Mention It All
A Bravo by Betches podcast
We don't say that but now we said it
With me, Dylan Hafer
Who's going to check me both
Hey everyone, welcome back to the
Mention at All podcast
I am so excited
for a new season of Summerhouse
to finally be here
We've got lots of things
to look forward to this season
and I'm excited to get into the premiere
and talk about all of it
with two of our Summerhouse favorites
Kyle Cook and Amanda Patula
Welcome back to the show.
How's life?
Life is good.
Good to be here.
Yeah.
I like the new setup.
Yeah.
Yeah, we're in our swivel chairs.
Yeah, I know.
I'm going to be like this the whole time.
No, I mean, like the conference table, I'm always at home with a conference table, but I like the new vibe.
Yeah, it's a little bit more chill.
You know, Summer House is a chill kind of show sometimes.
Yeah.
Sometimes.
It is kind of crazy.
This is season nine.
Yeah.
You guys have been on this roller coaster for.
for a long time, how are we feeling this year about season nine?
I think we're just like, what happened last summer?
I know, numbed the experience now.
I feel like I was talking to someone about this, that it's just like part of, I don't
know, our day to day.
It just is.
Like, I can't fix it.
I can't change it.
It's like when I take a picture and someone's like, is this, do you like this photo?
I'm like, it's my face.
I can't change it.
So post it whether you want to or not.
That's kind of how I am about the show now.
It just is what it is.
Well, I think, I mean, the fans kind of pick up on this.
There's a lot of downtime between when we film and when it airs.
Obviously, there's a lot of things that have to happen in post.
But as a result, I'm kind of like, what did happen last summer?
Yeah.
So I'm always excited almost as just as much as you are,
just to like kind of remind myself what happened last summer.
And also watch all the parts that we didn't see.
Yeah, all the parts that we didn't see.
I mean, I think the overall vibe, I feel like everybody,
would agree that it was a different kind of summer in a good, good way, like different in a good
way. We had some new romance. We had obviously some kind of like the pieces of some fallout.
Some old romance that is no longer romance. You're just picking up the pieces. But no, it was,
I mean, we still managed to have a ton of fun. Yeah. But yes, season nine, kind of crazy.
I'm like stumbling over my words. I'm like, what's, it's early in the morning. I feel like your,
your cast compared to a lot of shows is just in such a groove that it's like most of you guys
have been doing this for at least a few years now you go back around the same time every year the
setup is pretty consistent like obviously there are you know stories that unfold and and new
relationships and things like that but like it's not like oh what are what are you're not reinventing
the show every summer so it does feel like kind of yeah it's like second nature that it's like
okay, it's like July 4th weekend.
We're probably going to be out the house, wearing the costume.
Yeah, like I don't get invited anywhere over the summer anymore because everyone knows that
I'm gone.
And other shows, you know, the film can get pushed back.
Like ours, it's very regimented.
Like, so there's a lot of structure there and it's just part of, it's built into my life
now.
I just kind of, yeah, go in the flow.
Yeah, we've been able to keep on a schedule where there's a lot of shows, you know,
if there's like, I don't know, some fallout between cast members or, you know, whatever
it might be.
They can always kind of push it back.
I mean, July 4th, the Labor Day.
That's a pretty finite window.
Yeah, I feel like it's like a, it's sort of like a push and pull that it's like,
yeah, you guys sort of have to stick to that schedule, but also, thankfully, your cast has just sort of like worked on that time frame.
Like, I think things could have fallen apart, you know, season four or five, and then it's like,
does Summer House ever come back?
I don't know.
Here we are.
Still going strong.
Still getting it.
The little engine they could.
Kyle, the last time I saw you was at your
fundraiser for supporting the fires in L.A., the relief.
What was that event coming together like for you?
It was a little bit...
I mean, on stage, you probably picked up on the organized chaos,
maybe emphasis on the chaos.
It was, so it started literally a week earlier.
Wait, before you start, I just want to say my favorite part of the whole thing,
because obviously I live with Kyle, so I was privy to all the planning and everything.
that went into it. And every time I looked at his phone, he was getting a new flyer for this event
with another face on it. Yes. So the faces just kept growing. And like his face was always just really
big in the middle. And then like everyone else's faces are getting smaller and smaller around it. Somebody's
on Canva like rearranging. No, literally. It was so, I was like, your face keeps getting bigger and
everyone else keeps getting smaller because there's more and more people coming. I'm like, how many
people are coming to this event.
