Mention It All - Is It Time For A Kim Zolciassance? (RHOA, RHOC, The Valley)

Episode Date: August 1, 2025

This week, as RHOA’s season comes to a close, Kim Zolciak’s WWHL appearance raises an important question: is it time for a comeback? Dylan kicks off today’s episode with an internal debate on th...is topic, before sharing some final thoughts on the RHOA reunion. Speaking of reunions, he also has lots of reactions to The Valley’s first reunion episode, where we learn Jax’s preferred method of birth control (none) and Kristen scores some points in her war with Janet. Later, Dylan recaps another banger RHOC episode, and has some words of caution for newbie Steph on RHOM. Starting point is 00:00:28 See Store Online for details. Betches Media presents. Ha ha, laugh, funny. Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast. We don't say that, but now we said it. With me, Dylan Hafer. We're going to check me, though. Hey, everyone.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Welcome back to the Mention at All podcast. We have made it to Friday. And we've got a lot going on. We wrapped up the Atlanta reunion this week. The Valley reunion began. We've got Miami. We've got O.C. Lots to get into.
Starting point is 00:01:00 But first, I want to just give a reminder that over on our YouTube channel. You can watch full video episodes on Tuesdays. This week we had Gertie on the podcast. She was talking all things, Julia, all things Miami. We got into a lot of it. So definitely go check that out if you haven't had a chance. YouTube.com slash at Bravo by Betches. And here we are. Last night, we had the return of one Kim Zolsiak to watch what happens live. You know, I checked out the clips. I was intrigued. I think Kim is somebody who is obviously. obviously an iconic, you know, Bravo Golden Age housewives name. And she's been a little bit in the wilderness in the last few years. And so I was interested, you know, now that Ariana has
Starting point is 00:01:47 been on Next Gen NYC and had a lot of, you know, positive reactions from that show, kind of like, what is Kim's next, what's her next move? She's been on a couple of, you know, random shows here and there. I don't, you know, to the two of you. You know, to the two of you, that watched the surreal life. I hope that was fun. But watching her on Watch What Happens Live, I was trying to figure out if I could envision a chemistence on Real Housewives of Atlanta, especially knowing they just wrapped up their reunion this week. Where does Kim Zelsiak belong in 2025, in 26, knowing that that's probably when we'll see Atlanta again? And like, I don't want to say I'm not open to it. But I also do.
Starting point is 00:02:33 don't, there's something with Kim that, like, she has a very specific energy. And I just don't know that she belongs in a space like Real Housewives of Atlanta anymore. I think it worked while it worked. And that was a specific kind of alchemy with NeNe and Choray and Candy back in the day. But the idea of Kim's Olsiac, like, having to, before. friend, Portia, or having to, you know, get to know Kelly and Angela or, you know, Shamia. It just like doesn't make sense in my head. And I also think there was something on Watch What Happens Live.
Starting point is 00:03:18 There were a few moments where things came up about the money situation or, you know, the, bills, you know, they asked about the Ariana money that Ariana said her mom took from her and spent on NextGen NYC. And she was like, oh, I was going to pay bills. And, you know, the Zolsiacs, we had the rug pulled out from under us. So I had to, you know, work fast. And she claims that she's reimbursed Ariana for the bills that she paid, which I, I have my doubts, but go off.
Starting point is 00:03:53 But she seemed a little bit like a little bit nervous or unwilling to kind of really be open about certain things that have happened in her life. Obviously, we know there's been a lot of back and forth with the finances and the divorce and the home getting foreclosed or whether it's not or it's getting auctioned or, you know, selling furniture on Instagram stories or, you know, selling a wig to the Watch What Happens Live Clubhouse. It seems like Kim has had a lot of turmoil in her personal and financial life in the last few years and that whether or not this is her choice or something a lawyer is telling her, she doesn't seem to be quite able to be open and honest about that. And I think that if she were to come back to housewives, it would need to be clear kind of where
Starting point is 00:04:46 those things stand. Need to know exactly where she is with Croix. Are they together? Are they getting divorced? Is she single? You know, what's going on with the finances? What's going on with the house? All of that stuff feels like if she were on.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Housewives, it would sort of be fair game in a way that I just don't know if she's, you know, willing or able to put up. And also, it's just like, I do think there's that little, little bit of Kim that's just like a little bit distasteful. And I don't know if we need to go back to that place. You know, last time she came back on Real Housewives of Atlanta, that season, you know, where she said she saw a cockroach and Nini's house and then it was a whole thing at the reunion. and that didn't end great. And so I think if I'm either party in that equation, I'm not sure I would want to go back to those waters.
