Sheena
Sheena welcome
Hi thanks for having me
Hi Sheena
Hello how are you guys
Doing well
You are in a very
lush location it looks like.
How is life in California for you right now?
Oh, it's pretty rough.
It's like 85 and sunny.
I'm in Del Mar to Country Club.
That sounds awful.
Yeah, I wouldn't work for anyone on a Tuesday.
Is that what that is?
The Tuesday, I don't even know.
I don't know.
What is time?
So you moved this summer to San Diego.
Yeah.
Actually, today we've been down here.
How is it going?
How do you like it?
What's the adjustment like?
I absolutely love it.
It's just very like Marina Delray was my happy place,
just kind of away from the city, away from people.
And on the water, it was like my own little oasis.
And this is like that on steroids.
Like we get to wake up and just be on the bay,
walk out to the sand every day and night.
It's very peaceful.
I just I love it
It's my new happy place
I'll be excited to get back to work
But really sad to go back to LA at the same time
That's yeah I can see both sides of that happening
And you've been spending time in Palm Springs this summer
Also here and there right?
Yeah so we were there from St. Patrick's Day
Up until just like last week
So this month because my cats had still been in Palm Springs
spring so I was still back and forth every week and then finally this week is like our first
like official don't have to leave san die anywhere week so it's good finally all my bosses are unpacked
um when you announced you were moving people freaked out and that you were leaving l.a and that you
tweeted everything was fine but did you people did you realize that people were going to be so invested in
this, I guess, minor detail in your life, even though it's not too minor.
I mean, I already moved to Vegas for half a year, and that didn't affect any work in L.A.
So I'm like, I've already did this, but like even further in another state.
Like, so, you know, I mean, I love that people are invested, obviously.
If we don't have that, I don't have a job.
So I loved how invested they were.
But I'm like, I'm not quitting anything.
I'm not going anywhere other than to San Diego for,
now because why not? The desert was getting way too hot. My boyfriend's back working full,
full time as Jim's doing great. So it just made more sense to be out here with him back down
by the beach and beach weather than to be in the desert by myself. That's the thing. I feel like
people think moving or any of these situations are permanent and nothing in life is permanent.
I just want everyone to know that. Yeah, we signed a year lease, but I'm like, that doesn't mean
I'm trapped in San Diego for a year and I'm not allowed to go anywhere else.
Like, I mean, up until a month ago, I had three houses.
We had my apartment, his apartment, and Palm Springs.
So I'm like, I'm pretty used to for, we've been together almost a year next month.
I'm used to being in three cities at all time.
So there's nothing different about me being down here more.
Like, it's no secret.
L.A. is still not open.
I'm not working right now.
So.
I was after being close to my boyfriend who is working, you know, and be able to help him out with whatever I can.
And, yeah, we'll go back to L.A. when the time is right, but not right now.
Everyone, Sheena has different area codes, is a woman of multiple homes.
So her living situation is whatever, whatever you need it to be, it can be.
I always like, wait, what's my billing zip code on this card?
where's my PayPal and my business manager now. It's just easier because that will never change.
Yeah. So you are not used to having a lot of free time in the summer the last few years. So how has it been this year? Like you said, you're not working in L.A. Obviously, you know, TV stuff is not super up and running right now. What's it been like just having a summer to live your life?
well that's the thing it's not like we were really able to travel and enjoy the summer so it was just
time off and really really hot weather um in palm spring so i was glad once we did make the move
down to san diego and he was working again so i could at least be at the beach in this time off
but i mean it's been nice i've started reading some books which i haven't done in a long time
and just working on at youtube and my podcast it's
It's been fun and a good, just break away from everything, but still being able to be active, like, social media, work-wise, as much as I can.
Yeah.
Guys, Sheena's hair is blowing in the wind right now, like, gorge.
This is just today.
It's my friend's birthday.
Do you guys know Parker Young?
He was on Impostors on Bravo.
