Hey everyone. Welcome back to the Mention It All podcast and another Friday episode. We have so much to get into. I'm back from vacation. I'm a year older. I'm feeling good. I'm feeling rested. I'm feeling refreshed.

I'm feeling like. I'm on island time a little bit. It has been a busy week, and I want to start by shouting out some of the great stuff we have going on over at Mention It All Inc. We have, earlier this week on the podcast, we had Garcel Bouvet on the show. She came to talk about her new memoir project. It's an audible original, so you can listen to her and narrate it, or you can just listen to me, talk to her about it.

It was a great conversation. I loved my time with Garcell. I felt like I was in the presence of some of. somebody so wise and somebody so experienced in the ways of life. This schedule is no joke.

I came back. I was in lovely Mexico City last week. I celebrated my birthday there. I saw lots of sites. I learned about history. I saw some great art. I ate great food. I drank some mezcal.

It was a good time. And it was nice to be away, but also it was a little bit strange because, as some of you, you know, international jet-setters might know, Peacock don't work abroad. She is U.S. only. And while I was not necessarily, you know, hoping to stay fully immersed in the Bravo sphere while I was on vacation, it's vacation. And for me, this is work.

I'm blessed, I know, but it's work. So I was not hoping to be like ears to the ground. what's happening on Bravo. Though I did in one restaurant, I ate at, I really, really, really thought I saw Whitney from Southern Charm. It was not him. Reader, I was wrong. But it was really strange being out of the country for the first part of this summer house reunion.

Because it just, it felt like such a fucking moment. And, you know, I planned this trip a few months back. I didn't know what was going to happen in late May. I had no way to know. And you guys, if I knew I might have moved to the trip. But the hotel was prepaid. It was too late. We couldn't do anything.

I bought the flight with Miles. They don't let you change that shit later. I don't have a travel agent. So, you know, we missed the first week of the reunion. And I didn't love that for me. I didn't love that for you guys. I mean, we had a good episode last Friday. If you listen, thank.

you mentioned it all mailbag we got to do it every once in a while when I'm on vacation um but summer house man I was I was scrolling on my phone I was on my little iPad in the hotel I didn't bring my laptop you don't bring your laptop on vacation that's how you got to do it if you're bringing your laptop you're getting sucked into slack messages work emails no but I have the iPad and I was like giggling at the iPad watching everybody post their reactions their little tweets, their little memes, their little TikToks from part one of the summer house reunion. And when I got back last weekend, I felt like I just had like a treasure trove of stuff to catch up on.

Because I got to see, oh man, I got to see, you know, Porsche going on dates with men and women on Real Housewives of Atlanta. I got to see, you know, whatever was happening on in the city. You know, we're learning more about our new friends, Georgina. and Yvonne and Kenny and Gavin and Alexi and Andrea and other people's names I kind of don't remember yet. I feel like that'll feel more important in a couple weeks. And I got to watch Real Housewives of Rhode Island and Dolly and Frank Sinatra and all the stuff. But I was most excited and most, it felt most important to sit down and catch up on the Summerhouse reunion.

and oh boy, what a reunion it is. We have now been through two parts. We've got one left. And it's been a doozy. It's been trying times. I have been mostly really pleased with the approach to it from Andy. The way that everybody that's not West and Amanda have been handling their business. It has felt like a reunion that is really giving us what we need.

I would say the two people on the couch who are not giving us necessarily what we need or want. West and Amanda's approach to the whole thing is a bit of a head scratcher. Now, I don't know that there is any perfect way for West or Amanda to approach this reunion. It's a bit of a lose-lose situation. And you know what? They did it to themselves. So I don't feel like, oh, man, it sucks that Amanda's having such a tough reunion. If only she would speak up a little more.

Like, no, like, no. She screwed the pooch. And there's no way to unscrew the pooch for, you know, six to nine months at least. And then we'll see. But still probably not. But the specific stuff that is happening at the reunion, Amanda, um, I never like to speculate or make conjecture about somebody's mental state or what they're, you know, putting in their bot. I don't talk about what people eat.

I don't like, you know, it's just not my place. I think it's a little ugly. But Amanda seems a little bit, she's in a particular zone that seems a little bit distant, a little bit. glazed over, you know, just like she's moving through life in a different pace than I think is like equilibrium, normal. It's very reminiscent to me of a certain Real Housewives of Orange County reunion when Vicky showed up and was also feeling a bit glazed over and a bit just really, really smooth-edged. Like all the corners have just been sanded off.

And, you know, I couldn't say what would do that to a person. But Amanda seems to have done that to her person for this reunion. Her armor of choice is a coating of jello. And while I think that I understand the, I understand the, I understand the, the top process there. It just makes you come across the jello-coding reunion strategy. It just makes you seem like you kind of can't be bothered. And when you combine that specific vibe with also some instances of perhaps eye-rolling or scoffing or complaining about being, you know, yelled at or held accountable or made to feel like an idiot when in fact you've acted like an idiot and aren't

acting accountable. It's all coming together into a reunion performance that I would say is falling just a little bit flat from Ms. Mandy B. And from West, I don't know exactly where we are with him. I mean, I know he's in the dog house. He's in the shitter. He's not doing well. But West's I would say with Amanda, her approach to the reunion, it ain't working, but I know what she was going for. And that is as few feelings, as few sensations as possible. With West, it feels a little bit more like he is still confused about the position he finds himself in. Season one, people really liked him on the show, then he screwed over Sierra, then he was in the doghouse, he handled that poorly. He finally scrabbled his way back after being in the doghouse for season two.