Good sleep is everything.

So it started City Winery. I had done like a NBC ad sales event where
Carl and I went and we like served lover boy to NBC's like ad sales team.
And I got to know like the guy who handles programming there.
He reached out and it was literally a week before the event we were having the preliminary
discussion because he gave me a couple dates and I'm like if I do anything in February,
I feel like it's going to be too far removed from the actual crisis.
And so I was like, all right, let's just let's, I'll DJ.
Like, like, let's just leave it at that.
You guys order some lover boy.
all DJ, you know, we'll donate all the proceeds, you know, to an organization.
I'm like, shoot, I need to figure out what organization.
And I reached out to Bethany on DMs and then like, boom, next thing you know, I'm like on the phone with her trying to understand more about her charitable work.
And, you know, fast forward to the next day, I find out that Joe and Frank from New Jersey were doing like a comedy routine.
Yeah.
An hour and a half before my event was supposed to stop.
So I reached out to Joe and I was like, hey, any chance you guys would want to help me co-host?
And I already had, you know, Carl and West on board just to kind of help work the crowd while I'm
DJing.
And it just started to snowball.
I mean, we're literally adding people the day of.
I was getting texts and DMs from people being like, what is this event that Kyle's throwing
and like, how do I become a part of it?
And I was like, I know nothing.
I also know nothing.
Just I don't know what to tell you, text him, DMA.
Well, ultimately, we're on the other side of the country.
I feel like people are always trying to find a way to help.
Right.
You feel a little kind of like clueless as to like, you know, what organizations are, you know, the ones you really want to get behind.
So all proceeds, you know, go to people in need.
And that's, you know, that's kind of what led me to be strong.
Talking to Bethany, I knew 100% of her proceeds go to charity.
There's no overhead that she's covering.
You know, everybody's doing a pro bono.
And it's all about then.
It's like how you put that money to work.
So Bethany kind of walked me through what they do.
And I was just like sold, you know.
Yeah.
She's been doing this for years.
And it's, there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes.
And it's pretty remarkable at how, like, effective, like, she is, you know, helping people in need.
So, yeah, one thing led to another.
It is crazy.
I mean, I've been at these Bravo events for years.
Bravo con, fan fest, what have you.
And, like, these people just turn the fuck out when there's, when there's a face on a flyer, they're going to be there.
Like, you know, you have, like, Luke coming out and people are screaming.
And you have West coming out.
People are screaming.
It's like people get so, like people really, it's, you know, it's this like little, like crazy thing that people are just like.
Friday night was truly like a motley crew too.
It wasn't just Bravo too.
We had some comedians in the mix.
We had some of the stars from the new show selling the city.
I was looking at one of the Instagram account for the photographer they had.
And I was like, who are these people?
I'm like, did you invite?
Like, how did all these people end up getting on this, like, the host committee?
I met one of the women.
from selling the city and I haven't had a chance to watch that show yet and she was like
oh yeah like our show just came out on Netflix and I was like oh so you like work in you work in
entertainment that's cool and then I saw her Instagram and I'm like oh you're like selling the city
right right right right right right right right right right right your show just came out got it no
of course I knew that yeah so crazy and I also I met one of your new summer house
castmates this season Lexi yeah what is her her energy she comes in a little hot on the
premiere, I would say.
She's like a Canadian bombshell.
Yep.
So you knew her prior to the season.
Yes.
So we had actually been following each other on Instagram for years.
And then we finally connected in person.
And she's just like such a sweet, bubbly little angel.
Like she truly is just this like she's Canadian.
She's just so nice and so friendly.
And we just got along so well.
You met like what a year prior?
Yeah.
In person.
In person.
Yeah.
But yeah.
she's yeah she's just like super cute and super fun and i don't know we just chatted it up for
a whole bus ride back while drinking a bottle of rosé and we just really got to know each other
and what better way to then to come in hot yeah it is funny because i feel like on this show
you know nine seasons in we've seen a lot of people come through the doors of the house and some
stay a long time some you know less so but i think it's a it's a tough group to crack and i i do feel
like right off the bat, I'm like, I'm getting a sense that she is working on the show,
which is fun.
Yeah.
That's good.
