Betches Media presents.
Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With me, Dylan Hafer.
We're going to check me, though.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention It All podcast, and welcome back to another week.
It's a little bit warmer.
It's not quite so frigid.
It's a little cold in the studio today, but we have a lot of hot topics to talk about,
so I am not too worried.
And we are catching up on some shows that I feel like I have not had the chance to talk about quite enough.
We're going to talk about traders.
We're going to talk about Southern Charm, which I
has missed for a few weeks
talking on the show.
It's hard.
These Thursday night shows, Traders in Southern Charm,
I'm like, am I waiting until Monday?
Am I recording late?
It's been a little bit of a challenge.
I know.
Life is hard.
We're really working through some stuff over here,
but we are going to talk about Traders,
Southern Charm, and Real Housewives of Potomac,
which of course is plugging their way along to the end of the season
on Sunday night still.
So some interesting stuff happens.
there and also some watch what happens live comments from Mia that I'm excited to pick into a little bit.
Just a lot of stuff in the pot right now. But before we dive into all of those exciting shows,
I want to talk about a show that hasn't come out yet, but we got our first look at it today.
And oh boy, let me tell you, it looks like a piece of shit. And I can't wait to talk about it.
And that is, well, it's not a Bravo show. But I think bear with me, it's worth mentioning.
because coming to TLC
next month
are the Baldwin's.
Alec and Ilaria,
Hillary,
they are getting their own show.
This was reported last year,
you know, several months ago
that it was big news.
Alec and Hillary,
Ilaria,
our favorite Spanish-Bostonian,
they were getting
their own family
docu-series on TLC,
you know,
documenting the life of
what it's like to have seven children and to be from Spain, but also not, but very much not from Spain, but also sometimes you forget the words, like you don't know what you're saying, like cucumber, and also then sometimes to maybe, you know, not maybe to factually have shot someone. There's a lot going into the pot here for the Baldwin's. And when this was announced, obviously it was like an eye roll moment of the century. Also like they have seven kids. They need the paycheck. And that's okay.
I'm okay with people doing shows that they need paychecks from.
Look, here I am three times a week.
I need the paycheck.
But Alec and Hillary are in an interesting place because Alec Baldwin's like 70 years old.
Hillary is younger, Ilaria, sorry.
But they have seven kids that are all under the age of 10, 12, little kids, young-ass babies.
And their life seems a wee bit chaotic.
And that's something where, like, when you think about, oh, it's this family that has so much going on, you know, the John and K Plus 8, the 19 kids and counting, cursed, cursed, curse all the way down.
None of these, like, huge family chaos shows, I think, have ever really been a signal of good things happening.
I mean, I guess, no, I was going to say the Kardashians, but, like, first of all, questionable.
And also, like, that's a different format of show.
because that's like we're one big family with sisters and a momager and we're dating and whatever.
No, this is Alec and Hillary with seven little-ass kids.
But when this was announced, the most interesting thing to me was the TLC of it all.
Because I don't know about you, but I personally am not really checking for TLC in 2025.
And perhaps this is a blind spot of mine.
I'm sure there are some among our wide swath of listeners and friends that are going to be like,
that's actually so crazy that you don't watch TLC because I, there are 45 different versions of 90-day fiancé,
and every single one of them is I can't miss appointment television.
And actually, the best one is 90-day, the other way flip-flopped back and forth.
And that one only has 12 seasons, so you can catch up really easily.
I have the utmost, the utmost respect for the 90-day fiancé universe stands out there personally.
And I felt this way for a few years, like, that's a boat that left the harbor without me on it.
And at a certain point, I'm not a good enough swimmer to catch up with the boat.
If the boat was, you know, inching away from its moorings and I was able to sort of do like a running jump,
and clawed my way onto the boat.
Maybe in like 2018, we could have done that.
Unfortunately, well, no, not unfortunately.
We're here talking about Bravo.
I've spent the last several years of my life
really devoted to keeping up with Bravo
and doing my, you know, my God's
honest duty to bring all of this
Bravo content to you.
And so 90-day fiancé, I'm sorry, I don't have time for that.
