immediately heartbeat onto this individual and go straight for the throat.
Describe to me, Sybil, what it looks like as you're attacking him.
By no means are you killing him yet, but you're definitely getting some great hits in.
Yeah, I'm, I think not.
Miles at least sees a giant void of a blackbird that's about Sybil's size.
And then talons immediately on the chest with one on either side of the throat.
And I think because there isn't that much room,
Sybil is just quickly maneuvering using that momentum and like slamming and dragging
the body against the wall and pinning them there.
Okay.
Beautiful.
Yeah.
And just applying pressure.
Awesome.
Before that happens, there is the quickest motion, Niles,
as you're tossing your head over your shoulder.
And you feel it almost as quickly as you see it.
He's thrown it so fast.
That K-bar knife, as hard as he can chuck it,
he tosses end over, end, over end, and you can feel it pierced through your chest.
you take four superficial damage
and looking down
you can see
the poke of the mahogany wood
is maybe an inch away from your heart
torpor within a moment
you're just shy
and it seems that Sibyl has
provided enough of a distraction
to save you from
torpor.
Oh, tight, tie, tie, tight, tight, tight.
Keep moving.
So with five successes and no dodges to you,
is there any damage boost from your animalism
when you attack like that, Sybil?
Yeah, so it was in the roll.
Okay, he was in there.
So five is total?
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Okay, so he's going to take five superficial damage.
I think you hear Sybil attempt to say go,
but it is like
like overboiled
bad audio from Venn Diesel
with no voice.
It does not come out.
I love it. Clear at all.
It's beautiful.
Okay.
Beautiful.
All right.
We are going to,
let's follow Niles for a second.
Niles, you are washing
that K-Bar knife
as it's pierced through the back of you.
It's broken your thoracic cage.
It's inside of you.
your coming grips with your reality here, that this double-edged dagger was within seconds of
putting you to sleep for, you know, who knows how long.
Raquel had a choice in his.
Maybe you not so much.
But there's running involved.
There's more things to think about.
You crash into, well, is the elevator down?
Did Mal send the elevator down?
I can't remember.
Mal, did you send the elevator down?
Which elevator?
The one you went a lot of...
Yes.
Yeah, I don't think so.
No, no.
I didn't do anything with the elevator.
Would you like to use a flashback to say we did?
Absolutely.
At some point, Mal pushes a button and then leaps through the hole.
Yes.
Beautiful.
The elevator is down.
And Niles, you crash in.
into the back, a shoulder first into the break and hit the button and slide up.
The elevator doors ring open and you can see burrows holding the doors, emergency stop going.
You guys are across the way from each other in the house's room.
Yep, I'm going to hop on. I'm going to hobble on over there and get it perched in a
corner and try to assess further the situation now that there's somebody with me.
Beautiful.
Okay, so Niles and Burroughs pile into the elevator.
Burroughs, is that satisfying enough for you?
Are you waiting for Sybil downstairs so you can still hear?
I let Niles come through, just kind of back up, let the doors close, and I just look at them and
like, God damn, I thought I would look worse than you.
Could you help me get this out of my chest?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'll reach for it.
Gentle, gentle, gentle.
Gah!
Burroughs, you look down, you realize your sort of dripping vitae for a moment, too,
is you had to grip the blade of the K-bar just to get it through
as the handle is sitting perfectly in the center of what is Niles.
But you pull it free.
I pull it free, and then I remember that I once tasted Niles's blood,
and I see it all the night.
Don't do it.
I need it.
Don't do it.
I'll give it a lick.
Oh, my God.
I need it.
Roll a willpower plus a third of your humanity rolled down.
I love when Sergio gets chaotic.
I fucking love it.
It's my favorite.
Humanity.
It's just so much dice.
Jesus Christ.
Here we are, saints.
Here we go.
We make our own problems, babes.
I have the knife back.
Five? A total of five successes.
A total of five successes.
You managed to get a damn good lick of that perfect vitae and still keep your composure.
And God, is it rich?
It's so very, very good.
Come on, we're still in this.
We still in this.
All right, after Burroughs is a line of Coke, the elevator begins to descend down to the vault level.
and you guys are looking in the face of what Jackie is on the other side of.
Is there anything the two of you would like to do now that you're down here?
All right, we got down here. What do we do now? The door's not open.
Burles is going to stumble out, you know, listening to Niles.
I'm looking for the surveillance room, actually.
I'm going to start looking for doors to start busting open.
Okay, beautiful. Give me a wits plus awareness.
Two successes.
Beautiful.
There is a perfectly white corporate door on your right-hand side.
I can barely even notice it, save for the handle.
And are you throwing the door open?
I should ask you first.
Yeah.
You throw the door open and you find what must be the house security.
There is an array of monitors all focused on the main floor for the most
part, but they quarter across the exterior, including some service tunnel cameras, where you can
see there is a scramble on the footage of men rounding around a corner, where you can clearly
see Regel is cascading around a corner with a shotgun in hand and two dead guards
on the floor of what you can see clearly labeled is service time.
but you're in an array essentially where you're looking at what must be their digital system.
Burles is going to rush over to the control center and try to figure out how to unlock this damn vault.
Beautiful. Give me a technology plus intelligence.
Oh, fuck.
Give Elvis an iPhone.
Also just going to throw out a flashback?
Yeah.
Oh, Jesus.
even with the hunger die one success.
Okay.
Yeah.
He's just smashing keys.
Yeah, you're like Googling vault door.
It's not good.
The most you do is change some of the CCTV cameras.
And it doesn't seem as though you're making much progress.
I'm going to use my flashback.
And I have paid heavily, paid handsomely,
one of the security guards
who was off that night
to tell me how to open the damn vault.
Okay.
Beautiful.
You were told by that security guard
as you're crashing those keys,
you're reminded of how much money you sank into that guy
hoping that the return on investment
would be past the vault.
And you remember him telling you
that there's some cryptic fucking code,
a couple digital,
of numbers put together that you put into the system on a program, on the desktop of the server
inside of that array room. If you have the code, you can get in just easy.
Burles just yells at Niles. We need a code. Someone needs to get a code. Beautiful. Let's go to
Ruggel. You've rounded the corner. We're going to do three rounds of combat with you. Let's
get you out of this mess.
What's your intention?
Can I invoke a flashback, sir?
Yeah.
I would like to, if possible,
see if I could have strung up some booby traps
to lead these cats into.
Beautiful.
What are these booby traps they're about to walk into?
Either Claymore Mines.
Oh, shit.
If that's possible, or
you know,
just some jury-rigged, you know,
you know, homemade explosives to try to, you know,
IEDs.
Yep, IEDs, baby.
Okay, beautiful.
So rather than our previous picture of you ducking around that corner and a fray,
trying desperately to get away,
now we see a calculated Rangel who has baited them securely.
You were always meant to be seen.
It was always part of the plan.
You were trying to bait them through into the minefield you'd been setting for the last hour while you were scouting.
You stepped delicately in between these homemade explosives that you bought off grease that you're still unsure of as while you were making your way into the access tunnels.
One of them went off without your intention.
So you know already that these are volatile.
He told you himself that he had packed some of them with his own forks from his home as a little memento for you.
But these little tin can explosives you have set out in this array and managed to obscure in such a way that you are darting in between.
Tell me what happens as this team of, we'll say seven of them around the corner in this tight grouping.
spaced out enough that they can get windows on you from multiple angles.
What is it that they encounter?
How do they see you or you sending an image to them as they turn the corner?
And what does this look like as it happens?
Yeah, if anything, Regel is just purposely, like, almost amateurishly
to try to think that they are closing in on him, like half behind cover,
like leaning out super you know stupidly um and as soon as they trip the trip wire it sets off the daisy
chain and these can these these homemade iEDs start going off and when they blow there's there it's not so
much the you know the concussion of the explosion but it's the shrapnel they send out right shredding
through armor clothing flesh beautiful uh give me a wits plus
Let's call this firearms.
