Mention It All - Not Just the Boat Rocking Ft. Fraser Olender (Below Deck)
Episode Date: June 3, 2025On today's episode, Dylan is joined by chief stew Fraser Olender from Below Deck to take a dip into the waters of this newest season. From crew hookups and resume lies to stewing for eight naked porn ...stars, Fraser shares the challenges of yacht dynamics, the impact of online backlash, and the complexities of managing a diverse team, especially one that can’t stop hooking up with each other. The conversation also touches on the expectations placed on stews and chefs, the unpredictability of filming a reality show on a yacht, and the difficulties of working with less experienced crew members. It’s sex, stews, and stormy seas… and we’re not just talking about the weather... Betches Media presents.
Ha ha.
Laugh.
Funny.
Mention It All.
A Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With me, Dylan Hafer.
We're going to check me, both.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention at All podcast.
I am so excited to be here today with Fraser Olender.
Chiefs do three seasons now on Below Deck and we are back for another season.
Fraser, hello.
Hello.
Hi.
How are you?
How you doing?
Very good.
I'm always happy to have a Below Deck.
Chief Stu in New York.
I feel like Below Deck is such a global
franchise that it's always
like, yes, come to us. We got to chat.
100%. People see me on land and they're like,
what are you doing? I'm like, no,
no, we're people too. We're always on boats.
I remember one time years ago, we
had Daisy on the podcast
and she was like literally on charter,
like on a boat, on Zoom.
Yeah. It's constant. The Wi-Fi is cutting out.
I'm like, no, we got to into the studio next time.
100%. So when we're actually in the flesh, like it's so
much better. It's so much fun. How are you doing? Obviously, this season in the can,
where we've got a new season ready to go. What is life like for you outside of, outside of
below deck, outside of being on the boat? Really good. I think the best part of filming is
disembarking at the end of the season. And I'm so pleased to just have some time off. At this season,
I've never worked so hard in my entire life. And I gave it my all. So to be able to breathe for a
minute is fantastic.
I mean, we felt this like over a year ago now, but I'm just so excited to relive it with
everyone.
I think people don't realize that I feel like with below deck that the timeline is a little bit
different than for a lot of other shows where it's like, okay, you're like off in whatever
location.
You film, there's all of our different below deck offshoots and everybody has their kind of
slot.
And I remember because they're doing the Salt Lake City crossover with below deck down under.
And I think people thought when they announced it that it's going to be on, like,
like this.
They were like, when is it air?
Can't wait to watch.
Well, they, they, they, they released that because they knew it was going to get leaked.
Yes.
So usually we have to go into radio silence.
Yeah, they do.
They do a good, because sometimes there will be like one Reddit that it's like, I saw
that Asia is in this place.
So she must.
And it's like, yeah.
Usually it's pretty locked down.
It's so locked down.
And like, I have to tell my, I don't tell anything to my followers, but I disappear
for six weeks.
And people are like, we know what's going on.
But yeah, the fact that they've released that is, is exciting.
I mean, that's not going to come up.
for a year. Right, because people need to like...
Down Under is on right now. It's filming right now. And then we've got your show and then
presumably something else will be happening in the fall. Right, right, right, right, right. But yeah,
I've had to be quiet about even being on the next season for a year. And you've been in this cycle
now. This is your fourth season. Fourth season. Third season is Chief Stu. That's correct.
What is it like for you kind of having that like cycle in your life of, okay, like every year or
so, I got to go away for six weeks and then I got to come back and I'm waiting. I'm doing interviews.
Yeah. You know, figuring out.
what this season is going to look like
and then it's airing.
How have you kind of
gotten used to that rhythm in your life?
I don't think you ever get used to it.
We also film at different times every year now.
So there's no structure really.
So I just have to play it by ear.
Something I'm not happy with,
but I've gotten used to.
So I just make it work.
Yeah, I don't feel like play it by ear is really your vibe.
Absolutely not.
But I think that, again,
if you don't play with the stack of cards
that you've been dealt, you're going to lose.
And I'm a winner, baby.
I do.
Okay, I was watching this premiere episode, and I was thinking, okay, third year as chief
stew, fourth year on the show.
Yeah.
When you first come on, you're with people who have been on the show for a long time.
You got to work with Captain Lee.
You got to work with Sandy a bit.
Rachel had been around for a few years.
You had like bosons coming and going, but now you're like the one
that is always there.
I know.
You're the constant.
I'm like, can I have someone, anyone to be the same?
