Starting point is 00:00:31 Betches Media presents. Ha ha. Laugh. Funny. Mention It All. A Bravo by Betches podcast. We don't say that, but now we said it. With me, Dylan Hafer.
Starting point is 00:00:41 We're going to check me, both. Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the Mention at All podcast. We have made it out of October and into a new month. Spooky season is over, but the jokes on us because it's actually, it's the spookiest season of all. It's election week. I know that we usually, uh, we stick to the Bravo topics on here.
Starting point is 00:01:04 don't let the real world affect what we're talking about too much. But I do just want to give a one little last minute plea, I guess, to go vote if you haven't done so already. If you're waiting until election date to vote, make sure that you have a plan and make sure that you give yourself plenty of time. And if you're in line when they close the polls, stay in line. I was able to early vote in the great state of New York. So thankfully, I will be able to stay at home under a blanket tomorrow and just, I guess, twiddle my thumbs until hopefully there is good news, but please vote. Make sure that you're voting. And, you know, we've seen, it's, it is fun for me seeing some of our housewives, our Bravo Lebrities getting out the vote. You know, I saw Shiree.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Shiree was like making an appearance at a like get out the vote rally this weekend. And I'm like, look at Shire Whitfield, getting out the vote, you know, getting those at Atlanta citizens, you know, Atlanta is a, you know, it's a hot spot when it comes to democracy these days. It's a true swing state. And Sherey Whitfield, she's getting everybody out to vote. Fadra voted. Sierra from Summerhouse was at Kamala Harris's, like, closing speech at the White House last week. I was like, damn, okay, Sierra.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Jenna Lyons voted with her son. It is, it's nice to see our Bravo Labs getting involved in the process. democracy because I think sometimes people assume that housewives don't vote and you know Vandermpump servers don't vote and look I'm sure there are plenty of women don't vote but like we can't all be Tinsley in 2016 because that would just be irresponsible but sending my love to Carol Radzwell this week because I'm sure that she is going through it just like the rest of us but in terms of going through it today we have lots to talk about on the outline of course the Real Housewives of Orange County finale aired last Thursday, and I have not had a chance to talk
Starting point is 00:03:04 about it yet. So I'm excited to share some sort of like pick up thoughts from that. Honestly, the finale, not a bad finale by any means, but not quite as explosive, as like, you know, life altering as perhaps I kind of thought it might be. I don't know. I enjoyed it. I don't want to speak ill of it. But also Real Housewives of Potomac, really probably with the spiciest episode, of their season. Thus far, that Lake Norman trip, God, get these girlies out of that house, because I don't know what it is, but they cannot go like 10 minutes without having an argument. So I'm excited to get into that because I feel like the sort of battle lines are really starting to be drawn this season on Potomac. But before we get to that, some wild news out of Southern
Starting point is 00:03:52 California the other day, Teddy Mellencamp, Teddy Joe, Mellencamp, Ereyeva, filing for divorce from her husband, Edwin. This, for the amount that I, um, don't give a shit about Teddy, which is like medium, I don't, I don't hate her as much as some people, but also she's kind of a non-factor to me. Like, a tuti's, you know, it's, it's its own little empire. Congratulations to them. But like, in terms of like actual on-screen housewives, like when she was on OC earlier this season, it's giving me nothing.
Starting point is 00:04:27 But this divorce announcement, I think. took a lot of people, myself included by surprise, and I'm just going to read what she wrote. It's a black background with a white little typewriter-ish-looking font. Two little paragraphs, so I'll just read them both. It's not too long. After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and well-being throughout this new chapter. Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do, but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest, and vulnerable was the best path
Starting point is 00:05:13 forward. Pretty, you know, pretty low-key, nothing too out there about this statement. I think it's interesting when people who have made their career being, on reality TV and then after they're fired from reality TV continuing to do a reality TV themed podcast with a more famous reality TV star. I think it's a little funny when she's like, I didn't want to make a statement. I don't want attention. It's like, okay. Yeah, I guess that this is probably not the most fun post that anybody is going to make in their life when they're like announcing their divorce. But I do feel like it is a little bit like, you know, of course you have to make a statement.
