And I'm Barry Rosenfeld. Ooh. We were just talking before we started recording about a pool party. And now I feel like I'm just like in a party. mentality. You're on vacay. Like I lied to myself into feeling like it's party time.

And it, you know. It sort of is, you know, because we're recording our podcast. Yeah. You know what I did today for the first time? I put cinnamon in my ice coffee. And what was that? Cinnamon. Simmonin. Oh, God. Cinnamon.

Cinnamon. Did you say? Dylan. Cinnamon. I think you said it wrong. Shut up. I. No.

I did not say cinnamon. him synonym no but now i'm now i'm second guessing myself i'm sure okay so you put that uh that little brown powder i did in my coffee and it's honestly really good like it adds that something that like you that like you need and it's almost like a treat because i like don't do that every day but anyway today we're talking about new york and below tag med you know um you When you can't have an espresso martini, sometimes you just have to put a little something, something in your coffee. Absolutely. Absolutely.

We, hold on, hold on, alert. Before we get started, there are some things I meant to jot down so we can say. First of all, it's been spotted. Not that we didn't know this ahead of time, but there was actually like photos of Paige and Craig canoodling on the streets of NYSizzle. NYSizzle. Yuck. I'm not here for this. I just.

I'm here for like, I'm here for like a fun hookup between these casts, but like we, I don't need there to be a relationship happening. Actually, I need, I need there to not be a relationship happening. Why is that? Just because like, I feel like the crossover works when it's like fun and breezy and like, oh, the Southern Charm Boys are coming and we're just going to like get drunk and party. but like I don't want to watch the season of Summerhouse where Paige is like FaceTiming with Craig I get yeah I

and like yearning for Craig yeah and not like not that like I don't think Paige is going to be annoying about it like like a man like the idea of like being an adult who's like yearning for Craig Conover is embarrassing my bet my babe

makes the best pillows the best like he just sews and he goes and he throws those pillows. It's, you know, how like there are people who are like life coaches or whatever that are like, oh, like you have to have like multiple like streams of income. Yeah. He's like, I got the pillow business. I'm a lawyer.

I'm a reality TV star. Like multiple, multiple income sources. That's how you be a boss. Oh my God. Yes. And you know what? We have so much more of that to. come in the future because we have, we really do. Yeah, like it winter, winter house, summer house.

What is it, didn't they change the name of winter house? Isn't it something? Summer house, summer house, summer house winter charm. I do not like that at all. Nobody likes it. Nobody likes it. Nobody likes it. Oh my god. But wait, other southern charm news that's even more upsetting. Oh, Naomi and Matole broke up because he cheated on her literally right after she moved to New York. for him. And she was like vocal about her not knowing anyone in New York multiple times. She has said that for a while. She's like has she literally moved there for him, whatever. But like you live, obviously cheating is cheating. Like people find a way to do it. But like you live with your girlfriend and she clearly is not out like do it. When are you

finding the time to do that? It's, I mean, my, we don't have like the details. I feel like he's been in New York for a bit and then she just moved there. And like it could have. been in New York before she got there. And she said, she posted something cryptic about finding texts or messages, which, oh, no, I thought it seems like someone sent her a message. Like, that's what, that's the vibe

I got. You never know. But not good, not good. No, and we love Naomi. And honestly, I saw a really funny meme today. It was like, we have had so much off-camera drama this off-season of Southern Charm more than we have on the show.

There has been so many twists and turns, but also the rumors, guys, the rumors that fueled yesterday about our beloved Ramona. Beloved. You know, that's obviously a fucking joke. If this rumor is true that she is getting the axe, we have manifested this as a group. I will say, I am, obviously I am in agreement. Like, you know, if you listen to this podcast, you know, I would not have any issue with

Ramona being fired. I do feel like this source that's saying this to radar online, like, means nothing. Like, yeah. I have no more confidence that it's true than I did a week ago when we were just talking about it. So, like, I think I've seen people, like, on TikTok and, like, on, like, Instagram and stuff be like, Ramona Singer is now fired from Roney and, like, this is what happened. And it's like,

Like, nothing's happened yet. Like, they're not, they don't, like, film for the, they don't really, like, cast for the new season this early. Like, they might be in some preliminary casting discussions, but, like, they're not sending out contracts in the mail. Nobody's being told that they're not coming back. So I think it's, like, it needs to be taken with, like, a whole, like, container of salt.

