Mention It All, a Bravo by Betch's podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With Dylan Hafer.
Who don't check me, boo?
And Barry Rosenfeld.
I need to start drinking alcohol.
Now go to sleep, we.
Hey, guys, and welcome back to the Mentioned All podcast.
I am Dylan Hafer.
And I am Barry Rosenfeld.
How are you, Dylan?
And I mean, I don't know how today's vibe is.
I don't know if I'm feeling it.
I woke up real groggy, bringing full pajamas to the workday.
Well.
I don't know.
Most days I've been trying to get up and get dressed and, you know, live my most
normal life possible, but today it's just not happening.
How are you very?
And you know what?
You're entitled.
You're entitled to have that day.
But today we are talking about Vanderpump Rules and Beverly Hills, and you know how I
feel about this. So I think we need to literally get into it. Let's get into it. I am not mad about that.
Great. So Vanderpump Rules, obviously the most important thing that happened this week was Stasi and
Bo's engagement. A long time coming. I thought it was really interesting on this episode.
It starts the morning after the Witches of WeHo party in which Stasi is like screaming at
about him talking to Kristen and it's like oh right he's proposing to her the next day like
I know but it was very sweet how the episode started with Stasi apologizing and it was a pretty
decent apology it was pajamas mac and cheese and a genuine apology so then they took on the day
to go mausoleum shopping which is pretty normal in that household I guess okay
I need to know what the situation is with Caccio-Ape mac and cheese.
Okay.
I feel that mac and cheese shouldn't be tampered with if it's from a box.
If you're making box mac and cheese, you just use what they tell you to.
But I guess they like make their own, they add the cheese to another cheese to it.
I don't know.
And the hot sauce, I can't.
But I like how she gave them an option.
It was cute.
The hot sauce, the hot sauce I get because it's just like you put hot sauce in a mac and
cheese, you start it up, it's spicy mac and cheese. It's not my thing. But catch you like pepper
mac and cheese. Like, is she literally just making the box mac and cheese and like sprinkling in some
pepper? I don't know. I don't know. But when we have to get to this, when they showed up,
I was laughing. The whole, this episode was amazing. They showed up to go mausoleum shopping.
And she comes out of the car with like pamphlets. Like she was ready to go. Like they were picking
out of mausoleum. It was so just typical Stasi. Well, it was funny because when they were at the
house, after she apologized, and she was like, so do you still want to go? And he was like, oh,
like, I didn't know if you would want to go. And she was like, no, we're fucking going mausoleum shopping.
First of all, the cemetery was stunning. It was beautiful. But my favorite part about the proposal
was that Stasi thought she was going to know
when Bo was proposing.
And he really truly caught her off guard.
Like she, you could tell she was like,
I'm gonna know, like I'll know, I'll be prepared.
And she really had no idea that that was happening.
And it made me really happy.
Yeah, I definitely would give him credit
for pulling off a true surprise.
I still think he would have made his own life a lot easier
if he had just been like,
giving her a heads up like, hey, it's coming soon because we could have avoided a lot of
arguments in the last few weeks, but overall, like, it was a really good proposal and it was
like special for Stasi. And I did cry, which I hate that I hate that that happened.
I don't love that journey for myself.
I teared up a bit, but I was also getting anxiety because he didn't know where the ring
Like he never did a dry run through of this.
Like he was just trusting his friend fully about where put it placement of the ring.
And I was like, oh my God, what if it's like not at the right bench?
What if it's not there?
What if it got stolen?
I'm sure that was all going through his head too.
But I'm glad everything worked out for them.
I'm sure the producers did a little drive by.
I know.
Okay.
I'm sure the producer texted him was like, okay, well, the ring's here.
I know.
But I like to pretend that that doesn't happen.
but they had a beautiful party at Lisa at Villa Rosa,
where Lisa hosted and served and allegedly cooked,
but they didn't show that.
No, I don't believe for a second that Lisa Vanderpump cooked for that party.
She might have had her staff cook for the party instead of catering it, but no.
Yeah, yeah.
So it's funny because when Stasi's parents,
and family were there to surprise her.
I did tear up at that part
because that's always how I envision
my engagement to be in the future.
Like, I want it to be a surprise.
And then I want my family to be there, like, afterwards.
So I kind of took that, like, personally.
And it was so sweet.
Plus, Nicolai was in the episode again.
Oh, I love when we get to see Nikolai.
I really don't like that the producers
tried to make it look like Sheena was flirting with Nikolai, but...
Oh, my God.
I know.
