everyone. Welcome back to the Venture Adol podcast. I am thrilled to be joined today by one of our Salt Lake City
OGs. They are having an amazing sixth season. And now after BravoCon, it feels like there is more momentum on Salt Lake City than ever. So Meredith Marks,
welcome back to the show. How are you doing? Hi, I'm doing great. How are you? I'm good. I was so glad to see you and your whole cast looking great in Vegas a couple weeks ago.
And I just have to say, the reception for your cast specifically at BravoCon was off the charts this year.
People were so excited to see you there.
I'm so curious, can you feel that that people are just so excited to see the Salt Lake cast in person?
Yeah.
I mean, I think people are excited to see everybody.
Let's call it what it is.
You know, it's just, it's fun overall to see everyone there.
But, you know, it took a moment for us to get a little moment.
and some going and to be appreciated a little bit more. And, you know, we're there. We're definitely
there. Totally. I think, you know, taking a year off of Bravo Khan and then having everyone back,
and I think especially with you guys, your season is in full swing right now, it just feels like
there is so much energy around your show. And I think, I think people, people know that there's,
like, something special going on with Salt Lake. And I wonder for you, like, what do you feel like
is kind of that special sauce that you guys have as a group that's been able to keep things
so strong and so consistent? As a cast, I think we have just a very wide range. And because of that,
there's always going to be inherent conflict. We all just view the world very differently.
And our take on things is very different. So, I mean, mine is definitely very different. You know,
I didn't grow up in Utah and I grew up in a kind of a different culture, you know,
And most of the women did grow up there.
And it is different than growing up in Chicago, you know, two different things.
Yeah, I think it's been cool to see your cast over the years and this group of women kind of show up for each other's, you know, projects and things that are important to them in different ways.
I still think about the episode last season with your bat mitzvah, which I think is one of the highs of the show as a whole.
And it was it was great to watch.
Obviously, there was drama and high body count hair and all of that, which was exciting.
But then also that moment, how meaningful it was to you and your family and your community.
Having all of those pieces together, I think, is so, it makes it more special to watch.
Yeah.
I mean, Salt Lake definitely has a very different religious element to it than any other show that I'm aware of.
You know, because it is a strong element in Utah.
and I am a bit of a fish out of water in that, you know, vein.
And my kids were in school even.
And, you know, Park City tends to be a bit more religiously diverse than the rest of Utah.
But it is still very predominantly Mormon.
Yeah, I think, you know, also, of course, religion is a major part of Mary's life, too.
And on, you know, the most recent episode watching, all of you guys come together for the reopening of her church.
that scene was just like so impactful.
And I think the way that you were all able to put aside, you know,
whatever stuff you're going through with the group and everything,
and just have that genuine moment of support and connection.
What was it like kind of being there for that?
You know, I think it was a very big deal for Mary
because she had been closed for, I don't know, two, three years,
whatever the time frame was.
It had been quite some time.
So I think it was just very important to her.
and I think she wanted to have everyone there supporting her.
And, you know, a lot of the women had not been there or even the ones who had, like me and some of the others,
it had obviously been quite a while since we had been there.
And so I think it was just meaningful for her to have friends there to support and, you know, what she's doing.
Yeah, I think especially, you know, coming out of the yacht trip that you guys went on in Canawan, like,
obviously you you weren't necessarily on like the best foot with everyone in the group but
sometimes there are those moments where it's like that can be we can we can put that aside
for for however long and sort of focus on the things that maybe matter more in someone's life
yeah I mean it was weird to me that like some of the women thought that Lisa and I wouldn't
show up that was just strange like yeah why wouldn't I show up like it made no sense so
whatever it feels like over the course of the
show, like obviously there have been certain situations where you, you know, weren't interested in
engaging or wanted to, you know, kind of, you know, step out of certain dynamics. But I, I feel like
you've kind of made it work for you in a really unique way, kind of where it feels like you kind of,
you know exactly how much you need to sort of be involved in different situations, but you,
you, you kind of, I don't know, you, you always kind of have your own way of, of handling things.
How do you feel like you approach all the conflict and stuff, knowing that maybe, you know, in a different timeline two or three seasons ago, you could have disengaged your way out of the group, you know?
It's a bit complicated because the messages from the group are very mixed, you know.
In one moment, they'll make fun of me for walking away to cool down.
And in the next moment, they're upset that I engage.
