Mention It All - Are Mothers Off Limits? RHOA, RHOC, In The City, Next Gen NYC & News On The RHONY Spinoff

Episode Date: July 17, 2026

The air is smoky, the lettuce is parasitic, but at least the Bravo news is plentiful. Dylan is back for another Friday episode, and he kicks things off with casting news about Special Forces: World’...s Toughest Test, plus some updates on The Golden Life, which is apparently still filming. Then, he braces himself for a very chaotic episode of RHOA, which sees Porsha and Shamea’s feud escalating in Edinburgh, and Pinky finally becoming a more well-rounded part of the group. Then it’s over to RHOC, where Tamra is still trying to figure out who likes her, and Emily Simpson is 50 and hotter than ever. From there, Dylan has some thoughts on the season finale of In The City (Whitney, you’re in danger girl!) and Next Gen NYC (Riley, you’re also in danger girl!). Starting point is 00:00:00 The Hulu original series Furious is coming to Disney Plus, starring Emmy Rossum. Furious follows FBI agent Alice Black on the hunt for a mysterious and calculating serial killer. Both walk their own paths toward justice, and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur. Don't miss the three-episode premiere of the Hulu original series Furious on July 27th, only on Hulu on Disney Plus. everyone, welcome back to the Mentioned at All podcast and another Friday episode. This has been, it's kind of felt like a busy week. I don't know. Everything was going so good this summer.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Like, the Knicks won. I had fun during Pride. The, like, Fourth of July, I don't know, like that was cool, sort of. The World Cup has been fun. And then this week, everything kind of got weird. There's like wildfire smoke. We can't eat fruits and vegetables because there's a parasite. I just like, something happened this week. England lost yesterday. That made me sad. Sorry, if you're, you know, messy down. I just, I don't know. We need to reset the energy. We need to sage the room a little bit. We have a lot to talk about today. So I'm hoping that this episode will get us off on a good foot for like whatever's to come next. But I don't know. Something in the air. Well, something in the air. Particles. Parasites. There's Legionnaires disease happening in New York, too. Do you know about this? It's the buildings with water coolers. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what that means.
Starting point is 00:01:41 But it is, it's freaky time. And we're here to get through it together. Some things to be aware of on the show this week. What a week it was. We had Fager Parks on Tuesday. If you have not listened to, watched that.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Do yourself a favor. Go back. Fadra is so funny. So effortlessly just charismatic. She can deliver a read at any moment. We've had her on the show before, but it was back when she was on married to medicine and had just on traitors.
Starting point is 00:02:14 So she was very, she was like popping at the time, but she hadn't come back to housewives. So it was so fun sitting down with her, talking about Real Housewives of Atlanta, reminiscing a little bit. Obviously, there's a lot of drama going down on this current season, which we will get into today.
Starting point is 00:02:30 But so Fager's on the show this week. Next week we have in the hot seat. off of an In the City finale where I think they're now even a little more in the hot seat, Whitney and Kenny. I had a great time talking to them too. I'm excited for you guys to hear that one. I think they're going to be a little bit polarizing going into the reunion, but I am excited to see that reunion.
Starting point is 00:02:50 And who knows? In the city, kind of a sleeper hit for me because I feel like the first, the first like few weeks of In the City, it just was like summer house adjacent a little too much. And then right at the end of the season, suddenly Georgina's popping a little bit. Suddenly Whitney is getting in the mix. Lexi's being a bit of a bone carrier. I feel like at the end of the season, there are some signs of life from sort of the like B team of the cast that make me think that maybe this show has more juice than I would have predicted six weeks ago. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:24 We'll see. But so Whitney and Kenny coming Tuesday. And then of course, yesterday on the feed, we had the Love Island USA finale. mentioned it all, Island Time. We've been breaking it down every week, me and Chris Burns. Chris Burns and me, I should say. So we put that out yesterday talking about the finale, Brinity, all of that. And we will be back with one more episode of Island Time. Sounds crazy to say in September, talking about the reunion. My God, I cannot believe I have to care about those people until September. I mean, I don't have to care, but I have to like remember their names. It's a lot to take on. But we have a couple of news items this week that I want to talk about, and then we will get into recapping the shows. It has been a busy week, and less to get buried underneath some casting news that came out today, yesterday, Wednesday, whatever day, we got the cast for the next season of Special Forces, World's Toughest Test, which is, of course, a show that I do not watch and never plan to. but I'm always interested in knowing kind of like who's in the mix for casting on these
Starting point is 00:04:32 sort of like random ass amalgamation shows. You know, like they're trying to cast like famous people and, you know, sometimes I've heard of them, sometimes I haven't. Really interesting. So we, first of all, we got an explanation for why Alexia, Umansky and one of the John and Kate plus eights, one of the plus eights has been hanging. out with Alexia and we were like, why the fuck do they know each other? It turns out they know each other because they're both competing on Special Forces World's Toughest Test,
Starting point is 00:05:02 only on Fox. Now, both Mauricio and Alexia are on this season of Special Forces World's toughest test. And look, the Netflix show got canceled. Maricio's not really on Beverly Hills anymore. You got to get attention somehow. In this economy, you can't be saying, I mean, I'm sure the agency is still raking in the multi multi multi millions and alexia is i think like a nepo hire there good for her as she should be um but yeah i mean who doesn't want a little attention and this is reminiscent of i don't know if it was last season i don't know what calendar they do this show on um but gia and teresa did it together previously so it fits with the theme that they're like okay how can we how can we make this a little more complicated
Starting point is 00:05:55 a little more fucked up, and they're going to put, I mean, Maricio is a handsome man. Does, is Marie, like, I feel like he's going to need like a hip replacement on special four. It makes me nervous to see people, you know, in, I would say, like, late middle age on special forces world's toughest test. We know it's no joke. Every year you look at the Wikipedia breakdown and it's like, this person medically evacuated, this person quit, this person injured, this person couldn't do it.
