Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode of Mention It All Island Time is brought to you by Shake Shack. This summer, a new arrival is turning heads at the shack and already creating a stir. Meet the Dubai chocolate pistachio shake, featuring a crackable dark chocolate shell with real pistachio frozen custard and toasted Katoifi shredded felo. It is rich, textured, and just unexpected enough to stand out. One sip in and you'll understand why everyone is talking. Chris and I, we're in the studio with our Dubai chocolate pistachio shakes and that's hitting. It's the perfect mix of nutty and chocolatey. It's delicious.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Shake shock is always bringing the best flavors to life. It's the perfect shakeup, you could say. So some connections don't last forever. Try the Shake shack to buy chocolate pistachio shake before it disappears. Order on the app online or at your nearest shake shack before they're gone. If I was to go to prison, I would be like, guys, let's play Love Island. Because they're all in the same place all the time. They act like they're going other places, but they're not.
Starting point is 00:00:53 The hideaway is like getting sent to solitary confinement for the night. Yeah, clap them cheeks in the hideaway. And Your Honor, they do. Hey everyone, welcome back to mention it all Island Time. I am here with Chris Burns. Aloha. We're here every single week. We're back in our padded cell to talk about Love Island USA.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Today we are talking about episodes 7 through 1300. Woo! Every week the amount of episodes feels somehow like an extra episode is added. But dare I say I hadn't watched for the weekend. And then I was like, okay, time to catch up. And then when I was caught up, I was like, where's the next one? That's it? I thought I had more.
Starting point is 00:01:39 I know. I was traveling the second half of last week and I had downloaded Thursday and Friday's episodes to watch on my flight on Saturday, which two episodes was a total of two and a half hours of content. And I was like, man, I really have to get through this. If I got home and, you know, the Knicks are playing and then I don't have time to watch. I'm going to be so behind. that flight has never gone by faster. No, I mean, they're making two feature films a week.
Starting point is 00:02:05 But meanwhile, I was like, I really hope the old man sitting next to me on this plane is asleep right now because they're fully just like making out, covered in goo, just jumping on each other, crying, crashing out. And I do feel like sometimes I'm like, if I'm in public and I'm watching something, I'm so sorry. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, one time I was watching Rocket Man on a flight and the gay sex scene, I was like, oh my God, sorry. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:02:33 You're like, sorry, kids. You don't have to see that. We'll keep it out of your face. Oh, my gosh. Well, we are, we're now two full weeks into this season of Love Island. It feels like it's been a year. Yeah, it is. How long are they there?
Starting point is 00:02:47 Like five or six weeks. Okay. Long enough to fall in love. Because I think we're, yeah, I think it's going to be like, you know, another month. Casa Amor starts next week. I can't fucking wait for Casa Amor. movie theaters. Did you see this? I did see that. Peacock is hosting a theatrical event at 28 theaters across the country.
Starting point is 00:03:07 I already checked. I can't use my AMCA list for it, so I probably won't be there. AMCA list, they really get you. They don't let you go to any of the fun stuff. But it's crazy that people, I mean, to me, Love Island is something, because it's on so much, I feel like I have to watch it at home. Like, to me, I'm like, I don't have time to be at the, I have to do six. other things while I have this episode on. It's so long and there is, there's moments where I'm like, okay, now I have to really focus on it and we're doing a challenge. Kenzie's crying. Something's happening. But so much of it, I'm like, oh, we're just sitting around talking.
Starting point is 00:03:44 It's like, it gives like when you're on a break from your job when you were in high school and you're kind of friends with the girl that you're in the break room with. Yeah, and she's telling a 20-minute story and you're checking in every five minutes. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, I'm really into, into Love Island, dare I say. I feel like we're at the point in the season where like the vibes have washed over us. And it just, it's like we're... I am looking forward to it every day. The train has left to this day.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Yeah, like, we're recording on Wednesday. There's no episode tonight. No. What are they doing? Yeah, literally, what am I supposed to do tonight? Can I tell you I did download the episode to vote, the app to vote last night? Oh, so did I. Last season when I was watching, I was like, I don't got to do that.
Starting point is 00:04:27 That's like, that's for civilians out there. there. That's for the normal people. That's how Jennifer Hudson got eliminated from American Idol. Okay? That's how Trump got elected as president. But last night, I downloaded the app. By the way, the app has a two-star rating in the app store. Well, because it also was giving me difficulty. It did. Yeah, I had to reload it a few times before it actually let me lock in my vote. But who did you vote for as your favorite couple?
Starting point is 00:04:53 Trinity and Bryce. I voted for Zach and Keda. See, Zach is worrying me. Zach is stressing me out What's worrying you? I think he's going to do her dirty. Kda? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:07 He, okay. I do. So one of the big things that... They only had sex once? So one of the big things that happens this week is that the hideaway is open. And this, it was surprising to me because last season, they didn't open the hideaway until after we had gotten back from Casa Amor. It felt like a really like, it's almost.
Starting point is 00:05:29 almost like on Bachelor when they go to the fantasy suites before the end. It felt like sort of a reward for making it almost to the end. And like, okay, now you're going to like... Now you can finally have sex. Now you can have sex not in a shared bedroom with 16 other people. Speaking of when Melanie is sleeping out in the neon lights... Insult ties. Insultize on like the inch pad.
