Mention It All - Dr. Heavenly Responds To Gizelle Bryant & Quad's Beef, Breaks Down The Toya Texts, & Her Run For Congress Ft. Dr. Heavenly Kimes

Episode Date: January 27, 2026

On this week’s video episode, Dylan sits down with Married to Medicine’s Dr. Heavenly to unpack why this season has felt heavier and more difficult than any of her past ones, including her very bo...ld take on her “perfect” marriage with Dr. Damon. She claps back at Quad and Gizelle Bryant’s comments on WWHL and says that, like her, Gizelle just likes to talk. Then she addresses her relationship with Toya and makes it clear she’s not entertaining the disrespect. Plus, she reacts to Dr. Simone weighing in on her run for Congress, shares why she chose forgiveness while Simone is dealing with a lot, and closes by laying out exactly what she wants to do in office and why she thinks you should vote for her. Starting point is 00:00:36 everyone, welcome back to the Ventured at All podcast. I am so thrilled to be here with another Married to Medicine Veteran Season 12 is going strong. And we are joined today by Dr. Heavenly Kimes. Dr. Heavenly, welcome. Thank you for having me. How are you today? I'm doing well. It's very cold in New York. It is freezing. You're braving the elements in your fabulous puffer coat. There you go. Staying warm. Gotta stay warm. This season of Married to Medicine is heating up to. It's on fire. It's a fire season. There's a lot going on. It's a lot.
Starting point is 00:01:08 We were just talking, there's this girl's trip happening. There's some, you know, lots of drama within the group happening as always. Always. How was this season going for you? You know, you've been doing this a long time. Season 12, how are we feeling? This was a more difficult season for me. I was probably more vulnerable this season than ever before.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Not by choice. But things happen, you know, and I had to speak about it and I did. So, yeah, so it's been difficult. I wanted to say, I mean, you have a cast that's been very consistent over the years for a long-running show. Yes. It's a lot of you that have been on since the very beginning, since the early seasons. You all have gone through high points in life, struggles, friendships, you know, challenges in your relationships, businesses, all of that. Even when you're having issues with another woman in the group, are you able to sort of
Starting point is 00:02:05 take a step back and see that you've all been on this journey together. Absolutely. Absolutely. You know, there's ups and downs, highs and lows, but it will always be a love there for the ladies, especially the core group. There's some new ladies this time. We got a lot of history. Uh-huh. Ladies, yeah. It is, I mean, when you look back even, you know, thinking about, like, all the ups and downs that you've been on with quad or with Toya or, you know, Jackie, Simone, everybody. It's, I think that is a, something about married to medicine. and that makes it such a unique show of like, you are really going to see the,
Starting point is 00:02:39 the roller coaster of what long-term relationships look like. Sisters, if you will, yeah. What do you think about that concept of sisterhood? Because I think that's something where, you know, depending what's happening in the group, different people are always sort of accusing others of not valuing that sisterhood, not having that. I mean, you've gotten those accusations too.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Like, how do you kind of handle that? I think it's kind of individualized who you are. I think that a lot of people can remember what you did to them, but they don't remember what they did to you, whether they're short or not. You know what I'm saying? There's explosive moments, but they didn't get explosive in five seconds like you saw it on the show. It's more to it. And I feel like, you know, and when you step back and you look at it,
Starting point is 00:03:24 you don't see what other people are filming. So, for example, I'm thinking about Simone right now. I didn't see what she was filming. Had I seen what she was filming? I might have had more. empathy for her. She put it out there real, like no one else has in situations that we all go through, you know, all go through issues and things like that.
