Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With me, Dylan Hafer.
We're going to check me, both.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention at All podcast.
We are rounding out this first real week of 2025 with lots to talk about.
And wow, this has been such a long week.
So much has happened.
Of course, we have Salt Lake City we're going to talk about.
and the reason we're recording on Friday, we have the first three episodes of the traders to talk about.
We have some other updates. The Potomac reunion, we're going to get into it. But first of all, I just want to say the situation that is happening in L.A. right now with the fires is so horrific. I feel so deeply for everyone who has been affected by that tragedy.
you know, people who have lost everything, who have lost their houses, who have lost all of their
belongings and places they made memories with their families. And it really is, it's so upsetting to see
people in that situation. We saw Bose from Real Houseways of Beverly Hills post that she lost
her house in Malibu, which represented so much that she had worked so hard for. I saw that
Yolanda Hadid's old house in in Malibu burnt down. I don't know who is living there now,
but the glass fridge, it's gone. Obviously, there are, you know, lots of celebrities and really,
you know, wealthy people that have lost their homes. It's sad that they're losing all those
memories and things, but there are also thousands and thousands of people, you know, with a lot
less resources, a lot less privilege, you know, losing lots of stuff too. So just, you know, my heart goes
out to everyone who's out there in L.A. If you are able to definitely look up ways that you can
help and contribute. And, you know, if you are in L.A., please make sure to stay safe. Evacuate if
you're supposed to. And what a way to start the year. But let's, pivoting a little bit to a topic
that is also not a lot of fun to talk about. The Real Houseways of Potomac taped their reunion
yesterday. And, you know, this season has been a little up and down. I think I've really enjoyed parts
of it. I've had some hard questions for other parts of it. But, you know, always I feel like the
reunion is a chance to kind of end things on a high note. But I am, I'm not so sure we're going
to be able to do that because Bravo has, you know, they've gotten into this routine of posting
the reunion seating charts, basically on the, on socials on the day that they're taping the
reunion. And they did post the seating chart for Potomac yesterday. And it's a little interesting
because there is somebody missing. That's somebody.
is Karen Hugar. She did not attend the reunion, and her manager, Ryan Tresdale, released a statement
explaining her absence. And this is what he said. Karen made the important decision to enter a
private recovery program, so was unable to attend the reunion taping today. She was fully supported
in this choice. We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for
taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth. So this is tricky because on the one hand,
I always want to support anyone who decides that they need help and, you know, can accept that
they are in a position where they need to make changes in their life and they are seeking out that help
and taking those important steps and, you know, recovering, whether it's substance abuse or,
you know, making poor choices or whatever.
I don't want to minimize that because I think that's really important.
And obviously, Karen Hugar has made some poor choices, and we've seen the consequences of those
poor choices.
She just a few weeks ago was found guilty on her charges from her DUI last March.
But I think the thing that is tough here, beyond just the level of like, I always want people to show up to the reunion because that's how you have a good reunion.
So that's a bummer.
But the timing of this, it's hard to really feel like there wasn't some sort of strategizing going on with this timing.
She was just found guilty a few weeks ago.
Those videos that were released, I think, were much.
more distressing than anyone really was expecting to see. She's awaiting sentencing later this month.
I'm sure she has gotten legal advice about not speaking on certain things. If she was at the reunion,
I'm sure there would have been topics where she was like, now, Andy, you know I can't talk about that.
So were my expectations high for how much Karen was going to come into the reunion and really be
open and honest and completely clearheaded about all of that stuff? Not particularly,
but I think the fact that she's not going to be there at all is really going to,
it's going to put everyone else in a weird place because it's going to feel like this elephant
in the room that you have to sort of speak to and address.
But when Karen's not there to hear it or to weigh in on it,
is there really anything to be gained from,
from Andy and Giselle and Wendy being like, yep, it was, those videos were bad.
I don't know.