Yeah, I think she came in with like the right idea of, you know, how to make a splash and just really get involved and not take a back seat.
And yeah, she did great.
Would you say we're a hard group to crack?
I think a little bit.
I think maybe that just, it's like all in one, right?
There's a lot of history.
There's the TV element.
There's, you know, it.
a bunch of different personalities.
And the other thing is,
we're all at, like, different stages of our life, too.
Like, across the board with the cast,
everyone's at different stages.
And it just kind of comes together in this,
this, like, weird, functional way that it just works.
But, yeah, I can, I can understand how, you know,
if you're not a total extrovert coming in,
is going to be challenging.
Yeah.
And she's an extrovert.
It's funny.
I mean, like, you guys have,
how long have you been married?
married now?
Three and a half.
Three and a half.
Like it's watching then, it's like, you know, someone new come on the show and
West and Jesse are like, I hear there's a girl.
It's like, it's like, they're still like in the thick of it.
I know.
They were like, oh my God, fresh meat, new blood.
Like, they were like on Facebook, like, let's check her out before she gets here.
Okay, but we also do that every year.
It's true.
It was funny though watching the first dinner.
Like, it literally was like, Jesse and Lexi were like on a date at the dinner table
with everybody.
I'm like, look, you gotta start somewhere.
We'll get ready to watch that for the rest of the summer
because that's essentially they...
Yeah, they literally dove in headfirst.
Yeah, in the trailer, I think there's a moment
where Lexi's like, I want to be clear,
like, we're just getting to know each other
and I'm like, okay.
Yeah, getting to know each other from the inside out.
Whoa.
Yeah, the moment that was like a little bit tough
at that first dinner was Jesse asks Lexi
if she would describe herself as Ditsy.
Jesse, you know, he really
knows how to charm the ladies.
He really knows what to say.
Sometimes I feel like he's just like filling dead air.
Yeah.
Let me say something.
I think though,
to her credit,
I think she sort of accepted that as a challenge.
She was like,
I'm going to show him that I'm not just this like pretty ditsy girl.
You know,
like it's so funny watching people like form those connections on,
on screen.
Oh yeah.
No, we all,
we all witnessed it and we all will watch that relationship block.
Awesome.
For sure.
Burn,
whatever word
you want to use.
I mean, yeah,
they go on all the,
you know,
all the ups and downs
in one summer,
somehow,
some way.
So good,
so good.

Winter is so last season.
And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs.
You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sundress.
Those sandals you can wear all day and all night.
And you've had enough of shopping from your couch.
Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that on
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.
This season, obviously, you know, we watch relationships bloom,
but then also there are, you know, these people that have been in situations in the past.
Obviously, Carl and Lindsay are, you know, the primary example this season.
But West and Sierra are also really, like, navigating that post-whatever phase.
A lot of people are like, just because of the magnitude of, you know, Carl and Zie's breakup,
I feel like people are overlooking the West Sierra dynamic in terms of like two exes, ex-couples like under one roof.
It's an interesting dynamic.
Yeah.
Do you feel like because you guys are, you know, the old married couple of the house?
Like do you, are you like, do you feel like you feel that less or almost are you more in it because you don't have your own kind of like?
I think it goes both ways.
Sometimes I just like can't relate or connects and I'm just like, oh, I'm so sorry.
I agree with that.
Oh, so hard.
And then other times I'm like, tell me everything.
Like I want to know.
I want to be involved.
I think it just depends on the day and the situation.
But I mean, I'm always here for the gossip.
On paper, you'd think we'd want more couples.
Yeah.
But it really doesn't, I don't think, make that much of a big difference for us.
I mean, we have fun.
And we can be kind of independent.
We're not that couple that's attached to the hip.
I think we've said that before where, you know,
I think that would be annoying for everybody, quite frankly.
We were just like making out the whole time all day, every day.
You're like, so what is, like, constantly caressing his face.
What are we bringing him to the table here?
He's like always on his lap and just, you know, just so badly in love.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's, it kind of is what it is.
Yeah.
I think, yeah, it's interesting because.
Obviously, like, your group has kind of gone through different phases.
And I feel like literally every single year, people do this hand-wringing thing of like,
oh, like, how long can this last?
Like, now there's an engaged couple.
Now there's a married couple.
Now there's breakups.
Like, now there's a baby.
