Hey everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention It All podcast and thanks so much for tuning into another Friday episode.
I'm recording this a little bit in advance because I'm on vacation this week.
So our schedule is a little bit different for the day, but we are still going to have a rock in good time.
Thankfully, thanks to, I was going to say the Bravo gods, but it's the Bravo PR girls.
They're doing the Lord's work.
I have been able to watch this week's episode of Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
So we are going to recap that and, you know, phase two of the Kelsey versus Rosie World War that's a Bruin.
And then I am going to take some of your listener questions and do a little bit of a mention at all mailbag.
So we are going to have a fun time this episode.
If you have not subscribed to our YouTube channel,
YouTube.com slash at Bravo by Betches.
Go and do that right now.
We had Rosie, the woman of the hour,
Rosemary Woods herself.
She was on Tuesday's episode.
So go watch that, listen to that if you have it.
If you want to hear more about slam pigs and lots of other stuff,
go listen to that.
We have on next Tuesday's episode, Garcel Bouvet, on the show.
She has a new audio memoir.
that came out through Audible that I listened to and really enjoyed.
And we got all into it talking about Beverly Hills, Sutton, dating, work, life, motherhood, lots of different stuff.
I had a great time talking to Garcel, just like a very, very, like, fun conversation.
So I'm excited for you guys to hear that.
And then next week, next week we have something very exciting coming.
I talked about it last week.
We are doing Mention It All, Island Time for this season of Love Island USA.
me and Chris Burns are going to be in the studio every week talking about all of those episodes of Love Island USA.
Hopefully it's a crazy season.
I can't wait.
It's going to be right here on the Mention It All feed if you're listening or watching as a podcast.
It's also going to be on our YouTube channel, YouTube.com slash at Bravo by Betches.
So the same place you get your mention at all.
We're sending it to Island Time.
We're going to have a fun time for the next seven, eight weeks.
It's a whirlwind.
It's going to be a busy summer.
I'm so excited to get into it all.
And let's kick off with real housewives of Rhode Island.
Now, when we last left our girls in Rhode Island, things weren't so good.
We were having sirens going off, slam pig being yelled, doors being slammed,
pageant allegations being thrown.
And we pick up right where we left off.
And actually, this, okay, this episode is less like crazy town than last week's, you know,
slam pig battle of the century.
But the time frame of this episode and the way that it is laid out before us is actually
kind of wild because we pick up directly with Kelsey leaving Rosie's house.
Rosie's going to sage the room.
She's sorry for the traumatic images that Clemmy has had to see.
All in this same day of the Kelsey and Rosie slam pig fight, we then have Kelsey calling
Liz in the car, Ashley and Jared at Costco where Rosie calls Ashley and fills her in, Alicia and Rula at the beach, and then a couple's dinner where we know it's the same day because Joe Ellen's literally like, so what happened this afternoon? And when I was watching this and I heard Joe Ellen say that, I literally, I had to stop and go back because I was like, wait, wait, sorry, all of this has happened on one day.
Do they have a time turner?
Rhode Island is crazy.
We have this Liz and Jerry, Jo Ellen and Gary, Kelsey and Bill, triple date.
And all of this has happened on the same damn day.
My head is spinning.
It's a lot to keep track.
But we're going to go back a little bit.
Because Kelsey calls Liz, and it's so funny.
I don't know, it made me laugh.
When Liz picks up the phone and she just goes, how'd the haircut go?
I'm like, I forgot the haircut was even the point of her being there.
She never, the tools never came out of the bag.
There was no haircut to be.
Does Rosie, like, now does Rosie have to, like, go get a haircut?
Because that's, for me, and I know it's different for different people, you know, men, women, whoever.