Starting point is 00:05:37 But I guess this is a good place to sort of just chat a little bit about Real House Eyes of Atlanta where we're leaving off this season, part three of the reunion. I thought overall their reunion was pretty good, not an all-timer, but engaging. Three parts, they had a good amount of stuff to get into. Of course, it's a little unfortunate that, Brit didn't show up to the reunion.
Starting point is 00:05:59 You know, Kenya was not invited to the reunion. So there were just some of the situations that felt the most juicy or, you know, substantial within the season. We didn't get the full kind of satisfying conclusion to in the reunion. And that's just a tough spot for them to be in. And obviously, that wasn't anybody's fault. Well, not anybody's fault that was actually there. But, you know, I think they did a good job with what they had.
Starting point is 00:06:29 I thought that actually the gentleman segment where we had, it was, what a motley crew we have on this Atlanta cast now when they bring out the men. Because Shemio's husband didn't want to touch this reunion with a 10-foot pole or a 10-inch pole, as Brittany would say. Brittany Cartwright, that is not our sweet, beloved, departed Britney on Atlanta. No, but so Gerald didn't want to come. you know, Portia, you know, Simon's not available. Let's just say that. Kelly's man, our, you know, X isn't there, obviously. So we're left with Charles Oakley, you know, congratulations to him on showing up. He, you know, as he said, where are y'all husbands at? I'm the only husband here. He has a point. Dennis is there. And it's just as like, imagining a few years ago that Dennis
Starting point is 00:07:24 would be at a future Real House Stories of Atlanta reunion, kind of just as much for Drew as he was for Portia. Just a strange turn of events. And he's like, why aren't you and Porsche matching? It's like, sir, they haven't been together in, what, five years? Why would they be matching? And then Ralph is there too. And, man, Ralph continuing to show up and film for this show.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I mean, I guess he's like helping to secure the housewife's paycheck for Drew which then helps, you know, they're raising kids together and I'm sure he's requesting alimony because he seems like that kind of guy. So I guess him participating in the show despite it being some sort of humiliation ritual is benefiting him still in the long run.
Starting point is 00:08:14 But man, I just feel like if I were in Ralph's position, which I don't think I ever would be because I try not to be like a horrible person. I just think I would have stopped filming for this show like three seasons ago. And Drew has only been here for like four. He has never once looked good on this show. And I think, I mean, on the reunion, like the best thing people can say about him is like, he is a good dad.
Starting point is 00:08:45 He cares about the kids. And it's like, okay, but not enough to not. want to make their mom's life a living hell. If you're such a good dad and you want your kids to be like having the best, you know, experience of this divorce or whatever, I guess they're not even telling them. Like, don't be in the basement harassing her over text or locking her out of the house, changing the door codes. There's just a little bit of a disconnect.
Starting point is 00:09:13 And I feel this with a lot of the men on Bravo where we'll be like, oh, yeah, like he's he's that, he's a dog, he's a devil, he's, you know, the scum of the earth. But man, what a, he's a good father. He's a good dad. And it's just like, okay, but if you're at a certain point, like, being a father isn't a completely separate part of your life from all your other relationships and interactions. Like, it has to work as a part of the whole. And I just think like this Ralph and Drew situation, And it's like, they've got to figure it out. And I mean, for Drew's sake, for the kids' sake, for Pastor Jeanette's sake, I mean, good God, give that woman a break.
Starting point is 00:10:01 And for Ralph's sake, too, move on. If you hate Drew so much, get out of her house. Cut the deal. Sign the papers. A lot of men, you know, we're going to talk about the Valley reunion. A lot of feet being dragged with divorce papers. And I would just like to say, I've, you know, I've never been divorced because I've never been married.
