Mention It All
A Bravo by Betches podcast
We don't say that
But now we said it
With me, Dylan Hafer
Who's on check me both
Hey everyone, welcome back
to the mention at all podcast
I am very excited to be joined today
by a returning guest
But he's never been in the studio before
So we're going to get into all things
Housewives, all things holidays
because he has some very exciting holiday stuff
that's been cooking up
Danny Pellegrino
Do you see me just get so excited
I felt like I was ready to jump up.
Because also I feel like we've talked about that.
I see you all the time, but we haven't gotten to do this in person just on Zoom.
So your second book came out like a year ago.
And I think we recorded virtually for that.
And so I'm excited to have you in the studio today.
I'm happy to be here.
You have a Hallmark Christmas movie.
How weird.
Isn't that a weird thing to say?
It's weird.
It's weird only in the sense that like I don't talk to very many people who have
Hallmark Christmas movies.
And I feel like in the Bravo sphere, it can be hard to like do something.
else. And so I feel like it's cool that you have like this second lane of being like a holiday.
You're like the king of Christmas. Oh, thank. Hardly. But I love the holidays and I'm so great.
I was so excited to work with Hallmark. And I've always loved the they have like their countdown
to Christmas movies that start before Halloween. And I've always loved them. So to be able to get to do one was
just a dream come true. And to be able to like infuse it with certain Bravo references and stuff has been,
was really fun too. Well, you've, I mean, it's not like a secret to your to people who, to people who,
listen to your show or to follow you, like, you're like a holiday person.
Like that's like a big part of, that's like a big part of your whole thing.
And so I feel like it's not like, oh, this is just some random gig that I got to go do this movie.
It's like, no, like this is, it's a climb.
It's all about the climb, as Miley said.
But yeah, I do love the holidays.
And I just was like begging them to let me do something with them because I think they do those movies so well.
But I love them.
Yeah.
So I was excited to work with them.
What is it like?
So you on this movie, which is called deck the walls,
by the way, if people are looking for it.
You wrote the story, you're an executive producer on it, and you saw it in the movie.
So, like, what is it like kind of, like, wearing all those different hats in addition to everything
else that you have going on?
You know, it was such a good creative challenge.
I loved it.
I had been writing scripted stuff since before my books even came out.
I've just kind of gotten close to production on a couple scripts that I had sold or had been
at different places, but unfortunately, they just hadn't gone.
And so this was sort of my first thing to move.
into production. And so I was so thrilled. And it was just a dream come true. All of that.
I don't. And it was also quick too, because it was like, once it got greenlit, it was like,
okay, we're shooting. It's a quick shoot. And there are a well-oiled machine over at Hallmark.
Yes. And so it was like, let's go, we're headed to Utah to shoot. I had a minute to pop by the
beauty lab and laser parking lot. I love that you shot in Utah. It feels, feels right.
We got there. We shot up like in mid-city, which is like the mountains of Utah. Okay. But
flew into Salt Lake.
So of course the first day there.
I was like, well, I have to go to the beauty lab
and laser parking lot.
Yeah.
Just to take photos.
Of course.
So that was like the first stop.
I feel like Salt Lake City has like I really would love to know the impact of
reality television on their tourism industry because like it's all of it.
I saw a TikTok recently.
There was somewhere I was like me and my friends planned a Salt Lake City inspired trip to Salt Lake City, Utah.
And we went to beauty lab.
We went to this restaurant that Angie and Mary ate lunch out.
And I'm like, damn, you did the whole.
The whole, they went to Meredith Marks, you know, like, they're spending money into that economy.
They went to her rental?
I'm kidding.
No, I love Meredith.
I love Meredith.
I'm just kidding.
You could do a whole tour just of Meredith Marks's homes.
All of her rentals.
God bless her.
That was like, we were talking before we started.
I read Heather's new book and there's a long chapter about Monica.
And, like, part of the specifics is just like, well, when Jen was living here, she was following that house.
And then when Jen was living there, she was hanging out at that house.
And I'm like, there's a lot of, we've seen a lot of Utah real estate.
So much.
I haven't watched the news sold on SLC, but I'm sure I will dive into it.
I have to dive into it as well.
Maybe a holiday binge or something.
I feel like, I like the Utah reality show, though.
I think, you, I mean, obviously Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was like a wonderful surprise.
I think like there is something to be said for those kind of like second tier shows where it's like,
I like top chef.
Does top chef have to be like the thing that I'm dedicating my life to?
no, I kind of just want to like have something, you know, nice and cozy.
And don't you feel that way, I mean, with, I have a podcast where I recap reality TV as you do here.
And it's like sometimes it does feel when you're, you want to just sit and enjoy them.
I'm always taking notes when I'm watching these shows.
I'm like, I wish I could just watch and not take notes.
And the problem is then sometimes I'll like get caught up in something.
And then I forget to take notes.
And I'm like, watch this one.
I don't know what happened.
I'm like, did I think Kyle and Doreet talked?
I don't know.
Something.
There was an argument.
Yeah. Or sometimes when I'm recapping on my show, I'll read through my notes and I'm like, what the fuck was I saying there? What did I mean by that?