And it really feels like he is still almost, has like a fingernail grip on the trophy that was going to be his. And he still can't quite believe that it's so far out of his grasp. And, you know, he doesn't seem as zonked out. as Amanda does, whatever that means. But he also doesn't seem fully in touch with the myriad ways in which he has upset and hurt and offended basically everybody on the couches. So it's, you know, it's a combined effect from the two of them that is both a very cursed united front, but also sort of differing approaches that are both just leaving a little bit of a sour taste in the mouth. And summer should be fun.

And right now, West and Amanda, it ain't fun. It's not fun. Now, you know, let's get into some specific moments. Because at the end of part one, Sierra has been sharing some words. for Amanda about, you know, West wanting someone weak and somebody who's going to fit into his life. And that's, Amanda's the perfect girl for that because she's not going to, you know, take up too much space or speak up or whatever. And it's, it's tough to hear. As somebody who has spent 10 years with these people, it's, it's tough to hear, even if it's fair.

Even if it's, even if it's warranted. Kyle says it was a little harsh, you know, but, but fair. Harsh but fair. But Amanda's, Amanda's not loving it. And Amanda, Amanda would like to leave. And I, I understand. But, but before we get there, there's a lot, there's a lot going on. Lindsay, of course, reiterates that West is going to do the same thing to Amanda.

You're so fucking good. You're fucking good. You're going to do the same thing to Amanda. And the big thing that is introduced kind of, a little bit in part one, but becomes more central toward the end of part two, is the idea or the allegation or the implication that West was not only, you know, creating problems by his current relationship with Amanda, but that he, in fact, was dating someone else going back to early 2025, which is, of course, before season 10 was filmed.

and also, in theory, during last summer, while we were filming season 10, while we were watching him go back and forth and, you know, avoid the question and then make up and have a conversation and make out do ear stuff with Sierra, that he was in some sort of relationship with a woman named Mija for the whole time. The whole time? Mrs. Doubtfire, if anybody's. And Lindsay says, you are a pathy. We believe nothing. Now, this is, I love learning new words. You know, big, big words, small words, SAT words. Pathy.

Using Pathy as an abbreviation for pathological liar is, so inspired, so creative, so new and different, but so simple and so effective, you are a pathie, we believe nothing. Put that on a t-shirt. Do the Carl's MS, you are a pathy, we believe nothing. Donate some proceeds to charity. It's good. Lindsay has not lost her touch. Now, we do get a lot of KJ and also some Dara, which we'll get to in this episode. But we got to address, there has been some stuff going on with KJ and Dara off the show that is making me, it's making me a little nervous. So KJ has opened up in this reunion about his struggles with mental health and talking about how, you know, after the season, finished shooting. He was, you know, really struggling with his mental health, and he ended up

receiving treatment and being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. And, you know, recently also in the press, he was on Carl's podcast and opened up more about this. He's also, you know, I think done some other interviews. He's gotten into details about some of his struggles and, you know, really difficult topics, like things like self-harm and, you know, really just deepen the weeds of mental health in a way that is really brave to share, but also just really hard to hear. And KJ, of course, I mean, people loved KJ watching this season. He has been a great addition to the house. But hearing all of this happen, you know, in the wake of filming and basically as part of the sort of come down from filming, his first season of this show, it does, it gives me pause in the sense of, I really like this guy.

I really want him to be okay. And obviously mental health is a really personalized thing. It's different for everybody. People struggle with it in a million different ways. But reality TV is also something that is different for everyone. it affects everyone who does it in a different way. Some people, it's a really positive experience. Some people, it's a really negative experience.

Some people, it changes. And it makes me nervous to hear that KJ had this type of reaction to his first experience doing reality TV. And it does make you question, like, for this person's well-being, is this environment healthy, safe, positive. And, you know, I don't know what the answer. Obviously, like, I'm not, you know, KJ should talk about this with like his therapist and his doctors and whatever. But like, man, it's just, it's hard to hear.

And I hope he's, I hope he's doing okay. But then we also this week have this, these developments across social media of, it seems like KJ and Dara might not be together. And, you know, we're, we're watching the. reunion right now. They're very together on the reunion. When Dara comes on the couch, she says that it's probably the most impactful relationship she'll ever have. We also found out this week from KJ, I think it was on his interview on Carl's podcast. He talked more about what he went through in the fall and also that he and Dara broke up for a certain period of time in the fall

while he was really going through the heaviest part of this struggle, basically because he needed to figure it out. And obviously they got back together and have been together, I think the whole time the season's been airing. But now it seems like they have either unfollowed each other on Instagram or somebody's been blocked. There's been, you know, kind of cryptic. He's posted some stuff on threads that's a little cryptic.

maybe some photos have been deleted. But also, KJ just put out a music video this week that Dara's in. It's a very, it's a little, it feels messy in a way that just makes me sad and a little anxious because I really like these people and because I want them to be good. And to me, KJ and Dara aren't the kind of relationship that feels like a reality TV couple where I'm like, ooh, they're going to break up next season and that's going to be a good storyline. I'm like, no, they're going to, they're going to break up and it's going to be really depressing. So I, I hope they're okay.