I mean, of course, I hope Karen as well. I hope that she is, you know, making those tough choices,
but that DUI happened in March of last year. And we saw her film a whole season defiant and adamant
that she was going to be vindicated and that she, you know, she wasn't going to talk about it because
she was waiting for her day in court. That day came and it did not pan out well for her. So, you know,
maybe this was the rock bottom she needed to hit to go get help, but it's tough.

Portia Williams commented on the post
Where's Karen?
I hope that their season can end
on a good note.
Obviously they have other stuff to talk about at the reunion.
It's not like it's only the Karen show, but it's tough.
It's unfortunate.
And I don't know.
It just leaves a weird taste in the mouth.

Traders is back.
And I was a little uncertain.
After the high highs of season two of Traders,
all of the iconic
Fadre moments
and MJ
and you know
some of our new friends that maybe we didn't know as well
you know CT in the castle
Trishel just being the worst
it was a great season of traders
and so season three I think
the expectations are very high
and whenever you have high expectations
it's not a given that it's going to live up to them
and so when I sat
down to watch those first three episodes of traders, I was like, okay, we're going to be keeping an open
mind. We're going to be enjoying things, you know, as they come. And maybe it'll be iconic. Maybe it'll be
great. But maybe it won't. And even if it's not, we can still have a good time with it. And these first
three episodes, I think there's a lot to like. I don't want to, I think it's too soon to say.
whether it is going to live up to the heights of last season.
But I think that the casting team on this show is the best in the business.
I think they did a great job putting together another really interesting collection of people.
And I am going to spoil stuff that happens in these first three episodes of Traders.
So if you haven't watched yet, this is your beep, beep, beep warning to go, you know, catch up or, you know, get over it.
I don't want to get, I don't want to see.
a fucking one-star iTunes review that's like, you're spoiled traitors. It's been out for 13 hours as I'm
recording this and it'll be out for longer by the time it's out. Just go watch it. Just go watch it.
What are you waiting for? So I was a little surprised. The traders for this season,
before the Boston Robb, you know, fuckery that happens after the initial selection,
Bob the Drag Queen, Daniel Reyes from Big Brother, and Carolyn from Survivor.
Now, I am a Survivor watcher, but I missed some seasons.
I did not watch Carolyn's initial season.
I know that she is like iconic among the Survivor watching gaze.
So I like her energy.
She seems a little kooky, a little chaotic.
I'm into that.
Daniel Reyes, I'm not loving her energy.
I am not a big brother person. Big brother to me, if you're a big brother super fan, I fully support and
respect that. And like, it is a, it is a commitment and dedication that I have realized is not for me.
And I just find that the big brother players don't tend to really like spark joy for me when they're
on traders. There's just something about, like, the way.
they view themselves as like gamers and like, you know, strategic, like social players.
I just am kind of like, can you shut up? We get it. Everybody here has some unique skill set.
You being on Big Brother for 55 days and it doesn't do anything for me. And Danielle's energy,
I'm not sure I'm loving.
I think that she and Bob the drag queen are both doing like a little too much and, you know, seeing Danielle at breakfast on whatever, episode three, when she's like, oh my God, oh my God. It's, yeah, yeah. Oh, ooh, ooh, oh, Bob. Bob was saying that. Bob, oh, oh, oh. If I was like, if I was one of the other traders, I'd be like, girl, shut up.
do less.
That is, I mean, it's the hard thing about being a traitor is that you're, you're stuck in this castle
for day after day after day having to like act chill.
So I don't know that I would want to be a traitor, but I think that Danielle's not doing a great job.
And then Bob, I think is just, he's like bringing this intensity that I think is good for TV.
And Bob is like such a great entertainer, such a great personality.
but like if I was in the castle with him,
if I was Dylan Ephron trying to have the pilot Pete at it this season,
I'd be like, this guy's a traitor, obviously.
Maybe watching the show, I have some like, you know, obviously we have,
we know that they're traitors, so it's not like hard to think,
but maybe if you're in the castle, it's less obvious.
I just think that the traders so far this season are not doing a great,
job of
dispelling any suspicion
about them.
Like Boston Rob hasn't really gotten it yet
because he, you know, he came in
late, he was safe the first night, whatever.