Starting point is 00:05:51 How much of her do you think is thinking there's a full air-conditioned king-sized bedroom? That's just locked up over here. That's the crazy thing about the hideaway is that it's just sitting there all season. I'd be desperate to break in just for a good nap. But one thing that I appreciate about this show is you can tell that production is really calling the shots in real time based on what's happening
Starting point is 00:06:15 and like who's having which conversations. And we see that, you know, the night before, Zach and Kada are in bed. And Zach's like, I just don't know how far we should go because then like once we've, once we've done stuff, then what, how do we feel? He's like, once we've done stuff, then I'm not going to be able to fuck you over as easily. Right. Like if a bombshell comes in and I have like, you know, done the teeth.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Yeah. I'm going to feel bad. He's like, if I fuck you and a girl comes in who's hotter. Right. That I want to have sex with. What am I supposed to do? And like clockwork at like, let's say 11 a.m. the next day. Gling!
Starting point is 00:06:53 We got a text. The high is open. Wait, and then the cheer, that was my favorite part so far. The clap them cheeks, clap them cheeks, clap them cheeks, clap them cheeks in the hideaway. Because it was so big because last season, the one that they like settled on was, eat that kitty, eat that kitty, eat that kitty in the hot. And I was like, are they just going to run that back? But no, we got clap them cheeks in the hideaway.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Clap them cheeks in the hideaway is so funny. But so it's unanimous decision that Zach and Keda should be the couple to go to the hideaway. And I'm like, okay, convenient that that was the decision. He's like, well, I don't know what we're going to do. And Kate is like, we're doing everything. We're fucking. It will never get old to me, though, how this show is like shot and edited because the way that they get them ready for the hideaway where it's like, it's, it's like in Greece when they're having like the like, tell me more. Yeah, literally.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Like the girls are, the girls are in the makeup room with Kada and they're getting her ready. The boys are like lathering Zach up with like body oil. And he's like, he's like, I'm a bit. I'm a bit scared. I'm a bit scared. I feel like I've got a pump. I feel like I'm going to arrive too soon in the hard way. And she's going to dominate me.
Starting point is 00:08:04 And then they like come down the stairs and everybody's cheering. And it's just like, man, life should be like this all the time. I was literally thinking I'm like, if I was to go to prison, I would be like, guys, let's play Love Island. Because they're all in the same place all the time. They act like they're going other places, but they're not. The hideaway is like getting sent to solitary confinement for the night. Yeah, clap them cheeks in the hideaway. Clap them cheeks in the hideaway.
Starting point is 00:08:32 And your honor, they do. And they do. What did you think when Bryce is like, wait, so what did you guys do? And then Zach is like, we did everything. So you went in her butt? Okay. And everybody's like, what? Like, sir, we got to talk about Zach and Bryce.
Starting point is 00:08:47 It's like not literally everything. Zach and Bryce are gay lovers. There's something going on. Well, you, did you know, what Zach was wearing when they got back from the hideaway? What was he wearing? Bryce's flannel. Like the whole night, he was all cozyed up in Bryce's flannel.
Starting point is 00:09:06 He was like, man, if I've got to go sleep in the hideaway, I'm going to bring something to remember my boy. I want to smell it. There's one scene, I think it was in last night's episode, whatever, one of the one of the million episodes that we've watched where like they're getting ready for bed at night and Bryce and Zach are like sitting in the bed together. and Trinity is like, get the fuck out of my spot. And we see them making jokes about how close they are.
Starting point is 00:09:31 They're like, can we cuddle? Can we hang? It really feels like, I mean, because, okay, it's once when they're like sequestered from the world. It's one thing when the viewers are like, wow, bromance, kiss, put the Barbie dolls together. And then it's one thing when production is starting to kind of like make nods to it. It's in the edit.
Starting point is 00:09:52 We're kind of seeing like the jokes. Yeah. But in the house, in the villa, they are all aware of this at this point. And it's like a thing that they are like actively referencing and making comments about. And I'm like, okay, so this has breached. Like this is inside the villa. This is not something I'm imagining. I think that Kata and Trinity have a similar sense of humor as us as a lot of the world.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Because it seems like they're picking up on a lot of things that we are. all picking up on because there also is a reference and listen maybe this is a crazy reference I literally sent Dylan a voice memo about it but I don't know what it's from you know that girl who they're like competing it's a viral TikTok thing and she's like just vote everybody just vote I'm gonna be out anyway and then she's like Nina when it's time to vote like when Kenzie when they brought in the bombshells and they were doing the not the last night one but episode seven eight or nine yeah Sol Jen Caleb that was very much Kenzie's
Starting point is 00:10:54 energy was like, just vote, just vote. I'm going to be home anyway. And then in the next episode, Kada and Trinity are saying that to each other. Yes. So I'm like, we're all on this. I bet you any money. They're also like Kenzie is giving that.
Starting point is 00:11:06 But I kind of think like, I feel like, I feel like if Zach and Bryce were to like start making out, I think Kada and Trinity would be kind of like all for it. Trinity, absolutely. Trinity would like, that's my mien and my other mien. Yeah, literally.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Trinity would live. Get it. Kada, I don't know if she would be living as much. I don't, okay, Kada, I don't think would be, like, clapping. I think she would be, like, turned on. Yeah, I would be turned on. Except we know that she doesn't, isn't turned on by Bryce. I know, which is, because Bryce is a sweetheart.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Bryce is a sweetheart. What do you think about Bryce and Trinity's connection? Because we're being, I feel like we're being sold on a narrative that it keeps getting stronger and that they really, like, and I'm just like, I don't know. I think that they are going for the win. Yeah. And then they'll be really close friends for two months after the show. I'm doing a bracelet purse right now.