That was like, that was a little...
ridiculous. Like, we know that wasn't the case, but it was very enjoyable to watch.
Like, she, she wasn't trying to mac it with him. Let's be real.
Um, okay, but so while Bo and Stasi are on the way to the engagement party, they're driving
over to Lisa's house. Um, they get this text from Carter and I'm just going to read the text
because, yeah, don't forget to thank Kristen for hooking you guys up. She made it happen.
And now you and Stasi treat her like shit. That's some cold.
butted shit right there.
I would just like to say that Carter needs to read the room.
Right.
Like, know your place, really.
And you're not good with this group anyway.
No one apparently likes you.
And also, how dare you ruin someone's, like, moment?
He texted like, Bo.
So Stasi technically wouldn't see it.
But like, come on.
That's putting everyone in such a bad situation.
And Stasi said it right.
She's like, this is why I don't like them, you know?
because now she has to deal with that and that's unnecessary.
Well, and it's the kind of thing where I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with the sentiment of that text.
Like I think he kind of, I think they are being kind of bad to Kristen about this whole thing.
But you don't get to text him that 10 seconds after he proposed while he's on the way to the engagement party.
Like bring it up another time, any other time.
And it's funny because later on, when they show.
Brittany and Jack's talking to Kristen, do you think she knew about the text or did not know about the
text? I don't think she knew about the text because I think she was genuine. I think we saw her react
in the moment and like I love that Kristen was like turned on by the fact that he did that for her.
I also, I thought it was really interesting that they made La La La Be like the designated messenger
to Kristen and she called her from Villarosa before Stasi and Bo got there.
being like, hey, so just so you know, they got engaged.
There's a party.
You're not invited.
And meanwhile, she has her own speaker and Katie is standing like two feet away.
That was a little messy.
I think that was so purposefully messy because obviously Kristen knew that she wasn't invited
at that point.
She had already seen it on social media.
And it felt very, the producers told Lala that she was going to call Kristen in that moment.
with Katie there.
Right.
But it was weird because there was a seat for her.
She was invited.
So you're telling me just because of the night before.
And then on top of that, the text, she just wasn't.
There is so much there.
I feel that me and Lisa Vanderpump have a connection.
And Lisa Vanderpump is the one who we've known through all these years
truly doesn't like Kristen.
And she said that she feels bad.
for Kristen. In this episode, she's sympathetic to her. And I was like, thank you. I really do feel bad. And if Lisa
is saying that, there's some truth to that. Yeah, I thought it was strange that they left the open
chair for her. It felt a little bit melodramatic. Like, you can, you can take away a place setting
from the table. It's not that big of a deal. Well, and then they did, like, the voiceovers and,
like, showed her, like, the ghost of Kristen. Also, was, did we see Christina Callie?
at the engagement party, I think she was there.
I don't, I don't, like, recall seeing her,
unless I just, like, truly wasn't paying attention to her,
but I don't know.
There was a woman with, like, beachy waves,
and it looked like KK, and I hope that it was her
because she just wants to be friends.
When Sassie walked into Villa Roseville, my favorite, it was,
I don't know if you necessarily could have heard it,
but Lisa goes,
I have a dress for you too to wear.
You look great, though.
Like, she was so...
Her game, her hosting game, and it was so nice.
But then it was so funny when Brittany went to her interview,
and she was like, nice that Lisa came to our apartment,
but I would have also appreciated a personal engagement party at Villa Rosa as well.
So now we know that Stasi and Bo are top of the totem pole.
Yeah, I mean, Brittany and Jax don't deserve nice things.
So...
They still love eating at Hooters.
So Lisa does not need to waste her efforts on hosting a party for them.
I know, but it was beautiful.
Okay, so then moving on after the engagement party,
we moved swiftly to the Sur versus TomTom softball game,
which I will say I was very much not looking forward to it,
but I was a little bit pleasantly surprised.
I thought they did a fun job of making that watchable.
Yeah, I think it was great. I mean, I thought it was funny how last week, Dana claims that she had bartending skills in her blood. And this week, Sheena, apparently a softball in her blood because her great aunt Shirley was a Rockford peach. And Sheena, that is not how you do a windmill pitch with that little hop skipping a jump in there. But I think she did a great job.
Look, I'm not, I'm by no means an expert on softball technique, but I did love a league of their own growing up.
So I was excited for the Rockford Beach shout out.
I like that we really saw the women dominating in this softball game.
We had Charlie with some skills.
I was, I laughed so hard when Charlie goes, yeah, I'm competitive.