So, you know, it's like talk, don't talk, you know.
And it's, it can be a lot because I sort of.
have a different, the way I am treated is a little bit different than other people.
You know, if I get upset about something, oh, that's not okay.
But when they're upset, it's just fine.
Yeah, I think like the dynamic this season is interesting because it does feel like,
obviously you and Brittany are having, you know, a specific thing that you're working through,
but kind of the overall, maybe with more of the OG ladies in the group,
it does feel like there's this vibe where, you know, Lisa kind of is on the receiving end of a lot of accusations and suspicions.
And obviously you and Lisa have a very, you know, layered history.
And I think that that's something that any, anytime something's happening with Lisa and the group, obviously, you're going to have the thought of like, do I really want to wade all the way into this and kind of have the bigger repercussions there?
You know, it's interesting because everyone's like, well, how can you support Lisa without having.
the proof that she didn't do these things.
And I'll tell you it's very simple.
Because I have been wrongfully accused of the same exact things by the same women over and over again.
So until I do have the proof that she did it, I'm not real interested.
Yeah, it's like Meredith Parks is an attorney.
She's innocent until proven guilty.
Correct.
Correct.
And they have failed every time.
I mean, this is another year of the same sort of false accusations against me.
against Lisa and every single time they fail to, you know, come forward with something that proves it to be true.
Yeah, and I think it's also, there's an interesting thing when you're on a show like this where, like, if, if you're in the room when something gets brought up, like, for example, when Whitney and Heather kind of pulled you into the conversation about what was happening, you know, with Lisa on the yacht, like suddenly it feels like they're expecting you to sort of take the baton from there and be the leader of the charge.
And you're like, I was there for the conversation, but that doesn't mean I'm, you know,
taking over the mantle of everything that this means.
Well, there's a lot of, oh, let me tell you what's going on so you can do the dirty work for me.
And that wasn't going to happen because I'm just not interested in it.
Like, do your own dirty work.
I, you know, I'm not, I'm not interested.
I don't believe that what you're saying is true.
Everybody knows.
I said it to Whitney last year when she brought.
up that Lisa was leaking stuff or whatever she was saying.
I said, look, you have to have the proof.
And she was unable to come up with it.
So, you know, I just, I've been through,
I've been on the receiving end of it too many times
where I'm just, I'm not joining in on some sort of like group takedown.
It's not, it's not of interest to me.
I'm not interested in anybody being taken down.
That's not, to me, what this is about.
I think it would be much more interested.
to see us building each other up, supporting each other.
Yes, of course, having conflicts.
That's inherent that will always happen.
But these, you know, take downs are a lot, you know.
And I hold back things that I think could be that damaging all the time.
You know, it's just part of, in my view, I don't do those things.
But maybe I should change it.
Who knows?
I think it's a slippery slope on a show like this when you,
you get into a place where it does feel like everybody's united against one person. I mean,
maybe something similar happened to that with Monica a couple of seasons ago, but it turned out
to be true and it was, you know, I think warranted in that moment. Whereas if it feels like
every season is turning into, okay, let's all team up to get this person out, let's all team
up to go after this person like that, you're never going to kind of build that group dynamic
that I think is what people genuinely enjoy so much about your show.
Yeah, I mean, in retrospect with Monica, I think that there was a little bit more to it than what we were all aware of at the time.
And I say that just because, you know, last year there were things that were definitively leaked out and exposed that people chose to turn a blind eye to, blind eye to when it was their closer friend.
So I think there's a little more to the whole Monica thing.
Interesting.
You know, it's a long, life is long and who knows.
Everybody could come back at some point.
We never know.
We never know.

I do want to talk a little bit about
on the yacht
trip when when Brittany brought up the you know I don't even want to say rumor because that implies that
there's some you know something to it but what she had seen or heard or something about your marriage
watching it I just was like how did she think that was gonna go because it seemed she seemed so
unprepared for the reaction and having watched six seasons of this show I'm like what other
reaction could there possibly have been you know um I have been um I have been
honest about my marital struggles since season one, unlike some of the other women who have not.
And if there was something going on, I would talk about it, you know?
That's something to me that is very normal.
People go through marital struggles, and I think that it's nice for the viewers to see that,
the audience to see that, because it's, you know, it makes you feel like, oh, it's okay.
