Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With me, Dylan Hafer.
We're going to check me, though.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention It All podcast and another Friday episode.
We are recording on Friday morning, live in the studio.
So we're caught up on everything and we're going to talk about, I guess you could say we're going to mention it all.
We are finally going to get back into NextGen.
YC this week was the finale. And we also got some news about how this season has been performing.
So I think it's interesting to take a look at kind of this season as a whole. I haven't had a chance
to talk about it the last few weeks. So sharing some thoughts there. We're going to talk about the
valley finale. Oh, the valley finale. That has a nice ring to it. No, but they've had a certainly an
interesting season. We've got a reunion coming up. We're going to talk about some stuff there.
a little bit of Atlanta, a little bit of O.C., a little bit of Miami.
Three Housewives shows, it's a lot to get to. It's a lot to dig into. So let's get started.
But before we do, I just want to shout out, as always, our YouTube channel, bravo by betches,
YouTube.com slash at Bravo by Betches. Earlier this week, we had Ezra Sosa, who you may know,
or you may not know, but I think you're going to like him. He's a pro on Dancing with the Stars.
He's like this Gen Z gay guy pro on Dancing with the Stars.
He's from Utah, went to BYU, has a very, like, interesting background.
Also a reality TV fan, just like the rest of us.
So we talked about a lot of interesting stuff.
So go check out that episode if you haven't already.
And next week, we've got another Miami Housewife.
And it's somebody who, she might be in the hot seat a little bit after this week's episode.
So stay tuned for that.
You can subscribe to Bravo by Betches on YouTube.
so you never miss an episode. And now you can also watch these video episodes on Spotify. Very exciting
stuff. Thanks for all your views and comments and everything. And let's just keep it going.
I want to start by shouting out this account on TikTok that I have been obsessed with the last few weeks.
And it is this woman, Diana, her TikTok handle is just at bad extensions. And you might be able to guess what she posts about.
She is a hair stylist who specializes in K-tip extensions, which are like very, you know, high
quality, like those individual hair extensions that like bond to your hair, whatever.
She knows what she's talking about.
And she has been making these videos digging into some of our favorite or potentially least
favorite housewives, depending on, you know, who you like and evaluating the quality of their
hair extensions that we see on the show.
And I am just fascinating.
She's been talking mostly about OC and Miami because those have been, you know, the shows that have been on where there are a lot of extensions going on.
And it's so interesting because there are sometimes where to the untrained eye, you can tell that there's a really problematic extension situation going on.
I mean, Gina Kersheniter, God lover, she's been through the ringer, dragged through a hedge backwards with her extensions.
Anybody can see that.
But this woman, Diana, is able to really dive into the nuances, to whether somebody has a good color match or not to their extensions, whether somebody's extensions are sitting properly on their head or whether, you know, sometimes if these women have weft extensions where it's like a strip of hair that's been added, if they're, you know, not placed correctly or if the weight is off, there's a lot that goes into it. I'm learning a lot. I'm laughing a lot.
Bad extensions on TikTok has been really fun.
And fun fact, the person who has the best extensions out of everyone, she's talked about, Alexia.
She's like, Alexia's hair is gorgeous.
It always looks perfect.
The color matches flawless.
These are definitely K-tips.
They're always styled perfectly.
And another thing I think is funny.
So she's gone through most of the Miami women.
And Lisa, she's specifically pointed out, used to have really excellent, beautiful extensions.
And now, you know, the last season or two, you can tell that there's been some, some corners being cut in the hair extension department.
You know, Lenny's not paying for those anymore.
It's, it's really fascinating.
I love when somebody has, like, a very specific expertise that isn't something that I would be able to know about.
And so at bad extensions on TikTok, I would recommend a follow or a peruse.
Now, let's get into next gen NYC.
