Girl, winter is so last season.
And now spring's got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs.
You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sundress.
Those sandals you can wear all day and all night.
And you've had enough of shopping from your couch.
Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope.
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.

A Bravo by Betches podcast
We don't say that but now we said it
With Dylan Hafer
And Barry Rosenfeld
I need to start drinking alcohol
Now go to sleep we
Hey everyone
Welcome back to another episode of the
Mention at All podcast
I'm Dylan Hafer
And I'm Barry Rosenfeld
And welcome to our first episode
Of 2020
21.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
We made it.
Happy New Year.
Do you say 2021?
I don't know if I've heard anyone say it that way.
It feels so like formal.
How do you say it?
How do you say it?
2021.
How do you say it?
2021?
Yeah.
I, to me like, what was the year?
I guess like 2012, 2012, 2011.
I think I said 2010.
I don't know.
Well, okay, so I know what you're saying, but I feel like for right, I did it right now because it was like an announcement. So it was like an extraordinary thing. It's like a, the court decree. It's like 2000.
Like it would be so sad if I was like our first episode of 2021. Like I need some. The year of our Lord, Andy Cohen, 2021.
Yeah. So we have.
a new episode of Real Hostiles of Atlanta to talk about today.
It feels weird to not have Potomac on a Sunday night.
It feels like it's been such a, such a journey, and now it's over.
Right.
So I, last night, I was like, so pumped for Atlanta.
And because I was like, oh, we only have one show.
Not that I'm ever complaining about our Bravo shows, but I was like, who, it feels like a vacation.
But I'm, it's like 758.
And I was like, no, Atlanta's at nine because my phone would tell me.
And it's not.
It was at eight.
Yeah.
So I'm curious.
I know last year they kind of like switched the time halfway through the season.
I don't know what they have up there.
Steve.
We also tomorrow we have the Real Housewives of Dallas season premiere.
They showed it early on New Year's Eve.
I was like thinking about watching it and then I was like, I don't actually want to pay attention right now.
But we will be talking about that on Thursday along with all of our other shows this week.
We have a full schedule now.
There's so much happening, even though Potomac is over.
I'm also hoping that once.
Once OC ends, Salt Lake City moves up a time slot as well.
Let's manifest that.
I don't, okay, I guess OEC will end first.
I think Salt Lake City is like a 13 episode season and then they'll have a reunion.
So I don't know how much they won't overlap, but then February, we should have Jersey.
I'm so excited.
And Summerhouse.
There's a lot.
There's a lot happening.
Guys, whenever anyone lets you down, Bravo.
is here to lift you up. Oh my god.
How that was like a most of the time, yes.
That should be on Pinterest, that quote.
Okay. So let's get into Real House of Atlanta.
Our first new Bravo episode of 2021,
we,
so we basically pick up where we left off last episode,
which is Cynthia is being a nightmare about her wedding.
And I,
at the beginning of the episode,
I was like,
should I do like a drinking game where I drink every time they say 10, 10, 10.
20. And then within 30 seconds,
I was like, I cannot do that to my body or my life or my or my week.
You know, it's not going to at work.
Drinking games always seem like a fun idea because it's like, oh, like I'll drink a little bit.
But then when you think about your rules like last night, you're like, wait, that's not going to be fun anymore.
Like tomorrow's Monday of a new year of 2021.
And like, I can't be hung over for that.
That's too much.
Maybe.
Yes.
Oh, my God.
So we have this yoga class with Cynthia and Mallory and Kenya, and they do their yoga in their face shields, which I guess we've decided are sufficient protection on Bravo shows.
I don't know how I feel about that.
Okay.
So I just need to make a call out about the face shields really quick because this seems like something.
It's very funny to be watching on Atlanta because this is something production gave them.
Like they all have the.
same face shield and at least not all of them, at least one of them is wearing it in each scene.
So the face shields with it's like with the glasses attached so you don't have to put it around your
hair. It is honestly it looks like a nice face shield, but I want to reiterate that that is not
the same thing as wearing a mask. I get for certain scenes why that kind of makes sense because
if they've been tested and are together, whatever. But we're going to get to it later. But Ralph and
Drew have this couples therapy and the the therapist is wearing a non-Bravo issue face mask that
doesn't even cover her mouth. She's wearing it as a visor. She lifted it up. It's not funny.
