Megalithic Marvels - They Just Discovered Mummies with Golden Tongues

Archaeologists recently discovered a cache of ancient Egyptian tombs concealing mummies who possessed golden tongues in their skeletal mouths. Then I'm going to read for you a 1901 report that I found in the digital archives of the Library of Congress that references a strange discovery that was made in South Carolina way back in 1901. So last week, Egypt announced the excavations of 18 previously unknown tombs at a site known as Marina El Alamein, approximately 62 miles west of Alexandria. And these burials belonged broadly to Egypt's Tuleyak and Roman periods, meaning they are roughly like 1,600 to 2,300 years old.

And these tombs consisted of like 11 deeply excavated rock-cut tombs, averaging about 8 meters deep under the earth, and seven limestone tombs were situated closer to the surface. And among these excavations, at least four gold mouthpieces were found in their original burial positions, while as many as 24 gold tongue-shaped funerary objects were recovered from the tombs. So what exactly is a golden tongue? Well, these were generally thin pieces of beaten gold foil, shaped like,

tongues and placed in or over the mouth during preparation of the body, and they functioned as funerary amulets rather than like anatomical replacements. Because in the ancient Egyptian belief system, the deceased needed to retain the ability to do several things, to speak to the gods, recite like protective spells, state their innocence during judgment, communicate with these divine beings, and continue functioning. basically as like a complete person in the afterlife. And so these golden tongues are best documented in the Ptolemaic and Roman period burials and are generally interpreted as devices enabling the dead to speak during judgment

before Osiris or recite sacred formulas in the next world. So why gold? Well, gold was associated with divinity, permanence, and the incorruptible bodies of the gods. When we look at ancient Egyptian art, it sometimes described or represented the gods as having even golden-like flesh or skin. And gold's resistance to corrosion

made it especially appropriate for someone who's expected to live for eternity. A golden tongue could therefore symbolically transform the deceased's speech into something that was permanent, pure, divine, incapable of decay. And the gold was probably more important for its religious or ceremonial meaning than even for its financial value. Now, one common interpretation seems to connect these mouth amulets

with the Egyptian judgment of the dead. And in this ceremony, the deceased appeared before Osiris, ruler and judge of the underworld. The person's heart was weighed against the feather of Mahat, representing truth, justice, and cosmic order. And the book of the dead portrays the deceased reciting declarations in these sacred formulas during this process. And that is why the ability to speak mattered.

A silent or incomplete deceased person might theoretically be unable to defend themselves. or address the gods or recite the words required to overcome supernatural obstacles. So the golden tongue was essentially a piece of like afterlife insurance. However, no surviving inscription from these marina tombs has yet been published that explicitly says like this gold tongue allows this person to speak before Osiris. So this interpretation comes from the object's placement, Egyptian funerary beliefs, and comparison with similar burials. So what else was found in these tombs? Well, the discovery involved much more than just these golden tongues or mouthpieces. Also discovered inside one of the tombs was a sealed granite sarcophagus approximately eight plus feet long.

Its lid was reportedly still in place when archaeologists reached it. and skeletal remains were found inside. However, those remains are currently undergoing examination, so we don't know about the mummy or the skeleton inside. Fragments of a plastered sphinx statue were also found near this granite sarcophagus, and the sphinx seems to indicate continued use of recognizable Egyptian, religious, and royal imagery, although its exact function within the tomb complex has not yet been explained. Now the excavators also recovered an incomplete statue of Aphrodite,

the Greek goddess of love, beauty, and sexuality. Now this is especially interesting because it demonstrates that this community participated in a world where they were blending Egyptian, Greek, and Roman traditions side by side. It's also interesting to note that at least one of the gold pieces was reportedly formed like the eye of Horace, a symbol associated with protection, healing, and restoration. Also discovered inside this exciting cachet of artifacts is what some are calling a false door or what I would even say is the ancient Egyptian depiction of a stargate. And we see this false door symbology all over in ancient Egypt because it represented like a symbolic passage between

the worlds of the living and the dead. It was literally like their stargate, their portal into the afterlife, where the spirit of the deceased could supposedly approach through it and receive food, drink, and ritual offerings from relatives. Again, this site known as Marina El Alamein, it stands near the Mediterranean coast up there in northern Egypt, not far from Alexandria. Research here has revealed a substantial Greco-Roman community containing port facilities, warehouses, public squares, Hellenistic and Roman-style baths, public buildings, and large cemeteries containing underground tombs and elaborate above-ground monuments.

And you can see in these cemeteries a mix of ancient Egyptian artifacts and relics mixed with Greek and Roman-style artifacts. Now, having been to Alexandria, Egypt, myself, just a few years ago, I got to see this up close. And one of the highlights to my trip to Alexandria was this graveyard of ancient Roman and Greek ruins. You could clearly see columns and all of these artifacts. But guess what was forgotten inside this huge, what looked like, graveyard of more newer Greek and Roman ruins. There was this ancient, what I would call it megalithic, gigantic, probably 50 ton like granite box. Now, most tourists or onlookers would probably just assume, oh, this is some Greek box they made for a watering trough. But no, it looked almost identical to the ancient prehistoric boxes we see like at the serapium of Sakara that weigh 100 plus tons with the lid on top.

