Meditation Mountain - Meditation for Overthinking ~ How to Stop Overthinking and Anxiety
Episode Date: March 22, 2021Meditation for overthinking is a powerful tool that can help clear your mind, cope with stress and reduce anxiety. Learning how to stop overthinking with mindfulness meditations and guided stress redu...cing methods can help calm your mind instantly. Overthinking can feel very overwhelming almost immediately with almost no signs it's about to happen and make you feel helpless, scared, worried or even hopeless. When we begin to overthink our minds can often create situations and scenarios that not only aren't really happening but also have a very small chance of ever happening. When this happens it can feel almost impossible to overcome and can take incredible inner strength to find a way to stop. What we suggest is that you don't try to battle this alone. Using a useful tool like guided meditations are a fast and simple way to sometimes instantly be pulled out of that hole we can all feel we fall into when overthinking. The goal here isn't to think our way out of it. That just sends our mind in circles. The two fastest ways to stop overthinking and calm your mind are to get into your body, some form of exercise or movement is a great way to take the focus out of your head and into your body. The second is to give up control to something else for a moment. We suggest guided meditation. Even a short meditation for overthinking or a mindfulness meditation for anxiety is a way to calm your mind and relax your thoughts. If you're new to meditation and looking for some meditation for beginners to help you stop overthinking, cope with stress or relieve some anxiety then look no further. Short guided meditations like this one here are a perfect introduction to meditation. Let me remind you that meditation doesn't need to be a perfect practice. A successful meditation is achieved just be you sitting down for a moment to practice. We're not looking to achieve transcendental enlightenment here, instead just a few moments of peaceful calm to help our mind limit it's response to overthinking. Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome to Meditation Mountain and this guided meditation for overthinking.
Every day our minds are overloaded with thoughts.
Many times these thoughts are helpful and aid us in our daily activities.
Sometimes, though, these thoughts can hinder us and bring us nothing but stress and worry.
Join me in this guided meditation to help stop overthinking and bring you peace and relaxation.
Take a moment to get into a comfortable position and gently close your eyes.
Ensure that you will not be disturbed and try to sit or lay with your spine straight and your body,
Begin by breathing deeply.
Inhale through your nose and feel relaxation take over your body.
Breathe out through your mouth.
Let your body settle comfortably wherever you are.
Breathe in and let the calming air fill your lungs
as you expand your chest.
Exhale all tension and discomfort from your muscles.
As you push all of the air out of your body,
deeply again,
falling into a comforting and easy rhythm
with each, every breath you take,
brings you more and more comfort.
Your body relaxes.
Your mind clears.
Any tension in your muscles,
such as your shoulders or lower back,
is released and pushed away.
All thoughts of the day,
are ceased as you focus solely on your breathing. Nothing else is important right now, except taking this time
to calm and take care of yourself. You deserve to relax. You can, when you are in a deep
meditation and your body is relaxed and your mind is clear bring to light what it is you are
stressing about and overthinking many times we overthink things to come things such as a
project at school or work
perhaps a big party or upcoming event.
There is something new.
You are trying that you are worried about.
Whatever the issue may be, think of it now.
Know that there is no past or future.
Past has already happened.
and cannot change.
The future is unset, and the only moment that exists is the present moment that you are living in.
Breathing helps us find and live in the present moment,
reminding us to be grateful.
to find inner peace as we enjoy life as it comes to ever think.
We are putting ourselves in a time and place that doesn't exist.
We let things that do not exist disturb our peace and disrupt our minds.
To combat this, take a deep breath and look at the bigger picture of whatever you are worrying about.
So it is not worth worrying about for more than a minute now.
Notice why you are worried about this thing.
Do you expect something bad to happen?
Why are you so quick to think of the negative?
Instead, focus on how amazing it could turn out.
What is the best possible outcome?
How amazing would that be?
You've worried about things before, and they turned out fine.
So this time shouldn't be any different.
Sit in your confidence, notice your past successes, and shine a brighter, more positive light on this thing that is to come.
Get excited about it, instead of worrying about it.
Find your confidence and turn fee to feel.
into enthusiasm. Continue to breathe deeply as you let go of your overthinking and you focus on
relaxing and thinking positively. Take this time now and for however long you need to sit in your
confidence and be
comfortable with the outcome of whatever you are overthinking.
Find the positive side of things and shut out any negative thoughts.
You are an amazing person.
Good things happen for you.
You make the best out of every situation, and this is no difficult.
When you are ready, bring your attention back to your breathing.
Worry and overthinking is gone, and you are completely relaxed.
Focus on your breathing again, deeply inhaling through your nose and feeling.
your muscles, begin to wake and move, free of discomfort or attention.
Breathe spelling all negative thoughts and discomfort.
In your mind awaken, positive thoughts slowly coming in.
With one last deep breath, open your eyes, feeling completely
relaxed.
Continue on your day with confidence and without worry.
This ends our meditation today.
Thank you for joining me.