Starting point is 00:03:46 And she put it out there real. Had I known the vulnerable part she was in, I would have given her a hug. You know? And I think that's, it's tough because like you said, you don't know what somebody else has been filming or going through privately. But then they're still reacting. They're going to react to what you say. Something I said five years ago.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Right. And so for Simone, she's saying, how could she say that I have all this stuff going on when maybe you were only sort of commenting on one small piece of it? On one small piece. And, you know, you may have said it, but to see it was eye opening. You know, as somebody tells you something, you really don't see it, you know, yeah, whatever, boo, you know. And but when you see it, you're like, oh, wow, wow, that's, that's deep, you know. And it's not something that we all have not gone through, you know, if disagreements about
Starting point is 00:04:35 how to raise our children, I think that's something that's universal that we go through as professional women, you know, and men think differently from women, very much differently. And they've had a different past than we have. And so we probably won't ever understand why they think the way they do. I mean, even just, I mean, Simone in particular, like, going back to that reunion where she and, you know, Cecil were on the brink of divorce and then came back over that one day. we've seen it just with them before and now so now they're going through it in a different way and dealing with that like I think that's part of what we have on this show now is there there's so much wealth of experience and and you know struggles to look back at absolutely um you know I always want the best for the ladies whatever makes them happy um honestly everybody has rough times in marriages you know I've been you know and they get mad at me because you know when they say well heavenly how's your marriage well my shit is perfect you don't I mean I have sex every night what do you want to mean I have sex every night what do you want to you Your marriage is not perfect. Yes, it is.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Yes, it is too. So I think that it's that. And I feel like, you know, every marriage has years that are good and some years that are not so good. They're going through something right now. But I think they love each other dearly. And I think they'll see themselves through it. I mean, speak of your marriage. It is perfect, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:05:55 Dr. Damon is a fan favorite. Yeah. Let's just say. I think that you two have an extremely unique. dynamic. And I think people don't always, people don't necessarily see themselves in your dynamic, but it seems like it works so well for the two of you. It works for me. I was just watching the scene just now. My voice does change when I talk to my husband. I am a different person, but it's real. I mean, that's what it is, you know. My husband has been so supportive in my
Starting point is 00:06:26 run for Congress. Everything I do, he's so supportive. And he just thinks differently from me when it comes to raising our children, similar to Simone, you know. I think I've never been a man. I definitely have never been a black man. And I think that they can see things differently for what we can see. And sometimes I think people need mental breaks, you know, and we don't see it as women. We're working hard. We're making sure and we're giving our kids everything we got.
Starting point is 00:06:50 But it's more than one way to love your children. I mean, I also think back, you've been on the show now over a decade. Yes. And Alora, your daughter. She's 20 now. She's 20. 20. She started at seven.
Starting point is 00:07:04 So crazy. Watching some of those early scenes back when she has this like wonderful, you know, sort of precocious spirit and like just bringing that energy every time she was on the show. Like, what does it like to kind of have that experience of doing the show together? And now she's a, you know, a young woman. And you know, I don't view her as a young woman. I still see her as a seven-year-old little baby. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:07:30 I make decisions for her still. they can, you know, I still do things. And, you know, I have to let my kids grow up. It's very difficult when you are a controlled person the way that I am to allow your children to be adults, you know, we don't want to see them hurt. And, you know, I can go back to Simone store. We all didn't grow up with anything, you know. We all worked hard to get where we were going and to speak up for Cecil.
Starting point is 00:07:51 We want our kids to have something different. But times have changed. These kids need skin in the game, you know, and that's where me and Damon differ. You know, I feel like, you know, we can't do everything for them. You know what I'm saying? We can't, you know, and he feels that way as well,
Starting point is 00:08:06 but he will, I'll let him figure it out. You know what I'm saying? He'll always come to the rescue. Yeah. I'm curious for you going back to when you first joined the show. I know you were around the group a little bit in season one, but then really joined the cast in season two.
Starting point is 00:08:21 What was that decision at the time like to jump into this? And did you have any kind of inkling of how big of a, you know, experience it was going to be. No, I had no clue. I was actually about in the group beforehand. You know, I did the pilot. Right, right. So I understood what it was, but I was thinking like, no, I have a business. I don't know what this is and I don't know how it's going to affect my business. So it was a big decision to join the show. But after you have something tangible and you saw what it was and you saw, you know, they had the numbers and what it was. I was like, okay, you know what,
Starting point is 00:08:54 I'll give this a try. I've always been an entrepreneur and not not afraid to take chances. So, yeah, it's been a long run, but it doesn't seem like it's been that long. These 13 years went by very quickly, very quickly. And it's crazy because you don't know exactly what it's going to be, but then once you're on the ride, you're on the ride, you know, you know it's going to be some shit. Because even if you left the show at a certain point, you're still in the world and people are still going to be following you and wanting to know what's up with your family. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:09:25 You know, seeing what you have going on. So it's, you really, you know, you, you, you. you make a decision and then you're never quite going to be able to go back. I watch our show has been, had more seasons than Gilligan's Island. You know how you watch the reruns? You think like that show was going forever and you saw them get off the island finally. No, we've been on the show for a long time.