Starting point is 00:06:24 there's only like three people that make it till the end because they're the only ones left. I think Alexia will probably do well though. Colin Gosselin, he'll probably do well. He's had to fight all his life for attention, for probably scraps of food on the table. You know that house was a hellhole. I don't know. I mean, we saw some of it. But the most important casting for this season. George Santos. The diva. The diva himself. he's fresh out the slammer.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Did he go to the slammer? He did. I think he did. And he is, he said, he said, and this is his words, he got his fat ass up off the couch and is doing special forces world stuff his test. Now, I do think sometimes it's like funny to have like a convicted felon on a reality show. Like, but sometimes I'm just like, There is that question of like, why are we giving this person a chance? I'm assuming he's getting a paycheck for this.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Why is Fox giving him a paycheck? I don't know. Because in the past we had, remember when Sean Spicer was on Dancing with the Stars? I saw him in Midtown once. It was a jump scare. Remember when, oh my God, remember when Rod Blagojevich was on, I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here? Back in, like, 2009 or something.
Starting point is 00:07:49 I was in, like, ninth grade and I was living for that drama. The same season that Heidi and Spencer did it, mess. mess, disaster. So I won't be watching that, but I'm intrigued. Maybe there will be good clips. But the more kind of actually relevant casting news that I want to talk about is that we just found out today that the season of the golden life, which of course is the not Roney show that E is doing, E, which is not a part of NBCU anymore. so it's not technically, corporately linked with Bravo.
Starting point is 00:08:24 So these women have been filming down in Florida for God knows how long. It feels like this show has been in production for a year and a half. I'm like, what are you making House of the Dragon? How long does it take? Like, how many episodes?
Starting point is 00:08:37 So it turns out they're doing more episodes. They've added to the episode order for the season and they are bringing on Margaret Joseph's and Candice Bushnell as friends of. and they are going to take it to the Hamptons and extend the season. And look, I don't really care about like how Candace Bushnell is going to fit in with this group. I mean, I think she knows all of them.
Starting point is 00:09:02 She famously was the person that Dorinda said clip to, I believe. So she fits right in in terms of the social scene. Margaret, I, you know, they all know each other from being on Bravo and seeing each other at, you know, these, you know, bullshit events over the years. I am a little bit like, why am I still hearing about this show and not being shown an episode? Because it just feels like we have gotten so much information about this person's joining. This person was added. This person was fired, Jill. This person was added to replace Jill, Durenda. Now they're filming. Now they're out and about. Ooh, the ladies are ladying. Oh, here's a little clip. Here's the teaser. And now they're, I assumed they were
Starting point is 00:09:49 done filming and I find out they're adding more episodes and more people to the cast. It just, they're trying to make it seem iconic and to me it's giving disjointed. And so I'm like, look, I don't think that number of episodes being ordered is like information that the public should really have to care about. Like, I want you to put the show in front of me and however many episodes are ready to go, just let him play. I don't think the general public needs updates about the episode count that's being ordered by E. Show me the show.
Starting point is 00:10:29 But at the same time, I'm like, do I even want to watch the show? I will. I will. It's not special forces. I feel like it actually is my job to watch this show. But I remain unconvinced about what the Golden Life really is going to look like. they put together this like announcement video of Margaret and Candace joining it where it's like all the women on FaceTime and they're like, look is coming, look is coming, look is coming, a new arrival.
Starting point is 00:10:54 We'll see. Jury is still out. They need to wow me. Also, the ultimate girls trip, Roaring 20th cast is on the cover of people today. They all look good, kind of. Excited to see that show. It's coming very soon. Of course we'll talk about it.
Starting point is 00:11:12 And also, Real Housewives of London is. is premiering next week on Bravo and Peacock. Obviously, it's the season that was aired last year in the UK. I'm a little, I'm on the fence about whether that is like something to recap every week. Because I didn't watch the season last year. So it'll be new to me, but I don't know if most people already watched it or if people are going to care. Let me know what you think in a, in a comment or a lovely, you know, YouTube review or whatever. But maybe. Maybe we'll talk about it. Maybe we'll check in with them. I do want to watch
Starting point is 00:11:48 it. I'm excited to have it easily available in a way. Like, miss me with the VPN stuff. I know how it works. I don't, I just, I don't have room in my life for that. I have to pay for YouTube TV. Like, that's, that's enough. Let's get in to Real Housewives of Atlanta, because this week was a doozy of an episode. They were off last week, and I was kind of like, why are we taking a week off in the middle of this Scotland trip. It feels like this season has good momentum. Like, I would like to keep it going. I will just say, I now feel like I needed that week off to mentally, physically, spiritually prepare myself because this Sunday's episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta was a lot. And of course, we will get to the, um, the accusations between, uh, Portia and Shemia. But first, I just,
Starting point is 00:12:35 this episode, it was dramatic, but also, boy, it made me laugh. Because we start off, um, um, We're back in Scotland. Fadra has discovered that Scotland has banned pornography websites, apparently, because she was looking up whoever the lesbian porn star is that was mentioned the night before. And Portia's like, no, no, no, sweetie. When you travel abroad, you have to screen record the videos you want, save it to your phone, and then pull it up and watch it when you're there. That's how I do it.
Starting point is 00:13:05 And I just, we've come so far. We've come so far from 10 years ago we would have had, being a lesbian, and you had accusations. It was something to be flung around and fought about. And now we're talking about the logistics of making sure that you have access to your favorite flavor of pornography while you're traveling abroad. And I think that's beautiful. And then we go outside and we do some Highland games.
