Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey everyone, welcome back to the Mentioned It All podcast and to another Friday episode where we have, again, lots to catch up on. We have two reunions that we're getting into. We have Ultimate Girls Trip, which I think picked up the pace a little bit in the second episode. So I'm excited to talk about that. Next Gen NYC, Friendsgiving is wreaking havoc on the group. What will we do? And we've got some new news to talk about. So I'm excited to get into it all.
Starting point is 00:00:31 I'm happy to have everyone back here. A couple of housekeeping notes before we start. Earlier this week, we had the lovely Gina Kirstenheiter on the podcast talking about RHOC season 20. And we are going to keep that energy going into next week where we have Emily Simpson coming on the show. It was great to chat with Emily. And I did, I grilled to her a little bit on Gina's reveal that Emily does not watch the show because, you know, that has been a hot topic with, let's say, Danny Booko in the last few weeks on the Valley. So a great combo with Emily coming out next week. So make sure you're subscribed wherever you watch or listen.
Starting point is 00:01:09 So you don't miss that. But the biggest piece of news that just came through last night. So I had to bump it up in the outline is that we are getting some info about next season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. And the piece of info that we are getting right now is that Tracy Tudor is joining the show. Now, this has been something that has been talked about. honestly for years, something, you know, she's always a name that is mentioned on those kind of, you know, lists of people that could be housewives or, you know, have mutual friends that are in the cast. She's been in the Bravo sphere. If you're not familiar with Tracy, she was on million
Starting point is 00:01:51 dollar listing, LA, from, I believe, season 10 to season 15, which was like the last six seasons of that show that they did, uh, ending in 2024. So she has been a, a, a, a Bravo mainstay for, you know, the last several years. She just hasn't had a show to be on in the last couple of years. But what's interesting about Tracy, she, she's very well connected. I think she has, you know, at least some familiarity with a lot of the women that are in the cast. She's been at BravoCon. I think I had her on this show virtually in like 2020, 2021, like early days, COVID times,
Starting point is 00:02:29 talking about million dollar listing LA. but the interesting thing about that show is that the entire time she was on there, she was the only woman in the cast. Million dollar listing, it was Josh Altman, Josh Flagg, David, Frederick came on for a couple seasons, but she was the only woman. And I was never a huge million dollar listing person. Like, I think we used to talk about it a little more back in the day, but it just never, it never felt like something that was really,
Starting point is 00:03:02 a core piece of the kind of like Bravo environment to me. It just is a little different. And with those shows, I think we're used to now more of the like selling sunset, you know, buying Beverly Hills or whatever the fuck kind of vibe where it's like, okay, this is a show that is set in the world of reality of real estate,
Starting point is 00:03:25 but it really is first and foremost like a show about people fighting, a show about friendship or whatever. And when you watch Selling Sunset, it's like they're all, you know, sitting in those weird, you know, metal desks at the Oppenheim group being like, hi, Brett, hi Jason. Oh my God. What did you say? Why are we fighting? It's basically scripted, allegedly.
Starting point is 00:03:49 But a million dollar listing back in the day, it was mostly about real estate. Like, the people on the show didn't even work at the same brokerage. or, you know, companies or whatever. So there would be crossover moments where the different agents and brokers were in the same, you know, at the same showings or coming to each other's parties. It's not that they never blurred the lines of like business and, you know, personal drama. But the show was really about following the contours of, I'm working on this, you know, $40 million property.
Starting point is 00:04:29 and over the course of the season, I'm going to be, you know, trying to sell this house, doing a broker's open, doing an open house, doing, you know, getting it on the market. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And so for me, it's not that I don't think real estate stuff is interesting at all, but it didn't really scratch the same itch as housewives, as Vanderpump rules back then, as Southern Charm, as these shows that are really, you know, living and breathing people's personal lives. and what's going on in like a friendship group. And so with Tracy, you know, we saw her in situations of conflict in her career. And also she got divorced, I think, in 2018-ish. And so she went through that while she was, you know, in the Bravo sphere. So we have like known her as, you know, somebody who has a life.
Starting point is 00:05:25 But what I'm really interested in is seeing her in the, this more friendship-focused type of environment where the relationships that you have with the women in the group is sort of the whole point. And I'm intrigued by what Tracy could bring to that dynamic. But I also don't know what to expect. I don't, I haven't watched all of her seasons of million dollar listing. I haven't really kept up with her at all since that show ended. And so it kind of feels like a blank slate to me in a lot of ways. ways. And, you know, we had a similar situation last season with bringing Rachel Zoe on, where she's somebody who we've seen her in a professional setting. We've seen her on a reality show where there
Starting point is 00:06:10 was drama, but we hadn't really seen her in this like friendship forward type of format. And it worked. And so I'm, I'm, I think this is a solid move. I think it's a good idea. I think it's a way to bring on somebody who has a public, you know, public career. She has a following. She has, you know, a well-known history. But she isn't, like, completely outside the realm of somebody who knows how housewives works. And so I'm excited to see that. Now, there have been a couple of other rumors in the mill around this week.
Starting point is 00:06:51 And one of those has now been dispelled because along with Tracy Tudor, the rumors really picked up earlier this week that she was going to be joining the show and that we might be seeing Morgan Stewart, also aka Morgan McGraw, that's her married name, but formerly of Rich Kids of Beverly Hills way back in the day. And, you know, more recently, I think she's had like a radio show podcast. I don't know, she's just this, she's somebody, she's done E, she's somebody who has always stuck around as a online, you know, public figure kind of person. She is big into fashion content online. I'm always seeing her like, you know, getting ready to go to dinner videos on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:07:32 And it's like this, you know, fabulous St. Laurent coat and heels that I couldn't walk five steps in. And that's the look. And she, people have really enjoyed her persona for a long time. But she's never been in the Bravo world. I think Rich Kids was on E back in the day. So, you know, same, but very much not. And yesterday, right about the same time that we got the official confirmation, like Bravo collab posted with Tracy, Morgan posted her on her story, like screenshoting people, DMing her, being like, hey girl, are you going to be on Beverly Hills? And she was like, I don't know what happened today for me to start getting all these messages, but no, I'm not joining housewives.
