Starting point is 00:00:00 Girl, winter is so last season. And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders. That perfect hang on the patio sundress. Those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've had enough of shopping from your couch. Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope.
Starting point is 00:00:24 It's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross. Work your magic. Betches Media presents Ha ha, laugh, funny. Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast. We don't say that, but now we said it. With me, Dylan Hafer.
Starting point is 00:00:41 We're going to check me, boo. Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the Mention at All podcast. We have made it to our final episode of the week, and I am excited to talk about Summer House. We got the Lindsay and Carl Battle Royale this week that we have been waiting for, and it was over pretty quickly because of summer scenes. It's that the car pulled out.
Starting point is 00:01:05 So I'm excited to get into that. First, I do just want to have a little housekeeping item to talk about up top. We have had so much fun. We are hitting our five-year mark of doing this podcast. And since the beginning, we've been doing three episodes a week. And I have enjoyed it so much. We have had so many fun guests, so many fun episodes, all of that. And it's not going anywhere.
Starting point is 00:01:29 I just, we are going to be making a little switch. We're going to be doing two episodes a week. Starting next week, moving forward, we're going to have two episodes. We're still going to have lots of great guests. I'm still going to do solo episodes, recapping all our favorite shows. We are not really going to be cutting back on content. It's just going to be a little bit condensed. We're snipping out that third episode.
Starting point is 00:01:52 It's going to allow us to invest more creativity and, you know, planning and fun stuff into the episodes we are doing. And quite frankly, when there's light spots in the calendar, it's, it's, it's, It's just like that third episode sometimes. You're like, what are we doing here? What are we talking about? And I don't want to give you guys filler content. Nobody likes filler episodes.
Starting point is 00:02:12 So two episodes a week, starting next week. There are going to be some more fun, exciting news and announcements coming later this month. So stay tuned for that. But next week, we're going to be talking about the Valley premiere. We've got another fun guest coming up. So, you know, stay subscribed, stay following, you know, all the things, wherever you do them. But just wanted to let you guys know that. so you're not going to be missing anything. Also, I want to talk about something that P.K. posted
Starting point is 00:02:37 on his Instagram story. Now, P.K., not present at this Beverly Hills reunion. Of course, last week, we discussed the statement that he made about Doreet, which was not super nice, but, you know, maybe she deserved it. But yesterday, P.K, or I guess after the reunion on Tuesday night, P.K. posted on his Instagram story. This photo of him halfway into a hotel room doorway. And he's wearing like a, he's wearing like
Starting point is 00:03:13 track pants and white sneakers and a sweatshirt. Dressing a little young, I would say, for P.K. And this is very, it's very Joe Gorga, inspirational quote coded. You know, Joe Gorga loves to post his like copy past. like who wears this quote from?
Starting point is 00:03:34 Is it inspirational? Is it egotistical? It's always a question mark up in the air. But P.K. posted this photo and it says, it's better to admit you walked through the wrong door than to spend your life in the wrong room. Is this about to read? Like, what are we doing here? P.K., what are we doing here?
Starting point is 00:03:55 If you want to be in the conversation so bad, come to the reunion, babe. Sit down on the couch. Let Andy ask the questions. It's better to admit you walked through the wrong door than to spend your life in the wrong room. I just feel like if you are a man in your mid-50s, maybe going through a divorce, maybe just a separation, we aren't quite sure yet. Why are we doing all of this on social media? Why are we doing this on Instagram stories? Who took this photo?
Starting point is 00:04:28 I look, when people are going to, you know, when people are going. through things like this on Bravo. Obviously, I want to see the material. I want it to happen on the show. I want there to be, you know, I want the cameras to be invited in. But why are we doing all of this on Instagram stories? I am very curious kind of now that this season of Beverly Hills is coming to an end. What is the next step in the Doree and PKK experience?
Starting point is 00:04:56 Are we going to get another six to 12 months of, oh well I don't think we're going to get back together unless things change and are things going to change they could but they probably won't but maybe they will but uh you know is he drinking i don't want to say like or are we going to get a divorce announcement are we going to get a filing I just want filing like to me at this point if you're doing all of this on social media to make each other look bad or to, you know, be shady or sub-tweet or whatever, sub-instagram story. Cut the court. File the papers. Get a lawyer. It's done. Why are we doing this? You're in your 50s. You're in your 50s. It's a lot. But P.K., get off Instagram. Go, go get a job. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Make some money. I feel like you're going to need it. But let's talk about Summerhouse. We can get into Summerhouse now. We've gotten Pekay out of the way. And this episode is really, you know, the drama arc is just chugging right along from last week because of course Lindsay has, you know, gotten into her head that this nice woman, Lil, who with her homemade outfit and her lemur energy is a homewrecker, a homewrecking whore, I believe, as Lindsay says, and that Carl has cheated on her, or at least has thought about cheating on her in the past with this woman. And so she is not going to get this out of her head until she confronts Carl about it. And nothing says I'm over my ex, like confronting him at a Shabbat dinner.
