Episode Date: May 23, 2025

Before diving into a full slate of recaps, Dylan starts by unpacking the latest hookup rumor that’s rocking the Bravo universe. What would Erika and Jesse even talk about? From there, he catches up ...on Real Housewives of Atlanta, weighing in on the deeply layered issues between Porsha and Shamea. Next, he wades further into the new season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, where Whitney and Mikayla’s feud is hilariously petty, and there are more marriage rumors lurking around every corner. Later, he has some hot takes from the Summer House finale, and some harsh words for whoever decided to edit out Paige’s “texting other bitches” allegation. Starting point is 00:00:31 Betches Media presents. Ha ha. Laugh. Funny. Mention It All. A Bravo by Betches podcast. We don't say that, but now we said it. With me, Dylan Hafer.
Starting point is 00:00:41 We're going to check me, boo. Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the Mentioned All podcast. It's Friday. And just like every Friday recently, we have so much going on. And I am so excited to get into all of it. It has been a busy week. We are going to talk about Real Housewives of Atlanta a little bit because I skipped it last week.
Starting point is 00:01:02 And frankly, there's a lot of hours. happening over in Atlanta that I need to catch up on. Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, we're still working our way through season two. I'm going to talk about sort of episodes four through seven broadly this week and maybe wrap up with some final thoughts on the last few episodes of the season next week. Summerhouse season finale, season nine in the books reunion coming up, but we have some important finale things to talk about, maybe touch on the valley a little bit toward the end, but it is a stacked line up today. Just a lot of stuff.
Starting point is 00:01:36 A lot of stuff. And before we even get to any of those, the rumor mill is rumor milling. And I heard yesterday something that I can't quite wrap my little mind around. And that is that allegedly, rumoredly, Jesse Solomon and Erica Jane hooked up. I'm like, what in the Madlibs is this? like Jesse Solomon and Erica Jane.
Starting point is 00:02:02 So this was first, first reported by Des Mois on the, on the De Mois podcast, which, you know, like it's the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Des Mois podcast, and then mentioned it all in terms of, you know, trustworthiness. So up there. And then I was hesitant, you know, I was like, and then page six reported on it. They spoke to a source that confirmed it. So, you know, also we'll see. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:02:28 I'm curious if either of them will respond to this, but it sounds like I think they were on Watch What Happens Live together, and then they were also both at the NBC Upfronts earlier this month in New York. And, you know, reportedly, they got cozy. I don't know, I don't know how much meat on the bone. I think there really is here. I have a feeling, after my initial, like, I roll cringe at this idea, here's what I think happened. I think Jesse remembered. that Erica Jane was in Chicago on Broadway. And I think Jesse said, I'd like to be in Chicago on Broadway. I want to play Billy Flynn. All he cares about is love. I don't think he would eat that up in a good way, but he would love to try to eat that up. So I think he like cozyed up to Erica and was like, hey, hey, hey, can you intro me to anybody over at Chicago? That's what I think happened.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Like they're, I am like they had a wild night in bed. Then they wake up in the morning. and he's like, hey, baby, can you give me the contact for Chicago casting? This is all, I mean, this is not even alleged. This is like truly hypothetical. Jesse Solomon, I think, needs a couple more seasons on Bravo before he would be, like, worth a Chicago stunt cast. You know, Candy had to work her way up there.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Lisa Rina is in a different category. Erica Jane had a whole music career. Jesse Solomon is, he's starting. I don't know if that's a good thing, but he's starting. Jesse and Erica, wedding bells ringing? I doubt it, but we'll see. We'll see. Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Wow, it has been, it's been an interesting little trajectory so far this season. I feel like I was pretty hot on it at the beginning and then kind of have been a little bit neither here nor there, you know, in this midsection. Fadra is going to be back this weekend Sunday, May 25th. My birthday, by the way. my birthday gift is Fadra returning to Real Houseways of Atlanta. So next week we will have Fadra's big return to talk about. But this past week I was watching and I was like, this is some really interesting stuff going on with Portia and Shemia.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Because going into this season, you know, Shemia was kind of a little bit of an unknown commodity. For somebody who had been around for so long, we didn't know kind of what she was going to bring as a housewife. And she has been great this season. Like really a standout performance. But the one thing that we knew about her going into the season was, oh, she's besties with Portia. They've, you know, friends forever before the show even.