Starting point is 00:13:33 And I don't know all the technical details of the Highland games, but watching them play Tug of War and Kelly, sweet, tiny little Kelly, getting dragged across the lawn, legs up in the air, fully, fully like on her back, getting dragged like 15 feet across the lawn in this game of tug of war. I was dying. It was so, just like the visual of that, you can't ask for anything more. But we continue going through this day in Scotland. Portia and Kelly have sort of seen the light in their issues.
Starting point is 00:14:16 They're on a better page since last night. And this is, I think, you know, it's a small moment because, you know, Portia and Kelly I was never, you know, spending that much time thinking about them fighting. But Shamiya sees that Portia is moving forward with Kelly and is like, why is Porsche moving on with other bitches? but she's not interested in moving on with me. Now, file that away. Remember that Shamiya has already, on this day, in Scotland, felt some type of way.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Because it will turn out to be important. Shamia also, she's really going through it. She calls her mom to talk about Angela making accusations about her, you know, sleeping with Hawks players and this, that, and the other thing. And she is saying that she feels attacked by the group and nobody has her back and yada, yada. And on the flip side of this, I think it's really interesting to see that K. Michelle and Pinky are having this conversation about Shemia. And Kay is telling Pinky that something, something with Shemia, the energy, because Kay and Shemma earlier in the season were on a good page. They were friends.
Starting point is 00:15:27 They were hanging out. They were ganging up on Drew Sadora together, a favorite pastime. And Kay's like, the energy has shifted. Something doesn't feel the same. she's become standoffish and you know she's been saying that she doesn't have anybody in her corner but Kelly and I don't that makes me unhappy to hear because I I feel as if I've been in the corner it's kind of reminiscent of the conversation that Riley Burris and Ariana were having on on next gen NYC this week where she's like I I feel like I'm in the corner if you don't see me
Starting point is 00:16:01 there maybe it's the wrong corner tell me where to stand I I I I I thought I was doing enough. And Pinky sort of clocks, I think Pinky is doing good work on this episode, both in the theatrics of being broke, which she's like sobbing about how much money she spent. And I'm like, girl, me too. My credit card bill last month, got to rain it in.
Starting point is 00:16:21 I've been on a little bit of a shopping freeze. I'm doing a lot better this month. But it was like for, you know, sometimes you get in like a month-long period where it's just like, what happened to the self-control? What happened to the willpower? I mean, June was a month.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Let me just say that I relate to Pinky. I mean, I'm sure the balance sheet doesn't look exactly the same. I'm not like funding a restaurant and, you know, on TV and trying to act like I'm a multimillionaire. But, no, but Pinky, I think, is doing good work behind the scenes under the radar in terms of clocking some of the dynamics in the group. because she points out that Shamiya has been sort of picking fights, having issues with everybody in the group, and that she feels like Shemia is kind of mentally checked out from her friendships, from her relationships, from sort of trying to be on a good page with people. And while I agree with all of that, then it's a little silly.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Because Kay is saying, I've watched this girl turn into a monster. I'm just like, I mean, it's a little extreme. Shemia turned into a monster. She's not that scary. But yeah, Pinky's talking about being on the phone. She's like on the phone all weekend talking about damn lawsuits. Angela's like, we're crying over money? Come on.
Starting point is 00:17:50 Pinky is Angela talking about how Pinky is really attaching her identity to being Pinky with money. and she's like, money comes and goes. Angela's like, do you know how many millions of dollars I lost on those houses that I was supposed to flip? And last season, it was the main storyline. I couldn't stop hearing about those houses. And this year, everybody loves me. I'm a fan favorite.
Starting point is 00:18:13 I'm reading bitches down. I've earned my spot. Nobody this season is talking about how Angela was broke last season. I don't know if she was broke last season, but like, do you see how Angela's been able to just kind of like shed this? that and move on, I think Pinky is making good strides within the group to where if she was not presenting as this baller who's now a baller with bankruptcy, she could just be fun Pinky. She could just be like good friend Pinky.
Starting point is 00:18:47 And it's not that those things that she's going through financially aren't real or that she shouldn't talk about them. But it's like, yeah, maybe you don't need to like walk into the room. business first. Like, you can just kind of, like, show up and we can learn about those parts of your life that you're dealing with more organically. I did laugh when she said she's about to quit and become a go naked hair ambassador. It's like, that's Drew, that's Drew's spot. That's Cynthia. There's only, there's only so much room. And then we also get Kelly. I mean, the broke Olympics continues between picky and Kelly. Every week, a new person is ahead. And Kelly,
Starting point is 00:19:27 is talking to the group while they're on the van to the tartan store, the tartan store, where Kelly's talking about this man that bought her the new teeth for $70,000. And this is, gives us one of the best phaedra moments in a while, where she's in the confessional. She says, if I can't pay my bills and a man is offering to spend $70,000 on my teeth, I would take some crisp white strips and take the other. and she looks up and she's doing the math in her head, $69,972 on my bills. And that is what makes Fadra such a fucking legend.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Because she's not just like, oh, that's irresponsible, oh, oh, that's dumb. Why'd you have him by teeth? She's giving you the financial plan. And she is sitting there on this van hearing about this. And she's saying, I am offering to you my free legal services. I am putting myself out there to help your ass. And I find out that you had an opportunity of $70,000 presented to you. And you said, let's fix the teeth.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Let's get the smile looking correct. It's about to be homeless, not toothless over here. She doesn't have a place to live. She's under Shummia's roof. It continues to be crazy. And, you know, she's talking about, she's in her confessional talking about, can you imagine being drained of all your bad bitch minerals
Starting point is 00:21:07 and then suddenly you get an infusion? I don't think it's funny. It's not, to me, it seems like she's in a pretty dire situation. And if you're spending all your money on dog wigs and teeth and clothes, oh my god it's just it can only if it's if it's only a storyline honestly good because I want her to be provided for but if it's if this is real I don't want her to be joking about it I want her to be like terrified I want she should be crying the same way the pinky is I don't know but I think you know my credit card bill is going to be better this month
Starting point is 00:21:49 depending on what happens in the next week we'll see um we finally make get to dinner. And they're at dinner. And I looked up where, so they're staying kind of far outside of Edinburgh, but the dinner is like right in the middle of the city of Edinburgh. I'm like, damn, they're spending a lot of the time in the sprinter van on this trip. I mean, they always are. But, man, Drew, it turns out, is doing a song with Ray J. Good for her. K. Michelle is like, I think it could be good because sometimes delusion goes good with delusion. And honestly, yes. But she's Also, she's working with Dennis again, and she tells Portia that Dennis has been talking about their relationship.