Starting point is 00:06:40 But before we get there, you know, everybody's headed back to the house. Lindsay and Paige are driving out together. And this is an interesting little duo because there's, you know, Lindsay's like, oh, yeah, like Paige and I, we didn't use to get along, but now our friendship has come a long way. And Paige is like, you know what I learned from Lindsay is to never apologize, even when I'm wrong. I mean, ain't that the truth? It's very, it's very like Kristen Doty energy in a way. But it's kind of also foreshadowing because it's like Lindsay, Lindsay being wrong, it's happened before. And as we know, it'll happen again in about 10 minutes. In another car, we have Jesse, Lexi, and West.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Now, Lexi gets into the car. Jesse's driving, and she immediately is, like, across the center console, fully making out with him in the front seat of the car. And I'm like, you guys, this is a lot. And also, we find out that they have seen each other multiple times in the past week. So this is not like, oh, when will my husband return from war? It's been ages since I've seen you. I'm in my Kim Possible outfit, and I'm going to crawl across the front seat. to get my hands on you. It's like, no, so we find out after the kickball game, which was what,
Starting point is 00:07:56 five days ago, six days ago, it can't be more than a week. Lexi went home. She cried for two days because of Toagate and because of the comments about flirting with Sierra and all of that. She cried for two days. And then Jesse brought her flowers, took her out to dinner, so she was feeling better. And then that culminated earlier this week in her meeting his parents. Going out to dinner and we get a flash we get a flash bag. This is from the night before. I'm glad we don't have to watch this whole scene because frankly I think it would make my skin crawl. But Jesse's mom is like, so what do you like about our son? And she's like, you know, he's just silly boy. And you know, he's like, you know, he's so sweet and whatever. And you guys just like, you raise like a good
Starting point is 00:08:47 boy. And like, look, I know Lexi is 26. Like, she's, I think the youngest person in this cast. I get that, like, the dating vibe is different, but it's like, if I'm Jesse's mom and I'm sitting there with this, you know, beautiful 26-year-old young woman who's dating my son. And she can't stop saying how he's such a silly boy and a good boy and like, blah, blah, blah, blah. Like, grow up. a little bit. Grow up just a little bit. Jesse's mom doesn't want to hear about how he's a silly boy. You want to hear about how he's like a good, a good man and, you know, a compassionate, like a good person. I just think, like, we are starting to see, I think, more of those little, like, hairline fractures in the Jesse and Lexi dynamic, where I believe that they both really like each other and are. are excited about spending time together and are, you know, very clearly very turned on by each other.
Starting point is 00:09:55 But like, they're not quite in the same place. And we know, I mean, this is not a, this is not a mystery. We've heard Jesse talk about how, you know, he thought he was going to be, you know, single this summer and getting after it and all of this. And it's hard for him. First of all, it's like very hard for him to to be out in public and to behave and to, to not get into trouble. And I'm like, if it's that hard for you,
Starting point is 00:10:21 I mean, I don't want to, I don't want to give credence to Craig's relationship advice from a couple weeks ago. But when he was like, you got to find the girl that makes you not want to cheat on her, it seems like Jesse maybe needs to keep looking or maybe just like go be single for a while. Because later when they go out to the, they're like day drinking at a bar. And Lexi's there. Everybody's there.
Starting point is 00:10:46 and Jesse's like, I'm just trying to prove to myself that I can go out with the girl that I'm dating there and not have any slipups. And it's like, brother, it's 4 p.m. It's the daylight outside. Get it. She's right there. If you're feeling like you have, like, if you're horny at the bar, just like go talk to the person that you're having sex with. why is it so hard for you to not misbehave? Like, it's not like Lexi is gone for a month and you're like, oh, my God, I just, I need the touch of a woman. It's like, she's right there. You slept with her last night. But then on the flip side, like, Lexi has her own stuff and she has her own expectations that Jesse is kind of starting to wrap his mind around. And this episode, it comes up with the Instagram following situation.