Starting point is 00:09:44 You have to realize that people will remember. Like my kids grew up on TV. You know, we actually grew and we had a whole journey on TV and I'm still growing. And, you know, you have to look back and the things you've learned and the growth you've had. And, you know, we've all had growth. And you got, I mean, you're cranking out the episodes, too. Some of those seasons are like 20 plus episodes with the reunions. Yeah, they're about 18, yes.
Starting point is 00:10:08 You, you've made a lot of television. We have, we have. And you've made a lot of moments. I think that's something I hear from a lot of people is like, married to medicine is maybe one of the most underrated shows on Bravo or on reality TV. Not anymore. Because, well, it gets the, I think people who have watched it, shout it from the rooftops.
Starting point is 00:10:31 But it's like when you find somebody who's like, I don't know what to watch. Like is should I try it? It's like, oh, you have no idea. And now our ratings are better than Potomac, right? Per Quad. Right? I want to ask about that.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Yes. Ms. Quad. And Ms. Quad and Ms. Giselle Bryant were on, watch what happens live. And of course, you know, we love our, we love our ladies. Love our ladies. Love them all. Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:52 Jizel, her daughter goes to school with Alora. Yes. Allora actually came back. she's actually at CAU now. Okay, okay. But they were at Florida A&M for... Yes, yes. So there was a comment that Quad brought up
Starting point is 00:11:05 that Giselle and Robin had been talking about about recycling women on the shows. Giselle is a lot like me. We talk so much shit we don't even remember the shit we said, you know? But the problem with the whole thing was for me is how quickly she threw her friend under the bus.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Bitch, that wasn't me. You want to take it up with Robin. And she didn't remember what I said, obviously. Because when you run back to take it was her. So, you know, it's interesting. I love Jazeel. She's fun and funny to me, but she's a, she's a dangerous, deep and dangerous. I like that you could recognize, though, that you kind of are like two sides of the same coin.
Starting point is 00:11:39 I don't know, but the people know. The people remember. You know what I'm saying? I can't watch back all those YouTube videos. I don't remember, girl. I was talking about what happened at that time. And I really just said what I thought at the time. But I think that's part of, I mean, Jizel similarly has been on her show for 10 seasons now.
Starting point is 00:11:55 That's part of what people are. connecting with and attaching to is that spirit of you're going to say it, how you feel it, you might get in trouble for it, you might get called out, you might get dogged out. The interesting thing about reality TV is you don't remember what you said about somebody
Starting point is 00:12:12 but you remember what they said about you. I remember what happened, what they did to you, but they don't remember what they did or what made it happen. So, you know, it's interesting. So good, so good. Everything you want for summer is at Nordstrom Rock stores.

Starting point is 00:13:41 That's OLL-L-Y.com. Do you think over the time that you've been on the show, has your approach to doing the show and relating to the group changed at all of like being a little more careful about how you approach such and such or how you use your words or anything like that because I think that that's something where
Starting point is 00:14:07 people kind of come at sometimes like we're always going back to the same place and I think for you it's like part of that is just how you are and you don't need to change it but the interesting thing in that is as of late I have to change because I'm running for Congress District 13 in my and I have to self-reflect and look back and see the things that I'm
Starting point is 00:14:27 the challenges I've had and how I can improve because it is very important for me to do so if I'm going to lead my district and actually be a representation of my district and help the people that, you know, have problems with affordability, they have problems with health care right now, which is my biggest part of my platform
Starting point is 00:14:42 and education being a double HBCU graduate. I understand, you know, what the qualms are, the good and bad and bad and right or wrong. I'm a recipient of the Pell Grant and the federal loans and without those, I wouldn't be here. So, of course, I have to take things a little bit different now. It has to be a pivot. How did that change for you making this season of the show, knowing that that was in progress?
Starting point is 00:15:06 And, okay, I'm going back to this platform that has given me so much, you know, opportunity and, you know, love and, you know, that. But also could be a negative if I go on the show and, you know, act a fool. And then people can say this, that, and the other. I think that people recognize passion when they see it no matter what. I think that we're a representation of educated black women. We're all a type personality, so we're not going to always agree. And we're not going to see the same things the same way. And I think that what's needed now in Congress, in Washington,
Starting point is 00:15:40 is somebody that's not afraid to speak up and speak out and speak their mind and speak the truth, even when it's difficult to do. No matter what the outcome is, you've got to speak up. And that's where I'm at. I'm very grateful for the opportunities, you know what I'm saying? And I'm very grateful for the platform, because without, it, where would I be? But also thinking that it's a God-given platform that we've been blessed so much that we have to be a blessing to others. And I cannot forget the people that come up behind me.
