OG Alexia Nipola
Hi Alexia
Hi.
It's a new season.
How are you feeling?
It is.
I'm very excited.
I'm very happy to be here.
Thank you for having me.
And you guys are not going to be disappointed.
It's another really, really good season.
Miami, I mean, always, but especially these last few years since you guys came back in your reboot era,
you have not had a dull moment.
It's been a super consistent cast.
What does it feel like now that you have a few of these seasons more recently under your
about do you feel more comfortable coming back for another year or is it kind of another roller coaster
every time? No, I mean, I feel like I'm more comfortable and all the ladies are more comfortable
with each other. And for example, I know Julia, it's like her third season. So she's really like
coming out of her shell this season. I think it takes a while, you know, to get there. I'm obviously
more used to it because I was on season one, two and three. So for me, it was kind of the same,
honestly. It's like the camera never left. Yeah, you guys,
In those first few seasons, there were so many changes with the casting.
You know, that's fine.
Larsa was only on one season.
You know, it was, there were people coming going.
Whereas now, season four, five, six, it's the same group of nine women that we really
have gotten to, gotten to spend time with and gotten to know.
And you can tell watching the show that it really feels like there are these really dynamic
bonds within the cast, whether things are going great or whether there's some stuff
to be worked on.
But it's cool to see the same group.
really develop over time.
Absolutely.
I feel that's very important.
And I think that that's what really attracts the audience.
You know,
they need to see that consistency.
And I think that that's what's my favorite part of the season where, you know,
I have certain friendships with certain women that maybe we're not expected.
So I think that's exciting.
And I believe that if we have a good cast already, you know,
why fix what's not broken?
I think we have a great cast.
And I like that it's been the same girls for seasons, four, five, and six.
I liked in the premiere right off the bat.
It's it's all you.
You're putting together the group.
You're bringing everyone back together.
Yeah, that was tough, right?
I, it was on me.
Like, I said, if anybody can do this, it's me.
I can bring all these women together.
We need the Nuevo Horizonte.
Like, we're getting the, we're getting everybody on the same page.
The New Horizons.
You know, you know, I feel like we all wanted to be there and we all, you know, do want to get to
the point, you know, we're all good with each other.
But meanwhile, there's things that we got to figure out.
And we got to talk about.
And Larsa was not very, you know, hesitant, you know, to go there and to ask, you know, and to confront Gertie.
Yeah.
So to have everybody coming back together, obviously we sort of see in the premiere it's like a little bit of jumping forward in time, a little bit of jumping back.
You have your sit down with Julia and then another sit down with Adriana to kind of get on this same page where everybody can come together.
going into this season, did you sort of have in your mind, like, I want to get with Julia.
I want to, you know, build that bridge.
I want to mend things with Adriana.
How did you approach that knowing?
Well, no.
With Adriana, no, I can just stop it right there.
But with Julia, yes.
So I felt like in New York, you know, after we saw each other in New York and I went, you know,
to her dressing room.
And, you know, she was so accepting of my apology towards her.
And I've always liked Julia.
You know, we've always secretly liked each other.
And I think that that happens between a lot of us that for whatever reason, like we all come together and the camera's there and we act a certain way.
But like behind the scene, we all like each other, which is very important because, you know, I like to be part of a group where we generally like each other.
And I think that we've, you know, we've achieved it.
And like I said, we can have our differences and we can, you know, have different opinions on things.
But, you know, just once we get it out, I feel like we should be able to move forward.
at least I'm really good at doing that.
And with Julia, I was very open to it.
And I think that she was open to it as well.
And because we've like secretly liked each other, it was very easy for it to happen.
Right.
It happened generally, you know.
And I think you sort of watching the episode feel like having that one-on-one moment
where there's no noise from the group.
There's no sort of second person there.
You know, obviously you and Adriana have a totally separate relationship.
And I think sometimes having that, you know,
know, if it's two people and you're not getting along with one of them, it makes it really hard to kind of
narrow your focus. Yeah, definitely. But we're good. I don't have an issue with you. We're definitely.
I see that a lot too. Like one on one, we're like good. But then when the whole group comes together,
and even with Lisa, that's like my friend, like my little sister forever, like I love Lisa. And when she
and she and I are together and there's no cameras, we're like best friends, best sisters. But then when it's like a big
group with or without the camera, like sometimes she like attacks me or she's mean to me. I'm like,
we're not doing this.
Like, you know what I mean?
It's like, we're good.
So, you know, sometimes, you know, the whole group dynamics does have an effect on,
on some of us, on some of the ladies.
And even with myself, right?