Like, I feel like because you guys are this friend group that's been on this journey over the last nine years, like,
it's not just as simple as like, oh, we're not going to have like nine drunk randos in the house.
The show has really evolved, I think, into something more unique than that.
I mean, people have literally watched us grow up a lot of us.
I mean, I started the show up when I was like 25.
I'm 33 now.
So going from your 20s or 30s is a huge thing.
And I think what makes our show work and different is that it's not the same thing every summer.
There is always a new relationship, a new breakup, a new drama, a baby.
Like, there's always something.
It's not just...
Where the baby come from?
Yeah.
It's not just like, again,
nine people just like getting drunk, there's always something different about it and new faces.
And yeah, you're really watching us go through life and figure it out in real time.
And look, I can appreciate where you, you, there's a time in place for a bunch of drunk randos, right?
But going way back to day one, like, Bravo really wanted like an existing group of friends because there's a bunch of shows where you just take a bunch of randos and put them together.
So for you guys be able to kind of come along on this journey where there's evolution and there's not.
Because some of us are a little slow to evolve.
Myself included.
No, just yourself.
What do you mean included?
You are someone.
But no, it's been fun.
And yeah, I think, look, take away the cameras.
Is there a world where Lindsay and Carl will be sharing a house?
I mean, ironically, like, look, they're both important to us.
and all of our friendships have kind of grown over the years and they're unique, they're different,
and I think that we still have managed to make it work.
Yeah, the Lindsay and Carl question going into this season, I think, was really interesting
because I think when we first found out that they had broken up, like, the immediate reaction is like,
well, this is the show ruined, one of them has to go, how is this ever going to work?
And, like, obviously, that's a question we're going to, you know, find the answer to
throughout this season, I'm assuming.
But like, yeah, it would be,
knowing the history of this group,
it would be kind of strange if it was just like,
okay, like Lindsay's staying so Carl doesn't exist anymore
or vice versa.
It really feels like we sort of,
it makes the most sense to like keep kind of following.
Yeah, it almost do like a disservice to like the audience
if you didn't get to see this like next chapter,
even though they went their separate ways.
Right.
And it's like if you were still, you know, close with Carl,
but we just never saw that on the show,
then it would be like,
I don't know.
You would be cutting out something from the show
that I think obviously we've liked to see over the last nine years.
And I give them a lot of credit.
For them to kind of come together
and I'm sure it was incredibly awkward.
I feel like that's kind of where the first episode leaves off.
You know, Carl's kind of going in.
Yeah.
But I give them a lot of credit.
They both knew what they were walking into
and signing up for and they, you know,
put their best foot forward for the most part.
Yeah, I think it's interesting
because they're coming into this summer in such different places.
You know, Lindsay with this new relationship and her pregnancy that she's like super excited
to share with everyone.
And Carl, you know, maybe taking a little bit more time to kind of like figure out, you know,
his...
A lot more time.
What's next for him?
But like both of those paths are things where you could feel like you're going to be judged
or like people are going to have a lot of questions and like, you know, to their credit.
Like they're both here and they're both showing up and kind of letting it all.
hang out. Yeah, no, I give them both a lot of props for that too. You know, they've also been on
this journey from the very beginning and people have watched them go through everything. So,
yeah, I think they felt they had to give it back. And I also think we could have easily slipped
into this broken record routine between the two of them, just if they didn't make it work,
if they could not be in each other's space. But that wasn't the case, right? And I think we've,
you know, some other shows have kind of felt victim to that where there's one's,
storyline, one story art that just dominates.
And obviously it was a huge part of the last season.
And so I think that, again, I'll go back to what I said, right off the bat.
It's a different kind of season.
It's, we don't get this kind of like broken record routine where we're just dwelling
on the same thing.
Yeah, but there were a lot of like moments this summer that I was like, you guys are like
so much like, like Carl would wake up really early and get bagels and Lindsay would go out
and get coffee, but they would go separate and like come back at like a
similar time.
And it was like, oh, my idea.
I was like meant to be the other.
But like you're not at all.
I was like you're like the same person.
Yeah, in a different world, maybe.
Yeah.
Very different world.
I know.
Different lifetime.
Were you?
So Lindsay makes her big pregnancy reveal to the house in the first episode.
Did you guys, did you have like an inkling that that was coming?
Yeah.