Starting point is 00:05:06 You know, maybe she'll be kind of like a lap dog. Maybe she'll be kind of her lieutenant. But, you know, probably two peas in a pod. Or will there be friction in the friendship now that Shamiya is coming on the show full time for the first time after so many years? and it turns out the answer is yes. Now, this is very complicated, and we have not gotten to the bottom of it. There are things we don't know about. Like, we just found out this week that not only do Portia and Shamiya have this layered,
Starting point is 00:05:40 complex dynamic with each other, it goes back another generation. Because we find out that Portia's mom, Mama Diane, and Shamiya's mother were friends, had a relationship before Portia and Shemia were even in the picture. So Portia and Shemia met as kids through their mothers, who then had some drama of falling out, whatever. We don't know the details. But Portia and Shemia stayed friends the whole time. And we've seen in the past, there was a moment in a past season where Mama Diane made like a shady comment about trusting Shamiya or something. And it kind of was like, oh, what's that?
Starting point is 00:06:20 now you're looking back with the context. It's like, it's because she doesn't like the mom. And she probably is, you know, it's kind of crazy to think about. And Shamiya opening up this week and being honest, I think, about the fact that Portia might not be thrilled that Shemma has a peach after all these years. Because for all these years, Shamiya's main role on the show was to kind of sit there. there and listen and weigh in, but pretty much to be on Porsche's side with stuff. You know, she was on the show with candy sometimes, so it's not like that was the only time we ever saw
Starting point is 00:07:00 her, but like Shamiya was never out here, you know, disagreeing or starting her own stuff. And now Shemia says, Portia might not like that I get to tell my side of the story. And, you know, in the past, we haven't even known necessarily if Portia and Shemia had a conflict. You know, there's clearly this lingering thing from years ago about Porsche not going to Shamiya's wedding in Africa. You know, there's stuff about, you know, Shamiya's mad that Portia spoke over her music at the table and the vault. There's a lot of layers here.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And I think the longer that we go with them on the show together, it's going to continue to be really interesting to watch how much they are each willing to sort of go down into the layers of the vault to pull out those days. different things that we might not have always been able to see. I don't know. They kind of come to an agreement. I think Shamiya, you know, I love Porsche. Portia's a great housewife.
Starting point is 00:08:01 All of that being said, I understand where Shamiya is coming from, that she feels like she's not able to get that level of support from Porsche. That it's like, Porsche's going through all this hard stuff with the divorce and, you know, Dennis and Drew and all of that, whatever. but it's like Shemia also, it has to be a two-way street. It has to be a reciprocal thing. And I'm glad that Shemia is sticking up for herself. And I'm really curious to see sort of where their friendship goes as they continue to be on this show together.
Starting point is 00:08:39 I don't imagine that Fadra being in the picture will make it any easier, but we shall see. The other thing from Atlanta, oh my God. Drew and Ralph. Drew and Ralph. Oh my God. There are so many divorce situations happening among these shows that we're talking about right now. I mean, The Valley, it's everywhere, secret lives of Mormon wives. I'm like shouting at the screen for Taylor and Dakota to stop having sex with each other.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Stop having sex with each other. Just don't. Don't do it. I don't like to sex shame or slut shame. You two specifically, keep it apart. Leave room for Jesus. Not like, I don't actually care about that, but like, get away. But Drew and Ralph, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:09:29 So Ralph has been living in the basement this whole time. Drew has been living in the upstairs and she has to leave every other week. I've talked about how this is like the wildest separation arrangement I've ever seen. And then it gets worse because Ralph, changes the fucking key code to the house. So Drew is fully locked out until he decides to like stop having a pissy fit and let her back in. What are we doing here? How is this like, I don't know if this is like a judge, a lawyer, like a court thing, a lawyer thing.