Like, if Rosie wanted a haircut and Kelsey was going to do it, now she has to go call somebody
else. If I want a haircut and it doesn't happen, I still need a haircut. So that's stress. I want to see who
is cutting Rosie's hair. Cast her on next season. But Kelsey, Kelsey's like, it's so crazy that she's
saying I fuck married men and suck dick for a living and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Because I've
literally slept with six guys in my entire life. And you fuck the basketball coach. And now I'm the
hoe. I'm like, sorry. A lot going on. First of all. First of. First of,
of all. So Kelsey's slept with six guys in her entire life. And she's dated two of them during this
season. Life moves pretty fast. Good for her. No, but she, so she's throwing out that Kelsey is saying
that Rosie has slept with two married men that she knows of. First of is this guy that she worked
with who she ruined his marriage. Kelsey has brought this up before. And then now she's also
saying that there's a basketball coach who paid Rosie off to not talk about.
it and that is how she has bought this beautiful house.
A basketball coach.
I feel like people know about, like, there's been a lot of, like, digging about Real Houseways of Rhode Island.
And I have tried to kind of tow the line of, like, you know, I'm interested to know, like, is Dino, what's Dino doing?
But I also kind of just want to watch the show.
And I'm like, God, now I'm, now there's going to be another Reddit threat about the basketball coach.
And I did laugh at when she said she's going to Venmo charge Rosie for the gas to drive to her house.
I'm like, just send it to production.
You know, just send that one to NBCU.
But Ashley and Jared are planning a trivia event at Audrey's.
That's cute.
But now it's become complicated because Rosie calls Ashley and she's like,
I don't want to go to this thing if Kelsey is going to be there.
And, you know, I won't tell you what to do.
But like, I won't be there if Kelsey's there.
If you catch my drift.
And Ashley's like, fuck my life.
Because I just felt like these women are starting to give me a little bit of a chance.
And I don't want to mess that up by uninviting Kelsey from trivia.
You can't invite Kelsey from trivia.
But Rosie's the only person in the group that Ashley's like actually currently friends with.
So she can't invite univating.
Rosie from trivia. It seems we are at an impasse, except for they both go to trivia. Spoiler alert.
It's funny. Funny what happens when there's cameras and a paycheck on the line.
But, okay, I do have to say a lot of people, and I, you know, we're doing like a, you know,
the listener questions later. I feel like a lot of people have been bringing up like team
Rosie, team Kelsey, which side are you on? What's the? And I'm like, I am. I am.
fundamentally team, I hope you have fun ripping each other apart. Like I don't, I don't need to,
there doesn't need to be like a protagonist and an antagonist. Like, I think they are both
approaching this in a way that is leading to continued conflict, which, to which I say,
thank you, because I have a lot to talk about. But I do think that Rosie is being a little bit
annoying in the way that she is framing Kelsey's, like, treatment of her, that she is really laying
it on thick when it comes to Kelsey's attacking me. She's saying all this stuff. Oh, I can't.
She literally is obsessed with me. She fucking hates me. And I get that they don't get along. It's fine.
And I get that she didn't think that the siren was funny. She didn't appreciate it, whatever.
But when Ashley asks her, was she trying to be funny?
And Rosie is, no, mm-mm.
It's like, come on.
Yes, she was.
She literally said it was a joke.
And again, it's totally within Rosie's rights to say, hey, please don't joke about that.
I don't think it's funny.
To me, it's not a joke.
But when you're literally being asked, was she trying to make a joke?
The answer's yes.
It's a pass fail.
And later in the episode, when Liz is like, yeah, so, you know, I see both sides, but also I'm kind of thinking that maybe Rosie just can't take a joke.
It's like, I mean, yes, yes, yeah.
And again, if she, she doesn't need to love the joke, but it is an attempted joke.
We can agree on that, I think.
But yeah, Alicia and Ruler are at the beach.
They walk on the beach for like five minutes.
I'm like, did they even sit down?
It's such a short scene.
And really the only, other than Rula telling Alicia that she needs to get her, you know, financial, you know, she needs to know what's going on and ask Billy for the, you know, piece of the restaurant or whatever.
The only other thing that happens when they're at the beach is that they run into this woman Amanda who her lower third says Joe Ellen's friend.
But then we find out that she has actually also had a falling out with Joe Ellen.
And Rula is like licking her lips.
She's so excited.
The only time we've seen Rula more excited this season was at Rail Explorers when Joellen
wasn't there and she was like passing out the tequila on the back of the little train track.