I think he's like hanging back a little bit.
And Carolyn, I don't really think has been on people's radar.
But, but Bob and Danielle, I'm like,
ladies, we got a
we got to buckle down a little bit. This is going to be a long
season. It's like day two.
and you're doing the most.
But the biggest,
the biggest loss,
and I really mean,
I really mean it's the loss,
is that the first person murdered
of this season,
the first person sent out of the castle,
Durinda Medley.
Now, I'm not saying
that the production team
should have rigged this in any way,
or, you know, messed with the ballots or the process or, you know, we want free and fair elections.
I feel that to my core.
But Derinda Medley going home first on this season of the Traders, that is sick and twisted.
That is, in the words of Heather DeBrow, low-base bullshit.
when they announced this cast who was the person that we were most excited to see who we thought
was going to give us iconic moments, angry outbursts, delusional, strategic thinking, you know, hilarious.
You know, she's, she makes it nice.
She practically lives in the Traders Castle at her house in the Berkshires.
Derinda was one of as certainly as a Bravo fan,
which who's not a Bravo fan,
we're among friends here.
She was the person that I was most excited to see this season,
and we barely got to see her at all.
We got to see her sitting on the raft with Dolores in the first mission
because they sacrificed themselves.
And now looking back, I'm like,
God damn, Derinda, you should have stayed on that boat.
it's depressing. It's upsetting. It's, frankly, galling. I don't know really what the strategy was behind getting rid of her so soon. I mean, I guess the traitors were thinking that if they murdered a housewife, they would think there was another housewife that was a traitor. But then they also, they murdered Chanel.
on second. You think that if Dolores is a traitor, she's going to be picking off the housewives
one by one? What would that do for her? Robin Dixon doesn't have that much of a strategic brain.
She's just trying to eat the food and not work hard in the challenges. I just don't, I don't
even care from a strategic perspective. It's just like they should have figured out a way for us
to get more Derinda on this season. And maybe they will. I mean, people have
come back, maybe she could resurface. You know, they're, they're clearly tinkering with the strategy
here and with the gameplay. And that is something that I actually, I am not the most invested person
when it comes to the actual logistics of the strategy and the gameplay. I know there are some people
that think really hard about that. And they're like, well, actually, Traders is a flawed show when you
think about it. I'm not that deep into the like competitive show lore. I'm like, I'm either having
fun watching it or I'm not. But they are making some changes this season, starting with these three
players that they bring in after the initial, you know, arrival at the castle. One of whom is
Boston Rob, who they do this weird thing where like right when they get to the castle, they're like,
um, if anybody wants to, you know, go pick Rob to join the castle and then somebody else can get a
photo out. It's like, what? We're doing too much. But then Rob and these other two clowns, Wes and
Wes and what's his name? Derek from Big Brother and the challenge, I'm like, who cares?
But whatever, a lot of people care, I'm sure. But they're like strapped up in these cages
up in the tree and they have to find coins on the ground and put them in the slot. And if they
make it to the bottom, all three of them make it. And this is something I, something with the
traders is like, we have to, we have to be real about whether these missions are real or not.
Like, we're contributing to the prize pot. We're winning shields. We're bringing new people into
the game. And it feels like they always win every challenge, every mission. And I feel like at
some point, we need some actual stakes because it's like there can be 10 seconds on the
and they're only halfway done, and then miraculously, they pull out the victory every time.
They get the money into the prize pot.
They're not flying Rob and Derek and West out to Scotland, and then having them only appear in
those cages for two minutes, and then they don't get to join the game.
Nope, they're all in the game.
Sure, whatever.
Put Dorinda in a cage.
Let her hang up there for a few days and then bring her back.
But so they're doing that.
They're like bringing extra players in, you know, in episode three, the cliffhanger is that, you know, instead of just murdering a player like normal, they have to put, you know, three names on the scroll of people that are going to be like eligible for murder and then they're going to have to get in coffins and they're going to put a nail. It's like, I enjoy the theatrics of it all because like every time you give Alan a new thing to explain, he's going to like eat that shit up. But I am a little bit like, just give me back Durinda.