Yeah. Or the plot lines on the show, this happens to on Salt Lake especially because the plot lines are so crazy.
Yes. That sometimes I'll be reading back my notes and I'm like, wait, so much happened in this episode.
It is kind of like feast or famine. Sometimes I find, and that's part of why having something to binge sometimes if you wait and let the episodes accumulate a little bit. It feels like you're getting a little bit more payoff versus just like, okay, we moved the chess pieces forward.
one spot on the board, and now we have to wait another week to find out where they go.
I guess that's just like what TV used to always be.
Yeah.
You know, when we were in Utah, though, I kept wanting to, I sort of kept telling everybody on
crew and on set just being like, you know, the Salt Lake City Housewives are close.
Like, you know, we can reach out to maybe Lisa Barlow, see if somebody, do we need a cameo?
You know, I was like, and everyone's like, we don't watch that show.
You know, it's like these Utah crews, they don't even know what I was talking about.
And then I would ask certain people to, like the camera operating.
or something. I'm like, did anyone work on Salt Lake City Housewives here? Like, there was
one person on the crew. I won't name names, but he was giving me a little dirt. He was
like on the crew of Salt Lake and had no idea of anything of Housewives. Yeah. And in between
takes and stuff, I'd be like, okay, come here, tell me more. It was funny on New York this week
when they were showing up to their house in Puerto Rico. Like the house staff was like,
what is? Rich women? I don't know. The wealthy, they have money. I don't know. Like,
the people that have to interact with these women, I mean, God's be.
to all of them.
If you've encountered Ramona Singer on vacation, like...
I do feel like they set that up, though,
of like, that was a setup that would have worked so much better on the original
Roney because it was like, they're not that chaotic.
So I think if we were to see like the hotel preparing for Luann or some of the other
crazier, Salt Lake City or some of the other crazier cast.
But with the New New York, it's like, they were like, oh, we don't know these people.
And I was like, you'll be fine.
It's like, ooh, scary.
There's going to be a prank.
Oh, Jessel's going to get her suit.
case hidden. I think you'll be okay.
Rebecca McCoss's going to be mad. Yeah, like no one's going to get
too, like they'll all be fine. Yeah, it is
not all
housewives' trips are created equal.
Wait, whose side were you on? I'm sorry we're jumping around
a lot, but we can jump. Who side were you
on with Uba's hotel, the room?
She said she was going to go to the, she was going to go
a hotel. Where do you stand with that?
The thing is like, I don't,
I don't want to have a negative
reaction to a housewife having
a diva moment because I feel like
we love our divas and we need our divas.
us. But there's something about the like, the like such a strong reaction to like something that
didn't matter. It's like, it's a room. Like, I don't know. This house looks nice. There are,
there are enough beds to sleep in. Like I think that's something to me where like I just don't
care that much. And then also she ended up staying at the house, right? See, I feel opposite of you.
I think I would have been more like where I was like, I'm going to the hotel room.
I feel they're on a TV show, a hit-ish TV show.
Like, I feel like the least they could do is get everyone their own room.
I like the chaos as an audience member of like they always will have one less or people always have to pair up.
Right.
And I think they do that production-wise to, like, cause chaos.
Yes, there's definitely an intention to, like.
They could find a bigger house, right?
They could find a bigger house with a room for everybody.
Yeah.
Or there are hotels or there are, you know, there are, you know, properties with like,
there's then the guest house sometimes where people stay.
This is maybe a deep cut, but there was a season of America's Next Top Model.
I love you so much.
They had deliberately put one, two few beds in the house.
And so somebody had to sleep on a beanbag chair.
And then the person who was the odd one out when the women were not in the house peed on one of the beds.
So she could claim it as her own.
What was Tyra is such a menace to society putting that show on?
upon us. I loved her. But it's like, it's, okay, America's next top model. I feel like that's, like,
that's like a psychological experiment. Housewives, I feel like they just want it to be entertaining when
they're choosing the rooms. But, like, you could accomplish that by just having, like, one shittier
room. Like, on this house, they're like, oh, that's the nanny bedroom. And I'm like, God forbid,
the nanny bedroom. The one thing about the nanny bedroom that I thought was the big plus is it's,
they said they had their own bathroom. So, like, to me, I would have won in my own bathroom.
It's a real give and take. Like, for, like, this season on Potom.
I did laugh my ass off when Giselle and Karen had to share a bathroom.
Like that's, yeah, it depends on the cast, too.
And how it's, yeah, sometimes it's funny.
And it was always so gripping to watch them have to choose rooms.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I know, anytime you mention the old rony people in the comments, like, you're holding on to
the old rony or something.
And I just want to say, we're not holding on to the old rony, but I think you can look
at the new one and see differences.
I think there's a difference between saying, I miss, I miss the good old days and saying,
like put Ramona in 2024 as a 60 whatever year old woman back on housewives of New York.
Like there's a gap between those two things.
And like I don't know that I necessarily need that again.
Yeah, I like seeing like it's fun also to see Luanne pop up or in these other weird things
that we wouldn't see her in if she was on that show or Durinda's going to be on Traders.