Okay.
birthday today.
So they're down at the pool.
And Brock's like, well, if you're going to the pool, I'm going golfing.
And I'm like, wait, but I also have podcasts to do today.
So I'm just taking a little break at the members lounge and then I'm going to have a fun Tuesday.
But totally, I'm just sitting on my couch with pajamas on watching Netflix with my cats.
I don't do much.
That sounds ideal.
I think to be out of the house and did not look completely like trash.
Do you think this summer has also major relationships stronger?
And how does Brock feel about potentially being on camera in the future?
Definitely.
I mean, in just, you know, the less than year we've been together,
we've already been through so much.
So it's definitely been a relationship tester.
And we've gotten through all of it and come out even closer.
I think we're the best we've ever been.
And we're like, we got through COVID.
like we got this and then you know out of miscarriage on top of that living together moving cities it's
it's been a lot but i think with doing youtube as far as on camera goes that's helped him get
you know used to a camera being in his face i think when it's a full crew it's going to be a little
different and he's not one to like if we already had a conversation last night but then i need to
like tell him it on camera like he's just like just don't talk to me until like you're not
there's something like we need to start like only talking when there's a camera in our face so I can get
used to it because he's not good with if he has to you know like redo a conversation or if I have
to tell him another story. He's like, but they don't know that. It's acting. He needs to act.
I'm talking about things with him on the podcast that we've already discussed it. I'm like,
honey, the listeners don't know. So we need to talk about it again and tell the story again.
So he's getting the hang of it, but I think he'll be good.
I mean, he's very naturally charismatic and we have such great chemistry together.
I'm excited to hopefully one day, you know, show it on a TV screen, but for now we have
YouTube and it's the most accurate portrayal you will see of my life.
And I love that for it.
Can I just say, I think people love you and Brock together and you seem so happy.
At BravoCon, I remember when.
it was y'all's panel and when people realized that Brock was in the audience, everybody like
turned in the same direction and was like, oh my God, Gina's man is here. Yeah. Well, and he's such a
presence in himself, you know, it's like you look at him, you're like, Aquaman. So, I mean,
definitely, even I could be in a hat, glasses, and a mask, and someone will still like recognize
us because of him. And I'm like, you're a dead giveaway. You're such a big person. And
a big personality that, yeah, but I love it. I think he's so good for me and vice versa,
and we're really happy. I wish I had a boyfriend that I can tell people like we got through
quarantine together. Yeah. This episode is brought to you by Prime. Obsession is in session.
And this summer, Prime Originals have everything you want. Steamy romances, irresistency.
and the book to screen favorites you've already read twice.
Off campus, L, every year after, the love hypothesis,
Sterling Point and more.
Slow burns, second chances, chemistry you can feel through the screen.
Your next obsession is waiting.
Watch only on Prime.
I have been wondering though, have you been working on any new music
during this?
I know a lot of people are feeling like creative during this,
during quarantine?
Oh, you haven't?
No, I mean, I'm not, like, that's just always been like a side hobby, like something that's been for fun.
It's never anything that I've taken super serious.
So I'm not really one to like sit down and write songs.
And I don't have a studio to go and record in right now.
So that hasn't even been something that's really crossed my mind.
My friend Erica Costel just started her own label.
It's an all female owned and ran label called BIA Entertainment, BIA, BIA, B.I.A. B.
Which is in Action.
And she wants to start, yeah, she wants me to start working with her too.
But it's just been, you know, with social distancing and all of that, it's been hard
to get into a studio.
And it just hasn't been top of my priority list.
I want to focus more on my YouTube and my podcast and building that.
But I think once I get back in L.A.
I have one song that we actually did like a year ago, and it's pretty much done.
It just needs to be mastered.
I do want to release that, but I'm just waiting for the right time.
And then hopefully I can do something fun with Erica, but that's always just going to be a hobby.
It's never going to be something I'm taking super serious.