It's like, why couldn't anyone at that moment been like, can you put that down? That's what
it's for. Just put it down. Ma'am. Okay. So dialing it back for a second, I got too excited about
the face shield. So we're at yoga. The yoga class lasts about 30 seconds. And then they just start
talking about Cynthia's wedding and they're they're telling Kenya about kind of what went wrong when
they were at the venue. And Kenya, for the second episode in a row, is really seeming to be kind of
a voice of reason here. And she calls out that it seems like Cynthia is really focused on having this
big wedding and having it filmed. And it's interesting because right away, they're talking about
this fourth wall breaking thing of you want to have your wedding on the show. And I was just not
expect. I wasn't prepared for that. And I thought it was a really interesting dynamic that they
created right away. See, I thought we were going to start the new year off by not doing that,
by not mentioning that we're on a show. And I kind of, it is fun to watch once in a while because
you're not expecting it like you last night, you weren't expecting it. But I don't appreciate it.
like all it's been way too frequently lately and I know they don't know like they don't plan on it but it's like no we're filming this pretending we're not on a show if that makes it's a it's a fine line for sure I do think like I don't want them to get into a habit where like every conversation takes the turn to where they're talking about filming but it is I think when Cynthia is going back and forth and saying all this contradictory stuff about her when
and she cares about having the big wedding or she cares about the date or she just cares about
marrying Mike. She can't get her story straight. And then in this case, I do think it is relevant
to the conversation that they're having on screen that it's like, okay, but you also, part of the
reason you don't want to move the date is because then we won't be filming. And it's,
we're like, here's the thing about Kenya. She's a strong housewife, one of the strongest. She always has been.
something feels weird to me that she it always happens something always comes to a head on every
franchise every main housewife do you think her time is coming i know i know you're because she
just seems to not be on the same page as anybody she's kind of searching for something going on
and like i will say i think i think it will be very telling to see how her
party next episode plays out.
So we have this.
She's planning this party and she meets with candy and she's,
you know,
telling candy about all of Cynthia's wedding planning bullshit.
And then she says that she is planning a party for Cynthia an engagement party,
which is like they got engaged a year ago,
but okay.
I had to write this down verbatim in my phone.
She's planning a surprise engagement party.
next Friday hosted by Candy.
It doesn't make, there's so much wrong.
Right. So she, she basically tells, tells Candy that she needs her to pretend to host the party
so that everyone will actually come to the party, which is like, brings me back, brings me back
to Exhibit A that I just, that I just mentioned.
This episode is brought to you by Prime.
Obsession is in session.

Your next obsession is waiting.
Watch only on Prime.
The editors are so funny.
They show this graphic on the screen because she's like, well, who wouldn't,
come if I invited them and they put an X over Portia's face.
They put an X over like half of the faces in the castagna's not going to come.
Marla's not going to come.
I thought this was hilarious.
Well, here's the thing.
I've brought this up before about parties on these shows.
She's hosting a party next Friday.
That's not how it works.
Yeah.
You need and I love how like even other other shows, they're like call to invite people and they're like, hey,
I'm having a party.
It's this Saturday.
Can you come?
What do you?
that's not how you tell it's you have to plan it i feel like sometimes production must like
make them like blackout dates on their calendar and be like okay there's gonna be something this
saturday like you will be filming but like we'll tell you later okay but fast forward just because
we're talking about this party and candy does in fact do her due diligence and invites the
other girls in front of cynthia i was like wait candy is my girl i cannot even explain it
She just like is her personality is so funny in the fact that she's just there, but she knows she like runs shit.
She does no wrong.
She's like, hey, girls, can you come to a surprise party?
You too, Cynthia.
But I can't tell you what it's for and we're all white.
I think this surprise is that the party is for Cynthia.
Like I don't think she's, I don't think Cynthia is like not supposed to know there's a party.