Starting point is 00:22:29 And I just like, I don't understand. Portia and Dennis have not been together in several years. Why is this man not ready to be, to move on? Get a life. You're co-parenting? Sure. You gave her the ring back. Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:49 move on. It's done. Whether or not Portia's, you know, gay, gay, swimming in the lady pond, which apparently he's being weird about, shocker. Move on. She's not yours. She never, I mean, she never, never was.
Starting point is 00:23:06 She was at some point, kind of. It's, it's so over. She's been married and divorced since then. You got to move on. But that's not the end of Portia's issues at the dinner because Shemia brings up something that Portia said about not wanting Pilar to go to her house and sort of this insinuation that she couldn't like trust Shemia to watch her daughter, which I don't really think is what Portia ever said or meant.
Starting point is 00:23:35 But she's saying that, you know, Porsche is like, you know, now trying to control their daughter's relationships and just because they're not on a good page doesn't mean that it should affect their kids. And I don't know how to feel about that specific piece of this. Because in my mind, like, I don't, I don't have kids. I don't, I've never had to navigate this for myself. But like, when I think about people that my parents were friends with and that like I grew up, you know, being around their kids, like, if our parents had like a major falling out and were no longer even on speaking terms, I don't think I would continue to. go over to their house and hang out and be besties with the kids. I mean, maybe if you were like going to school together and still seeing each other,
Starting point is 00:24:27 maybe that would be a little different. But like, I don't, I don't think it's Porsche's job to be arranging playdates and sleepovers for Pilar and Shamiya's daughter when they, like, literally are enemies. Like, right? I don't know. I mean, if you think I'm wrong, I get it, because it is like, it's a thorny situation. Their moms were friends, not anymore. They were friends, not anymore.
Starting point is 00:24:55 But like, you know, if the kids, a third generation, maybe there's going to be a third generation of beef. But anyway, Shemia says that Portia said in the past that Housewives was her thing and that it would change, you know, stuff in their dynamic if she was full time. Portia says she's lying. Of course, it all goes back to being about the show. It's about the show. It's about the fucking show.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Of course it is. And then Shemia, she goes back to the stuff about their moms. And we know in the past that there is some sort of drama, beef, whatever, between Shemia's mom and Portia's mom, Miss Diane, an icon. But we've never really, like, really dug into it because it seemed like for a time until right now, that Portia and Shemya were both kind of in agreement that it was not their place to go there with what happened with their moms and that maybe it wasn't even fully clear to them what had happened. But it turns out, Shemia says that Portia's mom tried to sleep with her dad. Not Ms. Diane.
Starting point is 00:25:59 What are we doing? What are we doing? And Portia, Portia plays this off like a champ because she could have thrown a glass. She could have stood up at, she could have tried to fight her. She could have screamed and shouted. And she says, well, your mom slept with your dad's, brother when he was dating my mom. So she's saying that Shamiya's mom slept with her uncle, Shamiya's uncle, while Shemya's uncle was dating Portia's mom. So it was cheating and it was like cheating with a family member and she was cheating on, he was cheating on Diane, a lot of layers. and Shemia. Shemia goes,
Starting point is 00:26:51 my father's brother? Which one? Shemia, baby, that's not good. Because we hear right away in the confessional. I think it's Fajer who said it. If somebody says that my mom slept with my uncle, the correct answer is you're lying, not which uncle? You got to, I mean, if it's not true, you got to deny it.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Even if it is true. But it's not good. It's not good between the two of them. It's too heated. I don't love it. But Shemia. Shemia, why did you? What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:27:30 She ends up leaving the restaurant. Kelly chases after her. Kay Michelle, who thinks she's in the corner and Shemia's not appreciating it enough. She does stay at the table, but she says that she doesn't like that when it's one person in the group feeling like everybody's against them. and Cynthia, who has been pretty quiet this whole time, she says, well, is that on us or is it, is she doing it to herself? And I'm like, I feel like Cynthia has not been that spicy for the most part, where she's suggesting that, yeah, if everybody's against Shamiya, it's because Shamiya has been making all of these messes for herself. Shemia in the car is saying, a Porsche does this stuff because her home life is so fucked up. I'm like, what is, that's, I don't love that.
Starting point is 00:28:19 And that she sees, Portia says she sees devilness in Shamiya's eyes. Ooh, a chill just went down my spine. But this is a lot. Portia says Shamiya and her mom are like the trash you put out on Wednesday. And that's the most you've heard me say about the bitch all season. That's in her conventional. I mean, it really is true. Like, we have not gotten much Porsche versus Shemia content this season because it has seemed like
Starting point is 00:28:43 Portia is kind of trying to take the high road of like, if I don't have anything nice to say. I just won't say anything. And clearly, Shamiya, she broke the ceasefire. It's over. It's done. Porsche posted on Twitter after the episode. You know, I, we've kind of, we're past the heyday of people reacting to their own shows on social media. But I'm just going to read it. Portia said, wait, just catching up here in the Bahamas. First of all, I love the soft flex of like, sorry, I've been on vacation. Sorry, I'm in this beautiful lagoon and I didn't have service until right now. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:29:25 She's in the Bahamas. She says, yo, I can't believe there are actually people talking about my mother and mentioning my daughter in a negative way. Was this really worth it? Shamiya took this way too far. You're not innocent while you've got people discussing my mom because of a lie you told on this show. If we're going to discuss it, keep it between us.
