Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All. A Bravo by Betches podcast. We don't say that, but now we said it. With me, Dylan Hafer.
Hey, everyone, welcome back to the Mention at All podcast. I am Dylan Hafer, and it is Friday, so that means it is just me here talking about stuff. We have the Southern Charm reunion to get to. But before that, I have a feeling most of you have seen that Beverly Hills reunion trailer that dropped on Thursday night. And oh boy, what?
a trailer it is. It starts at the end of the day. We work our way back. Things look hot and heavy.
Kathy is there. She's coming guns blazing for Rina. She's calling her the biggest bully in Hollywood,
and I am ready to see it. It is wild. Thinking back just a few weeks ago, we weren't sure
Kathy Hilton was even going to show up to this reunion. Diana's there over Zoom. Everybody else is
there in person, and it looks like it is going to be a really intense day.
Kyle is such a mess at the end.
She doesn't even want to sit down and do the toast like they usually do at the end.
I don't know what all is going to happen, but boy, am I ready to watch it?
And I can't wait to break it all down.
Before we get to the Beverly Hills reunion next week, we have a Southern Charm reunion to
discuss.
And part one, it was pretty exciting.
I feel like this is a season where during the season, it was a little bit up and down.
There were some bumpy moments.
There were some moments that felt like filler.
But there has been enough stuff that has happened, both during the season and afterward,
that we have a fair amount of material to get through.
And what's crazy, we have on this couch, I believe, seven women and only three men.
And all three of the men have at least one X.
who's on the couch. So the dynamics between the group are really in kind of a wild place because
we have, we have Taylor there who has somewhat recently ended her relationship with Shep and is
certainly upset about it. We have Austin with both Madison and Olivia bringing weird,
toxic vibes. And then we have, of course,
Craig and Naomi, who somehow Craig and Naomi are like the least toxic ex vibe at this reunion,
which based on watching the season, maybe I wouldn't have guessed, but I mean, the bar is on the
floor for not being toxic with your ex. I mean, we really, we really jump out of the gate
with the bad vibes. I do love to see that Madison is out there on the couch right from the
beginning. This season, the casting was a little bit questionable with Madison, I think,
officially, technically being a friend of. And at one point, I think Caleb was supposed to be in the
full-time cast. And obviously Caleb isn't there. It seems like Caleb, you know, has left
Charleston never to return. Meanwhile, we have Madison out there on the couch the whole time.
And I think this is what Madison deserves.
I think she shows up prepared.
Just look at last reunion.
You know, she has the texts on her phone.
She's bringing, you know, there's, I think she is a reunion all star, really.
And whether or not she was technically full time on the show, I don't care.
We need her at this reunion.
And she's delivering in this first episode.
I think, honestly, I think everybody at this reunion came prepared.
Taylor, within the first five minutes, is talking about.
about Shep and how he allegedly was, you know, getting his dick wet down in Texas.
I don't love the use of the word whore.
I think it's a little distasteful.
I think it's a little disrespectful.
But she says that Shep slept with 300 women and that he was searching for women the
whole time they were in a relationship.
And this is a direct quote.
So, you know, she says, you've wrapped me into this slew of whores that you've fucked.
and now I'm just a number.
I was just the whore that lasted the longest.
And like I said, I mean, that word to me is a little bit like, really, it's 2022.
Like, it's not about the women.
It's about Shep.
But I understand why Taylor is mad.
She's saying that the whole time they were in a relationship for two and a half years,
he was searching for other women.
And she says that now he is using women to masturbate.
And that he never knew anything about her.
says, do you know my favorite color? Do you know my favorite movie? Do you know my favorite animal?
And the answer is kind of no. The thing is, okay. So like, I fully understand why Taylor is so
upset about this Shep situation, because they were together for two and a half years. And I think
by most accounts, for the majority of that time, he was not really that invested in being faithful
to her. And maybe some of that she knew about and some of it she didn't. But he, he's,
He was an extremely shitty partner to her.
But then it's like the way that she is coming out of the gate, so hot at Shep.
