Episode Date: October 2, 2026This week, Dylan starts with some breaking news from outside of the reality TV world: Ariana Madix might be starring in… a scripted drama series? After unpacking what we know so far, Dylan dives int...o the penultimate episode of RHUGT, which sees Luann’s diva meter at an all-time high during her Halloween party. Calculating route to avoid seeing poverty.
Turn left to bypass the unhoused youth sleeping on the street.
Then keep right to skip by the lines of people waiting for food.
Steer clear of the crowded shelter turning people away, then take the next exit.
Let's stop looking away and get in the way of rising poverty.

We are going to have a great episode of the Mentioner All podcast.
Hey everyone, welcome back to the Mention at All podcast.
It is a great Thursday afternoon.
I feel like the vibes this week are, you know, kind of easy, breezy, beautiful.
It's just, I don't know, it's fall is in the air.
It's a little warmer than I'd like in New York City.
But I guess I will take it before we are, our, our,
Back into winter again, it is officially October.
We have lots of great stuff to get into today.
Ultimate Girls Trip, Real Housewives of New York, Salt Lake City.
They're off to San Francisco on their St. Patrick's Day trip, which is totally a thing.
A little bit of news.
First of all, a little bit of housekeeping.
Earlier on the show this week, we had the lovely Antonia Hilton.
I had a great time chatting with her.
She is a host on MS Now, formerly known as MSNBC.
see. I feel like it's one of those things where it's like we still say Twitter instead of X,
but like it's MS now, which like Ms. Now, she's here.
But Antonio's super smart.
I love chatting with her about all things Housewives and beyond.
So go check it out if you haven't thus far.
Over the next couple weeks, we are going to be having some very fun guests, a couple of New York ladies coming through the studio,
some more stuff in the works.
So make sure you are subscribed, whether it's on Spotify or wherever you listen,
or on YouTube, YouTube.com slash at Bravo by Betches,
go, you know, hit that, whatever button they show you, hit it.
We have to talk about some news that has come out in the last 24 hours
that I am very intrigued by, a little uncertain about,
and that is that Peacock is developing a drama series
produced by Seth McFarlane starring Ariana Maddox.
our van der Pump girl, our Scandival Heroin, our Broadway star, our Love Island USA host is now potentially going to be starring in a scripted peacock series titled Future Housewives.
And this is the official logline.
I'm just going to read this as quoted in, you know, the trade publications.
In the decadent asteroid colony of New Beverly Hills,
wealthy socialites juggled bioengineered beauty regimens,
ruthless rivalries, and interplanetary scandals.
But when a young starry-eyed outsider unexpectedly upends their glamorous world,
it exposes just how far they've drifted out of touch
in a society evolving beyond superficiality
in this sharply satirical,
yet surprisingly heartfelt reinvention of reality TV.
oh my god it's like it feels like they are charging by the by the letter here that is a very
wordy description of a television show that does not exist yet oh my goodness okay so a lot to
unpack because there's the level of like does this show sound good and very much a question mark
to me i'm like so is this it's like futurerama but with housewives but but live action
but Seth McFarland
What does Seth McFarland know about housewives?
I don't, I, it's like a drama show from the creator of family guy,
feels like a little bit of a strange, whatever.
And then of course there's the level of Ariana Maddox.
I'm guessing this young starryite outsider who unexpectedly upends their glamorous world.
Ariana is a very talented woman.
she's done a lot of different types of projects in the last few years.
She's currently starring on Broadway in Just in Time, the Bobby Darren story or whatever it's called.
I think she can do whatever she puts her mind to.
Starring in a presumably like 42-minute episode drama series is a big ask?
I don't know.
You know what Ariana has been doing last year and is going to do again?
She guest stars on the NBC comedy St. Dennis Medical, which is actually a favorite of mine.
I think more people should be watching it.
And, you know, she comes on a few episodes of season.
She has her scenes.
She does a good job.
Starring in a show, maybe.
Now, this has been announced as being in development.
So that doesn't mean that it's officially happening.
I don't know that it's been greenlit yet to go into production.
Obviously, she's on Broadway right now,
so I imagine that if this was going to happen,
it would be like into next year sometime.
But it is, it's so interesting to see what, you know,
our breakout stars continue to focus their efforts on.
And more than anything, say a prayer for Shina Shea,
because, oh my God, you know, when this deadlock,
article hit her inbox.
I hope Summer Moon was wearing earplugs or something.
You know, it was, it cannot have been a pretty moment in, in Casa de Chena.
But congrats to Ariana.
I hope this goes, I mean, it would be fun to see.
I don't know.
In general, I feel like futuristic stuff kind of makes me a little nervous.
Not like, not like existentially, but like also that, I guess.
but I just feel like the aesthetic is really hard to get right.
And I'm like, is this going to, like, what it, like, it feels like new Beverly Hills.
It's, it's giving cheesy a little bit.
Like, you would need a lot of budget to make this feel really like high, you know, really
authentic and not just kind of like, oh, everybody's wearing like space age costumes.
I don't know.
We'll see.
We will see what happens.
Let's talk about Ultimate Girls trip.
It is the pen ultimate episode already.
I mean, these seasons are always quick on girls' trip.
I guess in my heart of hearts, I knew that, in my brain of brains, I don't know.
It's already almost the end.
We're headed to the Berkshires, and it looks like that is going to be a very fun finale.
The Rhode Island cast is going to be there.
Everybody's getting to know them, and it seems like it's not going well.
We're going to see Heather Gay back for another episode.
There's going to be Jersey girls.
There's going to be New York girls.
Everybody's going to be there.
It's going to be a great time, except if it's not.
But let's talk about this week's episode because we're in New York.
The snow is on the ground.
I am kind of like, did they have to film this in the dead of winter?