Starting point is 00:29:43 Now let's discuss you. sleeping with your manager who's married to one of your high school friends, as well as a pastor in Decatur who's 100% on your roster, along with many more. Hashtag, let's go. Don't make me call Porsche. That was like the most like tweeted response to this was like, and see, this is why you don't make me call Portia. I cannot wait to see this Atlanta reunion.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Oh boy, because they already filmed it. They already filmed it. And you know they watched this and had a lot of thoughts and had time to prepare. The thing is, I think, and then I'll move on. I think that Shamiya thinks that waging a battle royale with Portia will make it so that she and Portia are like on a similar level. And kind of these two like Godzilla versus Kong, you know, like the two big bosses that are fighting each other. But the problem is it was always Porsche's show. And even if I, like, I didn't have a problem with Shamiya becoming a housewife.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Maybe Portia did. I wasn't opposed to it on like any kind of moral compass level. But becoming a housewife doesn't mean that you're on an even playing field with everybody else. It's just not the way it is. I mean, Kelly is not as important to this show as Porsche is. Shemia, even though she feels like she's been around forever and, you know, kind of has, she is not on the same level as Portia, as Vajra, as Cynthia, who's a friend of. I don't even think she's on the same level as Drew and Angela in terms of if you were to rank this cast
Starting point is 00:31:41 by who would they be more likely to keep, who feels more integral to the fabric of the show, who is providing stability, but also drama and everything. I mean, Portia is that girl, and I think Shamiya is giving us some big moments this season, but I just, I don't think it's going to pay off for her in the long run. I mean, I don't know if she'll be fired after this season. Like, she might, she might, may well stick around. But I just don't, I don't think that this is the, I don't think that this is like the, the, you know, like Trump card that she is kind of.
Starting point is 00:32:19 feeling like it is for herself. I don't know. I don't know. Okay, let's go to OC. In Toronto, every arrival is a statement, and nothing says it better than this. Cadillac Optic was the number one selling luxury EV in Canada for 2025. Find your rhythm across a seamless 33-inch display

Let's take the Cadillac. Find out more at Cadillac Canada.ca. Luxury sales claim based on S&P Global Mobility Canadian New Vehicle Total Registrations for calendar year 2025 for the Cadillac definition of luxury.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Hey y'all, it's Kelly Clarkson with Wayfair. Ever order furniture online and wonder what if? Like, what if it doesn't hold up? That sofa was four days old. You should have ordered from Wayfair. With Wayfair, there's no what if. Just style you love and quality you can trust. Visit Wayfair.ca.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Wayfair, every style, every home. So it's episode two of the season. We're sort of like resetting a little bit after that season premiere, whatever the fuck happened at Heather's Valentine's Day, $75,000 party. It kind of mattered. It kind of didn't. Some of it will get into. But first of all, we have the taglines for this season. I don't love most of them. It's just a little bit like, what are we doing with these taglines? I feel like the golden era of Housewives taglines is probably like 10 years in the Rory Mirror at this point. But we still have to do it every season. The one that I did like is Shannon.
Starting point is 00:33:52 How do I hold it all together? Resilience and shapewear. I thought it was fun. It's just like everybody's tagline has to be so about like Vickies is about wives come and go, but legends are forever. Tamras is about, I'm the hottest housewife and that's my opinion. And, you know, it's just like a little, we get it. Like, I don't know. I just, whatever happened to housewives taglines being epic? throw each of the wolves and I come back eating the pack we lost the special sauce the secret ingredient is gone but no a lot of this episode is just talking about how we feel about
Starting point is 00:34:33 who's talking about Tamara and can we all you know be honest and is Heather evil and what is Jen doing and how does Shannon feel and I get that we have to talk about this like it's kind of the biggest
Starting point is 00:34:47 the biggest thing going on. But it's just kind of like, at the end of the day, I think I said this last week. It's just like Tamara's always going to be Tamara, and this is the 17th season of Tamara being Tamara. And are we all shocked that Tamara's being Tamara? And how many more times are we going to pick apart Tamara being Tamara? Like, there's only so much you can say.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Jen says that she wasn't trying to cause issues between Heather and Tamara at the Valentine's Day party. and that Tamara thanked Jen for telling her that Heather was talking shit. And she's like, oh, no, that's not what I was trying to do? Well, then what were you? You can't be the bone carrier. And then once you've dropped off the bone, be like, oh, no, I didn't mean for you to have a bone. It was delivered by hand.
Starting point is 00:35:37 You couriered it to her. And then Emily is still pissed at Tamara over being dismayed. of her podcast or something. The whole, I mean, the, the podcast drama. Emily's podcast was doing so well that she's launching a new podcast, both of which are with Shane, both talking about legally brunette, and now they're talking about wives chopping off husband's dicks or something. Couldn't tell you.
Starting point is 00:36:07 They're doing like a boudoir photo shoot for the podcast, not necessary. But then there's the drama over their podcast. was on the two T's in a pod podcast feed, but then the podcast went to a different podcast feed, and it wasn't doing as well. And Emily was like, oh, the podcast is going to its own podcast feed. And Tamara was like, why didn't you thank me for putting your podcast on my podcast feed? And Emily's like, because they just told me to post about the podcast feed. So I didn't think it was just a business thing. I was just following instructions.