Starting point is 00:16:07 I've had, you know, Dr. Simone's been here, Dr. Jackie's been here. Yes. And something that I've talked about them with is one of my favorite things about your show is the way that you connect with the community and give back to the community. You do medical missions on these couple trips that you go on. You know, during the COVID pandemic, you guys were, you you know, doing clinics and things like that. Yeah, I think we did the markers on Washington with Dr. Damon did free COVID testing here in Washington. Yeah. We had, you know, Kamala Harris was on the show talking with Jackie.
Starting point is 00:16:36 I think that is something that like even, you know, all the other drama and everything aside, it's like that is, you guys have made a real impact. Mm-hmm. That has been amplified because of the show. Yeah, yeah. It's been phenomenal. It's been amazing, amazing, amazing. We've been able to show all walks of life. And that's one thing that's very special about marriage to me.
Starting point is 00:16:56 medicine. I don't think there's another show, definitely not another show on Bravo that is similar to it that you can see both sides. You can see that we grew up, you know, a certain kind of way, but we actually became, you know, physicians and dentists and one-time attorneys, you know, and we show our real lives and we actually go through the same thing that everybody else does and we're human and we go through financial issues. We go through issues with relationships. We go through issues with friendships and we show it in a real and relatable way, you know. Some of us, you know, some people, in reality, don't give you all of their life per me.
Starting point is 00:17:29 You know what I'm saying? I'm not going to do it. But some people are very open and telling everything about them and disrespecting their husbands. And that's what they do. And, you know, you respect it. That's what they do. I want to talk a little bit about your relationship with Toya this season. Because it's been a little bit challenged.
Starting point is 00:17:45 You could say there was this text about a fake Balenciaga bag that was left at the house. And then you said some stuff. Right. For sure. For sure. you've been dealing with Toya for a long time. Yes, for a long time. How do you feel like with a decade plus in the rearview mirror?
Starting point is 00:18:04 How are we showing up and like processing Toya? Toya's a very interesting character. I think that Toya is trying to come for a get back. You know what I'm saying? She probably feels like just like people with Chazelle, you talked about her stuff that went on the TV. What you presented on TV. All we did was discussing it and told you what we thought about it, right?
Starting point is 00:18:23 But she's feeling some kind of way. So she feels like now that I'm going through something, hey, hi, hi, it's time for a get back. But she doesn't realize how important the work we're doing and what a sacrifice it is, the things we're doing. But also that I would have to thank Toya. I don't have to thank Toria because she keeps me on my toes, but not only that, what she means for bad turns into blessings for me.
Starting point is 00:18:43 So thank you, Toya. Thank you for all of the things you give me. I will deal with all kind of people, but I won't disrespect ever. I was kind of, when she was saying like, do people really think that Heavenly would have a Balenciaga bag or a Gucci-Dist or whatever?
Starting point is 00:19:01 It's like, you're all... That's safe for the people that are superficial. So, I mean, no, you know, to me, that whole thing was not about the bag. It was about the thing she said about my son. So when we went to the text, it was the bag was like the final straw.
Starting point is 00:19:15 When you put the bag out there, I don't give a damn about the bag. Anybody knows me. I don't care about fashion and all that kind of stuff, the color we're wearing or anything like that. I'm more a person that's probably more, I don't spend money previously. I try not to, you know, so it wasn't about the bag.
Starting point is 00:19:33 It was about the thing she said before the bag. And then when she said it, I just went in. Yeah. Because it doesn't make sense. Like she said a bag and then I went straight. Like, yeah, no, no, no. It was some shit she said before that. If you wanted to address just the bag, you could stop there.
Starting point is 00:19:46 It wasn't a bag. And I heard somebody say, somebody on one of these blogs said, well, you know, heavily went in off the bag. It had nothing to do with the bag. You mentioned a little bit about, you know, stuff that you were dealing with this season and that it happened. And so it had to be addressed and whether or not you wanted to. How did you feel like the different women in the group kind of handled that situation? Because I feel like from some people, you got a little bit more, you know, support.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Just like, you know, we're not going to dig into this or ask questions. Some people have a little bit of a different approach. I think it's different from what you guys saw. I actually visited what happened with my son over and over again. They didn't show it. It was almost like Toy was saying I was running for them. I'm not running for anything because I understand the love that I have for my children. And similar to Simone, I've given my kids all I got to give.