Because earlier in the season when they were leaving Atlanta to go to Miami, they were like,
this is the last flight we can get on before this blizzard.
coming. Now they're in New York. Portia has to get out of her car and walk and she's like trudging
through the snow. I just, you know, having lived in New York through this past winter, which was
probably one of the worst ones we've had, you know, since I've lived here, I just can so clearly,
like, sense the vibe through the television. And it's not like a fun party vibe. And add to that,
that they're having to basically pretend that it's Halloween on some random free.
night in January and put on these, you know, fuck-ass costumes and then go to this party that
does not look fun in the slightest. It's, it is kind of a bummer that for such a vibrant city
and such an important part of Housewives' legacy and history that the ultimate gross trip
stop in New York is just kind of like a fiasco. The gangster lunch was nice. Of course,
course, you know, Carol made us cry. You know, Derinda had her AI cardboard cut out, and that was
very nice to see. But this Halloween party is just dismal. Luan, whatever the opposite of doing
your big one, Luan did that. She, or didn't do that or did the wrong thing. It is kind of nuts
how much this does not look like a good time. Like, first of all, the,
The assortment of people, obviously there's some fun faces to see.
We, you know, we got reintroduced to Alex McCord last week.
Dolores is there.
You know, Carol comes.
Jill Zarin and Lori get to be judges for the talent competition.
It's just like, yeah, sure, why not?
Jill really does not get featured much in these episodes.
And, you know, maybe at the time she was okay with it because she thought she was going to have the golden life coming up soon.
but now she, like, is she even watching this?
She's, she's going to, like, tell her if she's like, she's like texting the girl.
She's like, you got to watch the ultimate girls trip.
I was there.
It was so much fun.
I got to judge the talent show.
It was an amazing time.
She's barely on the screen.
She must be so embarrassed.
And she should be.
She knows what she did.
No, but Kelly is there.
You know, Jessel and Erin and Sire there.
First of all, okay.
Jessel not knowing anything about her four mothers of New York Housewives, I don't think it's cute.
I don't think it's respectful.
I don't think it is classy in any way.
Last week we saw her, you know, dragging Dorinda for repeating a costume.
And I love that Durinda tells her this week.
You know, Jessel like comes back up to her and she's like, oh, I wasn't, you know, I didn't think I was just, you know, I, I, I, Jan is like,
Ramano wasn't happy with your comment about the costume.
And she's like, that's Derinda.
And so she goes back up to her and she's like, oh, I just didn't.
And Durin is like, yeah, because it's an iconic moment.
Iconic costume.
And she's right.
She is absolutely right.
It was iconic of her to rewear the NSL Andy Samberg costume, as she should.
And then similarly, when Kelly Ben-Simon is coming around with the platter of jelly beans,
And Jess is like, oh, what is, why are you passing out candy?
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And Kelly's like, it was a thing.
And Jessel thinks that she is like getting the upper hand by being like, oh, I don't know about that, honey.
Whatever.
And it's like, no, like to every single person watching this show, Kelly Benson on passing out jelly beans is more iconic than anything you've ever done.
And that includes thinking that Tribeca wasn't a real neighborhood.
it includes, you know, we'll get to it, you know, her behavior this season so far on Roney about popcorn ceilings and the Kennedy curse.
It just is like, know your place and like act like it.
Even on Lisa Barlow is the least humble person in the world.
And this season on Girls Trip, we have seen her knowing her place in a way that is a little shocking to see, but so correct in this environment.
And it's like, Jessel, girl, get it together.
Derinda doesn't even know who Aaron is.
I love the thing of like when you see someone in the costume and you're like, oh, who is, is that?
Oh.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
It's like using the excuse of like, I didn't even recognize you in the costume.
And it's like, I don't know that bitch.
I don't know her name.
It's like, oh, who is that in that brown wig?
And she's like, it's Aaron.
And it's like, oh, right.
of course, Aaron, my favorite.
It's like when you see somebody again,
and it's like, now, remind me how do you spell your name?
And by that, I mean, what the fuck is your name?
I don't remember.
I don't remember what I ate for breakfast today.
I didn't eat breakfast today.
And, you know, maybe that is why I'm feeling a little loosey-goosey right now in the afternoon.
Much to consider.
Teresa and her share costume, I love it.
Um, Giselle trying to avoid Luann like she has goodies, uh, just Luan.
We'll get to it.
But the mentalist performance.
Now, something about the phrase mentalist is so like over the top to me because it's like,
okay, you have a psychic, you have a magician, you have a fortune teller, whatever.
To me, like, those are like bread and butter.
Like, you could be a working magician.
You're a psychic, you have the crystal ball, you read palms, whatever.
That's a, that's a profession.
Mentalist to me is like, oh, you think you're bootleg Houdini to put it in Jessel's parlance.
You're like, you think you're going to be like Chris Angel Mind Freak showing me something I've never seen before.
Also, Simon Baker, The Mentalist, you know, CBS Thursday nights at nine or whatever.
I've never seen an episode of that show.
I'm sure, you know, that mentalist was a lovely guy.
But something, if I meet somebody and they're like, oh, yeah, I'm a mentalist.
I'm like, get the fuck out of here.
Get the behind me, Satan.
Like, I don't want that energy.
But the mentalist, he does some weird, like, mind trick with Teresa thinking of a person.
And then she's like, I, am I telling you?
Am I telling you?
You're telling, who's just a mess?
But then the trick of the night, the big finale is that Luan levitates off the table.
I was watching this.
I had to pause the episode because the image of Luan, just like Luan being Luan,
and she's in her pirate wench costume, dead serious being levitated.
off this platform while all the other housewives are just kind of like they're either not paying
attention straight up or they're watching and just kind of being like huh uh what are we what's going on
how much how many more minutes is this mentalist going to be up here talking to me and the mentalist
finishes up sure but then louan grabs the microphone and she has some sort of
book that she's reading out of and she's referencing the different, you know, women. And she's like,
oh, Vicki, I have two words for you. Life insurance. Uh, uh, Portia. Uh, Teresa. Teresa.
Giselle, um, you were my roommate for the first half of the, she is holding court.
She is fully in her own world. There could have been, there could be a hundred people in a room.
and just one. Luann up on that stage with the microphone.
She doesn't know what's going on.
The way they put the time elapsed on the screen of how long she has been talking,
it starts at 17 minutes.
Already I was like 17 minutes.
That is, I think people don't realize when you're giving a speech or when you're
like presenting or something, the time just draft.
If you're listening to someone talk, I feel like the sweet spot is like 90 seconds.