Right. And we all know how this internet works. And it is a giant game of telephone. Like, the internet is. is a game of telephone. That worldwide web, the information just gets in there. It really, like, I could post something on my story and it could be like I could make something up literally. And all you need is one person to repost it and they're like, that's how someone probably was like, Ramon is fired and now it's on the news.

I mean, no, it is crazy. And like running, like running our Bravo account, Bravo, my betches, go follow if you don't. Like, it is crazy the way you see it happens sometimes where like I'll post like. something that's either like straight up a joke or like a theory or something like that and people will take it and run with it like on april fuls day when i posted that teddy was coming to orange county literally like that was getting like reported people were sharing that i i have everyone needs to take a deep breath of a journalist friend told me that people were like reaching out to him to see if there was like sources for that like it was pretty

And like, I thought it was obviously fake, but on the internet, like, there are just, there is no limit to like what like obscure information can all of a sudden be like spun into fact. And we don't need, I don't feel like we need to get more into like fake news. We could, we could honestly have like an episode dedicated to that and like. Well, do you remember like the amount of times we've had like random tabloid stories about such and such housewife in talks to come back. And it's like, they're not, like, they're not coming back. Or what about when you post a meme, like, with a hypothetical question and people in the

comments, like, answer, like, they're answering and they're like lecturing you. They're explaining to you. And it's like, babe, no, it's the joke. Like, the joke is the meme. Like, there's, like, you get it. You get it. Okay, let's talk about this week's Roney, though, because Ramona's not going anywhere yet. This episode, I actually felt like it was an improvement over the last few, just because once we got past this opening moment, we really were kind of able to move forward. And in the conversation, like, it wasn't a whole other episode of Ramona shutting Ebony down. And I was glad to be past that for a moment. I agree, but I honestly think they, I wonder if more actually happened and they just cut it because like we, they could, they're like, it's not getting through to her. We can't show this anymore. Like it's. They were like, they were like, okay, once we got to, I'm sorry, I'm white, we're just going to, we're going to move on. I did, I did think it was like interesting to see again at, so they finally get to the dinner table after, you know, like hours at this tattoo place. They finally get a, The table.

Was it the same place? Like, was the, okay. They were having like cocktails and then they were going to sit down for dinner. No, no, no,

the tattoo parlor, I mean. Yes, they were in the tattoo. Okay. I was like, what's going on? I don't know what kind of venue this is.

But so Ebony shares that her grandmother passed away that morning. And I mean, very sad, you know, it's kind of crazy now thinking to last episode that we didn't know that. But Ramona immediately. flips a switch into her like, oh my God, I'm so sorry. Like, let me hug you. Let me hold you. Let me be with you. Like, I need to talk to you about this. Like, why didn't you tell us? How didn't we know? And like the way Ramona, like, I think Ebony probably appreciates that response from Ramona. But the way that Ramona just like thinks everything else is just like gone because all of a sudden she's like, I'm going to comfort her. It's like, I wouldn't want Ramona to comfort me.

Well, Ebony did say that she does look at Ramona in situations like that as like a big sister. And she is there and she does know how to comfort people. But I almost feel like she knows that of comfort people when it's convenient for her. You know what I mean? Like she knows what it's like to lose someone so she can be there for Ebony. But when people are trying to tell her something, she has no interest because like it doesn't infect her. So like whatever. And if you think just back to last episode, it's like she comforts, you know, she has all these nice words for Ebony when it's, you know, my grandma.

died, but when she's talking about, like, racism she's faced and, like, hardships she's experienced in her life and her experience more in general, Ramona's like, but you have Louis Viton luggage. And so it's like, she can't really, she can't really like take a step back and look at the bigger picture, but like in certain moments, she is really good at expressing her compassion. And I think that's one of those, that's what, that's a reason I think that Ramona has been able to stay on the show for this long is because she's when she needs to, she's good at being that, you know, warm, likable person.