Starting point is 00:10:23 So, you know, everybody's situation is different, of course. Sign the fucking papers. Or at least, like, read them and make your notes and send them back. These shenanigans, it's too much. I know, but we do get a bit more clarity in the Portia and Shemia department. Maybe not about how they're going to move forward in their relationship because there's not a lot of progress. They still have a lot of work to do. But interestingly, we get a little more context about the situation with their moms.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Because we found out during the season that Portia and Shamiya's moms had been friends for a long time. And then they had had some mysterious falling out a while back. And this was sort of something that was in the background of Portia and Shemia's relationship. And obviously, at a certain point, they didn't let it get. to them, but then now it seems to be, you know, simmering near to the surface. And Portia says they have, in the past, they have said, oh, I don't want to get into, you know, that's not our, you know, I don't want to talk ill of somebody else's mom. But so it sounds like, this is what Portia says. So both Shamiya and Portia's mothers are in the child care business, let's say. Running daycares,
Starting point is 00:11:42 owning daycares, I don't know. I don't know who, what the hierarchy of. the daycare empire of the greater Atlanta metro area is, but both of them are in the game, let's say. So Portia says that Shamia's mom bought Portia's mom's daycare location that was in foreclosure behind her back. So that Portia's mom was, you know, going through it, oh, this is in foreclosure, it's a tough time. And Shamia's mom to her face was like supportive. Oh, that's terrible. you'll get through this, yada, yada, yada. And then secretly is like, hey, foreclosure bank, however that works, I would like to cut a check and buy this and not telling Portia's mom about it. It sounds a little shady.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Sounds a little shady. Now, Shamiya, of course, responds. She says that that is not the root of their issue, that there's other stuff. It's unclear. You know, it sounds like she doesn't agree exactly with the way that Porsche talks. told this story, but that perhaps there's some, you know, the transaction happened. It sounds like probably is true. But Shamiya maintains that she doesn't want to get into all of the mom stuff. She's like, I, let's put the kibosh on that respectfully. And I mean, I don't disagree. I like
Starting point is 00:13:05 now that we have a little bit of an inkling of what it was about. They weren't fighting over a man. They weren't fighting over some, you know, honestly, like it being sort of like business drama. I'm like, oh, that's not what I would have expected. And I am more intrigued, but I also understand you don't want to talk about the mothers. It's like you don't talk about the kids. You don't talk about the moms. You don't talk about the husband. There's a lot of stuff we're not supposed to talk about.
Starting point is 00:13:32 It's hard to keep track. No, but Cynthia's trying to kind of moderate this argument. And I appreciate her for that. She's like, actually, you know, Britt was the one who said that Chimea was showing the text messages. and Portia said to let it go. And it's a lot of game of telephone. And last week I was talking about the alliances that they're getting into and, you know, who was supposed to be loyal to who.
Starting point is 00:13:59 And Portia says that they had this beautiful friendship before the show and during filming, Shamiya was the one that kind of took it left. And Shemia, like, is owning that she shouldn't have talked about her and Portia's issues to the other women in the group. But she, like, had to. and Drew's like, I didn't ask. You literally were like venting to us. It's complicated.
Starting point is 00:14:19 It's, it's a lot of stuff. And I think that hopefully, you know, Andy's almost coaching Shamiya too, saying that like, Porsche has always wanted you to be on the show. This seems like something that like you have to be comfortable with. And now that you're going to be on the show, like speaking your truth and not getting, you know, not holding things back. and I think that hopefully by next season, they will be able to sort of meet on more of a level playing field
Starting point is 00:14:51 because it does feel like Shamiya is sort of getting in her own way a little bit with some of these issues that she has maybe an internal thing of like, oh, I'm going to stop myself from saying the thing I really want to say. Or I don't know how to go about this or if I want to bring this up. And like, honestly, I mean, Portia's been here a long time. She's been through the ups and the downs. I think you could say this season was like not even one of her best. But Portia is not really having that like second guess of how she's showing up on the show.
Starting point is 00:15:26 And I think that hopefully as Shamiya, you know, maybe gets more comfortable and maybe sort of feels like she belongs here. Because I think she does. I think that this season, you know, Shami also had her ups and downs. but at the end of the day, I think she was a really good addition to the show this year. And so I hope that they can kind of, if not like, make up and be besties next season, I hope that it can feel like they are more communicating with each other on the same level. And Cynthia says, you know, the love is there, but the healing hasn't happened. She gets a little Whitney Rose with that.