And I don't watch sister wives.
Is that TLC?
There's like 1,000-pound sisters.
I'm sorry, I can't.
I can't with the TLC of it all.
So that's why for Alec and Hillary
to go to TLC for their project, let's just say that.
It was a little bit of an eyebrow razor
because you have to think,
I don't know the behind the scenes of this show
coming into existence,
but like if Alec and Hillary are sitting down
with their financial planner
and looking at the documents
and saying, well, shit,
We've got a boatload of kids, a boatload of legal fees, a boatload of probably paying for Ilaria's crisis PR of when everybody realized that she's not actually Spanish.
That's a lot of expenses.
And you know what they don't have a lot of, probably, is checks coming in the door.
Because Alec Baldwin, Oscar-nominated actor, I think.
I watch movies from the 90s sometimes.
and Alec Baldwin was the guy, sort of.
So good, so good.

Girl, winter is so last season.
And now spring's got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs.
You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sundress.

It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.
I was rewatching 30 Rock recently.
Iconic. Amazing.
Alec Baldwin in that show, Chef's Kiss.
That show ended damn near 15 years ago.
The checks aren't coming in the door the way they used to.
So I understand why the financial planner was like, hey, what about opening your life up to reality TV cameras?
And, you know, Alec probably didn't want to.
And Hillary probably was like, yes.
But I can't imagine that TLC was like the first choice.
I'm sure that Hillary was calling up Hulu.
I'm sure Amazon, Prime, Max, YouTube TV originals,
is that still a thing?
I just, there's no way that I can see TLC being like in the top 10 choices.
I just know that they were having a conversation and Ilario was like,
we could look at Netflix, we could look at Prime Video,
we could look at how you say Hulu.
They got TLC.
And so this trailer came out today.
It's premiering February 23rd, I think, and, Mama, this is garbage.
To quote Bob the Drag Queen, our deceased traitor from this season.
It looks so bad.
And I say that, and I mean that in multiple ways, because it, visually, the production
value of this show looks poor.
And this trailer, it's, you know, it's brief, but it's like, we're following.
them around some like petting zoo with the kids.
There's footage of them at home.
There's like a drone shot of the set of rust where Alec Baldwin killed a woman.
There's like a lot to look at, but none of it looks good.
And so that's kind of like strike one.
And then what I would say strike two is the show looks boring beyond belief.
Because there is this thread that they're drawing of talking.
of talking about or maybe not talking about, but sort of existing in the wake of the rust shooting,
which not to make light of, was a tragic event where a woman died. And obviously, the specifics of that
situation are complicated and have played out and are still playing out in numerous different court cases.
And I don't expect the Baldwin's on TLC to unpack every nuance of that.
But this is the way that this story is introduced in this trailer.
It's a voiceover of Ilaria saying,
a son lost his mom in the most tragic of circumstances.
And that can never be forgotten.
And then immediately we pivot back to the Baldwinitos going to a petting zoo
and Alec Baldwin getting a haircut.
And there's a joke about how he's old.
First of all, the level of passive voice applied to this situation,
where your husband was holding the gun that killed someone
to transition that into a son lost his mom.
Not true.
Like factually correct.
But whoof.
Like the mental gymnastics here on display.
But then also it's just like I would almost rather that they didn't talk about it at all.
Like if it's going to be framed on the show as this like trial and tribunuchion.
that Alec has had to go through
and then the whole family has been stressed
and of course
it's a horrible tragedy
but like we are going to persist
and go to the petting zoo
because we have kids to race
like it just is a strange look
and I would rather
I would almost rather them just be like
oh it's like an older actor married to this yoga lady
and look at how many kids they have
at least if it's like the Baldwin family circus
then you don't have to have this weird
off-putting energy lingering
over it that's the drone shot of the
rest set that we've all seen 500 times
and I'm sure
we'll see how the edit goes
but if they let Alec talk
in front of the camera about this
how long is it going to be before he's like
this bitch prosecutor blah blah blah
they're trying to make well you know that he says that shit
behind closed doors well
we don't know allegedly
my guess
anyway
I don't need to ramble on about this show anymore
but like does anybody actually want this
interestingly, in this minute and a half trailer for this show,
they're talking about Alex shit.