Whether or not they're together, now moving forward, whatever, I just like, I don't, I don't want anyone to be struggling. And I know, you know, we live in a world. It's not realistic. But like, tough stuff. I hope everything's okay. But, you know, let's move on. So KJ, KJ says that this situation with West and Amanda has really,

hurt him in particular because he grew up watching his mom be treated poorly by his dad. Over and over, you know, he was a habitual liar and, you know, was not being, it sounds like not being faithful and all of this stuff. And so now he's watching Amanda and West move this way and that it's triggering to him. And he's seeing a correlation. And also he brings up the the conversation that they had in the house about racial dynamics over the summer and specifically Sierra talking about the things that she has to navigate dating white men and the complications of that and the ways that she is judged and scrutinized and, you know, treated on national television because of these relationships and that he doesn't want to see Sierra treated like

this by West by anyone. And I thought that this moment was a really nice reminder of how many different layers there are to this situation. And I know that some people in the last, you know, couple months since we found out about all of this, like, KJ has been very outwardly upset and disappointed and distraught about the situation. And I've seen some people kind of have the reaction of like, why is KJ putting himself in the middle of, this like he's only been here for one season it's not it doesn't affect him it's not about him and i think that this moment was a really good reminder of this situation is is very messy and complicated and all of these people have personal relationships with each other of varying degrees

of closeness and length and importance and whatever and for kj this has a different angle than for Carl, then for Kyle, then for Lindsay. But that doesn't mean that it's a less weighty situation. And in the case of this, you know, kind of threat about racial dynamics, it's a very, it's a very loaded thing. And it's very heavy. And I thought it was nice to kind of be reminded of that. And, you know, Andy kind of, you know, brings up the conversation of.

about race and thanks them for sharing that and being so open. And Sierra is also kind of adding to the conversation saying that there are always racial dynamics at play in the house, in her friendships, in all the parts of her life. And that at this point in her life, she doesn't want to have friends who aren't down to talk about those things. And, you know, we're seeing like clips played back of West saying how much more she, more he sees Sierra than he did before. and, you know, Amanda being really there for Sierra in those moments.

And for Sierra to say that now watching the season back, she feels like West and Amanda were using sort of buzzwords and saying the right things to give her what she needed. And now she has to view that in a different light. It sucks. And I'm not going to spend much time talking about in the city this week because, like I said, it just doesn't feel real important right now. And I don't really have to be.

have the space to be worrying about, you know, Yvonne. But on this week's episode of In the City, episode three, we start with this scene with West, Amanda, and Sierra. It's West and Sierra's in the city debut. And they hang out. And the way that they're hanging out, it really feels for most of this. seen like West and Sierra are this couple. If not like boyfriend, girlfriend, like it's they're a pair and Amanda's there filling them in on what's going on with Kyle and her,

the, you know, active dissolution of her marriage and all of this. And it's, you know, it's just so, it's so crazy to see the, the juxtaposition of that happening in the fall. You know, they do are really, um, the edit, the way they, that they edit Amanda's Confessional on In the City, where she's talking about it in the fall in the confessional, and then it's like glitching, glitching, background, glitching, switching, and then it's Amanda in May. And they're like, so really, when you were filming this scene, there was no crush, no inkling, no, no thought of being with West.

And she's like, no, it's crazy. I know it sounds bizarre, but he was a friend. He was a friend. He was a friend. No, oh my God, it's so crazy, he was a friend. I'm like, I don't, I don't want to say I don't believe her, but like, it's a little tricky. It's a little sticky. It's a little tough.

But seeing, I mean, I'm not, I'm not quite ready to be like fully in the city with all of them. But seeing that scene paired with this, you know, conversation in the reunion, it's like, well, it is, this is real shitty. And of course, Amanda is going to say, you know, I meant everything I said over the summer and I got caught up in my feelings. And this has hurt me a lot for you, which is just like talking about. This has hurt me a lot for you. But you're the one holding the knife, twisting in the back. Twisting, twisting the knife. This has hurt me.

That is such a, that is such a manipulative sentence to say to someone when you are the one creating the situation. This has hurt me so much for you. It's like, first of all, Sierra doesn't want Amanda to hurt for her. Sierra wants Amanda to go away, to be anywhere else, to mind her own business. to leave her alone. And for, I think this is where, you know, like for much of the reunion, Amanda's not having a lot to say or not, you know, participating so actively. But when she does, the stuff that she's saying is just like, shut up.

This has hurt me so much for you. A lot for you. Uh-uh. None of that. Sierra, I mean, Sierra shuts it down. She says, you've literally been in the bed with me for the past six years. and this is where we're, I mean, that says it all. It says it all.