Now, I feel like this is sort of, it's reminiscent of the valley last year.
where there's a new show that has some familiar faces, but it's, you know, packaged in a different
way. And when it's first announced, it feels like something that is just like not really what we
want to see. You know, people are always asking for, we want more housewives, we want more
opulence and glamour, and we want, you know, rich women fighting. And so to say, okay, you're going to
watch these dozen 20-something rich adjacent kids in New York City and four of them are going to be
housewives kids, but maybe not the ones you actually would want. It was a little bit of a
tough proposition. I was not super excited to start watching this show. And honestly, like,
throughout the season, I wasn't always keeping up week to week. I had a few episodes to watch
this week for the finale. And I got to say, they really.
they pulled it out. It was not a perfect season. It's not the best thing I've ever watched. It's not my
favorite show ever. But I think that this season, it was only eight episodes, and they had a lot of
interesting dynamics at play. And I think maybe some things that they knew they were getting when they
cast this show and some things that maybe were unexpected and came up in the moment. But it really
came together in a way that I thought was pretty compelling. And I think having the four
housewives kids and then the rest of the cast sort of having mixed feelings about being in that
dynamic, it was really, it was fascinating to watch. Like Charlie and Georgia and Ava specifically
kind of like bump up against this NEPO thing, even though, I mean, especially Ava, but
they all exist within this bubble of rich kids whose parents are, you know, helping them at least
in some way or they're coming from a lot of privilege and, you know, the idea of privilege
and whether or not, you know, Georgia's like, I pay my own rent. How could that be privilege?
It's like, oh, it's a lot. But I was kind of, I was kind of gripped by these last few episodes.
So it's like the arc that Charlie and Georgia go on where they're having this conversation and they're,
you know, he's calling her like a, you know, a bitch and, you know, just like calling her all these names and
she hates him and they're, he's calling her poor and all this stuff.
And then by the end of the show, they're at this Jersey Shore thing and they want to, you know,
they don't want to stop at the gas station for snacks.
First of all, you're driving home from the Jersey Shore.
You're in the car for hours and you don't want to stop at the gas station for snacks.
That's not an ally to me.
No, like we need to be getting in the quick trip getting the snacks together.
No, but they're like calling an Uber home to the city together.
And then we flash forward.
Georgia and her, you know, scammy crypto boyfriend have broken up.
So now she can't live in his apartment anymore.
So she and Charlie are roommates.
Oh, a shiver down my spine.
The thought of being inside that apartment, what must it smell like?
What must it, the vibes, the vibes must be just absolutely rancid inside that apartment.
I am super curious, assuming that this show is going to get a season two, because we got some, some news this week.
Deadline first reported, and these numbers, I imagine, must have come in some way from NBC Universal, that the premiere episode of Next Gen NYC is the most watched Bravo season or series premiere ever.
in its first 35 days across multiple platforms with 5.4 million total views.
So a little bit of context for what this means.
In TV ratings, there are standard kind of time viewing windows.
Like there's obviously live ratings, you know, live plus next day, live plus seven days of a week.
And 35 days is kind of the standard window for like a longer look into how something has been viewed past its initial airing.
So that's why we're kind of just now getting this information about the first episode. So we don't have 35 day numbers for the whole season yet. So I'll be interested to see kind of how many of these 5.4 million people watched the first episode and then actually continued to watch after that. But this is taking into account live on Bravo, any re-airings that they've done, anybody watching on a DVR, plus, of course, Peacock. And that's the question. I posted about this earlier this week, these numbers, because obviously it's a, it's a, it's a,
exciting statistic. And people were like, this show was auto playing after everything I watched
on Peacock for like a month. So they were really, I mean, this was clearly an important show to the
network because they were really putting in the algorithm boost to kind of shove it down people's
throats. And it also, it premiered the same day, I believe, as Love Island USA this season. So that
was really like a synergy moment. But suffice to say, they're happy with that.
these numbers. People, you know, I've seen lots of people sharing them. These are encouraging
performance numbers. So I'm assuming that this show is going to get a season two. I'm assuming
that it's going to be, you know, in production probably pretty soon. And I am just so curious
at who all is going to come back for the second season. Because to me, the four housewives kids,
easy. I mean, why would you not? Like, they were the ones that were kind of the buzzy.
names around here. You could debate kind of who had the bigger impact. I think Gia kind of felt like
she took a little bit more of a backseat for a lot of the season. You know, Riley kind of started
out a little bit more, you know, reserved and quiet. And by the end of the season, I think,
is like a super important person on the show. We've gotten a lot of Seth and Meredith along with
Brooks. You know, they're like over on Shark Tank buying a percentage of Brooks's business. Whatever's
going on with that, but I'm more curious. I'm assuming those four will come back.
Of the non-housewives kids, is Charlie going to want to do this again?
Charlie seems to me the least likely person to come back. But then it's like thinking about
people like Ava and Georgia, are they going to be happy with how they've been received
this season or how they've been portrayed on the show? Because I could see for somebody like
Ava, I think she's interesting.