But no, it's weird.
And I don't know why.
But I'm here to tell the tale of all this, you know,
I've worked with four captains.
I don't know any other chiefs you that's done that.
It's been nuts.
Like, it would be nice to have a little bit of consistency.
But I guess I'm the common denominator of everyone's downfall.
And I'll take it.
What was it, did it feel nice this season being back with Captain Kerry just having that like, like, solid thing that it was like, okay, we've done this before.
Yeah. We kind of know the, the drill.
Yeah, I think it's, I think to instill trust in your captain is one of the most, most important things as a chief.
And we know each other. We've done press with each other. We've done seasons together. And I finally feel like we have a really good connection.
And that's something that I've been after for so many years. So I'm in a good place.
Yeah.
I think it's the layers of obviously working on the charters together,
but then also being on the show together and having,
being in this like weird bubble of reality TV and Bravo and below deck.
It's like you want to have more of just a connection than just like,
oh yeah, we like work together.
Okay.
For sure.
I think there's that that's a thing as well.
And I do not treat this show like a show in any shape or form.
This is a job and I love my job.
And I think that's why I keep coming.
coming back because I truly put the job before anything.
And as long as I'm focused on that side of things,
then I can forget all the other stuff that comes with.
But yeah, it's definitely a tricky game to play.
What would you say is something that maybe over the years that you've been on the show
and also I guess your longer time now in yachting,
like what has kind of gotten easier and then maybe what is like,
what do you like doing less or what feels harder than it used to?
Do you know what?
Like, it's, it's ever-changing.
There's no consistency there.
I still, still really struggle with backlash online.
Like, that's really hard.
I don't feel like it's ever going to get easier.
There's no amount of therapy you can do to sort of see past that nonsense.
But I still find it weird people in real life knowing who I am.
And, like, genuinely thinking that we're besties on the street.
Better besties than enemies, I guess.
Well, online is different.
Geez, yeah.
But you know, you're right.
You know, it's good.
And just to see the appreciation of people around the world is incredible and so bizarre,
just for doing a job.
But I'll take it.
I think it's tough also when you're the chief stew or when you're the Bosen or the captain,
like being the manager of people.
Yeah.
People have so many opinions.
They do.
Because you can, even if you don't have experience in yachting or even in hospitality,
you can be like, oh, well, like, I have a boss.
And I don't like it when they make me feedback in X way.
And so, like, people have a lot of those sort of like workplace opinions.
Well, everyone can relate.
Like, regardless, people can relate.
And yes, people are very opinionated.
And no one is perfect.
That really, and it's so hard to do your best and then to be scrutinized a year after on television and online.
But I can only endeavor to get to be better and to get better.
And I think I've really showed a huge amount of growth this season with my management skills.
and dealing with tricky personalities.
Do not forget that there is a team of people
who make their bread and butter as casting directors,
finding people who know I will hate or who will hate me.
That's their full-time job.
Don't get that twisted.
I did have a good laugh in the premiere when we have Salern.
Selen, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Who, I believe she said 22 days working in a shipyard
is her yachting experience.
great person to put as my stew.
And they, the editors are so good at what they do
because on the first day of charter,
they have like the ticker down at the corner where it's like...
23.
Days in experience.
Yeah, yeah.
It's like, oh, we're really...
And trust me, we counted those days
because every single one counted.
But I really hope that she got the most out of my teaching as possible.
And, you know, she started as a green stew.
Hopefully now she's somewhat of a stew.
Yeah.
Hopefully.
Yeah.
We'll see.
Yeah, we'll see.
I think it's tough because it's something I pick up on,
I'm below deck sometimes is like the people who have less experience also feel like talked down to or patronize
when somebody tries to maybe help them or like treats them like they have less experience.
And it's like there is that kind of don't, don't talk to me.
Like I'm a real person.
I'm smart.
I can figure it out.
And it's like, no, like, this is.
There's like, it's hard.
And there's a hierarchy on a boat as well.
And like experience and time in the industry is really important.
Yotting is not something you can learn through a course.
You know, that, it has to be done in the flesh.
So when you are new, you need to understand that.
And you need to sort of respect people that have been there a bit longer and take their advice.
It's not a competition.
So good.
So good.

Girl, winter is so last season.
And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs.
You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sun dress.
Those sandals you can wear all day and all night.
And you've had enough of shopping from your couch.
Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope.
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.
What do you feel about?
So like some seasons there's like the chief stew, second stew, third stew.