Amanda gets asked by Andy what makes her think that this situation is different from how West couldn't come into Sierra. And she's like, well, yeah, I mean, yeah, I mean, it's, yeah, we've, we've had those conversations privately. And, you know, that's why I'm, you know, that's why I'm sitting here with him now. And, you know, I felt, I did feel embarrassed to have to say that I had. feelings for him and and he was seeing someone else and Mia, Mia has not said a ton this reunion, but she pipes up. She goes, well, yeah, it's embarrassing. It's so good. It's just so, to say, I felt, it was embarrassing for me to have to, you know, I had to do it. I had to stand there and take those licks. I had to say that I had feelings for him, even though I knew that he was seeing

another woman. I mean, it goes, it's fucking embarrassing. And of course, Mia has also, you know, delivered the line, as Sturit would say, about going from being married to being one of West's side bitches. And Amanda, it is crazy because Amanda, like, she has to admit that she knows this. Because she says that she knew about Meeha. She says that it was embarrassing to say that she had feelings for him. She knows that he has this past, whatever. But after all that, at the end of the day, she admits all these things, but she's still doing it. She still chose this. She saw where all the pieces were on the chessboard and still said, yeah, let's do it.

And that's the, I mean, that's the real, having the feelings is not the issue. Wondering what it would be like is not the issue. I mean, it's not great. But like, it's, you know, the heart. As Selena Gomez and the scene once said, The Heart wants what it wants. That song came up on my shuffle the other day. It still slaps.

The bed's getting cold, but you're not here. Say what you want. I don't care. That is like, that's, you know that's Amanda's jam right now. She, if she's not listening to, like, the saddest music in the world, she's listening to The Heart Wants what it wants.

And she's going, Selina was right. it do. No, but like the heart can want what it wants. And then you say, but I have a brain. And I'm putting the phone down. You're on deal or no deal. The banker calls with an offer. You say no.

You slam the plastic case over the button. And you say, Howie, I want to pick a few more cases. Amanda could have gotten the million. And she took a deal for like $54,000. She said, oh, 54, I could get a new truck. I don't know why. Why am I in an episode of deal or no deal right now? What's, what is like the lowest offer that is like worth taking?

I'm so sorry, we got to get back. My sister's TV at her house, like the living room TV, it's like a, you know, it's a smart TV. We're in 2026, whatever. But it's like LG, whatever. And when you turn on the TV, every single time, the home screen of the TV is a channel that is 24-7 deal-or-no-deal episodes. And I have turned on that TV and sat and watched for hours before. I'm not ashamed to say. No, but Amanda needs to take a break.

Circling all the way back. Amanda needs to take a break. And she is leaving the stage. And who is not leaving the stage? wrestling. He sits there and, you know, Sierra's telling him if you roll in the fucking mud, you get dirty. You'll a little, you'll a pig, a little anchor. And Lindsay's yelling at West to be a fucking man. Kyle, Lindsay, Mia, they're all, I almost went after Amanda. That's how, that's how, that's how in the spin cycle. We almost went after. Wes, go the fuck after Amanda. And he's

sitting there looking like he is so paralyzed. of just like, what do I do? What's the right thing? He's always been, you know, calculated and stuff about wanting people to like him. And I think, you know, he's realizing that he's in a lose-lose situation. And that's tough for somebody who's a people-pleaser, a fame whore, you could say, a hoo-a. It feels good to say hoa. It's very Rhode Island.

But West finally goes, tells, and I love that West's piece of advice is like, okay, I know it's tough. And Amanda's crying. And he goes, you should cry on stage if you need to. Okay. I mean, like, sure. Would it be better if Amanda was like sobbing? I don't think it would be. I mean, it would be something.

But again, we're in a lose-lose situation here. There's no like, oh, you cried. You're so sorry. Okay. Kyle's telling Sierra to chill out Amanda for like just a few minutes. She's like, she's historically had low self-esteem. I didn't lie. She hates her so much. But they end up taking a break because Amanda's not coming back. And so, you know, Kyle is is backstage talking about this Miha thing. That's starting to pick up steam. and he's saying he talked to her and asked if he could share his notes with Sierra. So we're getting a little bit of foreshadowing

that the Maha stuff is going to come back into the conversation. Lindsay's like, Mia, how are my tits? And Mia just goes, fucking fabulous. Amen. And now coming out of the break, Dara joins the stage. And, you know, she's talking about KJ.

And then she has some words for West. And so West has come back to the stage. Amanda, nowhere to be found. And he says, oh, she's coming, she's coming. but so Darrow Wastes no time. She clocks the fuck in and she tells West

that she doesn't see him waking up one day and deciding to change for Amanda and that he treats the women he's with as expendable. And she comes out of the gate firing. She basically has a whole dissertation prepared about how West is a terrible person

and Amanda's no better and she really just speaks with the confidence that is really beautiful and savage. She finishes and West just goes I agree. I mean, you can't, you can't argue with that. But Amanda's still not coming out, so we move on.