She's like, oh, yes, so I think it's interesting to meet another person who also has had an issue with Joe Ellen.
Because the thing about Joe Allen is that she thinks she's being a detective, but she's really just being a douche.
I don't think I, something about the word.
douche.
Coming out of a woman like Rula,
douche.
It's very,
it's almost like sensual.
It's kind of a, I don't think we,
I don't think we, I mean,
is it a good insult?
What's wrong with the,
I don't know,
to each their own,
but it was satisfying to me in that moment.
See, when Rula shows up,
I enjoy her.
But she right now is really,
only showing up to hang out with Alicia or to be laid up in bed with a case of full glam.
Like, I, I just, we need her to, we need her to be out in the world a little bit because this
episode, she doesn't come to trivia night.
She's not at, um, couples dinner. She wasn't invited to that. And then I don't think she's
going to the, the, the Boston, um, Rich's, uh, Sinatra thing.
Rula is really like phoning it in.
And every time she's on the phone, I'm enjoying it.
But I need you to show up FaceTime at least.
It's like we need to give Rula like a return to office, three days a week at least.
The other days you can work from home.
We need you to be present.
Some of these meetings, we need to have a person.
HR needs to send a memo to Rula for season two.
We're in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays.
That's the bare minimum.
Now, if you have a normal job, who cares?
Work from home.
But the couple's dinner.
Again, it's still the same day.
How many hours in a day in Rhode Island?
But I'm obsessed there at this restaurant.
And the waiter comes to take the orders, the drink orders.
And Liz, it's like, the bartender knows what the gin drink that she makes me with
the grapefruit and the lemon.
She knows.
She knows.
That's just such a,
such a chic way to order your drink.
The bartender knows what I like.
That's the woman I aspire to be.
Just like, tell the bartender to make the Liz,
the Liz special.
It's like when Ramona's like the Ramona, it's a vodka soda.
But we find out that Rosie called not just Ashley at Costco.
She also called Joellen after Kelsey,
left her house and filter in on her side of the story.
And this is interesting because Joellen and Rosie have not necessarily been seeing eye to eye this whole season.
And what Liz tells us is that she calls Joellen the banana peel because, you know, sometimes you're not looking and she's there.
And then you can slip on her.
Like she's a little slippery.
And they're like, so you're saying Joellen plays both sides.
She's like, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
I was going to say.
Interesting.
Banana peel is an interesting way to frame that.
I kind of like it.
But they're talking about slam pig.
They're Googling it.
Kelsey reads the definition in her confessional.
And I love that when Jo Ellen's reading off her French,
she goes, hmm.
So basically, oh, it's not a compliment.
And it's like, did you think it was a compliment?
Rosie screamed it at her after she kicked her out of her house.
I don't think it was a compliment.
They're like, oh, ugly.
was promiscuous big woman, that's not Kelsey.
It's like, right.
We're being hyperbolic.
When we hate each other, we say things that aren't maybe definition accurate.
But again, we're talking about trivia.
Kelsey says I would rather chew on glass than go to trivia with Rosemary Woods.
Not like the government name.
Rosemary Woods.
And then Liz brings up again the Alicia homeless thing, which we're,
We'll become more important later in the episode.
But you can tell in this moment that Liz is, like, more bothered by this conversation with Alicia than maybe you would have thought just from one dinner in Newport.
So we'll put a pin on that.
And then we'll go to Trivia night at Audrey's.
Alicia shows up and she's like, wow, like, Aubrey's is beautiful.
I love the space at Aubrey's.
Jane's Fonda.
Aubrey's.
It's called Audrey's.
I just say, it looks nice.
I mean, it's coffee shop, whatever.
But Sweet Ashley thinks that putting Kelsey and Rosie at separate high top tables that are about eight inches from each other will be just dandy for keeping them separated.
I'm like, my girl, Ashley is not prepared for any of this.
Because of course, they both show up.
They're fighting in the middle of trivia night.
They're getting coffee in a show at Audrey's.
and Ashley's crying.