Starting point is 00:12:01 With a jaw, like his jaw line that could cut glass. Yeah. But Trinity should be doing stand-up comedy. Trinity never fails to make me laugh. Careful what you wish for. Trinity's going to have a Hulu special this time next year. I hope so. I love Trinity, so therefore I feel like I feel like I.
Starting point is 00:12:21 I'm liking her and Bryce. Yeah. I think that's the thing, this, like this season, I feel like there are some couples that feel like they have real momentum. I think Zach and Kada have made a lot of progress. Obviously, there's this, like, toxic attraction with Melanie and Sincere that we'll talk about. Yes.
Starting point is 00:12:38 But then there are also couples where I'm like, I like having, I like having Bryce and Trinity around. Totally. So I'm not mad about them just kind of posting. I think I wrote down Trinity one-liners that were. so good when Trinity says, or maybe this was Kenzie's, she goes, I've never shaved my leg hair. My mom doesn't have leg hair either. And Kenzie goes, God has favorites. Trinity's like, I've never shaved my legs. And then also when Melanie's like, ugh, I literally told him, I asked him,
Starting point is 00:13:09 don't hurt my feelings, because I hate when people hurt my feelings. It's like, wow. It gave when Michael Scott is like, you cheated on me when I specifically asked you not to. It's like you're so unique. You don't like when people hurt your feelings. But we should talk about what has gone on with Melanie and Sincere since the last time we spoke. Because I think when we recorded last week, the trio of bedroom bombshells had just entered. We hadn't really gotten any of their storylines yet. And so since then, Soul and Sincere had started chatting and kissing.
Starting point is 00:13:47 connecting on a very intimate level. But they were exploring, but according to Sincere, they did not have a connection. They were exploring a potential connection, but there was no connection. I'm like, it looks like a connection to me.
Starting point is 00:14:02 If it looks like a connection, if it... Calls you Beloved. Sucks face like a connection. If it's slowly, gingerly tracing your body with its fingers all the time. Like a connection.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Seems like a connection. Yeah. That was the one thing. So, like, as of last week, we had seen sort of like Melanie's crash out, whatever, and it felt a little bit unwarranted. But there were a few episodes there where it just felt like sincere was really playing this, like, two-sided game. And it was so frustrating to watch because it's like, you're on Love Island. Just tell her that you are going to talk to Seoul. But we were watching him lie to Melanie's face multiple times and she's like, are you going to kiss her again?
Starting point is 00:14:50 He says, no, I will not kiss her again. And then it's like, two minutes later. It was like, what is the goal here? Because obviously she's going to find out that this stuff is happening. You're making it more painful. Because if you had said, I'm exploring with soul, I know that that sucks to here, but like I just need to figure out what I want. He's also saying directly to Seoul, like, you are what I want. Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:18 I want to explore this with you. He's saying, like, I haven't felt like this the whole time I've been here. This is the best kiss I've had since I've been here. It just felt like he was being deliberately misleading to Melanie and then also, like, just making it a bigger issue than it needed to be. He's a child. Yeah. I also have this theory that a lot of men who think they're good guys, sincere thinks he's a good guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:42 And he also thinks his analogies are like groundbreaking and his analogies make zero sense like any of the time. I don't think he realizes what a douchebag he is being. Yeah. And I feel like when he watches it back and sees like maybe he won't actually. Well, out of, yeah, it's like out of, I feel like a lot of the time on Love Island there are really like shitty guys. And so far this season, there isn't really anybody except sincere that I feel like has. really like... Actively been shitty.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Made poor choices in that way where he's like hurting somebody else. Because when you think about like, you know, Kenzie and Corbin and them, it's like, who cares, whatever. When you think about like Gabe exploring or... I mean, I don't think Casey, like, hasn't really like...
Starting point is 00:16:32 Casey hasn't done anything, but Casey gives something bad as brewing. I know. Casey and Anaya, they stress me out. Anaya, I'm sorry, does not belong on the show. She's too sweet. She's like too not like the rest of them. Like they're all fucking all night long.
Starting point is 00:16:53 It's insane. And then she's like, they're joking about how she's a grandmother because she goes straight to sleep as soon as the lights turn out. I know. It is like on Love Island. It's weird because like obviously in a real life context, sleeping in a room with 12 other people, the expectation would be like, okay, please don't give head right now. Yeah, please don't fuck. But on Love Island, it's kind of like, okay, we've been here for two weeks. Like, you're not touching anything.
Starting point is 00:17:17 That's crazy to me. I'm like, you're not even like, yeah, like just sneaking a feel with each other. Like, there's a broad range from giving head in a room of 12 people and getting finger blasted under a blanket. Right. Like, Gabe was tearfully saying goodbye to Beatrice a couple days ago and his underwear is around his ankles with Jen under the covers. The next day. And Jen, I think, is. just like he's the most passionate, maybe the only passionate man that she's ever been with. Well, I, okay, let's talk about.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Because she talks about how she only dates white finance guys. She loves a funny man in finance. Literally, she's like, I date like really, like usually guys who are really funny and work in finance. You know, they're out there. Where? Sure. I've yet to find one. The, like, court jester of the finance company.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Yeah, the worst guy at the finance off. Right, like the, the funny guy that works in finance probably just like exclusively makes fun of, of like, marginalized groups of people. Like his dad owns the finance, the bank or wherever the fuck. Is it, what am I? A poor person? Yeah, he's like, I'd rather die than wait in line for food. Yeah, so the recoupling, we, you know, America got to vote for the first time earlier. Yes. And it resulted in this recoupling where each of the three bombshells was placed with somebody.