So, but while I was actually forthcoming about problems at the beginning, then as things have been good, every single year, someone is going after my marriage anyway.
And I just think it's gross. It's like it's enough. But, you know, I mean, her stupid little TikTok was just a piece of the pie there, you know, I mean, whatever. It was, it was absurd. I couldn't find the TikTok. 20 people had like.
liked it up. By the time we aired, I pulled it up because eventually someone did send it to me
and it had 25 likes on it. So, and it was after like five minutes of other gossip. So maybe Brittany
needs to get a little more something going on in her life. So she's not fixated on me and, you know,
Jared and other things. I don't know. God, that was at the moment at your cast panel at BravoCon when
Jared was sitting front and center, which by the way, is not where all of the husbands and families and
everyone was sitting for that panel. I think Seth was sitting like behind me off to the side somewhere.
It was, it was like such a strange moment because then 4,000 people are booing Jared Osmond.
It's like, what is the, what's the goal of this?
Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I'm not, you know, look, I don't, obviously, I'm not really in touch
with Brittany, so I have no idea what's going on between the two of them or why he would even have
shown up there if they're not together or what, you know, I can't speak to any of that because I,
I don't understand it at any level. The whole thing makes no sense to me. I do, I'm curious
kind of where you're, where you're at with the whole conversation about the flight home from that
trip right now. Obviously, you very much strongly disagreed with the way that it was described by
some of the other women in the cast.
Do you feel like there will ever be clarity about that?
Or is it just kind of like she said, she said, we'll never know.
Maybe.
I think maybe somebody will come clean at reunion.
I don't know.
We'll see what happens.
You know, it's just, it's difficult because there's already a lot of contradictions.
Like, were you sleeping?
Or did you hear this gone for four hours?
Like, come on.
It makes no sense.
And quite frankly,
Like, then I, and to be totally transparent, I watched that episode this morning in full for the first time.
I had seen clips of it.
But I didn't want to go into BravoCon agitated.
I wanted to, like, be in a good space.
So I had only seen pieces of it up until this morning.
And like when I was watching it, and Brittany was saying to Heather, well, you know,
Meredith was shaking my seat when she got up to go to the bathroom and then started yelling,
this is, this is her or whatever, to Lisa and blah, blah, blah.
And then Heather's like, yeah, and that's where I woke up.
I'm thinking, okay, wait a second.
These are even, but this is even worse than what I thought,
because the only reason I touched Brittany's seat at that moment was because Lisa was sleeping and I had to climb over her.
So I wouldn't have been screaming, this is her to Lisa.
And Heather was dead asleep until the last 20 to 30 minutes of the flight.
That was in the middle of the flight that I got up to use the restroom.
So it's like, whoa, wait a minute.
like nothing adds up here.
But the reality of the matter is, look, did I say things on that flight about Britney?
100% I did.
Did I say things about a lot of other stuff?
Absolutely.
A portion of the conversation was about Brittany and a portion of it was about other things as well that I was irritated by.
Quite frankly, the large majority was not about the TikTok.
And everything I said about Brittany, I had already said to her face.
There was nothing new.
There was nothing, no physical contact whatsoever.
And I mean, I wouldn't touch that hair.
Come on.
So do you know or do you remember what movie or movies you watched on that flight?
I watched Crazy Rich Asians and then I put something else on.
I don't recollect what it was because that was the one I sort of was napping during.
And, you know, I was sort of half on my phone halfway watching the movies as I do.
I don't really get that engaged in most of the movies.
Amazing.
That was what I was wondering, watching the episode.
I was like, what does Meredith Marks put on when she sits down for that flight home?
I mean, you know, like I said, I had two movies on.
I dozed off for a little while myself as well.
Lisa was sleeping part of the time too. That's why I had to climb over her, you know.
Okay, moving on a little bit. I do want to talk about you have truly so much going on in your life,
in your businesses. You've been an entrepreneur since long before you were on Housewives.
But I think some of the projects you have pursued and some of the things you've focused on in the last few years are so fascinating.
Obviously, you have the jewelry, the caviar, the DJ career. I think.
is something that people have really been loving this year. Can you just walk, walk me back a little bit
how that got started and what you are sort of taking out of that and having fun with it?
Yeah, I mean, the DJ thing is, it's like the most fun thing I've ever done. You know,
it's having a party and you don't have to do the heavy lifting. But it started really just,
I was fooling around with it. And then I was asked to DJ for pride. And,
it was insane. It was fabulous. It was so fun and everything kind of exploded from there. Then
people were like knocking on my door and I had no idea it would go there at least not that quickly too.