Starting point is 00:08:18 So that has been kibosh, shut down. it's not happening. I think it would have been fun. I like Morgan's vibe from what I've seen. I would have been interested to see her going toe to toe with people like Erica and Derreet. And Sutton. Ooh. But that's not going to happen, at least not as of right now. But the other name that has been, you know, percolating a bit this week, which I think is, you know, good timing with what's going on with Ultimate Girl's Trip is Crystal. Now, Crystal has been off the show for the last couple years, and, you know, when she left, I think some people were sad to see her go. Some people thought she was a little bit, you know, maybe boring on the show.
Starting point is 00:09:03 I tended to like her, I think, more than average, but, you know, I understood why after a few seasons, it's like, okay, we can move on. But Crystal is always somebody who has stayed kind of in the conversation. And, you know, she still has friendships with some. of the women. And on this week's episode of Ultimate Girls Trip, as they make their way from Orange County, you know, the long trek up to Beverly Hills, Sutton hosts this ugly leather pants party. And aside from the main cast of Ultimate Girls Trip, which obviously it's Kyle from Beverly Hills and all the other women, and Sutton, the only other person seemingly that was
Starting point is 00:09:50 invited to this party, this luncheon or whatever, is Crystal. And I'm like, that is really interesting. Now, obviously, Crystal was the wearer of the titular ugly leather pants. So you couldn't really have that party without her being there. But there are a million other references, moments, quotes, memories that you could have done as a sort of throwback moment. moment at Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. In fact, I'm pretty sure that ugly leather pants original day was at Lisa Rina's house, not at Sutton's, if I recall. So it was an interesting choice to me to kind of prominently feature Sutton, who is, of course, still a current housewife, but also Crystal, who has not been on the show. And I don't know. It was nice to see her. I
Starting point is 00:10:50 loved the moment of Vicky meeting her and, you know, Crystal is, you know, giving Vicky her flowers and talking about how, you know, if you guys hadn't started this 20 years ago, none of us would be here. And, you know, all Vicky wants at the end of the day is for somebody to acknowledge to agree that she's the one that put housewives on the map. And Crystal is giving it to her on a silver platter and then we got to the confessional and um vicky thinks that crystal was sutton she goes yeah i love sutton satin sat was very nice do you know that's crystal she goes no who's crystal vicky oh my god i just it was a great moment that that party was fun they did this scavenger hunt by the way two scavenger hunts this week on bravo it's a bit much i don't the girl's trip one was
Starting point is 00:11:44 They were like running around Sutton's yard and all the clues were different references from Beverly Hills. So you had the chic wind chime, the $25,000 sunglasses. That was a fun kind of throwback thing. The e-cigarette from Alison Dubois. The scavenger hunt that they did on Orange County at Fremont Street in downtown Vegas. What are we doing?
Starting point is 00:12:14 I feel like every week talking about OC, I feel like the meme of Tucker Carlson, where he's like, what's going on? What are we doing? Why are we doing scavenger hunts in downtown Vegas? Now, I'm not like hating OC. I've had a great time, you know, talking to some of the ladies. And I think that there is interesting stuff to discuss. But I do just feel like a little bit like what's going on. What are we doing?
Starting point is 00:12:44 They don't want you. I got to get out of the Tucker Carlson cadence because that's a really cursed place to be. But on Ultimate Girls Trip, it was cute. And I thought this episode of Girls Trip was really a step up from the premiere because last week I talked about just being a little unsure of what was the group dynamic really going to be? Where was the momentum going to go? was there going to be kind of a core feeling that existed outside of just, oh, it's so fun to see, you know, Erica coming to the white party and who all's going to be there? And this week, I feel like it really clicked into place because we have a few kind of threads that are going on that I think are all kind of equally, equally interesting to pick at. And let's just say, Vicki Gunvelson is not having the most flattering season thus far.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Because we start the episode. It's, you know, the next day after the quiet woman, they're packing up in OC and schlepping up to Beverly Hills. They have to sit for such a long time on that little limo. But Kyle is emotional because today is her 30-year. wedding anniversary with Mauricio. And obviously, as we all know, Kyle and Maricio have been in a challenging place for now three full years. Yes, Kyle announced her separation from Maricio in 2023.
Starting point is 00:14:28 It's been a minute, but we're still in a little bit of limbo. You know, Kyle's figuring out what she's got to figure out. Mauricio is, you know, making out with people in Aspen and Spain and, you know, wherever else and whoever else and, you know, whatnot. But it's an emotional day, this 30th anniversary. And Kyle ends up talking to Vicky in the morning while she's upset. And there could not have been a worst person on this cast for her to have this moment with because Kyle says she feels, you know, she's talked about this, how it's hard with what's going on in her. marriage because people have always said, you know, oh, you're this perfect couple. We believe in love because of you. And she feels like she let America down. And she tells Vicky that she, you know,
Starting point is 00:15:18 feels ashamed of where she and Maricio are right now. And, you know, any friend, any acquaintance, honestly, any fucking stranger on the street hearing somebody say that, well, don't feel, it's, everybody, you know, it's okay. It's blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But the, but the one person in America who doesn't know how to have a normal human interaction, Victoria Gundelson. And she was, well, yeah, you should feel ashamed. You, um, you know, you, you're showing people, you know, that it's, it's, it's okay to bail out when it gets tough and, you know, it's, you know, it's, you should feel, you should feel that way. Yeah, you should. What's going on? Like, Vicky. Um, Vicky. Now, we know, Vicky is on the record.