But like, Dylan, if I was planning you, no, listen, if I was planning a surprise part,
party for you. But in the office, I was like, we're all together. And I was like, hey, guys,
everyone come to this thing. But you don't know it's for you, but you're at that table sitting
with me. You don't want, that's not fun. Like you want to know anything. You want to just show up
to drinks with me. You don't want to like. I do think like I kind of am on Candies page with this
that I, I haven't been in this exact situation. Clearly, it's a, you know, like that shit crazy
situation. But it's the thing of like when a friend is like, hey, I need your help with this.
And all of a sudden they're acting like you're totally like in on the plan. And I'm like,
no. The only reason I'm involved in this is because you told me about it. Like I don't, I'm not like
an active co-conspirator. Like leave me alone. And I didn't ask for this. I didn't ask for the
responsibility. No. Because now, because now you just know that everybody's going to show up to this
party and Kenya's going to be there and be like, hi guys. No, that was so funny.
At least two people at this party are going to be like,
okay, hi Kenya.
But here, we're seeing it, I'm sorry, I can't stop thinking about it now that I have this in my head.
We've seen, once the whole cast is not your friend, it's hard to work backwards and get them all to be on the same page as you.
But, um, we, yeah, this whole, I don't know.
I don't know.
I'm excited to see where this goes because we still have an entire season.
We know more drama is coming.
but like this party is is I don't know it's not going to be fun I don't think it's going to be fun but we have to talk about this party at Porsche's house that Lauren threw for her because it involves more Kenya drama and it's I have to know your feelings about it because of something Lauren posted last night so oh I didn't I didn't see what Lauren posted last so so Lauren threw together a party for Porsche which was very nice it was celebrating her and what she's done for the program
protests and seeing Porsche's reaction was actually really emotional when she got there.
I thought this was lovely.
I totally, I agree with Portia when she shows up and she's like, I don't need you to throw
me a party.
That's not why I'm doing this.
But I think you could tell that it really meant a lot to see that these women kind of
understood what she was doing and were being supportive of what she's doing.
And I think she, you know, for them to show her that they, you know, see it and support it,
that inspires her to then kind of even share the message even more of like we all should be
getting involved in this.
Like I think it kind of, Porsche's, you know, the more kind of her platform grows and becomes
stronger.
I think, you know, the more good stance to be done.
I thought this was a lovely event.
I like that they had like all the posters and stuff like set up in the driveway.
And then Portia's like, so like, what are we?
What are we doing?
Wait, but you know.
know, I wonder, did you see this?
Portia's body language during this party?
I kind of understood where she was coming from.
She felt, I felt it through the TV that she felt kind of uncomfortable and awkward.
And even though it was at her own house and it was for her, she even said she understood
why, but she was like, I'm doing this.
Like, I don't want to be praised.
I'm doing this just because like, this is what I do.
And you can tell she would like, felt weird that it was like, I don't know how to feel.
Is it a party?
Is it a celebration?
should we be happy, you know?
And then she was like, I guess I should say something.
And she stood up and like, and you know, with Pilar, who is so fucking cute.
Oh my God.
And made a speech.
But I thought it was a lovely like evening.
It wasn't over the top with people there.
You know, it was just her close friends.
I think Portia did a good job of kind of, you know, obviously it was a surprise.
I think she handled it well and then kind of like was able to spin it in a way that still was
actually impactful, not just like a yay me.
Yeah.
So we should talk about Kenya, who was not there.
So Lauren is calling everyone to do the invites, and she calls Cynthia.
And Cynthia asks if Kenya is invited.
And Lauren says that she's not inviting Kenya because Kenya hasn't seen Portia.
They didn't, you know, leave off on good terms.
And as they always do on these shows, Cynthia's like, well, can I bring her as a plus one?
And Lauren's like, okay, I guess you sure.
Just tell her to be on her best behavior.
Right. And then later, the day of the event, Lauren changes her mind and Cynthia calls Kenya and it's like, hey, so about the party, you are no longer invited, sorry. And Kenya is, I think, understandably really upset. She's already in hair and makeup. She's like angry at the production that's at her house and is like, did you know about this? And okay, I do feel like I understand why Lauren didn't want Keny.
at this event, but she should have just said no in the first place.
Correct.
So, of course, I'm like so dumb and didn't screenshot it because I thought I could just remember
what she said, which I do, but I'm just, I could have read it verbatim.