You can tell Andy's in a way he's like reshuffling his cards. He's like, well, I guess I'll ask Ben about his relationship with his dad, because that's what everybody's waiting to hear about. Finally, thank God, Amanda comes back to the stage, rescues us from hearing about Ben and Sabrina. and I love Amanda comes out she sits back down she's been gone and okay so Andy I think on the radio said it was like 20 minutes that Amanda was gone which seems not that long considering that they then took a full break Lindsay commented on the post and goes no it had to be like an hour 20 minutes and an hour is a big is a big difference an hour is like a whole you're missing a whole you're missing a whole segment. You're missing a whole chunk. 20 minutes is like, oh, sorry, I went, it was number two, not number one. I'm so sorry. I needed a bathroom break and it was worse than I thought. No, but Amanda comes back out. And rather than just moving along, I love that we're like, oh, hey, Tara, that thing you said that was really nasty about West, but really, really accurate,

could you just say that one more time now that Amanda's back out here? And she's like, My pleasure. Wes' pattern is always being the West show, and his biggest concern is being well-liked, and it's not prioritizing, treating women with respect. And Amanda, don't you think that you've been living the Kyle show for such a long time and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Dara is the woman that she is,

the best supporting actress that she is. you know when like there's certain supporting actress performances at the Oscars where it's like they were kind of the lead of the movie but we're going to like finagle things to get them in the supporting category that's fine it is what it is but then every once in a while there is a performance where it's like this person is on screen for seven minutes but those seven minutes are dynamite you have your like it's like Viola Davis in doubt where it's like she's in one scene, two scenes, but the performance that she gives, that's Dara on the Summer House reunion. She, she shows up. She's asked one question. She repeats

herself one more time to Amanda. And it is devastating. It's so good. And she doesn't say much for the rest of the reunion, and that is okay. But she questions whether it's worth sacrificing for someone who will want her to mold and fold into his life. And just like the words, it's like jazz. It's like poetry. And Andy, Andy lands the plane. He says, it would be ironic, Amanda, for you to go from being in the Kyle show to the West

show after all those years. And Amanda, fresh off her 20-minute or hour-long break. She just goes, yeah. Go, girl, give us nothing. Period. Yeah. She knows. There's nothing to say.

I mean, that's the real crux of it, is there's nothing to say. We talk about Jesse Solomon's music, which, like, fight the good fight, brother. Do what you want to do. But again, you know, Ben gave his dad a hug. Jesse Solomon's going on tour. I'm happy for these men living their dreams. But we just got to keep it moving. We got to keep it moving.

Carl and Lindsay have a nice moment. Even that feels less important right now. Amanda's like, it really hurt that Carl and Lindsay were monetizing the scandal because people were hurt. I would have never done that to you. Okay. And they would have never done this to you. And Sierra, I love that, like, Amanda's the one that says it hurt.

And Sierra's like, please, you'd never monetize it, but you'd fuck your friend's ex. Like, that's, again, the crux of the problem. That's where we're at. We talk about the Carl Kyle stuff, the fight at the end of the thing. Kyle says that watching it back, he felt really bad about the, you know, soft bar or whatever. And Andy, I thought this was important. Andy asks West about in the, in the, in the, when the, things are escalating at that Lindsay's freedom dinner or whatever.

There's a moment where West moves his chair to sit next to Amanda. And he's like, what was that about? And West is like, I just wanted Manders to know that I had her back. And I just felt like it was important for her to know that. It's like, okay. Cute. Great. Nice.

That sounds good. and then West, the whole Cartier watch thing, West comparing Kyle to the Wolf of Wall Street, aging like rotten milk. It's not good. We talked more about the Kyle and Amanda of it all, back and forth about the DJing and having benders. And, you know, again, it's like, it feels a little bit neither here nor there now that,

now that what has happened, has, happened. But of course we have to point out that Amanda's now with somebody who goes out every night and Sierra's like

I thought you hate going out and Amanda never one to you know make a situation better is like no I don't hate going out I just hate it going out

with Kyle and this is when Kyle gets emotional and he's like give me a break West goes twice as hard as me and he says

this kid this kid goes twice as hard as me And I do, I say kid, because he's an immature, fraudulent, phony. Clip! And he's like, I've gone back and forth between being concerned for Amanda and betrayed. And that he, this is interesting. Because, of course, we're watching things play out on in the city, but he says they didn't technically split until the day they put out their statement, which was January.

And he says that when they. they decided to do it, she wanted to put out their statement within the hour, and he didn't get to tell his family first, which I am a little bit like, like your, like your mom and dad or like your great aunt. Like was like, people have different families, obviously, but like I have aunts and uncles who text me on my birthday, but like I haven't seen them in years. And, So, like, if I was getting divorced, I mean, it'd be nice for them to not find out from Instagram, but at the same time, I'm not going to, like, call them up and be like, hey, aunt, so-and-so, I know I haven't seen you since high school, but, like, I have some news.