There's no mention of like,
so two years ago, a woman was exposed for not being Spanish,
for lying misleading about her background.

Let's pivot to a show that I've actually watched an episode of, shall we?
Let's talk about traders.
So we are five episodes into the traders this season.
And I continue to be just a wee bit frustrated by the titular traders this season.
Because on last week's episode, Boston Rob pulled off something impressive by flipping things around about the drag queen, running that vote.
getting him out and really like asserting his dominance kind of in the game.
And Carolyn and Danielle, the other traitors are so pissed off at Boston Rob.
Carolyn, God, I saw a TikTok last night of somebody doing like an impression of Carolyn.
Bob the Drake Queen and Boston Rob.
I love her so much.
But no, they're so furious and they go to the turret and they're like, we can't let Rob just walk all over us.
And then Rob's like, I think we should send home Robin.
And they're like, yeah, that sounds good.
What the fuck?
We've had four murders and three of them have been housewives.
Not only is this frustrating from a Bravo fan point of view because I watch this show to see housewives pretend to understand strategy and competition.
That's what I'm here for.
And I need more than just Dolores.
But it doesn't make sense from a strategic point of view.
Because, spoiler earlier, the first murder, getting rid of Derinda, as painful as that was, I get it.
There are four housewives in the house.
It seems like a likely conclusion that there's probably a traitor.
That's a housewife.
And, you know, you're kind of playing this reverse psychology game by saying, oh, the housewives probably would protect each other, but then they would think that they would protect each other.
So then they're going to send one home.
Sure.
What's the explanation the third time?
Do they really think that somebody's going to think Dolores is in the traitor being like,
I want to be the only housewife in the house.
No, you're stupid.
You're dumb.
You're being dumb.
So Robin is sent home, which, like, is not the greatest loss to this season.
Because Robin comes and goes.
She's not always, like, participating the most, but she's funny.
And I am going to miss that.
So that was unfortunate.
And then they go to this mission, and look, my brain shuts off a little bit when
Allie explains the missions.
But this one, it's like this riddle thing.
And if you get the riddle right, then you get to,
to put a shield, somebody on the wall for a shield, and at the end, then the last two, whatever.
Both times, Danielle, Trader Danielle, gets the riddle right.
She takes somebody else's picture and puts it on the wall.
And every single person on this cast is like, well, if I get the riddle right, I'm obviously
taking my own picture because I want the shield.
and anybody who wouldn't do that
that isn't worried about getting murdered
maybe they're a traitor
and Danielle not once but twice
is like well you know
I just I feel bad for my house size
I don't think Dolores
even Dolores is like
thanks for the shield but like
that's fucking weird
huh
and not until the second time
when somebody's like
Daniel don't you want a shield
and she goes oh
you're right
I didn't think about that
girl what
the whole thing of being a traitor
is that you have to act like you're still worried
about being murdered or banished or whatever
girl use your brain
but so
it just is it's frustrating to watch these traitors
I think sort of
not make smart decisions
and then not work well together
but then not be kind of
scrappy enough to
work really against each other because at the end of this episode
first of all
Nikki, what's her name? Garcia,
I was going to say Nikki Bella, but that's not her real name.
She gets voted out unanimously because two
people, including Crishell, Bambi on Bambi
Crime, tough to see, are like,
Nikki just didn't see, her reactions didn't seem
like, I don't know, like,
her reactions just didn't make sense, and she's so quiet.
What are you talking about? Vote out Danielle,
who just acted so bewildered by the idea
that she would want a shield, that she decided
against her. It's like so,
obvious to me. And it was watching this
episode, and I know,
you know, fog of war, when you're
in the game, it's hard
to take that bird's eye view.
You can't be, not everybody
can be Sandra last season with the pool balls
explaining the strategy of
the whole thing.
I understand that it can be
a little hard to think clearly.
But the fact that nobody
made a serious move
at Danielle last episode
after that Shield situation,
was wild to me.