She's like,
they're,
I'm like,
she like goes to get consoled by Jared.
Jared's like the trivia emcee.
I'm like,
what can't he do?
Um,
and then at a certain point,
Liz is hiding under the table.
Ashley goes to join her and,
I'm like,
what's going on?
But yeah,
I mean,
Kelsey shows up with a pageant sash that says
Miss Slam Pig and she,
she's wearing a little tiara.
I thought it was funny.
I thought it was funny.
Because the thing is, you know, the siren with the house police, I get that.
Maybe you don't appreciate it because it's re-upping the dig that you already made.
The Miss Slam pig sash, your, Kelsey's making light of the insult that Rosie called her.
So I actually think that this is really fair game for Kelsey to make a joke of.
You can't be mad that she's owning it and turning it on its head and reclaiming.
She's like, you know what?
I am a slam pig.
I slept with six people.
None of them were married, according to Kelsey.
I also loved one of the first questions that we hear in the trivia is what was the pig's name and toy story.
Joellen just goes, I wrote Kelsey.
These girls, they just make me laugh.
Kelsey later she says oink oink motherfucker
His name was ham
His name was Sam
Nobody else knew somebody thought bacon
Somebody thought just like pig
His name's ham
Ham Rex
Potato Head
Now I want to watch Toy Story
The Power of Bravo
The next couple scenes
We wrap up the episode
Alicia gives a spirited little presentation
To Billy about her business ideas
For Pizza Mama
She has her ideas
on like a science fair like trifold poster board.
It was cute.
I like I just can't tell how serious Alicia is about this and I want I want so much for her.
And I'm like, is this supposed to be cheeky or is this what you think like a real business
proposal is?
And I think Billy kind of can't tell either.
And I think that's the problem.
It's like we're not seeing Billy say the wrong thing really at all.
We're seeing him be, I think, sort of understandably questioning.
Is this something you really care about?
Is this something you really want?
Like, do I trust you with the business right now?
I don't know because you literally have never, like, known anything about business?
Him having a financial planner is not like dubious.
It's like good common sense.
But they agree that the next Pizza Mama location, she gets 10% of his share.
I'm like, I would love to see the percentages on that.
But good for her.
You know, it's growth.
It's positive.
But then we're headed to Capo, to Richie's Sinatra.
And I looked this up because when Kelsey came in or when Rosie came in, she brought Rich with her.
And I was like, okay, first of all, he's a good-looking man.
Also, I like Frank Sinatra.
I went to the website.
I saw he does these Capo Sundays.
I didn't even know they were going to go there on the show.
It's a little far away from me.
I don't think I would go to Boston for that.
You never know.
Fly me out.
But we don't actually get to Capo in this episode because we are with Liz and Alicia and Joe Ellen in the car there.
They have a charcutory board in the SUV.
These women need a cracker literally everywhere.
And Liz and Alicia really get into it again about this homeless thing.
And like I said, you can tell.
tell that for Liz, she is really, for whatever reason, this is really like pinging for her as something
that Alicia is, you know, not speaking about in the proper way.
Alicia, you know, is frustrated because she feels like Liz is trying to minimize her experience
and, you know, her feelings of hurt about, you know, her father not being there.
And Liz, Liz apologizes.
But then it feels like Alicia kind of has gotten it in her head that Liz is.
isn't taking her seriously.
So it starts to kind of escalate.
And that's where Joellen then gets caught in the middle.
Banana peel.
Because, you know, she's kind of trying to empathize, I guess, with what Alicia's going through
because they had this heart to heart in Newport.
But then Liz is like, well, Joellen, shut the fuck up.
Like, we were just talking at the triple date about you didn't think she was homeless, whatever.
Like, Liz is not going to listen to Joellen kind of flip-flop and not call her out for it.
So I think it's, it's a tricky situation because I understand why Joellen doesn't want to be like, yeah, Alicia, shut up.
You weren't homeless because that's, like, rude and unnecessary.
But it's, you know, it's, it's complicated.