Starting point is 00:11:42 where he's talking to, you know, Paige and Amanda. And he's like, yeah, she, she came up to me and she was like, I noticed that you've been following girls on Instagram since we met. And he's like, what? How do you even, why would, what would, how do you even, how can you see that? Why are you thinking about that? It's like, first of all, I feel like Jesse just like, it's like some people, sleepwalk or like, you know, eat candy bars in their sleep. Jesse is just like following chicks on
Starting point is 00:12:17 Instagram in the middle of the night and like forgetting about it. But then Lexi, obviously, she's a 26 year old, you know, beautiful young woman. She clearly has some insecurities when it comes to people being faithful with her. She's going to notice. She's going to bring it up. And Paige and Amanda are like, I mean, yeah, like when I was 26, I was literally like banging down people's doors if they weren't responding to my text message. She's going to see who you're following on Instagram. And then Jesse notices that. when he does the opposite, when he unfollows a bunch of girls on Instagram, without even being prompted, Lexi is like, he, he, thank you for unfollowing a bunch of girls on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:12:51 This is going to be the dynamic. She is who she is. I feel like she's been pretty open about that. I don't think that this is a situation where Lexi has acted like she is this chill girl who's never going to expect anything or never going to, you know, ask any questions and now is kind of flipping the script. Like, I actually think she's been very upfront. I think that Jesse is more the person who needs to, you know, figure out whether or not Lexi's deal is actually what he wants.
Starting point is 00:13:20 And it seems like maybe by the end of the season, the answer is kind of no. Because right now it's like, remember, it has literally been a month. And they say, like, we've been dating for a month. No, they met a month ago. So he already thinks it's a little weird that she's meeting the parents. He already thinks it's a little weird that she is like, you know, high. hypersensitive about toe-sucking and, you know, flirting with somebody that you say is like your sister, even though I think everybody would agree that that doesn't seem to be the actual energy.
Starting point is 00:13:50 But, like, I think that Lexi knows what she wants. And if, if, if, if Jesse wants to be single, then he should just be single. I don't know. We've got a, we've got, we've got a good chunk of the summer left to go. But also, she spent two days crying after kickball. Two days crying. I want better for her. And I don't mean better than Jesse.
Starting point is 00:14:10 I just mean I want her to have, I want her to be in a situation that's going to be like not making her cry for two days after kickball. And I think Jesse is sort of starting to realize that it's maybe a little too hot and heavy for him because toward the end of the episode, Paige is like, don't you think it's like a little crazy that you've met each other a month ago and you've already like had a big issue that you've had to work through and overcome? Like this should be easy, breezy honeymoon phase. you're hanging out in the Hamptons every weekend and getting drunk and having a good time. Like, it shouldn't be this hard. It's like the same thing of when couples are like, you know, marriage is amazing
Starting point is 00:14:49 and it's the most beautiful blessing in the world, but like, it's hard fucking work. It is every day. You are straining to be the person that that person needs you to be. It's like, it shouldn't be that hard. I don't know. I think Jesse,
Starting point is 00:15:06 Lexi are, you know, there's a ticking clock there. Make every get-together chill. This Memorial Day, get up to an extra $1,000 off select top brand appliances like LG. Starting point is 00:16:05 That's why you wrap. But we got to talk about Lindsay and Carl. So Lindsay, of course, is coming into this weekend, chip on her shoulder, raring to go. And I love that in the car with Paige, she's like, just making sure. Carl hasn't heard from anyone that I'm, like, extremely pissed off about this, right? She wants to get his ass. She's like, I don't want him to have any time to get a story stray to figure out, to know that I'm coming with this. She wants to roll into that Shabbat dinner and blow it the fuck up.
Starting point is 00:16:42 It was going so nicely. They have this, yeah, they have the Shabbat dinner. You know, Jesse is, is singing one of the Hebrew prayers. Like, he's trying to get a record deal. You know, respect to Jesse. He's really, we got it, you can sing. Lindsay is like moaning and grumbling. The second Carl gets in the house, she's like, oh, yeah, there he is.
Starting point is 00:17:05 There he is. Fuck my life, right? little much. It's a little much, but they sit down at the table and Jesse, you know, in the spirit of Shabbat, they're lighting the candles. And he has, he's like, let's go around the table. And let's just like share something from the week, you know, some positive energy, some energy that we're bringing into the next week, you know, just something light and fun. Now, you know, this isn't maybe the most inspired shady Bravo table game that we've ever had. But I appreciate it. you know, Jesse's dipping his toes into the waters of mess.
Starting point is 00:17:42 And we got, like, a couple people sharing something nice and simple. And then Carl's like, you know, like, my thing, I went on a date this week, and I realized that I'm going to keep dating. I'm going to date people. I'm going to see other people. And we've already found out that he, so he and Lil went on a date and she brought him a lemon. And she's like, oh, yeah, like, when life gives you lemons. Sorry, like, Lil, look. she like got mad at me for saying that her outfit looked home-aid.