I think that her issues with Riley, her issues with, you know, Georgia, her issues with
Ariana, like, she has a lot of, she's like kind of a low-key villain on the show.
Amira's shading her career, saying that, like, her Dolce and Gabana event is like kind of
not a real, you know, business obligation.
But I don't know.
It's like if I were in her position, what I feel like going through this again was worth it.
I don't know.
And same for Georgia.
Because Georgia is just like, she's a weirdo.
And the show kind of leans into her being a weirdo and not in a way that I is necessarily like, oh, I'm quirky and isn't that amazing.
It's like, no, you're like kind of like fucking weird.
So I don't know.
I don't know if she'll come back.
I do know that club club, the bowling alley club doesn't seem like it's likely to be.
opening its doors in 2025 as she announced.
I,
club club,
it's just the whole thing of her being like,
what could be cooler and less try hard
than just naming the thing what it is?
Like, if it's a shop, you just call it shop.
If it's a bookstore, you just call it bookstore.
If it's a club, you just call it club.
It's like, that is the most tryhard thing I've ever heard.
Club, club.
it's not happening.
It's not happening.
And the little like pop-up event that she did,
just not good.
Not up to the level.
Gertie would not have been satisfied with that event.
She would have had a lot of critiques, let's just say.
No, but I'm excited to see where this show was going to go.
If there are other housewives kids,
they could potentially add, you never know.
But next gen, NYC, congrats on a pretty solid first season.
It's so good.

Girl, Winter, is so last season.
Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you
cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders. That perfect hang on the patio sundress.
Those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've had enough of shopping from your
couch. Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope. It's time for
a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross. Work your magic. Now let's talk about
the valley. This valley finale, the valley finale, it did feel like after last week, ending on that
low note with Jackson, Brittany's just knock down, drag out, you know, manipulation, fight for the
ages. It did feel like we needed to sort of sage the room a little bit for this finale. And, you know,
Kristen is always willing to sage a room. So she's a good person to have around. This episode really
centers on Michelle's Zen party, which is, of course, nothing but Zen and chill and calm and
quiet. Nobody in this cast has anything, you know, anything controversial to say or any arguments
to have with each other. Everybody's just Zen. I do like earlier in the episode, Michelle and
Jesse meet one-on-one, and it feels like they have a little bit of an adult conversation.
And I, that is just, I'm so happy for them because this season, just think about Isabella.
Who will think about Isabella?
Little Isabella.
I just want little Isabella, sweet little Isabella to be okay.
I always, when I talk about Isabella, which is not that much, you know, not like talking about this kid every day.
It reminds me the way they talk about her on big little eyes when Laura Dern's daughter, Amabella is the one that.
gets punched or whatever in the classroom. And it's like sweet little amabella.
Sweet. Who will protect little amabella? That's how I, that's how I picture Isabella on the
valley. No, but they're making positive strides. And this week also, you guys, the news that
dropped Michelle and Aaron have broken up. Can you believe Michelle and Aaron, Aaron, who is the light of her life,
the love of her life, the apple of her eye, the best man she's ever known, the happiest she's
ever been, the knight in shining armor who came to rescue her from this dragon, Jesse.
Aaron and Michelle are no longer together. Oh my God. How will this affect little Isabella?
This is crazy. The way that Michelle talked about this man. And look, I don't have anything against
Aaron. I have no idea the circumstances of this breakup. I have. I have no idea the circumstances of this breakup.
I hope everybody's doing okay.
I don't want to, you know, rub salt in any wounds that might be open and festering right now.
But, oh, my, I mean, Michelle has to be feeling a little bit silly.
She was acting like this man was Jesus Christ himself.
Like, fresh off the cross.
I guess maybe before the cross.
I don't know.
At what point you would want to be, like, dating Jesus before or after the cross.
But whatever.
she was acting like this man could walk on water, walk on a pool of honey.
And seemingly things have not gone so well.
This to me is a great indicator for season three.
Let's get right back into it.
You know, we're going to have some new babies around.
We're not going to have Jacks in the picture.
It's a brand new day, season three of the Valley.
Let's go.
Let's run it back.
Sheena really seems like she wants to be around more.
she takes one last chance to ask Kristen if she brought Jenna around the group to make Janet look bad.
Sheena really kind of like snatching her moments here and there this season.