Starting point is 00:20:37 You know what I'm saying? And I can't control anyone. You know what I'm saying? I feel like we did the best we knew how to do. We gave them private schools, everything, and maybe too much, you know, because times are different, times have changed. And kids now are dealing with different things that we could never fathom, you know? So we do the best we have what we have.
Starting point is 00:20:55 And I think that it's been a blessing and in a sense that it's been a testimony for what happened with my son because things could have went very differently. And I thank God every day that my son is alive. And he's, you know, he's well. I have not seen him. But we're actually making baby steps because while we were filming, he called me. And that was a big moment for me. But now I've seen him on FaceTime, you know.
Starting point is 00:21:16 And I'm thinking like, wow, he's fat. Not fat, but he's, you know, you worry about your baby eating and, you know, he's plump. You know what I'm saying? He's doing well. So I'm happy about that. Well, that's great. I'm glad to hear it. I think you've also made some progress in your relationship with Contessa.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Contessa, yes. Contessa was very instrumental in me running for Congress. She had a lot of support for me and belief in me. I initially started my candidacy's state rep, you know? And I didn't realize that people like Toya didn't know the difference, you know what I'm saying? So when I ran for state rep, it was like, do you realize these jobs? I was on painting me. I'm just doing something from my community. I didn't understand the anger.
Starting point is 00:21:52 You know what I'm saying? I could see Simone was going through things. But to look at the show, you would think that Toya has the most. I mean, you know, as far as like she's the beautiful girl, she has beautiful children, she has the beautiful house. What are you so fucking mad about? Can I cuss? Yeah. Oh, what are
Starting point is 00:22:08 you so mad about? I get why Simone's mad. But what are you mad about? It makes you wonder, doesn't it? A little bit. Yeah, it makes me wonder. I've been rounder. You must not know. But anyway. Well, I was going to say, I think that you and Katessa have made some good progress. But man, the way that you sometimes will just throw in a little shade to her just makes me like earlier. You know what? I can't help it.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Honestly, I really cannot. I sit up in these interviews and I really. She's a beautiful girl. She just don't know what the hell to do with it. It looks like she picks her clothes out of the file at Goodwill. Did I lie? When I last slap the shit out of me, please. Did I lie?
Starting point is 00:22:45 Beautiful girl don't know what to do with it. Yeah. I say the things that everybody's thinking, but I say it in a, in a, in a, in a pleasant way. Uh-huh. A funny way, you know. Right. You have a way with words, I would say. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:22:56 You know, the tongue is sharp. It's a comical. It doesn't miss. I mean, I think that's something. That's what a read is. A read is something that's real. You know what I'm saying? And you hit it right on the, right on the.
Starting point is 00:23:06 And I think you know, I think that that's something that kind of when you were talking about Giselle, too. It's like, you know when you're being sharper with it. And she knows, too. Exactly. Yeah. But she just don't remember. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:23:18 I don't remember either. We don't talk so much shit. We don't remember. But the thing about it is you don't throw your friend under the bus. Watch only on Prime Okay, I want to talk a little bit more about the Congress campaign Because I think that's a really You know, it is a unique thing that you're choosing to do
Starting point is 00:25:04 But I have to tell you, Dr. Simone was here Earlier this season And I want to tell you what she said U.S. Congress Somebody has gassed her up Okay To make her believe that she could get a U.S. Congress seat I don't know
Starting point is 00:25:18 What delusional person Told her that that seat was up for grabs But the question would be, which party would I attend on election night? Would it be the Dr. Heavenly Kimes party or would it be the winners party? If you tell me what she said, I don't want to hear what she said. What I want to tell you is that no matter what she said, I forgive her. I forget she knows not what she said.
Starting point is 00:25:45 She's going through a difficult time in her life right now. So we have to have empathy. And honestly, I think I've been through worse. I'm going through worse this season. but it actually shows me that, you know, you have to check on your strong friend. Sometimes we're in a position where we all are strong black women. We're working hard. We're doing a lot for our families.
Starting point is 00:26:04 I think that all of us can say that. Probably septoria. But we're all working hard for our families and we've given our children all we can give, you know? So with Simone, like, are you, have you been like communicating with her? Simone is on and off, hot and cold. I saw Simone at a, when we went to the hall. game because, you know, we are representing the hawks and things. And she just looked at me and then she just gave me a hug out of nowhere.