Starting point is 00:18:13 I'm sorry. Like, weird, like weird vibes. Like a weirdo. And Carl says it too. He's like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:18:21 like her energy is just like a little saney. Better off his friends. Better off as me not talking to her and maybe I'll see her parents at another soccer game. And if we do, we do. But if we don't, that's fine too. But anyway,
Starting point is 00:18:34 Carl says at the table, I went on a date. I'm going to keep dating. And Lindsay's like, hmm, a first date? And Carl's like, yeah. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:18:44 She's like, mm. Because this is, so you've been DM me since last summer? Since last summer when we were together. So she's a homeworking whore. So she's a cheater. So you're a cheater. Because you've already been proven to be a liar. So you're a fucking cheater too.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? I, look. Lindsay, obviously we know that she was like, objectively wrong in this situation. But also just like the energy that she, the way that she went about it, was so, so hot and heavy, so bothered that I just, I just want to like pull her to the side
Starting point is 00:19:21 for a second and be like, hey, girl, um, you seem like you're doing amazing. You seem like you're so moved on. Like, everything is like a hundred percent great. Like, you're so happy with your new man and you're pregnant and great and amazing. And obviously, like, Carl is like, you know, literally a speck of dust in the rear of mirror. Like, who cares? All of that. But like, um, You seem really, really mad about this. And first of all, you haven't technically gotten confirmation. You're saying that, like, Lil is out here telling people that she was messaging you last summer. But also, it's just, like, even if it's true, I think it would be a good look for Lindsay to not really give as much of a fuck as she obviously does.
Starting point is 00:20:03 But whatever, the heart feels what it feels. You know, she needs to let out, whatever steam she needs to let out. And Carl's like, well, that's not true. I, um, we weren't talking until after the summer. And Lizzie's like, but you met her parents at a fucking soccer game? And he's like, yeah. And then we started talking later. And I don't, he, she's like, she wants to see the receipts.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Now, Jesse, this is so funny. Jesse has had everyone put their phone in like a basket. So the table is a no phone zone, which like Shabbat, you know, technology. I don't know. But Carl's like, I can't even get my phone out of the basket because it's charging upstairs. And Lindsay's response to this is like, well, that's real convenient. Like Carl, who didn't even know that Lindsay was going to bring this up, has had some sort of, you know, that's so Raven level epiphany that it's like, oh, I better not have my phone at the table in case anything goes awry. Lindsay at this point, it's like full tinfoil hat conspiracy about this Carl and Lil thing.
Starting point is 00:21:06 And she's like, well, yeah, you should go get your phone. I would like to see it. I would like to see the receipts. I would like you to prove it. fucking prove it. And Jesse tells them that God has delivered the message that it's okay just for this one moment to get the phone and to share the receipts. So Carl diligently goes upstairs and gets his phone, shows off October, late October.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Like October 20th, 22nd, something like that is the first message between him and Lil. And it's just like so tough to watch Lindsay be faced with this information because she's like, so it was October. It was October. and Carl's like, mm-hmm, after we broke up, not during the summer, like you said. She's like, so like, but you met his parents in the summer? You didn't tell me that you met her parents in the summer. And Carl's like, yeah, because I don't just tell you that I met like a nice random set of parents out of soccery.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Lindsay, like, she just was so correct in her mind. and then to watch her be presented with the alternative facts that prove her wrong. But she like, she, that energy, she has to put that energy somewhere. And she's just desperately looking for anything else. She's like, but the parents. October. The parents. Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Okay. Okay. Fine. It's like when you're so mad about something and you're proven wrong, but you're like, you're still mad. You just now don't have a reason to be. And I just like, I wish that, hadn't let herself get to this place.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Because it's just a lot. And then later after the dinner, we see her, she's on the phone with Turner up in her room. And she's like, oh yeah, Carl needs to tell his little girlfriend to stop telling people that, that they were messaging in the summer. Because, you know, she's making it seem like she's a homeworking whore. And, you know, if I find out that something like this is true, I'm still going to have an issue with it, even 10 years from now.
Starting point is 00:23:04 And I just like, this is one of those moments. where even aside from like the TV show element of it, taking a step back, it's like for you to be on the phone with your current boyfriend spiraling out about something that your ex-boyfriend actually didn't do and to say that even 10 years from now, this will still get you activated as fuck. How is that making the current boyfriend feel?