But I agree in the sense where like she should have made a decision right away.
But when Kenya got the call that she wasn't invited, Lauren saying she, that was 24 hours.
She knew she wasn't invited like 24 hours before the party, not an hour before the party.
like so I don't know if that was something with production if that was if she didn't get the call if someone didn't call her but Lauren said she made the decision like with more than enough time for her not to not to like be that upset did Cynthia like forget to I know right that's so weird but here's the thing when when Kenya was like did you guys know about this like asking production in what world would production be like yeah Kenya we knew you were getting the call that's not
for them to say like they can imagine heads up kenya we're going to ruin this episode because
you're actually not invited the camera if they say yes like i don't know i i do it's the kind of thing
where i totally see both sides i understand totally the decision not to have her there but it's
just like it it i don't because i also feel i feel for kenya because it sucks to be uninvited
from anything and especially when you have this she had a gift for pilar because she had missed her
birthday. She was already basically like getting ready to go. Like that sucks. It's like getting
canceled on the date like 30 minutes before. It sucks because number one, if you knew you weren't
going to invite someone, it's so much less harsh on their feelings to just not be invited.
That's so like it. It's really sad. No matter if you like Kenya or don't like Kenya or anyone,
remember it happened to James Kennedy multiple times. You don't like being uninvited from something.
And I just thought it was weird for this particular event because what was Kenya going to do?
We're going there to like celebrate Portia.
Like Kenya wasn't going to do anything at this part.
As much as I appreciate the montage of everything that Kenya has done at other people's
events, I think this most likely would have been a safe space.
My favorite.

Use us directed.
Okay, so I want to talk about Drew, who we've barely spoken about this episode.
And so we have this one big scene with her couple's therapy,
and then we have another scene where she shares that Ralph's father passed away.
but I feel like Drew, I don't know if I like her yet because I feel like she's on an island.
Like we've barely seen her.
We've seen a lot of her in Ralph already.
And I was thinking at this party for Portia, Drew wasn't there.
And I was actually kind of doing some like mental housewives math.
And this was the first scene of the season that Portia was in with any other full-time cast members.
So we don't know if she's seen Kenya or Can you.
or Cynthia recently.
And as far as we know, she and Drew have probably never even met.
And it's weird because it's like we're four episodes into the season.
It's not, I mean, it's early, but it's not like the first week.
And we like the whole cast, including Marlowe and Tanya and Fallon and Latoya.
Like everyone is at the whole kind of expanded cast is at this event other than Kenya, obviously,
other than Drew.
And it's like...
Well, I'm sure, I know what you're saying.
I am sure they just got to
wheel, like,
make her, like, squeeze in somewhere
because I don't think that they were going to introduce her
to everybody, like, at this particular event at Portia's house.
Yeah, it's like, when I, when you put it on paper,
it's like, I get why she wasn't there.
But it's like, it seems odd that we're four episodes into the season.
And we have...
And we've just seen her.
marriage therapy. And we have, I mean, there are only five housewives this season and they haven't
all been in the same place. Even we haven't had more than three of them in the same place.
Right. Well, we have to talk about two other newbies who are Fallon and Ton, Fallon and
Latoya because whoa, my jaw dropped to the floor. You know what I'm going to say. We're at this,
at Portia's house. And Fallon is, first of all, I can't even, she is so gorgeous.
it's not fair and she is saying how she has kids like her husband is five she has three so with
them she has eight and and letoya just looks at her which i think they've met if anything one time
or not at all and she goes is he older you look like you're you date older guys with money and
i was like oh i out loud i was like oh my god wild it's it's funny because i think it was
Cynthia said that she was like Kenya on steroids
and that is absolutely the kind of thing
Keni. Candy.
That is absolutely the kind of thing Kenya would say
in a public setting like this
the first or second time she's met someone.
She would be like, I bet you're like older guys.
I couldn't believe that. She said that.
She was not joking.
It was intense. And I think Latoya,
we haven't gotten a lot of kind of
a lot of like deeper moments with her yet.
But she seems very much like the kind of person
who is going to put it all out there and like kind of likes to fuck with people.
Like she did that with Drew too.
So.
Yes.
But in a setting of women you don't know yet and talking about someone's marriage like that,
that's like embarrassing for Fallon.