Oh, that is a good motherfucking role.
Let's see here.
That's a good pool.
Oh, I'd like to introduce something to you guys that I should have in the past,
but there's an advanced rule called the brutal attack.
So when you're facing multiple weaker targets, such as a group of mortals,
what you can do here is if you want to leverage your vampirism against their
weaker existences.
You can make one of your dice
pools an automatic
tent.
And then everything else
you roll to meet.
You can do that once a scene.
So I'm introducing this now.
I should have introduced it before,
but I'm introducing this now.
So with these folks
coming around the corner, if you'd like
Raquel, you can
throw down an automatic one
crit, meaning you'd only have to roll one
more 10 to
guarantee a perfect crit and you already have one success. It's up to you. Yeah, so I rolled a four,
so I'll go ahead and use that. Okay, beautiful. Beautiful. Okay, yeah. So all of these individuals
are taken out almost immediately. The explosives go off and you have to shield your three eyes and you
yourself end up getting one of those perfect sterling silver forks in your forearm or at least
the head of one. But the rest of them are riddled with the remains of all of these scavenged pieces
that Greece so lovingly put together. And it is a scarring visage of all of these individuals
walking around with pieces of tuna cans in their faces before they fall to the floor
and die immediately in front of you. Seven of these individuals have been white,
there are three more around the corner.
That is our first round of combat.
The seven had an action before you killed them.
So we are going to move to our second round of combat here.
Unfortunately, these mines have now put you back into the line of sight.
Those three individuals who have moved to that first barricade.
So they're behind cover as well.
What's the movement here?
What's your plan?
Can I check to see what these security guys have on them, like flash bangs, anything, on their bodies?
What are you looking? Are you looking for anything in particular?
Yeah, I'm looking for something I can toss to distract. So like I'm hoping they have flashbangs or some sort of like distraction device on them that I could use to throw around cover and force them out.
I think it would make sense for what is essentially a private military force to hold flashbangs. These guys are so much more than security.
You're, you're shocked that they haven't been reported on before that you've never heard of them.
But yes, they have flashpanks.
I would allow that.
Yep, I'm going to grab one, pull the pin, and throw it in an attempt to get it behind that barricade.
Let me get a firearms plus, yeah, firearms plus dexterity.
Beautiful, sir.
Doop.
Oh, that is three successes.
Three successes, I'm going to say, well, let me roll for their margin of success before I'd say.
You do succeed in the first.
flashbang, you are going to take one superficial damage as one stray bullet from out of the
shock in their eyes manages to hit you in their manic burst.
I am now in aggravated damage mode.
Oh, good. Okay.
Beautiful.
So you are, I'm assuming moving in as you throw that flashbang too.
Yep.
Okay.
So third round of combat, you're up against that barrier.
with them, they're recovering from that flashbang. What's the movement?
Just unloading, unloading on them. Okay, so it's going to come down to whether the two of you can outgun each other. Let's roll.
Yep, got it. Just the firearms? Yep. Beautiful. Yeah, baby. That is four successes.
They have one success among them. So with a margin of six points of damage, they die. They die tremendously. Tell me what this looks like.
Yeah, he's, he, you know, remembering what little training he actually got as a lowly public affairs guy, you know, he, you know, maybe stuff picked up on fucking YouTube or whatever.
He, you know, moves around the cover to flank and just starts pumping rounds into the three that are still there.
Beautiful.
They, they die tremendously.
And you are left in the remains of this access tunnel.
Up there on a monitor burrows as you're yelling back to Niles about the key code you need,
you now see alone, Raquel, winded, not so much winded, they're dead, you know, traveled by this tunnel, we'll say, hurt by this experience,
but cascaded around by just hounds of bodies as he moves for the entry to.
doors.
One last thing.
One last thing.
Yeah.
I'm going to find the most intact rock security uniform I can and I'm going to throw that shit on.
Beautiful.
All right.
We'll say that you are disguised.
Are you going to go in through those doors at the end?
I am.
Okay.
Beautiful.
You enter essentially into a series of staircases.
Well, I'm going to ask you this first.
Three doors, left, middle.
left, middle, and right.
Which one are you going through?
Do I have an option for a premonition?
Yeah, you can do a premonition here.
Okay, all right.
So that is resolve plus all specs.
It's two successes.
Two successes.
Middle feels good.
Going middle.
Okay.
Series of staircases, three flights.
No additional doors.
on each of those flights. It's just a plain staircase rounding up. It's almost like a subway complex.
At the top of that, there's an additional, like parking structure door. Are you going through?
Yep. Beautiful. And through that, there's another hallway of this sort of white painted brick with
blue lines that run up to a door that is clearly reinforced by security.
It is steel.
It is electronic.
It is hermetically sealed.
There is a keypad on the right side of the door.
Okay.
Any chance that Regal would know about those Roman numerals?
Let's go to Jackie and see if Jackie has any way to speak to all of you.
So I'm assuming, I believe, when Burroughs might have.
have shouted, I need a code.
How I would like, Jackie would be like,
kind of be like that would shake her out and then run back towards the door.
Problem is, can't be hearing that on the other side of the vault.
The vault is tremendously reinforced, this thick walls.
If only we had some sort of communication device.
We have, because flashback.
Oh, wait, hold on, Zach.
Cell phones?
If only in this day and age, we had something in our pockets.
Technically.
Hit the group chat.
It's interesting because everything on me is we see through.
You can bring a phone.
Is it possible if I had it with me?
I can't use it, but I would see any texting, correct?
Because I have it on me.
you're asking if in the ghost world you can see your texts
back to ghost phones gang
yeah this is an orifice question
and this is not me just trying to be a smart
I was genuinely like because if I have my clothes on
and everything else
you're hoping somebody else texts you that we need a code
yeah I don't think you can see your text
I think you look down at your phone and it is a web of silvery
porous strings
well there's nothing much I can really do here so
unless you drop that
mirror.
Can you stick your head out the wall?
That's true. That's what I would think about dropping the mirror, but then I'm like,
hold on there, I got a good. I'm going to go ahead and pace back out thinking,
like is Mao back or anything because from where I left,
Mal was still out there. So I'm going to go back towards
Mal.
Yeah.
Beautiful. Going back towards Mal, you hear a cursing, angry,
sort of coped up burrows off of Niles's blood,
screaming at Niles.
We need a fucking code.
Give us one, Burroughs.
If I didn't know he was right there,
do I just like immediately show up right in front of his face?
Sure, yeah.
You're like,
ah, Jesus.
I'm going to repeat D.C.L.XVI.
That's what I saw.
The Roman numeral, like, D.C.L.X.I.
I know that sounds, what is that?
Burles realizes, like, they're just spinning some kind of code at them and then finally goes back up to the keys and types in that exact code.
Okay.
It takes some decoding that anyone would like to turn into numbers here?
Oh, yeah.
If it requires decoding, then Burles realize that.
Isn't that like six, six, six, that's Roman numerals.
Like, that's where I'm like.
You put in the code, 6666.
It's 666, and the vault door opens.
Yes.
Let's move, let's move.
Quickly, quickly.
Beautiful.
So you're all coming through minus Sybil and now.
Yeah, we're scrambling towards the vault.
Raquel's not there yet either, right?
Raquel is not there yet.
Okay.
If possible, I will relay very quickly what I see.
I'll be like, here's the money in this.
Down the side, we got some magical blood.
If anyone's willing to grab some, I would really appreciate it.
You let everyone know what the update is.
Looks like Raguel was working on an exit strategy for us.
Wherever he is where we got to go.
Okay.
I'm going to go ahead.
Yes, Caleb.
No, go ahead, Jackie.
When I get that info, because I'm still in that comporial form,
I can go ahead and translate.
So I'm going to start running out to find Ragel.
Okay. Beautiful.