Starting point is 00:36:41 And look, my feelings. aren't always super positive about Vicky. But when Tamara is filling her in on this whole drama about the podcast, how many times have I said podcast? Put a dollar in the jar. And Vicky just goes, you're talking about the podcast. And all I hear is, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Amen, sister. And can I just say, Vicky, you missed last season? It's been on, it's been an epidemic across Bravo the last couple of years. enough about the podcasts. Now, thankfully, I guess, at least in this case, they are talking about their own podcasts and not about somebody going on somebody else's podcast and talking shit or lying or calling somebody a name. At least this time, the podcast drama is coming from inside the house.
Starting point is 00:37:39 I would prefer that. I don't need another. storyline about something that somebody said to Nick Viall six months ago. I certainly don't need that. But I also don't really need this. And so I feel like Tamara and Emily kind of get past it in this episode, and I hope that it stays that way, because I would like to not say the word podcast 55 times every episode of this season. And also, I know that those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. So if you're listening to or watching this podcast, thank you. But we are, we're moving right along.
Starting point is 00:38:15 We meet, uh, we learn more about Carmelah this week. She was married to, uh, an NFL player for third, for 12, she, she says 12 or 13 years. Um, she got married when she was 21 and he was 34. Don't love that. Um, he was like, I looked it up. He was like a good football player. Like, he was in the pro bowl like four times. Seems, seems legit. Uh, but they, they got divorced but aren't legally divorced. because they have, I think, four kids together and decided that they didn't want to have a custody agreement. So they just share and see the kids whenever they want and have a bunch of different
Starting point is 00:38:59 houses. It sounds like Vicki's mind is just whirling when she's hearing all of this at Emily's birthday party. She's like, what are you? How do you? What are you? What are you? What are you? What are you talking him. What do you mean? Because, you know, she's thinking like insurance numbers, probably. She's like, she's like, do they have a life insurance policy? If they don't, if they do, what does that mean? How does it work? Vicky, Vicki is terrified for all these people. She's like, you're staking your future on a podcast and you don't even have a custody agreement. What's going on? I leave for five years and everything goes to shambles. Vicki is terrified. But, no, but Carmelah's interesting life situation doesn't stop there because she's living with this boyfriend who has cheated on her.
Starting point is 00:39:49 And her ex-husband, I mean, legally still husband, but ex-husband, also cheated on her. And that's why she left him. But then the boyfriend, who she's not married to because she's legally full-married to the other guy, he cheated on her. And they've now been on and off, but she's working on forgiving him, but they live together. I'm like, the idea of living together with your four kids, with somebody that you would describe as your on and off boyfriend, I don't love that. I mean, who am I to judge? Parenting choices? Finances.
Starting point is 00:40:28 It's a lot. But like, what's going on? Right off the bat, I have questions about. Carmela. And maybe I will end up adoring her by the end of the season. But it is just a little bit like, what's going on here? There's a lot of any more to the story. And Vicky's picking up on that. And it does seem like she and Vicky are going to have some issues for the rest of the season. But earlier in the episode, we see Heather and Tamara have a sit down. They're kind of hashing out what Jen said to Tamara about Heather. And she's, she's, she's, she's,
Starting point is 00:41:05 Heather's telling, Heather's telling Tamara that, in fact, Jen has been prodding her for info about Tamara and that they've, you know, when they've been talking, she's like, and how would you say your friendship is? And what would, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, like, just sort of like gathering information in a way that doesn't feel maybe organic, which I think is like an interesting little thread to follow. But then Heather, uh, says that she feels like, Tamara says that Heather doesn't really like, her and feels like she's controlling and manipulative. And she feels like Heather changes her personality based on who she's talking to, which is kind of a tale as old as time of what we've
Starting point is 00:41:46 heard over the years. Vicky, of course, Vicki's always, I think, kind of like had her eye on Heather. She's never fully appreciated her. She says that Heather is a surface friend who wants to be liked by everyone. And Vicky doesn't like that Heather sent her a text welcoming her back to the group as if she's trying to be this leader of the pack. And she's like, I'm a leader in the pack. What are you talking about? I'm the OG of the OC. How dare you welcome me back to the show that I started?
Starting point is 00:42:15 And that is just, that is the perfect reason for Vicky to have beef with someone when she's coming back to the show for season 20 of like, how dare you welcome me back to the show? But then you know if Heather didn't welcome her back to the show, the storyline would be, how dare you not be gracious about me being back on the show? I mean, that's the thing. You can't have it. You can't have it both ways, and Vicki's never going to be okay with that.
Starting point is 00:42:45 We end, it's Emily's 50th birthday party. Everybody else has to dress old, so she looks even hotter. Perfect. And then Heather confronts Jen about how she talked to Tamara at the party and, you know, making her look bad. and Heather's like, maybe I won't, maybe I, you know, Jen's like, well, maybe you shouldn't tell me how you feel about people if you don't want me to blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
Starting point is 00:43:09 and Heather's like, you asked me. It's going to be a long season. I have not, not enjoyed these first two episodes of O.C., but I feel like we've, we're still looking for what the, what the real, like, groove of the season is going to be. And it's early. It is so early. There's so much time to find it. but also I would appreciate if next week kind of felt like it was a little more settled.
Starting point is 00:43:37 I don't know. I don't know exactly what I want, but I feel like I'm only getting like 65% of it right now. So room to improve. Okay, well, let's talk about the In the City finale just a little bit. They're in Connecticut. It's a short season. It is a little bit like, I would be curious to see exactly what this season would have looked like without the scamanda.