Starting point is 00:16:08 as being somebody who hates divorce. And at least in that, she is consistent. We got a flashback on OC this week of Vicky dragging Gina on her first season for getting divorced and for not sticking with it and knowing what Gina went through in that relationship, which is just like a crazy thing to say. But Vicki Gundelson has been married twice. And in addition to those two marriages and divorces, we have also seen her in now two other long-term relationships on the show that didn't work out with, you'll recall Brooks, and also with what's his name, Steve Lodge, the cop. And now she's with this lovely man, Mike, who she loves and loves her, and that's great.
Starting point is 00:17:02 But it's like, Vicky, my God. And she's like kind of leaning in. She's saying, I still feel regret 10 years later about getting divorced from Don. And I wish I would have fought for it. Somebody at the time needed to tell me to shape up. And I just, it's like, okay, if that's how you feel about your relationship with Don who I don't think she like sees or speaks to anymore, fine. If Vicky wishes she wouldn't have gotten divorced from Dawn, good for her. The way she has a projecting this onto everybody else is just like so gross to me.
Starting point is 00:17:43 But Kyle, you know, she says that she's been feeling this. And when they're finally with the group, Giselle is like, Kyle, you're a bad bitch. And that's what Kyle needs to hear. Now, do I, would I like for Kyle and Mauricio to shit or get off the pot at this point? yeah, like I said, it's been three years. At a certain point, you're either moving in a direction of being together again, or it seems like you could probably just kind of call it. But that's not my decision to make.
Starting point is 00:18:16 I'm not inside of Kyle and Mauricio's head talking about this. Who cares? Certainly, it's not Vicki's place to have these kind of opinions, but that's just kind of an appetizer for things to come, because in the sprinter, you know, they're on their way up to Beverly Hills, which, you know, again, it's a little bit of a schlep. It's not a 12-hour drive. They are being filmed. They have cameras in the car.
Starting point is 00:18:41 And Vicky is on both her phone and her laptop working. She loves to work. She just, she's quoting a big client. And Giselle, working woman that she is, professional that she is who's being paid, presumably a nice. chunk of change to be on this show is doing her due diligence and saying, now, Vicky, you know, last night, I heard Lisa talk to me this morning and she said that you were upset last night about me talking to Tamara and telling her what you said about her on the boat and causing a problem at the quiet woman. So let's, you know, let's talk about that. And Vicky is just like,
Starting point is 00:19:29 typing, typing, typing in her computer, not paying attention. And, Giselle is like, hey, can you, eyes up here. Can we, can we have this? And Vicki's like, you know, I'm in the middle of quoting a huge client right now. So I, I'm not prepared to have this conflict. And Giselle, again, she's working too. She's like, well, it's not a conflict.
Starting point is 00:19:59 It's a conversation and it's a conversation that we should have right now. And Vicky is just, she's not having. She's unwilling to close the computer. And the thing for me is that aside from Vicky's like personality that sometimes doesn't work for me, I don't understand her acting like being in this car right now, miced up on camera with the cast of the show that she's been. being paid to be on is less of a work obligation than writing up a contract for some insurance client that she could have done before she left her hotel room this morning. You are on the
Starting point is 00:20:43 clock of real housewives right now. You're committing time theft at your Bravo employer to do work for Cotto insurance company. If I'm the producers watching this, I'm like, Vicky, close the fucking computer, do your work off hours. When you take the mic pack off, then go quote your client. It's weird. It's weird. And I think it's, I think it's also rude and dismissive to the other women in the group to act like they don't have anything going on that they could be working on right now if they weren't working on the show that they are working on. Everybody's at work. Everybody on here is a woman who works. And I just think it's weird to not. act like that.
Starting point is 00:21:30 And Giselle is like, look, you were talking bad about Tamara to anyone who would listen. So you can't really be that mad at me for bringing it up. And then Teresa chimes in because she has had her now, you know, 24-hour buffering time processing, where now she has processed what Vicky said yesterday about her being the person who's changed the most and has decided that that was insulting and now she is upset. And we know, we have seen this in the past with Teresa sometimes, you've got to give a little grace period. She's not always going to, it's not always clocking to her in the moment. But she's going to come back around the next day and be like, yes, so what you said about me, I thought was a little messed up.
Starting point is 00:22:15 And she also brings up Vicky saying that Teresa is overrated, which to me is worse than her saying that she like looks different because whatever. but she finally gets Vicky to say that she actually is jealous of some of the opportunities that other women in the group have gotten, like dancing with the stars, traders, you know, all these other career things. And that I thought was such a, such an interesting thing for her to say because it makes sense. Vicky has always positioned herself as the OG of the OC, the housewife number one, and the original, you know, orange holder, the person who started it all. And in the public consciousness, she's one of the less iconic women in this group. Teresa is iconic
Starting point is 00:23:20 jersey table flip all these moments Porsche is you know she's like the star of the network right now it feels like she is that girl Lisa Barlow has come in on Salt Lake and that show has you know really eaten so many of the other franchises
Starting point is 00:23:37 lunch the last seven years Kyle Richards has that you know OG appeal and I think just has this like sheen of prestige that OC has never really had. It's a different... Vicky is kind of running in a different circle.
Starting point is 00:23:54 And she obviously, you know, is iconic as an original housewife and all of that. And nobody can take that away from her. But she's been off the show for seven years and just basically got a pity orange to come back for season 20. It's not the same. Her phone hasn't been ringing off the hook. And I think that's the kind of thing where when we're on a show like this on Girls Trip, where you have this cast of legends, that's the kind of thing that is really interesting to me to get into.