Like, let's say last season, you know, I'm, you know, best friends with Marisol.
So I was not staying in my own lane.
I was kind of like jumping into everybody's fights and stuff like that.
This season, I'm a little bit more careful with that because, you know, because I want to be.
Because honestly, I don't have to be fighting other people's fights, you know.
I think maybe because you've been in the group so long,
and I think people see you as kind of a leader in the group,
that it maybe can be tricky to be like,
okay, this isn't, it's not worth it for me to be always getting in the middle of something
when I can just like protect my own piece over here.
Yeah, that's kind of like what I do this season,
except sometimes I have to do it.
Sometimes I'm like, I'm sorry.
Yeah, I'm sorry, but like I have something to say it.
I'm going to say it and I don't care what you all think.
I also thought it was really interesting going into the premiere.
Your relationship with Nicole last season was a little bit up and down, I think, probably.
And obviously, there was the stuff with Todd and with Anthony.
And Todd's apology becomes a major thing.
Of course it does.
I warned them.
I mean, I didn't know about it, like I said.
But once it happened, I said, okay, and now these, you know, the girls are going to make it a story.
Right.
And I think when you're in a group like this and, you know, on a show,
like this, people can't help themselves from bringing that up. And, you know, I think it's great that
they're on a better page. Like, it's nice to see that the, that relationship can be amended. But it's,
it's tough to give something people, give people something to talk about like that. Yeah. Listen, you know,
the show is so different today, obviously, than when I started doing this in 2010 because of social
media. So, you know, everything that happens to us, like in our, you know, in our real life,
when we're not filming, because we are who we are today. And we have to. And we have to,
the publicity, it's going to be brought on to the show once we start filming, whatever
it may be.
You know, so like right now we're not filming, but whatever scandal or whatever happens in
social media, which, you know, which is what everybody's looking at, it's kind of like
everybody's news today.
That's what people look at.
Oh, everybody's conversations based on what they saw in social media.
Does it have any validity?
Sometimes it does.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But it's brought on to our group and, you know, into our story when we're filming.
So I knew this was going to happen.
Yeah, the social media is tough because obviously people watch the show and feel like they have kind of the inner connection of what's going on.
But then your relationships with one another are their own things that exist, that we don't always have all of the, you know, every perspective on.
Of course.
And that's exactly a good point that you're talking about because after season five wrapped up and after New York and everything, you know, Adriana and some of the other girls decided to go on a person.
tour and that's where you know where I had the problem with Adriana that you guys didn't get to
see yes you saw what you saw in the episode but then after you know she went on the press tour you know
to bash me and my family and that's where I drew the line and I said you know what I want nothing to
do with you you're a nasty disgusting person and you're trying to make yourself look good and for you to do
that you're trying to put me down and talk about my family and I was not okay with that so of course you
guys don't see that, but then that transfers on to the next season, which is season six.
But because, you know, we're all part of a group. And like I said, I, you know, I don't like
to feel that way, you know, with anybody for me is very uncomfortable. I'm really good with ignoring
people. But, um, but, you know, I again, you know, since she was friendly with Julia also, I didn't
want to be in that position, you know, and I am having the new, you know, Nova Horizontes party,
the new horizons. So I felt that I needed to set the tone.
for all the girls and include all the girls.
And I'm happy I did, though.
And then you show up and she's waving a white flag, wearing peace signs on the shirt.
You see shows.
These are prop, bro.
I mean, think about it.
It's like you show up, like you put so much thought, you know, as much thought as you put
into showing up with your little piece dress and your white flag, you know, you should put
more thought into making the relationship and the friendship work.
You know, sometimes I think that she turns everything into a joke.
And for me, you know, certain things aren't funny.
Well, I think it's tough.
You two have known each other for so long now.
Like even, you know, just what we've seen on the show is years and years of history.
And so it feels like, you know, why can't we strip away the props and the everything and just have this conversation of I was hurt for this reason.
Maybe you were hurt for that reason.
We've talked about this.
And let's actually, you know, let's get down to the root of it.
And fix it.
Right. But if you see season six, if you see, you know, once you see the first episode,
you're going to see that even after my conversation with her, she still wants to talk
shit behind my back.
She's on the way to my house that I invited her.
And she's trying to talk shit about me behind my back to the other girls.
Yeah, that really, it caught me by surprise just because you had just had this scene where
you're talking about.
Yeah, but she can't help herself.
That's what I'm saying.
She can't help herself.
So you know what?
I'm just going to like, just like let it go and just, you know what?
You're that person.
I feel bad for you because, you know, you're not a nice person.
And you just say things that aren't, you know, aren't true and they're not real.