Starting point is 00:06:00 If you're never going to be seen with your husband again and you're never going to wear a ring and you're going to date other people and you're probably going to talk about it on your podcast. I mean, think about two T's in the pod. Tamara's getting like provisionally diagnosed on the autism spectrum and five minutes later she's sitting down to yap about it. There's no way that from now until the end of time, Teddy was going to be able to just like not mention the fact that she and her husband that we all met on TV is no longer. longer in the picture. But I do think the wording at the very beginning of this, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. So she's putting herself in the driver's seat. Her love tank is perhaps not full right now, but she is driving into her future to quote Vicki Gunnvillson, which I'm sure that Teddy would not appreciate that I'm quoting Vicki Gunnvelson in regards to
Starting point is 00:06:50 her life update. But I do just, I mean, I've made the decision to file for divorce. Teddy Joe. What the frick happened? What's going on? Mr. Security guy, what did he do? Obviously, I know as much as you do. I mean, maybe you know more. Maybe the streets are talking and I haven't been listening because I don't, I don't, I don't tend to be listening to the Teddy Joe radio station on the streets.
Starting point is 00:07:19 But maybe there is talk that I'm not aware of. I don't know anything like shady about Edwin, except for that, you know, maybe his security system wasn't that good that one time when Kyle got robbed. But wishing Teddy all the best, truly. I'm curious, like, what this could mean for her in terms of her public reality TV career. She obviously, you know, has not been on Beverly Hills in a few seasons. I think it would be at this point probably more likely that she would pop up more on orange County in the future. But I don't know if that's really a possibility. Obviously, Teddy is a very
Starting point is 00:08:01 polarizing figure in the housewives world, so I'm not necessarily wishing for that. But interesting, developments. Oh, by the way, on Thursday, I mentioned the possibility, the whispers, the rumblings that Jill's Aaron's daughter, Ali Shapiro and her fiance may no longer be together. Jill did ultimately confirm that to page six. It was a very, a very brief kind of statement that she gave, kind of just like clarifying, yeah, acknowledging. Allie has not directly posted about it. She's, she, I think it was her birthday over the weekend. So happy birthday, Allie. I don't know what happened there. I don't have all the details. But I just wanted to kind of close the loop on that because A, A, I was right. And I like it when I'm right. But also like, you know, sending love to Allie and the
Starting point is 00:08:50 whole fam because they're they're good people when when push comes to shove and I it's tough when you so publicly get engaged and then you know something happens again I don't know the details so good so good everything you want for summer is at Nordstrom rack stores now and up to 60% off stock up and save on the brands you love like Vince Sam Edelman frame and free people join the Nordic club to unlock exclusive discounts shop new arrivals first and more plus buy online and pick up at your favorite rack store for free. Great brands, great prices. That's why you rack.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Girl, winter is so last season. And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders. That perfect hang on the patio sundress. Those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've had enough of shopping from your couch. Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you're,
Starting point is 00:09:53 tear up on that envelope, it's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross. Work your magic. Speaking of something happening after you publicly get engaged, I feel like that's a good place to start with Orange County, right? You know, this whole finale is Jen showing off that big old rock, that big old rock that big old rock that she got in the Bahamas. And then three weeks later, a different kind of a big old something comes.