Starting point is 00:16:04 She's like, the healing has to happen. they need to work on getting that foundation solid. And, you know, now they have some time to do so. I mean, I don't know that they're going to brunch and loving on each other in the off season. But never say never. Life is long, but also life is short. And I hope they can be friends again. And Angela, as she says, she's too big to sit on anybody's lap.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Angela Kind of low-key Breakout Star of the season The Fangulas are out in full force You know, Charles Oakley is Explaining away this side baby story With some, you know, non-sequitur About Wendy Williams, I don't know
Starting point is 00:16:49 Where that was going But you know, Angela and Charles I think are now like a main fixture of this show I'm excited for Atlanta to hopefully just keep trucking. I hope they get back into filming on a good timeline. I hope that they continue to just keep the momentum that they started with this season. I do really want to see Shire.
Starting point is 00:17:18 That's the thing. I don't know why they won't just give us Sharray. Shiree and Charles Oakley used to date. And he's not even denying it. He's like, we weren't like a relationship relationship, but like we would date. I would absolutely love to see Angela and Cheray navigate that. Just like, she can be a friend of. Cynthia was an excellent friend of this season.
Starting point is 00:17:43 Let Cheray, let Cherie be great. So we can all be great together. That's my plea. Hear my cry. I would much rather have Shiree back than Kim Zolsiak. Let's just say that. So good, so good. Everything you want for summer is at Nordstrom Rack stores now.
Starting point is 00:18:03 and up to 60% off. Stock up and save on the brands you love, like Vince, Sam Edelman, Frame, and Free People. Join the Nordi Club to unlock exclusive discounts, shop new arrivals first, and more. Plus, buy online and pick up at your favorite rack store for free. Great brands, great prices. That's why you rack.
Starting point is 00:18:25 Girl, winter is so last season. And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you. cutoffs, you're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders. That perfect hang on the patio sundress. Those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've had enough of shopping from your couch. Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope. It's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross. Work your magic. The Valley reunion off to a rollicking start, I would say. It's their first reunion, which feels kind of
Starting point is 00:19:02 crazy. And oh my God, the couches are so long. It's like Andy is basically in the corner and then it's like two long straight couches. It's like multiple, it's like multiple couches because there's like, it's weird. There's like Jason and Janet are like sitting with an armrest in between them. And I'm like, wouldn't they be on the same? I don't know. I don't envy whoever has to like find the furniture that all, you know, 55 people from the Valley cast can fit on. But I'm glad they are having a reunion because it's it's pretty spicy so far. Obviously, you know, Jackson, Brittany, their situation has continued to develop since the season filmed. Michelle and Jesse, we have some, you know, some updates going on there. We don't even really get into in part one any of the Danny and
Starting point is 00:19:51 Janet stuff, like all of that that's been happening this season. We don't really get into Kristen and Janet at all. Zach, I feel like barely speaks in part one. So, When you think about a first time reunion for a show like this, they have a lot to get to. And we, it feels like, have just scratched the surface. So I'm excited for what's to come. We do get a little bit of Kristen and Janet because at the very beginning, you know, when Andy's kind of checking in with everyone, right off the bat, Kristen and smart girl, she takes the opportunity to apologize to Janet for threatening to beat her ass, for calling her a whore.
Starting point is 00:20:28 for, you know, some of the more, I would say, out of pocket things that she has said to Janet during the season. And I feel like this is such a veteran move from Kristen because she knows that she's going to have other stuff later, that it's going to be like more of a knockdown drag out probably. And her apologizing to Janet at the beginning is not a sign, I don't think, that she and Janet are going to be hunky dory moving forward. it's a sign that Kristen knows she has other, she has other battles. She's going to have to fight. And that calling Janet a whore isn't actually a battle worth fighting because like she
Starting point is 00:21:06 says, I know that's not true. Like, right. Like, Janet is a married woman with a baby. So Kristen kind of scores herself some easy points. Like she,
Starting point is 00:21:17 she hits that easy layup right, right off the bat, knowing that she's going to be like battling, you know, in the paint later. So I'm excited to see that. No, but this week's episode is mostly devoted, I would say, to Brittany and Jacks, because they just have, God, they are so, just, it's so toxic. Right off the bat, Andy says, Jacks, how does it feel to be wearing clothes that aren't merch from your bar?