I feel like people were, it was like in the streets a little bit.
However you want to say.
I mean, the rumors have been circulating for a long time.
time. I hadn't seen one, there was one time where I kind of like just briefly passed by Lindsay,
I tried to size her up.
She looked really good. I know. I was like, damn, I can't tell. But then I felt like literally
like when we all got to the house, I think Jesse was the first to kind of put it to a test.
He's like, let's do a shot. Yeah. That was, they show her. And she was like, yeah. So they show her on
the premiere, like at the reunion for the last season that she was.
she had put like fake champagne into a crystal.
She had like emptied out a crystal bottle and then like resealed it with fake.
I'm like, girl.
No, doing the most.
I, because we were at some weddings.
We had a wedding.
With her in April.
And I was watching her just grab glasses of wine and like put it to her lips and then put it down and there would be a full glass of wine.
Then she'd grab like another glass when the waiter came by.
And I was like, you have 50 glasses of wine in front of you.
And you've not.
Overcompancy.
Yeah.
Like literally trying.
to make it look like she was drinking.
I was like, this is weird.
The Lindsay Doth protest too much, I think.
That would have been funny if we cameras rolling for that.
She's like wine glasses everywhere.
No, it's crazy.
It is like, you know, to get that kind of like announcement out of the way at the very
beginning of the season, like it definitely, I mean, it's a new, it's a new thing for you
guys as a group to kind of have that energy in the house.
Yeah.
No, it was actually really special.
I think we were all very protective of Lindsay and we all joke around that we were
were all pregnant and that's our baby.
No, it was, it was, I think it was a much needed, I don't know, moment for everyone in the
house to sort of come together and.
Also, I never really thought about this way until now, so bear with me.
Okay.
But it certainly made, it was like a clean break, right?
There's like no lingering Carl Lindsay dynamic whatsoever.
It was like, boom, two separate paths.
and this is a path that's he's always wanted to be on.
And we were all like super supportive and got right behind it.
So, yeah, in a weird way, kind of allowed almost everyone to kind of just like, okay, we're moving on.
Yeah, it's like something else to focus on.
It's like, okay, so this is more important.
Yeah, we're like, oh my head, you're pregnant.
I'm just forget about all everything that happened last year.
Right.
So water under the ridge.
Never bring up again.
I mean, I feel like in this, I mean, in life, but also like on a show like this,
Like you got to just like water under the bridge sometimes.
No, you have to move on.
It was two summers ago where, you know, some of the group we were kind of struggling to get behind the relationship between Carl and Lillian.
So, I mean, like the crazy one 80s did.
They all got behind the breakup.
I think collectively, like everyone.
Yeah.
Not even us, like the fans.
I think it's like you can pick apart the way certain things were handled and the timeline and rollout.
but like, I think we're all doing okay.
Yeah, we're all, we're all okay.
It all worked out.
Wait, it's been fun to see Sierra this season on Traders.
You were like the OG.
I know.
You know, my claim to fame will be three season one shows.
Wow.
I think when I read the concept.
Put it on as great.
I was like, this is made for TV.
Winterhouse.
The Traders.
No, I just was like, I was so excited.
excited when I heard that she got casted just because it's this surreal experience.
Yeah.
It's all the drama has nothing to do with your personal life.
It's just, it's hard to describe.
Right.
It's intense.
And I had this hunch that she did pretty well because she was supposed to come to a wedding.
She was actually come to Andrea's wedding in Italy.
And she never made it.
That was probably a nice reason for it.
like oh i'm in scotland i can't come i mean yeah wedding in italy castle in scotland
but you're like doing those missions i know we haven't been able to watch it yet i you know i
watch so much tv and i love watching it yeah he i know he's going to want to watch it with me so
i've had to hold off i forbid her yeah i was like i don't want to know anything i want to enjoy it
as from an audience perspective so we haven't started yet um we've just been traveling
Yeah, it's killing me. I want to watch so badly.
Well, you're a good, a good wife.
There's plenty of times where I watch a show and I'll finish up.
I'm like, Kyle, I know a great show you should watch.
And he's like, why aren't you watching it with me?
I'm like, because I've already seen it.
So that's very respectful.
Kyle, in the premiere, you talk about wanting to be a really respectful husband this season.
Oh, good.
Get on me.
All right.
Maybe coming home a little earlier.