And I think she's kind of, she has a lot of hurt feelings with good reason, but then she's
sort of letting it, you know, careen off the tracks into a place that's not that productive
and yelling about 300 whores in Texas and him using women to masturbate.
It's like, I don't really, first of all, I don't know if I truly understand the point she's trying to make.
But I also think it's like, let's just focus on Shep.
Because like he says, he is single now.
So whatever he's been doing sexually in the last, let's say, six months is kind of irrelevant in a way.
And I think it's the kind of thing where he did enough bad stuff to tailor.
directly when they were in a relationship that it's like, we can just focus on that because she has
really valid feelings and was really treated poorly. And I think it's kind of like, okay, let's,
let's focus on the issue at hand. But I mean, he doesn't know her favorite color. He doesn't
know her favorite animal. Okay, when somebody says, what's my favorite animal? The answer is not
your dog. Like, she, she doesn't mean, favorite animal is like, favorite animal is like,
like an animal at the zoo. Am I correct? I feel like when you say what's my favorite animal,
the answer isn't like, oh, my childhood pet. The answer is like giraffe, zebra, capybara, bearded dragon.
Like, favorite animal as a concept isn't like the animal that you hold closest to your heart.
It's like which one is like the most fun to see at the zoo. I was always a giraffe kid.
Sound off with a five-star review what your favorite animal is. And what you think
We don't even know what Taylor's favorite animal is.
It's not her dog.
Her favorite color is not green.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I mean, I'm glad that they're not together anymore because clearly Shep was not giving Taylor
what she wants and needs out of a relationship.
But I also think, I think Taylor maybe needs to let it go a little bit more.
I think she still is carrying a lot of anger towards Shep.
And I think the anger is very warranted.
But I don't know.
if it's going to serve her at the end of the day. And I want her to, you know, I want her to thrive.
Girl, winter is so last season. And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry

Speaking of letting relationships go, I guess.
I don't know if that's a valid segue.
But Catherine, we get a Catherine segment at this part of the reunion, which I guess we
needed some updates on Catherine, but at the same time, she was not super active this
season.
She says her custody situation, her only update on the custody situation is that
Kenzie and St. They're seven and eight.
Oh my God, we're so old.
Kenzie did a lemonade stand.
She made $42, so it sounds like things aren't great with Thomas.
And then Shep is like, oh, I ran into Thomas recently.
And, you know, it is sometimes when you see that guy, you just can't help but grin.
And Andy's like, Shep, can you read the fucking room right now?
We're talking about Catherine's custody situation.
And Thomas being like an abuser.
Maybe let's not tell a casual story about how he's like the most fun guy at the bar.
you know, just like reading a room is good. But so yeah, Caleb moved to Miami after they broke up.
They don't speak. That is what it is. She probably scared him away with grape jelly meatballs, which like,
yikes. The other thing is that Catherine and Naomi still have a lot of issues with each other.
And based on this season, I feel like these issues are based on things that have happened
sort of a long time in the past. Catherine is saying that Naomi has said stuff on the show in the
past that was used in her custody battle. Naomi seems to not have any idea what Catherine is
referring to, but it doesn't feel like they, like Catherine was really around on this season
enough to have current issues with anyone. And while I, I don't want to say I like Catherine,
I appreciate Catherine as a reality TV character and for what she's brought to the show.
But I feel like with this season, there's enough going on with the rest of the cast that if you're not actively participating, you kind of don't have anything to contribute to the group.
I mean, thinking this part of the reunion of all the stuff that's going on between Madison and Vanita and Leva and Craig and Shep and Taylor and kind of all of the
dynamics on the couch, Catherine isn't really involved in any of that. And I wonder, going into
presumably a next season, I almost feel like nobody on this show wants to, like, have the conversation
about what are we doing with Catherine? But if they were to make cast changes out of this group,
I feel like she's kind of the first person that would be trimmed off the edges, you know?