Yeah, when it's convenient for her. But Ebony and Leah both get tattoos, like, honoring their grandmother, it's just beautiful. But then you hear all the women talking about these tattoos. And, like, I can never tell him what scenes when Sonia is, like, drunk and, like, just talking about things like that. She was like, Our daughters would never.

And I was like, are your daughters even like, I thought about this today. The one thing I want right now in this very moment is for Avery to get a tattoo. Like, that's what I want. Avery and Quincy should go get matching. Or Avery. I kind of just want Avery to go out and get a tattoo. Like, I think that would be fabulous. But you know what?

Well, what almost was worse was their little trip to Pioneer Village because it was, it was a miss for me. Like, it was a huge miss for me. Like, I feel bad. as Leah, it was like an educational aspect of the show and they were in of the trip. I mean, and they were in Salem. So like, why not do like a tourist thing? But it was, it was, I don't know because the women, half of them, when they're not interested in something, you know. The fact that Luan and Romano just went to the bathroom left, like just say,

I don't want to do this, but like I'll hear about it. You can talk about it. Like, they have no interest in anything that. And it's very, it's very, frustrating sometimes. I was like, yeah, I don't know, because it's the kind of thing where I feel like that should be like a fun excursion. And I don't know if it was because of COVID or because it was cold outside, but I felt like if there, there should have been more activities. Like, what if they had like turned butter or, you know, like, if they had kind of done something a little more interactive, but it just felt like they were like, okay, put on the bonnet and the cape and then, wander around these buildings.

To be honest, I wouldn't have put on me outfits either. Like, I wouldn't have done that because it's a germ thing for me also. And also, like, it is kind of, you go and like, I'm dressed and ready. I don't, I don't like participating in things like that. But I would definitely listen and be on the tour and want to see what they're doing. But then when they're, they remind me of Handmaid's Tale a little tiny bit. Do you watch Hamad's Tale? Like, it just, when Ramona and Lou were like,

holding hands walking through and they're like waving to people like the woman was sweeping and I felt like they were in like a little a little community which they were but it felt like the pioneer village it felt like we're in a village they were in the wigwam I thought I did think it was hilarious when when Leo was like oh my god imagine if I was in the 1600s and breshawn and ebony are like imagine if we were in the 1600s yikes and then did you hear what remote and romona goes thank god like thank God, like, we, we are, like, have it so good. That's what she, and I was like, what is wrong with you? You're on camera, Ramona.

I know. So Ebony and, or Bershahn and Sonia are kind of like walking together. And Sonia's, you know, I guess telling Breshawn a little about her life. Of Billy Madison, you know, Billy Madison. This, like, was the field trip that the fifth graders, like, went on. You're going to hate me. I haven't seen Billy Madison. I mean, I knew you're going to.

I mean, I knew you were going to say that, but like, you have to just, this was straight out of Billy Madison. Like, I'm telling you. Like, I've been to Colonial Williamsburg. I've been to James Town. Like, I've been to Salem. I didn't do this. Oh, yeah. Like, I've done stuff like this.

And it's fun. I went on a witch hunt. I went on a witch hunt. That's more of my bad. Ooh. Yeah. Anyway, anyway, proceed. So Sonia is like talking about the townhouse and how, you know, when she takes the water pill,

she can't hold her alcohol. And she's kind of giving birth. Breshawn the whole like Sonia's a mess spiel. And I, I, not to get ahead of ourselves, I kind of wish she wouldn't have just because Bershahn clearly kind of uses it against her later in the episode. Yes, but she didn't know that. And also you could tell that she was kind of just leaning on someone. I don't even know where this came from because she has been good about this up the past few

like episodes, but maybe. And then all the other women are. like she's talking about this again, she's talking about this again, like just whispering and whatever. But yeah, Sonia and Bershan don't really hit it off, do they? They really don't. I mean, they go to dinner in this Italian restaurant, which seemed to be nice. Like, it just went from zero to 100 very fast. And I don't know what the missing piece was of this situation.