Wait, rat gal's here? Who would I thought?
And they probably like, I haven't seen it.
I'll ask all of you, would we like to resolve what's in the vault right now,
or we'd like to resolve some of the loose ends here?
Well, I know that Burroughs would certainly smell all that blood with three hunger.
But if he can maintain himself, he will probably go to the money.
all along dragging Marco along with him.
Okay, it sounds like we want to see what's in that vault.
Okay, so yes, you do ignore what looks to be a pretty freaky little archway there.
It just smells so good.
Yeah, it is very stale, but you've got that iron gullet, baby.
I think you'd be okay.
I'm hungry.
Just as you turn the T-section corner, Niles, I assume you're with Burroughs.
I'm right behind Burroughs.
The three of you turn that corner and inside of that right room, the one I've described as the base of operations,
a section of the wall opens and begins sliding across.
And from inside an individual walks into view, dressed in a rock security form.
Rag out.
son of a bitch you got good timing boy
let's get the fuck out of here you guys get everything you need
I'm gonna throw them a bag each of them gets a duffel bag
would you guys like to know what's in this room or are we just taking the money
oh I want to go to the fucking room
let's have the room okay how much time are you guys spending in this room
three to five minutes max yeah burrows is gonna mostly just shove cash into the bag
beautiful pick a representative
of the three of you here, or I guess four of you,
if you'd like to put it and ask it a roll.
Whoever your representative is,
they'll be rolling wits plus awareness.
I got a good pool on that.
I've got four,
five, six.
Right, Gil, try to figure out what the hell is in these boxes.
Okay.
Loaded question, Caleb.
Would my occult Galconda specialization
factor into any of this?
No
Cool
That's all I need
I will make the roll
Oh God
I'm so fucking nervous
Here we go
Three successes
Three successes
Okay
Would you like to know
How many of the things you've found
Sure
You've found five out of six
Beautiful
Let's discuss
Empting the
of vaults, you have accounted for what you believe to be $1.9 million in multiple denominations.
That's awesome. Okay.
You have found an envelope that reads off an address on the front of that envelope, and below that address it reads,
that address it reads, watch your step. The letters W, S, and E are capitalized. You find a briefcase,
unopened, but unlocked. You find a very expensive, well-pressed suit, still in its casing,
designer with matching tie and cufflinks. There is a noticeable stain along the collar that it
seems someone has tried desperately to remove. You find a silver-tipped cane, the palm of which is
adorned with a crown. It is expensive and gaudy, but beautiful. And finally, you find a VHS tape
labeled neatly with a tab of tape, reading Teresa's. Okay. Bagging and dragon, baby. Let's do this.
I assume you guys
$1.9 million.
$1.9 million,
which loosely translate if you were to split
at seven ways, about $275,000
for each.
Fuck, yeah.
Cool.
You could get a nice little down payment
on a house, guys.
Yeah.
Beautiful. Are you guys taking all this out now?
Are you taking the service tunnels now?
Burroughs has to finish the job
of destroying the
surveillance cameras.
Got it.
So before running out of the room,
shoving a bunch of cash into the bag,
he will walk up to Marco, take the bag from him,
and say,
you were the best friend I could have had for this moment.
And then I will bite his neck.
Okay.
Shoot. Shoot. Shoot.
And my, yes,
my intention is to bite his neck.
And then when I feel like I'm getting close to the end,
I'll put my gun up to his chest and just,
twice.
Okay.
Beautiful.
Wait, do we want them to know that a kindred put him in there?
It's
the bite of a kin...
So much fed on him is all that's going to come across.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
You can also hide the bite.
Okay.
You essentially can lick a bite clean
and it shows no...
That's what I do.
I just need...
Like, he's so hungry.
He just wants a taste. He wants to knock down a hunger, finish this guy off, and then he's going to run back out the vault to that security room.
Okay. I'm going to say since you technically did kill this individual, you can take zero hunger, but you receive a stain on your humanity. So mark one stain.
Got it.
Beautiful. So you're just leaving him dead here in the...
In the vault specifically.
Oh, in the vault. Okay. In the vault.
room with all of the money essentially.
And then you're running for the security room.
Yes. I'm going to, yep, I'm going to make sure that he's got his hand on his gun and then I'm
getting up and I'm going to say, I'll follow you shortly. I just got to finish the security
room and I'm running.
Beautiful. Okay. We're going to go to Sybil.
You are upstairs on the main floor. You have this individual wrapped into this hold three
rounds of combat. We're starting now. What is your intention?
I want to
I can't kill him
Yeah, I want to choke him out
Okay
So
that to me is a strength
Plus brawl
Okay, beautiful
That is
Half bird skills
Half civil skills
Okay
I'm gonna use a wheelpower
Fantastic
That's three successes.
Okay.
With a critical success, I have the margin for success over your three.
Okay.
You are going to take eight points of superficial damage.
As you are slung in close, you are choking the life out of him,
and he is absolutely going to take those three points of superficial damage.
damage himself, but he does manage to reach out, grab that rhino revolver from his side,
pull it up to the beak of your bird brain, and pull the trigger twice as hard as he can,
soft pulls. And you can feel this spray. If you had anything up there, it'd be blowing out the
back of your head. He gives you the Aidan special, and you can feel this immense amount of pain
is you take eight superficial damage.
That is your first round of combat.
Okay.
We move into second.
I'm going for biting the hand that has the gun in it.
Okay.
An attempt to disarm or to hurt, I should know.
Disarm.
Okay.
Understood.
Yeah.
I will say real quick, Caleb, one thing I would have done is he would have dropped his bag off
with somebody and knowing that Mal and Sybil were not with them and begin making his way up
to try to back them up.
Okay.
Okay. So you're heading up.
Yep.
I would have left my bag with Burroughs and Jackie and Mal, or not Mal, but girls and Jackie
and Niles and start heading up.
Will put you into the main floor and third round of combat.
So following this round, we'll say you show up with the elevator.
Now, is there anything you'd like to intend to do in this section?
We haven't heard from you in a while.
Is there anything that you would like to be a part of here?
I know you kind of lost the threat on Aidan up there.
No, I heard the footsteps behind me, and I doubled back for those.
You're pursuing those still.
Okay.
Yes.
We will go back to that.
It almost is such a problem for us that I'm not letting go of it until I'm forced.
Yeah.
Beautiful.
We will handle that as soon as I'm done here with Civil then.
Okay.
I just wanted to see if you were pivoting towards the civil second round of combat.
You're making your attack.
Go for it.
or you're disarm.
Give me,
I think this is dexterity plus brawl.
You're trying to be quicker,
trying to remove the threat
rather than attack the threat.
Sweet.
Okay.
Four successes.
Four successes.
Give me one second. I just need to check how this works.
You're so close, y'all.
We are so close.
We can clinch this.
We can do this.
Yeah, I think while all of this bunker stuff is happening,
you just see like a five-foot-tall-bird swinging around a dude
all over the dance floor.
It's a good vampire club.
It's a good golf club.
Five-foot-tall bird?
Yeah.
They got aerialists.
So we changed the name of the club, too, five-foot-tall-bird.
Five-foot-tall-bird.
So I'm sorry, you have four successes?
Yes.
Okay.
you disarm him successfully from the right-hand side and the gun goes flying from his fist.
But in an ambidextrous motion, he serves a left-hand hook that feels debilitating to your body.
You receive six points of superficial damage as he trades for four on his right-hand side.
You can feel his fist come across your face, and it is one of the first.
the most painful experiences of your life as he extends across perfect form like he's been
boxing his entire life added by his undepath. We are entering into a third round of combat.
I'm going to take Sybil's action and then Raigel's action and then mine.
Sybil. What are we up to? I think this is really bad and really scary. So Sybil is going
to become as human as possible in this moment.
and just try to bite him and take him with her.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah.
So if this goes well, Ragel walks into a room of Sybil with the back of her head blown out
and sort of dragging this juice box of a man towards him.