Starting point is 00:24:24 So, you know, props to Vicky for saying it out loud. I was surprised to hear her say it, but that's not where Vicky's, you know, kind of troubles for the episode stop. Because the first night in Beverly Hills, they're doing just a pajama party at this hotel. And we get to see Luann flirting with her. her boyfriend on FaceTime, which just does spark joy for me. And he's like, yeah, want to show me those,
Starting point is 00:24:53 those, you know, he wants to see her tits. And she's like, I can't do that. I have all these men and all these cameras right in front of me. And she flips it around. And it's like, Luanne literally like, I mean, I wouldn't have been like, yeah, go for it. Well, I'll, I'll look away. Do what you got to do. she just is she's such a vixen she just she's still got it she always will she always has um but then they're going in for this you know room service dinner whatever and louan puts like some piece of sausage or something on on vicky's plate and vicky freaks out and lou calls her a control freak and she's like i don't like a joffrey how do you i just like to me i like to me i like to me Vicky is just too much, too much.
Starting point is 00:25:43 But Giselle says that earlier that day, Luann said that Vicky needs to get laid. And yeah, I don't know. It's interesting because Vicky is in a relationship for a few years and she's like, I'm in a commitment, loving relationship, and that's not your business. But it's like, okay. It doesn't seem like, we're just not seeing a very, like, soft side of Vicky these days, I would say. And if it's in there, it would be nice to pull it out a bit. But as Portia says, Vicky's love language is clients.
Starting point is 00:26:20 And ain't that the truth. But the other thing that happened at this night was they were all just kind of like hanging out. I mean, the Vicky stuff was like a blip, basically. And then they were all just having a good time together. And really, like, enjoying you. other's company in a way that we don't always get to see and especially uncertain franchises like maybe Salt Lake because then Lisa Barlow is in the confessional and she's crying, getting teary-eyed because she's like, it's just been a long time since I've left like this with a group
Starting point is 00:26:59 of girls and it's just like having fun. And she's talking about how with her cast when they're together, it's always some drama and she feels like it's always getting pinned on her, which, I mean, it's a little bit of like, that's a little bit of Lisa Barlow, like, main character syndrome, I would say, like, everybody on Salt Lake has taken their licks over the years, but it is, it's an interesting juxtaposition to show her in an atmosphere like this where she, I think, A, has like a lot of respect for a. lot of the women in the group because she is the new kid on the block relatively within this cast. But also, there just isn't that heaviness and that, you know, escalation of everything that's going
Starting point is 00:27:50 on. And it's fun to see her in an environment like that. It really is. And even, you know, Portia talking about how, you know, she joined Atlanta in season five. And so seeing at that point, She had seen Vicky, Kyle, Teresa, and Luanne all on their shows. And she was a housewife at the time, a real housewife, watching real housewives. And like, that was, you don't think about somebody like Portia having that experience of sitting at home in 2009 watching, you know, Teresa on TV. But it was such a fun little insight to have that kind of moment where Porsche is like, yeah, like, I was a fan of you guys way back. back when. And, you know, Portia is such an icon now that you don't really think of her in that, you know, position. But it was just nice. It was, it was a fun episode. You know, the, at the next day,
Starting point is 00:28:46 they have that party at Sutton's house. There's a little bit of a, a little bit of a Tiff when Giselle is talking about, um, love hotel and sort of a, a girl code situation with Shannon. And just, I was like, and that's why, Kyle, I texted you. the second we saw Mauricio in Aspen and Kat was like, well, and then you also said you would have stripped him. Laid horizontal is the word she used. And you could tell Giselle's a little bit like deer in the headlights where she's like, oh, uh, um, I didn't it.
Starting point is 00:29:20 And it's like, well, she did say that. We roll back the footage. But my favorite part of that is that another, another classic Teresa where she's in the conventional. She's like, I don't get it. Horus what's horizontal? She's like, because you got vertical is like up and down. And horizontal is like side. So then what's crazy to me is that if Teresa Judais just didn't know what the word horizontal meant,
Starting point is 00:29:49 that would be so fine. Honestly, to be expected, part for the course, whatever. But I am obsessed with the fact that she is almost there. She knows what the words are. She knows that horizontal is side to side. But she just isn't connecting that when you talk about being horizontal with someone, that means you're fucking. You're sleeping with them.
Starting point is 00:30:14 You're up in the bed. Teresa, you got to love her. On next gen this week, we get another great Teresa moment when she's helping Gia prepare for Friendsgiving. And she just is like talking to Sierra. She goes, how much time do you cook a 13.7 ham? It's just like the complete monotone talking to whatever like chat GPT. It's just, I also am having fun with Teresa seeing her in a context that is a little bit lighter.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Obviously, it's been a while since Jersey has been on. I don't know what to expect when they come back. But it's fun to see her having fun too. next week we have the white party at Kyle's and it seems like there might be some drama between Luanne and Erica which I'm curious about but excited to see that this season I'm on board now I think it's going to be a lot of fun and I am excited to see where we go from here let's get into our reunions that are happening this week starting with the valley we wrapped up our three-part reunion. We tied a nice little bow on this season and boy, what a season it was.
Starting point is 00:31:36 A real doozy. And I thought this reunion was pretty compelling, pretty engaging. I thought they had enough material for three parts. So I think that was a good decision. But I got to say the biggest, the thing with this reunion is that we spent so much time talking about Danny. and Danny and Nia and their relationship with Janet and their issues with, you know, Jasmine and everybody, like there was a lot of, a lot of talking about Danny and Nia. And at the end of the day, I just don't really know how much progress there is to be made in that direction. because Danny, sure, he can acknowledge that there were certain situations that he didn't handle well or, you know, that he said something that was out of line or he can, you know, admit that he lied about his drinking this time or that time or another third time. And Nia can, you know, like we can talk around certain things that we wish had gone differently or whatever.