We also see Lala in the finale.
I don't know what's going to happen there.
We sort of, Lala sort of comes in with Sheena and Janet to have like a shit talking moment about Kristen,
which is a little bit strange to me.
But we saw last week, Sheena kind of hopping on the like, well, you know, Kristen's always just want to
wanted to be with the cool kids.
And so that makes sense why she's like sucking up to Nia.
And now we kind of see Lala piling on there a little bit too.
And this could be, I could see them bringing in Lala and Sheena next season more as like
reserves to balance out the cast on Janet's side.
Because right now Janet has really made life difficult for herself this season.
She has not really made any progress in her issues with Kristen or with Zach.
And if anything, I think she's made things worse, obviously, with Danny, with Nia.
You know, I don't know why anyone in the cast at this point would really want to welcome Janet into a friendship.
And we see this at the Zen party because Janet's like,
you know, I'm going to talk to Nia and I'm going to, you know, work on that, I guess.
And when Janet is talking to Nia, Nia's like, yeah, you know, thanks for saying that.
Thanks for apologizing.
I just think that I need space and time.
So, yeah, we'll see.
But thanks.
And then in the confessional, I love Nia.
She's like, yeah, I don't really need space from Janet or like time to process.
I just kind of like don't want to talk to her right now.
It's like, protect your.
peace queen. Why
dip your toes into a
friendship waters with Janet when
realistically there's a snake in those waters
that's going to bite you again.
No, but I
I'm really excited for where this show
is going to go without Jacks because
we see one last Brittany and Jack's
you know, cursed sit down
in the middle of the Zen party
and you know they're talking about
the divorce papers
and Jacks is like
oh well you know yeah I'm going to have a
lawyer look at them. And Brittany's like, wait, you haven't had a lawyer look at them? And he's like,
no, I mean, I'm going to wait till the last second. I'm going to wait till the last second to have,
to look at those papers. And Brittany's like, Jacks, why? He's like, just because, just because. He's like,
just because. He's really just living to make Britney's life miserable right now, which of course
is rich because last episode when he goes over to the house, he's like, so are you sure you still
want a divorce? You're saying there's not a chance? Like, this man knows exactly what he's doing.
And what he's doing is just like fucking over everybody else just because he feels like it.
And, you know, he's like talking all this stuff about, oh, I would never have a woman over to
the house while Cruz is there. And, you know, I'm working on myself. And I was only rage texting you
from rehab the first two weeks.
Not the whole time.
He's like, no, Jack's the whole time.
It's very Sally Field and Mrs. Dow at Firewood.
The whole time.
No, but he's like, the arguments that Jacks is trying to make, to make himself look better
are just like so out of touch because it's like you're, you're acting like,
claiming that you stopped rage texting her after two weeks in rehab makes you seem like
this chivalrous gentleman.
when, you know, first of all, that's not true.
But also it's like, you would still look like a piece of shit if you texted her for two weeks and then decided to stop.
But she's like, no, the only reason you stopped rage texting me was because I blocked your number so you literally couldn't.
And he's like, yeah, but I was rage texting you because I thought you were stopping me from seeing my son.
And it's like, yeah, you were in rehab.
Go be in rehab.
I mean, that whole thing is just like still so preposterous, the rehab situation.
And I'm curious, like, what Jack's role will be at the reunion, like, if we're going to get any sort of, like, satisfying closure or, you know, growth or development from him.
Again, not holding my breath.
I'm not stupid.
But, like, knowing that this is going to be his last, you know, moments on the show, are we going to.
going to get any kind of like closing the loop or him acknowledging anything or going out with
any kind of, you know, positivity or is it just going to be like Jack shows up to the reunion,
again, makes a fool of himself looks like a piece of shit and then we just don't see him again.
Honestly, for his sake and for Britney's sake, I hope he can say some of the right things, but I'm not
super hopeful. But Zach, uh, Zach at the Zen party.
is really, he's not feeling the Zen energy, I think it's safe to say, because he is now
really, really fed up with Janet and specifically with Britney's positioning in between him and Janet.
Because, you know, after Sheena brings up the Jenna thing, which the Jenna thing, I still, like,
I can't really force myself to care about.
I'm sorry.
But Janet, like, storms off.
And, you know, Zach is like, well, actually Janet is the one that's perpetuating narrative.
to destroy people.
And Zach is like, Brittany, Brittany, you should never have her back again.
