Girl, winter is so last season.
And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs.
You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sundress.
Those sandals you can wear all day and all night.
And you've had enough of shopping from your couch.
Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope.
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.
Betch's media presents.
Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All.
A Bravo by Betcha's podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With Dylan Hafer.
Oh, don't check me, boo.
And Barry Rosenfeld.
I need to start drinking alcohol.
Now go to sleep week.
Hey, everyone, and welcome back to the Mention at All podcast.
I am Dylan Hafer.
And I'm Barry Rosenfeld.
Happy.
Happy Salt Lake City premier.
Premiere.
Buba, boo.
Like, finally, a new...
The girls are back.
New feds?
New...
New indictment just dropped.
Oh, what an episode.
What an episode.
Before we get too far into it, just a little housekeeping.
We're talking about Salt Lake City today.
And then on Tuesday's episode, we will be recapping Real House Lives.
Potomac. We want to give everyone their time to shine. So, you know, we're going to just
split things up for this week. The Sunday nights, oh my God, this Sunday night line up is,
baby. This Sunday night lineup is honestly stressful, like, in a good way, but in a way where I'm like,
damn, I got to like, I got to like carb load before 8 p.m. on Sundays because it's, you know,
two hours or two hours and 15 minutes of ripping television.
Okay, but I also have my Sunday night starting this Sunday because today is the first
night of football and now football is interfering with my Bravo on Sunday.
So I have a whole, oh gosh.
Yeah, that sounds really difficult.
Yeah, it's just a lot, you know.
I feel like out of all the people watching Bravo, probably only like two.
2% are like, damn, now it's football too. Like, for me, I'm like, okay, okay, have fun.
Let's not waste any time getting into this premiere. We all saw the first couple minutes
have been already circulating on social media. So we all knew that this, you know, little flash
forward of being on the bus in the beauty lab parking lot. And Jen Shaw gets
that phone call telling her to run for her little life.
Allegedly.
I mean, maybe not to run, but she doesn't,
she clearly didn't want to be arrested on the bus in the beauty lab parking lot.
Well, also.
And who would?
I mean, come on.
I mean, there, me,
I don't know.
There,
there is that,
that shot of her looking directly into the camera while she is on the phone.
And someone fucking screenshot of that.
and that is chilling.
Because it's like we will never hear
the other end of that phone call
but you can tell the moment
she knows the jig is up
and it's the feds
and like oh my God
oh my God it's just
even just the first second
she appears and steps
onto the bus in that outfit
the braids the fur of the jeans
because we've seen we've been
I haven't stopped thinking about that outfit
for like six months and it's like
Oh, it's near.
The day, obviously, that this happened,
we couldn't stop talking about her glam.
And now we're, like, seeing it reverse, like, on television.
And she is like, imagine, though, keeping your cool.
She knows what no one else knows on that bus.
So when she walks back on and she's like, I got to go.
What do you think her blood pressure was at that point?
Like, what do you think?
Oh, she?
Her plan of action, what?
Like, what?
That's, okay, that's why I don't actually think that she was, like, trying to run.
I think she just didn't want to be there when it happened.
Because if you find out that it's like, if you find out that there's an arrest warrant for you, you're going to get indicted.
They have this whole investigation.
Like, Jen Shaw is not the kind of, she might run, but she can't hide.
You know, like, where's she hiding?
Come on.
And that should be our new sign off.
You can run, but you can hide.
You can hide.
You can hide.
You can hide.
I said you can hide.
I fucked it up.
Jen Shaw is not just going to go to like some small town in Indiana and pretend that she is just like some normal person who, you know, nobody has any backstory on.
Like, Jen Shaw is going to be noticed wherever she is.
But now all the, that once she leaves and the police actually show up, like, all the women are like, what is happening?
There's a helicopter.
There's a helicopter.
What?
I'm sorry, as a viewer, and I know obviously everyone, see,
I can't believe still that they aired this.
This is crazy.
Right.
Like, we talk about, like, Beverly Hills,
and we're like, that dinner with Sutton and Erica was intense.
And it's like, this is fucking intense.
I truly think Bravo was like,
we got to step it up a notch.
We are losing viewers.
left and right. How can we reel
them back in? Ah, someone getting
arrested by the FBI.
That'll work. To watch
them. So then they go on
this trip, you know, like they start
the trip. They're like on the bus.
And Whitney's getting the updates
on her phone like, Chencha,
indicted, fraud. Yeah,
like stealing people's money. Yeah, she was
indicted for fraud. And it's
like all of them are just kind of like,
oh, this is
this is like real.
It's like really not good.
It's not like some little thing.
And obviously we know it's bad.