I kind of like that we're also getting to see those old Rooney women in new scenarios.
Yeah, it does feel like maybe Ramona is sort of the exception there that the rest of them still have value to, whether it's to like NBC Universal or...
Do you think Ramona has no value to anyone anymore?
I think that Ramona has a lot of like sentimental value for what she contributed.
But I think in terms of like if you're looking at, if you're like an executive or a development person looking at 2025 and you're like, how do we get Ramona on a show?
I do feel like she's a rung below Luann, Derinda.
I don't know where Sonia really stands these days.
I know.
I hope so.
I don't know if she does stand.
No, we're wishing Sonia full heath.
Right, but it felt like Crappy Lake was such an investment in Sonia and Luan as kind of like
a property.
And then Luan clearly is still on the, I mean, she's going to be a love hotel.
They should have done a second season of Crappy Lake.
It was so funny.
It's crazy to me that it didn't.
And especially with Paris and Nicole being back now, it's like that people want that type of show still.
Are you excited for Love Hotel, though?
Do you think that's going to be good?
Am I?
I know.
I feel like we haven't seen.
I'm excited if they like there was all that behind the scenes drama.
And like I'm excited like if they present it to us in like an interesting way and all that stuff.
I'm excited by that because, but in terms of like the other stuff, I just feel like I haven't really heard any.
Have you heard anything behind the scenes?
Well, it's interesting because it's like, it's a dating show, but then there's like multiple
housewives on it.
So I'm like, is there going to be content that's like, Jiselle and Shannon arguing or something?
Yeah, I have no idea.
A kind of Girls Trip element to it.
Because I think for me, like, I really liked Ultimate Girls Trip as a concept.
And I think some of the seasons were better than others.
And then there's one that we're never going to see.
And so, like, I'm like, is Love Hotel the alternative to.
Girls trip.
Which would be so cool.
I would love that.
If we get to, I mean, just the idea of, like, Shannon and Luanne interacting is really
exciting.
And so I hope we get to see that stuff.
But I don't, yeah, I don't know.
I'm curious.
I'm assuming it'll air around Valentine's Day.
Probably.
Loveish.
Do you watch dating shows at all?
I dip in, I watch Love Island this past season.
I was, like, obsessed with it.
Although, as soon as I finished Love Island, did you feel like this, did you watch Love Island?
I didn't watch it.
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know.
This season of all seasons I should have watched.
Ariana looked so good.
And like every outfit, I was like, holy shit.
Like I've never, I'm a gay man and I'm just like, she looks stunning.
And there was one gold dress.
Anyway, I loved it.
But as soon as it ended, it was like every single contestant, it was like I was so attached
to all of them.
And then I was just like out of my head.
I think that is something I struggle with because I know people that are still super
invested in the Bachelor side of things.
And like part of, I used to watch it on and off.
But like, part of the thing that I didn't like was like, I don't want to meet 30 new
women every year and then follow them on Instagram and see what brand deals they're doing.
And if they're going on Paradise next season, like, to me, like, something that I like more
is watching an ensemble grow and change and have, you know, these ongoing kind of conflicts.
And so I think, like, even with something like Vanderpump Rules now, knowing that they're bringing
in a new cast, I'm like, I'm open to it.
But like, I don't, I'm not assuming that they're going to be amazing.
I feel similarly, and like part of the appeal to these shows for me at this point now that I've been watching the network for 17, 20 years or whatever it's been.
The appeal to me now is kind of growing with the people and seeing like how those, their lives, you know, like someone like Shannon Bador or drama or not drama, just like following them over a long period of time, I think is the most fun part.
And so I don't like I don't like a full rebooted thing because I feel like I don't have my anchors there of like that I followed for all these years.
And yeah, there might be a couple times where they're having bad seasons or something like that.
But it's like I'm not ready to give up that parasycial relationship that I've had with these people for 100 years.
Yeah, even like on this most recent episode of Beverly Hills, when Kyle and Doreet start arguing about things that have happened four or five years ago on the show and they can go straight to the footage and say exactly what Dorete said about the Kyle X Shihita fashion show.
It's like that we've earned that.
And don't you feel that way about Scandival that happened?
Yes.
We had a really flop a couple of seasons.
I'd say at least two seasons, ish beforehand.
Eight, nine kind of Avacamp Rules.
There was a couple seasons there that were bad.
That we all watching were like,
this shows a mess, figure it out, whatever.
But then we got Scandival and I don't think the nation or the fan base
would have been as captivated by that
if they hadn't spent so much time with these people
or if they were a first season person.
So I think you lose that power of being able to flash back to 10 years ago.
And so I like that part of it.
as I've been watching these shows for so long.
I don't like they recast.
I think that's something where like I obviously when a show is on for a long,
has the same cast for a long time,
like from a logistical standpoint that that can cause headaches
and obviously it gets expensive and all of that.
But like I do think from an audience buy-in perspective,
like you can't underestimate the power of following the same group of people
for like five plus years.
And those relationships, I think like, I mean, Southern Charm just came back.