Starting point is 00:10:26 into her life and that's $16 million that Ryan doesn't know how it got into his account or something. Look, this was, I think, a finale that was maybe set up, not for failure, because it didn't fail at anything, but I think it was the expectations were raised very high because it followed this format that we've had on a handful of shows where they finish filming cameras wrap and then a certain amount of time later, a story develops that's, you know, big and splashy. And so cameras come back up and we film anywhere from a few pickup scenes to a full episode to kind of tack on to the end of the season. Obviously, the biggest example of this was Scandival, which was a very unique example because, of course, the show was already airing. They, you know, filmed, like, quite a bit
Starting point is 00:11:20 with the cast. And then the whole episode, essentially, was added. after what was supposed to be the season finale. That's not the normal example. I mean, this happened. The news, the developments with Ryan happened three weeks after they finished filming. Obviously, the season was not even close to airing yet. So it was different, but I think I was expecting just like a little more, a little more detail, a little more kind of story unfolding.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Whereas what we actually got felt like it was kind of a breviour. It really was only, you know, five or six minutes at the end of the finale. You know, this whole engagement party with the tacky bridesmaids, dresses, some of which weren't as tacky as we would have liked them to be. That happened. Everybody got their little cliff notes thing at the end of the season, which, okay, can we talk about this format that they do? O.C., I feel like, pioneered the dramatic ending at the end of these seasons where we would have the music,
Starting point is 00:12:24 You know the song. Lori continues to wait for her son to come home while her daughter won't speak to her anywhere. Dund do do dung do dung do. Tamara and Simon are still getting divorced. Dung, dung, d'u. I added that at the end. There was never a little ooh, but I had to. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:51 When that sound pops up on TikTok, oh boy. I am transported back to the like recession era O.C. Okay, but they switched the format. They've played around with it a little bit. But this time it was like a fake Instagram post template. And the little updates were showing up as captions. And we were like swiping up on the photos and getting like three little sentence blurbs. I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:13:18 It didn't land for me. Like I want the freeze frame of somebody leaving the finale. party in tears and I want like little bullet points coming up on the side over the freeze frame while we have the fucking do do do ding music. Whatever happened to tradition, whatever happened to honoring where we come from, this feels a bridge too far and I didn't like it. I really hope that this doesn't become the norm. And this is, is this something stupid to get upset about?
Starting point is 00:13:51 Of course. What do you think this whole podcast is? We're talking about housewives. We're on like, I don't know, 600 episodes of getting annoyed about stupid things. But look, please fix the season endings. But anyway, we have to make it through all of that till the very end of the episode for the three weeks later. And we only get this little sliver of Jen and Ryan actually talking to each other. And Ryan basically being like, whoa.
Starting point is 00:14:25 I don't. Okay. So your friends are, your friends are, you are upset about this? Well, I don't care what your friends are upset about. Because Jen, baby, this is, this is God's plan for us. We're working, he's working through us into our, oh my God, not God's plan. Like, God didn't deposit $16 million into a bank account and be like, Ryan. actually it's good to be a bookie. Here's some money. Like, shut the fuck up. And I know some people don't like it when I talk, when I like poke fun at religion on this podcast. But this is like, come on.
Starting point is 00:15:12 This is not God's plan that like Shohei Otani's baseball performance is going to make you rich by like illegal means. Come the fuck on. And I love that this is like directly laid over with Gina and the confess. being like, I mean, she has to be blinded by love because nobody is this dumb. Nobody is this dumb. Like, I'm sorry. When Gina is like dragging you for filth like that, nobody is that dumb. And I agree.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Like, Jen Padranti, I want the best for her. And the whole thing, the last two seasons, the whole thing with Jen is that. that it feels like she doesn't want the best for herself. And that's such a hard thing because we've, we've all had people in our life like that, where it's like, how many times do you have to get, like, bonked on the head before you're finally like,
Starting point is 00:16:08 you know what, that does hurt? And I don't like it. I mean, Jen finally, finally, finally, finally, came to her senses and was like, you know, actually, it's not fun for me getting backstabbed by Tamara over and over and over again. perhaps we shouldn't be friends. She finally came to her senses with Tamara like 15 episodes into this season.
Starting point is 00:16:31 And then we're still watching her just like repeat the same pattern with Ryan. And I really feel like Gina is trying so hard to break through to her. And I just don't know if it's going to, if it's ever going to stick. But I respect when Gina and Katie are there talking to Jen, I really respect that Gina is telling it like it is, and she's, Jen, just, oh my God, when she's like, well, you say he's not good for me, like, what part isn't good? Because I feel like he's my man. And Gina's like, babe, the whole part's not good. If he's going to go to prison and the FBI is going to be like snooping around your money, that's the part that's not good.