Starting point is 00:10:06 You know, Drew's mom is seemingly really involved. I'm not sure that seems like the best, the best way to. navigate this. I don't know. I mean, I don't know what the right answer is, but I think what's happening right now is clearly like not the situation that we should be moving forward with.
Starting point is 00:10:27 And the scene with Drew and her mom where they're talking through this and her mom, Jeanette, who I have mixed feelings about over her whole tenure on the show. Let's say she seems like a piece of work sometimes, but she's telling Drew like, the way that this is affecting not just you, but also the whole family and that I've seen a change in you
Starting point is 00:10:51 and I've seen a change in your kids. The way that this is impacting them and rubbing off on them, the tension that's in the house, the stress that you're under, the negativity between their parents that are like at each other's throats in court, in the house, in the yard, you know, in the basement. Oh my God. It's, it's so rough. And I'm glad that they can have this conversation because I think that might be something
Starting point is 00:11:20 where Drew on a day-to-day basis is probably like, oh, my God, I'm so annoyed with Ralph. But like, it's not just that Ralph is being a piece of shit in the basement, making her life chaotic. It's going to impact those kids. It's going to impact their whole family dynamic.
Starting point is 00:11:38 And that's, obviously, it's not Drew's fault that Ralph is like, scum on the bottom of my shoe as a person, but it's important to sort of be aware that that is really having an impact. And man, I feel bad for her. It's just like, it's such a rough situation. I'm glad that she is leaving him. But man, this interim period, get him out of the basement. Can she like, can she like flood the basement or something? Can she just Can there be something that happens that makes the basement like untenable to live in?
Starting point is 00:12:17 So he can go, go get a fucking Airbnb. Go stay anywhere else. I don't know. I'm excited to see Fadra come. We'll continue to talk more about Real Housewives of Atlanta because Angela has some interesting stuff going on. Kelly, Britt, it's a good cast. I think, I think this season is like a pretty solid season. It's not like the best ever, but it's so much best.
Starting point is 00:12:43 better than Atlanta has been the last couple of years. And so I want to give them, uh, you know, their, their kudos for that. Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, though. This show, man, this show. I was just talking about Taylor and Dakota a little bit. See, Dakota's in an Airbnb. And they're still having sex with each other. And he's not in the house. He's in an Airbnb. Ralph, get a fucking Airbnb. be. No, but that's bad. And, you know, as much as I want to be like, like, Dakota sucks, clearly. When he's like, oh, well, it's not, you know, like, if Taylor doesn't want to fully be with me, then she should stop sleeping with me. It's like, you stop sleeping with her. If she's not giving you what you need from the relationship, she's not like Ursula the
Starting point is 00:13:31 sea witch luring you into bed. Like, don't have sex with her. If it's going to be so hard for you, then just like, don't do it. You're an adult with children, with a child. One child? He has one. She has three, I think. There could always be more children lurking in Utah. You never know where the babies are. So he gives her an ultimatum, which I, you know, ultimatums are never really where you want to be in a relationship, but also I think it's, it's sort of a fair question that it's like, I either need this to be a committed relationship or I need us to like go our separate. ways and just focus on co-parenting. And I'm like, Taylor, Frankie Paul, government name, Madam Frankie Paul, go your separate ways. Literally find anyone else to have meaningless sex with.
Starting point is 00:14:23 But that's the thing. It's like, it's not actually meaningless sex. And that's the problem. Is they're like, oh my God, yeah. Like when we have sex, it's fine. But like, I don't feel anything. And I'm like, I don't really believe you. I don't really believe you. I don't know. Just like, please. Stop, please stop. She's so unhappy. They're both so unhappy. Just like, stop. But who knows what's going to happen with that?