That's another example of like with Kyle and not Kyle with Shep and Austin and Craig.
Like that whole like weird dynamic that they have like we've ridden the ways.
It's because of the history that we're interested in.
Exactly.
Even I feel like Salt Lake is kind of just getting to that point where it's like they're in their fifth season and most of them have been there from the start.
And like it feels like we have a lot to draw from when we're talking about their relationships now.
And maybe that'll be the secret sauce for like the new Roney.
If they do stick with them, it's like maybe in three years.
after we've spent so much time with them.
I'm trying to be positive.
So good, so good, so good.

It's time for a trip to rock.
Work your magic.
Can I tell you something else positive about Bravo that I haven't been able to talk to anyone about?
But you mentioned Southern Charm and I'm loving Molly.
Okay.
Okay. Did you see the one for this week?
I haven't watched. No, I've only seen the first episode.
So after the second one, I think it's airing tonight as of this recording.
But I love her.
She's like very refreshing to me.
I like that she, I don't know exactly how old she is, but I know that she's not like 23 and I appreciate that.
Because when she, because, I mean, not to belabor America's next top model,
but she was on America's Next Top Model in, like, 2011.
And so I'm like, okay, you're like at minimum, I don't know, 32 or something.
All roads lead back to Tyra.
But like I appreciated that because I feel like maybe a mistake that they've made a little bit is like for Southern Charm
and maybe for Summerhouse or Vanderpump a little bit too.
they're like, okay, this is the show with the young people.
So when we're casting new people, we got to find like the hot new 25 year old.
And I'm like, it's actually more compelling when you have people that are around the same age.
And like, most of the people on Southern Charm are not 25.
I know.
I just, I had to Google Shep's age.
Literally, I was watching the episode because there's a thing in this week's episode about the ages.
And I was like, I have no idea how old Shep is.
He's like 50, right?
You could have told me 55.
I would have believed you.
You could have told me 40.
I would have believed you.
I don't, well, I don't know if I believe.
If you squinted.
Yeah, but I was like, I had to look it up.
He's 44.
Whitney Suther Smith is 56.
Oh, my God.
He has a look this week's episode that's so Lisa Rennacoded.
It's like an animal print.
Oh, yeah.
It's fair.
And it's like got some highlights and stuff.
And I don't know, every once in a while I look at.
He's got the shag going on.
Every once in a while I look at Whitney and I'm like, do I find him attractive?
I know, we could maybe cut that out.
I get it.
I see it.
I think.
It's a little Lisa Rinnecoded
There's an outfit
Will you text me?
Please, you'll know it
As soon as you see it
You'll be like
Hmm
Shown up to that Easter dinner
Looking a little Rinnish
It is he
He has been able to do a remarkable thing
Of like always being on the show
And also not really being on the show
And shouldn't it be a little bit of an HR issue
That he's like always dating these new people
Mr.
Executive Producer
Yeah I'm like wait
He's the executive producer
And they're bringing on people
That have like dated him like Molly
I'm like, wait.
But I love it.
I think Southern Charm is another show that kind of like
Vanderpump, like they were in the wilderness for a couple of years.
And then they've like, they've kind of recaptured the, I don't know, the special sauce.
I think they have to.
Do you think they'll recast that though?
Because that shows probably getting expensive.
It must.
I guess you're right.
It must be.
I mean, thinking of the shows that have kind of these like, now we're getting into that like 10 season area.
I mean, like New Jersey.
Jersey full question mark at this point?
You know the thing about casting with Southern Charm that maybe does separate?
I'm just thinking of this now.
And this is misogyny.
So I'm not agreeing with this.
But I do think there is something to be said about like the sort of quote unquote stars of Southern Charm are these men.
Yeah.
And it's it they're always dating these younger women and like those kinds of like whatever kind of guy.
Like they're out with these young.
That's a good point.
So it maybe works a little bit easier.
Yeah, that it was like Cameron was kind of the like Cameron, Cameron and Catherine were on the show for a long time.
And then it was like since then it's been a little bit of a revolving door.
I mean, Madison has been around, but she was, she left for a season.
Like I think if you leave for a season, then you kind of probably reset your paycheck, at least to a certain point.
Like you're not necessarily on the same trajectory.
But yeah, I mean, it is, it's something worth thinking about.
I think that like they don't want to have the same 12 people on a show.
for 12 years because then they're paying everybody
a 12 year kind of salary.
I don't know.
What would Southern Charm be, though,
if they tried to, like,
I feel like, I don't know if that would work in.
I don't know.
I feel like they, with all of them,
I think they need to keep a couple anchors.
Although I do kind of feel like it might be
time for Craig and Page to do a
spin-off show or something.
That would make sense to me, because I think that, I mean,
they've been, I don't even know how long
they've been together, but it feels like since,
I don't know, it's been like two full years.
now that it's like, well, I'm in Charleston and she's in New York.
It's like not believable anymore.
Right.
It's a little weird.
It's like when do you kind of decide?
I mean, if you want to live both places, that's fine.
But like it seems like neither of them have really like jumped.
I don't know.
Every week there's a rumor that they broke up.