Janet is like Jacks.
Janet is like Jacks.
And Brittany, are you under her spell?
Are you under Janet's spell?
Just like you were under Jack's spell?
First of all, I'm like, I'm sorry.
Comparing Janet to Jacks, it's a little comical.
It's a, it's a reach.
Sir, Zach, please.
Janet is like messy and maybe not a good friend and maybe not trustworthy.
Jacks literally like threw a table across the room at Brittany.
Jacks has ruined a decade of this woman's life.
It's not comparable.
And I understand why he is frustrated that it feels like Brittany is sort of playing both sides.
But at the same time, it's like be fucking for real.
Get a grip.
Get a grip.
He goes, she's going to cut your skin off and she's going to wear it.
You know what that bitch has done.
Just like he really wants like a daytime Emmy for this right now.
And I respect the hustle.
But Zach is one of those people where when he's trying really hard, you can really, really tell that he's trying really hard.
And like I, again, I appreciate the effort.
I like that we're going for the theatrics here.
But it's like, okay.
Okay, we're at a 12 right now. I need you at a 9. Like a 9 would be great. A 9 would be ideal.
And then Janet, to kind of just like put the icing on the cake, Janet asks Kristen if she feels bad for calling her a whore and threatening to beat her ass and all this stuff.
And Kristen, you know, the pillar of growth and maturity that she has, she goes, if it hurt you, then yeah, sure, I'm sorry.
just the most heartfelt of apologies.
Because, yeah, whatever.
If it hurt you, sure.
I'm sorry.
That's where we leave this season of the Valley.
I'm like nervous for this reunion.
I'm excited for this reunion.
I can't wait to talk about it.
And we will dive into that next week.
Speaking of reunions, Atlanta,
they have been through two parts of their three-part reunion.
I feel like next week will be a good time for a little bit more of like an
Atlanta season post-mortem a little bit.
But this week's episode, they really dive into Shamiya and Portia's relationship and
issues.
And I gotta just say, it really makes me sad to watch.
It really makes, it bums me out because knowing how Shamiya and Portia have had this
relationship and this close friendship and bond for basically their entire lives to
watch it play out like this on a housewives reunion where it just feels like they are
fundamentally not really wanting to get to a good place with each other. It's not that they,
to me, and maybe I, maybe, maybe they would say that this isn't the case, but it doesn't
feel like either of them have a strong enough specific reason of something that the other has done
to warrant this level of frustration and anger and bitterness and toxicity between them.
Like, it just feels like it's a matter of ego and pride and miscommunications, but also sort of like
purposeful misunderstandings, you know, like when you're not on the same page with someone,
kind of on purpose because you want to make them feel bad or have an issue.
Like, all of the stuff going back to Portia not going to Shamiya's wedding because she,
you know, couldn't get on the plane for that long.
Like the fact that stuff like that is coming into play in this argument, just it feels
so unnecessarily deep.
You know, they're, they're yelling back and forth about Portia sending Shamiya flowers when
she got her peach and, you know, now they're, again, like, yelling about the wedding.
And it just feels like all of this stuff that's piling up.
It's like, if your number one goal was to fix things with your friend, all of the stuff
that they're arguing about would be water under the bridge.
But it doesn't, I don't believe that they right now want to be good with each other.
And it's sad.
You know, Andy kind of is like, what's the stat?
Where is your friendship out right now?
What's the status?
And they're basically just like, we don't, we don't have a friendship right now.
We don't, we don't have an active relationship.
We don't communicate like that.
And Portia, I mean, I love Porsche.
I mean, Portia's like iconic, great, whatever.
But it frustrates me that she, she's saying that she feels like she's taken accountability
at every step of their friendship.
And Shamiah hasn't done the same.
And she's adamant that she was, you know, never a part of any.
Alliance that would have been, you know, trying to make Shamiya look bad.
I feel like Portia is a little bit like she's acting like her side of the street is spotless
and Shemias is like full of garbage.
And I just wish they could meet in the middle a little bit.
And maybe part three of the reunion, though the way that they've kind of been, you know,
tip for tat a little bit on social media lately doesn't inspire confidence in me that the reunion
is going to fix anything.
Maybe next season.
I mean, I don't know.
It's hard for me to accept that they are just like never going to be good again, that they're
going to be just like rivals in this cast that seems so dumb.
It seems so dumb and so unnecessary.