Starting point is 00:26:29 And I'm like, okay. And the next time I saw her, she was like, yeah, no, no, bitch, watch you. So it's hard to kind of keep up. Every time, every time at the reunion when Andy's always like, let me cover this year. Did girl. And it really bothers her, which I don't get it. She'll say, Heavenly, you know, we suffer, bled. We slit our wrist all over the show.
Starting point is 00:26:47 And then they'll say, Heavenly, well, how's your marriage? My shit is perfect. What are you talking about? It's perfect. I have sex every night was, your shit is not perfect. Girl don't have no coronary about me. You know what I'm saying? It is perfect.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Yeah. But she knows I'm lying. I mean, this is the reality of me. Some people just don't tell these shit to their friends, you know what I'm saying? And some people just let it all out, just disrespect their husbands and don't give a damn about it. That's not me. So you've got this election coming up May of this year, right? Actually, early voting starts April 20th.
Starting point is 00:27:16 And the election is May 19th, yes. Okay. And how is Quad doing as the campaign? campaign manager. What is no longer the campaign manager per you kind of knew that. We were running for state rep. My win number was $2,700. Me and Kwah could have got their hands down. We first started raising money.
Starting point is 00:27:31 We had 50 times with the income it had. But anyway, so we moved forward with the a lot of people saw when I ran for a state rep that my platform was a lot bigger and I could help a whole lot more people in Congress. Right now in the state of Georgia,
Starting point is 00:27:47 you know, in the state level it's more Republican so it's more difficult to get laws passed. But on a congressional level, we have nine Republican congresspeople and we have five Democrat. But if I continue
Starting point is 00:28:02 to campaign when I win, I can flip it and it'll be eight and six and it'll be seven and seven. Once we get the numbers, now we can go in and actually make a change in the legislation and you know, in the things the amendments we put in and actually make a change to help my community. I mean, Georgia
Starting point is 00:28:19 in the last several years has become a very important political spot. It has. And the interesting thing is my district has been gerrymandered. Nobody knew about it two years ago. It was jerrymandered. And it includes, it's inclusive of 60, 60 plus percent Democrat, 70 plus percent African American. That's my district. I'm the only one in that district that can boast that I've lived there for 25 years. I've served there for 25 years. And I've had a business, a dental practice in every county in that district. That's my district. That's not just my patients. It's not just my community at this point. That district is my family, you know, and I'm very excited and very, very committed to helping
Starting point is 00:28:57 everybody in that district. And my platform will always be the same thing. First of all, affordability. People can't afford to live where they work. A lot of hedge funds and private investors have come in and purchase properties, single family homes in my district and rent it out for a higher price that the people in my district can't afford to live where they work. Secondly, you got to talk about health care, which is a part of affordability.
Starting point is 00:29:19 People will die. They suffer blood and die. understand health care and insurance is better than anyone. And that's why I'm starting a Medicaid office because it's a need there, right? And the main thing is we have to make ACA permanent. We can't be forcing about the medical bills every other year. We have to make it permanent and we have to expand Medicaid, not just to just expand it, but actually be more inclusive of dentistry.
Starting point is 00:29:41 What I do every day that people cannot afford dentistry. A lot of times, and it's preventing a lot of specific diseases. Y'all know the bacterium of the heart, but you know it's Alzheimer's. it's all these things that it can prevent, including cancer, dementia, all these things, they can be prevented with dentistry. You will pay for the stroke and it's paid thousands of dollars, but you won't pay for the preventive care. So that's something either people don't know or they're not talking about it. And, you know, when I went Congress, I'll be the first black female dentist ever.
Starting point is 00:30:13 And I think there's things we need to talk about, not just dentistry, but mental health concerns. There's a mental health epidemic going on right now, right? And, you know, I've talked to me, Dr. Mimi extensively and spoke to her, and I've been to every angle of my community. And in Clayton County, one of the dilemmas is they don't have the coverage for mental health. The criteria to be, if I'm talking too long, let me know. The criteria to be a police officer is to be 18 years old and have a GED. They do not have the training to deal with mental health emergencies. What we're proposing is that we continue with the two-way cameras where we can put a mental health professional on the line to de-escalate situations.