Starting point is 00:14:46 There's this rumor about Brett cheating on Demi when she was in Italy at Vanderpont Villa. And then, you know, Brett's freaking out in Demi's like, this is what you would be saying if you were guilty. And he's like, I don't know. Like, that to me is kind of a nothing burger. I'm like, I know I haven't watched the last couple episodes of the season yet, but I don't really think. that's going to go anywhere. I know that there's other Vanderpump Villa stuff coming down the pipeline. What I'm really enjoying that I didn't expect from this season is this petty ass feud between Whitney and Michaela. McAla Matthews, she is such a little petty girl. And I love that for her.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Because I feel like season one, it was like Whitney was the villain and Michaela was kind of painted as like the most like the best Mormon out of them. That it was like, okay, like Michaela's really conservative. and she doesn't drink and she's like, you know, such a good girl and she has all these babies so she doesn't want to like, you know, she wasn't really like getting down in the mud with everyone else. But the way that she and Whitney are feuding with each other and the way that Macy is like stuck smack dab in the middle is so entertaining. This episode where Whitney, her whole season arc is just like knocking on the door, begging to be let back into mom talk. And so she's willing to have, she's like, my calendar is open. I just gave birth 12 minutes ago, but I can get a
Starting point is 00:16:12 babysitter whenever you need me. If it's to serve the cause of me getting back into mom talk, I will go get a coffee. I will go on a trip to Scottsdale. I will be at the Friendsgiving with the sourdough in hand. I will do literally whatever I have to. I'll go to the car wash. Just invite me anywhere. So Macy sets up that the three of them are going to get, you know, coffee or if they're not drinking coffee, it's, what do you get when you go to a coffee shop? Because they're not at Swig. Layla has her relationship talk at Swig, which I'm like, oh, yes, adults, drinking coconut cream soda and talking about love.
Starting point is 00:16:53 No, but so, Michaela is really hesitant. So Macy drives her to the meeting with Whitney, and their plan is that Macy's going to say that she has to go, you know, check on picking up the kids or whatever, and she's going to leave Michaela in there. And Michaela's like, I need a safe word. I need a safe word. And the safe word is sisterhood. And she's like, so I'm going to call you and you're going to put the phone on mute. So you can hear our conversation, me and Whitney. And if I say the word sisterhood, you're going to come in and be like, hey, girl, we got to go. Watching this conversation is so crazy. It's just because Michaela does the mute the wrong way. So Macy's sitting in the car on the phone.
Starting point is 00:17:37 but she can't hear anything. So she's just sitting there being like, well, um, okay. I don't know. Should I, like, file my nails or, you know, touch up my makeup or, like, read a book? Or did I bring my Kindle? Like, what's going on? I'm just, like, hanging out in the car. Well, Michaela's inside wanting to die.
Starting point is 00:17:56 She, her being like, I'm three sisterhoods deep. Where is she? Sisterhood is the funniest safe word, because I feel like the whole thing with the say for it is it's supposed to be something that you, like, normally wouldn't really say in the conversation. So it's like, wow, like, you know, if the safe word is like, you know, kazoo and you're like, oh, yeah, like I just am like, you know, it's been really tough. And I feel like I'm just like blowing out both ends of the kazoo. But sisterhood, it's like, these girls talk about sisterhood all the time.
Starting point is 00:18:22 So she's dropping it every other sentence. And Whitney is like, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, right, the sisterhood, yeah. Yeah, no, no, no. For the sisterhood, that makes sense. I don't think it's a good safe word if it's something that your whole, you know, know, life is built around or is allegedly built around. I feel like this season is really putting to the test the idea that mom talk is built around, empowering women and building up Mormon women and mothers because these ladies are at each other's throats. They're on this trip to Scottsdale
Starting point is 00:18:57 and for Macy's celebrity pickleball, whatever the fuck. And Whitney has been on this trip and she's like, okay guys so it's the last morning and I just help you all figure out your TikToks um so now may I please be let back into mom talk I thought they were just going to say yes it's been like six episodes I'm like yeah why why not it's I mean it's mom talk it's not like the Illuminati we can just let people in sometimes but no Jesse's like I think we have to put it to a vote because I want everybody to feel like their voices heard. And I could not believe only one of these bitches votes for Whitney.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Taylor Frankie Paul, the only one. Now, granted, Jen's not there. Jen would have voted for Whitney. Jen has stepped back from filming to focus on her mental health, which, good for you, girl. Do what you got to do. I talked enough about Jen and Zach last week, so I'll just let that be.