But I hope they can do better.
On the other hand, that makes me sad.
Drew versus Shamiya.
Now, that's funny.
I can get into it.
The fact that they are arguing about whether or not Drew was carrying a real Judith Lieber
cocktail crystal purse or whether she had the fake one that was $100.
And so Shamiya bought the fake one to bring to the reunion to show that it looks the same.
It's just, that's what we want.
That's the kind of conflict I want to see on this show.
You know, we're bringing out Dennis.
We're bringing out Ralph.
Drew's going to have an interesting part three of the reunion.
for sure. No, but it's a pretty solid reunion so far. I'm enjoying everyone. Again, I just
wish that Portia and Shemia could figure things out, but we'll talk more about Atlanta next week.

This Julia and Gertie drama is just, it's giving me a headache at this point because I, again,
kind of like Portia and Shemia, obviously these women don't have the same basis of friendship,
but it's like, is any of this really that deep? You know, obviously the water throughout the cruise thing
it's a lot, but I just want us to be able to move forward and I don't think that's going to be able to happen.
So obviously this week we're coming back from, you know, the narcissism of it all in last week's episode.
And we see that Larsa has, Larsa has bought a house because her penthouse condo, it's really nice.
It's like a mansion in the sky, but it's just not a place for the family.
So, you know, I just bought like a cute little mansion on the ground.
And so Steph comes over and Larsa's downloading staff on her conversation with Lisa that didn't go well.
But Larsa does think it went well.
She's like, yeah.
So, I mean, like we talked and, you know, that's the end of it.
And I think we're good to coexist.
And Steph is like, this is not the end of it.
I can see this from a mile away.
And stuff, I just want to say, I think that Steph is doing a good.
good job of like getting her, getting her toes into the drama. She's like, you know, involving
herself in the group. I would love to see a side of stuff that is a little less buttoned up,
a little less boss bitch. I'm going to, you know, test the fingerprints on the counter and tell
you I have OCD and be at 55 different, you know, site visits by noon and also carry the
Birkin and come to the party and have the high bun. I don't know if Steph has a side that is
a little more fun-loving, a little more carefree, a little bit, you know, let your hair down,
have a couple cockies. I don't know if that side of her exists. If it does, if it does,
and I feel like it has to do it. Must. Just let it out. Let it all hang out, girl. I think that is
going to be kind of my test for her for the rest of the season, which I know they've already filmed.
Steph, if you're listening, I hope you did this while you were filming. If not, it's going to be a long season.
I would, I would like for the rest of the season from her to see a little bit more of just like having fun.
And this group, this group likes to have fun. Just, just let it all hang out.
But, no, we have an energy I don't love on the show this week. And it's not Grady sharing the text messages about Julia, which we'll get to.
It's Karamo Brown. I just, he doesn't. I'm so sorry. If you're, if you're,
if any of the girl he's listening,
if you love queer eye,
if Karamo,
if he really speaks to you,
I respect that journey wholeheartedly.
For me,
I don't know.
When Julia is like at the farm
with her new,
her two new babies,
who I just kind of assumed
the way she was speaking about it
that we weren't going to see the babies
on camera this season.
And suddenly it's just like,
this is Luca!
And this is.
the other one and now they're going to be touch Rihanna and Alexia at the farm with the goats.
I wasn't expecting that. I was like, oh, I thought this was like private. Sorry, my bad. I don't
know. She can do whatever she wants. And then she gets the first time from Karamo. And he's inviting
them to this LGBTQ gala thing. I'm just like, what are we doing here? What's going on?
So suddenly, everybody's at this LGBTQ gala.
we meet our new friend, a friend of a friend of a friend, truly on this show,
Carmen Carrera, iconic, early season drag race contestant turned beautiful model,
supermodel, goddess, whatever.
It's fun to have her around.
I'm curious to see how much she's going to be with the group this season.
I had seen photos of her with the group during filming, so I knew that she was going to pop up
somewhere.
It is truly such a Miami thing.
what other show would have a friend of a friend.
Because she comes on as Kiki's friend,
and it's like, yeah, sure, whatever.
Works for me.
But Julia is telling Adriana about Marisol's colonoscopy.
And Adriana is like in a tough spot because obviously Julia's like her home girl
has been for a long time.
But Julia's like sitting with the plastics a little bit now.
She's, you know, if Adriana is the Janus Ian of,
Real Houseways of Miami and Julia is the Katie Heron.