And we're going to see a lot more of it.
But wow.
I mean, truly hats off to these editors because the way they just grabbed our attention,
I mean, they did what they needed to do.
And they did it well.
Extremely well.
And this is the craziest thing.
That was only the first two minutes.
of the new season.
We obviously talked about this already,
but like Jen is not holding back on social media.
She is doing lives.
She is just like living.
And we need this content.
So it's really great.
Yeah,
it's going to be good.
Maybe someone should tell her in her team to just like chill for a second.
So shifting into the other 50 minutes of the episode,
this group is one of those groups where they started filming basically right
after the reunion. And even before we don't have an inkling of any of the Jen stuff,
there's plenty going on. And I think this group, the way their first season ended and then
the reunion, there were a lot of kind of loose ends that weren't, you know, that we still
wanted to explore. And I think the, the dynamic between Jen and Lisa and Meredith and then Lisa has
an issue with Whitney and Heather and their friends with Meredith. It's this kind of like,
like figure eight of who's friends with who and like who's upset that somebody else is friends
with those people. Like there is, there are such interesting layers in this friend group. And it's like,
okay, so we, we have a lot of different things to unpack because it's like,
Heather says that she owes an apology to Lisa and Lisa's clearly still mad at Heather. And then
there's the Jen and Meredith of it all.
And the, you know, the Lisa and Meredith have, you know, it's, I'm, it's great.
It's really great.
I'm, I'm very excited for this season.
But after the two minutes, the first two minutes, the editor, I'm sorry, we got to give
another shout out to this production team because I just cannot.
We go straight into chalet 2.0 because why, why would we not want, yeah, why would we
not want to see her entire closet?
her new house.
It's the same thing.
It's like a parallel universe.
Like she stole all this money.
And now she has a brand new house and closet.
And I can't believe she said this.
She was like, I like wrote this down.
She was like, yeah, the movers said they've never seen so many clothes bags and shoes before.
I was like, stop talking while the cameras are there, Jen.
Like first of all, from a legal perspective, that comment has not aged well.
But also, like, I would feel bad.
if I hired a moving company and I knew that it was the worst move they'd ever had to do.
Like when I, I moved last month and before the movers came, I felt like I was literally
trying to like condense my stuff as much as possible. I was like, oh, like, I'm like, sorry,
like I, because I felt bad I had like tote bags and things and like.
Imagine moving Mary's closet.
No. You would have to move the whole building. Like, you just pick, like, do one of those like
earth mover.
Yeah, like there's no packing in that.
Like just.
Mary's closet that she spent six months alone talking to herself inside of.
I was talking to the Madagans.
Jen tells us that she almost got divorced from Sharif six months ago, which is news.
Like I don't think anybody really was talking about that.
Not talking about it, but I don't think anyone would have been that shocked if it happened.
But like to hear her say that, you know, he had talked to a divorce attorney and it really seemed like he was done.
Yeah.
You know, that's a big deal.
And like I feel like this season, obviously I have a lot of feelings about Jen's legal situation.
But until we get there, it's like, you know, you can't like I'm trying to just evaluate like what we're being shown.
And I'm like, that's, I mean, that's intense.
And it's, I'm happy for her that they have.
you know,
gotten to a little bit of a better place.
I agree.
Listen,
I'm glad.
You never want to see
anyone's marriage end,
but at the same time,
you know my thoughts as well about Jen.
And I was never a number one fan of her.
And I thought her behavior last season was disgusting.
So it was like,
it was like,
that's true.
It was like kind of her relationship and all the fights that they were having kind
of came to a head and now they're dealing with it.
Because listen,
they have been married.
There are another couple who's been married a very long time.
I think 20 years,
around 20 years.
they've been together.
Yeah, longer because they're,
because Reefie, Reefie is
27.
Right.
Jen is pretty sure he's turning 27.
I don't think,
I don't think we'll probably talk about this scene much.
So I just want to say it now.
I love that they introduce us to Jen's aunt
who had both her legs amputated.
Because that was such a last season
when they had the hospital smell fight.
That felt like such a random like throwaway thing
that it's like, yeah,
I smelled like hospital because my aunt got both her legs amputated and it's like, no, that wasn't a lie.
Like, here's the aunt with her bionic legs.
Yeah, not only did they bring her.
Yeah, they lifted her pants to like show the legs and like.
They were like, so if Nani is going to be on screen, like we need to see the, we need to see the legs.

This season has been off to like a fabulous start.
We're not even more halfway through the first episode, literally.
Like last season, I remember because it was like a new show.
Remember, like, in the beginning, I was like, I don't really remember who they have all similar.