I feel that I have an idea what the missing piece could be. And I think the missing piece that we don't see on camera is I feel like Bershahn likes to listen to what the producers have to tell her. Okay. And I feel in this scene that it felt like perhaps her bringing up basically immediately at the table that the women are boring, that felt like a little bit of a producer suggestion. I think Bershahn, it feels strategic a little bit

how they brought Bershahn in a couple episodes ago right before they were about to go on this second trip that they clearly, you know, maybe wanted to spice up the group. Heather's not there anymore. It seems like Bershant is the type of person who is willing to kind of get in there and just cause trouble. And I think she seems like I could see her being really fun, but in this episode it just came off as like way too much and way out of line.

Because it's one thing to say like, hey, like let's have fun. Like, don't be boring. Like, let's all have fun. But instead of stopping there, she keeps going really for the rest of the episode. And specifically is like laying into Sonia and, you know, saying that she's a clown and, you know, kind of making fun of her and, you know, the way she speaks and the way she moves. And it's like, it just felt like mean-spirited. Yeah.

And you know what's interesting. Luan and so these women do have fun. And Sonia especially. But when you, when you piss off Luan, I have noticed that there is like really, it's hard to come back from that. She's a very like, ah, you just pissed me off. But the fact that her and Sonia both were like, what the fuck? Like the whole table, even Leo was like, Pershing, you got your like crossing the line now. You got to like chill out.

this is too much. And everyone, I've always said this, it's not good when the whole table is not defending. You are not sticking up saying anything on your behalf. You were alone in this situation. Except for Ramona, who's supposed to be Sonia's number one girl. And she's like, she's like, well, you know. And meanwhile, I loved seeing Luan really stick up for Sonia throughout the episode.

When she's like, you can't speak to her that way. Like, you don't get to say that. Leah was like, you know, that's really unfair. like you don't like why are you calling her a clown like you don't know her like that to say something like that and it just felt very you know obviously we don't know bouchon very well but it felt strange that she just was like wouldn't let it go and wouldn't kind of back down and it's like you are the one single-handedly causing all of this chaos she said she was trying to light in the mood but then which seemed strange but then she started to start

going off. This was weird. This part was weir to me when she was like started telling Leah that the like some people, it was her wording that some people like have been talking about her. And Leah was like, well, spit it out like who's been talking about me and she like wouldn't say it. And everyone was like,

what are you talking about? And then she started pissing Leah off because Leah was like, what are you talking about? And all she said was that Ramona, which by the way like was prior to this trip was like we're not really like on the same. Oh, you know, we're like getting there. And and even Ramona at that point was like what like that we and Lee are in a good place right now like what is happening so that Dylan also seems like production because that came out of nowhere and it had

nothing to do with her and it was not relevant to the trip that they were on right it came out of nowhere and also it's so it wasn't like there was some issue going on and then it felt like okay like you should know what Ramona was saying it was so out of left field like this isn't even what we're talking about. Ramona and Leah aren't having an issue right now. So it's like the only way to interpret that is like pure messiness. Like there's no kind of rationale for like, I thought you should know, or like I know that you would, you know, you seem kind of upset with Ramona. I feel like I should let you know how she really feels. It was just so like, you know what? I'm going to stir the pot right now. And I feel like I, I get what,

Breshawn is doing. I guess I appreciate the effort, but I feel like she needs to be a little smarter about how she's going about it if she doesn't want to be like cast out of this group two weeks from now. Yeah. And it's funny because we obviously interviewed her in this whole episode she was on. I really liked her. Like her energy. I really do. But this one really threw me for a loop because it's like, whoa, no one likes an intentional shit star like that. But well, and we see in the preview that she's, going to get in an altercation with Sonia. And like,

we don't know who initiates that. Sonia might. Sonia's drunk at this point. Right. But it's, it's just interesting because so this was only Brashon's third, third episode on the show. And she's just coming on a little too strong.