Starting point is 00:21:46 God, that was a good burn. It's very, it's very, uh, Teresa and Louis in the last season of New Jersey, just wearing. their podcast merch the whole time. No, but Andy asks for an update about the divorce. And Brittany says that a few days ago, Jack said that he's prolonging the divorce so he can ask for alimony if he gets kicked off the show. Because this is clearly a topic that has been an issue
Starting point is 00:22:15 in their relationship for years, which is just so lech, that Jack's is very, very, very, aware of who in their relationship is making more money. And he can either use that in a way when it suits him. Like, Brittany's making more money. I'm going to use that to get alimony. Or he can use that to, you know, make their lives miserable and say, oh, Britney is making more money during the pandemic or whatever. I'm going to take that out on her and be a fucking tyrant in our relationship. Like just the the control and the manipulation. And again, I've talked about this in recent episodes,
Starting point is 00:22:59 Brittany really now being past the point where any of this is like working on her is so refreshing to see because she says, you know, he's holding out the divorce pipers to see if he can get alimony if he gets kicked off the show. And Jackson's like, no, no, no, no, that's, it's half true. He says, I'm actually holding up the divorce papers over our podcast feed. again with the fucking podcast feed. Can I just like give them a podcast feed? Like Jacks, I don't know. Do we have one lying around with like some, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:23:33 Like it's a get over yourself. Nobody wants to hear you talk anyway. But then he kind of like, even when he's saying that, he kind of like doesn't seem to really, you know, stand by it. Like he knows that he's lying about all this stuff. So at the end of the day, it's like, yeah, whatever. If they, if the people of America know I'm lying to, then. it is what it is.
Starting point is 00:23:55 And then Andy's asking about vasectomies within the cast, because obviously Danny is very vocal about four under four and this is the last one. And Jacks is like, oh, I want a vasectomy. And Andy's like, oh, you do? And Brittany's like, yeah, because if he doesn't get a vasectomy, he's going to have 20 baby mama's running around. And Jacks is like, yeah, I just, um. And Andy's like,
Starting point is 00:24:23 well, do you use birth control? And Jack Taylor, you can tell that to him, the idea of a man having to think about birth control is something that has never crossed his mind before. He's like, hmm, birth control? And people are like, yeah, like condoms. And he's like, ah, yeah, I'm not, uh, jacks Taylor. When do you think the last time Jacks Taylor saw a condom?
Starting point is 00:24:55 Like, is it ever? I'm going to say it might be never. No, I would hope that, see, I don't want to put the pressure, I don't want to put the responsibility on the woman. I would hope that at some point a woman that Jacks Taylor is having sex with would have said, we should use a condom, seeing some of Jacks's priors. I don't think Jacks has ever used a condom by choice. Let's just say that.
Starting point is 00:25:20 I mean, maybe he has. Maybe, I hope he's making, make good choices, everyone. I just don't have that much faith in Jackson, make good choices. Because look at the evidence. No, but there's, there's a lot of stuff about Jackson, Brittany. They're talking about this fight that they had before filming started, which is where he, you know, was throwing furniture and hit her knee and all of this. And he's still trying to deny certain things that she's, you know, she's saying, oh, you threw me into the bushes or something like that. And he's like, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
Starting point is 00:25:53 And she's like, I have the ring camera footage. Again, with the fucking ring camera footage. The Valley at this point should be sponsored by ring. Because they are talking about this shit every fucking episode. The ring camera this. He's installing the ring camera. I'm getting the ring verification code. Check the ring camera.
Starting point is 00:26:13 The valley is like a surveillance state. Oh my God. No, but Brittany, you know, then they're talking about that the impotipot for that fight was that Jacks found out that she was, you know, texting this guy, Julian, and, you know, that it was a month after they separated. And he says it was less than a month. And again, it's like, you guys are getting divorced. It does not matter at this point, or it should not matter at this point. But then Brittany's like, okay, here's the thing. Even if it is a little weird or a little, you know, not ideal that I was talking to this guy,
Starting point is 00:26:46 Julian, that Jacks was allegedly best friends with and dated Law Law. I was with a man. who degraded me, who body shamed me, who yelled at me and called me a tree trunk for having stretch marks after having his baby. So yeah, he took my sparkle. My sparkle was gone. Now, Jacks rolls his eyes and is a little sick of hearing about the sparkle. And I have to say, I'm not sick of hearing about the sparkle because I think it is one of the funniest things that Brittany has ever come up with. And I know that she, I know that she's serious.
Starting point is 00:27:23 But there's just something, it's so delicious. And I'm not, I'm not enjoying her pain. But there's something so, just hearing her, hearing her say that. You took my sparkle.