Not similar, but their names are so.
Like, I was like, who's Heather?
Who is Marit?
Who is Lisa?
For the, for a, like, Meredith.
Everybody was getting Meredith and Lisa confused for like half of the first season.
But yeah, we, we get a really nice scene with our new housewife, Jenny.
Yeah.
And she is, Lisa is over at her house and she brings Jack because Jack and Lisa and Jenny's son Atlas have been
best friends since they were like little little kids. And that's how Lisa and Jenny met. And I love this
origin story for the two of them because it feels like I don't think we've had many friends on housewives
who actually met because their kids were friends. And so their relationship automatically just
feels more authentic because it's like, oh, I don't think you're like lying about the fact that
your sons are like, have known each other forever. Yeah, I also think it'll be cool to see Lisa's
dynamic with Jenny because her and Meredith came on to the show already being friends,
but her and Jenny are already friends as well, but in a different, like you said,
in a different way.
So I'm kind of interested to see the different Lisa, if there is one, I'm not sure.
I mean, different people have different vibes, you know, like with individual people.
So they seem to have a fun back and forth.
I love that.
Jenny's husband Dewey is a chiropractor and he just like gives Jack an adjustment in the house.
It's like, wait, what?
I know.
Like she's like, okay, you go down and get adjusted.
We're going to sit here.
We're going to talk.
Jenny seems fun though.
Like her, she has a really, you know, powerful story about how she, you know, left Vietnam as a refugee on a boat and, you know, spent time in this camp in Thailand.
and then got brought by missionaries to California.
You know, she really clearly has lived, you know, a lot of life and, you know, a very different
background than we're used to seeing on housewives.
But at the same time, it's like she clearly has the, you know, housewife life.
She has the glamour.
She has all of that.
And so it's fun to see people from different backgrounds who are now in these same social circles.
and it's like too soon to really get an exact read on like what Jenny's going to be like,
but I'm, I'm intrigued.
Yeah, I am too.
And she also has really cute kids.
And I want to see her for,
I want to see her more in like a group dynamic.
She's almost,
she's almost giving me like Mia vibes right now.
I need to like, you know,
we were obviously just introduced to her in one episode.
And I like her so far,
but I need to see her,
you know,
with a group.
We needed to know if we're going to bring her in or not.
Right. Okay. So let's talk about Sister Mary, who is taking on a new project. She's fueled by the spirit of the Lord to begin a podcast.
Well, because she's been talked. Yes, because she's been talking to herself.
So Robert Sr. got stuck in Florida for six months at the beginning of COVID. And so she was just in the house alone talking to herself. And she said, why not start a podcast? Which I thought it's really, she's not not relatable in this moment. But the.
contents of our podcasts are a little different. A little. Because Mary is just, it's just fully about
Jesus. Yeah, it's like she's pre. She's just, she's praying. She's, she's, she's telling other
people how to pray. I love how she's like, no, no, that's not how it. No, you got to feel it. Well,
yeah, and they're both, like, her and this guy are both doing like full, like, sermons on the podcast.
And, you know, it's probably not something that I would listen to.
but um listen i'm sure there's an audience for it yeah i'm sure there's an audience for it i will say i looked
on uh spotify and i didn't see any evidence of this podcast existing but but maybe i mean maybe
she's maybe she just recorded it way far in advance and is going to drop it now yeah maybe that maybe
that's like her plan but i don't but they they they show up for a long time her talking on this podcast
Okay, okay.
Well, I'm assuming she can talk until someone literally stops her.
Well, that's true.
Yeah, she's not kind of a derit energy once she gets going.
Imagine the two of them.
But, you know, it's funny before you just said, you looked it up.
I was going to say, like, within the religion category on podcast, like, I wonder if she, like, reads.
Oh, my gosh.
I've never even thought about that.
Yeah.
No, like there's definitely a lot of, you know.
What's it called?
Oh, God, what did they say?
I just looked up Mary Cosby, to be honest.
But it was like Mary talks or.
Wait, I think that.
Yeah, I think that.
And it was so funny when she started it.
She like, she like didn't know.
She was like, huh.
All right.
She was like, so, I'm Mary.
We're sitting.
I'm Mary.
I'm Mary.
I'm very.
Bless this podcast.
Father.
She is just, she is so kooky.
The.
the confessional look where she's wearing like that black and white hat and like 50 necklaces.
It's just no one else.
No one else could and no one else would wear that.
But it just feels right for her.
But also speaking of Doreet,
I don't know why we have randomly made this connection of her and Doreet now,
but that look reminds me of the look of her of Doret and P.K.
And the confessionally looked like the hamburger.
Yes.