Starting point is 00:32:56 But at the core, I just don't believe or I don't feel like we're seeing evidence of Danny and Nia really like processing and engaging with the response and doing that kind of like deeper soul searching of like why are people so upset. set angry put off by the way that we have handled a lot of situations this season, last season, and really done that work to figure out what needs to change. Because they're talking, you know, when Andy is questioning Danny about his drinking and he's saying, you know, we're seeing a consistent, you know, pattern of that you drink and you, you know, have these problems and all of this. And Danny's like, well, I don't know if I would say this. You know, it's not a consistent problem.
Starting point is 00:34:05 And Andy's like, I mean, babe, it kind of is on the show for the last two seasons. We have spent a lot of time and energy on these exact types of situations. And so at the very least, wouldn't you think you would make sure to try and keep those things in check when the camera's around, when you're with people in the group that you know are going to be looking for those types of situations. And I just, I don't feel in any real way that Danny and Nia are interested in doing the work and making real change. And so, you know, to each their own, if they feel like their stuff is working for them right now and they don't see. any problems. They don't, you know, she, Nia's 10 toes down with him and good for great. I just don't really need to see that on the show next season. And I think that's where I am landing
Starting point is 00:35:11 after this reunion that I honestly think everyone else in this cast signed the contract tomorrow. Get those cameras up. This feels like the kind of show where they could do the like, what is it, the Jersey Shore schedule, the Kardashian schedule, where they're kind of just always filming and we get a season whenever it's ready. But I don't think I need to see another chapter in Danny being a drunk dick and not taking accountability, manipulating the situations that, you know, as they're happening. and telling, making up stories about, oh, well, when we were in Mexico and it was my birthday, Lala came stomping in the room wanting to have a problem with me when it's like, no, I watched the episode and that's just not what happened. So, I mean, that's my, if a genie with a lamp came up to me right now and gave me three
Starting point is 00:36:14 wishes, I think one of them has to be, you know, let this show happen next season and let's take Danny and Nia out of the equation. because I think you've got a lot to talk about otherwise. I mean, we got that little, we were talking about Jasmine and Michelle and their little, you know, argument in the finale. And we find out that Michelle didn't go to Jasmine's wedding and that Jasmine unfollowed Michelle on Instagram. And I'm like, I didn't even know y'all fight like that. That's interesting. I would like to know what's going on there.
Starting point is 00:36:46 I also thought it was really interesting, you know, Kristen was in the hot seat for a lot. of her handling of the Danny and Nia stuff this season and specifically the way that she really was giving Danny and Nia the benefit of the doubt to, you know, to great lengths throughout the season, but didn't seem to have that same kind of, you know, Grace and whatever for her other friends on the show, people that she has been really close with, known for a really long time, namely Brittany, Zach, Jasmine, and specifically the, the comment that Kristen made at the lunch when they were in Mexico where she was like, why are we talking about Danny's drinking?
Starting point is 00:37:30 Let's talk about Jasmine. Let's talk about Brittany. Let's talk about Zach in the air drinking when they weren't at the table. And Kristen saying that she was gutted watching that back on TV and that, you know, she cried for two days about it. And, you know, Jasmine and Zach saying it was worse than they even thought it was described to them. and Jasmine really, I think, kind of putting it out there of like, Kristen, I get that you're close with Danny and Nia, whatever. But the three of us are like family to you. We have been, we will be, we are your rider dies.
Starting point is 00:38:13 Treat us as well as you're treating these other people. act show us that we are that important to you that it seems like we should be because I think that's the thing that Kristen is really lacking from this season is like it feels like for whatever reason she has you know chosen her team and her team is Danny and Nia and that everything else is kind of secondary to that and I do think and I talked about this toward the end of the season but if Danny and Ney and aren't on the show next season, I do think Kristen is going to have to put in a lot more work to actually, you know, prioritize those other friendships because as it stands right now, if
Starting point is 00:38:59 Danny and Nia leave, Kristen all of a sudden is a little bit on an island. And I don't think she, she's been there before and I can't imagine she wants to go back. So I think that that's something she should work on a little bit. One thing I didn't love at this reunion, is they bring out Melissa and Benji Jasmine and Zach's partners at the very end with champagne bottles to like do the toe
Starting point is 00:39:32 like they're wheeling out the champagne cart and Andy's like well viewers throughout the season made a whole thing of counting how low their word counts were on the season and I do think that it's a it's a little bit like but why aren't they on the show. Why are they these like silent side characters when everybody else's partner is like a full-time
Starting point is 00:39:55 cast member, Lacey's out on the reunion couch, you know, we're hearing, you know, hours and hours and hours about everybody else's relationship woes? I think it's a little bit of a missed opportunity. Not that, not that Benji and Melissa needed to be on the reunion couch this whole time, but just in terms of like the makeup of the show, it's like, hey, if we're talking about Benji and Zach's, you know, life situation and whether they're going to stay together, whether they're going to have kids, the immigration stuff. Like, that's interesting. And maybe Benji should actually be, like, involved in the conversation that we're seeing
Starting point is 00:40:32 on the show. And I just think it's something to examine that we have a lot of straight couples represented on these couches. And so far, the two queer partners are sort of treated like an afterthought is what I would say. But no, and then, oh, the stuff with, um, we start at the beginning of the episode with the stuff from Jasmine's wedding where it's like, oh, what happened to Jasmine's wedding? Danny, were you drinking? Yes, I was. Um, but Zach says, well, so Britney says that Zach told him that Jesse was told by Nia not to tell Danny that there was an after party from the wedding.