Starting point is 00:17:24 I really, this finale, I think, could have, I mean, I'm heated enough about it. Obviously, there, obviously it wasn't like a total flop. The finale could have been more, but I'm very, very curious to see kind of what the energy is like at the reunion. We've seen the little teaser. Obviously, like, you know, everybody that you would expect to be going at it is going at it. So I don't know if there are going to be like surprises in terms of like who's mad at who. But I am curious to see kind of like what shape it's going to take because there's a lot of plates still in the air. I mean, Tamara obviously is in her like gloating about being right about the FBI era. Like, you know, congratulations Tamara, but also like this still doesn't help you make like make you look like any less of a ghoul. And I think that I hope that Tamara can like realize that just a little sliver of a bit. But I don't think she will because she's like 60 years old. and she's been this person for a long time. And seeing Vicky at the finale party,
Starting point is 00:18:35 basically just be like, well, Tamara's not going to change. Tamara's Tamara. She's always going to be Tamara. And no interest, no interest in being friends with her. Oh, Victoria. I mean, Vicki gets on my last nerve sometimes, but she's not wrong. And this season has been pretty brutal for Tamara. and it is 100% her doing it to herself.
Starting point is 00:19:01 And so, again, I'm curious at the reunion if there's going to be any kind of inkling from Tamara that it's like, I need to readjust how I'm handling this. Because right now, it actually reminds me kind of of how Lala handled the most recent season of Vanderpump Rules, the post-scandival season, that it felt like she kind of chose before the season. started, how she was going to position herself, kind of that like pushing back on everybody loving Ariana. And it didn't play well with the audience or with a lot of the fellow cast. And watching the season, you were like, okay, okay, okay. I get that they kind of film it in a vacuum. You don't always know how it's going to come across. But once the season is airing and you see that people aren't loving it and you see that you're coming across really cold and callous, how are you going to pivot and kind of reset for the reunion?
Starting point is 00:19:55 that you can hopefully lead into another season with a better frame. And Lala said, eh, I'm not, I'm not. She said, I'm going to keep laying into Ariana and Katie the exact same way I always have. And I feel like Tamara, I am kind of assuming at this point that she's going to take the same approach, and I don't think it's a good one. There's a lot going on at that tacky bridesmaid engagement party. though. We're wrapping up a lot of loose ends a little bit this season. You know, Gina tells Tamara that she feels like she and Jen are becoming collateral damage of
Starting point is 00:20:34 Tamara's issues with Shannon. I think that's a good observation. I like Gina kind of in this place right now of pushing back on people and trying to hold them accountable. And obviously, Gina is really mad that her, this weird allegation about her potentially being abusive to Travis kind of got brought into the fold last week as an afterthought as kind of like a weapon against someone else because ultimately it does impact her. And early in the episode, seeing her and Travis talking about the situation with his ex in a little more detail, obviously we're not getting all of it. I wouldn't want Travis to share so much that is going to, you know, have a negative impact on
Starting point is 00:21:20 his family and on his ability to kind of move forward. but it's so illuminating about everything that was happening with her and Travis earlier in the season when he was moving out and they were going to live separately. And she kind of like, when it was happening on the show, I remember talking about how confusing it was because, yes, she mentioned that there were some issues with his ex and that she was kind of not going away. But she framed it like the main part of this decision was, we need more space, we can't afford a bigger house. So the solution to that problem is Travis and his kids are going to go live
Starting point is 00:21:57 somewhere else, which at the time seemed like a really strange way to handle that situation with somebody that you are, you know, still in a committed relationship with and wanting to stay with, that it's like, how do you not view this as a step backward in your relationship? Well, it turns out that whole thing was, I mean, I'm sure that there was not zero truth to the thing about wanting space and not being able to afford a bigger house, but like, clearly the driving factor in that decision was the situation with the X. So I understand that and I hope that they can, you know, work on that. But also, I understand my Gina was so mad when the pushing down the stairs thing came up because it's like, that's the exact kind of thing that this X is going to latch onto and
Starting point is 00:22:45 weaponize against them. Oh, God, I feel bad for everyone in that situation. It seems very stressful. Just like the kind of thing that there's like no good way to handle it. Meanwhile at the party, Emily confronts Katie about this whole kids gossiping thing about whether her sons said that Heather was mean to mommy. Well, it turns out we'll never know exactly what happened between Katie's daughter and Emily's sons when they were being babysat. Could they have said something about Heather? Of course, sure. Who knows? But what do we know for sure that Katie's own son? That Katie's own son, who is a similar age to Emily's sons, he talked shit about Heather right on camera and Katie laughed about it.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Like, Katie, this season, I think that she has had a really solid first season in terms of like making herself feel important to the overall picture of the group. But she has had some of these like first season missteps kind of where it's like she's trying to make something happen. and then she just kind of like gets in over her head or steps in it a little bit. And in this case, I can't imagine. I would love to be a fly on the wall in Heather DeBrow's house when she got the screener for that episode and was watching it and saw that footage of Katie's son Bannon talking is saying like, oh, Heather's the mean one, right?