I feel like the first couple episodes, it was like, oh, fun, life of the party. Okay, cool. We can get into her. And then this episode, it's like, I think she should. you know, if production is kind of massaging her to do this stuff, I get that. But it's like you need to tread a little more carefully because right now you still don't

have relationships with any of these women except, like, theoretically Ramona. And so like if we get to the point after this trip and everybody, you know, thinks you're just like messy and toxic, it's not going to make sense for you to keep getting invited to stuff. Right. And they all now one by once literally storm out. of the restaurant. They take their jackets and they go and they go back to and now they're, it's now it's in the alleyway. I guess they're in, it's Sonia, Ramona and Bershan and they're explaining like, you did this, you did this. Like, and they're in each other's faces because they have masks on so they can't hear each other. And I was like laughing. I was like,

guys, you're already fighting. You can't be in each other's faces. But they went back to the hotel and Bershan like walks in and she's like, sorry I had too much to drink. And Leo was like, no, you didn't. I know what it's like to have. Like you are walking fine. You're just Talking fine, like not... Alcohol is not to blame for this situation. Like, no, no. Yeah, also that was... It got worse.

When she first started Chip with the boring comment, that was like five minutes after they sat down at the restaurant. It wasn't like at the end of the night she made a comment. Yeah, but this... Obviously, I think alcohol was involved in this situation just because, like, you probably wouldn't say the things you say if it wasn't. But, like, she continued to call Sonia a clown and, like, and a hoe, by the way. And if I were Sonia, I would get mad.

She had every right to, like, get mad and defend herself. But the argument for me wasn't really landing. Like, it was, it kind of was just ridiculous. And at that point, it was, like, time for bed. Yeah. I, it was interesting because when Ramona and Sonia got back to the hotel, I didn't, I thought at first that they were just going back to their rooms. Like, it didn't, the geography of the hotel is confusing.

So I didn't realize they were, like, going to this room where the rest of them were hanging out. And I was like, no, like, don't go back into the group. Like, just let Sonia go to bed. Like, she doesn't need to be, like, around Bershon anymore. Because Bershont is already, you know, like, Luann is mad. Like, I mean, everybody's just mad. And I feel like it's the kind of thing where. If the night had ended after the restaurant, it would have been like, well, that was weird.

We should talk about that tomorrow. But now it's just like a mess. Yeah. And speaking of a mess, something we forgot to mention was the fact that before dinner on the way to dinner, when Sonia notices some human feces on the bathroom. Allegedly. Yeah, alleged or spilt makeup, whatever you want to call it. But, like, I have never seen Sonia genuinely laugh that hard in my entire life.

I was laughing at her laughing. And, like, but the fact that Ramona, I get it. Okay, an accident, whatever. This has happened before. And it's like, you got to, like, really do something about this. I just think, like, okay, an accident. Sure. Wouldn't you be extremely careful when you know your.

surroundings are going to be filmed or could be filmed. Yes. When I go, it's like if I were Ramona, it's like when I go in to use the restroom, before I come out and the cameras are going to be there, I'm going to look around my surroundings and make sure there's no poop on the floor. Correct. And going off of that, if we want to go into detail here, when I am pooping, I don't stand up like when before I'm finished.

So it's like it all goes in the, It all goes in. The toilet doesn't land on the floor. I don't know. I don't know. That's why I just want to maybe do think it's liquid makeup. I don't think it is. I would love to think that it's makeup and she's telling the truth.

But like, I just don't trust her. I don't trust her digestive system. Oh, my God. Yeah. So honestly, yeah, like next week looks like real insane. I mean, Sonia really gets, they're in each other's faces, but so, and then security and or production gets involved and that we have never seen that on New York before to this extent. So honestly, at this point, I just appreciate that something new is happening. Like, whether or not I love this drama with Breshawn, like, it's something different that we haven't been seeing for the last nine episodes.

And which is why I think you're right with production, because of, exactly what you just said. It feels intentional and you know, that's fine. It's reality TV. It happens. Sometimes it needs to happen. Okay, let's talk about Below DeckMed. This episode, I think we both agreed that

the most interesting thing that we needed to talk about was this disagreement between chef Matthew and stewardess Lexi. Lexi. Which was just I don't love Lexi's vibe.