And you know what?
You still can't be mad at me because I called out your fake boyfriend.
You know, okay, fine.
I didn't scroll all the way down.
You know, I'm not going to say I'm sorry.
I said, I acknowledge that I didn't do that with my friend Johnny.
Johnny and I didn't scroll down because I've never looked up anybody.
So I don't know where to go, what to do, whatever.
But I came to you as a nice friend in front of everyone to tell you,
listen, I saw you happy with this guy.
I just want you to check before from a good place with good intentions.
And then she turned it into a storyline to make me look bad.
So that's where I have a problem with her.
So, you know, hopefully, you know, this season we're, you'll have to watch.
You know, we're good.
We're getting there.
But, you know, I can't change people's heart and feelings and emotions, you know.
And I don't do things for the show.
So, you know, that's how I would do like in my life.
Well, and it's tough.
Then when you watch the episode, it's months after the.
and you see, okay, we just had this, you know, good moment at lunch and then the talking in the car about, you know, the, now that you're married.
Exactly. So it's, it's tough because you kind of are, there's one thing happening in the moment. And then it's like,
really, like right before the party. Because she can't help herself. That's what I'm saying. That's why I'm so like,
I'm not even going to like disappoint myself anymore because she's shown, you know, that side to her so many times to me
already that I'm not going to give it any energy. You know what I mean? I'm just going to like,
it off, brush it off, like, you know what, this is who you are. You know, you need to work on
yourself. I'm not like that. So just, you know, continue on your own. I just don't want her
to get in the way between my friendships with the other girls. Your summer starts now with

So what was going through your head at the party when Julia and Marisol kind of started to have words with each other?
Well, there were other things going through my head because my husband hadn't shown up and wasn't showing up.
It was a lot going on that day.
So, yeah, I was worried about, you know, more important.
things like my family. That's what I always worry about. And the girls can figure it out on their
own. But this is again, like White Todd really didn't want to be there either because he knew that sooner
later somebody was going to have a problem in our house again. And he didn't want to be part of that
and other reasons that you'll have to watch the show and see. But basically, they can't help
themselves, right? Like Julia starts with Marisol. Again, I was not getting involved. This is something
that Marisol and Julia have to figure out on their own, you know?
and you guys will have to watch and see whether they do or don't.
I can only give good advice.
And that's what I did.
You know, I'm trying to tell Marisol, like, you need to give her a chance.
And I'm trying to tell Julia, you need to give Marisol a chance.
Yeah, I felt like in that moment, I mean, it's tough to balance all of the relationships,
but you had just had this good conversation with Julia.
Obviously, Marisol is your closest friend on the show.
She's not going to not be there to support you, even if she wasn't happy about seeing Adriana.
So it was kind of like.
Can't we all just, can't we all just be happy for the day?
Especially for that first day, right?
That we all come together.
It's like first day of school kind of.
Exactly, right?
At least don't enjoy like your two colors yet and kind of just like, let's have a nice,
you know, let's have a nice night.
And also the guys were there.
So I feel like, you know, we put our husbands and our partners sometimes in these
situations and it makes them feel uncomfortable.
And then maybe they even have to like jump in, you know,
which is like what happened, you know, with Todd and Anthony.
kind of like jumping in for me.
So it's like, you know what?
Like I didn't want that.
You know, I was inviting the guys.
I was inviting the girls.
And I didn't want the guys to feel uncomfortable.
It was my home.
And luckily, you know, they resolved it, you know, in a way that they just kind of shut it down.
I mean, Marisol looked at me for me to jump in.
I was like, hey, I just put down my head like, don't count me on this one.
No, because you know what?
That's not what, if you have a problem with somebody, you have to resolve it.
And I'm not going to, you know,
be that person.
You know, I'm not going to be Marisol's mouthpiece.
You know, I think she can defend herself.
And she did very well, by the way.
I was very happy.
Totally.
I mean, this group has no lack of strong women and strong personalities.
So anybody can go toe to toe.
Yeah.
We all show it differently, right?
We all show it differently.
But I think you're going to see, you know, that Marisol can't defend herself.
What did you know going into that party about where Larsa and Gertie were in their friendship?
because there was, it seemed to be a little bit of confusion of now you're calling me fake,
but now you're saying you need me.
Obviously, Gertie was going through more than we knew at that point.
Right.
So, no, I mean, at this point, I knew that Larsa was upset at the fact that Gertie had gone
on a podcast or something and said that Larsa was the fakesst of them all.
And Larsa disagrees with her.
And wants Gertie, wants an explanation from Gertie, but I thought she was going to wait a little longer.
but she didn't.