You want to have enough time to, you know, warm the crowd up, to make people feel comfortable,
to give a little laugh, to make a little, you know, to have a little fun moment.
And then you just bring it home.
You leave the people wanting more.
But it starts at 17 minutes.
That's the first time we get the counterclock.
22 minutes.
28 minutes. She's just speaking extemporaneously about God knows what. That is an unfathomable amount of time for somebody to just be like vamping on stage with no clear destination in sight. Just, I honestly can't imagine being in that room. And I, another thing that, you know, Giselle was complaining about at this party is like, there are just like,
kind of random people in the room. I noticed a few friendly faces. I know Christian Grace Snow was there
who has his podcast with Vicky. I think our page six friends were there. Like this was just like an
event that people were invited to. And Luanne is up there for 28 minutes babbling. Wild. I thought in the,
when they showed the preview for the season and she was like yelling at Portia about being late and
talking, I thought Luan was going to be doing like a cabaret performance. And at least that would
have made sense as like a piece of programming. Though I guess she kind of already did that,
you know, 17 years ago when we were in Beverly Hills and Kyle's backyard and she flew in like
Peter Pan. Just a lot of Luan theatrics over the course of this season. And that is really what
everybody is taking issue with in the group. Portia shows up. And while Luan is still holding
the microphone, she's calling out Porsche up multiple times for being late.
Portia tells her to sit her ass down and tries to take the microphone.
I love how Portia, Giselle, Vicky, are all just like so done with her ass in a way where they don't even, they have no interest in trying to be diplomatic about communicating how done with her ass they are.
It's kind of freeing.
It's kind of amazing.
And then the fact that the talent show has to come after 28 minutes of Luann talking, nobody wants to be doing this.
Not a single person except maybe Alex McCord because she lives so in her own world, by which I mean Australia, of course.
But she's in like a Raygun costume doing a dance with the Herman Munster shoes on her hands.
I don't know.
Alex McCord is just so delightfully wacky.
and she seems to have maintained that same aura for all of these years that she's been pursuing her Ph.D.
On the other side of the world.
And so that's nice for her, but truly everybody else is having a horrible time.
Portia does some kind of interpretive dance.
Lisa is rapping without a beat.
Teresa is blowing into the saxophone and can't make a sound until like the fifth try.
Teresa with the saxophone will never not kill me.
The one, um, the watch what happens live when she was on with, I think it was Lonnie Love and she was playing on the saxophone. I'm just like, what is going on? Vicki's talent show performance is just complaining about Luann, which at this point, sure. Um, it's just like, it's so funny. It's this whole event. It's like, it's the last event on earth that I would want to attend, but watching it on TV is just kind of,
perfection. It's so, it's like, true, like so bad, it's good. Um, but then after the talent show,
it's time for a group picture and Luann runs in at the last minute. It's like, oh, oh, oh, oh, I'm
to be in the front. I'm going to be in my pirate costume. I'm going to be in the front of the
picture. And Jaselle is like, no, get out of the front. And this is when Luann really
hones in on the word town in a way that I
I love the way she's calling it her town
she goes, it's my town, of course I'm going to be in the front of the picture, it's my
town, we're in my town, and
they're like, you've been in the front for every damn picture.
And Kyle and Lisa are like trying to actually talk to her about it.
You know, the others are a little more like, you know, as I said,
done with her ass at this point.
And they're like, you know, it just kind of feels like every time we take the picture, you want to be in the front of the picture.
And she's, yeah, I'm a showgirl.
Of course, I want to be in the front of the picture.
Luanne is, she's on one.
She is, she's really feeling it.
And I, it's so funny because the rest of the women leave the party.
They are like, how, which car can we get in?
how quick can we get out of here?
Once we're in the car, let me make sure it's a safe space for me to complain as much
I want.
Vicky is like, so there's no singing in the car, right?
It is so funny how Luan has completely eclipsed Vicky now as like the problem child
of this season of girls' trip.
Because remember, the first four episodes, five episodes, we were done with Vicki's ass.
And look, I'm not saying Vicky gets a free pass for everything.
that she has done this season. I still have a lot of issues with her commentary in Atlanta. I think
she just kind of like it's not that fun to have around as a person in general. But Luann has really
risen up and snatched the crown of like the most annoying person in the group, which is high bar
to clear. But then we cut to the next morning. And it is time to leave New York. It's time to head
head north to the Berkshires for the grand finale, and we get one of my favorite moments of this
entire season, which is Luann's FaceTime with Durinda, as the other women are waiting downstairs
in the limo to get on the road, and Luan is on FaceTime in a fedora and her rhinestone
sunglasses in this like sun-drenched hotel room, carrying on about how
Portia missed her levitating last night, and she was two hours late, and she can't believe the way that I was treated in my own tone.
My own tone!
They're new.
They're not an OG.
And I ever kind of like, when she's, like, complaining about the other women being new and not OGs, I'm kind of like, who are you talking about?
because the only like I'm like okay so Lisa Lisa's an OG
Gizel's an OG Vicki's an OG, Vicki's an OG, the only person on this cast I believe who's not an OG of their franchise would be Portia.
But maybe she means like I mean Salt Lake has only, but Lisa was being nice to her.
I really, I feel like she's talking about Giselle and
Portia, which is just at this point, like, Potomac has been on for 11 seasons. Roney got
rebooted. You, you got cut from the show. It's, I mean, like, I know that Luann's not, like,
thinking about this rationally of, like, who does and doesn't meet certain criteria for being,
like, a long-term housewife. But it just is, again, it doesn't reflect well on her. And,
man, she is just, she is a, a special.
flower. And when they, when she gets down to the car, we waste no time. Now, this is, I don't know
exactly where Bluestone Manor is. I haven't looked up the driving directions. But I would say it's got
to be at least, at least two, three hours. It's got to, it's a, it's not a quick drive.
And these women are going at it while they have not even left the island of Manhattan. They have,
they have a long drive ahead of them.
And immediately when Vicky gets, when Luan gets in the car,
Vicky is like, Luan, if you stand in front of me in a photo again, I'm going to deck you.
Like, okay, and go.
Off to the races.
Luan and Porsche start going at it.