I promise this isn't how I'm going to be the whole season.
Like, I'm not just going to spend the whole season being like, if only Derinda was here,
because there are a lot of great people in this cast.
First of all, I am loving the energy from Gabby Windy of The Bachelor, Bachelorette fame.
I love that in the first episode, you know, everybody's getting to know each other.
Obviously, they haven't all watched the respective shows they've been on.
And when somebody's like, oh, how did the Bachelorette end up for you?
and she's like, well, I'm a lesbian now.
You tell him.
She and Crischel, queer girlies.
I love Chrisel's energy, too.
At the first roundtable when she tells Tom Sandoval that he made her uncomfortable with his spock eyebrow.
I'm like, yes, girl.
Vote for him because he makes you uncomfortable.
Not because you think he's a traitor.
Just because you don't like the guy.
I appreciate that.
Chrisel and Gabby, I think, are doing a great job.
But I also think getting back to our Bravo sisters, I think Sierra could have like a sneaky good season on Traders.
Because she's somebody that I'm sure there are a lot of people watching this show that are like, who is this?
What is Summer House?
I don't, I don't really know who this random, you know, she's cute.
What's up?
But Sierra, A, she's funny.
She has this dry humor, this wit that I think the longer she's,
she stays in the castle, the more probably moments she's going to get on the show. And I think
people are really going to like kind of her personality. She can read a bitch. She can be funny.
She can be sassy. I think that lends itself well to this show. She also is a smart person.
Need I remind you that she has been billed as nurse slash model on Summer House for like five years.
But she just is like, I think she can read people pretty well. I think she has good social.
social skills. She is clearly getting along with a lot of the other people in the game so far,
but also, like, I think she probably isn't taking this too seriously, which is a good thing.
But I think Sierra, if she, if she's able to hang around through the next kind of couple rounds
of eliminations and stuff, I think that this could be, like, a big boost for her, like,
profile-wise, because the only, like, when Kyle Cook was on this show, it was season one,
nobody was paying attention.
I'm excited for Sierra.
I think she's going to do well.
I'm not loving the energy from Dylan Ephron.
I mentioned that before.
I feel like he's trying to go for that pilot Pete.
Like he's that like righteous, faithful who like he's like going after you because he
it's like, oh, it's like wrong to be a traitor.
Bro, it's a game.
It's not that deep.
Brittany Spears's ex Sam Asgari.
I feel like he's gotten no screen time in the first.
three episodes. I can't really figure out why he's there and I have a feeling he feels the same way.
I don't know. I hope he's not one of those people that kind of just hangs around until the end because
nobody cares about him. But we'll see. And then there's the royal guy, Ivor, Lord Iver,
Mountbatten. So he's like a 61-year-old gay kind of royal chic. I don't know. I mean,
he really feels like, you know, they're trying to run back the cast.
from last season when everybody was so into John Burkow.
And he's like a little bit of a different flavor of like wealthy old British man.
But I'm kind of into it.
I'm liking it.
A wild card for me so far.
Nikki Garcia, aka Nikki Bella, like the Bella twins.
It's like funny because everybody knows them as the Bella twins,
but that was their like WWE brand like wrestling.
her name, so they, I think they, like, can't use that name anymore. So they, like, rebranded back to
their real name, which is Garcia. So now it's Nikki Garcia, not Nikki Bella. Don't call her
Nikki Bella. But she, I feel like we haven't gotten a lot out of her so far, but I feel like she,
I mean, she's like a wrestling superstar. She's been on multiple different shows. Like, I feel like
she, she knows how to, like, play a game and bring the personality.
and I'm curious what we're going to get from her.
I feel like there's more to come.
In terms of, I feel like the other Bravo people,
Tom Sandoval, like I said,
getting dragged by Creschelle,
kind of getting dragged by Allen.
I don't know what Tom Sandoval's shelf life is on this game
because I don't really feel like anybody,
does anybody care about him?
This might be the last time we ever see him on TV.