Starting point is 00:19:59 But, no, Whitney only gets one vote because Michaela is staunchly anti-Witney, as we know. And so the rest of the girls are kind of like, I feel like I have to be like loyal to Michaela. And so I don't know if like one weekend is enough to like let you back into mom talk yet. But I appreciate that she's trying. You know, Whitney is doing a good job of she's getting the invites. She, you know, production, I'm sure, is telling all these women,
Starting point is 00:20:26 don't you think you should invite Whitney to Friendsgiving? Don't you think you should invite her to the Christmas party? And they're saying yes. Everybody's getting invited to everything for the most part, for the most part. But yeah, we'll see what happens with Whitney. I've been enjoying this season. I think it's a good season. I still am in a wait about 10 episodes all at once.
Starting point is 00:20:49 And one thing I have to, ladies, ladies, ladies, ladies, I don't know if Utah missed some of the cultural awareness that we've gained in the last five or 10 years. but there are two things in this sort of batch of episodes that made me cringe in exactly the same way. And this is when Jen and Zach are in the car together. And Jen is saying that she grew up in the hood. And Zach is like, babe, you're from Provo, Utah. And she's like, yeah, but like I was born in Provo, but then I grew up in the hood. I'm like, the hood where? The like street, the like hood thing.
Starting point is 00:21:26 What are we doing? What are we doing? And then Whitney, for her great Mormon. bakeoff at Layla's Friendsgiving party. She's making sourdote. The whole sourdough thing. I'm like, I can't.
Starting point is 00:21:35 I can't. But she takes her sourdough out of the oven. It's like a normal ass loaf of bread. And she's like, oh my God, it looks so ghetto. What are you talking about? First of all, like, we don't, we don't really say that, Whitney, just like generally.
Starting point is 00:21:50 But also, like, it's a loaf of bread. It's a homemade loaf of sourdough bread that you may or may not have used the starter that Macy gave you way back when, I don't feel we can't go there. There's nothing ghetto about the loaf of bread. It's just like, get a grip. Get a life.
Starting point is 00:22:10 So good, so good. Everything you want for summer is at Nordstrom rack stores now. And up to 60% off. Stock up and save on the brands you love like Vince, Sam Edelman, frame and free people. Join the Nordi Club to unlock exclusive discounts, shop new arrivals first, and more. Plus, buy online and pick up at your favorite rack store for free.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Great brands, great. prices. That's why you rack. Girl, winter is so last season. And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders. That perfect hang on the patio sundress.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've had enough of shopping from your couch. Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope? It's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross. Work your magic. Summerhouse. Wow, what a finale. What a finale. We finally got some closure on Jesse and Lexi, I guess. Jesse and Lexi had their like third breakup conversation essentially. Really, they were just determined to stretch this storyline from the tippity top to the tippity bottom of the season. And, you know, I have mixed feelings.
Starting point is 00:23:35 here, as I have, I think, for the last few weeks, because I think they both have made poor choices. Was it very classy for Jesse to be openly flirting with like a gaggle of girlies at the final party within earshot, eye shot of Lexi, within Lexi's eye shot? No, that wasn't very gentlemanly of him, you could say. But also, Lexi, I think, enjoys a moment. And so when they cross paths in the kitchen during the party, you know, Jesse says hi, Lexi says I have nothing to say to you. And the thing is, Lexi has a lot to say to him.