And of course, Luan is still so hung up on Porsche being two hours late, which like, yeah, like,
all due respect, being two hours late to the party is,
Not great. I love that when Porsche has to get out of the car and walk the last however long to the party,
she's like, now, I'm running late and the ambulance in front of us isn't moving, so I have to walk the rest of the way so I'm not like really late.
And I'm like, I think two hours is to me, that's really late. Like you were really late. It's okay.
Just whatever. But she's like, I apologize right when I got there. I said I was sorry.
and you were on the microphone trying to embarrass me,
and I have been sparing your ass the whole trip
because you are obnoxious.
And this teased Luan up to ask one of the funniest questions.
She says, that's news to me.
I mean, look around.
Have I been obnoxious?
Every single person in that van is like,
has Luann
has Luan been
obnoxious?
Yeah, that's a
So the answer would be yes, but then
I mean, yeah.
It's like every
it's like yes!
The answer is yes.
The lack of, you know,
Portia calls out her self-awareness,
her lack of self-awareness,
her lack of accountability.
And Luan's like, oh, I am,
I am accountable and I'm sorry you feel that way. Portia, you know, rightly clocks that that's a
rough apology. But it is just like, the thing about Luann is that it's like, yeah, you're
obnoxious. Of course. Like, yeah, yes, yes, for sure. But in the words of Lisa Vrana,
just like, own it. Just freaking own it, baby. Be the obnoxious diva that you are.
are and like enough people love you that you can get away with it. But the fact that she is in
outer space enough to have no idea that she does this, she's going through her Instagram to find
examples of group photos that she hasn't stood in in the center of. And she's like, see, in this one,
I'm kind of off to the side. In this one, in this one, there's eight of us. So technically nobody's in
the center, so that doesn't count. And Vicki's like, in Miami, you literally sat on me. And she's like,
I didn't sit on you. It's like, you did. You in fact did. And then Lisa, Lisa Barlow, you were doing so
good. But she goes, no, it's okay. It's okay. We just like want to. And Portia's like,
don't enable her. Don't give her an inch. And Portia says something that I think is like so poetic.
She says, we have built a glamorous ass monster.
And now we got to, we got to make her see the light.
I don't think it's going to have, I don't think we have enough episodes left in the season.
I don't think Luan will be seeing any kind of light.
I've really enjoyed watching her antics.
But God, yeah, being in that, being in that car, it doesn't sound fun to me.
They've, they've had a lot of car time in the last two weeks.
I again another episode of girls trip that I have really enjoyed
this kind of like wakadoo mix of vibes
has somehow made a really entertaining season
and I'm bummed that it's going to be over soon
just because I you know girls trip has been in a state of flux for so long
and this season is obviously really special and big for the 20th anniversary
and I'm like are we ever going to do this again because it kind of I kind of like
it's kind of, this would be kind of hard to top.
Like what, you're just going to call Leah McSweeney and send her to Thailand again,
and we're going to pretend to care about that?
I was thinking about, like, different housewives, like, last week or something,
and remembering the Leah McSweeney era is so bizarre.
Like, I really forgot that happened.
It feels...
Feels weird that that happened.
Though she, the two seasons, and we loved her that one season, just strange.
I think she was at doing something.
I saw her at Fashion Week or something.
I didn't see her, but like I saw a picture.
Fashion Week is not really my.
No, but Girlstrip has been fun.
It's been good.
I'm happy with what we've gotten out of it.
I thank them for their service and we will see them next week for one last hurrah at Bluestone.

Okay, moving on, let's talk about Real Housewives of New York.
And I feel like this is a, I feel like this is an important occasion to Mark, because in my outline, I have two things.
I'm like Tyra Banks with the photos.
There are two photos in my hand.
Three beautiful ladies stand before me.
No, I have New York, and I have Salt Lake City, and I feel like my natural default is like, well, obviously we should do Salt Lake City first.
this week, I kind of think I have more questions, comments, and concerns, thoughts, and feelings about New York.
And, you know, both of these shows are early in the season.
We're four episodes into New York, three episodes into Salt Lake City.
I'm not saying that New York is, like, better than Salt Lake City this season or even this week.
I just am like, I watched New York and I was like,
interesting.
And I watched Salt Lake City and I had a good time.
I laughed.
I didn't cry this week, this week.
No, but I'm like, New York is,
she's very interesting to look at right now.
And we also pick up, importantly,
from a to be continued,
at Daisy's Seder,
at her parents' home in Brooklyn.
And this Sater is,
It feels long. There's a lot going on. There's a lot to discuss. We pick up where we have left off
with Erin bringing up the darkest time in Haley Glassman's life and, you know, saying she,
I might be boring, but at least I didn't break up a marriage with eight children. And this is
really touching a sensitive spot for Haley and things go downhill. Now, I can reveal.
Tuesday. I mentioned all. Haley Glassman will be on the couch opposite me. I had a lovely time with
Haley earlier this week. I'm excited for you all to hear that. So more to come. We talked a lot about
that whole situation. Erin, look, like, obviously if somebody is coming on a show and they have
something like this in their past, it's, I get why it's tempting. It's like, it's like,
sitting there inside the glass case and you're like you want to like break
glass in case of needing to be shady so bad.
You're like, oh, the homewrecker thing.
Oh, ooh, ooh, ooh, the tabloids.
But it's just, it feels like Aaron put it out there a little bit quick.
Because the boring thing, look, is it like a nice thing to say about somebody?
No.
But then, I mean, like you were just given a gift, you know, it's not that
of a deal in the grand
scheme of things. And
it turns out, you know, Haley
tells us that this
thing, the home
wrecking stuff, all the tabloids, is
a big, big, big thing
in her life. And
obviously there are
a certain context of that that Aaron
didn't fully have,
which isn't, you know, you don't
know what you don't know.
But like when
Haley is alluding to this
being the darkest time in her life and that she, you know, wasn't sure if she would make it,
those types of things. It's like, yeah, unfortunately now this is, this is, becomes touchier subject
to matter. And one thing that I don't love is when Haley's like, I don't want to talk about that.