But, you know, they're going to Coppo and they're sitting front row for this Sinatra show.
know how big that venue is. It's not big enough to have a big front row fight and it doesn't
cause a scene. And man, next episode looks like it's going to be lit. Intense. Joe Ellen and Liz

Let's pivot and get into some listener questions, our mention it all mailbag.
Okay, sticking with Rhode Island, this is more of a comment.
Somebody sent in some Real Housewives of Rhode Island tea from a fellow.
Rhode Islander and so I just want to read this verbatim because it really made me laugh.
Okay.
This is more of a comment but just wanted to say as someone from Rhode Island, all the Rhode Island
drama is real.
The Joellen being sent away stuff, Rula Affair, Rosie being fired versus quitting were all
things I heard about when they started filming last summer.
Also, public perception of Rosie in Rhode Island isn't great.
A lot of people don't like her from what happened with her news job, which is why Kelsey
he probably went in so hard.
And yes, the accents are real.
And my friend knows Alicia can attest hers isn't fake.
Thank you, Diva.
Rhode Island, boots on the ground.
I just love, I love that this is giving credence to what they love to say on Real House House House of Rhode Island that like every single person in the state knows that you fuck married men.
Every single person in the state knows that, you know, you got fired from your job.
This person knows.
She heard through the great fine.
She heard through the waterways of Newport.
Good info.
Thank you.
Okay, now getting into some actual questions.
This one is who could take over for Andy on reunions when he retires?
Now, it's a tough question to think about because there's, I feel like there's multiple levels to it.
because obviously Andy is doing a lot and as you know Bravo has continued to grow and develop he really has not ever like put anything off of his plate in terms of his like hosting duties so he's still doing watch what happens all the time four nights five nights a week he's still doing radio Andy all the like every day and he still does.
all of the Bravo reunions. So it's obviously all of housewives, Southern Charms, Summer House,
the Valley, Southern hospitality, you name it. Andy is sitting on that couch for like 10
hours having to watch all of the shows, having to, you know, get prepped by, you know, whatever
team. Like, it's a lot that he is doing. And so I don't think that anyone is ever going to be like
the next Andy in terms of like taking over the full scope of what he does.
And I think in terms of reunions specifically, I actually think it might make more sense to have,
if he were to like retire, whatever that looks like, to have somebody as kind of like the
housewives reunion host and then somebody else or a mix of other people to do kind of like
the other shows. Because I do think there's sort of like a, there's like a sanctity of like real
housewives. And then, you know, if somebody else needed to host the Valley reunion next season,
like, it's okay. We will live. So a few people that came to mind. First of all, I don't, I don't
think it should be or really would be somebody who has like been on a Bravo show. Because people,
you know, a few years ago, there was the rumor that Craig was going to be like announced at BravoCon as
the successor to Andy, which is just like bad shit crazy. But people are like Stasi's doing, you know,
Vanderpump Villa or, you know, oh, it should be like, you know, once upon a time, I feel like
people probably wanted like Beth, I need a host or whatever. I actually think having somebody
who is like steeped in reality TV, but not from within being on reality TV is like a little bit
better positioning. And so I feel like you could go kind of a more like journalist host kind of
route. And the person that came to mind for me was Justin Sylvester, who was on E forever. He's like
Kyle's, you know, BFF. He's really good. I think he's really good at hosting. And he also is good at like
getting the information. Like he's like a fan, like he's interested in what's going on. I think he would do a
great job. If they went more of like an internal kind of like homegrown talent kind of route,
I think that Darren Karp could do a good job. She's worked at Bravo forever. She's been like Andy's
assistant. She's always hosting things like at BravoCon doing panels, things like that.
She's really good, really like put together. And I feel like she knows how the sausage is made in a way
that a lot of outside people really wouldn't. And then the other kind of route that I feel like they
could go is somebody who's known as a Bravo commentator, a Bravo podcaster, you know,
discusser person. And I think Danny Pellegrina would do a great job. Danny, a friend of the
pod, come back anytime. I think he would do a good job hosting a reunion. So those are just some
ideas. Again, I don't think that there's going to be a like real successor to Andy in like a full
sense of that, but like, I think there are people that could do a good job, but I don't think it's,
it's not Nick by all. Let me tell you that. Somebody said, I don't understand how is Scamanda
worse than Scandibald? This is something, there has been so much hand-wringing since this whole
scandal started of like, is it worse? Could it be worse? How could it be worse? It's not worse.