And then Dolores and Robin,
you know,
our other two housewives Ayan and Durinda have already been murdered, unfortunately.
Dolores, I think, could have a good season.
Because she is one of those people where I think people will see her as a faithful kind of person.
And so they won't be quick to sort of throw suspicion onto her.
That being said, there clearly is like a housewives thing on this show where people from outside the Bravo world
see the housewives as, whether they see them as threats or whether they just like don't want to
play with them, I don't really know. Because getting rid of Derinda and Ayan first, first of all,
like, it doesn't feel strategic. But also it just is like, there are 20 people here. Pick anybody else.
I'm surprised that I am surprised that there's no Bravo person as a traitor.
because, I mean, statistically, there were like six Bravo Lebrities on this show.
And none of them are traitors.
Makes you think, I don't know.
I'm excited for this season, though.
The first three episodes are really good.
If you've listened this far and you haven't watched them, I don't know why you did that.
But if you haven't watched, go and watch.
We'll be keeping up.
You know, the episodes are coming out every Thursday night.
Like, they come out 9 p.m. on Thursday on Peacock.
So the schedule of talking about it on the podcast might be a little wonky, because obviously we usually record on Thursdays.
But we will definitely keep checking in throughout the season.
There will be lots of content on Bravo by Betches and all over social media.
So it's going to be a fun season.
And I am excited.
I think that these first three episodes definitely do enough to keep people interested and excited and, you know, checking to see what happens next.
And we will do the same.

Oh, now, with the time we have left, we got to talk about.
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City because they are back, back with a vengeance from the holiday
break. And this trip to Puerto Vallarta is so crazy. Like, so, I just can't, the directions
that this has gone in, it's so wild that this entire episode hinged on the moment of Brittany
on this printer van, getting caught, making a video recording on her phone, filming
the back of her seat. And immediately, I think Heather is the first one that notices, or maybe
Angie, I think it's Angie is the first one that notices. And all of a sudden, it is like World War
3 on this bus. Because they think that it seems like Brittany is making a recording of them
arguing on the bus. Now, what's crazy to me is I don't think we actually get a definitive
answer of how much she recorded if she, you know, was sending it to anyone, you know,
she's like, oh, well, I didn't send it to anyone. They're like, well, what about you're deleted?
You're going to deleted it. But like the way, just the way that these women react, just from the
idea that Brittany is recording them on the bus, I have never seen Meredith Marks so just like,
like heated beyond.
It's like she's been kept in a cage for a year and is like spring loaded and the second
the door opens, she just is going to like pop out and like rip your head off on this bus.
And the way that they have, I love this.
Like on the sprinter, obviously they have to put like some different camera angles because
they're, they can't have like a full camera crew on the bus.
but whoever put that camera on the ceiling, like basically right in front of Meredith's chair
at the back of the bus, chef's kiss give them a damn Emmy.
Because the angle that we get of Meredith basically like with her forehead in the camera,
screaming at Britney that she needs to get out, they're on a moving.
bus in the middle of Mexico driving to like an ATV thing in the jungle.
And I think Meredith would have thrown her off the side of the road at that point.
And Mary Cosby's like, get her, Meredith.
It is wild to me.
Now, do I think that Brittany should be recording her friends?
No.
But the way that it's just like any scrap of anything about Brittany.
they're going off.
And the other piece of this, of course, the first thing that came into my mind is that these
women are literally filming a TV show.
They are all wearing microphones.
And so my first thought is like, okay, so she might be recording you, but you know,
that there's like everything you say is literally being like fed into a microphone wire
that's going into some cloud somewhere. I don't know how that works. You're being recorded.
Now, I guess the difference is, well, first of all, they're not always being recorded.
And, you know, just before this in the episode, we have Bronwyn coming to Lisa's room the
night before and is letting her know that she was part of a conversation where meme things were
said about her. It seems like this conversation wasn't filmed. And so in theory, if Britney's
present for interactions and things that aren't on camera and she's recording then,
that would open people up to increased liability. But when they're on the bus, I mean, I guess
you can assume that things are going to be edited and cut out, but like the raw audio, the full
unabridged exists somewhere.