Then you have like Alexia Marisol, Larcelisa, a little bit.
Like that's the plastics.
And this week at the lunch table, Julia's sitting with the plastics and Adriana's a little
bit like, hey, like can you give me the intel?
Can you, you know, report back?
Like, are you being changed by them?
And it seems like maybe yes.
Because Adriana says this, I just, this made me laugh.
So I had to say it.
that Julia is so far up Marisol's ass that they're going to find polyps with Julia's face on them when they do the colonoscopy.
Oh, that is savage.
No, but I do feel for Adriana.
I'm like, she needs a friend.
She needs a friend.
Lisa, I also love, she's proudly telling everyone that she said narcissist.
She's like, let me set the scene.
We're at this thing.
And she goes, Lisa, you're a narcissist.
And I go, well.
wait for this one.
You're a larcissist.
And everybody's like, oh, yeah, that's pretty good.
Larcissist.
I like that.
Meanwhile, Alexia, I love the Alexia and Todd roller coaster.
It's really taking off because she's like, well, last night I ran into Todd.
And it's like, ran into how.
And Marisol's like, did you make out?
And she's like, well, yeah, of course.
I ran into Todd and then we hung out all night.
I just like, I want better for her.
And everybody does.
And, you know, later in the episode, you know, Steph is also bringing up, like, that she shouldn't be with Todd.
She's like, well, we just had the narcissism party for Todd.
And she's like, no, no, no, no.
That wasn't for Todd.
Watch your mouth.
That was for all of you bitches.
And it's like, okay.
Well, it was like a little bit of both.
I feel like it was at least a little bit of both.
But the event in question is Gertie's celebration of life.
Everybody's wearing white.
Julia comes to the event, you know, a little bit of an olive branch.
And she's making small talk with Russell.
And it's so awkward.
And in the moment, I was like, this is uncomfortable, but like, whatever.
She's, you know, trying to be normal about it.
But then it turns out that this little small talk with Russell is really the trigger that sets everything in motion.
Because Julia says to Russell, you know, like, I think we're, I think Gertie and I are okay.
now I think we can start to move forward.
And then flash forward,
Gertie is making her speech.
She's giving this whole, you know,
this whole song and dance about, you know,
the celebration of life and, you know,
everything is, you know, fleeting and value you or whatever.
And meanwhile, in the background behind her on this projector screen,
are screenshots of text messages with Julia that are supposedly pertaining to this
Cruz and supposedly proving that Julia lied or that Gertie was right or that Julia did something
bad or something.
And, you know, I really, I wish I could tell you, but these are not Gertie.
We have to have a talk about the contents and the deployment of these receipts.
Because, first of all, way too much text.
You know, when you're putting together like a PowerPoint, and it's like you don't want to have paragraphs of text on each slide.
You want to have some bullet points.
You want to have some simple things.
And then you can have in your notes, in your talking points, sort of the more fleshed out descriptions or break it up into multiple slides.
These are thick paragraphs of text messages.
And even when I did pause to read, it's like messages that don't have enough context or don't.
seem to be inflammatory in any way that it's like it's about like logistics of this cruise or
this dinner that you know gerty didn't have a plus one to or it's like it's not it's just not
doing what gerty thinks it's doing on top of the fact that the way she shares them in public at
this party that's supposed to be this positive you know i beat cancer let's celebrate it really
falls flat. And I think for her, unfortunately, because I like Gertie a lot, I think this is going to
make her life in the group a lot more difficult. Because we see this happening in OC right now with,
you know, the recording that Katie made of Shannon. We don't even know who she played it for.
If Alexis heard it, differing opinions, that is going to change the way that Shannon and probably
some other people in the group view Katie as a fellow cast member.
as a friend as a, you know, member of the group. And I think with Gertie, this, this line that she
kind of crosses with showing the text messages in this public way. It's not bringing it to a
reunion. It's not, you know, I don't know if posting it on Instagram would have been any
better, but it just feels like this public, like exposure of someone. But then it doesn't even
land. That's the thing. I think if you're going to do something like this, you need to,
you need to knock that shit out of the park. You need to have the smoking gun that, you know,
everybody could see that it's like, oh, fuck, Julia's a horrible person. Gertie was right all along.
I can't believe that I was even torn between the two of them. But instead, it's just kind of like,
huh? Wait, sorry. Can you go back? I didn't read all. What's?