Some seasons it feels like there's just like a pool of stewardesses.
Yeah.
What do you,
do you feel like having that specific hierarchy is usually helpful or?
Yes and no.
If they all have, if they're all,
as that sounds awful,
I was going to say,
they're all the shit as each other.
If they're all on the same level,
you don't want to give someone,
because then ego comes in and they start being weird.
And then it's like she's my,
she's above me,
but I saw her do this wrong.
It's more so that if I'm not around,
I need someone who can take the door,
I can trust.
Yeah.
You don't have to put a label to that.
If I didn't have to hand out stripes,
I probably wouldn't.
It's six weeks.
I don't know these people.
Why am I handing out stripes in the first place?
But if it's required of me, I'm going to look at their CV, see who's lied less, and then pick based on that.
Like, so you're all liars.
Oh, God.
Who's Eleventries when they're CV before?
That's fair.
I don't think so.
That's fair.
I mean, no comment, but that's fair.
Yeah.
Yeah, in the first episode, I mean, right off the bat, you see this happening on your team because, like, Barbie's giving, like, one helpful suggestion to Slend.
And it's like, did Fraser tell you to say that to me?
Yes.
I'm like, oh my God, this is going to be a long season.
And it gets that way.
Let's just clarify, she's Barbara, not Barbie.
We've had our trauma and we've moved on.
Thank you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Not going back there.
Very international crew this season.
Yeah.
You've got Brazilian.
All over.
Dutch, French.
Yeah, we have everyone.
I don't know how many Americans we have.
It might be like the fewest.
Yeah, it's not many.
Rainbow is America.
But she's Dutch.
So she's got the international.
science of her. She's got that. But it's from all over. Her name is like 50 letters. There's so many
languages on board, which is great. I think that's a cool thing about below deck. Because I think
like in, you know, coming from the US, I feel like it's like people have this kind of like,
okay, like some people have a British accent and that's fun or like maybe Australian. But like
this show really brings people together. For sure. And there are subtitles on every scene for the
entire season because they're necessary. Yeah. I mean, even like Kyle
No idea.
A little tough.
He's English speaking, but not a word is understood.
The Scottish is, it's a little tough sometimes.
So what was your reaction finding out that he was coming back this season?
Because he's the only returny aside from you and care.
Correct.
Great.
Aside from him turning up in flip-flops on day one, I was in a really good place.
Really happy to see, you know, someone I know and someone I've, you know, created a bond with.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It seems like he is, I mean, he obviously has this like young kind of, and like, I don't know, high energy, a little bit, you know, hard to predict sometimes.
But he like wants to do a good job.
He does, and I like that his heart's in a good place.
You know, he's there to work hard and he's there to take on criticism and be better, but he's also there to have a good time.
I always feel like it, like, it, like, speaks well of someone when they'll come back for another season when they're not getting promoted.
Yeah.
When it's like, okay, yeah, I'll be a decade.
can again? Like, I'm not, he's not a bosun. Well, his ego is in check. He doesn't need it.
You know, I think that when you, when you come in and you're generally there to do the job that
you've been given, do it. You know, you don't need to be all power hungry and naughty.
It seems like he might have some naughtiness later in.
Understatement of this century. Yeah, yeah. Where do, now that you've, I mean, you've been in yachting
for several years. You've had a lot of different experiences. What is it like for you kind of when you see
somebody in a co-worker, let's say, is like making questionable choices. Like, how do you
kind of like navigate that? When do you say something? When do you kind of sit back and be like,
well, this is there? Right. It's their problem. On the boat, you've got to know where you stand.
And I result to work. So if something in my department is getting out of hand, I'll,
I'll step up.
He is not in my department.
And Chief Stewart is very important,
but in terms of keeping the whole crew in check,
but ultimately it's not really my space.
So I might nudge his superior,
but at the end of the day,
I stay out of it.
Yeah.
What do we think about Kayo?
He seems a little, I'm not sure.
He is a lovely guy.
He's a bit scatty.
He's a bit all over the place.
It's very difficult keeping his attention span
for more than a couple of sex.
and that doesn't really work long term.
But we love him.
I think that in the first episode,
the leaving the luggage on the dock.
Yeah.
Because I feel like everybody has that thing where they're like,
oh, like, do I check a bag?
What if they lose it?
And you're like, it's fine, it's fine.
And seeing all the luggage.
It's not their proudest moment.
Yeah.
So, okay, what is the logistic of that?
Like, so they just drive it to a different place?