I don't know. But Amanda, Amanda says, her nail in the coffin was New Year's Day. And that she waited, she knew she wanted out on New Year's Day. But she waited until the PR people were back in the office from the holidays. It's like, oh, this is, every part of this is just so romantic. When you, when you, when you have to wait to announce your separation until after corporate America is back from the holiday break, these, I mean, these two are doomed from the start. But it's, but we go to lunch break. I don't care to talk about Megan King Edmonds or Sally from Southern Charm.

it's like, who cares? But Amanda tells West at lunch that it's frustrating, that they're all making her feel stupid for trusting him. And it's like, again, see stupid, call stupid. I mean, like, she's like, has the, she's the, like, social IQ right now of, like, a minion. Like, Amanda, come on. But this is where things are really starting to heat up. And I'm very excited to see what turn this takes in part three.

because at lunch, Sierra facetimes Meeha. She has a hot new bombshell has entered the virtual villa of the Summerhouse reunion. And Sierra is telling her that it doesn't seem like West and Amanda even really like each other that much and that West isn't defending her at all. And Kyle pops in on the FaceTime and asks Mia whether it was clearly defined when she and West were exclusive. And she says yes and says that he called her his girlfriend the whole time they were filming in 2025 and that he told her that he would get fired from the show if he went public

dating somebody that wasn't in the Bravo sphere. What are we doing here? If this is actually, if Mihaw's telling the truth, which like never met the girl, but like would trust her with my life. That is the craziest line to feed someone because it's just so patently not true. We have had people on Summerhouse on many Bravo shows whose significant others can't even be named or we can't show of an Instagram photo of them. People who don't come on for a weekend, people who don't come on for a facetime call. Mejah's FaceTiming into the reunion.

If you had said, this is my girlfriend. She's not going to be cast on the show, but like she's in my life. Who cares? That in and of itself would be another storyline to explore of how is Sierra going to navigate West being in a relationship outside of the house? How is West going to navigate that? What is that going to affect? Give me a break. And it speaks to, like, West seems to really have, like, orchestrated this whole multiverse of madness where he's, like, he's got all the plates spinning and all the timelines.

And it's like, okay, so you have a girlfriend who is, like, locked in the cupboard under the stairs that we're not going to hear about or we're not supposed to know about her. You're going to have a situation ship going on for a third year with Sierra that's going to last all summer and into the fall, even though they only slept over once or twice. You're doing ear stuff in the backyard. And then you're going to have this third situation with Amanda that you're discovering in the moment, figuring out, feeling out, finding out, finding out how you feel. Just, you know, having conversations. And then God knows how many other, you know, side bitches, side, side, side women, side things are happening. It really is,

I mean, Amanda, like, it's not great. But West really seems to have like engineered this whole set up where he gets to do whatever he wants in like six different directions. And right now is the moment where it's all coming together. And I don't think he has the wherewithal to like figure this out. I'm sure, I mean, he will be fine because shitty men are always fine in some way, shape or form. But it's just like, dude, you are not good enough to be doing all of this. It's not, it's not, it's not landing. Well, we've got one more part.

Let's move to the sunny shores of Rhode Island and Boston, because we're at Capo for Rich's Sinatra Sundays. Alicia Liz, Joe Allen, they have arrived after the car ride from hell, and man, This is a tough episode, a tough episode for Liz. Because up until now, you know, all of the women in this cast have shown some different sides and some different layers. And as I would hope, any cast would, especially in a first season.

It's been a great mix of vibes and flavors and tones and attitudes and volumes. and we have gotten, you know, earlier in the season, some glimpses, and we've certainly been told about maybe dark side to Liz. But going from the end of last week's episode into this week's episode, and really throughout the duration of this week's episode, Liz is in a place that just feels nasty. And it's, I mean, it's, it's engaging to watch on television. But it does feel like, oh, this is, it's like when you're, when you have like a, like a candy mix,

like if you go to like bonbon or like, you know, one of the like Swedish. candy places and you're just like I'm like oh like what's this one what's this one and it's like oh this one's like kiwi yum this one's you know green apple sour and then there's like a bitter black licorish and it's just like oh i didn't i wasn't mentally prepared for that it's like salty and like oh oh you just like Liz in this episode is that black licorice taste that just is really confusing. Because, you know, they get out of the car. Alicia is crying.

I mean, tears streaming down her face and, like, don't, don't treat our Alicia like that. She loves a pig. She loves a fig. She loves trivia. She loves a doll. She loves a horse. She loves a cracker. Don't, don't make her cry.

That is pizza mama. You treat her with respect. But, I mean, she's just so upset. and Liz is like almost she's like hyped up on making Alicia upset and that

but more than Alicia she's real pissed off at Joe Ellen and she's you know Joe Ellen is saying she's worried and and you know she wants to make things better and Liz is like making fun of her for that

Jo Ellen says she's trying to be trying to be there for this she's like i don't need you to be there for me i don't need it and so they they have their you know first kind of moment outside they go sit down ashley shows up it's super awkward and then liz leaves in the middle of performance she's like i got to have a cigarette and joellen follows her and of course like jo ellen i think knows a moment when she sees it she is she's been working her tail off this season and i thank her for her service so you know should joelan have stayed at the table? Perhaps. Perhaps. But she didn't. And there were cameras. And so, you know, Joellen goes outside with Liz. And Liz is, like, yelling at Joellen for acting like she cares.

And she's like, I apologize 12 times. What do you want for me? And she's like, get the fuck out of my face. Get the fuck out of my face. And the way, it's not even necessarily what? Liz is saying to Joellen, it's the delivery that is just like really, really, really mean and angry. She said, get the fuck out of my face like three times in a row. Joellen storms after her and says she's trying to be there for her. She's one of her best friends. And that is another thing throughout the episode. Multiple times, Joellen is throwing out there that she's one of her best friends.

she's a best friend to her, their best friends. How could she treat her like this? How could she do this? And Liz does not want it. Liz says Joellen is not my best friend. Joellen calls Liz a nasty human. Liz is like pushing her chair.