And I'm like until I hear it from Page's mouth.
If they did a spin off the two of them, what do you think it would work?
Or what do you think it would even be?
Like, I don't know if the drama aspect would work or if they would have to lean in
like some other...
It would just be like an Amazon Live.
It's hard because the...
Which I'm sure they'll end up doing a spinoff with Amazon Live.
The spinoffs that aren't like ensemble focused are so...
It's weird.
Jarring.
Because it's like you're taking somebody that you liked in a certain context and reframing
them and like putting sort of the entire, every egg in their basket kind of.
And like, I don't know.
Like Paige DeSorbo is somebody who I think.
think is great on Summerhouse, partially because she's such a good commentator on other people's
stuff.
And so it's like if the whole show is just her stuff, I'm not saying she's uninteresting,
but it's like, what is the plot?
Where is the?
I have this fantasy and I've said this on my show before.
There are no Bethany and Jason.
Do you watch that spinoff?
Bethany ever after?
Bethany ever after?
You never watched it all the way through.
Not all the way through.
Okay, Dylan.
As soon as we're done here.
please go to the cock, peacock.
Cancel my meetings.
Cancel everything you have for the rest of the day.
I watch it once a year.
Bethany getting married, which was one season,
and then into Bethany Ever After,
every single year I watch it.
I'll probably be doing it over the holiday season.
Once you've watched deck the walls.
Watch deck the wall.
Where's my camera?
Watch deck the walls.
Read Jolly's bunch, you know, do all those things.
But then, yeah, watch Bethany Ever After.
It's like every single time I watch I notice different things.
It's so layered.
You watch the dissolution of a relation.
So you see like,
wedding and then full dissolution of their relationship.
Yeah.
And it's fascinating.
It is wild when those, when there are those shows on TV.
Like I think another example is maybe like pretty wild, like the Alexis
Myers show where it's like they didn't quite know what they were going to get.
And then they got magic.
It's still.
And Bethany ever after two, it starts really slow.
So you're like, this is boring.
Nothing's happening.
But then by the end, you're like, wait, I just watched the full arc of a marriage.
It's haunting.
But with the page thing, I feel like,
this maybe isn't super popular, but I think Paige could move into, like, scripted.
I think she's so stunning on camera.
Okay.
And I love, I like her personality a lot.
Like, I feel like she has like the it factor to do other things outside of reality TV.
Then I'm like, let's, I don't know how we get them going.
Well, you know, I actually have had this thought about Bryn this season on New York that I, I think she
could be somebody, like a host or presenter kind of person or something.
to me it's like she has that like personality spark and that charisma but I'm like I don't know if
you really want to be doing this well and maybe they also with page or um somewhat with
Bryn too it's like maybe they just are the normal people who don't have the kind of drama
that works on reality TV and so maybe it would work somewhere better but yeah page whenever
I see her host or something I'm like I'm so shocked that like they're how I mean I guess certain
places have hired her for different things but I'm like gotta
I don't know. I feel like she could have like an Ariana, the way that Ariana who's killing it.
I mean, I think there is something, it's like, you know, her and her and Hannah are doing so well with the Giggly Squad stuff.
And like I think, I feel like she's somebody like, if I were to rank maybe like 10 Bravo Labs who I think.
Okay, do it now.
Well, who have maybe like more gas in the tank than just however long they stay on their show.
I feel like Paige is somebody who's like, yeah, she's like a, she's a beautiful woman who looks good in clothes and has a great energy.
and has this wit to her.
Like, I think that she's somebody who it's like, yeah,
if you're looking from an outside perspective
and are like, who from this pool with a dedicated fan base
do I want to pull into my other project?
Like, she would make sense.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, name who are some of your other talk.
I mean, Ariana is kind of like the obvious example.
But don't you feel like Ariana works better off reality TV too?
Outside of the scand-of-all thing, and I would say this to her all the time,
it's like, I don't, I don't ever thought.
I never thought the show captured who she is really in real life at all.
Yeah, it's like she operates at like a slightly, maybe like a lower frequency a little bit that the cameras don't necessarily really like pick up on.
And then I feel like all of her work outside of that, you see a little bit more of that spark that she has.
But I feel like she's so much, she's thriving so much better off reality TV.
Yeah, I think that like.
And Paige might be too in that like I never think of any drama really with Paige.
Yeah.
Like I'm interested in.
somebody like Candice Dillard is going to do kind of now that she's not on the show.
Like she obviously has her music that she's doing and she's a new mom.
But like I feel like she has an energy too like that could be good for something.
I mean, I think with Jersey now, that's a big question of like if this show isn't coming back or isn't coming back with any of the people or most of the people.
It's like, okay, so Melissa's doing a sprinkle cookie business.
Like is that, is there a lifestyle empire that's yet to be discovered there?
like is, I mean, Margaret Joseph's is like such a personality.
Obviously, Teresa is like a pillar of housewives, but like kind of, I think for the, for most of them, if they don't know yet what the future is going to be on Bravo, it's like, okay, so like what else do we have?
Right. Where are we going?
I don't know.
No, I'll be curious about Jersey.
