Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope.
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.
Betch's media presents.
Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All.
A Bravo by Betcha's podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With Dylan Hafer.
Who don't check me, bro?
And Barry Rosenfeld.
I need to start drinking alcohol.
Now go to sleep week.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention It All podcast.
I am Dylan Hafer.
And I'm Barry Rosenfeld.
And it is.
Drum roll, please.
Podcast Friday.
I was like it should be real Friday.
I'm not going to lie.
Like, let's just, let's just call it a day early.
Are you done for that?
Yeah, because I'm off tomorrow and I'm, I, it is Friday for me.
Damn it.
I need a fucking day off.
Yes.
I cannot believe.
I am like the stupidest person on the planet.
Like I moved, yes.
No, I moved yesterday and did not take a day off.
And like, the, like, it was just, I'm like sitting in my apartment, my old apartment, like,
while the movers were like packing everything up and like on my phone trying slash pretending to work.
And it's like, Dylan, I'm not going to lie when I moved into my apartment, like not even a year ago,
I didn't take off that day either.
I was like, wait, in what world?
Was I like, oh, it'll just take like an hour.
I'm fine.
Yeah.
I did the same thing.
Like I actually still.
I mean, I got everything I needed to get done, done yesterday.
But it was just the kind of thing where I'm like, why did I do?
this to myself.
Like, I should have loved myself a little more and just, taking like a week.
I'm always at the end of every year, no matter like my old jobs, this job, find myself with all
of my vacation days.
As if I save them, as if I am planning on going on like a two week vacation.
I'm like, Barry, you're not.
Just take your days as you need them.
Everyone, this is a PSA to everyone.
take your vacation days.
That's why you have them.
I need to start doing the thing.
Like I did this last year kind of and I still didn't use all of them.
But like I need to just start taking like a four day weekend like every two or three weeks.
Yes.
Just for myself.
You know, if I want to go somewhere I can, I'm going to New Orleans in a few weeks.
I'm excited for that.
But you know, like just just give yourself the time.
I love laying in bed.
It's one of my favorite pastimes.
Okay.
I love getting a mess.
Madicure or Petticure too.
Maybe I'll take a four-day weekend and take a trip to Dallas because we won't be seeing it on our TV screens.
Guys, be real.
Do we have to work on our segways or no?
Because I don't think so.
Okay.
So here is the tea, as I'm sure you probably know by now, if you're listening, Real Hostess of Dallas is officially not coming back anytime in 2022.
and Bravo said that they don't have any plans for after that.
So essentially that means the show's canceled.
Like, I, it's funny to me because it's,
Bravo is different than like your, you know, like NBC or CBS where they'll just like
cancel their show and announce it.
But like, if a show on Bravo is not coming back for two full years,
it's.
Oh, yeah, it's 2021.
It's a, well, because their first, their most recent season premiered, like January 4th or something of 2021.
So, like, if they're not doing a season in 2022, unless, you know, like, it's just not coming back.
And like the cast members have been posting, you know, basically like thanking their fans for their support, like all this stuff.
I, I want to know how you're feeling about it because I have mixed feelings, even though I think the show needed a lot of work.
I have a question.
Well, I'll tell you my feelings, but I have one question.
I after, because you just said all the cast members are like posting their, you know, thank you.
Why did Leanne say, think these were the best two days of my life?
Like, what did that mean?
I think she just meant that she got to share her wedding because it was a picture from her wedding.
So I think.
Oh, okay.
I think that's, it was weird.
It was a little weird.
Also, I like posted on Bravo by Betches.
I posted like a meme about Leanne's curse working because.
the show got canceled.
And she,
she responded to it.
And I was,
I DM'd her.
I was like,
oh,
like, hope you're doing well,
whatever.
And she was like,
I am,
my husband starts filming his own show this week.
No.
Thank you.
What is this going to be?
Rich with the iPatch
filming a show,
like,
what is this?
So I,
you know that if a show on Bravo,
a housewife,
not a show,
not because it's not a spin-off.