Starting point is 00:24:09 Because Heather must have been like both angry but also like thrilled. because this is, I mean, like, she caught Katie red-handed. Katie in that moment was like, oh, no, I don't talk about you to my kids. Well, maybe my teenage daughter, but not my younger son. Of course not. What kind of mother do you think I am? Well, no judgment, but you are a mother who has talked shit about Heather to your however old son. You just are, which I probably would do.
Starting point is 00:24:40 If I ever had kids, they would know exactly how I felt about everyone. Like, you think I'm going to be in my own home and. censor myself. I mean, I would watch my language. I wouldn't say anything like, you know, really inappropriate. But if like somebody's being a bitch, I'm not going to be like, oh, sweetie, wait, wait till she leaves the room before you say that she was, you know, being mean to mommy. No, if anybody's being mean to mommy, the kids will know, because those are our enemies. I don't know. I'm probably not having kids. Don't worry about it. If I sound like I would be a terrible parent. Don't worry. That's not in the cards. Certainly not right now. But the other thing I
Starting point is 00:25:23 want to touch on before, I meant to get to Potomac quicker, the other thing I want to touch on before we move on from OC is this interaction between Shannon Bador and Katie's husband Matt. Matt, right? I'm like 90% sure his name is Matt. God, these husband's names, it takes a minute. It takes a minute for them to stick in my head. So Shannon for the 42nd time the season is done. So she, she's done. If you didn't get it, she's done. She's actually done. She says she's done. She's walking away. And so then she's like venting to Matt. This is, of course, after her whole thing with Tamara, Alexis is there, John Jansen's there, whatever. She's talking to Matt and she's like, you know, I've been strong for so long. And I, you know, I've said that I've done in the past, but this time I'm really done.
Starting point is 00:26:13 And Matt very calmly is just kind of like, well, I mean, then why don't you leave? And okay, I've watched this like two or three times. And I felt like I was missing something because the way that Shannon interprets him kind of rephrasing her question back to her kind of in the same way. She is so offended by it. And like she goes up to Katie and is like, the way your husband does. spoke to me is unacceptable. It's like he, I mean, you're visibly miserable. And all he said is like, maybe you should go home.
Starting point is 00:26:58 At a certain point, like, if you tell me you're done a hundred times, I might be like, okay, so be done. And they didn't, you know, it wasn't so explicit that it was like, if you hate being on the show, then don't be on the show. I think that Shannon is somebody who like, she, will say it a hundred times, but when somebody kind of like reflect it back to her
Starting point is 00:27:21 and she realizes kind of like, oh, wait, me being done would mean me not being on the show anymore? Well, that's not what I want. Are you stupid? I feel for Shannon, because she really has been going through it this season,
Starting point is 00:27:35 but it's like, don't leave Matt out of it. Who cares? They've got bigger fish to fry. Study and play. Starting point is 00:28:38 See you this summer. This episode is brought to you by Splash Refresher. There is never a dull moment in the Bravo world where everyone is either fabulous, chaotic, iconic, or they're trying to be. And it's pretty obvious when someone is thirsty for the spotlight. We all get a little thirsty, especially when the drama revs up, and splash refresher helps keep you hydrated, so you're ready for whatever might happen next. It's delicious, bright, flavorful, and zero calories. I don't have to think about what I'm going to reach for when I'm thirsty. Obviously, it's splash refresher. Today, we're going to get into which housewives are in the
Starting point is 00:29:12 splash zone. Who's in the hot seat and who's making the biggest splash in the bravo sphere this week? It has been a little while since we have put someone in the splash zone, but this week I had no doubt in my mind who it was going to be because it's somebody who I think has spent a lot of time in the splash zone over the last few months, years, whether or not we've called it out or not. It's got to be Brandy Glanville. Oh, boy, she is still really going through it and she is, she's tweeting through it. I think I talked about a few weeks ago. She was dropped by her lawyer in this, you know, lawsuit crusade against Bravo. She says she has a new lawyer. I hope. really who knows what will be happening with that. But the last couple things she has posted. Oh, boy. The other day, she tweeted, happy Sunday, fun day. It's been almost two years now since a lying, short, red-haired, closeted old lesbian, ruined my life. Girl, lean into the rainbow, rainbow, rainbow, it's a beautiful space.