Starting point is 00:44:04 Because it's not like they filmed a ton extra. I mean, at the end of this episode, we whoosh back to the scene that we saw at the very beginning of the season, which is Kyle and Amanda meeting up to talk in April after the scandal went public. And, you know, they're talking about just kind of the same shit. I mean, Amanda denies that she left Kyle.
Starting point is 00:44:31 for West, that's not what we thought happened. She says that people are supporting lover boy only because they hate her so much. It's like, okay. She's terrified to walk outside because someone might scream in her face. Again, people be normal. Act, act right. And that she just wishes she could go out to dinner and live a normal life. And it kind of seems like she is, I got to say.
Starting point is 00:44:54 She's going to weddings. She's going to Yankee games. She's going to dinner. She's been outside all summer. And, you know, more power to her. It's a free country. but that scene is kind of whatever but most of the episode is still just at this Friendsgiving trip in Connecticut.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Whitney and Whitney's still in the hot seat over the single mom card comment that she made the prior week and it doesn't get a lot better because when she and Danielle are talking about it Danielle's kind of like so yeah what what was that what you what you what you what what you what you what you feel like saying that. And Whitney's like, well, you know, it just would have been a small thing to give Yvonne the room to work on their, the relationship with their best friend. And also, when you think about it, Lindsay and Georgina both have nannies. And not everyone has help.
Starting point is 00:45:47 And not the best comment. But I love, love, love, love, Danielle's response. Because she's listening to Whitney and looking at her and going, not great, not great, not great, not I would not recommend going down that path. But also, she's doing the calculus. She's saying, oh, Lindsay has an issue with Whitney, and Whitney maybe is making it worse, which means that Lindsay doesn't have the focus on the issue with me.
Starting point is 00:46:25 And I love the 3D chess that Danielle is playing, where she's saying, if Lindsay can be even 10% distracted and set her sights on, you know, ruining Whitney's life, it'll make my life just a little bit easier. And I love that for Danielle. You know, her life should be a little bit easier. She's going through it.
Starting point is 00:46:44 She's been through a lot. We go apple picking. Lexi is sort of turning on Whitney a little bit. She's like, I was shocked to hear you drop the single mom card. And, you know, they're talking a lot of time in the car. Again, just so much time in the car. the car. Kenny is defending Whitney and saying that she loves single moms, of course. And Whitney says that Lindsay's friends are scared of her. And she is too. We talked about that
Starting point is 00:47:13 in the episode that you'll see on Tuesday. So I don't want to spend too much time on that whole thing. They also talk about it. Lindsay at the apple picking, she's like, hi, can I hold a cider while I'm picking the apples? And he's like, you got to have two hands. And she's like, moms can do a lot of things because we have to. We can hold a lot of things. Remember, moms are, moms can do anything. It's like, oh boy, she's, she's activated. Georgina and Whitney really get into it at this fire pit thing after Lindsay has left because she's sick of watching everyone bow down to Lindsay. And Georgina gets really pissed. She gets emotional. She leaves the fire and then she comes back. And she's like, it was none of your business, Whitney, to insert yourself in Lindsay and
Starting point is 00:48:01 Yvonne's friendship. And Whitney is like, I mean, this whole season, everybody's been inserting themselves in Kenny and my relationship. So kind of, tusha. And Georgianne says that Kenny and Whitney don't like women as a couple, which tough, tough assessment. Again, we talked about that. So stay tuned. But back of the house, Lindsay and Whitney do have a little bit of a moment. You know, they kind of make up a little bit. But then, We have messy Gavin telling Lindsay that she did nothing wrong. And Kenny has to take him outside and be like, bro, what the fuck? All season you've been saying I hate dogs and calling me a fuck boy and talking shit about my girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:48:48 What's going on? We're supposed to be friends. And every chance you've gotten, you've made me look like a dickhead. I thought that was a nice conversation. Gavin seems to, you know, he gets it. But yeah, I mean, it's just, it's a nice, it's a nice finale. Lindsay and Owen are getting along. Never thought that would happen.
Starting point is 00:49:13 It's, it's always tricky with the first season of a show. There's a lot of new people. There's a lot of, you know, things to figure out. I do feel like in the city will probably get a second season. Interestingly enough, though, they announced last week or early this week the returning cast for Summerhouse season 11. And it's everybody that you would expect. Kyle, Lindsay, Carl are all going to be back for this season.
Starting point is 00:49:45 Amanda and West, we already kind of knew aren't going to be on this season. Sierra is going to be back. Jesse, K.J., Mia, Bailey. I think that's the whole group. I'm sure there will be some other newbies. But what's interesting about that is that my assumption all along prior to the scandal of it all is that once in the city started, the sort of, you know, senior class of summer house that was on in the city would likely just sort of stay on in the city.
Starting point is 00:50:16 And that maybe because of the scandal, they felt like, okay, we got to, we got to have some stability in the summer house. So we're going to keep our Lindsay and our Kyle and I don't know what would have happened with Carl. We're going to keep them in the family, keep them close for one more summer. summer, but I still think that in the city makes more sense for them as a long-term home. Because Lindsay has been doing excellent work for us this year. She has been delivering at a high level.
Starting point is 00:50:48 She has not lost a step. And if she has, you know, one more part-time summer house season in her, that cannot be the end of our Lindsay Hubbard on the Bravo screen. So I would like for there to be another season of In the City. I would like them to be ready to go right at the end of the summer. And I would like it to be more than nine episodes. I will say that. Now I'm excited to see this reunion.