Was the dinner with the cruise?
It's just too much.
And then we see the flashback that Gertie's decision in the moment to do this was based on the fact that Julia told Russell that they were going to be good and they could move forward.
And she's like, good where?
We're not good.
We're not good.
We can't move forward.
She thinks we can move forward.
Roll the texts.
I just.
It was so, it was so frustrating to watch in the moment.
because I feel like Gertie was in a good position, maybe not with the rest of the women in the group.
I think she has a tough time in the group.
But I think from people I've talked to and things I've seen on social media, people were mostly siding with Gertie.
In the whole drink throwing, you know, talking about that situation, people were like, no, Julia was fucked up.
And Gertie, you know, maybe not 100% right, but like more right than Julia.
And suddenly she just has gotten right down into the mud with Julia.
And I think the rest of the season, I don't know kind of how that's going to go.
And I'm not super hopeful because if I were Julia, I'm like, why would you then after these text messages put any effort into like making things good with Gertie?
It's going to be tough.
It's going to be tough.
But, you know, Todd's trying to win Alexia back.
So that's good.
At least we have something good going in Miami.
I don't know.
O.C.
A good episode, you know, Heather's birthday a month after the fact.
Glad that she's, glad that she's having fun.
This group is really divided, though.
There are some deep rifts.
And seeing how upset Shannon is with Katie,
I don't know that I was fully expecting that.
She's literally screaming at her.
At this party, she says, let me make this clear.
Katie Janella, full name, government name.
I will never ever speak to you again.
You are evil.
Evil.
Worse than Alexis.
Worse than Tamara.
It's like worse than Tamara.
I mean, I guess they've had their, yeah, it's tough.
No, but Katie is, that's going to be tough.
It is kind of funny when you're on a cast with somebody and it's like episode three of the season to say you'll never speak to them again.
It's like, I mean, realistically.
You've calling BravoCon in a few months.
You've got a reunion to tape.
You're going to speak to her again.
Shannon's probably going to yell at her again next week.
But that's not good.
Obviously, Tamara and Jen, and specifically Tamara and Ryan are really not good.
And Tamara doesn't even come to this birthday party because her lawyer has advised her not to be in the same place as Ryan.
And this is kind of, I don't love the way that this is handled because Tamara basically asks Heather,
to uninvite Ryan from the party when everybody's significant others are invited.
And so Heather, you know, she, she tries.
She kind of floats this to Jen.
And Jen is very offended.
She goes, that's, you know, you're picking her over me.
And, you know, that's so offensive.
And can you, I would never, I can't.
So then, you know, Heather kind of reports back to Tamara.
She's like, well, I try, but I don't know.
And then Tamara's like, well, that's fucked up.
And how are you choosing her over me?
And it's Heather being like, you know, torn apart by these two fitness blondes.
It's tough for her.
She's stuck in a hard place.
There's a lot going on.
Not a lot of Gretchen in this episode.
We got our big introduction.
Unfortunately, the only Gretchen moment we really get this episode is her talking about how she broke Slade's dick, which I just don't ever need to.
I just don't need that.
visual or that audio description.
Like, oh, I feel like I need to take a shower now.
Just thinking about it.
But I do love, the one thing I want to mention about Ossie before we wrap is Shannon
hanging out with all of these guys from Love Hotel.
She brings Adam to the bowling alley with Gina and Emily.
They seem like they have a fun little chemistry.
She brings Phil, Giselle's man who lives in Malibu or whatever.
He comes to Heather's birthday party.
He's just a friend, just a friend.
But I, Shannon is, she's hanging out with more different men from Love Hotel now than she did at the show.
She was stuck with Earl the whole time and I, I'm happy for her that she has kicked Earl to the curb or, you know, whatever, wherever he is.
And Shannon seems like she's having fun.
She's not having fun when she has to be dealing with Katie.
But it seems like she's in a much better place.
overall this year than she was last season.
I mean, that post-D-U-I,
post-John Jansen dealing with Alexis,
I'm like, look, if you had to deal with Alexis,
I frankly just don't believe that Katie is worse,
but glad to see Shannon doing well.
Glad to see everyone, you know, off to the races this season.
I'm having fun with OC.
I'm excited that we have so much of the season left
because there's just a lot of ground to cover.
There was a lot of ground to cover today,
and I feel like we did most of it.