Starting point is 00:30:06 When you come out, your family will be able to finally speak their own obvious truths. Oh, oh, Brandy. Look, the saga between Brandy and Caroline Manzo has been going on now, for, we're getting close to two years, at least a year and a half since they filmed that season of girls' trip in Morocco. But the funny thing is like, Caroline isn't talking about this. Caroline is minding her own business. She has her own family drama to attend to, which we won't even get into today. But I mean, Caroline is, she's off in New Jersey wishing that a Bravo camera will never come anywhere near her again. Meanwhile, Brandy is spiraling on a daily, weekly
Starting point is 00:30:43 basis. This situation, I feel bad for how much this situation has kind of messed with Brandy, because I just wish she could kind of move on. I know she feels like she was really done wrong and that she lost out on a lot of money from this situation, but it's like, at a certain point, what is to be gained? And I mean, this is just, this tweet is just pure mess. But then that's not it. Her next tweet, her next tweet after that, Brandy is famously one of the housewives who does these like clickbait article posts that are just pulled out of thin air. Like Kim Zolsiak will post about becoming a grandmother. And then the link is like, I'm not becoming a grandmother yet, but someday I might.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Brady does this too. And the most recent one that she posted is really a lovely work of clickbait because it's hashtag OMG, hashtag RHOBH, put on pause, broken heart emoji with a bitly link. And of course, we just, you know, just recently got a trailer for a new season of Beverly Hills that premieres in like a month. So, um, Brandy, what are you talking about? The photo on this tweet is the cast photo for this season, you know, that Hollywood glam one with our new cast and, and Bose is on there. So I click on the link and I love, I like to be the person who clicks on the link for these things, not because I'm gullible, because I like to know specifically how deep into the
Starting point is 00:32:03 clickbait we're going. Like, if it's something that's like slightly overdramatic or like a little bit exaggerated. I think it's a little cheeky. I think it's a little fun. Hustle, get a buck while you can. This clicks out to an article from November 7th, 2022. This is fully two seasons ago. This is like when Lisa Rana left the show. So whoever is organizing Brandy's little link tree campaigns, we got to do a little better than that. We got to be a little more convincing. We got to, we got to make the clickbait a little more believable. Nobody thinks Beverly Hills has put on pause because we literally just saw the trailer come back. She should have posted this like, a month ago. I don't know. Brandy clearly is going through it a little bit, and I suppose I wish her
Starting point is 00:32:43 well, but you know who I do wish well. All of you. And thank you to our sponsor, Splash Refresher. Available in five cravable flavors, wildberry, assaye grape, pineapple, mango, lemon, and mandarin orange. Splash Refresher is there to satisfy your need for hydration with a little flavor. There's a little something for everyone to enjoy. I personally am very partial to the wildberry flavor. I've said time and time again, that's my favorite one, and I've got one sitting next to me right now as I record, because I don't like to be thirsty when I record. So consider your hydrated self-thriving and find splash refresher today at your local Walmart, Sam's Club, or Kroger, as well as on Amazon or Instacart. Oh, we got to talk about Potomac. We got a, okay, this,
Starting point is 00:33:26 season, I've been talking the last couple weeks about how I've been enjoying Potomac a lot this season and that I think in a good way it feels that it's a little lower stakes than some of the other shows that are on. And I think that this week was when we started to see them kind of turn up the temperature a little bit. Because on this trip to Lake Norman, we got there last episode, you know, they had this kind of like opening dinner, you know, everybody's squabbling a little bit. This episode, first of all, it takes place over the course of like 12 hours. And I always am interested. Well, 12 hours, eight of which they're asleep. Let's say like seven of which they're asleep. I'm always interested when an episode of a Bravo show is like very condensed like this,
Starting point is 00:34:12 because sometimes it can feel like, oh, not that much happened. Why don't you have anything else to show us? In a case like this, and I think the Salt Lake City premiere did this too, where basically the whole episode took place at that Valentine's party. This episode, was like so intricate in terms of who's mad at who, who's kind of teaming up, who's, you know, throwing back to the other person. There are people going at it. There are people fighting on other people's behalf. Then they have this long breakfast, which is just like, you know, back and forth across
Starting point is 00:34:50 the table. So much going on in the breakfast. They finally leave the breakfast table. And it's just like little groups of two or three talking around the house and kind of perpetuating everything that happened at the breakfast. It really is, there's a lot going on. I feel like I probably need to watch the episode again. I had to make notes just of like who is on each side, kind of.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Because the cast is roughly split in half right now. And so you basically, you have two little factions. And I would say that they are being led primarily by Karen and by Mia. So you have Karen, Wendy, Stacy and Kiyana, who are kind of like one little group. Kiana and Stacey, obviously, newer to the group. They're being very supportive of Karen in everything that she has going on. And Wendy also is kind of like in that fray.