She's like kind of like pulling at her hair a little bit. And finally Joellen ends up leaving. And she she like fully leaves the event. And Liz kind of has this like creepy smile on her face. Like she's really like satisfied with herself how she has ruined Joe Ellen's day. And it's just, it's just awkward. It's just weird. It's not a good vibe.

So we move on. Alicia has a thing for her daughter's dance competition. This isn't important, but I love Alicia. Alicia doesn't remember the name of the title that her daughter has won. She goes, she won the national, the what, the what, the mistitle? It's like, yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure the name of the dance competition is mistitle. Sure.

She makes me laugh. But so throughout the rest of the episode, we're basically getting a series of updates about this Liz, Alicia, Joe Ellen situation that has brewed. and it starts with Liz and Kelsey going over to Dolores's place. We get a hello, Dolly Wally. It still brings me joy, even if Liz is kind of freaking me out right now. And so Kelsey reads this text from Joellen, which is like pretty innocuous, just saying that she was trying to calm everyone down in the car. And Liz is like so not having it.

She's like, I'm offended that Joellen was trying to play the role of the mediator. And Kelsey says that Joellen's trying to stir the, the pot and make it worse. And Joellen does have, Liz does have a good impression of Joellen, I got to say. But Kelsey's bringing up that Liz has trust issues. And right now she doesn't trust Joellen. And Liz says people call her scary, but Joellen is capable of anything. And that is something that Liz repeats later in the episode that she calls Joellen the devil to her face. And I'm like, we just have not seen evidence of Jo Ellen doing anything to this level that Liz is hinting at. And so it really, it really makes me curious.

And I don't know if we'll get more about this at the reunion or by the end of the season. But it's like, okay, so so far this season, Joe Ellen has maybe been a bit, a bit messy. about Kelsey's relationship. She has certainly been active in the Rula mistress situation, whether you know, whether you think it's justified or not. She's made some messy moves. She hasn't always been the, you know,

perfect, you know, angel star student. But like the devil capable of anything. Like, what, what do you mean? what are you saying? What are you saying? What is what are you saying? What is the, what's the meaning of this? And I would really like to know, you know, we get, we get the scene of them at the end of the episode where they sit down. Both of them, of course, are hopeful for apologies from the other and, but know that they're not going to get them.

A great way to start any conversation. I'm owed an apology that she won't give to me. but Liz again says that she took offense to the way Joellen was trying to be the mediator on the guy ride and Joellen's like I'm here to make it better and Liz is like you don't make anything better I'm like why did you agree to meet with her it's it's raining it's storming Liz tells her that they've never been best friends so she should stop saying it and Jo Ellen's bringing up her pulling the hair and kicking her chair at coppo and that's when Liz calls her the devil. It's just like this, this is really escalated. And it feels like Liz has

really escalated this. And to me, I mean, I don't, I don't like her vibe in this episode either way. But if she is going to be portraying Joellen as this supervillian, there has to be some they're there. And I don't think that Joellen's sort of changing her tune and at first, you know, she's saying that Alicia wasn't homeless and then she's saying that her feelings are valid. Like, okay, that's like a little flip-flop, a little annoying, whatever. That happens on every show. That is not, you're the devil, you're capable of anything, you never make anything better. What are we talking about? And like, tell me quick, because Liz, right now you're losing me. I don't know if they're like, I don't know if it's the weed gummies that went to her head.

I don't know. I also, I do love literally in my notes. I was like, um, Rula's one scene of the episode is meeting up with Liz by the water. And did we see Rula for another scene in the episode? We certainly did not. She's on that one scene a week contract. Gotta love it. Um, man. Rhode Island, man, I'm going to be sad when this show is over. They're feeding us week after week. And speaking of our other Housewives franchise right now, Atlanta, they

are delivering. Delivering. I mentioned last week's episode up top where we saw Porsche juggling her two love interests, her man and her woman. And that is to me

the last few episodes of Atlanta starting with the Dallas trip and and continuing after have been really just like great housewives. Great, great TV, really enjoyable, so multifaceted because you have this whole conundrum going on with what Kay Michelle has brought to the table about people plotting on her and Portia and Drew specifically. And that has been really like a core of like sort of a mess and scandal and drama. but then you have, you know, matriarch Cynthia Bailey.

And the way, you know, this episode, this week's episode that she's sitting down with Pinky and Angela to be filled in on Fadra's, Fadra's Reiki Healing Event where the women are laying on air mattresses in the pool while Fadra's playing some fuck-ass flute. Shamiya's air mattress is like losing air while she's in the water in the bikini. Shamia will do anything to be in a bikini this season. She's like, pool party? Air mattress, Reiki Healer?

I'm there. Can I wear a thong? But Cynthia's like getting the download. And she's like, okay, Pinky, Angela, you two have an assignment. Cynthia giving the girls what they need to work on is just so good. It's setting us up for so much success because she's like, Angela, you have this issue with Shemia. You need to meet with Shemia. You need to talk it through.