Jersey, it seems to me like, they clearly pretty early were like, no, nothing is happening until 2025.
But then it's like 2025s in two weeks.
I sort of feel like we should just keep the same cast.
Or like not fully cast, same cast.
I hear you.
I sort of feel like we should keep at least like half the cast.
Well, I think, I mean, we have a bunch of different kind of like reboots or potential reboots or questionable things on the table.
And it's like, I think we maybe have the evidence that it's like cutting the whole cast and starting fresh.
I don't think is what people want at this point.
if people don't know what they want.
And on Jersey, I think you have some people like,
Dolores hasn't been around since season one.
She's the glue of that show.
So it shouldn't be that tough for a paycheck.
You know what I mean?
Finanials for the show, shouldn't it?
You know, so I think like bringing people like Dolores
and I like Rachel Fudai, I think would be great back.
And, you know, I think there's a, and then I think also there's so many different
ways you could formulate, or I would formulate around those two.
Yeah, I've thought about.
Like, you could do the Teresa or you could do the Melissa.
I think there's so many different ways.
I've thought about what it would look like if you just cut Melissa and Teresa and just like cobbled together a group without them.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't, it's one of those things where it's hard because to film a show, you have to decide.
But then it's like you're not going to know exactly how it's going to work until after you film the show.
And look, everyone could yell at me all they want.
But I think like with Teresa, whether you like her or not, like I have been with her for so long.
I'm not ready to give up that parissocial relationship that we have watching her and the daughters on TV.
Like, I don't know what I don't know that I'm ready to give up that story.
So like what do you think about, I feel like Teresa is one of the people that gets the most spin-off chatter just because she has that longstanding.
She has the daughters.
She has Louis for better for worse.
I think it makes sense for her.
If they were to position Jersey that, I think the kind of way forward that makes the most sense to me is like give Teresa and the daughters.
a spin-off and then kind of regroup the jersey around, you know, certain people or whoever it would be.
It's hard also because then you take into account like the online response to things.
And it's like, would there ever be, if they fired Teresa and kept Melissa.
Jen Fezler, I also think they should keep on like Jen Fezler.
I'm sorry.
But if they did that, would they ever be able to have a post about New Jersey that's not just like bring back Teresa?
Because it's hard.
I mean, not that the comment section.
is how you should be making every production decision.
But like, if there is always going to be this like negativity hanging over it, then it's, it's tough to really move forward.
Well, and unfortunately, I think that is, if you look at the ratings, Jersey ratings were great this year.
Like, better than I think almost all of them.
But I do think that sort of like online vitriol influences the network more than maybe fans might realize.
Because with Jersey, there is a different kind of thing online, right?
You know that with comments and stuff.
whenever.
It's a little bit more of like a darkness, a dark energy.
It's just like so, and all of the social media platform, if you post anything, I was on a watch what happens live for Jersey finale night.
And it was like, I was shocked at some of the things people were saying.
Like, it was so.
Right.
It scared.
I had to like not read stuff because I was like, I can't look at this.
It makes a hard to take a stancer to have an opinion on something.
And also, I mean, like, just knowing like from from my end, something that I experience is like, do they want the housewives to be out there doing press?
and, you know, coming on podcasts and, you know, doing interviews and things, if the, if the
temperature is really high in a negative way around anyone with the cast, it becomes really hard
to kind of promote the show to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, yeah, even on my podcast, as I'm sure, you know, here too, it's like, there's been times
like, I don't know if I even want to dive into those waters, like with a guest or something.
I'd rather just, you know, do a solo recap podcast.
Like, I don't, you know, I don't want to deal with all the comments of people getting so.
But Jersey, I feel like more than any of the other franchises, that thing online, people get so mean.
And I feel like it's, if everyone would kind of step back, maybe we would get the show would be good.
And they'd be able to work out those cast dynamics a little bit easier.
But I feel like they must take that into consideration.

I mean, something that I feel like I've really enjoyed
about Salt Lake this season is that I feel like
everybody's just like having a good time.
I know, the Salt Lake fans are a good group, I feel like.
And also they realize, I think the storylines move so quickly in Salt Lake
and the Allegiances move so quickly.
Yes.
Even the fan bases don't have time to, like, really attach to a fan base.
So if they're, like, a super, I don't know, Lisa Barlow fan and Lisa's turning on Meredith,
it's like two weeks later, her and Meredith are best friends.
So, like, the fan base doesn't even have time to, like, rally around.
It almost doesn't, yeah, it's not a show that lends itself to being so, you know, polarized necessarily
because it feels like the group is in a constant shifting.
Chaos.
And also it's like, yeah, it's so ridiculous.
Like the things that there are, I mean, the whole like, the whole like high body count.
It's so good.
The carous d'armatique.
On social media, it's like, I did see some reaction that was like, oh, it's, it's
Angie's slut shaming and that's really fucked up.
And I get that.
But then also it's like, it's like, it's just so silly.
I know.
And I feel like they all know it's silly.
You see them kind of laughing and smiling.
Like, if you were to really freeze frame that show in that episode, like you could see all
of them sort of laughing at different moments.