What are you doing?
Get her.
But no, so Nikki goes home,
and the three of them are going back to the turret,
and Carolyn's, like, freaking out
because she's like, mad at Danielle and mad at Rob,
and she's like, what am I going to do?
Who do we want to vote out, accept each other?
I don't know who they're going to murder.
I don't know who's going to get banished next week,
but I'm really, really hoping.
that next week, this week, another trader gets banished.
Probably Danielle, maybe Rob, I would like Carolyn to stay because she's giving us a lot of facial expressions.
We need to break up this trader dynamic.
And they would probably recruit somebody else.
I don't know who that would be.
But I feel like we just need to like shuffle up this game a little bit.
And also actually banished Boston Rob because the men are getting it a little too easy this season.
That's where I'm at.
But that's traitors.
Let me know who, like, who would be good to be recruited?
I think Chris Shell as a traitor could be fun.
You know, she picks up on energies as she tells us, as she votes for somebody who's a faithful.
Gabby could be fun.
Sierra, I think, would be good at being a traitor.
Lots of options.
I'm still enjoying.
Can we get rid of, like, Derek or what's his name?
The other newer one?
A few, too many of these, like, competitor guys.
I feel like Brittany from Big Brother is waiting to have a moment.
I'm interested in her.
I don't know, fun times, I guess, sort of.
I like traitors.
Today's Alan Cummings' birthday.
Happy birthday, Alan.
He's 60.
He looks good.
Oh, my man, my man, my man.
I don't have a ton to say about Southern Charm.
Catching up these last couple weeks,
the whole Sally and Taylor Ann and Gaston situation,
it's a little bit fishy to me.
Something's not adding up.
because Sally comes into this season, a few episodes late, I couldn't pick this girl out
of a lineup. Who is, who is Sally in this world? And she immediately is like, well, you know,
I have history with Taylor's boyfriend Gaston and, you know, we had like a thing so it's a little awkward.
And within two episodes, this has proliferated into a big deal. Because,
Taylor is saying that they had a fleeing and that she should keep Gaston's name out of her mouth.
And Taylor's being very territorial, which I sort of understand because her last relationship on this show was with Shep, who she could never get on like a 10 mile long leash if she wanted to.
So I understand that now that she has another boyfriend around the group, she's like, this man is for me.
and anybody else who like claims to have any sort of a history with him is like a threat to the territory.
But it sounds like what you really needs to be worried about is Mr. Gaston himself.
First of all, who's named Gaston?
That's the villain in Beauty and the Beast.
I'm sorry.
Gaston is just not a name that I can really allow myself to engage with.
in a real world sense because I'm like, no, like, he eats six dozen eggs.
No one drinks like Gaston.
No one, what's the other word, like Gaston?
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da like Gaston.
Like, Bell just wants to read a book.
Sally just wants to show up on this show and wreak a little havoc.
And that's her right.
But so this version of events that then JT, like, gets himself involved in,
And he's saying that, you know, so Sally says that they said, I love you to each other.
And bless her heart.
She's trying to explain what happened and whether or not she was a homewrecker.
And she's like, well, we met.
And then we went to the parking garage and we made out.
And then I sucked his dick a little.
And it's like, ooh, sorry, what?
And she's like, well, and then I found out he had a girlfriend.
but I was already hooked
so that's not my fault
and it's like
wait wait wait
sorry
was this all in one night
she's like I was hooked
I'm like so you
met him an hour ago
and then
did she suck a stick
in the parking garage
that is what I need clarity on
because I'm like okay
making out in a parking garage
when you're like walking
to your two separate cars
we've all been there
fucking dick in the parking garage
girl
what
you get arrested for that.
Also, like, are you in high school?
Like, just like, go to your house.
Are you in, like, a girl's dormitory where you're not allowed to bring a boy back?
Like, go to a place where one of you lives.
Get a hotel room.
Not in the parking garage.
Sally!
I don't know, but...