Starting point is 00:24:16 And she proceeds to say a lot to him. And I just, it feels a little bit like she wants to have her cake and eat it too. Like she wants to tell him to fuck off and to stomp away and leave the room and go touch up her lip-bliner. But she also wants to have the. conversation. She wants another opportunity to drag him on camera. And I understand both of those instincts. But I think the way that she kind of can't choose one or the other makes her case a little weaker. And I still think, you know, Jesse's a fuck boy. Jesse deserves whatever. But it's like, I just wish she would have sort of like left the conversation last week and then just like actually
Starting point is 00:25:04 enjoyed herself at the party. And a big part of that, a big part of her conversation that she's bringing up to him is the idea that she doesn't have these deeper bonds with the rest of the people in the house. And she's blaming him for that. She's saying that he stopped her all summer from forming relationships and getting closer with the girls and all of this. And I think that's just a, it's a toughie. Because it's like, obviously, Jesse was taking up a lot of her focus this summer. but also it's not Jesse's job to be like, hey, Lexi, why don't you get out of bed and go talk to Amanda? Like, you know, it's a, again, it's a two-way street. Like, you have to put in the effort.
Starting point is 00:25:47 And I like Lexi. I think that Lexi has a lot of potential on this show. I mean, she has been very important to this season. The thing for me is that, like, if she wants to be important to the show on an, ongoing basis beyond this season, those relationships are going to be important. And so I think that Jesse, you know, Jesse has this whole own set of issues, but Lexi, I think, like, is probably realizing, like, I might have screwed myself over a little bit by not forming these closer relationships. Because at this point, Jesse's friends with everybody in the house. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:26 Lexi's upset with Jesse for talking to, you know, other people in the house about their breakup conversation and about their relationship, when I think the fact of the matter is like, she's like, well, I haven't talked to anybody. And it's like, well, that's kind of part of the problem. That you've talked to, I mean, we've seen her talk to her mom and her sister, but that it would actually strengthen her position in the house. If she was confiding in, you know, Amanda and Lindsay,
Starting point is 00:26:51 you know, like if it felt like there was sort of that even split. And so I want her. I want that for her. And I think that she can get there. I think that she had a strong enough impact to this. season that she will almost definitely get asked back. Emeril, probably not. I think it's safe to say.
Starting point is 00:27:10 But Lexi, I'm rooting for you. I'm rooting for you. I think that I've been frustrated a little bit, but I'm rooting for her. West, Jesse, I could kind of give her take. I mean, they're fine. They're going to stay. Everybody can come back. The scene at the end with Lindsay, with Amanda, with Paige, this was something we were all
Starting point is 00:27:32 waiting for all season. And people were real frustrated because there was a little bit of a discrepancy in what we were teased and then in what was delivered. And this is because in the season premiere, at the end of the premiere, you know, they have kind of like the big preview for the season. It's cut differently than the season trailer that is like up on YouTube and everything. But in the actual premiere episode, when they're showing clips from this post-Kreg breakup conversation, there's a moment of Paige. She's talking about Craig not defending her with the cheating rumors. And she's saying,
Starting point is 00:28:07 I caught him texting two other bitches during the course of our relationship. Her words, not mine. This was nowhere to be found in the scene that we saw on Wednesday night. And the question is just like, why? Because obviously Paige said it. Obviously they, you know, the audio file didn't get corrupted. The footage was there. We saw it in the preview.
Starting point is 00:28:31 What happened between point A and point Z or whatever the finale is that they decided that was not either important to the edit of the scene or that that was a piece of information that they didn't want to include? Because once it's in the trailer, and this happens weirdly often for something where you know at this point the fans are paying attention. People are watching this show and dissecting it. This happened on Real House Stories of New Jersey last. season. There was a whole thing with Teresa and Louis that was in the trailer for the season that never
Starting point is 00:29:05 happened on the show. And it's so, it's so frustrating because it's one thing when somebody on the show isn't being open and you can sort of sense that. But it feels like a whole different question when it's like, no, the footage was right there. You just like scrapped it. It's so confusing. But I do think that even without that, this scene was really effective for sort of cementing the the pro-page narrative. And I definitely am like Team Page all the way. I mean, like Craig, I don't think he's the worst guy in the world. I have some questions for how this was handled.