Starting point is 00:41:12 And he is like, no, no, no, no, no. That's not what happened. What I told Zach, what I told Jesse is to please not encourage Daniel to go to the after party because we were staying at the hotel and we were just going to have a quiet night at the hotel. And so I didn't tell him not to tell him that there was an after party because everybody knew there was an after party. What I told him was don't, he shouldn't come. And this is just one of those moments where, and Lala points this out. Nia is bending over backwards, splitting hairs to tell, you know, Big Bad Zach and Brittany that they're so wrong about this situation. And it's like the fact of the matter is there was an after party.
Starting point is 00:42:10 you were employing other people to make sure that your husband, your drunk-ass husband, didn't go to the after-party when if it just seems like the normal situation would be, hey, if my husband and I have agreed that we're going to have a quiet night at the hotel, then that's what's going to happen. You shouldn't need six intermediaries, you know, all on the same page of like, shh don't if you see if you see um danny in the lobby of the hotel watching fifa don't drag him to the after party and what nia deep down what nia knows is that danny would have gotten drunk and just like left her ass at the hotel and they're like i don't know the after party
Starting point is 00:42:54 and they want danny lo lo loo she knows that he is like a toddler like a drunk toddler and she is like doing all these machinations to keep him in line. And it's like, yeah, that's the red flag. You're like standing on the flagpole, but it's like, look up. Look at what color it is. You're explaining this in a way that is not actually making it sound any better. So that's the kind of thing. I just am like, I don't really need to see that again.
Starting point is 00:43:28 The Atlanta reunion, we are two parts out of three of the way through this reunion. And I'm going to keep it short, but three things, three things to touch on from part two of the reunion. First of all, one of the best moments, I would say on Bravo this year, just pure euphoria, Cynthia Bailey's song, The Peach Life. We bring out Cynthia to the couch. and it's like oh let's um let's hear this song and it's like all of a sudden all the clouds in the room just dissipate and this sky is like oh perfect and clear and blue and it's just this oh this like it's like an edm song and it's like sweet life the peach life if you taste it blah blah blah now and then it's like Now what else is going on?
Starting point is 00:44:28 Oh! Everybody is just getting their whole entire life to this song. I have never seen Andy having more fun. Kelly is like sticking her tongue out. Everybody is just absolutely living for this moment. And I don't know. I don't know what was in the air. I don't know what, you know,
Starting point is 00:44:54 They just, they really needed that. And so did I. And I have watched that clip so many times of everybody just losing it for like a quick little 45 seconds. A really a beautiful moment. Cynthia, congratulations. The song isn't even out yet. I'm like, I'm going to presave it. I never pre-save music.
Starting point is 00:45:19 I'm going to presave the peach life. She's so powerful. The other thing quickly is just K-Michel telling this story about hanging out with Shemio's mom at a hookah lounge and that she called Portia a Jezebel and Portia just chimes in with your mother's a Jezebel. And he's like, can we please leave the mothers out of it? I'm just like, using Jezebel as an insult in 2026, a lost art, I would say. We don't do that really anymore. Somebody compared Portia in that moment to Dr. Heavenly from Mary to Medicine because she loves to talk about people's mamas.
Starting point is 00:46:01 Wow. Just Shamiya's not winning that fight. Let's just say. But then the other thing I want to touch on is Pinky talking about her bankruptcy. And, you know, Andy asks her how it's going. She says she's almost done. And, you know, thankfully, what people don't realize is that U.S. bankruptcy law is actually a tool and you know you can really use it to get control back of your situation and you know she's saying
Starting point is 00:46:31 this in a very matter of fact whatever and you can see in fager parks's eyes you know madam fager parks esquire attorney at law the gears are turning the gears are turning and she's just because i just think it's interesting that you that you talk about it as a tool because you had this business and you raised tens of millions of dollars from African Americans. And Pinky just goes, I had white investors too. More white than black. It's like, okay, it's not the, not really the point. But the point that Fajra is trying to make is that you lost a lot of people, a lot of money, and specifically, you lost, you know, people in the black community money, which is a, there's a different, you know, generational wealth and privilege and all of that, that if you're losing people's money,
Starting point is 00:47:24 it carries a different weight. And that now you're on here basically doing this like victory lap of finishing your bankruptcy and that it's, oh, it's a great tool. And I kind of agree with Fadra. I mean, I don't think it's, you know, I don't need to drag anyone for filing for bankruptcy or whatever because it's complicated. people go through bankruptcy proceedings for a million different reasons. I don't know what all the different chapters are.
Starting point is 00:47:54 You know, there's like chapter 11, chapter 13. Do they go in, or like, is it like a book where it's like one through 12? Or do they kind of pick random numbers? I don't know. But I do think it's a little weird that, first of all, Pinky just got here. This is her first season on the show. And Fager says, if you're going to come on the show, this braggadocious, you need to pay your damn bills.
Starting point is 00:48:22 And it's a little jarring to have when you're first meeting somebody on TV, the juxtaposition of I'm a baller, rich business bitch, you know, 10 figure, whatever, franchise. But I'm also maybe also broke, kind of. It's a little bit strange. And Pinky falls back on the, um, I would say probably decade-old dig at Fadra at this point of win a case, which is just like, it's a little lazy because is Fadra even like lawyering like that at this point? Like I know she's been like representing Kelly, but like she's like, what case have I lost?
Starting point is 00:49:05 And Pinky's like, call Bobby Brown. And she's like, you know what? Call Bobby Brown. Because I represented him for eight years. And if he wanted to get another attorney, he could have. and I love seeing this side of Fadra. Because I think that Fadra has been, you know, since she came back to Housewives,
Starting point is 00:49:22 it's not that she hasn't had any sort of moments of going back and forth with anyone, but she hasn't really been in like a true conflict with someone. And seeing her in Pinky sparring on the couch, it kind of lit a fire within me to want to see more. and I think that could be really exciting. I'll just talk about NextGen NYC a little bit because they've got their Friendsgiving this week. And, you know, we're still in this like Ariana love quadrangle at this point because, you know, there was a Friendsgiving group chat that Hudson was in and Ariana told Riley to remove Hudson from the chat.