It's so much worse. People have fallen really on like every side.
of this. And to me, I don't think that it is worse on paper than six-month affair with your
current partner of nine years, whatever. Unless the timeline of West and Amanda is like much,
much worse than we are sort of being led to believe. But like that is, you know, that's a
different case. That would, that would be like try them at the Hague. In terms of like if they
started hooking up when they say they did, whatever.
I don't think it's worse on paper.
But I do think that specifically the way that Sierra has been treated by both West and
Amanda is like specifically really, really shitty in a way that I think, I think Ariana was
like extremely betrayed by her partner.
but I think that with Sierra it's like a specific kind of hurt where it's like both of these
people have been like so close with her and specifically in these last handful of episodes
of Summerhouse the way that Sierra has been riding for Amanda to get what she needs
in her relationship with Kyle by maybe by leaving it.
Like, she has been, I mean, on the reunion trailer, she says, I've been your champion.
It's that kind of thing where it's like, that's more than Ariana ever had with Raquel.
So it's, it's not a one-to-one comparison.
I don't think it's like so much worse.
But I also think it's, it's insidious in different ways.
Yeah, it sucks.
The next one, as a fellow St. Louis native, what are your thoughts on a.
St. Louis housewives. And where did you go to high school? By the way, I grew up in Olivet and I went to
Ladoo High School. Go Rams. Fun fact, my high school that I went to, we had a rival high school
Clayton, which is where Andy Cohen went to high school. And one of the first times I ever met
Andy was in like 2019 and I went to watch What Happens Live and they had like a, it was like a
specific like creator thing at Watch What Happens Live and they had a whole like reception
before the taping which normally you you go a little early you get like one one drink and
then you go into the studio this was like a party and Andy was like out mingling before the show
which like it just was not normal and I got a little drunk I was a different time and I told Andy
that we went to rival high schools, and I don't think he was, like, super impressed by that.
So that I live with.
In terms of St. Louis Housewives, I heard through the grapevine, like, a million years ago
that they had done some casting work, some outreach, whatever, that we know that they have done
in a lot of different places that have never gotten a Housewives series.
So that is something where I think that we will never know the extent to which Bravo and these production companies have sort of like, you know, gone to a different city, a different suburb, a different, you know, enclave and sort of like, you know, put their, you know, run their fingers through the files.
And then like, is this anything? Probably not.
Okay, move on to the next place.
So I think St. Louis has been looked at in that way.
Andy has said basically that he has no interest in doing it.
But to me the issue, and I suspect that this is probably the case with a lot of places,
a lot of sort of these like mid-size, you know, older cities, that there is kind of a dichotomy of like people with money in a place like St. Louis where there is sort of a like old money, like prominent family, you know, sort of.
of like older house kind of like part of St. Louis that I think would be interesting.
And then there is also the more like suburban new money. I'm putting these in quotations because
like old money, new money. What does that mean? But like, you know, the big McMansion, the big
house subdivision, like that kind of further out suburb. And I think that it would be really
interesting to have a show in St. Louis, and again, I bet this is the case with other places,
where you had some people from kind of both of those sides. And so I think with St. Louis,
if you could get somebody from one of those big prominent families, like a Bush or a snook,
the grocery, the grocery dynasty, the Schlafly's, like there are families in St. Louis
that I just don't think would ever say yes to doing housewives. I mean, Google, Google the Bush
family, some shit has gone down. Like, it's, it's, there's lore, but I don't think those people
want to do real housewives. And so I think if you could only get the kind of like, again,
quote unquote new money kind of people, I don't think I would really want to watch that.
Like for, for my St. Louis true heads, I don't want to watch six women who live in like Chesterfield
and St. Charles County on housewives. Because I'm like, okay, I could just like go to Target on a
Sunday and they're there. It is what it is. Um, no, so I don't think they're ever going to do it and I don't
think it would work. Um, okay, somebody asked, are there any Bravo Lebs you'd never have on the show?