She seems... Which, to be, to be honest, I don't love Chef Matthew's vibe either. Like, I think they both are kind of assholes. I don't know. So two people whose vibes we don't like, together in one galley, we really don't like. So last episode we saw Matt kind of like flirting a little bit with Lexi, maybe, and she's flirting back and she tells us that she's, you know, basically pretending. because it's good to have the chef like you,

which I understand. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. But then this episode, we see her maybe getting a little too, a little too casual in her interactions with him, comfortable in the galley while he's doing this wedding dinner service, which is, I mean, he clearly is just a stressed out person. So to begin with, it's like,

maybe you should give him a little space, or maybe you should steer clear of him a little bit while he's like in the middle of doing the part of his job that stresses him out the most. Well, which is his job. Which is his job. The whole thing. But so she's like hanging out and then there's this like dirt pile that he has swept. And he specifically asks her not to stand there.

And then she immediately steps in the dirt pile. She's like eating these lamb chops while he's plating them. Like there's two extra ones. And she's just like standing there. them. He's asking her not to step in the pile again. She's like, who cares? Don't worry about it. Like, now it's not the time. And then he tells her to get out. She, oh, she tells him to just focus. She said focus on on plating right now. Like, just focus. And she seems on getting the lamb on the plate. Very, this whole scene, to me, she seemed very entitled and, and not nice.

Well, I just think it's like, I mean, I've never, I don't know all the details of like how these boats work, but from watching a lot of below deck, the galley is the chef's area. Like, they're in charge of that room, basically. And so like, to me, for her to come in and, you know, like, if she wants to like hang out or whatever, that's fine, I guess there's nothing wrong with that. but like if he's like any instruction that he gives you that like you you know like if he says please don't stand there don't stand there like because the chef told you not to he said it nicely and he also said it multiple times so at that point i think it was just in her head that she was doing it to piss him off because it was minimal to what she was asking but it doesn't matter that's what he did that he was asking and also rule number one what she was doing she was eating the food while

while it was being plated. So that was not leftover what she was eating. That was not. I was surprised he didn't get more mad about that. Because to me that was, I mean, the, you know,

the tone of voice and all of that was like not ideal. But to me, that's like the biggest no-no in terms of. Yes, I agree. But when she, so when she went to give the guests, the second round of lollipops is what they're called.

But she came down. and and he said there's none left. So in her defense, there was only two. So it's not like you could bring two up to the guests anyway. But still, like, it just is not a good look. And I feel like he did handle that well. And then at the end, in another scene, when he came, he saw her and he came, I thought what he was saying was he wasn't apologizing.

He was kind of explaining his action. He was like, listen. Yeah. I was just telling you, he was. calmly talking to her, but that conversation, like, kind of didn't end well. They kind of just, like, walked away from each other in the middle of a conversation, and it wasn't an apology on either end. Well, because, I mean, I thought the way that she spoke to him, I thought, okay,

I thought the way that she spoke to him about, you know, focus on putting the lay on the lay on the plate. I thought that that was out of line. But I also thought that him being, like, get out was not great either. It looked like a little boy, like, in his, like, fort. And he was like, get out with his finger. But at the same time, I feel like she just isn't really, she's like not really, I don't think she's right about kind of what their relationship is supposed to be like. I think she's kind of ignoring the fact that in that situation, he is her superior.

And so like when he gives her an instruction, like it should be followed. Especially during, he's her superior in general, but during a meal time even more. because... Right. During dinner service in the galley, when he asks her to do something, like, reasonable. I mean, asking her not to step in the pile is reasonable. Like, he wasn't asking her, like, you know,

go out and do something crazy and whatever that there's no, like, rationale for. I don't know. Yeah, but, but we see this wedding. It was beautiful. It was nice. It was... It happened.

Captain Sandy, did she, or... Was it a real wedding? Like, was it there? actual real wedding or was it like a vow renewal or something like no it was the real wedding because usually the um the captain of a ship is like um eliz like qualified to what's the word um ordained no no to um officiate a wedding oh get out of here yeah i did not know that that is like that is something you learn that is a fun it's like a minister or a justice of the peace you or like the captain of a ship or like the people that can officiate a wedding.

Wait, that's so funny and random. Also, why those three? I don't know. But like I can because I'm a minister. Okay. Well, I can't because I'm a podcast host. They should add that to the list. Imagine.

No weddings for Barry. Fuck. But we, yeah, we finally are done with charter number one. And here we here we are. We're still standing. My goodness, I feel like we have been on this show already. I know. I think it's because we went right into it from last season.