So you drunk.
How do we feel like that journey, unfortunately?
folded this season?
Well, there was a couple,
there's some decent consistency.
You know, I had a couple oopsies.
But, no, I think, you know,
we actually had a great summer and I,
look, I think sometimes it's a bit of a pressure cooker.
Yeah.
When you are like the one couple in the mix,
there's, there is a lot of like attention.
We've obviously been together for a long time.
There's plenty to pick apart, right?
We are not perfect.
but we had a great summer
and marriage is just about
patience, respect,
trying to make an effort
one little step at a time.
Gotta go faster.
Yeah, maybe big steps.
I'm curious, like, because you guys have,
you know, spent so much of your relationship on the show,
like, has your, do you have like a strategy
for kind of handling or looking at
or not looking at the opinions
and, like, feelings that people have?
Because it's so, you're right.
that people do really, like, you know, there's one interaction at 2 a.m. that's on camera and people
are like, when is, when are they getting divorced? Like, it's like, constantly. And I,
there has to be, like, some screen between you and that, I think. Yeah, I think it was, like,
tough for a while. Um, and it really made me question our relationship because you see everyone
being like, oh, I give them one year. This is going to end a divorce. Like, you know, whatever. Um,
but now I'm just like, again, I'm just, I just, I'm like, okay.
okay, whatever, just keep talking about us.
Sure, we're going to end in divorce.
Like, we'll see.
But, yeah, no, you just kind of have to, like, laugh some of it off
because it's just ridiculous.
And people don't know what's going on in our day-to-day life.
And, you know, no one wants to see us just, like,
getting along all the time.
That's not a fun show to watch.
So. Yeah, and it's, it's, I think the hardest part is the rumors.
Like, when we started filming this past season,
the rumor mill was swirling.
You know, and sometimes it just feels like people are looking for something that actually doesn't exist or the reading between lines that don't exist.
And it's like they're rooting for you to fail, which is a weird feeling.
And that's when you really just kind of have to tune it out.
But no, I mean, it's, yeah, I guess at this point is this kind of part of our day to day.
Comes with the territory at a certain point.
Wait up.
Oh, still married.
Yes.
You're like, oh, that thing I saw in Des Moat didn't come true.
Yeah, no.
Still not pregnant and we're still not getting a divorce.
Well, you know, it's good to check in.
Yeah, you can never know.
Obviously, I mean, the other sort of like couple in the house, you've had the last couple seasons, Paige and Craig.
Craig, obviously not full time on your show, but there's been a lot of crossover.
Were you surprised that they didn't, that they split up?
Yes and no.
I know Paige, like, loved him so much.
And I, like, she wouldn't stay with someone that she didn't see a future with.
But this summer something fell off with her.
And nothing that she was saying or doing, it was just sort of like I could pick up on something was weird.
So when I got the text that they broke up, it didn't.
It was sad for her, but it didn't shock me.
I wasn't like, oh my God, what happened?
I was like, oh, okay.
Like, are you okay?
You know?
And Craig only came to the house once this summer, which, you know, in the past three summers, like, it was at least twice or I think one summer probably three or four times.
So, and Paige's feet seemed like totally fine with it.
Yeah.
And then, look, Paige, I think she's pretty reserved.
Like when she, I wouldn't say.
I don't know if reserves is right word, but...
When she's going through something, she keeps it to herself until she feels like she could really talk to it.
Yeah.
Yeah. And so there was a point kind of towards the end of the summer where Paige kind of opened up to me about some of, you know, some of the challenges that they were kind of dealing with at the time.
And so in the back of my mind, you know, in retrospect, now I look back at it, I'm like, oh, this must have been brewing for her, for it to rise enough to the top for her to feel comfortable talking about or wanting to talk about it.
But, you know, I'm like an open book.
I just blurt shit out.
But, you know, I think that something clearly had been brewing and you kind of started
to pick up on science.
Yeah, it's been interesting because Southern Charm is airing right now.
And so there's like, I think literally the week they announced that they broke up.
There was like a scene between them where they're, you know, still kind of like trying to figure out,
like, are you moving here?
Are we having a kid?
Like, when are we going to get engaged?