This was interesting to think about because I'm like, like, like, yeah, okay. So what I was thinking?
In terms of people who are like currently on Bravo shows, not really. I, there's not like a list of like,
I hate this person.
I hate this person.
To me, it's more of evaluating who's coming down the pipeline, what shows are on,
who are we hoping to get, who would be cool to get, who is offered to us?
It's a real puzzle of, hey, we have, you know, right now on the show, we have one guest a week.
There's only so many slots.
And some months we have more people coming in the door than,
and we have slots and we have to say no to people.
Some months it's like,
hey,
um,
anybody,
anybody around next week?
It's looking a little,
looking a little empty.
And so I think for me,
there are people where like,
if,
if we,
if I get offered a name and it's somebody who right now is like,
really not having a good season or people just are,
are not liking at all,
I might pass on them in that moment,
but then that can change.
and maybe next year they have a great season and it's like, hey, this person, yeah, it's really
interesting to talk to them about that. So not so much. I mean, there are people like Kelly Dodd,
Ramona Singer. I'm not trying to have them on the show. It's just like, why? Why would I do that?
I want to have cool people. I want to have people that you guys want to watch and listen to.
and it's always a puzzle.
But my thing I do, my thing I do try to avoid is like if somebody is only doing press for like a,
like a brand partnership, like I just, I want to have like a real conversation with somebody
and it's like if you're doing like a shoe brand deal and that's like the reason you want to talk to
like, it's not that interesting.
But hey, you never know.
Okay, thoughts on, this is another interesting one.
Thoughts on confessional timing and how.
it affects show narrative.
This is interesting because I feel like it is one of the parts of production and like the
timeline of these shows that is probably examined the least because I think it's when
you're watching the seasons and of course they do this on purpose, you really can't tell
or get much of a read on when different confessionals were filmed.
And, you know, obviously they're having different confessional looks throughout the season.
But we know that oftentimes they'll go back for multiple sessions in the same look.
And so they sort of get a certain number of looks per season, but they might be doing more interviews throughout the season and have to, you know, repeat the same.
You'll see differences in somebody's glam, whatever.
And then also, you know, they're starting them during filming.
So some of them are much closer to real time.
Some of them are, you know, months after the fact.
I thought it was really a fun kind of detail in the Summer House reunion trailer for this reunion
that Lindsay and Kyle are in their confessional interviews for in the city.
You can tell from like the styling of the couch setup when they, when the statement is coming out.
And it's like, that's a fun little Easter egg kind of almost where it's like,
okay, so on April 9th, when this, you know, April 1st or whatever it was, when the statement
went up, they were taping confessionals for In the City, which just premiered last week. And so
it is, you can kind of piece together certain things. But I think probably the best,
the best case is that there is sort of a balance of stuff that is filmed, recorded more
close to when things are happening. And you also have to have stuff later because when they're
in the edit and they're figuring out how a storyline is going to come together, they're finding
out, oh, hey, we actually do need, you know, Shamiya to be responding to this thing. And we didn't
get it on the first try. So next time Shamiya's in, can you ask her about this? Like, that's just like
the nuts and bolts of how these shows get made. But I also, God, I love every once in a while when we get
one of those like on the spot confessionals. Never forget Bethany and her roller skates doing the
confessional outside the party and then just skating away. If we could have more of those,
that would be fun. Okay, reality show that's off the air, but you want to bring back.
I mean, the obvious choice right now is Real Housewives of Miami, which I'll, you know,
I'll bang that drum any chance I get, but another that's not that interesting. So another,
another Bravo show that I feel like always gets tossed around in this kind of thing is another
another Miami-based show gone too soon, Family Karma.
Our friends got three seasons, and I just felt like with that show,
it's not that it was the most explosive show ever.
It's not that it was my favorite show ever.
But I really enjoyed what it brought to sort of the overall Bravo landscape,
where it was a group of people that had, you know,
obviously the common thread of all being in the,
this like Indian community, but they were all in very different places in their lives, going
through different things. But it felt like they had really just organic connections with each other.