So we've been, you know, I've been on tour now. I'm on a little bit of a break from tour. I'd
BravoCon and I just got back from a little mini vacation in St. Barts and now we have Thanksgiving, etc.
So in a few weeks, I'll start back up again.
And we've been fully sold out everywhere, except we have what we just added one show in New York on the 14th.
So we just added that like in the last couple days.
So we still have tickets to that one.
But everything else is sold out.
And then we're adding on new dates for January and February as well.
I am obsessed with it.
I was at your 9.30 a.m. DJ set on the first day of BravoCon.
And I have to say, watching, you know,
You were up there and Andy came out for a minute.
Seth came out for a minute.
The experience of looking around at a 9.30 a.m.
DJ Meredith Mark's set.
It's one of those moments where you're kind of like,
what is my life?
Like, where am I?
It's just like, I think the whole like experience of BravoCon kind of feels like that.
But specifically, like, I feel like there's this like fun but seriousness that you bring to kind of everything you do
that is just like such a, it's such a specific vibe that people really just connect with.
Well, thank you. I mean, I am actually a very light person. I know it doesn't always come off
that way. But I love to just have a good time. I don't take most things too seriously.
You know, there are a small number of things that I do take very seriously, but not many.
And, you know, it's just, it's fun. And having Andy come out and I didn't know he was.
coming out. That was a surprise. So that was like amazing. I had no idea that was coming. And it's just,
you know, everyone's so supportive. It's been really great. Yeah. And I think, you know,
this season, you know, it's so fun to watch the show, but then like seeing kind of the, you know,
the side quests and other projects that people have going on. It, it makes it a really like 360
experience of being like a housewives of Salt Lake City fan that it's like, oh, and then I can go
see Meredith, like, at the club later.
Like, it's just everybody loves, I think, kind of all the stuff that you guys all have
going on.
Well, I mean, I hope so.

Obviously, Brooks now is, you know, a Bravo Leopardy in his own right. It was really fun seeing
your whole family really on the first season of that show and then seeing them at BravoCon.
What has it been like kind of obviously he had been on Housewives with you, you know, a bunch in
the past, but kind of like having him go through his own experience with that now and then like
how has that kind of, you know, shifted or added to your relationship?
It's been incredible. I mean, obviously what's nice is he really understands the other side of the coin now. You know, it's very different when you're like a family member of someone on the show versus really being on it yourself. And, you know, of course, he did get a lot of attention that first season. So he had a little bit of a flavor of it, but not really. And so now I think he really understood.
understands, you know, what I do and everything about that side of it. But more importantly,
I was just so proud to see them and see what they could do. And, you know, Brooks and Chloe,
and they really did a great job. It's, you know, it's intense. There's a lot going on. They deal
with some very heavy issues. And I thought they did a really great job. And not just Brooks and
Chloe. The cast as a whole. They are a really great group. And I,
feel very fortunate that I was able to be a part of that and that I was able to, you know,
guide and help not just Brooks and Chloe, but most of them. Yeah, I think it's, you know,
whenever there's a new show or a new cast or something, it always is a little bit of a wait
and see of how it's received and whether, whether it really, you know, lands. And I think people
had questions about Salt Lake City back in the day when it was announced of like, what is that,
where is that? Do people care? What will this be? And I think it's, it's exciting when something, you know,
premieres and gets that positive response.
And it's like, okay, this actually has real potential.
It's not just a flash in the pan.
And it definitely seems like with NextGen,
there's that kind of excitement for season two, certainly.
Yeah, I think, I mean, I think season two is going to be fabulous.
I don't know all that much about it,
but we heard a lot of little bits and pieces throughout BravoCon.
And I think it's going to be great.
They're really a phenomenal group.
and they all have like a very interesting lives and backgrounds and, you know, stories to share.
Totally. Back to Salt Lake City for a second. I know you guys have reunion coming up for season six.
Just I'm always curious going into reunion. What is your kind of like, do you have a mantra?
Do you try and go in with a specific intention? Are you excited for reunion? How do you kind of approach that process year after year?
I think it's different every year. I think there have been years.
where I've been like, oh my gosh, they've been lying.
I need to go prepare and pull receipts and this, that, and the other.