Starting point is 00:18:40 news. So we had, it was, it was kind of like anticlimactic because it was obvious. Each of them really only had like one connection they were exploring. So Sol was placed with sincere. Kenzie was placed with what's his name, Caleb. And Jen was placed with Gabe,
Starting point is 00:18:58 which then left Beatrice, unfortunately, dumped from the island. Because Corbyn chose Melanie and Melanie. Can I get a kiss? Can I get a kiss? Melanie. But it was really a bummer to see Beatrice go home Because it felt like she purely was just like on the wrong side of a math problem
Starting point is 00:19:20 Like nobody nobody actually wanted her She didn't not get chosen She didn't not get chosen So she did not get chosen Like Gabe didn't Gabe didn't want her to leave Gabe and Beatrice though like there's no Come on
Starting point is 00:19:37 that's never gonna. But their goodbye was so sweet. I love her. Don't get me wrong. I feel like of all the girls, if I like could hang out with one of them. Yeah. She seems like she'd be the most fun to like hang out with. Did you see on AfterSun they showed her, they're showing the eliminated people getting their phones back and stuff?
Starting point is 00:19:57 I saw. And they showed her being told that everybody thinks she's a lesbian. And she was like, what? What the fuck, man? Come on. What bro? Like I love dick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:05 What the fuck, bro? I just love dick, ma. Like, everything. Like, period. Period. Yeah. Period. Um, no, but it was, so seeing Jen and Gabe paired up, I just, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Jen to me is really, really sucking a lot of the air out of the room. I, I heard somebody say this recently. I feel like paint would watch Jen dry because she, she just is giving us nothing. Well, she, she was giving absolutely nothing. And then when Baya left, I do feel like she came a little bit more alive. But it's like not... I just, she's like the personality just isn't there. The personality is not personalitying.
Starting point is 00:20:49 And also, we need to go a size up. Melanie needs to go out the tape measure. Yeah, I'm like, girl. Those, like, I cannot possibly be wrong. Like, it looks like uncomfortable for her. You know, she reminds me. visually of Kate Upton. Yes, my roommate also was like she looks like
Starting point is 00:21:13 Kate Upton if she had gigantic knockers that were in the wrong size. Kate Upton famously, that's kind of why she's famous. And, of course, her amazing acting career. Yeah, yeah, of course, of course. But the thing is Kate Upton is somebody who was like, became famous for being hot and then was in, I think, like, one movie. One movie.
Starting point is 00:21:35 And a lot of, oh, she was in a lot of ads for one of those, like, iPhone games where she was like breasting boobly on top of a horse or something good for her but kate upton doesn't really like exist in the culture anymore and i'm like jen is not giving me enough to make me curious about jen like jane is giving kate upton snatch and every like every every every every time she opens her i just feel like she's like yeah like yeah it's like sad uh totally and she also just wants to fuck around with gabe she wants to fuck around like she's like i don't I'm PDA. I don't mind it.
Starting point is 00:22:11 She's like, yeah, like, I definitely need to move back to Miami. She's like, I love, I live everywhere. I'm a model. I live everywhere. I've model. Florida. California. L.A.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Tallahassee. It's just all place, Jupiter. I, I am really, we, you were saying before we started recording, we need some more bombshells. I'm getting. We know Casa Amora is coming. I really want. there to be somebody that like sets games world on fire.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Yes. Because I don't, I don't think it's Jen. I think he had a better connection with Baya. But I feel like he needs like a bombshell. I think him. I think we need a bombshell for Casey. Okay. So you are not pro Casey and Anaya.
Starting point is 00:22:59 I'm just not buying it. The thing for me, so we watched a lot of conversations between them this week. And the thing for me, I think that Anaya's, I think that Anaya's frustrations are, I understand where they're coming from. Yeah. But I think what kind of got a little exhausting to watch is it felt like there was nothing for him to say to actually make her feel better. Yeah, I really was not understanding what the argument was. It felt like there was like a seed in her mind that then was becoming something really big and problematic.
Starting point is 00:23:37 and that just like wasn't actually based in reality at a certain point. And so I get why, you know, maybe you have passed, you know, an X that did you dirty or maybe the way that he's like moving is making you feel like insecure. But if he's saying you're my first option, you're my first option, you're my first option. And you're the one denying any physical. And you come out of the conversation saying, I feel like the second option. Yeah. What else is he supposed to say?
Starting point is 00:24:06 Yeah. And you could say, oh. oh, actions speak louder than words. He hasn't done anything. And he also has tried to make actions physically. Yeah. I also would feel like, I'm like, what do you mean? Like, we're on the violent.
Starting point is 00:24:18 You're making out with every single person. Right. And she's like, go explore soul. Go explore soul. Go explore soul. And he's like, he's like, I don't care. I don't want to. I actually really need to.
Starting point is 00:24:26 I like thought she was hot when she walked in, but I haven't been like waiting here to talk to her for three days. Also, I have a theory that soul is like. Okay. You know in like get out. how the um how the how the the like maid and the groundskeeper are the grandparents like inside the bodies of like i feel like there's an elderly woman inside of soul's body because of the way like when i like the pixie yeah but when she's doing the front curls with the pixie and then she's wearing the costume jewelry like necklaces and like garage sale clip-ons
Starting point is 00:25:07 and like that is my nana in this woman's body. Yeah, she like came back for the 1920s. Like literally, I'm like, do you put on a plastic bag over your head when it's raining? I'm hearing my nana as well? The like music box from Anastasia. Yeah, like literally, something is spooky. Like I'm like, your soul needs to be freed. I did.