Just in terms of like an actual friend group, I feel like Catherine,
is the one person that doesn't have kind of a central connection. Maybe Vinita a little bit,
but everybody else on the show, it feels like they really slot into this group in a way that I
care about. And Catherine, you know, now that Thomas isn't on the show, now that Whitney's not
around as much, and I don't know what's going on with him and Catherine anyway, it's like,
I don't know if it really feels like she has that much of a place here anymore, which feels
crazy because she's been around since the beginning, but it's just, it's a different vibe. And I mean,
we, we spend so much time on this episode talking about Olivia and, you know, the really
strange dynamic between her and Madison, both kind of being exes of Austin's, but
Olivia clearly feels like there was potential for something with Austin that kind of got lost
in the shuffle. And I think for Olivia,
she sees Madison as a major reason why things never really went to the next level with Austin,
because she feels like, you know, on the show, she was focused on Austin,
and Austin was focused on talking shit about Madison,
and that Austin and Madison have this kind of impenetrable back-and-forth dynamic
where they expend so much energy on hating each other that it's hard to really do anything else.
And I don't think she's wrong.
I think Austin definitely has, it seems like he's struggled in the last year or two to kind of
move forward without Madison and build an identity for himself.
And I mean, Madison is engaged to someone else.
So you can't say that she hasn't done that in her personal life, but certainly on the show,
it feels like a main reason she's there is to kind of give Austin grief.
And it is like, okay, at what point do we just fully move on?
you know if Madison is going to get engaged and she's you know alluding to moving to Utah her
fiance clearly doesn't want to be on camera it's like okay so are you going to be here next year
are you like are you just biding your time until you get married and move it's a little it's a little
questionable I can't imagine she's going to get married and then just be in a long distance marriage
that seems like a like not a great plan I don't know the Austin
And Olivia thing is interesting because it seems like they really have a case of just kind of not being in the right place at the right time for each other.
Because Austin seems like he at one point or another had intentions of wanting something more with Olivia.
But then, you know, the one time that it maybe really came up that way, Olivia was kind of not in the right headspace.
and now I think just enough has gone down and the show being on has probably not helped,
that it's like, okay, now the moment has passed.
You know, maybe we can hook up.
Maybe we're still friends, but like, I don't want everything that's going to come along with that.
It's tough.
And the whole thing with Sierra.
So Austin and Craig are trying to explain that, yes, Austin slept with Sierra because Olivia brought a date.
but Austin didn't sleep with Sierra to get back at Olivia for bringing a date.
But if Olivia hadn't brought a date, he wouldn't have slept with Sierra.
And the way they're talking about this, they're like, I'm going to repeat back to you exactly
what you just said, but I'm going to say it in a way that's going to make you believe that I'm
right. And it's like, no, no, no, I'm smarter than that.
I get why you wanted to sleep with Sierra because you were lonely and Sierra's hot.
But like, it wasn't just you wanting to have a talk with her because you had an
talk to her in a while. Come on. I don't know. Madison and Vanita are not friends. You know,
Madison is still angry about Vanita saying that she grabbed the phone out of her hand to see what
Lever was texting her. This feels like kind of a lower level issue to me. I just, I don't know.
I was never that invested in their friendship to begin with. And while, you know, I like Vanita,
I think Madison is great on TV. I guess I would like for them to work through their issues.
I'm like, I don't really feel like this is like some tragic loss of besties.
I don't know.
I wonder what everyone thinks about Leva saying that Craig told her at one point that he is the most popular person on Bravo.
I just feel like this is something I can definitely imagine Craig saying.
And I don't know that I agree.
I don't know.
I mean, I certainly he's one of the only people that can claim to be on.
as many different Bravo shows as he is.
So I guess in one way,
that could be a metric of measuring popularity,
but you don't have the 8 million Instagram followers that Candy has.
You don't have the level of,
you know,
public attention that Beverly Hills has.
You don't have an ounce of the iconicness
that any of that Girls Trip season one cast does.
You know, it's one of those things where I'm like,
yeah,
like Craig, I think, is in a lot of ways a fan favorite, but if he's going around telling people he's the most popular person on Bravo, get a fucking grip. Please. I mean, be fucking for real. Anyway, I'm excited for part two of the reunion. These crazies are always doing it for me. But in the meantime, thank you so much for listening.