Starting point is 00:35:44 And then on the Mia side of things, you have Jacqueline, of course, Mia's, you know, famously her side chick, side piece, side kick. there we go. You know, but under duress, because now Jazzy wants to be. Jazzy is like a little less relevant, but I guess kind of on team Mia. Ashley, weirdly, you would think that Ashley would be like the ringleader kind of because she's an OG. She's been here for such a long time.
Starting point is 00:36:13 It feels like Ashley is kind of a sergeant, a lieutenant. Sergeant? Lieutenant. What are the ranks? Lieutenant. She's like a colonel in the army of Mia at this point. because we see her kind of deployed against Karen. We see her deployed against Stacey.
Starting point is 00:36:31 We see her deployed against Kiarna first and foremost. Oh my God, don't talk about this car. So our subject. I thought that was weird. Ashley, get it together. It was a little messy, a little mean, a little mean spirited, I would say. But the most interesting piece is that I actually feel, Giselle might be leaning more toward Team Mia.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Giselle all of a sudden is like sort of in the middle here. And I don't know. It feels like a very rare situation for Giselle to be kind of the neutral person in the group. And that's not to say she doesn't have issues with anyone. You know, obviously her and Karen are like at odds kind of about how she's handling the DUI situation, how Karen's handling it. but like, Giselle is now in good terms with Wendy, and that seems a little bit stable.
Starting point is 00:37:25 You know, we see in this episode, Giselle is not at the breakfast because she went to her twins' capping gown ceremony, which, I mean, yes, I got a little emotional. You know, these housewife kids, the flashbacks of them being like nine years old, oh my God, I just like,
Starting point is 00:37:43 I know I'm a loser. I just can't keep it together sometimes. But she's like texting, Wendy while she's not there. She is like getting to know the new ladies a little bit more. Like, Giselle is kind of working the room in a way that is impressive
Starting point is 00:37:58 to me. Whereas like Karen, I think, is floundering a little bit because the way that she's handling these legal issues or kind of choosing not to handle them, it just isn't, it isn't sitting right as a viewer. And what's interesting is after this whole, you know, riguma
Starting point is 00:38:14 roll at the table, Stacy has been defending Karen. She's been saying, I don't think it's fair that you're talking about their issues and whatnot and, you know, defaming and all of this. And she's saying we need to respect the birthday girl and she tells Ashley to stop yelling at Wendy. It's a lot. But then after that, Mia and Jacqueline are talking about Karen's, you know, legal stuff. Because Karen has thrown out there that Jacqueline's man, father of her children, has 25 charges. And, okay, so I guess he was, he was a cop, and there was, like, an internal affairs thing, and he got let go, but then now he's a different kind of cop. I don't know. I'm like, I can't. I hear cop and my ears just glaze over. It's like, I can't get worked up about that. But so they're talking about how, like, Ms. Karen, she's talking about my man's charges. Let's talk about the charges Karen has. And Stacey kind of saunders over. She's like, okay, ladies, what are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:39:16 and they read her the list and Stacey's mind is kind of blown. And I, look, this is how I know that Stacey and I are not the same because the fact that she has been on this show with Karen for like a few weeks now and has not gone home and Googled exactly what is going on with Karen Hugar's legal situation. Bitch, I would do that the first day. We would be at lunch and I would say, I got to go to the bathroom. Googling. I would come back to the table and be like, assault with a deadly weapon. That's not what Karen is. You know, I couldn't think of the actual charge. The charges that she's are so specific. It's like intent to operate motor vehicle while under the something, something, something, intent to blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
Starting point is 00:40:05 like they're very in the weeds, but it's like eight different things. And I, I respected the way that Stacy, when presented with new information, changed her mind. And she didn't change her mind in a way that she said, okay, now I hate Karen. She changed her mind in a way that said, okay, I need to talk this out. Because I don't want to be just like blindly supporting somebody who would do all of this. And she's accused of doing all of this. It's alleged as Karen wants to remind us. But she's like, wait, wait, wait, wait, she could have killed somebody.