If a housewife franchise is
canceled. That's not good. Like you, you ruined it. Like, you fucked it up. But I agree. This show
needed a lot of work. They're already questioning what to do with New York. Although New York has been
around that much longer and it's like an OG cast, whatever, it's there. They have to reevaluate
the people that they cast on these shows. And they have to really, really think about it.
They tried fixing Dallas, but not in the best way. They didn't take the time to do it. They just like
added like a new person each season like that's not you have to like I almost feel like with
these things you have to do a um like a focus group almost yeah and like they literally do they
do these surveys I think it's called viewers voice there's like a thing you can sign up for yeah
and they will like send out surveys I know people who have done like they did a really long one
about Vanderpump rules a couple years ago I used to like do that the the viewers toy I used to like
get those emails
through those surveys. I never got anything from it. So I stopped. But I think it's, I do think it's
interesting. So there was a report that they had filmed some test footage for a possible
season six with Tiffany, Deandra, and a few new women. There were, there had been a lot of rumors
about who was going to be new in the cast. And so that was from when they had done the test
footage. And then they decided not to move forward after that, which I'm like,
curious if they if they're just like wasn't drama or they weren't feeling it but I also have a
feeling that bravo was not super excited about Dallas in general you know it's never been one of
the higher rated shows um I had heard some whispers that even before last season it was a little
bit on the fence and then when the pandemic was happening and they were like kind of running out of
content they were like yeah we'll just do Dallas not even you hear people like our friends
and whatever, they're like, oh, yeah, I don't watch Dallas.
And, like, you know, we, because we're Bravo, like, fanatics, I would say, are always like, no, you got to do it.
You got to watch it.
Just give it a try.
But, like, you, if it's not interesting, no one's going to watch it.
So it's unfortunate.
I mean, I'm assuming Bravo has something in their back pocket.
They'll come out with another franchise.
They'll do something.
So I'm not, I feel like we're not down to show.
Like, it's, I, yeah.
I also think, you know, we're getting Miami back on Peacock.
I'm assuming that's going to be like,
end of this year, early next year.
So that's exciting.
Salt Lake is coming back.
I feel like I almost feel like Dallas might have had an easier time if Salt Lake wasn't
so good.
Because I feel like when you have a brand new show coming in and it's, you know,
really different and exciting and people are talking about it, it's like, oh, okay,
like maybe we don't need all these other shows.
Yeah.
Just because they've been there for five years.
I think it was also, as like I've always said in the past,
it's nice to see different parts of the country, for real.
Like, it's nice to see out like other parts of like the country,
even still like, whatever.
But I feel like a lot of people don't connect with the women from Dallas.
They really don't.
And not in a good way.
It's always been a little bit of a strange.
I hear people, like, I don't know that much about Dallas,
but I've heard people say like, like, they did Housewives of Dallas and like this is
who they cast.
You know, like it's not necessarily.
super representative or like necessarily what people wanted to see.
But whatever.
I do hope we can find something for Tiffany and DeAndra to do because I will miss them.
Oh my God.
That would be cool.
I hope it's just not a podcast, but I hope it's like a show because, you know, I don't know,
like podcasts because I wasn't going to say because we are,
we are literally talking on our podcast right now.
But no, it's different.
Yeah, it's different.
But it's, yeah, like me watch, like a housewife being on reality TV and a housewife like
doing a podcast every week.
is not the same enjoyment factor
because I'm not going to listen to the podcast.
Right.
But you know what we are going to do?
It's talk about Beverly Hills.
Again, with the segways.
Damn.
So what we're not going to do
is not talk about Beverly Hills.
Oh, my goodness.

This was a good episode. You know what was crazy about this episode that I realized as I was
like putting our outline together is that aside from Garcell's like family Christmas dinner,
which was really nice, this whole episode.
episode was just two scenes basically. And we usually are not fans of that. We are usually not.
Right. But let me tell you, this was a gripping hour of television. I was on the edge of my seat.