That was a dark time in my life. And Aaron brings up a TikTok that I guess Haley had posted where she was
like, it was about being on magazine covers, like, these.
tabloids from back in that time. And she kind of uses this as a way to be like, oh, well, like,
you say you don't want to talk about this thing, then like, why are you making a TikTok about it?
And it kind of also reminds me of the way that people bring up to Carol, oh, you say you don't
want to talk about the Kennedys or, you know, the curse or love story or whatever, but like,
you talk about it all the time. And first of all, like, it's, you know, it's semantics a little bit
of like whether somebody is talking about something. But I, you know, I, you know, it's semantics a little bit of, like,
whether somebody is talking about something.
But I think there's a big difference between somebody bringing something up on their own terms
that is about their story and talking about it or referencing or even finding humor or lightness in it
on their own terms versus being on, you know, in a social group or in this case being in front of
television cameras and having somebody bring it up in a way that feels calculated, malicious,
you know, like a piece move on a chess board. And, you know, I think that goes for the way that
Jessel was, you know, bringing up the Kennedy stuff. I think that goes for the way that Aaron brought up
the, the John Gosselin stuff. That it's, it's just like, it's different when it's like, that's
only okay when I say it. Like I, if I want to bring up my past trauma,
and be like, LOL, let's make a TikTok,
that doesn't give everybody else permission to be like
throwing it in your face.
So I get where Haley's coming from.
I get where Carol's coming from.
And I think that Erin and Jessel,
they need to like recalibrate their approach to things a little bit.
Because I think so far this season,
it feels like the two of them are having the most trouble
with sort of like striking the right tone.
and the right, like, energy where you're having, like, drama within the group, but not coming
across just, like, kind of like a cold, heartless person.
I don't know, but Haley is really upset.
She leaves the house.
Cy goes to check on her on the sidewalk, eventually gets her to come back inside.
I do love, you know, we're at Daisy's parents' house.
They're somewhere, like, far out in Brooklyn.
And I love that when Haley goes outside, they're just, like, in somebody's front yard.
This is just a residential-ass street.
It's not like they're in, you know, brownstones and townhouses, Brooklyn.
It's like, no, it's like, that's like a car, a house with a driveway and somebody's car is parked out front.
Like, just like that visual was, I don't know, it just kind of made me happy.
But side gets her to come back inside.
Haley comes back in, and of course she's been crying a bit.
And Jessel's like, do you want like a sponge to down?
your, I have a spout if you want to like, dab your fix you or whatever. And Erica's like,
it looks perfect still. And Jassel's like, it does, it does. It does. It does. It does. It does.
See, that, that is the jessel that I actually think is really funny when she's like,
you want to fix your makeup. She's like, oh, no, no, no. It looks fine. I guess. You're,
you're good. Whatever. Um, but this cedar is not done because once we're past,
uh, Haley and Aaron for now, at least. Um, and once came, um, and once
Carol has told Daisy that the matzo ball soup needs some salt.
Then Carol brings up her issues with Jessel.
And, you know, and she kind of says what I was talking about, where she says, I'm not
offended about questions, but when you, it's not about clothes.
It's not about an aesthetic.
And I, she says she now has a little bit of resentment toward Jessel and she doesn't want
it to grow.
And she's like, yeah, like, I didn't think you were like, you know, I didn't think you
were like malicious, it just was kind of like dingbat vibes. God, Carol, the writer girl still has a way of
using her words. And she says in her confessional, that dingbat was one of the nicer things she could
have said. There's a certain charm to being a dingbat. And I kind of love that. I think Alexis
Bellino once got called a dingbat. You can be in good company as a dingbat, but of course,
I mean, Jessel's not loving that.
But then we move on from that to Daisy bringing up Jessel's comments about her popcorn ceilings.
And Jessel does, again, something that I don't love, where she denies that she was making fun of Daisy's apartment.
She's like, no, we were laughing together.
I thought, no.
And Daisy, you know, reveals that it's a rent-controlled apartment, and they pay like $300 a month in rent, which I truly, my head is, like, popping off.
Like, I'm like, I can't compute.
I can't, I cannot, my, I would be on vacation all of the time if my rent was $300.
You, you would never get another episode again.
Be grateful that my rent is as high as, like, oh my God.
But Cy says that she would want the rent control department.
And Daisy is like, you couldn't live without amenities.
And suddenly they're fighting.
And see, this is, this is some real New York shit.
that it's like rent control department
girl is fighting with like
pool in the building
full amenities girl
and they're each like
you couldn't live do what I do
and like I want what you do and that is like
it's so real Carol's eating popcorn in her confessional
Daisy says that size rent is
$25,000
and she's sort of implying that it's irresponsible
and I'm like yeah
$25,000
$25,000 a month
how big of an influencer is
Saida Silva?
Is she?
It's not Alex Earl.
I mean, I believe that
Sy has read a book, which is more than Alex can say.
But $25,000 a month.
Daisy says that Sae would rather live in a boutega bag
than fix her popcorn sealings.
I don't know.
Oh, no, no.
Cy says that Daisy has a shopping problem
and she would rather live in a bouttega bag than fix her popcorn sealings.
And then Sai says 12 times that she's happy, and we all believe her so much.
So, so, so much.
But then Erica kind of brings the Seder to a close by changing the subject and inviting
everyone to her private island.
And oh my God, I cannot wait to see this trip.
I want to see how dumpy this private island is.
Because, you know, these women are acting like they've been abandoned.
It's Lord of the Flies out here.
It is Mosquito Island.
Change the name, right?
Mosquito Island.
It should be like Erica Island.
Like if your husband's buying an island, he should name it after you.
No, but that's kind of tacky.
Honestly, owning an island is tacky.
Mm-mm.
I don't think you should do that.
Just pay for a fucking hotel.
Fly to a secluded spot and pay for the house for the week.
Owning an island sounds like so much work.
Because there's not going to be like an airport on the island.
Like, what, do you have to take a helicopter?
Are you taking like a ferry from another island?
That sounds like a lot.
Remember when, was it the Real House of the Potomac went to Nevis and they had to take like a boat to get there?
Like a, like hair blowing in the wind?
Just stay at a hotel.
It seems like too much work.