I don't know.
It was just, wow.
That was.
Yeah.
It was weird.
And Fallon, I mean, she didn't know really any of these women very well.
Like we haven't seen her other than that scene with like Portia and Tanya.
We don't know that she really knows anyone there.
Yeah, she did that awkward.
Hi, and like a lean-in and a kiss.
And I was like, no, no, don't do that.
And it's COVID and you don't know them anyway.
So just don't worry about it.
This party is, it's stretching my like suspension of disbelief that everyone's being safe.
Because it's like, it's like all of these women who like very vaguely know each other.
It's one thing when it's like, Candy and Kenya are hugging.
And it's like, oh, yeah, like they're friends.
Like, they're in like some kind of a bubble.
And it's like, Fallon's not in the bubble.
Like, what's going on?
And we're like kissing strangers on the cheek.
But I want Fallon to be in the bubble because I appreciate her.
I like Fallon.
I'm intrigued by her.
We don't know enough yet to really like, I don't know enough to like her or dislike her or whatever.
But I'm intrigued.
Yeah, there's a lot of little stuff going on.
I feel like next week's dinner with Kenya is kind of hopefully going to pull everything together for the first time this season.
Yeah, but we also have to mention the last few minutes of the episode what Kenya was saying about Porsche.
And yeah, that was a bit of an eye roll where she claims she's getting, is it weird that Porsche's got arrested on camera like both times?
And I was like, no, no, no.
The protests were happening whether the Bravo cameras were there or not.
Kenya is the kind of person where I, that's what I'm talking about.
I love her. I love her as a housewife, like for her contributions to housewifery. And I, I want, I always like want to root for her, but she makes it so difficult. And it's like, I actually was told, I thought she was being super reasonable about talking about Cynthia's wedding. And even like, I was kind of like, yeah, it's understandable. She's mad about getting uninvited from this event. But it's like, you had to go to the one thing that's like, why would you touch that? Like, why would you suggest?
that, why would you go there?
Like, how, I don't know where in her brain she would think it's going to be a good look
to question this.
Yeah.
It's just not.
It wasn't.
It wasn't.
But anyway, she always does that.
It's like a foot and mouth moment, but this moment, like, wasn't that.
It was like she.
It felt, yeah, it felt more like mean than kind of like, it's not just like, oh, like,
I said what I was thinking.
I should have kept my mouth shut.
It's like, no, that's like a really gross thing to say.
Yeah, but we shall see.
So, Dylan, who is your...
I'm having a good time.
I did too, I did too.
I did too.
But to kick off, 2021 Housewives, who was your Bravo Lab of this week?
The pressure.
It's got to be Candy.
I love that she's doing her, she's doing her Kenya's dirty work.
I think that's a fun little, like, mini, mini storyline.
Yeah.
We see her with Riley a little bit this week.
I, she throws some really savage shade at Cynthia when she's saying that she feels old around
Fallon and Latoya and all these like 30 year old women and she's like, if I'm feeling old,
Cynthia must be feel ancient.
So you know at that moment I googled how old all of them are and Cynthia's like 53 and
Candie's what like 44 thing 44.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then the rest of them are in their 30s.
Yeah.
I don't think of Cynthia as being like 10 years older than her, but I know, right.
I mean, they all look great.
That's why.
Amazing.
My Bravo Lab.
Okay, for the year, for the first episode of the year, let's just agree on this one.
We always agree, but we like to choose different ones.
But for this, I'm going to go with Candy as well.
Yeah.
I just thought this episode was unbelievable.
It was hilarious what she did and she doesn't even try to be funny.
She is just a rock star.
Yes.
And I will say kind of like secondary shout out to Portia again.
Yeah.
Really loved like what she was saying at the party.
she really kind of drove her point home and I think it's it's nice to see the women honoring her even if it's not something that she really like needs from them.
Yeah.
And yeah, candy just like every I'm like I never like think of her as one of my favorite housewives but then every time I'm like damn I love me some candy.
I know.
Candy-coated nights.
Candy-coated nights.
All right guys, thanks for listening.
This has been super fun.
We're going to try to stay so positive for the rest of this year.
right? The whole year?