Starting point is 00:27:36 It's like such a, it's such a, like, frivolous thing to say, but she means it so, so seriously, that I kind of am like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:27:44 he did take your sparkle. You get that. fucking sparkle back queen. You shine bright, shine fire, be a star. Anybody else like life size? Okay, just me. They're contradicting each other on pretty much everything because she says she wouldn't touch that dirty date with a 10 inch pole.
Starting point is 00:28:04 And he's like, well, that's not what you said four months ago when we went to the aquarium. And then you said that at Hooters that we should hook up one more time. And she's like, doubtful. No. Miss Brittany, I could believe it. She says she was drunk. She doesn't know what happened at the Hooters. Why are they going to a Hooters?
Starting point is 00:28:26 Because I'm like, if you were at the aquarium, I'm assuming that's an activity you would be doing with Cruz, like a co-parenting vibe, which is fine. That's the kind of thing they should be doing together, if anything. But then was Cruz still there when you went to Hooters? I, okay, I have never been to a Hooters. So keep me honest. Is Hooters a place you could take like a four-year-old? I don't, I mean, maybe for Brittany because it's like her homeland. She's like, I got a show my baby where I got my start.
Starting point is 00:29:00 I just think there's more family-friendly restaurants. Not to be like, you know, purity culture. I'm not a prude. Does fooders have an age limit? I don't know. These are questions that I have. have. That's all I'll say. We also get some updates on Jesse and Michelle. That's the last thing I'm going to touch on for the Valley. Jesse is representing himself in their divorce, which is just like,
Starting point is 00:29:24 look, I know that the finances might be an issue, but this feels like a deeply cursed situation. And Michelle says that he wants her to pay back half of the money from their wedding years ago. Now, there has to be some, like, is that legal? That can't be legal. California, as I have come to learn from reality TV divorces, is a community property state. But if the money you spend on your wedding, I guess would technically be before you're married, I don't know. Either way, get a fucking life. Asking your soon-to-be ex-wife to pay you back half the money for the wedding, get a job, go to work, make a commission.
Starting point is 00:30:10 That's what I would say to Jesse. the girls are all trying to tell Jesse that his girlfriend, his new girlfriend, has been talking shit about him in the streets or at some party at Tom Tom, same thing. He doesn't believe it. Literally all of them are saying it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:28 I'm curious like next season kind of where we'll pick up with Jesse and Michelle because like Michelle now seemingly isn't with Aaron anymore. Jesse, it seems like there's a lot of question marks about this relationship that he has. it seems like their divorce is in a possibly in a better place than Jackson, Brittany's, but also, I don't know, it seems like what I will say, I think they're doing a better job with the co-parenting, it seems like, but maybe still hate each other just as much.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Whereas Jackson, Brittany, he's still making her life a living hell, but I don't know where things are with Cruz. He's passing his drug tests, that's good. Andy really doesn't believe that Jacks is not on steroids, which is just like a fun little, a fun little dynamic. No, but, you know, Easter was fun. And then the next day he was starting to fight, going through trash cans, counting condoms, all of that.
Starting point is 00:31:18 So Jack's not being on the show next season is just, can't come soon enough. Good sleep is everything. That's why Ali's science back support is made with a blend of melatonin and L. Deonine for both kiddos and grown-ups. So when your mind won't switch off, you've got something that can help. Starting point is 00:31:49 This episode is brought to you by Redfin. But Redfin isn't just built for endless browsing. It's built to help you find and own a home. With agents who close twice as many deals, when you find the one,
Starting point is 00:32:12 got a real shot at getting it. Get started at redfin.com. Own the dream. Over in, over in O.C., Katie is really just still, you know, she's stuck in the mud. She's trying to claw her way out of that mud pit and nobody's letting her because she keeps getting cotton lies and she keeps talking to creators. Now, I don't know that I love. My girl Kiki Monique, she's been on this show before she hosts.
Starting point is 00:32:44 Reality Checked on Radio Andy. To me, like, Katie chatting with Kiki Monique is like a little bit of a different thing than like going on, you know, her daughter going on some random podcast or like Emily's nanny talking shit about her. Like that's like there are different levels of like creators, air quotes creators, journalists, podcasters. Like not all people that talk about these shows are created equal. and that's, I don't even want to place myself on that scale. Like, I'm not saying I'm better or worse than anyone else. But just like, in general, talking to somebody who is like a commentator is not always the same. But the thing with Katie is that it's clearly a bit of a pattern.