Carol is hosting a theater gala and Erica can't come because Anne invited her to The Devil Where's Prada premiere.
Hilarious.
I did see Verity this week.
It's a good time.
You guys, can't be and delicious.
But yeah, we see Cy with her aunt, and she's talking about, you know, her marriage and
stuff that she's going through.
And again, this is funny because it's like six minutes after she told us how happy she is.
No, everybody goes through stuff, though.
It's okay.
But she's talking about the moment that she realized that her marriage with David was, like,
coming to an end.
And it's because he took her out to a birthday dinner.
And she got her credit card bill.
and he put the birthday dinner on her credit card.
I'm like, does he have your credit card in his wallet?
Do you guys, is it not a joint?
I don't know.
I would love to know, like, the full,
how expensive was the dinner?
It's not, I mean, obviously they shouldn't be together.
Her mom didn't like him.
Then we get a scene of Haley and her mom,
which I thought was very interesting.
They do go bird watching on the advice of the they, them therapist.
though it's not the queer birdwatching group.
I'm like, your mom doesn't seem like good company.
And she's telling her mom that Aaron's a bully.
She's saying she reminds her of what everybody's done to her for the last two decades.
And the way, I clocked it before, you know, Haley said it directly.
But the way that Haley's mom talks about this tabloid homewrecker stuff as if she went through it equally that Haley did,
I already was like, wait, we, I.
what are you talking about? What's going on? She's like, yeah, it was so hard for us. Oh, we really went through it. Huh?
Your face wasn't on the magazine cover. You're not, when you're on Getty images, you're looking up Haley and she's not there, the mama.
But then Haley tells us in the confessional that she and her mom have had this like strained relationship the last 15 years because her mom was friends with John Gosselin.
We found out on Watch What Happens Live that Haley's dad did Kate Gosselin's tummy tuck in 2007.
I love the lore.
And so then they became like family friends.
And after they were separated, Haley's mom encouraged her, basically orchestrated her dating John.
And of course it's like, why would you want your 22 year old daughter who just came home from University of Indiana to be dating this like reality TV show, you know, bomb?
with eight kids and it's like, yeah, why would you want that?
Other than attention, financial gain, opportunities.
Like, it's weird.
And I think it seems like Haley is resentful of her for that and rightfully so.
And I don't know.
It seems maybe a little opportunistic that Haley's mom is around on this show.
and, you know, we're not seeing Haley's husband.
Just, like, strange, strange vibes.
But I want Haley to be, I want her to be good.
Now, this, we have to talk about this scene.
We get what I have been waiting for all season,
which is the Martha Stewart lunch at Serafina Meatpacking,
which I remember when they were filming this,
and I was like, they made Martha Stewart go to Serafina.
If you know, you know.
But we start, and it's Martha and her publicist,
and Daisy's not there yet,
and they're sitting, they're not just sitting outside.
They're not just sitting on the sidewalk.
They're sitting like, like up against the barrier that separates the, like,
civilian part of the sidewalk with the restaurant part of the sidewalk.
Like, they're, they're, like, out on display.
And I'm sure that they were sitting there so it's easier for the cameras to, like,
you know, get the shot and not be obstructed or, like, get in the way of other patrons
or whatever.
But I'm like, if I was Martha Stewart, I'd be like, I'm not sitting with my ass out
on, you know, Little West 12th Street so everybody walking by can be like, oh, there's Martha
Stewart.
I would request a little privacy.
Get her a private room.
But she's sitting there and Daisy's not there yet.
And one of the craziest moments is there's like a little boy and a mom walking past.
And Martha Stewart is like, you there.
He looks, she looks thirsty.
She looks thirsty.
Are you, you little boy, do you have some ice water?
Do you want some ice water?
and the mom's like, oh, yeah, he is thirsty.
He's like, oh, is this like, Stephen, oh, Stephen, take some water.
She says the wrong name.
She's saying she, it's a he.
Martha Stewart, I know Martha Stewart has, she has a daughter, I think.
Martha Stewart now interacting with a little kid, it's like an alien just came from outer space.
She's like, what could this thing want?
Get it some water.
Little boy, do you want some water?
Um, just hilarious and strange. And I am so glad that we have this weird extra layer of Roney this year that Martha Stewart just shows up for lunch with Daisy.
They're going through her calendar for the month of May. And Martha has like a large format paper calendar that I haven't seen since like an office depot in 2003. And Martha's like, well, you know, Daisy, I've got to go to Texas this day. And I really, I need you with me.
or this day is a day trip so you could do my makeup before I get on the plane.
I know Daisy, you know, has her own stuff going on, but it's like being Martha, I mean,
Martha Stewart is a hustler. She works and works and works. She's on, she's at the Olympics. She's on
TV. She's in every commercial. She's selling sheets at Kmart. Does Kmart still exist? I don't know.
But if it does, Martha Stewart's got a line there. That is a full-time job.
And, you know, being a housewife, you know, Daisy's going to be at Mosquito Island and she's going to be missing out on gigs.
Tough to balance.
I mean, working for Martha sounds like a lot.
The episode ends at Carol's gala thing that she's helping with.
Chloe 70s there.
I never thought I'd see her with a lower third on Roney.
You know, Aaron and Haley are kind of coexisting, which is nice.
Jennifer Tilly is there.
Well, Aaron and Haley, they seem to be coexisting.
first until they sit down at the table. And during this live auction, they are like hashing out
their issues. And Carol is telling them to be quiet over and over and over again. And they just,
they're kind of going at it like two like, you know, like rats in a box or whatever the
expression is. They can't, they can't help it. And they're kind, it's like a little bit playful,
but a little bit not.
And by the end, they're joking about, like, Aaron's smacking Haley's ass with the auction paddle.
Like, I don't think that they are going to be okay, but they right now have this dynamic where it's, like, just little glimpses of, oh, maybe this is fun shade, but also I think you two fucking hate each other.
And maybe that is still developing.
But very, a fun episode, an interesting episode.
This cast has a lot of, you know, intriguing dynamics.
I'm really excited to see them go on this trip, because I like when people, other people are suffering.
Not like for real, world peace, but like housewives staying in a dumpy house is kind of, that's the kind of suffering I like to see.