She confronts Gertie and obviously Gertie is going through, you know, different personal things.
Yeah.
More important things than handled it that way.
One thing that I really love about your group is kind of when you can put aside your differences,
when somebody is really going through something tough.
We saw it last season, everybody rallying around Lisa this year.
Obviously, I'm sure Gertie is going to kind of feel that from the group.
What do you think it is that allows you all to really rise up in these moments where people
need the support more than the group drama matters.
Well, I believe that we're all good women, you know, with good hearts and we're moms and
we're daughters and we're friends and we just have a good heart and we're there for our
friends, you know, and we feel their pain when they're feeling the pain. And we could disagree
on things and insult each other, but we still love each other and we care for each other.
And the things that we've gone through hasn't been like silly things, you know, like
Gertie's had cancer. Lisa was going to.
through a horrible divorce.
And so it's like real life things that we can relate to and it can happen to us.
And that's how I see it and how I feel.
Like I'm like, this can happen to me.
And I put myself in those person's shoes.
And that's why I think that we all rally for the person and we're all there because,
you know, at the end, we all love each other and we want to help the others.
This cast, it feels like you all collectively have been through so much.
it feels like in the last, I don't know, four or five years.
It's just like everybody has their really challenging thing.
And I think it's so obviously it's tough to watch sometimes,
but it makes your group feel so real and so relatable, I think,
that everybody has those moments that they've been through,
whether it's in a relationship or a health problem or a family member.
It's a lot.
I agree with that.
And I think that that's why, you know, the audience and the viewers have really
are so hooked on our show because we've been going we've gone through a lot of things that are very
relatable and things that a lot of other women and families are going through so we either give
you the hope or you see how we handle it or you know but it's it's it's just something that um
that makes our cast so different because like you said we've had to go through a lot of things in
the last several years together i'm curious knowing how long you've been this show has been in your life
and how much that you personally have gone through over the years.
Has there ever been a moment where you felt like maybe it's time for me to get off this ride and do something else or live privately?
Like, do you find that the show is?
I think it's too late.
Wait, we can do that.
We can go back to living privately.
Do you feel like the show is kind of like an outlet that helps you overcome these things and navigate your personal journey?
That's a good question.
I actually do think so.
I think I'll be one of the few ladies from the Housewives that will say that, that I believe that.
You know, Bravo, the show has helped me.
And it's been therapeutic for me.
And I've been able to speak about a lot of things that I was ashamed about before.
And just, you know, worked on myself and like my relationships with my son and
and just with my family.
I think it's been something good for me.
Yeah.
Something positive.
I think that's, I mean, obviously there are going to be moments if you're in the
public like this and on a show like this.
It's not always going to be so easy and so perfect.
but there are so many opportunities and so many experiences that you can get from it.
And I feel like that's kind of the best way to think about it.
What I love the most are the fans because, you know, the fans, honestly, like, they live
like through you and they're living your story.
And there's so many women out there that are in the same situation we're in.
So I feel that we're sharing it.
And, you know, so I get to meet these people that say how much I helped them or how they
thought about me of this and how I inspired.
them. So to me, that's like the best part about doing the show. So, you know, I always like to focus
on the positive. And I don't think we can ever go back to being private because if you gave me
that choice, maybe I would have picked that. But I think it's too late already. And the world that
we're living in nowadays is like, who's private? Like, really? Like, everybody's on social media,
whether you're a celebrity or not. And everybody's sharing their things. Like, we're living in
a world now that we're like oversharers and everybody shares everything and everybody's open and
it's awareness and it's whatever.
So I don't know.
I think it's just like the world, you know, that we're living in.
Yeah.
And before we used to get criticized, I remember like years ago, like 15 years,
when this whole franchise thing started and the show started like, oh my God, how can
you do this?
How can you like talk about your things?
And 15 years later, I'm like, everybody's talking about everything and I get paid
and you don't.
You're like on social media on your Instagram talking and nobody cares, right?
So I'm saying like the whole world has changed.
Yeah.
So, you know, the whole ways.
that people look at, you know, the pulp culture, just like what we're talking about.
And, you know, I just think it's like an extension of the world that we're living in.
And we're just sharing it on TV.
Yeah.

I was excited to see how Larsa's bringing her relationship onto the show this season.
We're seeing Lisa in her relationship with Jody.
Like I think it's knowing that these things are happening,
whether they're on camera or not.
It's, I think it's cool to get to see, you know,
sort of the full story of what's happening.
Absolutely.
I mean, you know, luckily for Lisa,
she met, you know, a nice guy and he's willing to film and he, you know, he's very much a part of her life.