Starting point is 00:33:34 And I think especially being the newest person still on the cast, because remember, there are no newbies this season. And so Katie, for all intents and purposes, is still the new girl that when you first arrive on this platform and are seen to be making a lot of these relationships, getting maybe a little bit excited and carried away by the fact that people are going to be in your DMs wanting to talk shit and wanting to, you know, gossip and share rumors that they've heard and start rumors with you. it's, I think, really easy for new Housewives and new Bravo cast members in general to kind of get swept up in that. And it seems like Katie, between last season and this season, maybe made some questionable choices about who she has spent time with, who she has been talking to. And whether or not those individual conversations or relationships are actually problematic, they are becoming problematic. for her within this group because the women perceive them as questionable. So that's the thing. I just feel like for Katie, you know, she storms out of Heather's party at the beginning
Starting point is 00:34:55 of the episode because her attempt to talk to and apologize to Shannon has not been received well, you know, later in the episode, Heather and Gina are talking about, you know, this Kiki Monique thing and hearing that Jen asked Kiki Monique to put out negative stories about the Debrose. Like there's just a lot of, there's a lot of whirlwind around it. And I think that it's going to be tough for her to sort of pick that back up. Because Gina even says, she's like, look, I like Katie. I want to be friends with Katie.
Starting point is 00:35:32 But it's hard because she just keeps not telling. the truth. When Gina is the one that's kind of being like she needs to get her story straight, Gina's not the best at that. So I think you're not in a great spot when she's the one that's like giving you notes on how you need to approach these women.
Starting point is 00:35:57 But anyway, that's enough on Katie. Backing up a little bit. Tamara bringing Joe, Joe De La Rosa of O.C.O.G. fame to Heather's party is just like so stupid and messy. Like this woman, she just happens to bring her to the party two weeks after Gretchen has rejoined the show. That's casual. And for Gretchen, I kind of get where she's coming from when she feels like Tamara is still obsessed with her. And it's like, I mean, it does take two to tango.
Starting point is 00:36:32 I think with Tamara and Gretchen, the problem is a little bit that it's like, it's a pot and kettle situation. They both still hate each other. They both still want to get in each other's, you know, grill. But they also both want to act like they don't care that much anymore. And later in the episode, when Gretchen is with Emily and Shannon, and she's like, I just, why on earth would I, after all these years, have interest in smoothing things over or pursuing a friendship with Tamara Judge? It's like, yeah, but also.
Starting point is 00:37:07 you have come back to the show that she has been on for all of these years. You guys were on the platform together in the first place, but at this point, you can't deny that this is a lot more Tamara's show than it is Gretchen's. And so it's a little bit, it feels a little disingenuous to me to come back after over a decade to the show that is more or less the Tamara show and has been for a long time. I'm not saying it's Tamara's show, but Tamara territory. Let's just say that. You're going to come back to this platform and be like, why is everyone asking me about Tamara? Like, come on. Come on now. Gratchin. You know. You knew. That's why you're here. That's like your biggest connection still to the cast is that you and Tamara still fucking hate each other. And I'm interested, I mean, I'm interested to see where it goes.
Starting point is 00:38:04 No, but Tamara walks into this party as Katie is leaving, and Katie and her husband, Matt, get into it with Tamara in the parking lot because they're walking by it. And Tamara's like, oh my God, is it okay? Why are you leaving? And Matt's like, don't talk to her. Don't talk to her. You started this. Why are you acting like you care? Okay, Matt, I was unfamiliar with your game, but also careful.
Starting point is 00:38:32 Because when the husbands get involved with the wives, it doesn't always. go super well, so just like, careful. But no, Katie, so Katie's blaming Tamara for her issues with Shannon because Tamara was the one who brought up at, I believe it was the hot pot lunch or some other lunch. I don't know. All the lunches start to run together. But Tamara brought up this recording that Katie had made of Shannon at the reunion last year. And so in Katie's mind, her issues with Shannon are solely, you know, Tamara's to blame, which like, on one hand, yes. On the other hand, At two K-Tay, like you made the, you made the voice memo. At a certain point, it's like, is it worse that you did it?