When Charlie goes, yeah, I'm competitive.
It's probably because I grew up without a dad.
And then she said, just kidding.
And I'm like, wait, was that a joke or was it not a joke?
Like, I don't know where to stand with that.
But obviously, Raquel was MVP of the game.
Because you don't know competition unless you are in the, what she say, in the, I don't
remember what she said, pageant circuit.
Pageant circuit, yep.
But she didn't know where to run.
Also, Charlie keeps bringing the comedy at Sir.
We saw her say that she has now.
tried spaghetti two weeks ago at an olive garden. Oh my god, Olive Garden.
It's a slippery slope once you try it. You tried pasta for the first time at Olive Garden? I can't.
Oh my God. I could tell you 10 other places to go. Any other place to go home-cooked spaghetti before
Olive Garden. Whatever. I'm glad that she's expanding her cultural horizons. I'm really excited for that
journey for her.
So some things that we found out also at the softball game, Brett is six foot four.
Did we know that?
I don't, like, I don't know, but apparently he hugs more of like a man than Max does.
So that's what I found out.
I will say that if he is, in fact, six foot four, I kind of get it a little bit more.
I know.
It does make a little more sense.
I'm like, okay, maybe.
And then we also
Poor Brett, I can't
No, not poor Brett
No, I mean every time they show him
He either says how many drinks he's had
He's like, oh, just letting you know
I've have three drinks already
Or they show him like taking a shot
And I do have to say Charlie said it best
When talking about him
That he looks like or sounds like he is one of those guys
That cries during or after sex
Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked
And then we also got a nice moment
of James apologizing to Katie,
which of course it's not the first time
that he's apologized to Katie,
but now that he's getting sober
and working through his issues,
I feel like there's more of a chance
that some reconciliation could happen there.
Yeah, and it does, it wasn't the first time,
but out of all the apologies,
this one did seem pretty genuine.
So we will see how that goes.
But just another minor detail I noticed about two different housing arrangements.
Number one, why has Kristen seemed to be unpacking for the past like seven to eight weeks?
And also-
The boxes are never leaving that house.
Never.
Happening there.
And also, Tom and Ariana, can you guys just like order on, I don't know, just like go on Wayfair or something just to like fill the house for now, you know?
Wait.
But I kind of like the empty aesthetic.
I heard somewhere, I don't recall exactly where,
that apparently Tom, or one of them said,
and we can try and get to the bottom of this,
but apparently production asked them not to furnish their house during filming,
so that way if they needed to use footage that was out of order,
you wouldn't be able to tell that all of a sudden they had gotten all this furniture.
And so it was like from a later scene.
Right, so that's what they production shows.
But remember when Ariana
told us a while ago about her hair,
she had short hair in one scene
and long hair and another, like you, come on.
Why are they choosing them to do all these scenes for?
I would be so mad.
I would want to furnish my house.
You can't win them all.
I feel like they're doing okay.
Okay, any last thoughts on Vanderpumpurals
before we move on?
Um, I don't think so. I think it was overall a really good episode and I'm excited.
I, yeah, this season is coming to a close soon. They're filming their online reunion this week. So it should be an interesting finish.
Should we move on to Beverly Hills?
All these online Zoom interviews. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Okay, so I think we had differing opinions on last night's episode.
Yeah.
You texted me after saying that it was a snooze fest, which I did.
I almost took personal offense to that because I found the episode to be riveting television.
The hour went by so quickly for me.
Okay.
Let me just say it was, maybe I was comparing it to Vanderpump Rules, which had so much going on.
And this episode, it was a snooze fest because the only thing that happened, the only scene was the dinner party.
there were there we'll talk about what happened in the dinner party but like they didn't do anything else
and that's what i would look forward to the most from these ladies um so definitely kyle's dinner
party was kind of the central piece of this episode and there was a lot going on so it was Kyle coming
back from being in north carolina i think filming the Halloween sequel and her family had all of
these balloons, like custom welcome back Kyle balloons. They were acting like she was gone to
Afghanistan for a year. Yeah, it was, it was like she was gone for longer than she was. But another
just small little critique I have that I even told you about this too, they switched too many
intros. Like they went from one house to the other and the other and the other and I know they do
that a lot just to show where everyone's up to. But I was almost getting like dizzy from it. I was like,
Can we just get to the main point of this episode already, which is the dinner party?
I need to know right now who do you think was the best dressed of the evening.
The best dressed of the evening, I would maybe say, I really liked Garcel's outfit.
Me too.
The big tool skirt.
She looked fabulous.