No, but that's exciting.
It's fun.
It's fun that you can have multiple kind of projects in the works, like side things to focus on.
because, you know, when you're known for, you know, being on a show or doing one thing, like you've said with your YouTube, you don't always get to see exactly, you know, the real portrayal of you. So it's fun that you have your YouTube, you have your podcast, you have your music, you can do so many different things and kind of show off all the different sides of yourself. Definitely. And there wasn't the greatest response on my last music video. So I'm going to rethink the concept for the next one and definitely the guy.
but I do have to come back from that one.
So there will, I can promise there will be another music video.
I don't know when, but Brock will be in it.
And we're going to make up for the one more time one.
See, Sheena, there's a song waiting to be released.
I'm so excited.
I'm glad I asked that.
There will be more coming.
The one that I have out right now is a dance track or that I have like ready to go.
But I do want to.
And that's the thing it's like because I'm not really like a writer like in a musical sense.
I actually have never really tried that because I did get my degree in journalism.
So I am a writer at heart.
But I want to write something that's more today, Sheena, because the one that I have that's already done was very single Sheena.
And it's just like, you know, in the club, getting junk.
And I'm like, it's not really me anymore.
But it's still a fun song.
And we spend a lot of time making it.
So I still want to release it.
but I don't think that'll be my next music video.
That'll just be a fun.
I should have done that this summer,
given people something to dance to,
but it'll come out eventually.
What have you been,
you said you've been watching a lot of Netflix.
What have your favorite quarantine shows been?
And do you keep up with anything on Bravo right now?
Below deck and Beverly Hills.
I'm fully caught up.
I'm obsessed with both.
I'm really sad that my girl, Hannah, is no longer on below deck because she was the only reason I watched it.
But now I'm already so sucked into the season that I'm going to finish it out.
Housewives, I mean, obviously.
And I love Denise Richards.
And then on Netflix, we did all of, what's it called?
Ozark, finished that.
And then Brock and I will get into like some really cheesy binges.
where like right now we're watching Cobra Kai,
which is like the new karate kid, like 30 years later.
But we're like invested.
We already finished the first season.
So in like a day.
So now watching the second season.
And then he started the umbrella academy recently.
And I like started watching that.
But then I'm like watching episodes here and there.
And I'm like, I need to sit down and just binge everything.
Because then I'm like asking him questions.
And he only half pays attention when he's watching.
But those have been the latest binges.
So is it safe to say...
Oh, and selling sunset, obsessed.
Well, yes.
That is like a gift.
Is it safe to say that you're team Denise, not team Brandy?
You know, I mean, Brandy and I are cool.
Like, we're on good terms.
We talk here and there.
So I don't want to pick a team in this because I believe parts from both sides.
I just...
Yeah.
Yeah.
I want to stay out of that one because I'm like, you know, did something happen, but it shouldn't
have been said, but I don't know.
It's so complicated.
It really is.
It really, really is.
People like text me as if I have inside information.
I was like, no, no, like we are all watching the same thing unfold.
I don't know personally what happened with Brandy and Denise.
I really wish I did, but I don't.
I know.
Same.
Yeah, I think regardless whether something did or did not happen, it happened behind closed doors and that's where it should have stayed.
Yeah, it's, I mean, I'm sure you have kind of a nuanced opinion of that compared to everyone else just watching because you've, I mean, you've been in situations like that, just like, you know, your life is public and obviously sometimes that is difficult.
Yeah.
But yeah, it's so interesting to watch.
Yep.
Very, very interesting.
Yes, will we see it unfold?
I don't know.
But we have a fun game.
We named it good as gold or tired and old.
Oh, I love it.
We're going to give some things.
Just some things.
And for each one, just tell us, if you're still into it, good as gold, or if it's tired and old, we don't like it anymore.
Got it.
Okay.
Are these people, too?
No.
No, we're not being too messy.
Too messy.