Starting point is 00:30:49 so people can live, right? We got so many ideas. We're coming up with an app. We can tell people where to go, not just to get health care, but to get food and the sustenance they need in my community. And hopefully in my district,
Starting point is 00:30:59 people will take that and do it in their district because this is a federal seat. We have federal funding, not enough, but I'm actually a business person so I know how to stretch a dollar, right? So I know how to do these. These are the things that God has called me to do, and I'm just like, wow, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:13 you see one aspect of me on reality TV, but you don't know all the other stuff. And I can go on and on what my credentials are, but they're not even that important. What's the most important is that I will be there. I'll be present for the people in my district. And what's happened from time to time is when people get these positions, they disappear. And they never see them again and they never talk to the constituents.
Starting point is 00:31:33 And that's how I'll be different in Congress, District 13. And make sure you get out and vote. April 20th is early voting. Make sure you check out my website, Dr. Hemley for Georgia. Make sure you donate. Make sure you pray for me. Make sure you like and subscribe. but we got some major things going on
Starting point is 00:31:49 and we're going to make it happen. I know a lot of physicians. I know a lot of attorneys and we're going to make a change in District 13 and actually to spread to other counties in our district, other districts in our state and through the United States of America. Period.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Period. Period. Period. I love the passion. Period. Yeah. Yeah, yes, definitely. I mean, we've seen you be passionate about... It's a true calling.
Starting point is 00:32:11 By my family and about health care. We've seen you passionate about dragging a bitch before. You know, like, I think it is, it's exciting to see you, you know, owning these things that you're passionate about so strongly. Absolutely. Absolutely. I think at times such as this, you need somebody that's real and relatable, that's not afraid to speak up and speak out, somebody that's not bought, but understands both sides of it. I come for free lunch. That was sometimes the only meal I got in a day.
Starting point is 00:32:38 I got weak when I first got pregnant. You know, I got food stamps and I know that that's just a lifeline to get to the next level. You know, I understand when nurses go through this. They're no longer professionals. So now they can't get the federal funding they need. And somebody has to say something, speak up, speak out, and make a change. And that person has been, I've been called to do it. And I think I'm the best person for the job, actually, yes.
Starting point is 00:33:02 It's exciting. It's exciting. We're going in places and we're going to make change and together. And, you know, the interesting thing is I've been so well received that everybody wants somebody to do it, but nobody wants somebody to do it. But nobody want to step out and do it. So when you get out there and you step yourself and they're like, heaven me, you're crazy. You got this, you got this. you got that. Why are you putting it all online? I feel like it's important. There's somebody
Starting point is 00:33:21 got to do it. I went to my hair medical college. We learned to serve the underserved and I took that at heart. And when my people are struggling, that means I'm struggling. And I think a lot of people don't realize is that no matter what happens with this health care, people, if they don't have the haircut, they're going to fill the ERs, you know? And Damon worked in the ERs for years. So it's going to trickle down that it's going to actually be an increase for everyone. So you're going to be in that battle whether you choose to engage or not. You're going to be a part of it. So you're might as well be a part and make a change. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:48 I think, too, what you said about, you know, somebody's got to do it. Nobody else wants to. Like, probably this time that you've spent on the reality TV platform has prepared me. Receiving so much feedback, hearing all kinds of opinions. Numb to it. You're numb to it. And also you know how to use that platform.
Starting point is 00:34:07 Absolutely. I understand my base. I understand my people. I know what they need, what they want. But not only that, they want to be heard. And representative is in the name, U.S. House. or you're representing the people by listening to them, doing town halls talking to them and understanding what they need and make sure they get what they need, you know?
Starting point is 00:34:23 So when you win, when I win, we're not saying, absolutely. When you win, are you, do you want to be representative, Dr. Heavenly or do we drop the doctor or? Titles don't matter to me. Honestly, it really does not. I'm not doing this for a title like some people. You know, you understand that a lot of people are running for politics as usual. You know what I'm saying? They feel like, no, the status quo has got to go.
Starting point is 00:34:44 The status quo is got People are tired They're sick and tired Of politics as usual They need somebody from outside The room of politics To do this shit right And who most likely to do it
Starting point is 00:34:54 Then Dr. Heavenly Times Who's seen it all Who's done it all Who's not afraid Who you know what I'm saying It's numb to the stuff And we'll get the job done Just like I do great dentistry
Starting point is 00:35:04 Just like I do great reality TV I'm gonna do a great job As your Congresswoman You're making me believe it Don't believe it now I don't know what there's something wrong With your ass Well, thank you so much for being here.