Yeah, and obviously Erica.
Yes.
Garcel, Garcel was pretty quiet this episode, but I feel like she was doing a good job of kind of like taking it
in and making mental notes at this dinner party, whereas our other newbie, Sutton,
was certainly not staying quiet.
Sutton, Sutton, Sutton.
So before the dinner party, the day before, I guess, we had a scene with Rina, Teddy,
and Sutton getting dinner.
And basically, it was a little bit of an attack on Teddy.
Mm-hmm.
Yes.
As much as my, as much as I don't feel like I need to stick up for Teddy, it was pretty brutal for her.
Because we had Rina and Sutton both basically shitting on her for how she invited them to this retreat.
The thing is, I know I always bring up watch what happens live because it's just very relevant.
But last night she explained herself again and I see where she's coming from.
her retreat is for her clients.
So she was basically saying it's for them.
So I would like if you guys come,
but if you don't want to,
like it's not a big deal.
And I think it just,
she said it wrong and it just,
how many more times can she explain herself?
Like we get it.
Sutton,
you want a formal invitation written
and sent to your home next time.
Well, so this is,
this is as good a time as any.
I wanted to share this DM that we got on Bravo by Betches.
By the way, if you are listening and you have thoughts about what we're talking about,
feel free to reach out via DM and, you know, maybe we'll talk about it on the podcast.
But this person said, I don't even think, talking about Sutton calling out Teddy.
I don't even think she was being out of line.
Teddy is so insecure.
She should have been called out on saying she didn't care if they came to the event.
It's not kissing ass and begging its basic fucking manners.
I agree to an extent.
I just think the thing is obviously she did care if they came because she was getting so upset about it.
And so I think when you're an adult and you're trying to make your feelings known, you have to just say it.
And for her to be like, I don't care.
I don't care if you come.
It won't hurt my feelings.
It's like, just say it would mean a lot if everybody showed up because Sutton was because I think Sutton genuinely didn't know how to respond because, you know, she's just.
getting to know Teddy. They haven't been friends forever. So for her to say, well, I mean, I was coming
to support you. But like if you truly don't care if I come, then I don't feel like it's like worth me
supporting. And I think Sutton, the thing, I like Sutton's energy because I think it is bringing up a
lot of interesting dynamics that the other women aren't really diving into. And to me, she seems like
the kind of person who doesn't really have the social skills.
to navigate a group like that.
And so she's not being malicious or, you know, trying to cause problems,
but she truly is like speaking her mind.
And I think it's really interesting because Teddy doesn't know how to respond to that.
Right.
And I do think that it's just two people clashing.
They're not friends.
They don't have anything in common.
And I think the way Teddy said it, if Sutton wasn't in the picture,
the girls would have been like, okay, that's Teddy.
but because Sutton was thrown into that,
she, like, made it this whole big thing.
And so now we will see next week
whether she comes or doesn't, which I'm kind of,
well, we know she comes because we see it in the previews,
but we'll see how that plays out.
But I don't know,
because we see it going on again, the conversation
and kind of, Sutton kind of brings it up
every time they get together, and I'm kind of over it.
Yeah, I did like, so at the dinner at the beginning,
how, so Sutton is really just doing,
she doesn't know what else to say,
but Rina, Rina goes, I'm just going to rile Teddy up.
It doesn't take a whole lot.
I know that was so typical, Rina was funny.
That's the difference.
Rina is trying to fuck with her.
Sutton is truly like, wait, I thought we were supposed to be honest.
Right.
But the thing is, again, we start with this dinner table where there's no place cards.
But we're at someone's house and Sutton is standing there, like, announcing to the room,
I don't know where to say it, I'm uncomfortable.
And I literally was staring at the TV.
She reminded me of a little girl at a birthday party.
like not being able to sit next to the birthday girl next to the cake.
Like she just didn't know where to sit and needed to be told.
And then they all catered to her.
And they were like, son, come sit over here, sweetie.
Like it was kind of just ridiculous.
Again, I don't know production and anything to do with this,
but she sat next to Teddy at the table.
And then like, oh, shocking.
And then they play this game.
Like Renna's like, I have this great idea.
Let's play a game and say how we, our first impression.
of each other and now how we really feel.
And it was so funny, Mauricio of all people called everyone out.
Was like, are these the same ladies I know?
Because everyone was like, you are so nice.
You are so pretty.
You are like robotic.
I love that Maricio was fully just blazed at this dinner party.
That's like his new MO.
His new identity is that he's a stoner.
And I don't think we've ever seen that before this season.