Starting point is 00:23:33 What is Turner doing on the other end of this phone call? He's like, oh my God. this again, this again, 10 years from now, we're going to have a daughter in fifth grade. We can't be doing this 10 years from now. I just like, I hope that Lindsay and Turner are like doing well or doing however they want to be doing. But like, man, this episode was a tough look for Lindsay. And I just like, ah, Carl is like telling Kyle. that Lindsay clearly hasn't healed.
Starting point is 00:24:09 And he says that she's also lying about his mom. We saw Sharon last episode being like, she was mean to me too. And so Carl is saying that Lindsay is acting like Sharon never reached out to her when actually she did and she like didn't respond. I don't really care about Sharon Radke to be perfectly honest. But like, it just is messy. And I think that I'm really hoping that when it comes to the reunion, I hope that Lindsay
Starting point is 00:24:36 can take down that wall a little bit of needing everyone to know that she is so healed and so moved on and so over it and actually let herself be a little bit vulnerable. Because I believe that she is happier not being with Carl. And I believe that she is, you know, excited about being a mom. And, you know, when we see the, when they're filming the reunion, it'll be post-her. her having a baby, she'll be in a completely different place. But like, I think it would benefit everyone if she can admit that during this season, she still had some stuff that she was working through about her and Carl's relationship.
Starting point is 00:25:21 I don't think that diminishes her new relationship. I don't think that, you know, takes away from her being happy about having a baby. I think that it would actually give her a lot of credit to be able to say, like, yeah, it was, it was like weird and hard to have to do this this summer. And, you know, maybe I'm glad I did. Maybe there's things I would have done differently. But like, yeah, it was, it was a little, it was a little shitty. And I maybe didn't handle everything perfectly because I think that is the, the frustration. I'm, you know, I, I love Lindsay on this show. I think that she's an important part of this show. But like, it feels a little crazy to watch this whole season. And she's like, I don't care. Why would I care?
Starting point is 00:26:05 This isn't weird. I'm good. I'm good. I'm so happy. I'm good. I don't know. I just like, I want everybody to be, I want everybody to be like in a good place. And I think that hopefully, hopefully this was Lindsay's like sort of one. She needed to like get it out. She had to get this like one source of anger out of her system. You know, Lil, it sounds like it's not going to be around the house much, if at all anymore. You know what's funny. So Carl and Lil went on one day. and then he decided that they, like, weren't going to keep seeing each other. But still, last week when the episode aired and Lindsay was first kind of dragging Lil's name through the mud, Lil posted screenshots of the DM to, like, clear up the situation. It's just funny, because if I were Lil, I feel like I would be getting as far away as possible from any of this nonsense. And I guess she was clearing her own name, but it also felt like she was kind of sticking up for Carl by posting that story. and I don't know. I'm kind of just like, girl, like, go take your lemons somewhere that they're wanted.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Go find a greener pasture or lemon orchard or... I don't know where lemons grow. Yolanda Hadid's old house, maybe. Good sleep is everything. Page and Sierra have another good combo about Craig, though. It does feel like
Starting point is 00:28:28 the train is on the tracks to break up town and it's only a matter of time, which obviously we know that that's the case. But Page is really just like, I feel like the last few episodes since Craig was at the at the house for that weekend, it feels like Paige has been starting to put together more of where her feelings are actually at. You know, she's a month away from going on the Giggly squad tour and she, I think, you know, has really come to the conclusion that it sucks that Craig is not being as supportive as she'd like him to be. She says explicitly she has no interest in moving to Charleston. She doesn't want to raise kids in Charleston as the breadwinner. As the breadwinner, she feels like it should be on Craig to move to her, which like, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:29:16 whatever. Everybody can come to their own situations of what works. I don't think there needs to be like a black and white, like the breadwinner decides where you live, but I get where she's coming from also. And I think that Sierra gives a good piece of advice that she feels like right now, Paige is saying all these things and making all these decisions and sort of putting she's putting the responsibility on Craig to almost call it. And it's like Paige is pushing away Craig in the hopes that Craig will decide that this isn't what he wants. And Sierra basically tells Paige like, you need to decide what you want.
Starting point is 00:29:56 And if your decision is that you don't want to be with Craig anymore, don't try and get him to break up with you first. You need to just, you know, man up and do it. and also like Craig I don't think Craig was ever going to break up with Paige but it seems like that's kind of going to be the rest of the season for Paige is like coming to grips with the idea that she might have to be the one to just break it off
Starting point is 00:30:23 and we know that eventually she is so that's kind of where we're at this week Carl emotional about the anniversary of his brother's death I always you know I always like when the people in the house can be really open with their emotions about that so you know Not really dramatic, but it's been nice to see.