And Jessel tells Carol that she claps like a seal.
You know, she's like, Carol, you're sick loud with the clapping.
Your hands are just like, like, I love that.
That's the Jessel that I want.
Less of the Kennedy curse and more of the.
Kennedy curse and more of the like you call like a stale that's what I want from her okay rounding out
the day let's talk about Salt Lake City we are we're back from the from El Apreski with Lisa B
and we're getting ready for the San Francisco trip we start with some foreshadowing because
Lisa and Heather are shopping and they're like Heather's like oh that looks like an
Oscar dress are the Oscars this weekend Lisa's like I don't know but I got invited I
normally don't go.
Put a pin in that.
Mary is back.
We get a scene of Angie going over to her house.
She's not on the trip to San Francisco, which is a bummer.
Like, of course, of course I understand and she, you know, I get why she's not there.
But it's just like selfishly.
I'm like, I wish you were on the trip.
She looks beautiful.
Her hair looks perfect.
She's, you know, in this crisp outfit.
Her house, of course, is like, you know, impeccable.
Angie comes over and they're just like catching up a little bit
and I'm expecting this to be like a sort of like
somber-ish you know check in
and instead we end up talking about Ashley Kwai putting her husband's toothbrush in the toilet
we have strayed so far from God's light
no but while
Whitney and Bronwyn are hanging out with Kauai
and Bronwyn's getting to know her
a little bit more. And she's explaining a little bit of, um, you know, her energy at ski day.
And she's like, well, you know, I, um, I, uh, I, when I see red, I can act like Lisa. And you
don't want to piss me off. And Whitney is like, Whitney is like, that's the perfect antidote of why
you shouldn't piss quiet off. And I'm like, baby, anecdote. An anecdote. An anecdote. An anecdote is like a
story that explains is like an example of something.
That's the perfect anecdote of why you shouldn't.
It's anecdotal evidence.
Antidote is like when you get bitten by a snake and you have 12 minutes to inject the
antidote to like counteract the venom and live.
It's the perfect antidote of Quai.
Anyway.
I'm sorry.
But you know, Quai is kind of like she's dancing around.
this story about, you know, Whitney's like, can I tell Brown and this story about Ian Steven?
And she's like, no, no, no. Oh, my God. No. Meanwhile, over at Mary's house. And she's like,
did you hear that Kaui once put her fiance's toothbrush around the rim of the toilet?
I love it. This is a crazy story. And Mary, Mary does exactly what we need her to do, which is just
be absolutely flabbergasted. She's like, oh, oh, yuck, yucky, yuck, yuck, yuck.
Mary just like viscerally responding to something gross, I could watch for hours.
Because, yeah, it's gross, but like Mary is more gross.
She smells like hospital.
She's the OG of being grossed out.
And I love that about her.
But anyway, so at the ski day, we find out that Kwi, A, didn't like Angie calling her the new girl.
she, you know, didn't like that energy, thought Angie was above her, whatever.
And then she also didn't like Heather coming at Meredith and pointing her finger.
And so right off the bat, Kauai is sort of, you know, staking her flag that she is, you know, good friends with Lisa and Meredith and that she's like historical friends with Whitney.
But then, you know, as we get through this episode is already like not liking what she's getting from Whitney in the group.
but that she also has issues with Angie and Heather.
So just her second episode,
I don't want to make too early of a judgment on Quai.
Ashley, Quai, what are we calling her?
Like, you can't be quai, but then also sometimes be like,
hello, Ashley, like, we need one name.
You've only been in two episodes.
You don't get a second name.
Angie, okay, people have been pulling out
the screenshot of Angie with the giant like box on her bed
with the Grindr logo.
And the second I saw this, I was like, you guys, months ago,
Angie was named in the Grindr Unwrapped Awards,
which is a crazy name for whatever.
She was named Grinders 2025 Housewife of the Year.
Of course.
I got a press release about this.
I don't remember if I talked about it,
but I thought it was hilarious at the time.
And we see this box in her bed.
And so everybody's like, oh, is that Sean's?
Ha, ha, ha.
And I'm like, no, you guys, she won an award.
please.
And she posted on Instagram today with her
big grinder. It's a big statuette.
I'm like, they really, they splurged
on the award. That's nice of them.
Angie Kay, gay icon, it's
certified. She has the award to prove it.
Meanwhile, Meredith and Seth
they're talking and she's like, I just feel like you don't bring me
cappuccino in bed anymore.
She's focused on her DJ career.
He thinks that she's too,
she coddles the kids too much.
And she's like, I don't coddle them.
always just the president of Meredith Mark's Caviar and Reed is the creative director of a new
venture that I'm working on and Brooks is, you know, of course, involved in everything. And it's like,
I don't know if that's coddling. I think it's just like, you guys are a little too close. Like maybe,
look, if you have three kids, maybe you don't need to give all three of them a job. Maybe, maybe at least
one third of your children could find a job on their own, not working for you. Also, like,
What is being the president of Meredith Mark's Caviar?
Is that like a, is it, how many employees do they have?
So it's Meredith who's, is like, what is Meredith's title at Meredith Mark's Caviar?
She's like the chief Meredith officer, the CMO, the chief Meredith officer.
Chloe's the president.
Who else is there?
Some poor girls running the social media.
Like, I mean, I guess somebody's making the caviar.
and like packaging, but that's, I'm sure that's all outsourced.
I would love to see their org chart.
Like, how many employees do they have on LinkedIn?
I don't know.
Is it like a separate company?
Is it all like one umbrella?
I don't know.
And I don't think we ever will.
But they go to San Francisco.
Whitney has found out that she is 69% Irish.
Of course she is.
Brittany in the airport.
God, sweet Britney.
She is filming herself.
It's St. Patrick.
Day for context. She's filming herself going up to old people in the like airport push cart
wheelchairs pinching them. She's like, hi, are you Irish? What are you doing? Get, I don't, okay,
I don't want to be pinched by like, like, I would be annoyed if Britney was doing that to me and
we were like close friends. She's going up to strangers and recording. You can't do this.
This is, there are laws. There are codes. There are codes. There are.
societal norms.
That is the thing.
It's like, Britney doesn't know societal norms.