Yada, yada, yada.
and like obviously then you know we're going to see a little bit of that on this season of summerhouse so it is kind of like it's like we're watching it kind of unfold like across it's and it's strange experience yeah you know we're just due to the nature of how how this all comes together couples get those questions yeah right like we get the question all the time about kids and moving and and they were you know they were long distance for over three years right so there's there's just one question after another that they're
constantly trying to find ways to answer and be on the same page.
And I think that that'll kind of wear you down.
I'm not saying that that's the root of all this.
But, you know, there is pressure, you know, when you're kind of asked the same thing time
and time again.
And you're like, well, shoot, why, you know, that's what I said last year.
I can't say the same thing.
I said, you know, the previous season.
Right.
If people don't see some, like, you know, moving the pieces forward on the game board,
then it's like, well, what's going on?
Why are you doing?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean,
there was a lot of outside pressure and stressors there for them, too.
And opinions of other people.
You know,
you still see it,
people being like,
she should have moved or he should have moved.
Yeah.
It's when you're in,
I mean,
three years is such a long time.
Like,
you're not,
it's not just like,
you know,
video game characters where it's like,
okay,
get married.
Yeah,
no,
they're real people.
Yeah.
Like,
people want to see,
you know,
their favorite TV people,
you know,
thrive and fall in love and live the fairy
but like this is real life. This isn't a movie. This isn't a TV show. This isn't something
that's scripted. You know, where people are dealing with real things and having to make
really big decisions. I, so we've had a lot of crossovers with Summerhouse, Southern
Charm, obviously a bunch. Vandorpump, I think Tom Schwartz is in the trailer for this season.
Winterhouse obviously was a whole crossover explosion. Are there any like favorite,
favorite moments kind of in that arena that you think back on over the
last like nine years. Oh my gosh. It's been fun to be this like case study or you know
test tube where I felt like our show was one of the first, you know, I think it was season three
where it was um Stasi no yeah Stasi Bo Katie and Tom my God, yeah. And to narrow it down
is tough. Yeah, I mean the Steve Jobs swimsuit is like I think that's a pretty classic moment.
That's like one of the most iconic moments.
No, but I think that actually Tom visiting this past summer was great because he was in just a much better headspace.
I love Tom.
He's such a good dude.
And it was fun to kind of catch him at a place where he was, you know, feeling good and kind of let his hair down.
And we had a great weekend.
There was one point where we just like all those guys had like a sleepover on a trampoline.
And like falls asleep.
Sure.
Why not?
In the rain.
Watching like an 80s movie.
Yeah.
The bros were browing.
Yeah.
It's been fun to see you guys kind of like, I feel like you're like this hub for like, I don't know, the younger generation on Bravo.
Yeah.
I mean, we love when people come by and visit too.
Yeah, there's been so many people that come to our parties that don't even make it screen time.
They're just there for fun.
Yeah, that's a good point.
So we're just at the beginning of this season.
Anything that you guys are really looking forward to seeing
or maybe a little bit dreading, reliving on camera?
There's one fight that I'm dreading,
and I don't even have to, I wasn't even involved in it.
Right, sometimes it's like the second hand.
But I was literally physically in the middle of it,
so I'm not really looking forward to that.
It has to do with my wonderful husband here.
because when does he not get involved in shit?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, aside from that, I mean, again, there's always so much that we're not privy to.
You know, it's like hearsay.
So, to be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to watching the more private moments between Jesse and Lexi.
I think we saw all, there were no private moments.
I think they were all very public.
He's toying with the L word in episode one, so I think we're...
No, he's like, this is my girlfriend.
We're like, do you even know her last name?
Like, do you know anything about her?
He knows her last name because he makes a somewhat crude remark in regards to her last name.
Got it.
The first time they meet, but...
Yeah, I'm sure.
I can only imagine.
Yeah.
Well, lots of season left.
Lots to see.
Yes, so much to see.
And again, I think we saw it all.
I don't know.
There's a lot that happens to be, you know, they went on, like, dates.
Maybe additional, but I think we, we got a good idea of what goes on behind close doors.
I just want, I want explanations.
You're like, it's not, we haven't seen it all, but it's not necessarily a mystery.
Yeah, no.
We know how it ends up, but I want to understand, like, the intricacies of how it all went down.
Okay, well.
Buckle your seatbelt.
We'll see.
We'll, we'll map it all.
This is always so fun.
Thanks, guys, for being here.
Yeah, of course. Thank you.