Starting point is 00:25:29 Okay, I felt the pie in the face challenge was tough. That was hard to watch. I felt for her. Because it is like, the thing. thing about coming into this show as a bombshell is like there is literally no there's no point of you being there if you're not going to yeah and it's not like you applied to be a bombshell yeah and and i also thought like the the way that honestly i was a little annoyed that those group of three bombshells didn't cause more chaos like i wish i wish soul would have talked to casey i wish somebody
Starting point is 00:26:04 would have tried to turn Bryce or Trinity's head. We need more villainous energy. That's what makes the show more dynamic. And when it feels like, you know, this week's episode or this week's episode, please, last night's episode ended with the love letter writing challenge. And like a lot of the couplings and stuff on this show, it really only came down to like two or three people that everything was hinging on. But think of how much more exciting it would be if like every couple,
Starting point is 00:26:34 felt like they were being tested in a certain way. And I'm like, why are you only testing one at a time? Right. I'm like, Jen, go hop on Bryce's lap and see what happens. Well, they're old friends. Well, for catalog modeling. That would be an HR issue, I guess. But at the guest, the guest shoot, I don't know what their rules are.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Oh, yeah, I literally had no idea what he was talking about when he was explaining how they knew each other. He's like, I have like 15 girlfriends that are like my work girlfriends. But that's what I'm, I guess that's why I'm now excited for Casa Amor. or just like new bombshells is because I I feel like there's a little too much playing safe going on. Yeah. And it's okay if you really like your connection and maybe

BetMGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with Eye Gaming Ontario. Who's like the ultimate villainous energy in the house for you? I mean, I think that's the issue is that it's kind of nobody. Kenzie is kind of like, I feel like Kenzie is not being held to the same standard as anyone else.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Kenzie is, she's like playing for keeps. Like, she's the one that I think is having the most, like, love islandy. Love Island experience. Because since you're in Melanie, like, they, that was messy for a few episodes, but it was mostly messy to each other. And it does feel like Kenzie is the one that now is kind of like. She's the gazelle being chased by the lion. Just like she wants. Just like she wanted.
Starting point is 00:28:41 Well, she thinks she's like the bachelorette. Like I'm like, she can't. The way she's getting mad though at the other, at the guys. Yeah. To talk to another girl. I'm like, girl, you're literally making them compete for each other in front of you. Well, yeah. And it always felt like she, like, I don't think she and Corbyn are like in love or anything.
Starting point is 00:29:05 She just needs to ride. that she needs to get under him to get over him. I felt like she knew that by playing up the Corbyn thing, she would make Caleb kind of feel a type of way. And then Caleb would feel like he needed to like, you know, fight for her and say how he felt. And I mean, it's funny because when we, when we were recording last week, Kenzie had been single and vulnerable. And like, we were kind of like, oh, like, how is this going to go for her? And now this whole past week, she's been the girl that has the most attention. But also, like, her getting so mad that Corbyn is, like, talking to Melanie.
Starting point is 00:29:43 We're concerned about Melanie's feelings. And she's like, why would he be concerned about her feelings? Also, you know that she knows what she's doing is weird because she's, like, distancing herself from the old girls that she was friends with. Yeah. And now she's only talking really to the new girls. Yeah. And what did we think of her mis- little Edy look that she was sporting in last night's episode.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Well, I always love one thing that I feel like we, people don't talk about is when it rains on Love Island because they are after, you know, after they wake up and get ready in the morning, it seems like they pretty much are required to stay outside all day long. Well, it seems like everything is mostly outside. Everything is outside. And there are little covered areas, like, you know, like the sole ties area, the couch area where they did the recoupling last night. I just love when it's, you can hear the rain happening all day.
Starting point is 00:30:40 You can see everybody looks sweaty because it's, you know, it's 100% humidity out there. It's like they can only stay in certain spaces. And I just, I feel like the energy shifts a little bit when it's rainy on Love Island. Ariana's clip and bangs are looking a little. There was moments when I was like, the bangs are going to, sorry guys, hold on, my bangs flew away. It was very, it was, and I hate to say it, it was a little bit, um, Meredith Marks at the Audrey Hepburn brunch on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
Starting point is 00:31:10 But Kenzie, yeah, it's like she came to that letter writing competition. Yeah, but that, see, like if we think in our head, right, that she's only doing this so that Corbyn is jealous. She wrote Corbyn the letter. Well, because that's the thing. I think that she wanted to make Corbyn jealous enough to pick her. And if think of how messy it would have been, if Corbyn had written. his letter to Melanie, and Melanie would have probably chosen sincere. And then if, if Kenzie was sort of forced to just go back to Caleb, like, I think Melanie, I think Kenzie was, I don't know if Kenzie, I, calling Kenzie smart feels a little touch and go.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Although she knew a lot about vision. She, oh, she's correcting it. She's like, no, 2013's not good. Also the way she was, yeah, she's like, no, it's not. Okay, but as somebody who just got glasses. for the first time a couple months ago. Wow. I had never done like an eye exam.
Starting point is 00:32:09 Really? People are asking me about my person. I'm like, I don't. I have contacts. I don't know what any of these numbers mean. Yeah, I'm like, I don't know how to read the chart. Also, I'm like, so you have better than perfect vision. Right.