Starting point is 00:50:06 So that's happening. And Hudson is maybe still going to come to Friendsgiving, but then he can't because his, Lambo catches on fire. At this point, like, why is Hudson on the show? Why are we getting a confessional from this man who has been camped out in Atlanta for the last six weeks? At that point, like, you're not on the show, right? It's weird to me that they're still, like, treating him like a member of the cast. He didn't go to BravoCon.
Starting point is 00:50:34 He didn't go to Friendsgiving. I don't think he's going on this ski trip. Like, do you want to be here or not? And then he's telling us that he has stayed really close with Charlie because he thinks that Charlie is a horrible person. And it's a keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer kind of thing where he thinks that at some point, at some mystical point in the future, Charlie is going to try to manipulate Ariana, which I would argue is already happening. and that Hudson wants to stay close to Charlie so that he can manipulate Charlie out of manipulating Ariana
Starting point is 00:51:16 and therefore unclear whether he's trying to protect Ariana or just like try and put his, play his cards right to be to make Ariana want to get back with him at some point again I can't really get too much into the psyche of Hudson McLeroy because that doesn't sound like a fun place to be but I just am like,
Starting point is 00:51:40 why is Hudson acting like he's playing 3D chess of having this like enemy friendship with Charlie to like game out this eventuality with Ariana when in fact Ariana is going to family Thanksgiving with Liam? It's like, I don't even think, Charlie is your biggest fish to fry at this point. Ariana and Liam are like canoodling in the kitchen they're kissing on camera.
Starting point is 00:52:09 It's happening. It's real. Just like a lot. A lot is going on. And I think I would love for Ariana to be like purely single for like a good six months at this point. Because we saw at the beginning of the season she had just broken up with Hudson. We see that she's, you know, being courted, being. She's a gorgeous girl.
Starting point is 00:52:39 She's successful. She is, you know, has a great personality. Of course people want to get with her. Now it seems like currently, like as we speak, it seems like she is maybe single right now. And it would just, I think it would be, it would be fun for her to just like experience a little bit more life on her own. She's living on her own. She's, you know, people love her on this show. Just like, just like, you know, you know,
Starting point is 00:53:06 Keep it pushing. That would be my advice, but she can do whatever she wants. Hot Friendsgiving, finally, Shai and Brooks make up with each other, I guess. Shy's like, yeah, I don't know. Man, I just like, I don't want to have this like drama or whatever. And Brooks is like, yeah, whatever. Like, I guess I don't want you either. And it's like, okay, just like, it's kind of like two, you know, wet pieces of spaghetti agreeing to make up.
Starting point is 00:53:36 It's like, yay! Yay, the two pieces of Pene aren't fighting anymore. Now they can jump in the pot together. I just am like, I don't know. Their feud always seems silly to begin with, so now it's like, great, you're agreeing to be boring together. The other thing that happens at the end of the episode is that we get the Candy and Todd divorce news dropping.
Starting point is 00:54:04 and, you know, everybody's hearing about it. Riley's, you know, they're like, what's going on with Riley? And so we see the scene of Riley and Ariana talking about it. And first of all, I like that they are together. Because early in the season, there was some challenges with their relationship. And I like that Ariana can be there for her in this moment. But the crazy reveal to me is that obviously Riley knew that Kandy was getting divorced before we did. But Riley did not get a heads up. up from her mom that the public announcement was happening until someone texted her saying, is your mom okay? And she thought it was like some health problem or something. And that, I'm just kind of like, Candy, why would you not tell your daughter like, hey, there's going to be a
Starting point is 00:54:53 statement or whatever? Because I'm pretty sure they like announced it. Just like, we, I don't, I don't love that. Like if my mom was famous and she was getting divorced, I would be if I didn't know like when the TMZ article was dropping, you know? But no, I mean, it's, it's, we talked about the candy and Todd stuff when it happened, but I do think Riley has had a better season as it's gone along that, you know, it was kind of a low point, the first girls night, that, you know, whole situation. I still don't think that she is like a super dynamic member of this ensemble. but at the very least, like I'm, you know, I think she seems like a cool girl and I want her to
Starting point is 00:55:40 like be good. And then at the end we find out that Charlie had Ariana and her friends over to Sesh at like 1 a.m. And I'm just like, I just don't like it. And I know it's not my, I don't, Ariana, why are we doing this? Why are we doing this? Why are we doing this? You could smoke weed at any place you want. In fact, it's legal here now. You could smoke weed on the street. You could smoke weed in a park. And sometimes I do.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Don't go to Charlie's apartment at 1 a.m. To quote, what is it? How I met your mother? Nothing good happens after some certain time of night. 2 a.m., 1 a.m. at Charlie's apartment. Nothing good happens at Charlie's apartment at any time of day. Let's be real. Just no fly.
Starting point is 00:56:37 zone. Don't go there. Go anywhere else. Thanks again to Ford for sponsoring this episode. This week, we are looking back on one of my favorite cast trips of all time with the ladies of New Jersey. You know, the summer is is barreling right along and, you know, it's road trip season, it's travel season. But I feel like, you know, as we get toward the end of summer, like, road trip season is, it's like a feeling. It's a vibe. It doesn't have to end. You know, kids are going back to school or whatever. you can still go on a road trip. I myself am planning a road trip for this fall. And I feel like I'm getting excited because I'm feeling the vibe of everybody else on their road trips. And I'm like,
Starting point is 00:57:21 keep it going. I'm figuring out my activities. Like we have the house booked. And I think we have like the car situation figured out. But it's like, okay, do you want to like stop on the way? Are you doing a big grocery shop? Are you, is everybody bringing their own stuff? Like how you can really choose your own adventure. And that's what I love about planning a road trip. And oh boy, the trip we are talking about this week, it's Real Housewives of New Jersey, season four, when they went on a full RV camping trip to Northern California. Now, this, obviously, I've seen this many times. I've, I've watched all the seasons. But when I went back to revisit it, it truly feels so bizarre that a real Housewives cast is going on an RV camping trip.