But it's very entertaining.
I love it.
So then everyone's being so nice.
And then Sutton, who's really listening to the directions of the game,
I was like Sutton, just play along with it.
She goes, well, Teddy, honestly, I thought you were going to be a little boring.
And then she just kept going and going.
And my favorite part of these episodes is when they show all the ladies' reactions,
10 out of 10 this season so far,
because their reactions are so funny that they don't know what to say.
They're actually left speechless from half the things that Sutton says alone.
It was great. Derreet was horrified. Garcel was horrified. Lisa Rina was horrified. Faye Resnick didn't know what to do with herself.
Oh my God. And Faye Resnick always has something to say. The morally corrupt Faye Reznik. But she was very well behaved last night.
I love seeing Faye back in the mix. I don't know how much she's going to be around the season. But I love just her presence. Makes me happy.
So I also love Mitz Sutton. She goes, I thought you were going to be a little boring. And then pregnant.
God, help us.
I know.
I'm like, oh, God.
That's what all of us think when a housewife is pregnant
because they don't have the best track record
at, you know, really getting involved in the drama
when they're pregnant.
But, yeah, I don't think she was really being mean to Teddy.
I think she just, you know, was expressing her opinions.
Right, but it's the same thing with her, like, read the room.
Literally read the room in that situation.
But then we get to truly the weirdest part of the episode,
which is when Aaron Denise's husband tries to describe what he does for a living. And I have no idea what he was saying. But I think he's either an anti-vaxxer or a conspiracy.
Weird is an understatement. Weird is an understatement. I don't know. People were texting me. They were like, what's going on? I go, I don't know. I truly don't have. I don't even, this segment's not even taking that long because I don't have words even like pretend to know what he was.
was talking about. But was he also drunk? Like combining what he was talking about, plus also his
natural slurring of the words was just very, I was very weirded out. And if anyone wants to know
what we're talking about, you can go watch that yourself. Because I really am trying to help.
I can't explain to you what he was saying. The strangest part then was when Denise basically said,
don't say too much. We already have people following us. And everyone at the table,
people is like, wait, excuse me, you have people following you? And I'm curious to see how that plays into
the preview that we saw for the rest of the season where she keeps saying, don't talk about it on
camera, you know. Well, I think one thing had nothing to do with the other. I think he says that
they have people following him because they want to know what he's, because of what he's doing is so
magical. But I think there might be more to that story. Because Denise's like, there's that car again.
the impression there is that like the pharmaceutical companies don't like what he's doing because
it's like alternative medicine that gets such incredible results but i have no idea what the
fuck is going on but look who knows um also i thought it was very funny that sutton showed up
to kyle's house backtracking with a bottle of fireball with a bow on it i'm like really
for someone who wears kator that's what you're showing up with a
bottle of fireball? I agree. It makes me think of Summerhouse when they're just chugging fireball and
it really is disgusting. But they had fun with that fireball and at the end of the night we saw
Doreet and Kyle and Faye having a grand old time after everyone else left. And of course,
Kyle threw in a split or two at the party. You know that's when a party ends.
So that's the perfect segue into our number one Bravo Lab in the group, which mine for this week is going
be Doreet. And I've always liked Doreet and really wanted to like her, but I felt like in past
seasons she sometimes was a little frustrating to me. She would dwell on things that didn't
really matter. And this season, I think she's bringing a fun, fresh energy. She's being just the
right amount of messy. I feel like her family situation is like the best it's ever been.
And I'm really enjoying just seeing her live her best life. Cool. My number one,
a love of the group is Raquel. Girl, this girl has grown so much and she has really found her
voice and is her own character. And I'm so glad she's proving everyone semi wrong from what we've
thought about her because she still, you know, does a few funny things of her own. But they always
made her out to be such like an intimidated little thing. And she's like a fun girl.
girl and has a voice and I'm proud and I can't wait to see her the rest of the season,
which is not that much, but.
I was reminded this week of on the banner pump rules reunion when Lala goes,
Raquel, I'm sorry, I called you a twat.
You're welcome.
I love that line so much.
But even in Raquel's interviews, like she has these one-liners and it's funny.
Like she, her and Lala are really coming at each other.
And I like that she's standing up for herself.
but go rock out i'm telling you those those new gals on vanderpump rules they're coming for the crown true oh one
other thing how dare danica not buy peter a pair of socks that it was so rude i was like are you kidding
and then he made that awkward sex stroke and i was like okay got it peter is never not making me
uncomfortable i know but i can't live with him can't live without him