Starting point is 00:32:21 She's like, no, 2020 is good. And I have 20, 30, which means what somebody else can see for 20 feet away. I can see from 30. And like, she's looked into this. She went to nursing school. She went to nursing school. Will she ever use the degree? That's the question.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Well, she hopes not. Yeah, she certainly hopes not. No, but she, you know, she has made the decision to couple back up with Corbyn. And I do think that it feels like a good move longer term because now we're going into this sort of like middle period of the season. And she's with the couple that has a little bit more foundation. Yeah. He's been there a little bit longer. Caleb feels like I still don't really remember exactly.
Starting point is 00:33:04 what he looks like. I always forget he's there. Caleb and Soul, I'm like, they get coupled up at the end of the episode just by default. And I mean, I don't think they've spoken to each other more than two sentences the whole time they've been in. I guess when you come in as bombshells, you're not really like supposed to be exploring each other. I was surprised that they kept them. But I know, but I'm just like, are we, now are we going to have to watch Soul and Caleb like pretend to have a connection? There's no way. I'm like, that's it's. She would eat him alive. Eat him like, no. I can't. I don't want to watch that because I don't buy it. You know what else really threw me off was when Bryce decides to polkaida for a chat? Oh my God. What the fuck is going on? I was like, what are you thinking? That, to me, felt like a scheme cooked up by production. It had to be, right?
Starting point is 00:33:57 Where they were like, okay. Because obviously that was when, like, sincere and Melanie had their, you know, stuff going on, So it's not like nothing was happening, but I think the, the like, Zach, Kada, Bryce, Trinity, that whole, like, chunk of the cast kind of had nothing going on. Yeah. And so it really feels like they were like, Bryce, like, is there anyone else in the villa that you would? And he's like, I'm like, Kada A already rejected you. Yes.
Starting point is 00:34:22 And then also the fact that Zach wasn't bothered by it. I was like, if I was Zach, I'd never speak to Bryce again. Yeah. I would be like, what the fuck do you mean? Just like so weird. Because it's like, even if you. you have this crush on Keda, what makes you think that this is going to be? I don't.
Starting point is 00:34:39 I mean, I think he's lucky that it didn't become a bigger thing than it did. Yeah, because Trinity is so cool. Right, because Trinity, I mean, that is the crazy thing about Love Island is that, like, you have to just kind of, like, sit there and take it. Which I could not. You're like, okay, yeah, like, um, yeah, like, obviously you should be exploring, like, totally, I would explore too. That's why we're here, like, I'll explore.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Trinity has never been less interested in exploring. And they keep being like we should explore. There's nobody to explore. And that's why Casa Amor like can't come soon enough. Because I'm like, yeah, everyone's just sitting. Like it's like there's nobody to talk to. Right. And that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Like I think it's because we spend so much time with these people. If it was one episode a week where we were just seeing kind of the highlights, it wouldn't feel so repetitive kind of. But that's one like, I guess, downside of having so many episodes is that they're talking so much about keep it being open. and open to exploring and testing your connection and whatever. And it's like for the last week, it's like with who? Yeah, literally.
Starting point is 00:35:41 I'm like, can we please bring in someone? At this point, it's like, what? So like Anaya is supposed to just like pull, you know, Corbin for a chat? Like, I don't care. True. And I want to see Trinity tested as well. Yeah. So I think that's like, that's my hope for this next like, you know, phase of the season is like we got a,
Starting point is 00:36:03 we got to really like mix it up a little bit more. Amen. And if people, you know, drift and then come back together to their original couples, that's fine. The heart wants what it wants. Are there any Love Island couples still together? Yeah. Really? There's the guy from a few seasons ago, Bergey, who was on Traders with Fadra.
Starting point is 00:36:25 I think he is married to the woman he was with a love island. There's some people from more recent seasons. I mean, Nick and Alandria are. are theoretically still together. That was last season? Yeah, I don't have any tea there, but, you know, people, there are theories. Very interesting. But some people are still really, like, shipping them.
Starting point is 00:36:44 There are couples that, like, last, the UK has had some longer successful couples, too. But it's the kind of thing where it's, like, to me, the point of Love Island isn't, like, to be a couple. Yeah. Soulmate. It's, like, have fun. Win some money. We're like, it's about like finding love, not like finding love.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Which is too bad, you know? Which is, it's just too bad. It's like, it's like, they need to find real love. Somebody should be pregnant at the end of the season. Yeah, that should be, whoever gets pregnant wins. Okay, so how do you feel about sincere and Melanie being back together? It gives, a couple at the mall. Like, like, it gives, he works at the food court, she works at the bikini store,
Starting point is 00:37:33 Yeah. And he's fucking around on her. I don't, I don't, I've been saying this since the beginning. Sincere is not sincere. A lot of people were like, oh, he's so sweet. No, that is a man who, who's dangerous. Because I don't think he even knows that he is like a bad guy in that sense. He's probably not a bad person.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Right. But like he doesn't understand, I think, that what he's doing is as shitty as it is. Yeah. Before, when he was still kind of like, exploring soul and he and Melanie were still going back and forth. Some of the women in the villa were kind of like exasperated at this back and forth. And they were talking about, I think it was like Beatrice and somebody else were like saying how like this whole dynamic is toxic and that outside the villa, this is exactly what it would be like for them. That it would always be chaos.