But J.T. hears this and is like, well, I cannot, I cannot let this go without me saying
something because
Tyler needs to know
Tyler Ann must know that this man
that she's hitching her
hoagin to is not
a good upstanding gentleman
like he says
and this is like such
it's first of all this is happening at the like
after party for Molly's
tuba concert which is
one of the most wholesome things I've ever seen
the way that she talks about
being involved in music
and playing her instrument and having that
sort of come back into her life.
Truly, I love that so much.
And we'll talk more about Molly in
upcoming weeks because I
don't want to, like, do her dirty, but
like, just so lovely.
She's such a breath of fresh air on this show.
But back to Taylor Ann and J.T. and
Sally and Gaston.
What a shit show?
Because they're at this after party, and JT's
like on his high horse, and he's like, I can't
stay quiet. And Lava's
like, but don't wait.
that Taylor talks about Gaston,
he's literally the one thing
that's bringing her happiness and joy
in this life. And so
I'm not going to go and ruin that for her and take that away from her.
Which, like, first of all,
Taylor Ann, she looks great. I'm happy for her, I guess,
but I would love to see a Taylor Ann...
Why am I saying her middle name every time?
I would love to see her,
maybe just like happy on her own
would love that for her
just a little bit. But JT's response to this
because I get why Leva's like, look, I don't want to get involved.
If Taylor says she's happy, let her be happy
and then if Gaston's really like a loser
at some point she's going to figure it out.
And JT's like, if my friend comes to me
and says I'm addicted to heroin,
I'm not just going to let him keep doing the heroin
and keep my mouth shut.
And it's like, JT.
JT.
What are you talking about?
Taylor having, saying the L word to a guy who maybe got his dick sucked in a parking garage by Sally at some point in time when he may or may not have been with Taylor.
Like, that's shitty.
Of course.
And I don't want Taylor to get her feelings hurt.
But, like, also, shit happens.
I don't know.
Is all of this really that deep?
she's not doing heroin.
Not that I'm aware of.
It's just, it's not, it's not comparable.
I'm sorry.
Like, she's not gonna,
she's not gonna overdose on Gaston
and like, it just, come on, JT, please.
And I am so,
I'm so interested to see JT's kind of arc on this season.
Also, this episode is when he starts flirting with Finita,
which is just, bo-bl-la-low.
I literally am like shivering.
But no, I'm like, knowing that he,
has resigned from the show, like he posted before it started airing.
Watching, kind of mapping his trajectory this season is so interesting, because I'm like,
you're on this, like, weird little side quest, and I don't think it's going to end well for you.
You've, like, pissed off Madison and her marriage.
You have pissed off Miss Patricia.
You had a whole thing with Craig because whatever.
And now he's, like, creating a rift.
Taylor's not going to be happy when she hears this.
He just seems to be like lighting fires
in every corner of this cast
and then like either acting like they're not there
or like pouring a little bit of water on them
and being like, no, it's fine.
I'm really enjoying this season of Southern Charm, though.
I think it's very interesting.
And I think that there are some dynamics of play
that feel new and fresh for the show
and then some things that are like so tried and true and classic.
And I think it's a good combination.
I talked longer about Alec and Hillary than I meant to,
so I'm not going to spend a lot of time on Potomac,
but I do just want to bring up.
We have two kind of like couple situations
that are both happening
sort of in and around and in front of the fourth wall
that I think are very interesting.
And I have spoken, I would say, ill
of Kiyarnas' full-time position on the show this season.
And I do still feel like it's a little bit of a weird,
choice that she's full-time.
I think maybe that was a choice that was made late in the game.
I don't know everything behind the scenes.
But Kiana's one kind of storyline this season is that she and her boyfriend, partner, seemingly about to be fiancé, that she now lives with, they don't seem to agree on pretty much anything.
And I would say, if you're coming onto this show and we're getting to know you for the first time, your main.
storyline being that you and your
your man don't see
eye to eye on absolutely anything
is probably not a great place to start
but over the last couple episodes
we have gotten clarity
from her that the biggest
issue in her relationship
with Greg right now is that
he doesn't want to do the show
he doesn't want her to be on the show
he doesn't care about the show
it's not something he wants in their life
and look
I think it's great that they're
communicating about this.