Okay.
So you are attempting a bite attack.
There are rules for this one that I don't remember.
Let's find out.
Give me a strength.
Plus brawl.
If you succeed, it's two aggravated damage.
Okay.
But it has a higher something.
Let's see.
Last rule power, baby.
It's worth it.
Five success.
Five success is okay.
Give me one second.
I just want to look up and make sure I'm doing this correctly for the bite attack.
Sorry, gang.
Give me one second.
No problem.
Okay. Okay. You said five successes.
Yes.
Okay. Raggel, uh, your action on the third round, you round out of the elevator.
You're coming through onto the main floor and you can see them over by the bar.
You think you can get over there within a term.
Yep. I'm going to, I'm going to rush over and I see Sybil's in kindred form, human form now.
Okay. So I can clearly identify Sybil, but they're locked in with the pit boss.
So incendiary rounds probably not a good fucking idea.
So I am going to get as close as I can,
and I am going to attempt to quell the beast in the pit boss.
Okay.
Can you do me the specifics again on what quell the beast would affect you?
I can indeed.
So by locking eyes of the target, the vampire cows their inner beast into temporary slumber.
Vampires, beast, you'll urge is temporarily a bait for better or worse.
I don't, would that apply here?
I don't know.
Probably not.
Read it to me one more time.
I'm sorry.
Okay, yep.
By locking eyes with a target,
the vampire cows their inner beast into temporary slumber.
Vampires' bestial urges temporarily abate for better or worse.
While their beast is quelled,
vampires do not score messy criticals against vampires.
This power lasts a turn.
Plus a number of turns equal to win margin on the contest.
So it would prevent Sybil from taking a critical
if he were to roll one here.
Okay.
Actually, okay, what I'm just going to do is I'm just going to see Sybil locked in with this guy and just shout.
Sybil let him go and then I'm going to bring the shotgun up.
Okay.
Sybil, is there any response?
Your bite attack is still going to go through, but I'm going to give Regal's turn some effect here.
I'm going to allow you to respond to make an action.
You could let go.
You could keep going.
Yes.
I want to let go very much, given that this is a compulsion.
and what Sybil believes is solving the problem.
It feels fair to at least roll to let go, maybe.
I think that's totally fair.
How about this?
Why don't you use Quill the Beast on Sybil?
Oh.
That'd be helpful, actually.
I'm going to do that.
I'm going to lock eyes with Sybil,
and I'm going to do my charisma plus animalism
versus Sybil's stamina plus resolve.
Okay, great.
All right, let's do it.
So, okay.
Okay.
That's three successes.
That is also three successes.
Oh, shit.
But meets beats?
I don't know.
Or we could willpower.
Yeah, let me roll willpower.
I got some willpower to burn still.
Okay, good.
I do not.
Okay.
I think it is meets beats.
Yeah, let's spare your willpower.
Let's say meets beats.
Um, Raigel, tell me how you help Sybil out of this compulsion, this overthinking, this need to succeed, this detriment to their own health.
Locking eyes with Sybil, hoping that they now recognize that Raigel is there and is backing them up.
You know, takes, he takes the rock security helmet off to expose the third eye.
So it's really fucking obvious.
Um, and instead of shouting.
quietly says,
Sybil, let him go.
Sybil puts her hand on your shoulder,
probably still convinced that it's a talon.
And in finding purchase in your shoulder,
is that you're like actually really here
is enough for her to just sort of like growl,
snarl, pull back and leave him on the ground.
But she stalks,
away. Okay. So the bite attack goes through and the individual under you did take two aggravated
damage. But as this quell the beast moment happens and the two of you are distracted within that
moment, you see him reach into the pocket of his suit jacket, crushed something in his hands
and fade from view. Do I have time to like unload a couple rounds where in general
where that pit boss was at?
Yeah, absolutely.
Actually, I want to use Sense the Unseen.
Okay.
And that is five successes, baby.
Do I contest that?
Yes, I believe so.
Let me see real quick, Sense the Unseen.
It's against a difficulty you choose.
Here's what I'm going to do.
Right down.
Okay.
You, Sussain.
succeed, he is not here.
Got it.
The two of you are still in a room where these individuals who had been watching their
boss have this Ted-a-Tet with first Niles and now a bird, there's still a league of people
in here.
What's the plan for the two of you before I go to Mel?
How is it, well, it's obvious civils and rough shit.
with the back of their head blown out.
Yeah.
This is a dumb motherfucking idea.
He's gonna,
can we say like one of the wounds he incurred
was on like an arm arrest like somewhere?
Oh yeah.
She like put her nails in your shoulder.
Yeah.
He doesn't say you need to drink.
That's a dumb idea.
You're fucked up.
I don't think there's room to talk at this point.
They have taken.
At this, I think it's like 14 points of superficial damage.
Yeah.
I think they bite your shoulder.
How's your willpower looking, Zib?
I got one of them.
I'm going to give the two of you.
I'm just going to explain the situation to you.
For this frenzy test, it uses your current willpower.
That would be one plus your third rounded down humanity.
What kind of a pool is that?
Okay. Third rounded down humanity. That's a pool of four. Half our hunger die.
Okay. Give me one second.
I just completely fucked up and I said Sybil's name.
Hey.
Hey. Oh.
I was a big bird now me. It's not the first mistake. Also not, well.
Uh. Oh shit.
Raguel, what's your, no, you're fine. What's your Bain severity?
two.
Okay, so I'm just putting it out here.
You have a possible pool of four.
The dice roll is a four.
So as you drink from this,
you need a perfect success here.
Or you will uncontrollably drink from this person.
Would my Quill the Beast have any effect?
Will your Quill the Beast have any effect?
I think it said it lasted for a turn.
Stand by.
One scene or a number of turns equal to test margin plus one.
Test margin plus one.
Be matched.
Okay, I'll reduce the difficulty of the pool then,
since there's no real rules for what Quell the Beast would do in this situation.
I think it's fair that you have a dice pool of four,
your DC is now three.
Okay.
Okay.
What's you got, buddy?
I can't even spend a willpower to make it different.
No successes.
Ooi, oie, oie, oie.
All right, everybody.
Okay.
Let's take a 10-minute break.
You motherfucker.
Flurpee.
So the nature of this is that the salubri blood
causes your bane to trigger, Raigel, meaning that it is exceptionally difficult to deny the sweetness
of you. That means that Sybil, your perfect failure of the frenzy causes you to drink
every single drop you can get. What this becomes is a struggle. We're going to go into a round of combat.
Here's your instruction, Sybil.
You will do everything in your power to bite, feed.
That is all you're doing.
You are to drain him of every last drop until you are pushed off of him.
And at that point, you will be given a frenzy resist again, the same dice pool.
If you fail that, it continues.
And it will continue until one of you is dead.
Okay.
Sybil, first round of combat, go ahead and roll your bite attack.
That is a strength plus brawl.
Four successes.
Four successes.
Beautiful.
So brawny, just brownie young woman.
Miguel, what is your intention as you quickly realize that Sybil has not let go of your wrist?
At first, they begin to drink, taking in what they expected to.
Your friend, relieving themselves at the hurt, but then it turns immediately.
You're familiar with this feeling.
You're familiar with this pain.
It's the way everyone acts around you.
They want you for what you can do for them, but not for what you represent, for what you
can change about the world.
What is your move against them?
I am going to attempt to lock eyes with Sybil once again, and I am going to attempt to quell the beast.
Okay. So on a critical success, this ends a vampire frenzy, if I read it correctly.
Yep.
Okay.
It would take a critical end the frenzy.
So if you can roll two tens here in your pool, then you have ended the frenzy and saved yourself
on round one.
If not, you are going to continue to take aggravated damage.
As you have already taken two from the first attack as you did nothing to stop it.
Got it.
Oh, I took two.
Okay.
So I'm at three aggravated damage.