Starting point is 00:29:42 You know, the whole thing about I wish you didn't do this before you saw the ring, like, fuck out of here. Paige can buy herself a ring. She's fine. And then the refusal to deny the cheating rumors. She says, I was getting annihilated after this breakup was announced. people were, you know, coming out of the woodwork to say, oh, she cheated, she cheated, she cheated. She called him, asked him, texted him, whatever, if he could publicly just deny this to sort of dead the noise.
Starting point is 00:30:10 And he said, I don't feel comfortable speaking on this, at this time. Just like a little would have gone a long way. These are not people who are, you know, shy about being in the public eye. This whole relationship happened on TV. It just is unfortunate. It's unfortunate. but I really, really enjoyed this final scene, despite being frustrated with the, you know, what wasn't included.
Starting point is 00:30:35 I thought that the Amanda and Paige and Lindsay dynamic, Lindsay, new mother, they're meeting the baby, it's so sweet. I thought that this really worked. And it almost felt like a little bit of a glimpse of what a future could look like on this show or on another show, perhaps. There was a scene earlier in the episode, you know, during the party, Danielle is there. Danielle always lurking on the edges. Love you, Danielle.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Whatever. Where she and Kyle and Lindsay are talking about kind of this crossroads that they're at, whether or not they want to acknowledge that it's a crossroads. It's been nine seasons. Lindsay's, you know, on her way to being a mommy. Kyle's in his 40s. And they're talking about, you know, is this an end? ending. Does this feel like an ending? Kyle's like, I could keep doing this, you know, I got more
Starting point is 00:31:30 summers left in me. Lindsay says it doesn't feel like an ending to her. Danielle's kind of like, girl, girl, it's an ending. She's like, nope, I'm going to be fine. But at the same time, in the confessional, she's like, I mean, I can't be like bringing a baby to the summer house. It really, it is a crossroads, whether or not it's the end, I think is very much up for debate. but you can't deny that like there are some questions to be answered. And I think that Lindsay this week on the show and then on Watch What Happens Live, she and Kyle had a great episode of Watch What Happens Live. And honestly, like one of the more talked about episodes of Watch What Happens Live in a little bit,
Starting point is 00:32:12 like there are some episodes of Watch What Happens Live that kind of just have a little bit more buzz around them. And I feel like Lindsay and Kyle, she posted it's the first time that the two of of them have ever been paired together on Watch What Happens Live, which feels so random. But, you know, they did it. And Lindsay, I think, has really proven time and time again her worth to the show, yes, but also just like as a figure on the network kind of. She has really stuck around.
Starting point is 00:32:40 And I think she's sort of weathered the storm a little bit of people being like, oh, she's crazy. She's unhinged. She's like, you know, psycho woman, blah, blah. blah, blah. I kind of feel like you have to love Lindsay at this point. And you don't have to agree with her all the time. You don't have to like her all the time. But like, really, you're going to hate her? You're going to hate Lindsay Hubbard. Get a life. And I think that she has sort of accomplished maybe what she set out to do. I don't know if she was thinking about this,
Starting point is 00:33:11 but like, I think it would be much easier to figure out whatever questions there are about what to do with her where she can fit, how to make it work, I think figuring that out would be much easier than finding somebody else who can fill her shoes. And so I think the network is, I think the network knows that. If they, if they don't, they're dummies. So this week, you know, we're giving out awards here. This week's award, I'm giving Lindsay Hubbard the Lisa Vanderpump Award for securing the bag because I think that she's done a good job. I think that she will be on Bravo for years to come in whatever iteration. In whatever iteration, you know, they can figure out.