Oh, yeah.
It's very that.
And I mean, like, if you wanted to keep making connections between Mary and Doreet, like, some would say they both have had some like questionable financial stuff.
So I don't know.
Yeah.
We'll see.
We'll see what's happening with Mary this season.
I'm excited to see her more ingrained in the group because last season it was kind of weird because she wasn't necessarily supposed to be full time the entire time they were filming.
So she kind of was missing for a while, like stuck in the closet.
But we see
It's literally like
Someone had her in there
No I know
I know also
Wait we forgot to mention earlier
When about Jen's divorce
The little tidbit that Jen and Lisa
Are now very close friends
Yes
Like
And that has
You know that'll
And Lisa
You know Lisa is very complimentary
Of Jen's new house
She says I love that
To every single room
She's like
Oh I love
that. Oh, Chen. I love that. I love that. Oh, my God. It reminds me when you and I do that,
because I remember doing it last season too. Watch what happens live when they're like,
anytime you hear this, take a, take a drink. I love that. So then Mary has her first,
her first little group scene of the season at this igloo lunch with Meredith and Whiton.
and Heather, and I like this little foursome because I feel like they are, at least for right now,
they are kind of like the drama-free ones in the group, sort of-ish.
Like I feel like Jen and Lisa are kind of the center of the conflict, at least for the moment.
And so, you know, the four of them, they share a really nice moment.
Meredith talks about her father passing away.
And, you know, Mary and Heather just went through that.
you know, like the previous year so they can really, you know, offer her support through that.
And it just felt like, it felt like a nice, felt like a nice moment.
And seeing, I mean, seeing Meredith emotional really, it like got to me.
It made me sad.
Yeah.
I mean, I feel like she's also like had a rough year.
Not really rough, but the fact that like she just her and Seth kind of figured out like
what they were doing.
And I feel it's what she say, it's like 50-50.
So it's like a lot that she's going through.
just said in general, but I love Meredith.
Okay, so I have decided.
I decided it even before the premiere, but after last season, I remember, and I still feel
the same about Lisa, but I said that Meredith was, like, was kind of more boring with
Lisa, but I feel like she has really, and I wanted to see her like on her.
And I feel like she's literally doing that.
Like she's breaking out and like hanging out and getting closer at the other women, which is
what I'm excited to see.
Yeah, it's hard when it's the first season
And they're probably not filming for that long
Yeah
Because they're not doing either doing fewer episodes
You know, they're just getting started
They may not like Meredith
I don't think really knew anyone besides
Jen and Lisa before the show
So it's like with people like Whitney, Heather and Mary
She was probably still sort of getting to know them
And if I had to guess
I don't think Meredith is the kind of person who
maybe lets people in super quickly.
So it does feel like this season already,
she feels more comfortable around the entire group.
And I think also,
I would imagine once you've been on a show like this for a season
and you're coming back,
you have a little better idea of sort of how to,
how to open up on camera and like,
you know,
maybe you're not sharing every single detail of your life,
but how to kind of give enough to the camera while also still feeling comfortable within yourself.
And I feel like for somebody like Meredith, I would imagine that that makes a big difference
because she clearly doesn't like to have her personal shit dragged through the mud too much
and she's not trying to be messy.
But yeah, I think her back and forth with Lisa right now over being friends with Jen
is super authentic to me because Jen has done this stuff about.
Brooks and posted on social media and talked about it in whatever interview she did.
I think that is something that knowing what I know about Meredith,
I can see her being like super pissed off about that.
And I think rightfully so.
What don't any of these women get about not talking about other women's children?
It doesn't matter that Brooks is, you know, not a child.
He's, he's an adult.
but like why are you talking shit or getting involved or even insinuating anything about someone's kid?
That's just really low.
And it would be one thing if it was like more of a generic joke or a statement or something.
But it's like she's liking stuff about like his sexuality and, you know, about him like needing to get, you know, like beat up.
I can't remember the exact like tweets.
But it's just like, icky.
stuff and is she mad because Brooks is making his own money and she's stealing other people's
allegedly all of our all of our salt lake city episodes just need to have like allegedly
but speaking of Brooks when Whitney had that little small scene with her stepchildren who are
just like a year or two younger than her she changed really quick I don't know if you
notice she was in a bathing soon then she quickly like put on a brook
Brooks Mark's track suit had to toe.
Oh my God, I missed that.
It was very quick.
She was wearing it.
After dropping the cake on the ground three times in a row, I can't.
I'm mad at Whitney for that one.
I would have eaten it still.