Cool beans.
Here we go.
One success.
Okay.
Sybil.
The second round of combat.
Okay.
That's great.
That's two successes.
Two successes.
Regal, your response.
I'm going to attempt to push Sybil off of me.
Okay.
Give me a strength plus brawl.
Okay.
Two successes.
You're in a stalemate.
I'm going to give you an option, Regal.
Either this results in nothing, but you're still grappled and Sybil is still attached to you.
drinking for the next round.
Or you have successfully pushed her away
and taken the additional two aggravated damage.
But this would trigger a frenzy resist and simple.
Go for another round?
It would be too aggravated.
I would immediately sustain too aggravated.
You would sustain the damage
because you're technically pushing to allow,
you take on instead of,
taking the stalemate.
So that would fill up my health bar with aggravated damage, which I think puts me in a torpor,
right?
Yes.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
So I believe that puts us at a stalemate then, right?
Yep.
Yep.
Okay.
All right.
And not we're burning willpower to rerol?
I only have a fucking pool of three on that, but yeah.
Let me burn a willpower.
Oh, you had a pool of three and you scored three?
No, I scored.
two. Oh, well, I would, yeah. All right, let me try that again with the willpower.
Got it. Yeah, no bet zero successes. Okay. So two and two, we're trapped in this stalemate.
You're trying desperately to beat Sybil off of you. You managed barely to wrench back their
head from the wrist, but Sybil is no longer your friend, no
longer a person reminds you of seeing that white on the road.
Their eyes have rolled back in their head.
Their jaw is completely unhinged farther than you've ever seen it before.
It's inhuman.
And they are desperately trying to engorge themselves on your complete forum.
Round three.
Civil.
Okay.
One success.
One success.
One success.
Yeah.
Regal, your action.
I'm going to go for panacea.
See if that works.
Okay.
Give Sybil some willpower back.
Okay.
So Panacea, you're desperately trying to empathize with Sybil.
This gives back willpower.
What does Sybil gain particularly?
So it's against a difficulty to you.
I rolled four successes.
It restores a number of superficial willpower damage levels equal to the
margin on the rule. So if I rolled four, that means two. Okay. Did you already roll or?
Yeah. Yeah, I got four successes. Okay. So there you go. So what I'm going to say is,
what does this look like first? Regal? What is your panacea for Sybil represent? What does it
look like? It's more of an unspoken thing. It's almost like Quill the Beast, but as as Sybil is
feeding.
He reaches up and pulls on the back of her head to try to get her to make eye contact,
whether with the two eyes or the third or all three.
And that third eye is weeping vitae from this discipline usage and just says nothing,
but just is attempting to reach out.
unspoken to the Sybil within that's currently been suborned by the Beast.
Sybil.
Can I use a flashback?
Yeah.
Okay.
Sybil is going to go where Regal usually is in the club, where his spot usually is,
and leave an old news article that shows her shaking hands with what will be her future sire
when she was in probably late high school, early college age.
And you can see her actual name, first name, which is Natalie.
And her middle name is Sybil, her last name is Geyer.
and you will have access to her whole name.
And Riegel will just whisper Natalie.
Sybil, give me a frenzy-resist test
with your newfound willpower.
Willpower plus third of your humanity rounded down.
You're trying to beat a difficulty of three.
You're muted.
Ah, that's five successes. It's five.
That's all of them.
It's the full pool.
Oh, that's what I'm talking about.
Mother fucking game.
Damage.
Say again?
Did I take any more aggravated damage?
No, you did not.
The panacea would have happened before,
and your success supersedes her one.
The margins don't fit for damage.
You snap back your huge.
Here again, Sybil, Natalie.
You're staring down at the wound you've left on Red Gail's forearm,
where you can see past where you would claw at first,
and instead it looks like runched open meat.
And you can see the open spouting vein of Vite
as it leaks like tar from the wound.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
It's okay. It's okay.
It's okay.
It's weak.
I think she's just pushing herself away from you.
And what do we do?
What do we do?
Go down to the service tunnels.
The rest of them are there waiting for you.
Where's Mal?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I'll find him.
Okay.
Your shoulder.
I...
Don't worry about it.
Goes to find...
No.
And I'm going with Civil to back them up and find Mal.
Okay.
Could I just get a quick dexterity plus athletics from the two of you as you evade the
remaining forces of the Rock Security Force?
So you guys get out from that shelter from behind the bar.
Okay.
Does my uniform do anything for me?
I think at first, it definitely lowers the DC.
Okay.
two successes three successes yeah i'll say you guys are able to get out of there quick enough i think
they're distracted by the fact that a rock security stands up first um and then when the two of you
start moving as fast as you do it's it's too quick for them to react in a way that's meaningful
especially with you two being kindred and as fast as you are you make it to the elevator
and you go up but up even further mal have resorts
resorted back to the steel steps in that steamed, piped room in essentially the attic of the
silver dollar pursuing footsteps. You're back at the foot of those stairs. Down this path, there is a
right-hand side further into these pipes, a left-hand side through an access door, and then the
door and ladder you came through.
I'm just listening for where the footsteps were going, following along with them and trying to catch up to whoever's wandering around up here.
Got it. Could you give me dexterity plus investigation?
Dex.
Actually, could you give me dex plus awareness?
There's more awareness.
That's great. I can do that.
I could do that if I had me successes, so I'm going to roll the willpower.
That was a crazy pool you just rolled to head.
I've no, that's a crazy.
I rolled six days. Nothing.
That is a lep roll if I've ever seen one.
Yes, it is. Hello, I'm here.
One success.
Okay, all right, we'll take it, we'll take it.
Listen, whatever was here you think might be gone by the time you turn the corner.
You're pursuing down the right passage through the labyrinth pipes.
you get blasted in the face by this display of steam.
And by the time that you get your bearings back,
you're no longer hearing the steps.
You're not hearing anything.
You turn the corner and you walk through.
And after some exploration, you feel maybe you lost it here.
I'm, okay, hold on.
I have a thought that's a little bit.
nutty. Okay. So I have umbrous clutch. Yeah. Which means that I can drop someone through their
shadow. Do I have to be able to see them to do it? Well, I imagine you'd have to see their shadow.
So yeah. Right? Okay. You got to see their shadow so you have to see them or the very least you have
to see their shadow.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay, well, you have to ask.
You simply must ask sometimes.
Because otherwise, I think Lusomber would just be dropping everybody through their shadows.
Yeah, for sure.
From across the globe.
For sure.
Then I think Mal is going to lose some of the stealth that they've been taking,
maybe a little bit intentionally.
I'm going to start making noise as I move.
through this space.
Okay.
Kind of trying to draw out
whoever's up here, if I can.
Okay.
Give me dexterity plus intimidation.
Okay.
I have extra because of shadow cloak on intimidation.
I think I have plus two on intimidation.
Although that might just be for mortals.
Hold, please.
No, oh, it's against mortals.
Okay.
Um, then intimidation.
You said dexterity and intimidation?
Yep.
Okay, thank you.
Jesus.
One success.
Brutal.
Brutal.
Yeah.
Now you're not finding much in the way of, um, something to go on up here.
And you're starting to think that they're probably not even up here anymore.
Fuck.
Loose thread.
Yeah.
Um, I, okay.
No, there's no.
No, okay, that's dumb.
I will, if I've made a noise and no one's come out,
and I've tried to stealth and no one's come out,
I'm just going to bang open all the doors,
go to the end of the passage,
just like fully walk all the space so I can tell Burroughs that I walked the space.
Um, almost like a pissy teenager.
And then I think I'll double back down.
Yes.
So you do so, you cross all the eyes, you dot all the T's.
You go up onto the roof again just to say you did it.
You open the access door.
It's a utility closet on the side there.
The one thing that you find when you're coming back to the ladder and the steel
door back down to the elevator hatch is a red scarf.
That is, it has an insignia on it.