I look like a mother.
Yeah.
Like, they're having fun.
creating a show and entertaining.
And I do think there's real emotion there.
I don't think they're making up everything.
But I think they are having a little wink and a nudge with us.
Yeah.
And I think maybe, I mean, they are aside from Dubai RIP, like they're the most recent
new franchise and the way that they are able to kind of like, I think like turn up
the volume in a way that's like a little bit of a wink almost to like doing house
wifery.
Yeah.
But without it.
feeling like so...
To set up.
Right.
I think like the...
Because they balance it with those other scenes.
I'm so sorry to interrupt it.
They balance it with those scenes like the Mary Robert Jr.
Or some of those like, you know,
anchory things.
Right.
Like if the show felt like a parody of itself,
then trying to do those more emotional scenes or even the parts of Meredith's
Bat Mitzvahed that were really lovely and meaningful,
clearly to her.
And I think probably to a lot of people watching,
like that wouldn't land if it felt like the show was only like a
R2 inversion of itself.
And I think, I don't, I mean, clearly that's not an easy thing to just, like, recreate
or else we would have, like, eight amazing, wonderful franchises.
But they did a great job casting in Utah with those women.
They did a great job casting in Utah.
I love that show.
I really think that show this season, but even previous seasons, too, I'm like, the larger
television landscape needs to realize, like, how great it is.
It's, like, edited, great, great casting.
It's a great entertaining show.
I think they're doing something, and it feels different than any other franchise in a way that's really exciting.
I think, like, the Miami reboot, I think also has kind of captured, like, a little bit of a fresher energy, too.
Have you heard about the new season of Miami?
Bits and pieces.
I've heard things behind the scenes that get me really excited.
I mean, I'm always excited for Miami.
I was really excited to hear that they came back from their cast trip to Spain.
They did Bravo Van Fest in Miami, and then we're immediately embarking on a two-day,
Virgin Voyages cruise to nowhere.
The cruise had no ports.
Sure. Why would they?
They just did a lap around, I don't know, around Miami.
Harkens back to Bethany Ever After, which you wouldn't know this because you haven't
watched, but she gets lost at sea with Dr. Amador, the therapist.
They're on a couple's trip.
They invite the therapist on a boat to give them counseling, and then they get lost
at sea.
Okay, that's a teaser for people to watch it.
Okay, a teaser for a 15-year-old show.
But I just like the idea of those women just existing on a cruise ship, I'm like, immediately I'm in.
Immediately I'm sold.
I'll watch Audrianna just be.
Like, really the Miami women, I'm happy to just watch them be.
Yeah.
Like I want to just see Lars go about her day.
I think that's something where like having that kind of inherent buy-in from the audience where it's like, I'm going to watch the show no matter what.
But like to be excited to watch it, like that's not every show has that.
You know, with Miami, I haven't heard any specifics of like this, a specific event, you know,
but everything that I've heard about the upcoming season just anecdotally from people working on the show is like, oh, it's fucking good.
Yeah.
Like, so I'm excited.
I hope it's.
Yeah. We have a lot happening right now, but then you also have to have, like, I'm always thinking about like, okay, so like in six months, what's, what's happening?
Yeah, where are we at then?
Is Atlanta going to be watchable?
I feel like we have the valley, which is going to be good.
Of course.
I've heard Miami's really great.
Atlanta, I sort of actually have been turning a corner on Atlanta because I was worried about it.
And then I heard Andy say that they're going to be showing the Kenya stuff.
Yes.
Yeah, he confirmed that at the fan fest, that that's going to be part of the show.
So that makes me excited about it.
And Kenya even gave an interview.
So my guess is like Kenya also will pop in at the reunion or at the end of the series or season.
Yeah, it seems like there's, I don't know who it's originating from, but like Kenya is timing the press cycle so that by the time the show is on,
and she will at least be able to sort of like show her face.
Right.
So I think it'll, and I think there's too much pressure to,
they have to make Atlanta good.
I think they can't screw it up.
Because if,
I think if they screw up Atlanta this season,
there might have to be a bigger reboot or something happening.
Or I think that's where the creatives will go.
But so I hope that they're just taking time to like really get it right.
And I'm starting to think maybe they are.
I think, I mean,
bringing Porsche back,
obviously, Fadro was not on the show for the first like chunk of whatever they filmed.
I'm worried about that part, which we'll talk about in a second.
We'll see, but it feels like they are sort of like investing in it in a way that feels intentional.
Like they know they can't fuck it up.
Also, I got to say, I have a soft spot for Drew Sadora.
She makes me laugh.
I like, I sort of like, Drew, too.
She makes me laugh.
And she's one of those house stories where I'm like, I think you are a little delusional and that I can work with.
I was shocked they brought her back after that singing at the reunion last.
I thought for sure like that, I thought like she was leaving that stage and Andy was like, here's the pink slip.
Like, we're done.
And I'm glad they didn't.
Sometimes the Hail Mary Pass lands at just the right time.
I know.
But I do hope they, I hope it's good because, yeah, I love Atlanta.
And they have some of the peaks of Atlanta are better than anything that's ever been on television.