So for the first charter, wind was really bad.
we were at anchor.
So we had to collect the guests from the dock,
but obviously guests come with bags.
Right.
Debt crew, remember that one.
And we got to the boat and Captain was like, all right, we're off.
But yeah, they didn't check the bags.
I did.
I clocked it.
It was probably not a great sign for Celene's experience when they said that you were meeting the boat like on anchor.
She was like, where's the boat?
Yeah.
She thought that was the super.
It's like, babe, it's not.
Yeah, yeah.
She's iconic.
And let me tell you, like one thing to look forward to, if anything.
thing is how incredibly entertaining she is this season.
Yeah.
I feel like that's the thing.
I mean, we're creating a TV show here.
Yeah.
It's not just all work and whatever.
Like having somebody who needs a little extra help and is maybe like bumbling
sounds like a bad word, but sometimes a little, a little bit of that energy,
you kind of need it sometimes.
And I know that and it's necessary.
I mean, it's just somebody's got to screw up the laundry.
Right.
And it's just always, it's just a hurdle.
have to face every year. And it's and it's, it doesn't get easier. Do you feel like, so you've been in,
how long have you been in yachting, not just on the show? Uh, I want to say six or seven years.
Okay. Yes. Do you feel like, I feel like a lot of people sort of, there's like a, a burnout kind of.
Yeah. How long. Do you feel like they're, like, you're approaching a point where you see kind of like,
what's the next thing for me? Or do you, are you just kind of like, are you just kind of like,
we'll see.
No, yes.
I totally am thinking.
I'm not done yet.
I wish I was.
I'm not.
There's still a burning desire to do more
and be better and be just that bitch.
And I will be that.
I've got a couple more years in me.
Maybe three, maybe four.
Depends how long they want me for.
I know what's next.
And I'm doing it on the side.
And I hope that you're going to see what that is to in due course.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
You got to have irons in the fire.
Yeah.
I mean, I still love hospitality, luxury hospitality.
I am just excited to hopefully show everyone that when it's ready.
Okay.
I think that we've seen people, you know, that have been on below deck and kind of like gone and done various things.
Yes.
And I think like this is something like this show, this is season 12 now of OG.
Every successful spinoff, it's like, this.
is, people are way more aware of this kind of side of the hospitality industry than they were before,
just even knowing that charters like this and yachts like this exist. Like it does, there is kind of
now like this, I don't know, like market for even just like yachting adjacent. For sure, for sure. Yeah,
yeah. People really didn't know much about the industry. It was such a sort of secretive space for so long
for the rich and famous, ultra rich and famous. And now it's quite commercial.
Have you seen like the clientele change at all?
Like it's more people that...
Anyone and everyone has money now, sadly.
And I have to put up with it.
But it's just part of the game.
And at the end of the day, they're paying my bills.
And the more I make them smile, the fat of my pockets.
So I'm going to keep doing it.
Another theme party.
Right.
Another theme.
Here we go.
I've done every theme under the sun now and nothing scares me.
I've looked after eight porn stars naked for five days.
I'm ready for anything.
I feel like you kind of have to be.
You do.
And if you sort of ask,
if you hold yourself back,
you're just not doing anyone favors,
especially yourself.
I liked on the premiere that you arranged,
like people met up kind of the night before.
Yeah.
You met on the boat.
And that was something,
I don't know if they've done it at all before.
They've never done it.
I couldn't really remember because usually it's like,
you're just on the boat and people show up.
Correct.
Hey, put your polo shirt.
I was like,
guys,
can I meet my team first for once?
Like let's let me call these people up.
Let's go for a drink.
Let's meet each other off the boat before we're colleagues.
I can gauge who's kind of who.
Clocking the vibes a little bit.
Yeah, I can sleep on it.
And then I can wake up.
We can all go to the boat and I know what I'm doing.
It's just a really different take to it.
And I think it's really fun to change things around.
Yeah.
You know, Blonex's been going for what, nearly 12 years?
It's a new generation now.
Yeah, it's a little...
Having that icebreaker.
And also, I think people...
It's like viewers of the show,
want there to be different relationship dynamics and, oh, who do you have your eye on?
Who, who are you getting along with?
And I think, like, almost breaking the ice sooner.
Yeah.
So then that first day, you're already kind of like, you have your feet wet a little bit.
Totally.
And I can't spoil and don't want to spoil any part of the season, but there's a time in
which this show this year does become something way more and way more exciting and different.
And you're not going to see the same kind of stuff that you've seen every year.