And what does Angela do? She follows Mother Cynthia's instructions. Well, she doesn't make the issues all better. But she sets up the thing. She's like, if I have to, if I have to reach out to Shemina, I mean, Shemesi, I mean, damn. I mean, I mean, Shem, I mean, Shem, Angela also doing a great job. But, like, Cynthia playing that role, Fadra has been a little more active. the last couple weeks, which I have appreciated.

Also sort of in like a house mother kind of role. You know, she's meeting with Kelly and talking about this relationship with, you know, Portia and Fadra's kind of urging Kelly to work on that. And then we have Drew Sidora. One of my favorite scenes of the episode, and there's a lot going on, is this scene with Drew Sedora and her new manager. meeting with team Drew, which is about between 10 and 20 of the messiest gay men you've ever seen in your life, who are just at each other's throats, 24-7. It's like, Drew's like, well, I'm a manager,

I have my agent, I have my publicist, I have my stylist, I have my hair girl, I have my makeup girl, I have my personal assistant, I have my, so there's the business team, and then there's the personal team so I have my business manager I have my my you know chef whatever Drew Drew Drew Drew what are we doing true who are these people Drew where is the money coming from Drew what are we doing true girl the divorce the the the tag Ralph is still in the basement who is paying for this there have been I mean I don't I don't usually get super bogged down in like the financial filings with like the divorces and stuff, but like, Drew, where, where is the income for

all these people? You're, you're paying a whole basketball team to, to sit there and bicker about the lace lifting on your wig and who got fired from the team more times and got brought back. I, okay, this is the kind of scene where it should. should be so annoying. This should feel like five minutes of wasted space in the middle of the episode. But somehow this mess of a team is captivating. And I don't know what it is. I have always appreciated it since if you've been a mention at all listener for a long time,

I think, you know, I have been a fan of Drew's chaotic delusional energy pretty much from the jump. And she hasn't always been a power player of a housewife. Like, she hasn't always been really carrying her weight. But I've always kind of appreciated this side of her. And it feels like this season she has been able to really. perfectly balance the side that is a little bit delusional, Drew, I'm a, I'm a singer, actress, businesswoman, mogul, I have a team, I have a, a lot going on, and being a real great participant housewife. And this scene, I just couldn't get enough. This disaster of a team.

and I'm like, you know what? I would watch that show. And it almost had that energy of like the production being like, hmm, let's put these people in a room and give them a little time on camera and see how that feels. And maybe this will be something.

Maybe it won't. Maybe we'll just get one of these check-ins every few episodes. I am down. Vanderpump drools. Drew, Drew, Drew's. It was working for me. Team Drew, I'd like to know more.

But then, okay, this is a great episode. I'm having a great time. It's working for me. We get this kind of double date with Portia and Kay Michelle and Pinky and Cynthia, where Portia and Kay make a, like, I would say a very tentative treaty. Pinky and Cynthia in the role of mediators. that's really great, even though it certainly won't last. But then the scene at the end of the episode,

where Angela meets up with Shemina, Shemesi, sorry, and they are going at each other right away. Their butts are hitting seats, words are being thrown. And it's great. It's a good scene. You know, Shemia hasn't had a flawless season. This is, she's making an effort. I appreciate it.

Angela, again, similar to the way she kind of bodied pinky at the Dallas dinner. Angela, I would say, has the upper hand here in the word smith department. She says that Shamiya is trying to be like candy and doesn't have her own identity, which like, damn, candy catching strays. Shamiah's like, you don't even know candy. Angela and candy were never even on this show together. But Angela Oakley has done her homework. She knows the tea. and she says that Chimia is a lap dog in lipstick.

And then Angela, at the end of the day, you know, they're fighting. Shemia's walking out. And Angela just goes, I came here to eat. I'm mad I didn't get to try the kebab. And I love her, I love her balance of like the sharp. digs, the being really like nasty for a quick second, and then laughing it off and just like being so effortlessly funny and and savage and shady and and just quick with it. She's so quick.

Angela is having an awesome second season. Really, really good stuff. This show is great right now. She goes, you want to, you got a hit first. But then the piece of resistance, to end the episode, as these women are leaving this ill-fated sit-down, we get sidewalk confessions. Oh, real time on the street, we are hearing from the ladies as it's happening. It's nighttime. The lighting is gorgeous.

I mean, they both look great. And we are getting real-time Shamiya and Angela. yapping to the camera about each other. And it is so exhilarating. They, they have, I really feel like this season of Atlanta, obviously the women are working really hard and I, and I appreciate it. But the production and editing really feels like it has an extra kind of like

pep in its step. Like they are they're really feeling themselves creatively. They're making choices that the way they're pulling together the story threads. It feels like there's a lot going on. But at the same time where we're still having time for for Team Drew arguing about the lace on the wigs.

We're still getting Portia holding court with her lady love and having her new man bring a giant fucking snake to her house while her baby daddy's around the corner. We are getting all of the different flavor notes of Atlanta in a way that is just so satisfying. And I'm so glad we're only maybe halfway through this season because I'm having such a good time with it. I'm just having fun.

And I mean, you know, the Summer House reunion, it's, it's entertaining. but Atlanta is just fun. Oh, and I love it. That's where we're going to leave off for today. So much to get into. I'm glad to be back. I'm a little scared to be back. That Love Island schedule is no joke,