Starting point is 00:51:13 It's in the clubhouse, but it's going to be two parts. The trailer looks pretty dramatic. Overall, not bad. Not bad about In the City. Yvonne Lexi and Danielle all having babies. It's going to be very baby-ish next season. I don't know how I feel about that, but congratulations. to everyone involved.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Okay, I just want to touch on NextGen NYC really quickly because this episode was really tough for Riley. Tough for Riley. And I, Riley last season, had a bit of a bit of a quieter season. I mean, she definitely, she got into it with Charlie a little bit over, you know, some kind of like microaggression vibe kind of stuff. I really appreciated her bringing that perspective to the, the show. I think she has a good quality for, you know, being on TV and obviously we have history
Starting point is 00:52:07 with her. So far this season, it's a little, it's a little tough because she wasn't in the first episode. And then since she's been back, it just feels like she's, um, she's having a little bit of a bumpy start to the season. And the way that she is handling, handling conflict, but also handling her friends is, is just a little off-putting on the show. Because last week, we left. off in the middle of this, you know, cursed girls' night, guys night thing. And she and Ava had gone outside and it was the say please and thank you. And she was like, don't ever tell me to say please and thank you. And I was just kind of like, say please and thank you. But they kind of like awkwardly hug and go back inside. And it's like, I don't know, I don't know exactly
Starting point is 00:52:53 what that was. But then we end up going back outside. This is after, you know, Amira and Georgia are talking about about the thing about Georgia flirting with Amira's boyfriend Kevin. And previously Georgia had said she heard it through gay grapevine. And now she's like, no, actually Charlie said it. So suddenly the seed is planted. Amira is basically the only person who's been loving Charlie so far this season. And now she's like, well, fuck that little kid, that little dweeb.
Starting point is 00:53:25 Crypto maybe felon, allegedly. not, I don't think it's him. He's just adjacent. Um, so I'm curious to see how that develops. But anyway, the boys show up. They go outside and Georgia like offers Riley a drink and Riley, who we know is a little bit, um, a little bit intoxicated. She says, no, it probably has ketamine in it. Cat. Georgia's like, what are you talking about? And Riley's like, insinuating that Georgia is, like, insinuating that Georgia is, is some kind of ketamine addict, but won't, but then it's like, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up. Shut up, shut up, oh, my God, shut up. And Eva's like, Riley, hey Riley, Riley, really, really. And she's like, no, shut up, shut up. And Ariana's like, Riley.
Starting point is 00:54:22 Hey, Rayleigh, really, hey, shut the fuck, shut up, shut up, what is going? is going on. It's weird. And look, I know she's not sober. Not her best moment. Candy, Candy calls her on FaceTime and is like, why is the whole internet talking about you? But it's like, I just think like even, even if you've had perhaps been a bit overserved or something, it's just the way she speaks to people is is off-putting. And then she says, Georgia, you can't even afford a Birken. What? What?
Starting point is 00:55:08 It's just, it's weird. You can't afford a burkin? First of all, like, could she? I don't know. But also, it's just a very, you, for like a 23-year-old who it seems like you're really just kind of coasting off your parents' generosity and, you know, resources. very weird. And, you know, Rowan, who's brand new to the show, she's clocking this, she doesn't like it.
Starting point is 00:55:37 It makes me sad and uncomfortable to see that Riley is kind of like handling her business in this way. And then later in the episode, because whatever, you're drunk, it's fine, it gets out into the, the streets are talking, saying that they had some kind of altercation, which is a little overblown. But later in the episode, there's going to be this Halloween party. and the girls are pre-gaming together. I do love that they pre-game on this show. I feel like that's a very like true-to-life thing about being like 24 years old, where it's like, whose apartment are we going to before we go to the party? Because we can't just show up there.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Now I'm too old for that. But Riley and Ariana, they haven't talked in a while. It's a little awkward. And Riley is saying that she just feels like she doesn't have anybody there for her. She doesn't happen to be anybody in her corner, same as we were talking about on Atlanta. And Ariana's like, oh, my God. Like, I do feel like I've been there for you, but I'm so sorry that you didn't, that I didn't make you feel that way. And I obviously want to be there for you.
Starting point is 00:56:50 And, you know, we've only been friends for like a year, so we're still figuring out. And Riley is so upset and so adamant that Ariana has not been there for her and doesn't see what she needs and isn't that friend to her. And again, it's like, I think it's perfectly valid and honestly, like, adult and healthy to ask someone for what you need from them versus just, you know, being silently pissed off or whatever. but the way that she's doing it and the kind of level that it's getting to, it's just like, what's going on? Like, really, what is going on? I don't know. It's like I like Riley and I want her to be like a star on this show.
Starting point is 00:57:39 And right now, the last couple weeks, it's, I feel like she's going about it all wrong. And if it's like a emotional thing that she needs to express herself, I, I just, I feel like there has to be a more effective way. I don't know. I am, I'm finding myself pretty into, pretty into next gen NYC this season. There's a scene where Brooks calls Meredith on FaceTime, and he's filling her in on the Charlie situation,
Starting point is 00:58:10 and she gives him a little nugget of advice. She said, look, Brooks, you need to talk to him, because disengaging is not about avoiding conflict or communication. It's about timing, not about walking away. And Brooks is like, I thought I was disengaging, but it turns out I was disassociating. I really feel like Meredith Marks could write a self-help book tomorrow. Disengaging, the Meredith Marks way. It would be a bestseller, and I believe that.
Starting point is 00:58:42 I mean, I love it. I'm having a good time. I like that we see Candy and Meredith both on FaceTime this episode. I like that we're getting a little bit of Liam flirting with Ariana, inviting him to dinner with his family. Risky. Risky. Hudson's back in New York on his private plane, and he's not going to be happy to hear about that. It's not going to go well. That's where we're going to leave it for this week.
Starting point is 00:59:10 Thank you so much for everyone listening and watching. What a week it has been, and we will be back next week with Whitney and Kenny on Tuesday. Go rate, review, subscribe. And until next time, be cool. Don't feel like uncool. Betches.