It looks like it was discarded in a run.
And it looks stepped on, essentially.
But it is, I'll read it off to you again, just to remind you guys what that thing looks like.
A red scarf emblazed at the bottom with a silver stitch.
symbol, an axe bundled and gathered sticks
type to the weapon.
I'm going to take it. I'm going to put it in my back pocket.
And then I'm going to start moving down the stair, or down the ladder,
through and out, hoping to find any of the team and just be like,
we're fucked, just to tell everyone.
As you are going down the ladder, the elevator is coming up.
Oh, okay. I'll go back. Then I'll go back in.
back in the room or back in the hallway.
Just as a little meta-game thing, it is Raquel and Sybil coming up.
Lines up.
Oh, great.
Take a look.
Great.
Then I'll just drop down through the hole in the ceiling.
Beautiful.
You do notice the familiar trappings of Sybil and Regal pressed up against the wall.
They both look bad, worse for wear.
And that gives you this signal to come down and see them.
Well, not to give you news worse than both of you look, but we're fucked.
Felt that.
Lost Aidan.
Shit.
Lost the pit boss, too.
We got to get out of here.
Fuck.
Okay.
Did we get to the vault?
Are we going to the vault?
Valtz.
Jackie got into the vault last I saw.
They got in?
They got everything.
Okay.
So go home, maybe.
Service tunnels down.
I got us a way out.
You cleared him?
Yeah.
shit
okay then
we're gonna have to deal
with Adon soon
but if we don't know where he is
right now
there's no use sticking around here
to get our asses beat
yeah
cops are right
fuck let's go
I'm gonna I'm gonna
I'm gonna lead the way through
all of the spaces
because they look
incredibly fucked up
so I want to take
I want to take the brunt of
of fight stuff
if it comes
okay
Yeah, you extend through the house section and then down the elevator to the vault itself.
And the vault is open.
The security room is open.
I believe Burroughs is in there.
So the cross section of everybody, I think everybody meets up back at the security station, if I remember correctly.
Yeah, Burroughs has run out of the vault up to the security room and just looks to see if there's a computer visible or a server or something that looks other than like a keyboard.
It does look like there are two server racks connected up to the array of monitors that are displaying CCTV and then three monitors you can actually manipulate that are essentially hooked up to a keyboard mouse.
He draws his gun and just starts firing into the computer until it stops making noise.
and then steps out and sees the others
is like, we gotta go.
Okay, beautiful.
Well, Burroughs is breaking the security columns.
You said there was like, Regal found five out of potentially six things
in that other part of the vault, right?
Yeah.
Is there enough time for me to go and see if I can find the last thing that's missing?
Sure.
Go ahead and give me an intelligence plus investigation.
Got to check the work.
Hell yeah.
You know what?
Jackie's going to break the glass or drop it?
Okay, so she's normal.
That's one success.
Okay, so she's normal.
That's one in my pool for that success.
Yeah, Niles, you think you got everything.
Wait, are we canonizing that puppet is incorporeal Jackie right now?
Yeah, yeah.
That's how, if you ever go incorporeal, forget the stupid string idea I had.
We're all puppets.
I love you so much.
I do have a question.
And now that, because now I'm Caporeal really quick.
Yeah.
I do want to leave behind because I'm taking some like ash.
I'm doing like leaving spell and ritual stuff behind to add to that.
Okay.
Where are you leaving the ritual stuff to make it look like a ritual was done?
Okay.
Where the body, where we dropped, where burrows dropped the body.
I'm going to go ahead and draw like a couple of symbols that I've known to.
be...
I love that.
Could you give me Kraft plus blood sorcery?
Yes.
Oh, also, if anyone is interested, you can all hear the song if you'd like to try and listen
to it.
I do have a thing in music history, a...
Oh.
Oh.
Perfect.
Then Burroughs...
Let's have Burroughs for all that then.
Give me that specialty plus your wits.
Okay.
Now...
Can I also give Jackie Aide because I have Dotson Craft?
Sure.
Yes, you can add an additional dot to your pool there.
Resuccess.
You are familiar with this song.
I'm going to drop it here in the YouTube chat.
And I'm going to drop it in our discord.
It's an old biblical classical piece from Samson and Delilah,
biblical tale. But it's back in all by a French composer. Burroughs doesn't know the name. He just says,
my grandmama used to sing this song. Weird. And then keep moving. Beautiful.
Score to four. Heads up on. A four total for your blood source or mal that gave me,
because I had three. Beautiful. Is there anything else we would like to accomplish down here in
vault. I want to grab one more. I want to run and get that vial. I'm going to go and fill like a
You're going to go fill a vial full of the blood from the fountain room. Yep. Are you touching the
blood? No, because I have a medical, I have like gloves for that. So I'm going to take out some of
those clear gloves and then just take a glass vial with cork stopper, fill it up. Okay. Roll a single
die. Tell me if it's a success or a failure. Okay. It is a failure.
Oh,
Coff and dice.
Oh, fuck.
God damn it.
Touch the magic love.
As usually, we make our own problems yet again.
Just roll back.
Oh, what did I do?
I don't know.
The outcome of this decision will be revealed at a later day.
I would thank you for that.
Why are you this way?
Why are you like this?
Anyway.
I just want to know if you guys talk.
Touchdown.
Well, Jackie, trying as best she could.
She thinks she does maybe.
You have a file, a full, almost like, pultice of that stale blood.
And just as you're filling it up, that drowning, drowning back and all,
that classical music pumping in through the room is, again, so loud you can feel it in your ribs
like you're standing too close to a speaker.
And as you're filling the vial and corking it, finally,
you can see another twitch from that alive individual up there on his crucifix.
But you've gained yourself a vial of blood.
Congratulations.
I will try to...
The body of this person, does it have any carvings or markings on it?
They are pristine.
Outside of wearing their skin for a cape,
around their ankles, the skin is porcelain. It's as beautiful as the curled, beautiful vase boys
that are pouring the blood themselves from the fountains. They look statuesque. As much as I like to
look at them further, I think it's time to go. So I'm going to go ahead and back out and
one thing you do notice is that the flame, the work, as well as the spouting on the other two
is clinical in its work.
It's meticulous.
Somehow, it's clean.
That's all I'll give you.
Okay, thank you.
Anything else we'd like to do here in this beautiful vault of ours
in the bottom of the silver dollar?
Peace out.
I'm sure that everyone at least has one bag,
preferably two bags,
and we're running out the back.
So if I'm to be believed,
you all are walking out of here with $1.9 million,
$10, an envelope with a key ring with three keys, a note that reads off an address below it saying,
watch your step.
A briefcase we haven't opened yet, but is unlocked, a very expensive well-pressed suit,
a silver-tipped cane, and a VHS tape labeled Teresa's.
We cool with that?
Okay.
And we're leaving through the access tunnels.
I do.
Okay.
This is what I'm going to ask of you to make your grand.
escape. And it will be very simple. I need all of you to make a stealth plus dexterity role.
And as long as three of you succeed... If I cast Shadow Cloak, can I give help to everyone?
You can give help to yourself so that you can help be one of the three successes.
Then yes, I will do that. I believe that Sergio either has a one or succeeded.
He has a one.
Okay.
I have three successes out of four.
Successes out of four.
Four successes from Jackie.
Four successes from Niles.
One for me.
Oh.
The boys rev in the one squad.
Mal makes three successes.
Niles, Jackie, and Mal lead the pack in the exit.
Raquel is in charge of directions and has mapped out the service tunnels out through and back into the sewers.
And it is a long trek.
But guided by the stealthy hands of the three individuals in charge, you believe that there are no pursuance.
Very quickly before as we burrows, how much blood is on you from Adon?
A lot of blood.
Well, I don't even know anymore if it's me or him.
I shot him in the head, so there should be a little bit on my face, but...