Yeah.
I think you can tell, though, that they knew that they needed to like try one more time there, but, you know, instead of just kind of like clearing the board.
I'm not feeling super excited about Summer House because I haven't heard anything.
Have you?
No, but also I feel like.
Summerhouse is always kind of like that.
I don't know.
I mean, I think Lindsay's pregnancy seems like it's going to be spotlighted throughout the season,
which, like, you know, congratulations to her.
And I think it's an interesting development sort of for the life of the show.
That is about people drinking and summer weekends.
Yeah.
And when you were talking about Paige and Craig, I was kind of also thinking about there's always
this, like, question in the air of, like, will Lindsay be a housewife someday?
or like what happens when they grow up?
Will they be in the city?
Like it feels like maybe we're,
we're getting closer and closer to like decision time.
I read Ira Madison substack.
It's great.
But he talks about Housewives and recaps some of the shows.
But he was saying about moving Paige and Lindsay to Roney.
And it kind of, he kind of went through the reasons why.
And it just all made sense to me.
And I was like, oh, that actually would, them pivoting to Roney.
And they already have a history dynamic that the Bravo.
audience is aware of and knows.
Right.
And then sort of splintering them off from there could be interesting.
It does feel like if we are all sort of collectively like agreeing that Rony needs some work
after the season that it's like versus bringing back, you know, Sonia and Luann and Ramona,
which I think probably is pretty off the table from a network standpoint.
It feels like maybe the easier thing to figure out would be like bringing some.
somebody else like Lindsay or Paige.
No, that we've spent a lot of time with.
I also think Roney could, an interesting pivot for them could be the
Gena L-Line's Raquel lesbian.
I would love it if it was just like real L-word or, you know, like,
their lesbian friend group.
To me would be more interesting because those are the scenes, like,
Raquel and Mel, I'm like, oh, I want to watch them.
Right.
Raquel and Mel, I find fascinating.
I don't think they are like, they're not housewives in the traditional sense,
which I think is okay.
I just don't know if the show is really like,
work.
I don't know if it's working.
It's just don't work.
I don't know if anything's working.
You could just stop there.
I know.
We're all trying.
I mean,
I'm not trying.
And I just have to say like,
because with Roney,
we were talking about this maybe before we were recording.
It's like anytime you kind of talk trash about it,
a lot of people say,
oh, you're attached to the old Roney or whatever.
But it's like we're just trying to make the show good.
Like,
we're just saying it because it's very clear as an audience member.
If you're watching all of these shows,
there's an obvious quality difference in them.
And so if I'm complaining or saying it's boring or something,
it's like, we just wanted a show to be really good.
And I think the network knows when they're not good, the shows.
There's smart people everywhere.
Yeah.
I don't think I'm saying anything that they don't know already.
No, I know.
It's sometimes I'm like, oh, like, it's not like mean for me to say like this episode is boring.
Yeah.
We want to be good.
Only because we've been with these people forever and we've seen good episodes of the
shows. So like, we want a good episode. Yeah. It's, we'll get there. I have faith.
I've got to hold the faith. It's, it's the holiday season. I'm just so, I'm so glad that
we were able to do this. I know. Thank you for having me. All the Bravo stuff. What are you kind of,
I mean, we've talked a lot about Bravo in the new year. What's your, what's your, what's your, like,
20, 25. You know, just kind of, I'm trying to get a few other projects off the ground and we'll
see. Hopefully. I'm also going to be popping in the Paris and Nicole, or,
reunion thing, I'm popping up in that too. So that'll be out on peacock this weekend. So it was crazy.
Amazing. Yeah, it's so funny. Like I feel like for 20 years, people have been like,
bring the simple life back. And now it's like, it's kind of back. Yeah, yeah, it's crazy.
Wow, here we are. I know. I filmed a few times with them and I went to Sonic with them.
Like, we worked at Sonic together and stuff. And it was so wild to, I felt like I was in,
I mean, I was sort of, but I felt like I was in the episode that I watched.
however many years ago.
For how long they've been in the public eye
and for how much stuff they've done,
I feel like I've never heard
a negative word about either of that.
It's like people just like them so much.
Like they just, I don't know, they're just...
I got to spend a lot of time with them.
And they were, I mean, so great.
So nice and sweet.
And Nicole's like, whip smart, funny.
Like, truly.
She has a great, like, comic.
She's so good.
I mean, she should be...
Obviously, she's an actor anyway,
but she should be the biggest
comedic star in the planet. She's so funny. Yeah. And their chemistry together is just hilarious.
Yeah. It's just always works. Yeah, but so I don't, nothing else really planned other than my
podcast and maybe getting to do some live shows next year or something. I'm trying to work that out.
Okay. Okay. Yeah, that's that's it. Amazing. Well, happy holidays.
Thank you so much. Thank you for having me. Of course. Thanks. And oh, and everyone, check out Deck the Walls.
It'll be airing a bunch of times on the Hallmark channel throughout the season. Thank you, Dylan.
Thank you, Danny. And thanks everyone for listening. And until next time, be cool. Don't be all like uncool.