I think it's so interesting to see how much is happening and how quickly, you know,
allegiances are forming and changing and people are really. I mean,
mean, this is like tough stuff that they're all coming to terms with. And we see especially from
Doreet in this episode from, you know, one day at Sutton's thing to the next day at Kyle's thing,
she's like done a full 180. Like these women are really, whether you agree with their positions or
not, they're like, I feel like there's a lot of uncertainty of like, how are we supposed to deal
with this? Yeah. Yes. I agree. And it's crazy because we also saw.
a 180 from Sutton as well because she was very strong in her stances and like did her research,
had notes, had this, had that, like explaining everything, saying she would say what she's saying
now to Erica.
And then we saw a little bit of a halt because she didn't have people backing her up.
But if you have your own feelings, you should be, you should be willing to see them because
you were very assured about yourself like at your meeting that you were hosting.
but hosting at Derreet's house.
Hosting at Reets,
but not as much like when Erica was in front of you.
And to be honest,
we obviously have a lot to talk about this episode,
but in the coming weeks,
we see them go head to head even more
because something kind of dug herself a little bit.
And also, wait, in the preview,
Garcel cursing out Derreet,
like my hairs,
the hairs on my arm is standing on end.
I was laughing.
I watched it last night,
but I couldn't really hear it.
I wasn't really, you know, focusing.
So I watched it again this morning.
this morning and I was laughing.
I was like Garcel sitting there and being silence,
not talking at the meeting or at Kyle's house because she knew to like keep her opinions
to herself yet calling out to every single person who went against what they said the night
before.
I was like, go Garcel.
Right.
When Garcel says to, oh, well, like, that's not really what you said the other day.
And she did.
She's like, she's like, I'm not going to snitch on what you said the other.
other day. I'm just going to point out that right now your tone seems a little different.
Oh, it was awesome. And she didn't say, listen, I would have been Garcel. I think I would have sat there
and just not said really anything because you don't know. Rina was like, I honestly, Renna was having
her friends back. She kept saying innocent until proven guilty. We don't know. Right now, I have no reason
but to not, um, not believe Erica. And all the other women were like, same, but we have this, we have this, we have this. We have this.
but you don't know.
It is hard.
Listen, it's hard.
I don't.
I don't know.
I definitely.
I definitely agree because I,
while I don't necessarily agree with Lisa in this situation as a whole.
Right.
I understand.
I understand why her instinct in the situation is like, well, I mean, I don't think, I believe Erica because she's my friend.
And so I'm going to stand by her.
Right.
I think it's interesting in the situation because whatever your personal feelings are about Erica and whatever you think or believe or, you know, think you know, I think it's, you can sort of justify everyone's different reactions because it's such a crazy situation.
And they all are clearly, you know, really struggling to know how to move forward with her.
And that's, I, I actually appreciated and I really understood when Erica showed up to Kyle's Christmas party and Garcel clearly felt so uncomfortable just like didn't really feel like going through the motions of being like, hey girl, have a hug, like whatever.
Like I understood what she was feeling in that moment because it's like, I mean, last time I saw.
you, you were like laying into me for something that I didn't even know I did wrong.
And so it's like, I appreciate that Garcel isn't just like doing what she feels like she is like
kind of supposed to do as a friend.
But I think Garcel is doing it because of her own feeling.
She's not like soldiering up with with Sutton, you know?
Like I think she just has her own thoughts.
But so at this meeting where we left off, Sutton was going on and on and on and on about how she,
she cares more about her reputation, which, okay, whatever.
But then when she started going off and the fact that she didn't want to be in the papers
regarding to this because she's on the boards of museums and ballets.
And Ruth Madoff has zero friends.
I was like,
Ruth Madoff has zero friends.
Oh my God.
I was like,
you sound like you are on the highest force I've ever seen in my entire life.
Like I just,
yeah.
Maybe it's because her and Erica weren't as close in general, but I don't know.
I thought the things she, listen, she's not my cup of tea in general, but that I get it because
you should protect yourself, but it's just her reasonings were not for me.
I do, yeah, I do wonder like when she's talking about being in the press surrounding this situation,
I do with it.
Well, I mean, they're on a TV show together.
So it would be normal, even if there was no legal stuff happening for people to associate you.
Yes.
But anybody who has any understanding of the situation,
I don't see how you would,
how you would think there was any connection other than,
oh,
they're on a TV show together.