Starting point is 00:58:11 Like, imagine any other franchise, any other time, like, it just would never work. To set the scene, this is season four, so you have Teresa, Melissa, they were sort of getting along at the time, vintage, I know, and then you still have the whole Manzo-Larita clan, so it's Jacqueline, it's Caroline, well, Dina was gone. But then Kathy Wakaley, that was a blast from the past. But the whole, like, scenario of them getting to this trip is so funny because it's the midst of Hurricane Irene is happening on the East Coast. So they can't fly out of Newark or wherever they would normally fly. The episode starts.
Starting point is 00:58:55 Everybody from the cast is piling into SUVs and driving from New Jersey to Pittsburgh, which if you're not from the East Coast, those two things sound like they're very close together. that's like a seven hour drive, six, seven, it's a long drive. So they have to drive to Pittsburgh, fly to Houston, and then fly to San Francisco, and they arrive at Camping World. They're at this, like, big box store. It's like, you know, Bass Pro Shop's kind of vibe. They're at Camping World. They have three RVs lined up in the parking lot of Camping World that they are going
Starting point is 00:59:27 to be decking out for the week. And so the whole thing is just so, like, kind of bootleg in a way that we just don't we don't get to see that on housewives anymore. They're they're in the car on the way to Pittsburgh and Teresa and Melissa are like bored out of their minds in the car arguing over the name of a song that's on the radio while Joe and Joe are like going to the bathroom on the side of the road. It is truly so like what is going on. Teresa's wearing these like blue fringe stilettos and Caroline's like Teresa those aren't the right kind of shoes for the for for for for for for for for for and teresa's like yeah but they're like they're like
Starting point is 01:00:08 as techie like like like native american and melissa's like teresa we're not going to an indian reservation she's like yeah but it's the west and she's so right it's the west but they go in camping world immediately it's just like a total free-for-all they have like six or seven carts completely overflowing with supplies. They show the cash register, like, tallying up. And I think they spend, like, $4,700 in camping world or something ridiculous like that. And, like, Kathy is riding around the store on some, like, tricycle that she has found. And Teresa's, like, she looks like the wicked witch from the Wizard of Oz.
Starting point is 01:00:51 God, just chaos right away. And then they take their carts out to the parking lot. They're, like, packing up the RVs. They're divvying up their supplies. They have not coordinated any of this. And like Caroline Manso has this giant box of sausage that she is trying to hide in her RV so they don't have to share. And I really think watching this really made me so nostalgic for not just a sort of like
Starting point is 01:01:19 respectfully low budget trip like this. But also it's not even just a couple's trip. It's like a family affair. this is like a Manzo family vacation. Alby and Chris and Lauren are there. They brought along even more for Greg Bennett is there. This guy named Vito. I don't recall much about Vito, I got to say.
Starting point is 01:01:42 But they have split up into three separate RVs and even then there's not enough space for everybody to have a bed. So after Camping World, they drive like hours more to Half Moon Bay and they pull into like an RV park and Teresa's like it's a parking la we came all this way I thought we were going to be on the beach and it's a parking lot and also they they have them they're driving the RVs themselves like Joe Gorga is driving on the side of the Pacific Coast Highway like careening over the ocean. Greg Bennett is driving an RV. Chris Loretta is driving an RV. They didn't even hire them a driver. Truly, the budget was however much they spent at camping world and zero additional. But they arrive at the RV park. Teresa is horrified. Melissa's like, shouldn't we go and meet the neighbors?
Starting point is 01:02:47 And so they go outside and they approach this like group of like older people who are just like sitting in their camp chairs and they're like, oh, isn't there like a better spot somewhere else? And they're like, nope. And Trace's like, oh, yeah, I just thought it would be like the woods or something. And they're like, you maybe want to go to Malibu. It's just like, I don't know, something, a revisiting this just made me, it really made me think about how far we have come in the world of housewives, in the world of these trips. They, they have like walkie talkies to communicate between the art. RVs. Teresa's yelling in the bathroom about her stomach killing her. Like, they're just, they don't do it like this anymore. And I, they finish off. So much has happened in the first
Starting point is 01:03:34 day. They've been on a true odyssey across the country. And then it ends with like a classic feud that I kind of forgot happened, which is Teresa and Kathy are not getting along. And Teresa is annoyed. She confronts Kathy because she's, she's like, you came to my cookbook signing. I thought that was nice. You were supporting me. But. Then we were flipping through the recipes and you go, oh, that's my mother's recipe. That's my mother's recipe. And I thought it was, you know, and Kathy's like, oh, I didn't, I said that. I don't remember saying that.
Starting point is 01:04:09 And Teresa's like, she knows what she did. And I need her to know that I know what she did. And I just missed the days of fighting over who was claiming whose mother's Italian cookie recipes. And I think that we should get back to that. I would like more cookie recipe feuds in the future. The trip from there I got, it goes kind of off a cliff. A lot happens. It's a long journey in those RVs, but truly I was having so much fun just revisiting
Starting point is 01:04:41 like the absolute schlep that it took them to get there. And, you know, I hope that everybody's road trips that they're embarking on this summer are perhaps a little smoother, but also kind of the beauty. is in the chaos sometimes, and I think that that is nice to remember.