Starting point is 00:40:44 And it's like, yeah, babe, that's like why we're having this whole conversation. So she goes up to Karen immediately and it's like, so I heard about the charges, first of all. And also, Mia and Jacqueline think you need to go to rehab. She did not miss a beat. She got that little hot potato of information. 30 seconds later, she, you know, went on over to Karen and told her everything. And you know what I love about this. First of all, Stacey Gold Star, you're doing your job.
Starting point is 00:41:18 And I love that Mia agrees because Mia was on Watch What Happens Live last night. And Andy was like, were you mad when you saw that it didn't take but 30 seconds for Stacey to go tell Karen exactly what you were saying? She said, no. She said, that's why I told her. I gave her the information so that she would tell Karen. And she did her job. And that is such a brilliant way of handling it from Mia because she is saying, even though in that moment watching the show, you might think that Stacey sold me out and
Starting point is 00:41:50 you know, I was messy and said something I shouldn't have said. Mia's like, no, actually, that's in my strategic plan. Everybody else is just following the playbook. Ooh, Mia is, I am, Mia is having like a powerful season right now. There's so much, I feel like we didn't even get to with Potomac. It's, I mean, the amount of stuff that's being thrown back and forth, because we have, um, Kiyarna used to date a drug dealer. That apparently is happening. Then we, of course, we get, Mia was a stripper.
Starting point is 00:42:26 And I love in Stacey's confessional. I'm really feeling Stacey right now. She goes, well, I mean, maybe Kiarna dated a drug dealer. Maybe Wendy was a, maybe Mia was a stripper. You know, who's to say what's true? And she goes, wait, wait, wait. Mia was a stripper, right? Like, we do know that.
Starting point is 00:42:44 That's not like a, okay. That's a fact. But there is a lot going on in this group right now. And I feel like Potomac kind of, they kind of locked in this week. And I think that I like that we had kind of like a fun intro to the season. But now I feel like we're kind of, we're ratcheting it up a little bit. And I also, very interesting. There was a little moment.
Starting point is 00:43:07 I don't know if you caught it where Kiyarna and me. we're going back and forth. And they're talking about getting a flute. And Kiana's like, oh, you like, you needed your flute. And Kiana's like, oh, I got my flute. Now let's try to get you yours. That's the fourth wall. They're talking about, I mean, they hold the flutes of champagne in the Potomac intro.
Starting point is 00:43:32 They're just so casually being like, bitch, I am full time. You're just a friend. Let's work on your full time. I, are we just, we're not going to notice that? We're not going to talk about it. This show, they're minds, these women. I mean, if you're not 100% into Potomac right now, I understand because I do feel like it's kind of like,
Starting point is 00:43:55 it feels a little in the weeds. Like some of the drama is a little bit like, wait, sorry, what? But I don't know. It's just clicking for me. And I hope that if maybe if you're only like 60% of the way there, just stick with it because I feel like this season has the juice. I feel like it has a lot of energy. And I feel like everybody is really locked in and participating a lot, which just makes me excited.
Starting point is 00:44:17 And speaking of participating, we all got to participate in that democratic process. So make sure you get out there and vote.