Like,
you're already going to be associated with her
because you're on the cast of the same show.
Right.
But, like, it is,
I really appreciate Sutton's,
like,
willingness to ask questions and her curiosity
because I think she's,
she's producing a lot of really good moments.
for the show for us as viewers
but I do think it's like a little
funny that she's like
so concerned about her reputation
and whatever because it's like
I don't really think you're in danger
of being like
not at all
nobody thinks you're like a co-conspirator
with Tom
and when like Derreet was showing
sharing how she felt and she
and she agreed with Sutton and Sutton was like
high five I was like I don't like that
like that I didn't like she was just rubbing me
me the wrong she was going about it
in a way that like I didn't like.
I don't know.
It was like, all right, fine.
You don't have to support her.
You don't have to be friends with her.
But don't try to like make, now you're in all their heads and whatever.
But she got legal advice, obviously.
Kyle said she didn't get legal advice, but she spoke to Faye's husband who's a lawyer to break down the article.
Because again, she said it was too long when you could have to.
She could not read the whole article.
I have to point out because I saw this this morning.
And I thought it was so funny.
So first of all, the LA Times promoted this reposted this article on Twitter like four
times yesterday.
But they said in this tweet, be like Sutton's track and read the whole article along
with our conversation with Erica Girardi.
Like it's the fact that the LA Times is like clearly paying attention to what's happening
on the show and like referencing it to promote their article.
It's so funny.
It's like, Kyle, it's not that.
I I I she just shouldn't have someone breaking it down for her makes total sense like getting like
the legal getting the legal analysis is good but don't be like I couldn't read it so he had to right and
and then caught and then jury like spoke to so like they were they were just seeing what like the
situation is because like us almost we were like we don't know how bad this actually is however they're
they're friends with Erica so they obviously want to know a little more than like we do about it but
I thought it took a lot of guts for Erica to even go to Kyle's house.
And it was uncomfortable for her.
Imagine walking in and like all of your friends.
Every event,
we even said this in the past,
every event they go to is just them questioning her.
Like it's a lot.
They just want to eat their ham.
I'm trying to think if there's been another situation on Housewives where something
sort of where one issue took up as much air in the room.
Because I feel like...
The only thing I can think about is a few episodes when they just like constantly talked about
Jen Shah's behavior and like asked her that.
And then they went to like the woman's house, Kim.
Oh, the Vegas.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's the only thing.
But Teresa, maybe Teresa.
I have a feeling this season of Salt Lake City is going to bring up some of those,
uh, similar moments.
But yeah, I don't know.
It, it is kind of like, I'm obviously like super intrigued at what's happening.
Like I want, I love.
seeing kind of everyone's take on it and the way they're all handling it. But you do
kind of wonder, it's like, at the end of the day, like, is that the whole rest of the
season? Because, like, I'm not, I'm not, it's not that I don't want that. Like, I am, I'm having a
really good time. But at the end of the day, it's like, every, it's going to be interesting,
like, thinking about, like, the reunion. If they feel,
film the reunion and everything else that happened in the season feels so inconsequential
compared to this Erica stuff.
Like, I don't know how you would really have a three-part reunion.
Right.
They're not going to bring up Sutton and Crystal's bullshit when this happened.
Right.
I mean, like, like, Andy probably will because like he'll, he'll have to.
But it's going to, yeah, like, are we going to really have to sit through like two hours of
reunion talking about when like
Dury and Kyle had their little Tiff coming back from Tahoe when it's like
okay, let's talk about Erica.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I think they'll do a good job with it, but I'm kind of, I feel like everything
else in the season now, even though I enjoyed it at the time just feels like filler
compared to what we're going through now.
And it's like hard to imagine going backwards at the reunion.
So like also the one of the main things that they all kind of agree on is this three-year situation with Tom.
And they all think that is a little sketchy if I should say that.
It's doesn't make sense.
It's not adding up.
I think we I think we talked about this.
It was like when Erica was talking to Crystal and Garcell like on that, you know, on the hike.
And she was talking about how he started making questionable.
decisions after this accident three years ago.
Even at the time, it was like, there are lawsuits way before three years and like specifically
this, like the case with like the burn victims and stuff was like 10 years ago, I think,
is the one.