Starting point is 00:38:26 It would always be mess. And I think Anaya maybe was like, no, you think so. And then Beja is like. but I think they like each other. It's sweet. And it's like, uh-uh. And Bay was like, no, it won't. And that, I think, is so accurate because I feel like we've all been around one of those couples
Starting point is 00:38:42 where it's like they have a connection. It's not that they don't, it's not that they don't like love each other. But their dynamic is so just like drama. Yeah. And that there's always something going on and somebody's always mad and somebody has to make it up to them. And they only thrive when that's happening. Right. It's a very like roller coaster relationship.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Very high school. Grand gestures and coming back together. And this is the, that's who's posting on Instagram with the paragraph caption of my rock, my man, my love of my life. Well, she was already talking about changing her Instagram. Yeah. And to me, like that is so obvious with them. And so it feels like totally textbook to me that they, you know, were in such a bad place for the last week
Starting point is 00:39:34 and then choose to write their love letters to each other because... Which, thank God, he did write that love letter back. Yeah. I would have... My heart would have broken for her. I was scared. Because when Corbin wrote his to Mellon,
Starting point is 00:39:47 to Kansy, I literally go, I was like, Melanie. Because if Melanie's mailbox was empty, it would have been like... We could have gotten like an entertaining crashout, but I actually think it would have just been sad. Oh, it would have.
Starting point is 00:40:01 have been so sad. I think, I don't think she would have crashed out. It would have been a breakdown. I think she's already crashed out enough. I think she's moved on and now it'll just be sad. Yeah. It, it's hard. I hate to say that I see myself in her sometimes. No, that's, yeah. But I'm like, I do. And she used to be a big girl. Yeah. And so that has also kind of given me a different respect for her. I agree. I think that was, it was interesting. One of the best parts of Love Island is seeing like these people's past experiences just being like cold. I sent you yesterday like four different people from the cast have done like commercial modeling
Starting point is 00:40:37 where it's like, yeah literally catalog modeling. Jen's in a Halloween costume. Caleb's on a pool float. Beatriz is doing uh, at leisure. Atleisure. There was another one too. Jen is in a gangster costume.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Like Pimp, Miss Pimp. Yeah. She gives party city catalog. And Melanie used to be a plus size model. Melanie used to be a plus size model. There's photos of her in like a like pretty little thing, like swimsuit kind of. Yeah. I mean, she was gorgeous. She was gorgeous. But it does give me because like as a big person, you face the world in a different way.
Starting point is 00:41:10 Yeah. And especially in dating and as like a young woman too. Like, yes. So I feel like I'm sure a lot of her insecurity is stem from when she wasn't as confident. I would be so interested to hear her like talk about that. Me too. Like I don't know if she will or if she has and we haven't seen it. But it's, It is like, it's an interesting dynamic to add. When I saw that thing and it was like, Melanie used to be like, they literally found a girl that kind of looks like her is AI. And like, there's no way. She would have like some resemblance of a past girl of a past plus size life.
Starting point is 00:41:50 There would be a stretch mark on her arm or something. And there's one scene where she's like woken up and hasn't like put on her lotion and stuff. And I'm like, there it is. I can spot it. There's like one tiny little mark where I'm like, okay, maybe it is actually. It used to be her. No, but she's so beautiful. She's stunning.
Starting point is 00:42:08 And the girl that was apparently her doing the plus size modeling is also stunning. I just, they look different. Melanie one, Melanie two. But I, yeah, no. Mella, you can't call her Mel. Don't call her Mel. I actually like Mela. That's her book.
Starting point is 00:42:22 Don't call me, Mel. Don't call me Mel. I've never seen one. You can't put Mel in a corner. No, but I like, I, I'm happy that. Melanie and Sincere are back together because I think that's like the more productive storyline to follow. And now we're going to set up for potentially new bombshells. Casa Amor is coming. And I still don't trust Sincere as far as I could throw him.
Starting point is 00:42:46 Casa Amor is going to ruin them. And I think Mel could go for it too. Mela. Mela. The thing is, though, what I'm worried about is that Melanie is going to spend all of Casa Amor worried. Worried about what's going on with Sincere. So she's not going to actually explore. She's going to like say she is, but she's going to be like pouting the whole
Starting point is 00:43:11 time. And then they're going to come back together and she's going to be like losing her mind over like, is she pretty other me? Do you like her more than me? Yes or no? Tell me. Tell me. Tell me. I already know sincere. Just say it. Yeah. Just pick. Just pick her. Fine. Pick her. Pick her. Pick her. Explore her. Explore her. What do I care?
Starting point is 00:43:29 Yeah. We'll see, though. And you want to be with her so bad? Melanie gets sincere. Like, I feel like sincere's family won't like Melanie and vice versa. We're getting out of ourselves. You know when there's like toxic relationships like that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:44 And they both will just blame the other for whatever toxicity is going on. Yes. Like, it just seems like it's too complicated. My perfect angel is being ruined by this man. Yes. And they're going to be like, our handsome stand-up son is being let us straight. Wharf Sun is being, yeah, led us stray by this whore. Let us stray by the swimsuit store manager.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Yeah, I need more bombshells. Stat. Gabe and what's her name? Jen. Jen. What are we doing? Do you know you have 30 minutes? Literally, I'm like, make them walk the plank.
Starting point is 00:44:20 I'm over it. They should have to walk a plank, right? When, it is a little. That's the only time we see the ocean. It's a little anticlimactic when Ariana's just like, well, you've been dumped from the island. It's like, you know what? I don't understand. There should be a trapdoor.
Starting point is 00:44:34 When they're going home, right? Why do they have to tell them that they are single alone and going home? Well, because I think sometimes... You're single, you're vulnerable? Sometimes you're leaving the island. Sometimes you can be single and vulnerable and stay for until the next recoupling. I get that. But I'm like, you don't have to tell them that they're vulnerable.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Just tell them they're going home then. because they say that and you see the relief wash over them. It's very like Ariana has an earpiece and she's delivering the lines two words at a time that are being fed to her. And so it's like, they're single.
