Meditation Mountain - 15 Minute Acceptance Meditation ~ How to Let Go and Move On

Episode Date: March 4, 2021

During this 15 minute guided meditation on acceptance we'll be meditating using different techniques to help us let go and move on. How to let go can seem tricky but following a guided session like th...is can make moving on faster and less painful. Guided meditation can be used for self acceptance as well as acceptance of all the difficult things in life. Accepting hard situations or parts of life that may be difficult to live with can be challenging, but meditation can provide a sense of security, a quiet place for reflection or a quiet corner to take a break from the stress of the day or situation. How to let go and move on comes in two parts. The first is discovering and using the techniques that help this become possible. Guided meditation can be a useful tool for this. How to let go of the past or even present situations can seem impossible without the right tools and techniques. Here at Meditation Mountain we believe in the power of meditation. Especially mindfulness. It is through mindful meditation that we are able to delve deeper inside ourselves and accept what has been and what is, to start to begin accepting and moving on. The second part is repetition over time. Using the techniques in this meditation can be helpful. But they'll only be able to work if done regularly and if you give yourself time. There is no rush, so give yourself time to accept, time to heal and time to move on. Self acceptance comes in many forms. It may be as simple as accepting something you don't like about yourself. Which can still be difficult but learning how to accept yourself has many great internal benefits in the long run throughout your life. But another form of self acceptance comes in not beating yourself up. It comes in the form of understanding you're a human being and giving yourself the kindness, compassion and time to accept the things in your life you may not like or may find difficult to accept. In that way self acceptance is showing yourself an important form of self love. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Our inner peace is disturbed when we let disturbances of the outside world in, when we battle with what we cannot control, and let our upset emotions thrive our irrational actions. Peace can be found by accepting. Accepting the world around you by accepting the things you cannot change and the things that are not directed at you. Take this time now to get into a comfortable position to meditate on acceptance. Sit or lie down in a place where you will not be disturbed.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Rest your mind and close your eyes as you focus on your brain. breathing, gaw the air in through your nose and let it fill your chest and stomach completely. Feel refreshed and calmed by the air. Send it back out through your mouth, releasing all tension and discomfort from your body. Breathe in again and feel your mind relax and clear as you breathe out. Let your muscles to breathe in and out deeply as you focus on acceptance. Acceptance is the action of consenting to the reception of something. Usually, this is a gift or perhaps an apology.
Starting point is 00:05:03 It can also be done for the day-to-day business of your life. You might not have asked for everything that has done. happened in your life could not change either. You cannot change the weather or how someone speaks to you. Or if there is traffic, what you can control is your reaction to things that happen around you. Take a breath in to control your emotions. We all like feeling happy rather than sad or angry. We like to enjoy things and live with love rather than resentment. Each moment, we get to choose how we feel, not to say it isn't okay to get angry or sad sometimes. Those are valid feelings as well.
Starting point is 00:07:38 When things happen that you can't control, it is a powerful feeling to know that you can control how you react. Take a breath in and think of where you are now and what you are doing. You are either sitting or lying down in a comfortable and private place and breathing deeply. Breathe out and find acceptance that this is where you are right now and everything that is happening around you has no effect on you. You choose to be happy and content at this moment. You accept the moment as it is. There is no past or future.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Just this moment right now. And you accept it as it is. Now breathe in deeply again. And think of something that happened recently that bothered you. But was out of your control. Perhaps it was something at work, or something you saw online. Take a moment to recognize that it was out of your control and know that it wasn't aimed at you. It wasn't intended to cause you any harm or anger.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Breathe out and accept this incident as it was. Accept that it happened. Except how you and others responded to it. accept that you cannot change the past because the past doesn't exist only the present moment does as you accept the things you cannot control feel the weight of the worry about them lift from your shoulders your body relaxes deeper and you find more peace and happiness without the worry or anger or sadness from the thing that you could not control. After you accept the past as it is, choose how you feel in this present moment, up to everything that has happened in your life up until