Somebody has that on a hard drive.
Somebody has that in their eye cloud.
And just as easily,
some unhinged Bravo fan account could like,
I don't know,
hack into the,
you know,
shed media computers and publish the full tapes.
I mean,
if you're wearing a microphone pack,
you should not be saying anything
that you don't want to be put on TV.
But I think the idea is that
they feel like they can't trust
Britney because there seems to be this kind of ulterior motive there. And I guess, you know,
this is coming the season after the reality von T's of it all, so their guards are up a little bit
more. I don't know. I mean, do I think that Brittany was probably doing or planning to do anything
nefarious with a recording that she might have made on the sprinter van? Like, probably not.
to be honest, I don't think she like has that in her.
She's not Monica Garcia.
She's just not.
But also like, I think that she is in a position with this group where like,
sister, you got to use your brain.
You have to like, you have to dot your eyes and cross your teas a little bit more and like not be doing this shit that can even be construed that way.
Because you're a friend of if you want to stay.
on this show. I know that you're making an announcement every time the group is together, but
clearly nobody cares that much about the announcements. You need to be working on like actually forming
relationships with these people. And I do think it's interesting like at the lunch post-ATV rides
when her latest announcement is that she lied about that she and Jared Osmond have a physical
relationship. And, you know, the sort of gut reaction from a few people at the table is like, I mean,
Duh, I assumed, but thank you.
I do think there is a real thing there that is worth unpacking that because of her, you know,
religious background and her family and, you know, her upbringing and everything,
that it actually is a big deal to admit that.
But she's admitting that to deflect away from this conversation about whether or not they can trust her
and whether or not she was recording them.
So it does feel like I would be a lot more inclined to care about what she has going on in her personal life
if it didn't feel like she was sort of like deploying these announcements to kind of be like,
oh, look, something shiny is happening over here.
Let's not talk about the way that I just kind of like ruined something else.
But you know what?
I am grateful for everything that happened to that ATV day.
because it gives us the opportunity later in the episode to see this absolutely unhinged scene
where Meredith decides that, you know what, Brittany said earlier that she heard me in my room
and I was having this coughing fit and she thinks that that meant I was throwing up.
But I can't hear anything from anyone else's room.
So that must mean that Brittany has some sort of listening,
recording wiretapping device in my hotel room. So Heather, get in here. We're going to look.
The visual of Meredith, like, checking under the bed to see if Britney Bateman has bugged her
villa room in Mexico, that is something I never thought I would see. And I am so glad that I have,
but, like, truly so stupid, just the dumbest. And I mean that in the best way. The dumbest. The dumbest.
thing. Also, like, I don't want to be rude, but, like, Meredith, we know that your hearing
isn't the best. We've talked about this now. It's a thing. So if you can't hear Heather from your
room, that might not indicate that Brittany couldn't hear you from hers. Just a thought. I don't
know. But Salt Lake, I mean, they, they just are going to do it every time. And I'm so sad that next week is
already the season finale because they've given us so much. And I know that it would be selfish to ask
for more. But like, I'm going to miss them. I'm going to miss them. We're probably not going to
have Salt Lake back. I mean, not like this is crazy, but, you know, they'll probably be back later
this year. But it's sad that our time with them is running so short. And I'm going to miss them.
That's just call it like I see it. But thank you so much for listening, everyone. This has really been
an action-packed week. We will be back on Monday. I have an interview with Jessel Tank from Real
Hustlers of New York. And you know, I've been hard on this season. I've been up and down on this
season. But I think Jessel was the perfect person to talk to. We got in
to fan response to this season. We talked about the pregnancy prank that everyone hated.
And lots more. I think it was a great conversation. So even if you're sort of cold on Roney right
now, please check it out on Monday. I think it's a good episode. And then we'll be back with
much more later next week. Thank you so much for listening. Until next time, be cool. Don't be
all like uncool. Mention It All is produced by Dylan Hafer, Sean Kilby, Jorge Morales-Picco,