And then there are times where I just am like, you know what,
I don't really need to work that hard.
I just have to tell the truth.
And, you know, everything comes to light.
So I think it depends a little bit about what's going on.
I'm never the one who's coming to reunion, trying to be like,
I'm exposing this person.
So those aren't the kinds of receipts I would have.
be organizing. That's, you know, what other people do. Not my MO, but like I said, who knows,
maybe it'll change. Totally. Maybe it needs to change, you know. I feel like, I feel like it's either
you're the one doing it or you're the one receiving it. So maybe that's the only way I can flip the
script. I have no idea. Maybe. I mean, I do think, though, it's like, I, I appreciate that you are,
when somebody brings it to you, you're going to handle it, but not necessarily you're the one, like,
showing up with the folder full of papers.
Yeah, that's not really my thing.
I mean, maybe I'd sometimes take notes, stuff like that.
But I don't know.
I know everybody else loves the whole receipts thing.
I just kind of, I don't know why.
It kind of just rubs me the wrong way.
Yes, if you need to do it, absolutely.
But if it's, you know, not necessary, I mean, just, it's not my thing.
Well, I think it's like, it feels like you have a healthy attitude of, like,
focusing on yourself and your relationships and what you need out of this group and that like maybe
if if something has gotten to the point of receipts and, you know, evidence and all of that,
maybe that person is just like not meant to be in your life anymore.
That's probably pretty fair, you know.
That is true.
I am very focused on my own stuff.
You know, I'm not that focused on what the next person's doing.
Sure, of course, if something's wrong and they need support.
I'm happy to be there.
If something's good, I'm happy to cheer for them, you know.
But in terms of looking for what's going on, I'm consumed with my interactions with people
and how they treat me and my own relationships within my own family and my own businesses.
I'm not really looking to find stuff to, like, destroy anyone else.
It's just, it's not very interesting to me.
Totally.
Okay, before we finish up, I have to ask, we just found out in the last week or so,
that Jen Shaw, one of our Salt Lake City OGs, will be out and presumably available pretty soon.
I know that you've had some contact with her in the last few years, but do you, how do you kind of envision, you know, what's next for her and the group?
I don't know, you know.
She did call me.
I did have one call with her over the last few years.
it was very brief.
It's, you know, a timed, 10-minute call on a government-recorded line.
It was, you know, just very short and not very serious about anything.
But it's, you know, she has to make choices for herself of how she wants to proceed now.
You know, she obviously has now almost finished serving her time.
And I'm told that, you know, Sharif has been working on starting to pay some of the rest of
restitution. And so, you know, she's clearly doing her best to write her wrongs on that side of the
coin. And it's up to her to see what she wants to do on the other side of the coin and how she can
try to fix, you know, her missteps elsewhere. And that's, that's not, you know, I have nothing
to do with it. That's on her to make her own choices. And we'll see, you know, I, I hope for the
best. I'm always looking for the best for everybody, you know,
Even Brittany.
Whatever that looks like for Britney, I hope for it, you know.
I'm curious, we're right at the end of the year here.
Any 2026 resolutions, intentions, things we're hoping to accomplish in the new year?
Yeah, I think that I am done allowing.
anyone to get me to be reactive.
You know, that's my resolution.
I'm, I don't care about most of this stuff, like some dumb TikTok.
No, I don't care about that.
Yes, there are deeper issues that I do care about, of course.
But even those, there's no reason to be reactive, you know?
It's just why, you know, I'm not letting anyone get to me.
That's my resolution.
I know my truth, I know who I am, I know what I do, and I also know that, you know, karma comes back.
So if you're trying to get a reaction out of me, that will be served in your own karma.
I don't need to give you the reaction to actually give you what you're looking for, you know,
and to try to like say, hey, stop, karma will do it.
It always has, you know, I've never really been worried.
I've never really been very reactive, but there's a lot of poking that goes on.
And eventually, you know, when you're provoked and provoked and provoked and provoked,
you'll react.
I think that's a good intention for the New Year.
And Meredith, thanks so much.
It's always a pleasure.
That's your pleasure chatting with you.
Thank you so much and hope to see you soon.
You too.
Happy holidays, too.
Happy holidays.
Thanks so much for watching, listening.
Don't forget to rate, review, and follow the show wherever you listen.
And until next time, be cool.
Don't be all like uncool.