I think it's a little weird that as
a newbie, she is
being allowed to talk
so openly about
the show being the problem
in her relationship because
I think we forget now.
It used to be that breaking
the fourth wall was like
so taboo,
like break glass in case of
emergency. Maybe it happens
once a season, but not
even that much. Like, we
used to have to really be in the trenches to even get a mention of the cameras or the show.
And I don't love how freely it's being talked about. At the same time, I do think it's interesting.
And in this conversation, this episode, when she and Greg are together, and she brings up that
she feels like she is oftentimes focused on making decisions for him and making sure that he feels
respected and supported and like what's important to him is important to her and that she feels
like he doesn't do that for her at all and that he is not you know he's not taking into account her
feelings and that he's being dismissive and whatever and how does he respond to her accusation
or claim that he is dismissive of her feelings he dismisses those feelings point blank period he's
just like i'm not dismissive no i don't know why you'd say i'd never been dismissive
check please. Like, you're doing, you're, you're doing the thing that you're saying you're not doing
while you're saying you're not doing it. The gaslighting. The whole room smells like gas.
It's crazy. And I don't know, I don't know exactly what Kiana and Greg's like relationship status is
right now. But if I was watching this back, throw the whole man away. She's saying maybe we're not
ready to be living together and we need to go back to our own separate things. You need to go back
to being single and kick him to the curb. Because I'm sorry, it's one thing. I think it's perfectly
valid for somebody to have concerns about being on a show like this or to say they don't want
to participate. Maybe that's an issue you should work out before you join the show versus on the show.
But if he is saying to her, if she's opening up to him and saying, I feel that you are dismissive
of everything I have going on, my feelings, my choices. And he's not willing to engage with that
at all to even say, I don't think that that's what I'm doing, but I, I, I, I acknowledge,
acknowledge that you feel that way. And I acknowledge that I can work to not make you feel that way
and to examine how my choices and my responses to things have made you feel that way because that is
not my intention. He's not giving her any of that. He's saying, no, no, that's not it. And I love that
when Kiyarna goes to lunch with the three OGs, this is before we even saw that scene,
Jazeel and Karen are so clear-headed about this. They're like, if he's not giving her that
right now. He's never going to. So, you know, maybe doing the show is, is a specific thing. And if he doesn't
want to do that, that's his right. But like, if he's not willing to engage with her on, on important life
things like that, you're in the danger zone. It's not, it's not going to get better. You're not even engaged yet. You're
not even married yet. You're trying to have kids. This is like, don't pass go. Don't collect $200.
This is like not a good relationship. And, you know, everybody's on their own journey, but like,
he aren't a girl, get out of there.
Mia was on Watch What Happens Live last night,
and Andy asked about her status with ink
because she had said on social media
that they were broken up,
and she was on there with Quad from married to medicine.
And I love that as Mia started to answer the question,
quad goes,
now say what you told me backstage before we got on the show.
Say exactly what you told me.
Quad-clocking that Mia was about to tell some sort of like
fantasy fable in that moment.
Great. Love her so much.
But Mia's like basically opening up about the fact that ink didn't want to be on the show
And that she needs to get divorced first and she needs to figure her shit out
And it's like stop bringing men on the show
That don't want to be on the show
Because first of all the men aren't going to create good TV
And second of all it's not gonna it's not gonna serve you
But also if you're somebody
Mia's been on the show now for like four or five years
You probably shouldn't be in a serious relationship
relationship with somebody who like actively doesn't want to at the very least like play along they don't need to be an active participant you know not everybody needs to be you know set marks miced up in the tub with meredith marks's toe between his legs but like some level of understanding that it's like at the very least i know this is important to you and i'm not going to like actively work against that i feel like that's a good baseline what can i say dating when you're on reality tv can't be
easy. But I hope that Mia's doing well. I hope that Kiara's doing well. And I hope that
Greg is doing some soul searching and understanding that, you know, maybe he's an asshole.
But without being said, I think that's where we got to leave off today. And we'll see what's