Could I get a... I would like to get, like, I'm taking a white ribbon, or a handkerchief that's kind of white that I'm going to strip it into a ribbon.
I'm going to blot that on specifically to the ribbon.
Mm-hmm.
Uh...
Give me a craft plus intelligence to see how well of a specimen you get here.
I I I I
Great my question when it's the two red and it's not the skulls, but I got two
Is that a critic that's a messy critical so messy critical plus
Double double you're at four five five successes. Okay
You think you got a good specimen
We don't need that specimen if we killed them did we get him? I didn't get him I didn't get him I didn't get him I didn't get him I? I didn't get him a
I lost him.
This will help.
And now I'm going to take a, we just have to like this.
And I can, we can find a trail of his, we can see a trail of him.
All right.
Well, wait a minute.
Some of us are so fucked up.
I don't think it's smarter.
Let's get out of here.
But yeah, I'm not fucked up.
I can go after him.
I can't go.
I don't think we should waste any time.
No, no, no.
As we're running out, the main thing is trying to get that as we're running out.
And that's all I would really need to do is as long as we get out safely after this.
So Jack here would insist.
as we are moving.
Malinac can go after him.
Let's find out where he is now.
Okay.
Smoking like a little,
one of those like,
you know, big lighters.
And then I'm going to just go ahead
and light it on fire.
Yes.
Forms a ritual, ribbon.
Basically, I just have to
catch us on fire.
Once it's consumed,
the ritual takes a theft,
which basically,
a faint trace of the target, even in areas where they left no tracks.
Basically, it allows a track for us to follow.
The caster must make an intelligence plus survival against the role,
difficulty of six minus the margin of ritual test.
Can you send that to me just so I can see that?
Gladly.
I'm going to send it to you right now.
Now's how are you doing?
You feel like you could pick up another fighter note?
I'm at seven superfishing.
I could.
I'm always down the keep fighting.
Do you have that?
I haven't taken...
I want that knife.
Basically, if we get this,
it gives us 24 hours of like this light to follow.
So it would give us time to at least refill.
Yeah, you can have that knife here.
Thank you.
So if me,
Mal, Niles,
could I take that paper from you,
uh, Jackie?
and I could use it.
Just give us a light where to go?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It supposedly gives us at least a white ribbon of like where to trace them.
Get Raggail and get Sybil back somewhere that they can start.
Right.
Go home.
You can go to the church.
You can go to the club.
It doesn't matter.
Just so you guys know, this is for 24 hours.
So if you did want to wait until tomorrow, the tracks would still be there.
I don't know if we have until tomorrow because if he goes to his daddy, we're fucked.
Unless it's like 5.30 in the morning, I think we're going to still go after him.
Actually, what time is it, Caleb?
It's about 3 in the morning.
Oh, he's running out of time, too.
Exactly.
He has a head start, though.
He's got a hit start.
Either way, could I get Jackie to roll an intelligence survival role to see if she can even pick up the tracks?
Yes.
It's a DC of two, so it's not like it's a big deal.
Intelligence survival.
It shows you every track he's done for the last day.
So it's going to show you where he's been as much as it's going to show you where he went.
Got two successes, but I'm going to burr one of my left.
Beats it.
You just needed two.
Oh, just two.
That's right.
Yeah, two successes.
Thank God.
I thought I was three.
Okay.
Yeah.
There is a faint line, almost like a ghost of a strand of blood, like a thin vein that appears from that rag in Jackie's hand.
And you can see it just zigzag all around in the direction of the silver dollar.
I imagine you guys are a couple of access tunnels away in a safe room that Regal is set up for you.
But just looking in that direction, even through that, your guys' sight can sort of register
that a lot of movement from him in the last day has been through the Sulfur Daller.
But you do think that with the survival tracking role that Jackie just did, that Jackie,
Jackie is the one that can read these bloodlines in the phrasing of the ritual,
could follow the front line to where he's gone off to.
It looks like from where you are now, the future line, the line following where he's off to,
is moving vertical from where you are, and then east.
So, I'm sorry, southeast.
Okay.
Jackie, are you hurt?
No, I'm actually pretty good for right now, but I am definitely.
I think we swap Jackie for Niles.
We swap Jackie for Niles.
Niles, you need to rest.
You need to rest.
Us three go and you three go home.
Okay.
I have another question.
Quite a few things that all of you are carrying, including a $1.9 million spread across
the seven of you, are the three of you going to take that with you to fight Adon or is that getting passed on?
We take it with us.
We should actually go upload, reset.
If we have enough time, we can, but we have 24 hours.
The whole point is we have that at least something.
But we have a jumping off point right now.
We know where he was, he was up on the roof or he was near the top.
So let's go drop this.
Yes, but look at all these stuff.
Look at all the stuff.
I should be able to carry the rest of the bags.
The silver dollar is going to be locked down after tonight.
Yeah.
You're not going to be able to get back.
Yeah.
So if you guys, no, I think that between the three of us,
we should be able to carry the money back.
So you guys go, give us the bags, and we'll meet back up somewhere else.
Yeah, Caleb, I'm going to rouse the blood to, um,
assist with the...
Add to my strength.
Okay.
And that's a success.
Here's the thing. I don't even think you have to rouse, essentially, to blood surge.
Between Sybil, Raquel, and Niles, you guys can get it all back.
It is slowing your movement in case anyone is looking for you tonight.
So this is what I'm imposing as a storyteller, is the three of you are a lot more vulnerable as targets tonight.
That's it.
As long as you're comfortable taking that chance, I'm okay with it.
Yeah.
It's fine.
Okay.
Beautiful. Okay. So all of the items are with the three of you and that means that Jackie Burroughs and Mal are heading off in the direction of that red thin line.
Here's what's going to happen. The three of you exit through a set of staircases that Raigel takes you to.
and I assume the other three with the very precious materials are probably going to stick to the tunnels.
What's the idea there?
Yeah.
Yeah, stick to the tunnels as much as we can.
And honestly, if I can get us to Moe Kerr's Haven, just for the meantime.
Okay.
So let me get from the three of my pack mules.
Could I get a stealth plus.
dexterity. I want you to know that the added baggage, everything that's going on right now,
with the added duffel bags, et cetera, your dexterity is at a hamper here, so the DC's a little higher.
Can myself against Kindra be applied here or no?
Yes. Yeah. Because there's someone in particular that would be very interested in finding out
where you are. Two successes. Two successes.
Five successes. Three successes.
Five successes, three successes.
With Niles's margin, you pass the threshold.
Without Niles, we would have been in some danger.
The three of you are walking through those tunnels following Rangel,
and at one point, Niles, you hear something approaching some tunnels down the way to the north,
around the corner from you, basically, trailing in your direction,
as if maybe they picked up a scent on you.
Is there anything you'd like to do to stop your compatriots there in the tunnel
as they're sort of moving on to take on to the next leg?
Is there any like in these tunnels,
is there anywhere we can kind of like kind of be pushed into a small space for a second
that I can kind of usher them in there and like be back to whatever
to the main tunnel we were on just to try to quiet them for a second?
Yeah.
You find this slice of grating that's against the wall there that provides this sort of almost underpass area.
And you guys huddle in between and watch us the runoff water.
This sewer system runs along.
And would you like to take a look at all at your pursuer?
I would like to.
Okay.
Niles can be one last dexterity plus stealth.
You are not at a hamper because you're standing still.
This is just a traditional role.
Three successes.
Three successes.
You peek around the corner and you catch the light in his eyes like you did in the house floor of the casino.
That man in black suit, the flat jacket, the gun at his side, the empty sheath where his knife used to be.
He's ragged. He's a little hurt.
There's a chunk of his neck taken out where civil.
He stands still for a moment, and you could swear he's staring directly at you.
But it's so hard sometimes in the dark to tell what's real and what's fiction.
You hold that gaze for the longest.
And then he walks in the opposite direction, away from all of you.
Can I shoot him in the back with the dragon's breath?