Starting point is 00:39:13 Or is it worse that somebody else called you out for doing it? And I think that that's a battle that, like, most of the time you're not going to win because at the root of it, Shannon is still going to say, it's fucked up that you did that. She's not saying it's fucked up that Tamara told people that you did that. And that's Shannon. I mean, she will take any opportunity to make Tamara look bad. Let's be real. Oh, no, but Tamara and Jen, they have their big sit down at the end of the episode, and that has been, you know, building up for a bit at the party. Jen is just like, you know, I don't want to have a fight here, but I do want to talk.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Conceive from 55 miles away that this is not going to go well for them. They sit down there at this Mexican restaurant, a beautiful patio, and Jen is like, where did it all go wrong for us? Where did it go so south for you with me? And Tamara's like, well, is that that dinner at Katie's house when Ryan called Eddie a baby bitch or whatever. And I knew that you can dish it out, but you can't take it. And so I had built up anger. And I love, I love like the way that they're communicating with each other because when Jen is like, okay, here's, let's do it this way. Because this is what works for you.
Starting point is 00:40:27 And Tamara's like, don't be condescending. Don't be condescending. I don't know who the hell you think you are, but you're not. She's like, I'm not what? You think you're better than me and, you know, talking to Heather about bringing yourself down to my level. And it's all this back and forth. She's like, I'm not the one that got caught, got evicted, got caught cheating.
Starting point is 00:40:48 And then they're going back and forth about cheating and whether Tamara cheated on Simon with Eddie. And that's the whole thing that will just like never get real answers on. So again, why are we talking about it? And then Tamara's like, well, you, you started wearing my clothes and my hair and going to my gym. And she's like, I didn't go to your gym. I didn't know who you were.
Starting point is 00:41:08 They are just, it's so like tit for tat with them in a way that I kind of am eating up because they just, they're kind of the same person. Oh, but they hate each other so much. And so watching that, like at no point was there a chance that this conversation was going to be like a calm and tranquil meeting of the minds. It just was never going to happen. And there is this woman, oh, this queen sitting across the patio with a big old margarita, sipping it and looking on with glee. And I just like, madame, if you're, if you're listening to this, slide into my DMs because I'd love to chat. I just, oh my God, it's my dream to be at a
Starting point is 00:41:53 restaurant when the house size are fighting 10 feet away. My dream. make it come true. Even just the inside scoop from somebody else who's been there. No, but Tamara and Jen, not leaving off on a good foot, but that's kind of where we're at. Miami was fun this week. I feel like we talked a lot of Miami. Like I said, Gertie was on Tuesday's episode. So if you haven't listened to that, make sure you do.
Starting point is 00:42:20 But overall, the one thing I want to call out on Miami this week, I'm going to keep myself to this one thing. Stephanie, you endanger girl. When she takes Larsa for the tour of this house, and she's like bragging about this beautiful house that Masood built with his ex-wife, but she wanted to get renovated because it was too Persian. First of all, weird thing to say. And then she's like yapping about all the great things
Starting point is 00:42:47 she's adding to the house. She's like, oh, there's going to be this, there's going to be that. There's going to be a separate entrance for the staff. So they don't have to use my entrance. I really want her to like take a step back and realize that like not everybody watching this show is like on the same page with her about like this like boss bitch fantasy. And that bragging about making your servants use a separate door is actually like not necessarily something that's going to be interpreted as like cute and aspirational. I remember, I think it was Kendall Jenner got flamed for this a few years back because she did one of those architectural digest open door videos. And she was in her glam room. I think it was Kendall. If it was Kylie, I'm sorry. And she's like, isn't it great? There's a door to the outside from the glam room. So none of the people that work for me have to like traips through the whole house. They can just like come around back. Yeah, that makes you seem like an elitist asshole. Just saying. Now, I am a little team Stephanie at the end of the episode when she says Alexia the Rottweiler.
Starting point is 00:44:00 And Alexi's like, well, fuck you, Stephanie. I have a name. My name is Alexia. And she's like, you called yourself the Rottweiler. You said, I'm the Joe Wawa. You're the Rottweiler. It's a joke. Yeah, real funny, Stephanie. Just like classic Alexia. Like, she just loud and wrong in a way that I just really enjoy watching. This cast does loud and wrong really well. You know, Larsa does loud and wrong. Lisa does it too. I mean, pretty much all of them. at one time or another. No, but my, I mean, the yacht. Just never go on a boat. Never go on a boat. That's a good housewives rule of thumb. Nothing good ever happens when you put housewives on a boat. But hopefully something good has happened today.
