Starting point is 00:00:00 So what does Jeffrey Epstein and ancient petroglyphs have in common? Well, I'm going to break down this strange emerging story for you in this episode. But before we begin our journey, just a quick reminder to please like this video, subscribe to my channel from wherever you are watching, and please leave me a five-star review if you are watching on Spotify. That really, really helps me out. And also consider joining me on one of my 2006 tours. We are going to Peru and Bolivia this September, ancient Turkey in October,
Starting point is 00:00:34 and then we're going to end the year in Egypt in the first part of December. And these are going to be some of the best tours that I've ever led. And each of these tours includes airport pickup and drop off, all transportation and lodging during the tour, at least two meals per day, site tickets, and English-speaking guides. But most importantly of all, not only will we have the time of our lives, hanging out and having fun, but you will learn the hidden history of these ancient civilizations as we go in search of evidence of lost technology and as we go to see sites and places that most

So let's get into this bizarre story of Jeffrey Epstein in ancient petroglyphs. So a newspaper in New Mexico called the Santa Fe New Mexican is reporting how Jeffrey Epstein, one of his many properties was called the Zoro Ranch property
Starting point is 00:01:40 in southern Santa Fe County, New Mexico. And this was a ranch of over 7,500 acres. And in this acreage, it included a petroglyph rich geological formation known as the El Creston. where the ancients etched rock art images into the very hard basalt stones. And these are thought to be believed at least as old as 900 to 1,000 years old, I believe. Epstein also leased around 1,200 acres from the state for grazing in the area.
Starting point is 00:02:14 So we had all this land down there in New Mexico. So apparently over the years at this Zoro ranch, Epstein instructed his staff multiple times to move. petroglyphs that were estimated again to be hundreds at least 900 years old for the purpose of decoration and this is what u.s. justice department emails and photos released in january reveal quote petroglyph rocks moved to the main house end quote a zoro property manager wrote in a 2001 project memo emailed the epstein noting quote j e to let us know the size of location and how many rocks he would like." Jeff defined larger rocks, end quote, the manager wrote a few days later. In a 2014 email, Epstein emailed an archaeologist and asked, quote, how do I cut and polish the granite with petroglyphs on the ranch?
Starting point is 00:03:17 End quote. Then when the ranch manager was designing planter beds the following year and asked Epstein whether he would be okay with rocks in one section, Epstein responded with a request, quote, yes, nice, it would be great to get some big ones with petroglyphs, even better, end quote. The following year after that, Epstein requested, quote, large petroglyphs, end quote, be included in another outside design. So it appears that among the many strange things that Jeffrey Epstein was into, one of them, was ancient art. I'm talking ancient petroglyphs from New Mexico.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Now there's a guy named Joey Sanchez, who is the chair of the Al Pueblo Council of Governors, and he said this, quote, The destruction and removal of petroglyphs and cultural sites at Zoro Ranch is deeply troubling, yet not surprising considered what has come to light about Jeffrey Epstein. These sites hold profound significance as part of the living history of the Queblos across the southwest, reflecting the enduring connection between our people and the land." Now in this Justice Department trove of documents, there is a photo that's included, and it was released just last month, and this photo shows a boulder, and you should be seeing it on the screen if you're watching by way of video now. It shows this boulder in like the courtyard of the property with this big like star petroglyph on it.
Starting point is 00:04:52 and it's placed on what looks like a manufactured part of the Epstein yard. And the boulder has signs, as you can see, of kind of being disturbed by like heavy machinery, likely from being moved. And this is according to archaeologists. Archaeologist Jared Roberts said that it shows evidence of mechanical damage pointing to the lighter color on the right side of the boulder, which he said is indicative of a giant machine going in and trying to clawing. it to lift it up. And Robert said it clearly shows evidence of it being moved and altered or defaced. And so as you can see from this photo, this one petroglyph star is quite large on this large boulder and it must have taken some work to get some giant machine in wherever this rock was
Starting point is 00:05:47 to literally cut it out and claw it out and transport it by his. front door. This is nuts. And just so you know, rock art or petroglyphs are formed by the ancient artists etching into the weathered surface. So they're digging into it. They're etching into it, carving into it, if you will, to reveal the lighter layer underneath. And then over time. So I'm sure many of you like me are wondering how in the world was this allowed to happen. well, what you need to know is that there is far less government oversight of petroglyphs on private land than there is on state or federal land. The New Mexico State Department Cultural Affairs spokesperson said this in an email, quote, the state has little to no jurisdiction when it comes to petroglyphs on private land, if that is indeed where these came from, end quote.
Starting point is 00:06:45 A State Department cultural affairs spokesperson said this in an email. quote, the state has little to no jurisdiction when it comes to petroglyphs on private land, if that is indeed where these came from. It is possible the Epstein ranch was legally in possession of petroglyphs found on the privately owned land. So while old Jeffrey Epstein thought it would be really cool to have these ancient petroglyphs literally surrounding his ranch home in New Mexico all over the place, I like the point that this archaeologist named Jared Roberts makes when he says this, moving petroglyphs severes them from their context, which is crucial to understanding their meaning. Their orientation, placement, elevation, and proximity to other features are part of what gives petroglyphs meaning.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Removing or relocating them fundamentally alters the information they hold. The only way we can really understand is if we look at it in. place in the landscape. And when we move that, when we alter it, we lose so much information. A great point by this archaeologist that I unequivocally agree with. So see, I don't always disagree with archaeologists or mainstream archaeologists. There are some things I definitely agree with them on. Now, Epstein's aspirations were perhaps broader, they're saying, than even Petrogy Because get this, in 2012, he told his manager, quote, also I want Steve to bulldoze some roads to Indian ruins, end quote. Now, what's more? Author Nigel Cothorn mentioned this New Mexico ranch and the cultural artifacts at it in his 2022 book titled Virginia Guffrey, Epstein's masseuse, who took down the road.
Starting point is 00:08:47 rich. So in this book, he's talking about this Epstein victim named Virginia Guffrey, who's been all over the news the last five, ten years, and who mysteriously supposedly died by suicide last year. And in the book, he says this, quote, exploring the ranch, Guffrey found the ruins of an old Indian pueblo and collected some relics to give to her mother. Epstein was concerned. that she told no one in case the discovery attracted the attention of the authorities." Wow, so to me this is a crazy story of Jeffrey Epstein, ancient petroglyphs, one of his victims, Virginia Guffrey, who supposedly suicided herself last year, which is just very sad, and then mention of her at this very ranch where she was exploring ancient Pueblo ruins and collecting relics.
Starting point is 00:09:51 And apparently according to this article, the State Department of Justice and a state house commission have recently announced investigations into this ranch, which I believe includes investigations into what really happened with these petroglyphs. So very, very odd and bizarre story indeed. Well, I'd love to know what you think about Epstein and these petroglyphs. I think it's safe to say that most people on earth think this guy was an insane nut job. But do you think it was evil and wrong with him to remove these petroglyphs and move them to his ranch? Or do you think that because it was private land, hey, it's not really that big of a deal as long as the petroglyphs. themselves on the stone weren't damaged. Leave me a comment. I'd love to know what you think. Well, I hope you enjoyed this episode. If you did, please share it with somebody and I will see you
Starting point is 00:10:50 next time.