And so I feel like it's good to have that one baseline thing that everybody can sort of agree on
because it's like Erica just told them that story.
two weeks ago or something.
I don't know how long they've been back from Laquinta.
But even if you're saying, I'm going to stand by my friend, this and that, I still have some questions.
Like, I feel like that is a good kind of baseline that it's like for people like Kyle and Derreet and Rina, they should be able to say, I'm standing by Erica, but I still want to know what's up.
And so I hope that, I hope that, like, Rina doesn't just, like, steamroll any, like, questioning because I think that's worth, like, getting to the bottom of, even though I think it's, like, a little funny that Sutton thinks she's going to ask, like, did you talk to your lawyers about this? And it's like, you can't even ask that in court. Like, I do like the, well, first of all, Teddy is, Teddy is there. Hello. Welcome. Yeah, hi, Teddy. Welcome. We forgot she was even in this episode. No. She is. She is.
at this dinner.
And I have a fly buzzing around in my apartment right now, too.
Like, that's kind of the same.
But to me, Garcel was the star of this episode because she, we finally got Erica to mention
the, she's, she's like fully aware that the victims are coming first.
She was like, yes, like they, I don't know where the money is at their own.
But Garcell actually said a story where her sister was in a situation,
him where she's owed money so she knows like what the victims are going through and so she said
if tom is in fact guilty then like fuck him if you know like and she was like my sister is owed money
from her lawyer like it's it's yeah fucked up and it's it was really interesting to hear that and to
know that garcel has more of a personal connection to the other side not with tom and erika but with
the actual, you know, problem that is at the center of it. And I think it's interesting because,
you know, all of these women have varying levels of relationships with Tom and Erica. And so that's a
whole, you know, that's a personal connection. But to hear Garcel talk about why it's personal
for her in a totally different way, I thought was really interesting. And it's funny that,
you know, when she says, like, the victims are most important, right? Everybody at the table is like,
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, of course, of course, of course.
And it's like, okay, well, like, we didn't really say that until now.
So, yeah.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I felt that Erica kept her composure as much as she could where she felt like she was
on like a witness stand almost, like all the women like were asking questions.
But Kyle was like, this dinner is so fucking awkward.
I need dessert now.
Also, when she and Erica were in the kitchen and she's like, it's going to be okay.
going to be okay and then she walks away and just goes awkward spice when when suttin pulled
deri to the side and was like do you think you pull like threw me under the bus a little bit
their conversation durit was like no i don't and then eric i was like i'm heading out
they were like oh bye and sutton was like i have a gift for you eric i was like what the hell
is happening right now she's like from one georgia girl to another i was like what is happening
That was a strange moment.
I was like, you're giving her a gift of all the people?
Also, what was it?
I want to know what it was.
Like, hello.
Right.
Was it like a peach or like a...
A broach?
Was it a brooch?
I don't know.
A brooch.
Oh my God.
What if it was like a potted plant?
But in the pot there was like a bugged microphone.
I need to know what it was because I find it very strange or timing-wise that she gave Erica a gift.
at this dinner. I bet that's what it was. I bet Sutton wants to listen into her conversation,
so she's going to bug her house. I bet it's like when you get like a teddy bear and like there's a
camera in the eyes. Well, two plus two does equal four. And I'm not even good at math.
Should that be our new sign? Thanks for listening. Until next time, two plus two equals four.
And I'm not even good at math. Oh, that's so good. I can't. I'm kind of into it.
Well, I feel like that is...
I feel like that is not a bad place to leave it.
Obviously, we have a lot of lingering questions and feelings about what's going on on Beverly Hills.
And we will be sure to revisit next week.
I can't wait.
I can't wait to see Garcel versus Derreet.
I feel like that's going to be a doozy.
I mean, it seems like from what we see that Garcell's in the right.
But...
Yeah, we'll see.
We'll see, we'll see. Who knows what's right?
Who's to say?
Anyone.
Everyone, have a great weekend.
Have a great weekend.
Thanks so much for listening.
Don't forget to rate, review, follow the show, wherever you listen.