If you'd like to.
I would like to.
Fuck this guy.
We got to kill him.
Okay.
As long as, as long as, as long as, as long as Eli and Zach are in agreement.
Yeah, if we have the drop on him.
Okay.
Yeah.
We, yeah, because I'm, we got to take this dude out.
So let me roll.
I think the whole time we were like looking at each other was gripping his knife in my hand.
Four successes, baby.
Four successes.
Okay.
Give me one second.
Bomba clock.
Surprise.
No, no, what?
No scope.
I don't know why I said that.
360, no scope.
Right out of the dark.
Hey, no scope, baby.
I do imagine as you're carrying Sybil,
you see this guy and throw her to the side
and she's just like on the side of the top.
You don't.
He'll set her down.
He'll set her down.
He's, he's nothing.
It's not nice.
Yeah.
Not mad at it though.
Oh, shit.
Boom.
One-handed.
Fucking.
He's got, he's got,
He's got simple one arm, shotgun in the other, fucking Terminator 2's that shit.
Boom.
Well.
Because he's a serious guy.
I'm going to speak to Niles first, just because it's 251.
Yes.
Niles, there is a flick of his eyes in the direction of just past you.
As if for a moment, you can feel that he perceives someone else behind you,
readying to attack him.
You can see him sense your friends before they've even made the chance to shoot.
Would we like to proceed with combat?
I'm good if everybody else is.
So you're saying that while I was looking at Pit Boss, there was somebody behind me as well.
I am saying that while you were looking at Pit Boss,
Pit Boss also saw Raquel through a wall.
Okay.
I am saying that while he saw you, he also was.
sensed, at least this is the feeling that you get, that you were not alone.
And in fact, he could feel the attack coming.
I think I'm going to stage your hand.
Or, yeah, I'm going to hold you from firing because I think no longer that is a good
idea for us to be doing.
I think everyone should remember that you're cowards and that you've lost today.
So yeah, just know that.
Yeah, I'm just whole, yeah.
That added sense just Niles would know better than to challenge something much bigger than ourselves in our current state.
So I'm going to try to put your hand down and I'm going to move us in the way we're originally going to go and take and get out of here with the money.
Yep.
Probably good call.
Good call.
Just a big ass look of fear on my face.
So the other three, up through access stairs to the streets of Fremont, some blocks down from the silver dollar following that thread.
Jackie, as soon as you get up to the street, you realize you come to your senses and the tracking makes sense.
It's moving fast.
Right.
He must be in a car or moving much faster than one.
Okay, okay, okay.
He's moving southeast from here.
You'd guess in a through line, if he was a bird flying diagonally, he'd be going just right of the strip.
Okay.
Oh, he's going to the strip.
I got baby blue park nearby.
Let's go.
All right.
Is he going to Elysium?
Not if we don't get to him first.
Let's have it.
Let's go.
Shotgun.
I'll be your direction.
Beautiful.
The three of you hop into Baby Blue.
Burroughs punches it.
What's the song that's playing on the radio, Burroughs?
Anything?
Oh, my God.
Fucking burn, baby, burn, disco inferno.
There you go.
A disco inferno takes off as you guys peel out of Fremont Street
in the direction of that red thread.
Jackie is,
whispering directions to you as fast as they come to her.
And you guys are peeling right and left to try and keep up with that threat the best they can.
I'm going to move time forward a little.
The three of you arrive at Mokur's location.
The three of you have secured the items with him.
The three of you are safe.
The other three are bidden into this gigantic chase across Las Vegas.
civil. It is quiet. It is dark. It's wet. You're hurt. You're not hungry. You're alone. And you have not had a chance to see what they found. Are you interested?
Yes. You searched through everything. Oh, yeah.
You find a VHS taste.
It reads Teresa's.
Take it.
I don't know if it'll be a secret, but I will take it.
Do you have any intents of watching it tonight?
Yes.
Okay.
You need to find a VCR player.
Doesn't seem like there's one down here.
No, I don't think Moe Kerr's a fan of tapes.
And the sun is...
Ah, go ahead.
You think you could make it before dawn.
You've got maybe an hour left.
Wits plus...
intelligence and I'll give you some good locations.
Okay.
It's plus intelligence.
Okay.
Three successes.
Three successes.
You think you could easily go down to Little Vegas and find a buddy of yours obsessed with
old tech and find somewhere to pop in that tape.
I go.
Stealth plus dexterity to leave your friends in the middle of the night.
Stealth plus Dexterity.
Oh shit. She crit. Five successes.
No one even knows you left until it's too late.
You cross, you move through the tunnels, you make it to Little Vegas.
He sets you up in a room after talking your ears off about Hatsuni Miko for maybe too long.
Yeah, yeah.
And on a dingy, cell-shaded tube TV with an attached VCR player.
The tape is in your hands.
The TV is on.
The white noise is fuzzling while you make your decision.
Do you put it in?
Yeah.
I think you can see the white noise of the TV
through the hole in her head from behind her,
and she watches.
You pop in the tape,
and through that same hole in your head,
you are greeted with.
with a face, not the one you're expecting.
The VHS is dingy, it's hard to see,
there are glitches in the tape where it fuzzes and shades out the footage.
It's a cell, a cell made of glass on a cement floor with a drain in the center
that looks to be in someone's basement somewhere, perhaps, somewhere low.
This is CCTV cameras.
set up in the corner and that footage is shot directly onto the cell.
And you find that fast forwarding, rewinding,
pushing through this footage, it is always the same thing,
but it is portraying an entire day's worth
or as much as the film can portray of a woman sitting alone
on a chair in the cell.
It's the only thing with her in there.
She's completely alone.
She's barely dressed.
She's emaciated.
She's confused.
She occasionally talks to herself.
She's long, dirty, blonde hair that has been ratted
with mud, dirt.
Her eyes are manic.
They scan the room constantly.
And occasionally, she stares at the camera
with an empathy that screams for help.
It's one you're familiar with.
It's one that tinges in the back of your mind if you had any left through the gunhole.
You know what it feels like to be her.
She must be a blood doll or something like it.
But where and why and for what?
As you're asking yourself this, you fast forward, Sybil.
And she enters the room.
Brand new, pressed pantsuit.
High heels.
They click.
Click so hard you can hear them in the back of your mind.
Like they're right next to you.
Sitting there watching herself with you.
She stares at the woman first, camera second.
Almost like she's playing politician to the people that might be watching.
Her hair is perfectly curled.
Nails perfectly manicured.
Her face is smooth and untouched.
and exactly how you remember her.
She stares into the camera.
She speaks.
I'm waiting, Lucius.
And the camera cuts.
And we'll pick back up next time, folks.
Yay.
Holy fuck.
I hate that.
We just completed the heist portion.
Now we just got to kill the last...
News send?
Last and send.
Yeah.
Ooh.
Okay.
Okay.
We got mommy trauma.
We got a little mommy trauma on the side.
As a treat.
We're going to go from a heist to a chase.
How's that?
That tracks for us.
No loose ends.
No loose ends.
Fun, fun, fun.
I feel like I ran a marathon.
Yeah, this one was wild for sure.
That's why I couldn't fit it in one part.
Yeah.
Nobody died.
Yeah.
Beautiful guys.
Really good stuff here.
We got some introductions to some powerful players here.
Man, would have been crazy if you guys pulled that trigger.
I don't know what I would have done next session.
That would have cut us right there.
I truly was like, oh, I wanted to get to that videotape.
They want to.
Thank you, Eli, Eli, also.
Yeah. Good timing. Good timing.
All right, guys. That was good.
Do we know when will be back? What's our schedule now?
Not next Saturday, but Saturday after.
Yeah.
Beautiful. Beautiful.
The 15th. Yes, indeed.
We'll see you all there, friends.
Thanks for coming by, guys.
Yeah, love you all.
Have a good Saturday. Love you all.
Bye.