This one didn't have a lid and it was greenish so it might have been granite diarite but extremely hard material. And guess what was on the ends of each box? Precision drill holes. And you look down into this again, one solid piece of granite or granite diorite. and it was precision hollowed out with these thin edges. It had to be at least 15 feet long by like six feet wide if my memory serves me correct. Okay, but back to the Golden Tong Discoveries. So who were these people?

Well, they were likely probably residents of the Greco-Roman coastal community here rather than like pharaohs or members of Egypt's old kingdom royal dynasty. because their burial practices suggest people living in a multicultural environment where families could adopt Greek art and the gods while continuing Egyptian beliefs about bodily preservation and Osiris in the afterlife. Now these golden tongue objects may indicate some access to wealth, but their presence alone does not prove that every person buried with one was royalty or extremely wealthy.

So what they are calling this Marina Discuss. there in northern Egypt belongs to a growing group of related finds because gold tongues or golden tongue plates were already being reported at the site of OK.C. Rinkus about 118 miles south of Cairo during an early archaeological work in the late 19th century. And even more recent excavations at this site have even expanded more evidence of this custom. In a tomb reported in 2024, found the mummies of a man and woman in stone sarcophagi accompanied by golden tongues, a golden mask, and statuettes combining the Egyptian goddess Isis with Greek Aphrodite. And then in 2021, at an excavation west of Alexandria, there was an announced 16 rock-cut

burials containing mummies and gold-foil tongue pieces. So this golden-tong phenomenon seems to be growing. Now, this discovery is important because these pieces were recovered from documented tomb settings rather than just antiquities markets. So this is a fascinating discovery, indeed. Okay, now let's jump from Egypt to South Carolina, specifically to Lancaster, South Carolina, where I'm going to read from you from the Lancaster Ledger. This was a major newspaper in Lancaster, South Carolina in 1901. Now I came across this interesting article while perusing through the digital archives of the Library of Congress. And it's crazy what you can find in these old newspapers. Now this article was posted on January 9th, 1901, and the title is simply, quote,

An Indian Mound. It reads as follows, quote, Bennettville, South Carolina, January 4th. There is an old Indian mound in the sandhill section of Crooked Creek 15 miles north of here, where skeletons and Indian relics were unearthed a few days ago. The mound was near the old wolf pit, where scores of wolves were baited and captured by hunters before the beasts were driven out of the forest. A party of men under the command of Captain Samuel, Kirkpatrick decided to investigate the mound in the search for hidden treasure. The first day's

work failed to bring results, but the digging was resumed the second day. Skeletons, bones, arrows, and pottery were unearthed, and deep down under the discoveries was the skeleton of a human Bing, which measured nine feet in length. So a very interesting article we have here. Again, it was published in 1901. This was back when free speech and free thought were much more common before stuff was being more controlled by a mainstream narrative. And so it's interesting in this major publication. We've got them writing about discoveries made in what they call an Indian mound, very interesting, where they find these relics, but also a nine-foot skeleton. I wish this article could go on to tell us more about the skeleton or where it was taken. My guess, it was likely taken by the Smithsonian and never seen again.

But again, it's crazy. this is in the government's own digital archives of the Library of Congress. Anybody can go to this website and put in keywords and find articles like this. And I'll link this one in the show notes. Okay, so let's talk about monoliths on the moon for a few minutes. So former Pentagon UFO investigator Luis Elizondo is claiming the U.S. government possesses unreleased photographs showing what appears to be giant, monolith-like structures on the moon. And he says images may go public soon. Elizondo said,

quote, there's photographs that I don't believe have been made public yet that show on the lunar surface what appears to be large monolithic structures with right angle cuts. Now this word he uses monolithic is interesting because to me that can be different than megalithic. When I think of monolithic, I'm thinking of more like giant rock structures. When I think of megalithic, I'm thinking of more artificial block, precision cut structures. But it sounds like that's what he's talking about is more megalithic structures on the moon

when he says structures that have right angle cuts. That's talking to me like he's thinking these were artificially made, they're not natural. Now, this guy, Elizondo, he formerly headed the Pentagon's advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. And so he's actually been making many explosive claims the last several years about U.S. knowledge of like extraterrestrial phenomena, including that the federal government basically

had this UFO crash retrieval unit that would go pick up a craft that had allegedly crashed like at Roswell in 1947. And since we're on this note, as some of you may know, the past. Pentagon released its fourth batch of UFO files about two weeks ago following President Trump's declassification order. And this latest dump of UFO files includes footage, not just photos, but video footage, of a strange six-pointed object that was recorded off the coast of East Asia. Now, when you see the photo or the video, you can see how it's clearly got six points.

It's like a six-pointed star-shaped apparition. And I believe it was recorded as recent as last year over the Yellow Sea that separates China from the Korean Peninsula. And the 18-second video shows what at first seems to be almost like a crack in a video camera screen. But as you look closer and review it, you can see this object is being tracked by a military's radar.