But so at this igloo lunch, Heather, first of all, is very upfront about the fact that
she knows she needs to apologize to Lisa, which I love this because I feel like, I don't
this is her own thinking or if like a producer had to talk with her,
but this is the exact right attitude going into a new season where it's like,
we still have this complex dynamic, but I know what I can bring to the table to move
forward.
And I feel like next episode we're probably going to get a situation with Heather and
Lisa.
And I think the apology will be important.
But at the same time, given her conversation with Meredith,
I don't think Lisa is going to be like, okay, great, we're friends again.
Correct.
But I also feel like Heather is a breakthrough star of a housewife and is a fan favorite and knows exactly what she's doing in the best way possible.
So I agree, but I think this, this season is going to be a little tricky for Heather because we can see from, you know, pictures that they post and social media and stuff.
Heather is sticking by Miss Jen Shaw
as far as we know
and she seems to be kind of
the most supportive one out of the cast
which is going to be
I don't know
we'll see how everything plays out
in more specifics but just
from the looks of it it's like
okay
well I agree because last season two
that was the one thing I really didn't like
about Heather also she was just standing by
her you know she Heather loved
being a good friend and she was just being a good friend. But that's exactly what I guess
Rina's doing too. Well, you know, she's, she's drunk on the friendship juice. She's drunk on
Jen's friendship juice. And I, I loved that Mary Cosby called that out. And she said, it's not,
that's, that's weird. Like, you're not drunk on the juice. Like, that's a choice. And I,
because that's, I feel like, we didn't get that like commentary on the social.
situations from Mary last season.
And like, I think Mary is a very strange person.
I think she is a little bit, you know, off center.
But I want to know what she's thinking.
And I feel like she's right about that, that it's like, get over it.
Like, Jen sucks.
Yeah, I think that Mary's the type of person that we need to sometimes sit back and like, listen to.
She doesn't, she doesn't.
Yeah.
She talks to herself more than she talks to other people.
But when she does give like that one liner, it's kind of.
I know if she knows what she's talking about.
I think.
I think.
I'm not confident in that, but.
I'm not confident about anything with Mary,
but I'm down to watch and be surprised.
You better be here else Jesus is coming.
Oh, my God.
But we finished off the episode with this Shabbat dinner
that Meredith hosts for her family and Lisa's family.
I thought this was so nice because just a few weeks ago
we were watching a Shabbat dinner on Real Housewives of New York that was a fucking disaster.
And I mean, depending on how you look at it, it was like mildly offensive or extremely offensive.
I'm also laughing that Shabbat dinners are now like the thing to do on Housewives.
I love it.
This Shabbat dinner, everybody seemed, everybody was so respectful.
And it was just these two families.
Obviously, the Mark's family has kind of gone through it lately with Meredith's.
dad passing away.
And it's these two families that have known each other for a long time.
And it just was like a nice night.
And obviously, Meredith and Lisa had some words on the couch, like five feet away from
where everyone else was standing.
But it was still a nice night.
It was.
But I, so this is the only thing.
Like, Lisa is saying she doesn't want her friendship with Jen to affect her friendship
with Meredith, because she knows Meredith and Jen are friends.
However, she's like spinning it and is like.
like, well, Meredith, you're friends with Heather and Whitney.
It's so different.
Just kind of like me being friends with Jen.
It's so different.
First of all, I just want to give myself a little pat for like nail, like the, all those
names and nailing and who's on each side.
But it's like, it is a very different.
And that just goes to show you like Lisa is just using that as like, uh, totally.
I think Lisa has decided for whatever reason, whether it's friendship wise or like TV show,
wise. She's decided that for right now, she, her friendship with Jen is valuable. And so she is
kind of like maneuvering to try and figure, you know, she's trying to get Meredith and
Jen back on the same page. But I think she needs to be a little more receptive to what Meredith
is saying where she's like, it's not that I never want to speak to Jen again, but like,
Jen needs to understand that what she's doing isn't okay.
And if I am going to have any kind of relationship with her,
she must apologize.
And I think Lisa's kind of like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But like, but like she understands, she knows.
She can apologize, whatever, whatever.
And then like, everything would be good.
Like, it's not that big of a deal.
Like, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Like, so Jen will apologize.
It's all good.
And Meredith's like, okay, so like I am open to hearing what Jen has to say.
but like I think Lisa wants it to be like really automatic that she's just going to like get them back together.
And it's like, no, there's that's going to be a process, definitely.
Yeah.
And she's just not, we've seen Meredith for.
She's just not interesting.
Like she's she's not engaging.
She's disengaging.
She's disengaging.

But I don't know.
But with that said,
everyone should go and get our new Bravo legal team hat
because I just feel like that's a perfect little segue
into our shop.