We thought about it, but we're like, no, let's just, it's fine.
Okay, so Zoom happy hours.
Good as gold.
Yeah.
Okay.
Goat cheese balls.
Tired and old.
I haven't had those in a long time.
Not your favorite.
No, they are, but I am a strong believer in psychics,
and my psychic told me I needed to cut goat cheese specifically out of my diet.
So they're just tired and old because I'm not supposed to eat them anymore.
I go for team dumplings at sir.
That is very interesting though.
I know.
And it was so weird because that day my mom and I were talking about why sir isn't open for like to go food.
And I'm like, I mean, the goat cheese balls are good, but are they that good?
Like they need to be open for to go food.
And then later that day, my psychic said something about goat cheese.
And I was like, what the how?
How did you know I was just talking?
about goat cheese. I haven't talked about goat cheese in months. And she told me to cut it out of my
diet. So literally last night, the recipe called for it. And I was like, I'm going to put it on the
side if you guys want it, but I'm not eating that shit anymore. So, wow. Um, wait, also,
what did you make that called for goat cheese? It was, um, a salmon dish that had an orzo pasta
side and it said to crumble goat cheese on top. So it was more of a garnish. And normally I would
have crumbled all of that goat cheese and I love goat cheese. But, but,
I was like my psychic told me not to eat it anymore and I she hasn't been wrong about anything
she's told me so far so I'm going to just keep the goat cheese on the side.
All right. Great. Okay, selling sunset. Oh, good is gold. I mean, some of the cast is
tired and old, but we don't need to name names. We know who though. I think we could make a guess
based on
based on one of your podcast episodes, but
I got enough shit for that.
My star rating went down after that too, so.
Oh my God.
People take it too seriously.
I'm like, we're just being honest.
We have actual insider information
because we've known this person
for a very long time.
You don't want to listen
and you want to believe an edited docu soap
as that show is called,
aka scripted, then be my guest.
I think it's funny.
Everyone on that show has so much history.
Like, you know, people go back years and years.
And you're the same way.
Like, sometimes when you tell stories, I, when you inevitably write your memoir or whatever,
I'm most excited for like the Sheena years before we knew you on TV.
Oh, for sure.
Those are the good ones.
You have some stories.
I do.
And I get in trouble for telling them on podcasts, though.
the John Mayor thing.
I got, yeah.
Well, okay.
One, wait, one little detail as long as we're talking about it,
which we won't talk about it.
But my favorite part about that,
it's full circle for me as a fan is with Stacy
because I saw you on the hills,
but nobody, like, knew.
Yeah.
Because it was before, you know,
so I was like, oh, my God, this for me is like, you know, gold.
Yeah.
Life is crazy.
Good as gold or tired and old crop top wedding dresses.
Always good as gold.
I'm wearing a bikini top as a crop top today.
I loved that wedding dress.
I never understood the hate for it.
Thank you.
It was so unique.
I was a trendsetter.
No one else had done it yet.
I made sure I did my research.
And then Ashley Simpson did a crop top like a month or two after me,
but I was like, I did it first.
Um, outdoor dining.
Um, good as gold. I, I, no matter what COVID or not, I love dining outdoors, especially if the weather's
nice. I really like eating outdoors, especially if they like the market lighting.
Right now in San Diego, the streets are shut down and the restaurants are open on the street.
And even if it wasn't because of a pandemic, it's just so cute to have like the street
shut down and be able to like eat somewhere you're not supposed to.
It's like, I just think it's a experience.
Right, like the opposite for us, like sitting on First Avenue with like
taxis driving by.
You're like, I'm not supposed to be here.
What are your thoughts on watching Friends, the TV show?
Honestly, I'm just gonna stay tired and old because I was never like a big friends person
and everyone on my cast would get so mad at me for saying this.
But I think when it was out, I mean, I was really young.
And I never got super into it.
So, yeah, it's too much to catch up on now.