And, you know, it's that thing of like, oh, like, I've known this person since I was a baby and our
parents know each other. And the parents on that show were such a fun layer to it. And, you know,
some of the cultural conversations, too, about, you know, getting married, having kids.
watching Amritten Nicholas
like navigate that whole thing and coming out
and now they have a baby together
like there was a lot of really interesting material
to that show that I think just would
keep working if they gave it a chance
but yeah that's the
that's the one that came to mind
okay a few more
somebody asked who's the new person
that I'm most excited about on in the city
and, okay, this is kind of a cursed answer.
Danielle's boyfriend Owen really does it for me.
Like, just visually, I'm into it, like, tennis player.
He has, like, kind of a, like, funky-looking face, which, like, I don't know.
You know, like, a bit interesting visually.
So I think he's hot, but also I'm like, I don't know about this, like, marriage situation.
Is Danielle a homewrecker?
I don't know.
I saw her last week.
She's pregnant.
She's glowing.
She looks beautiful.
But is she a homework?
That I need to know.
The other new people, I mean, as I'm recording this, I've only watched one episode.
I'm like, I don't know.
Not feeling Kenny that much.
Don't have, don't have a lot of thoughts about, like, Georgina, Yvonne.
Oh my God, the name, Yvonne.
I can't stop thinking about that one.
Was it a mad TV sketch that can I have you another?
Yvonne, damn.
It's a French-ass name.
It's a French-ass name, Yvonne.
Maybe I'm excited to talk about Yvonne every week.
Somebody said,
unfortunately I see a comeback for Amanda if she leans into the West F-boy narrative.
Thoughts.
I literally was talking to someone about this just the other day that getting a little bit
conspiracy, I don't know if it's a conspiracy theory.
It's a theory.
Just a thought.
I don't necessarily, I don't doubt that Amanda has.
feelings for West.
Like, I don't think that she is, like, faking this whole relationship.
But I also think that Amanda is smart.
Question mark?
Uh-huh.
Smart.
I don't know.
Whatever.
She's not stupid.
And I could see her having a thought, having a realization where, hey,
everybody hates me right now.
It's bad.
It's bad for me.
The one way that I might be able to sort of ride this out and then come out on the other side with something is if I sell that I am head over heels for West, this is a connection of the heart that I could not do anything about.
and I hope to be with this man forever, knowing deep down that he is going to do something to screw it up.
And that if she, if she like rides hard on like, I love Westie and then he's, you know, with somebody else or screws her over or cheats on it, whatever, then maybe she can frame herself as like, hey Sierra, he did both of us.
us wrong. And I don't think that would work on Sierra. Like, I don't think that Sierra forgiving her is
like in the cards right now. But in terms of making a little bit of incremental progress or having a
sort of angle to like stay on reality TV or like get some segment of the population to want to
want to fuck with her again, I could see it. I don't know if it'll work. I don't know if that's the
case. I don't know if West will, maybe she and West will be in love till the end of time.
Maybe. Okay, let's, let's end on this one. This is so rude. Somebody said, would you rather be
trapped in an elevator with Bethany or Ramona? Um, I mean, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how high, how
up. Can I jump? No. I would pick Bethany because Bethany is a hustler and she is resourceful in a way that I don't think Ramona is. And so I think Bethany would whip some kind of toolkit out of her, you know, Birkin. She would find a crow, she would like pull off a piece of the paneling and use it as a
crowbar. She'd have snacks. I'm sure she'd have like some chicken salad in her bag or a seafood
boil or something. And she would know who to call. She would be like, I got a guy. I'm on it.
Whereas I think Ramona would just complain a lot and like probably say something problematic.
Bethany knows, Bethany knows how to get shit done. She's fucking annoying. She would talk my ear off
about how Dina Manzo's daughter is not a good business woman. And she's,
I don't have to
this bitch made a TikTok
and I don't have to post
the pair of shoes
if I don't want to.
Sorry, it's business.
But she would get us
out of that elevator.
Oh my God.