And, you know, that's what you'll get to see.
So people will tune in to see that because, you know, I'm happy for her that, you know,
she didn't meet a good person, you know, in the midst of all this, you know, craziness and,
and pain that she's had in her life.
And it's made it easier for her.
Yeah.
You know, I think it would have been a lot tougher on her if she wouldn't have had Jody.
Mm-hmm.
Do you feel like Lisa obviously has gone through?
much in the last year and a half, let's say, do you feel like her position in the group has
changed a lot because of that? Or do you think that it's kind of just been this thing that's
always going to be Lisa. Yeah. Lisa's always going to be Lisa. I don't think her position has changed,
you know, and that's what I love about her, that, you know, nobody's going to take away her zest
for life and her smile and her party energy and, you know, just that, you know, zest that she has
for life and to live and to have fun.
And that's what I love about her.
Lenny couldn't do it and nobody's going to do it.
So she still has the same position.
You know, love her for who she is, you know, just like she, you know, loves us.
And that was one thing I love.
She was here last season and it was like you would be talking about the most, you know,
complicated, upsetting thing.
And then five minutes later, it's like the jokes are on.
It's party time.
It's Lisa's world.
Like I feel like getting to see people really, you know,
you know, blossom and be like resilient through an experience like that is, I'm sure it's inspiring
to so many people too. Yeah, definitely. And we've seen you on that journey too. I mean, seeing you
with Todd and with your kids and, you know, kind of building this life for yourself. I feel like that's,
it's a journey. That's what people want to see. I mean, we're all going to fall, but it's, you know,
how fast and how strong you get up. And I think that we've all shown that, you know,
Gertie with her cancer battle now and, you know, Lisa with her divorce.
me with all my obstacles and challenges, you know, that I've had and Frankie's accident and Peter
and Herman and, you know, they just have continued. But, you know, people want to see that good
people because obviously there's always going to be haters. I'm sure there's going to be people
hating and women saying, oh, how come Lisa has a new boyfriend and I, you know, I've been divorced for
three years and I can't get whatever. Because, you know, there's always going to be those kind of
people. I'm sorry for you. Maybe that's why they don't have that because, you know, you have to
always, you know, the only way you're going to attract is by being in, you know, in a good place and
being happy and being positive. And that's when people are going to want to be with you.
I mean, nobody wants to be with somebody that's complaining and depressed and, you know, all the
time. So like Lisa says, I mean, Jody hasn't seen the best of her. Yeah. I love that she says that.
Yeah. I mean, I think that's that's like a. But I have and she's really great. I'm very happy for it. Like,
I'm really happy when all my friends are happy. And I think that deep inside we all feel the same way, you know,
about each other.
You know, we'll curse at each other and say the F word to each other.
By the way, how many times do we say the F word in that trailer?
I was like, what?
Oh my God.
We said that?
They've started putting out some of the reunion episodes for other shows.
When they put it on Peacock, it's uncensored.
And it's so funny sometimes because you don't realize how much there bleeps.
And then all of a sudden it's like this, this, this, this.
Wait, but now we're on Bravo.
Now they're going to have to like cut it out.
No, they're going to have to beep it.
No?
We can still use it.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Okay, well, anyways.
It's like, watch what happens live rules.
Yeah.
Anyways, I feel like we used it a lot this season.
But we can use, you know, say all those things to each other, but then at the end, we're there for each other.
Yeah.
I think that's kind of, that's the ideal group is you wanted to feel like there's a real thing holding you all together.
That's not, that's not just, oh yeah, like I guess we can film this season.
Like it feels like you are in each other's lives in a way that is really, you know, real and not always easy.
But always interesting.
Yes, definitely.
Looking ahead to this season, we've just seen the first episode.
How do you feel about every, like when you go through your mind and you're like,
okay, what happened this season?
Do you think it's going to be a tough season for you to watch?
Or are you kind of like bring it on?
No, I'm happy.
Yeah.
For me in particular, I'm happy about myself this season.
And I think my favorite part, like I said, was like building these friendships with a lot of
the women that probably, you know, the audience wouldn't think I would be friends with.
So, and I just think all around we have so many like, oh my God moments, you know, Mexico City,
which I hosted in Mexico City was amazing.
That's very exciting.
I feel like our group, there's always something.
Like, there's never, you know, even when we just go out to lunch or for dinner and we're like,
you know, just like five minutes later, like everybody's at it.
You know, there's always something.
Yeah.
We have a lot of those, like, bright spots, like those good moments.
moments and those oh my God moments that you guys want to watch.
Yeah, well, I certainly want to watch and I know everybody else does too.