And that's the problem.
Meredith is like, you know,
Britney and I have real issues,
but also she's just fucking annoying.
And I think, you know,
I think that is a great reason to just like not like so.
It's like, if somebody annoys you,
you don't have to be friends with them.
Like, it would be, it would be weird
if Meredith came on this season of Housewives
and it's like, me and Brittany have made a lot of progress
in our friendship.
It's like, yeah, don't do that.
You don't like her.
But they get to San Francisco.
They're in the car on the way to the hotel.
And this is when...
So Bronwyn has just done the Oscars Red Carpet broadcast for E.
She's been doing some of the stuff.
She's great at it.
She's like a great fun personality.
And Heather is like,
oh, you, Lisa, you got invited.
Everybody's like, Lisa, you got invited to the Oscars.
She's like, well, yeah, like, I get invited like most years,
but I just like, I don't normally, I don't go.
And they're like, you get invited to the Oscars every year.
and you just have never go?
You, Lisa Barlow, chief name-dropping officer.
I'm giving everyone a C-suite title.
You, you who name-dropped being with Ben Affleck at the accountant to premiere
when there wasn't even a photo, you're getting an invite to the Oscars and declining.
She's like, yeah, well, some of you guys wouldn't know because I live a very different life.
But when you get invited to a lot of things, some things you just have to say no to.
It's like, yeah, I understand how, like, having a schedule is.
There is just, there is no earthly way that Lisa Barlow is getting invited to the Academy Awards
and not taking that opportunity ever.
I believe that Lisa Barlow has gotten invited to Oscar parties, even, even like, big ones.
I believe that she's getting invited to the, like,
Elton John Oscar party that, you know, Sutton is always at. Yeah, that's believable.
Kathy, she could be hanging out at like a, you know, direct TV, something with Kathy Hilton.
That's not the Oscars. There is just no way. She says, well, I was getting these invites before Housewives.
And Browman's like, okay, so I got the invite because of Housewives. Cool. Works for me.
It was a paid gig. It was interesting, though, seeing them talk about because of Housewives, like on camera.
That's an interesting fourth wall thing.
I feel like we don't really get very much.
But the rest of the episode is really about Kui, which I wasn't prepared for.
But at the hotel, Whitney, Heather, Angie, and Bronwyn are sort of comparing notes.
And Whitney is telling, you know, specifically Heather and Angie about how Kui kind of already has issues with them.
And that's when Angie brings up the toilet toothbrush story.
And she's like, well, I heard.
And Whitney's like, no, no, no, no, no.
I wasn't supposed to say, oh, God, you weren't supposed to know that.
And then I, now Heather knows, oh, no, no, no.
Oh, Whitney, you done, did it again.
I think she gets herself in this position every single time.
She's like not even drinking now, and she already got herself in a pickle.
But they go on this trolley ride and
Angie gets in a comment about Meredith's shiny doll hair wig,
which is just so funny.
The wig comments about Meredith are really tickling me this season so far.
But Angie has something else up her sleeve,
and that is individually wrapped toothbrushes for all of the ladies.
She works quick.
Let me tell you.
She says, oh, I heard an hour ago that Kauai was talking bad about me.
Let me go down to the hotel lobby and get nine toothbrushes.
Like, I have a stunt to pull.
And she goes, part of joining the group is learning that hygiene and safety is top priority.
It's like, yeah, okay.
But so now everybody knows this toothbrush story.
I will say, Kauai does a good job of kind of laughing this off.
I think she could have really like seen red and gone like nuclear.
are on Angie and I think it reflects well on her that she kind of is like, yeah, so what?
I bought him a new toothbrush. It happens. Shit happens. Shit happens. Sometimes on a toothbrush.
But Angie then calls out Kauai for talking about her and taking Lisa's side. And Lisa's like,
why shouldn't she take my side? She loves me. And then the other thing that Whitney told them
is that Kauai called Heather diabolical. And so Angie brings this up.
She goes, you called Heather Diabolical and Kauai denies it.
This is tricky because what did Kauai actually say in that, why were they at a biker bar?
In the biker bar, she said that Heather seemed like Diablo.
That's the word she is.
And she says in her confessional that she's referencing the Taco Bell sauce.
Now, my preferred taco bell sauce is hot.
They have the mild, hot, fire Diablo.
I find that hot is the right.
balance of like flavorful, but it's not even that the hot and the diablo, the fire and the
diablo are too spicy. It's that I don't think they taste good. And I also think they run through you
like lava. And I find that the mild and the hot have like more of a flavor, I don't know, TMI.
But if that's what she was actually meaning, that's a little different than diabolical.
And so Whitney then has to be like, oh, yeah, I'm sorry if you didn't actually say diabolical, but, uh, uh, again, Whitney stepped in it.
But then everybody's, it's hectic, everybody's heated, whatever. And in the midst of this,
Kwi does yell at Bronwyn to shut the fuck up. And Bronman doesn't like this, as anybody probably wouldn't.
And she specifically is like, well, I don't like that you've been here for seven minutes. And now you're telling me to shut the fuck up.
So I think we really, she says they need a difference of tone, which is just such a beautiful way to put that for being like, don't you don't speak to me like that. We need a difference of tone here. But yeah, Kwai is really upset. They're getting, they're getting to dinner. This is where we cut things off. They've gotten off the trolley and Quai is sobbing. Lisa and Meredith go to comfort her and she tells Whitney to basically go away because she thought Whitney was going to be her girl this season and she immediately feels let down by her. And I believe that Quayette's, I believe that Quentin's,
and Whitney had some kind of, you know, relationship prior to her joining the show,
but it does seem pretty clear that she was brought on here to be, like, allies to Lisa and Meredith.
So I'm not surprised that this is happening in just her second episode on the show.
Fun episode of Salt Lake, I'm excited to dig more into this San Francisco trip and really, like,
keep settling in with the season.
But that is where we are going to end this week.
Like I said, exciting stuff coming on the show.
make sure you're subscribed. Haley Glassman coming out on Tuesday.
We're going to mention it all.
Have a great weekend.
I hope everybody is doing great.
And until next time, be cool.
Don't be all like uncool.