There's so many inside jokes and I'm just, I'm not a part of the joke and it's fine.
I agree.
It's not funny enough to make me want to watch it for the first time.
Yeah, no.
Like, there's just so many shows that were on for so long in so many years.
I'm like, I just, I missed my time and that's okay.
Or what about having a best friend?
I'm good as gold.
I have like 50.
Yeah.
I'm with you on that.
Like I have best friends for different like categories, I guess.
Same.
It's like I have, you know, like my best friends on the show.
I have my best friends from high school.
I have like my like general like my friend Jamie.
Like she's one of my best friends.
But it's like I just, I do have a lot of super close friends.
and I guess I use that term loosely,
but I don't say it about everyone.
I'm like, yeah, Ariana's one of my best friends.
Like, Jamie's one of my best friends.
And then I have my high school best friends.
I'm like, I don't think the word best means only one.
It's just who's the best out of your overall group.
And I have several bests in that sense.
That means when you describe someone as just a friend,
they are definitely like not high up on the list.
Yeah, right?
I'm like, no, like, we're like,
We're like, we're good friends.
Like, you know, I just...
She's cool.
Yeah, she's cool.
You know?
Okay.
I don't want to give an example of that because I don't want them to get their feelings
hurt, but like, there's a lot of people on the show where I'm like, yeah, they're my
friend, but it's like, you know, I'm not going to call them to get a pedicure or can
find a secret in them because they'll just fucking tell it behind my back, but we're friends.
What about The Bachelor?
How do you feel about The Bachelor?
Um, I don't know how I don't know how.
feel about this next season.
I think it's going to be very interesting,
but I'm still gonna give it a good as gold
because I'm obsessed with Bachelor Nation.
It's filmed in Palm Springs,
and I can't wait to see the switchup
between Claire and Tasia, and also one of my friends
is on the season, so I'm really excited to see how-
Just one of your friends.
One of my friends, one of Brock's friends.
Okay.
All of my girlfriends really like,
and I was like, sorry ladies, he's on The Bachelorette.
Wow.
Yeah, so he was gone for a while.
We didn't hear from him for a while.
So I'm really excited to see how this went between the two girls.
Yeah, I'm excited.
It's gonna be so different.
I'm just excited to see kind of like how it all shakes out.
Yeah.
Same.
Like remember when they first, when they did that one season of The Bachelorette where they chose the Bachelorette, like, right then and there?
Is it gonna be like that where they're kind of like,
to like do a handoff and they're like you're up like so what what i think happened was it started
off with claire she sent some guys home but they didn't like you don't leave like immediately so they
probably had to put them back in like a sort of quarantine or whatever and then within like the
first week and a half she like knew she wanted this one guy and so they're like whoa wait we
can't wrap up the season that quick we still have the guys here in quarantine let's bring in
another chick and then start the show over. So I feel it's going to be like two or three episodes
of Claire and then the whole season's going to be Tasha. That's just my guess.
Sheena, I feel like in another life, you could have been the best Bachelorette.
You know, I was really, really rooting for myself for that the last couple of years. But, you know,
when ABC and Bravo, it just, if it was a Bravo Bachelorette, I would have been like, I'm doing this.
You're pictorial.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Let's manifest that.
Not for you, but like a
Bravo bachelor.
You know, they tried it with Shep,
and it just like,
it didn't work.
But it didn't work.
But that, and it was a cute name
for the show,
but, like, relationship.
I mean, that's his Instagram handle,
clever playing words.
Yeah.
But is he really an eligible bachelor?
I mean, he's an eligible one,
but is he, like, the best option for a bachelor?
It's a little messy.
Been there, done that.
Sheena, thank you so much for joining us.
This has been so fun.
Thank you.
Always a pleasure.
And it's fun to talk about stuff that's not just the show, so thank you.
And Sheena, can you just tell us about your podcast and where people can find it?
Yes.