Starting point is 00:45:09 You're single. And vulnerable and vulnerable. And dumped for the eye. And dumped. And dumped for the eye. Do it again one more time? Like Ariana is finding out that information one millisecond before we do.
Starting point is 00:45:21 You can see her reaction on her face. I'm like, oh, she's a viewer. She's like, oh, um, Beatrice? How do you feel? Beatrice? Can I get a kiss? Do you think that's Corbin's real voice?
Starting point is 00:45:41 I don't know. I don't think. We'll never know. Because there's moments where he says things where I'm like, that maybe was his real voice. I was like... He has like Paris Hilton's fake voice and Paris Hilton has his fake voice.
Starting point is 00:45:54 I like was hung up on this guy for a long time like 10 years ago who absolutely changed his voice. to seem more like... I believe it. And so people do it for years on end. We're in the studio with our Dubai chocolate pistachio shakes and crack that shell, girl. Wait, it literally...
Starting point is 00:46:15 Look at it. Look, it changes colors. Like, sincere changes his personality. Now, in honor of these delicious shakes, we're going to talk about the shakeup of the week in the Love Island Villa. And this week, you know, some episodes of Love Island, there's not a ton going on. No. There's a lot of chats, a lot of exploring. I think the biggest shakeup of the week has to be that Beatrice is no longer with us.
Starting point is 00:46:44 I did think that she had what it took. She had what? She had what, she. I enjoyed the way that she was both exploring her connections. She and Gabe, I think, had a good thing going. I loved when they were talking Spanish to each other. I loved the way that Beatrice. felt like she was invested in exploring connections and had a good thing going with Gabe,
Starting point is 00:47:05 but also she was such a girl's girl. And it felt like she was really helping other people through their journeys and forming connections, like, as a friend. And I think that that energy is important in Love Island because so much of this show is people just losing their minds over things that don't matter. And I love when she can be like, girl, come on. I agree. Dare I say, it wasn't so much of.
Starting point is 00:47:30 a shakeup in the house because it did like, I first saw her going. There was no one there, but it was a shakeup for our hearts as viewers. Yes. Because I was shucking up that now we don't have the guiding star of Beatrice. This show is so interesting because it's a competition show, but it's been 13 episodes and only two people have gone home. And so they really do, you feel it whenever somebody leaves. And with Bea, in person, particular, it sucks when somebody just kind of like ends up on the wrong side of one coin flip. Yeah. And they easily could have said like, yeah, you're single and vulnerable, but you get to stay a
Starting point is 00:48:12 few more days and maybe another bombshell will come and then you'll get back with Gabe and whatever, it'll be fine. But it was literally just like, she goes from being single and vulnerable 10 seconds later, you're single and dumped from the island. Yeah. You know, if she had gone with Sean, this never would have happened. I can't go there right now. If she had picked Sean, we'd all still be enjoying Baya on our screens.
Starting point is 00:48:33 Okay, so I want to ask you, though, I've been seeing, there's a theory that she could be brought back as part of Casa Amor. What? Is that a thing? I don't know. I don't, to me, that doesn't feel, that feels like wishful thinking because. Yeah, because she's going to know all the guys. Right. Like, I feel like the whole point of Casa Amor is that you're really being just.
Starting point is 00:48:58 like turned upside down and anything could happen. Yeah. And that's a shakeup. It's just like, it's not that deep. It's Love Island. Like, I miss Bea. I'm sad she's not there anymore. But at the end of the day, it's like, if they bring back Beah, they better bring back.
Starting point is 00:49:14 Sean. It's been too long. I already forgot about him. Well, he's probably already back in Pennsylvania begging for his police officer job back. Well, the mayor hates him, so he's not getting it. I don't know if he'll get it back, but like, what else is he going to do? I can't imagine. How many?
Starting point is 00:49:27 How many Instagram followers do we think Sean has right now? I can't imagine it's enough to not have to be a police officer again. No. Over 100,000, but not enough to survive. Beatrice, on the other hand, first of all, she's beautiful. Second of all, she is actually talented, a Paralympic bronze medalist and a Love Island, you know, favorite. She should be raking in, you know, she should be on the couch with a shake shack to buy chocolate pistachio shake. Okay, let's not give away our...
Starting point is 00:49:57 Sponsors. No, Beah, if you ever want to come, shake's on me. Yeah, yeah. Shake is on us. If you want to come and we can hear all about what Gabe's tongue feels like. And she knows. And she knows. And honestly, here's, I don't think it's hot anymore.
Starting point is 00:50:13 It's too much. It's too much. So I want to talk to you about that. She got the prime Gabe experience and now the pheromones are messed up. Amen. So I had to wipe her mouth. The pH is off. The pH is off.
Starting point is 00:50:28 Well, this has been fun. Listen, we had milkshakes. We talked about people and that milkshake was delicious. Nobody kissed me in the last hour. That was tough. I just want to kiss. It is crazy. By the time we are back next week.
Starting point is 00:50:45 There'll be what, 46 new episodes? Costa Amor will have begun. So is Casa Amor next week, starting next week? The day that people are going to movie theaters is June 22nd, which is Monday? Mark your calendars. Casa Amor will have arrived. We will have a lot to talk about. And everybody's strap in.
Starting point is 00:51:04 Strap on. Strap on. You're in the hideaway. Yeah, strap on like you're, Kate in the hideaway. Oh my God. Thanks, Chris. Thank you.