Starting point is 00:33:55 Lisa Vanderpump, you know, just like an icon in staying on TV and staying relevant and pursuing business ventures for herself and making things happen. And I think Lindsay Hubbard, in her own way, embodies that spirit. I forgot to give out an award last week, by the way. But I did have one written down. I just forgot to say it. So I also, while we're at it, would like to give the Vicki Gunvelson Award for Newest Face to Taylor, Frankie Paul's mother, Leanne on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Starting point is 00:34:22 She went in to get the nose done and they did the whole thing. You look great, Leanne. Good sleep is everything. Starting point is 00:35:21 Oh, the Valley was crazy this week, too. Maybe not the craziest it's been. They finished their Santa Barbara trip. You know, Jesse and Michelle still hate each other. Somebody, I saw on TikTok the other day really picking up on one specific thing that Michelle says that is so, so, so, so good. The way she says the word threaten. Threaten. She says threadin. It's a D instead of a T. Why are you threatening me? Threaten. Threaten. I'm going to have to say it. I'm going to work that into every sentence I say now. I'm threatening to do that. You're going to hear it on every episode. That's not a thread. It's a promise. No, but the most interesting thing that happened on this episode was this Britney's Girls' Dinner.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Everybody's coming together after Santa Barbara. Whatever. First of all, Kristen shows up. She greets the group by saying, what's up, biz, niches? And I just haven't heard that in so long. So I just wanted to shout out, Kristen Doty for really leaning into the millennial cringe of it all. That is where she thrives. And I'm glad that she knows it. But basically, like, Nia just wants some apologies for the way that people treated her in Daniel in Santa Barbara. And I thought it was great to see Nia open up. She talks about her past, her experience with homelessness, that there were times where she was living in her car.
Starting point is 00:36:50 And so, you know, that really has impacted how she moves through the world and how she navigates her, you know, her stuff. And she says that it was really hurtful in Santa Barbara that people waited until she left the table to sort of talk about her and Danny and what was going on. And I get that. And she gets some apologies. You know, people are receptive. She's very open. I think it works largely. Except for Janet.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Janet, you know, the atmosphere is like, so open and just like nice and everybody's supportive and kind and oh yeah yeah yeah and yeah. And Janet's like, okay, cool. Yeah. So that's some thing. Yeah, thanks for saying all that. But can I just say that that doesn't change the fact that when I went in the closet in Santa Barbara that daddy was in there taking shots of tequila and trying to hide it and that I don't want to know a piece of secret information that he doesn't want to share with the rest of the group. And that made me really uncomfortable. Sonia, what about that?
Starting point is 00:37:52 Like, Janet, read the fucking room. You just got through a season where you were branded like the most sinister pregnant woman in America. Do you not want people to like you? Do you not want to have like an easier time? Wait till tomorrow. Then bring it up.
Starting point is 00:38:10 You have a literal Disney princess, a literal friend of a princess from Disney, who has just opened up the most, has and is crying about getting kicked out of a parking lot, sleeping in her car, and you're like, just to flag, your husband did make me feel uncomfortable. Janet just doesn't get it. She doesn't get it. You know, like the girls that get it, get it.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Janet doesn't get it. I understand why she was like uncomfortable, but it's like, bring it up another time. This is like a Nia and Danny heavy episode. You know, she, Nia goes back and brings it up to Danny what Janet said. He laughs and, you know, she's like, why did you laugh? And he's like, I didn't laugh. And he's like, yeah, she's like, yeah, you did like a, and he's like, no, I did like a, huh, huh.
Starting point is 00:38:56 And she's like, you know, that's not funny. If you were taking shots to the glass, he's like, I didn't laugh. I just like exhale. I did like a huh. It's like this, watching them, their dynamic together is very strange. I will just say that. I don't know. But the Nia and Janet thing, I'm like, this is so stupid.
Starting point is 00:39:16 So stupid. but also it's like yeah like why are you taking shots in the closet i have questions for everyone i have questions for everyone and we'll get into that more next week um if you have not gone and subscribed to our always on youtube channel uh now is the time to do it because we have some exciting stuff coming up i don't know if you all saw that bravo bachelor's photo shoot interview that was in people earlier this week i had a chance to talk to andrea laventhal who's the special director uh she's the special projects director at people and she wrote this feature.