I'm really excited for you to know what I mean by that.
Okay.
Yeah.
I'm excited to know what you mean by that, too.
I mean, in the preview for the season, there's a lot of, a lot of, um, people have
kissed a lot of different people.
Yep.
And we get a quick, I was literally like, I was like, pausing.
I'm like, I was like, okay, Solan and who and who.
And then who and who.
I'm like, these names are fresh in my head.
Know that everyone gets with everyone.
Um, and it's kind of weird, but it's also wonderful.
And there's just such a sense of tea.
and crew this year, and it's just so brilliant.
Like, I just loved my crew more than ever.
Yeah.

I think something that people, maybe people that don't,
don't watch below deck, something that they would say is like, isn't it the same every season?
It's the same.
Because the format is usually very consistent.
And I think that like the reason that the show and the larger franchise has worked so well is because it's like the consistency of the format makes you feel comfortable and makes it really easy to binge and makes it feel like a comfort show.
But then like the personalities are so different.
The problems that arise are so different.
drama is different every season. And so like figuring out almost how how much you can bend within
that charter season. I mean, you've nailed it. Format's there. You can watch the show on your phone and you can know
what's going on. But you're right. The characters are so different every year. This year I have to say
though, kudos to whoever got them on board because the way in which this season spirals in every way
is incredible. And that's down to the personalities. They're incredible this year. Yeah. In the first episode,
and I think the spiral award has to go to chef.
Yeah.
Not great.
Chef.
Chef was an interesting gentleman.
Lovely guy.
He found it difficult to deal with the cameras.
Yeah.
But like, or did he?
I don't know.
I don't want to throw him under the bus here.
But I'm just like, you know what you're getting yourself into.
Can you do the job or are you blaming on cameras?
Because cameras are not on your face.
The thing for me was, so he said like,
In his very, I should say his name, his name is Lawrence, Chef Lawrence.
He says right off the bat, I'm apprehensive about the filming part of it.
Like that's not what he's excited.
But the thing is like not being excited for that part of it is different than like,
yelling at people who are literally doing their job.
It's everybody's job is to be there with the camera and to create the show.
A hundred cents.
And so it was, it was, I don't think honestly like on any reality show, I can't remember.
remember seeing somebody who's like that frustrated by the existence of the crew and the cameras.
It's like, what did you think this is going to be about? Yeah. Truly, why did you say yes to this? Yeah,
I mean, listen, um, we're all still confused by it. But you're right. It's like ordering a pizza and not
eating, you know, bread, cheese or tomato. Like it's very, it's, it's, it's dumb. Yeah. Um, but it is what
it is. And, um, yeah, you'll see how that sort of pans out. But it was odd. You know, I did think to
myself, well, what are you doing? Because we all know what's going on. We've all got a job to do.
And it's very important on a superyard in those very, very time restrictive moments to do your
job. And I just think it's very easy to blame it on third parties or factors that.
Yeah, well, the camera thing aside, I do always feel like when you meet a new chef and it's like,
I have all the experience to Michelin Star Restaurant. I'm like working in the mission.
I've watched enough below deck to know.
Having the Michelin Star restaurant experience is not the same.
No, it's not.
As knowing your way around a galley kitchen, working on a boat,
working on a charter where every guest is going to want something different.
It's a different menu every night.
Like, I think that even to me, before I saw the rest of the episode, I was like, we'll see.
Yeah, we'll see.
Throw as many Michelin stars at me.
Like, if it doesn't matter, you're absolutely right.
It's a different ballgame.
Right.
It's like, what are you making for snack when the guest's,
are cranky.
100%.
And they get back to the boat
from their excursion.
And they're like,
I want chicken fingers.
Shove those michelons where the sun
don't shine because it doesn't matter.
You've got to be versatile.
You've got to move.
You've got to be thinking.
You've got to be creative.
Yeah.
Although all chefs are nuts.
So I'm really sorry for all your chefs.
You are insane.
I don't know what happened in any of your growing ups,
but it's not good.
The track record is.
It's not okay.
Well, and then, I mean,
the other layer is,
he's born again Christian
he's found Jesus
and that has changed his life. I don't think he found him well enough
because there's nothing that helped him this year.
The second he got in the kitchen, it's
fuck this, fuck that.
Oh yeah, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep.
He makes Jeff Rachel
look like a goody two shoes
with the mouth.
Yeah.
I just, I think he needs to still keep searching
for something because he didn't find it
this year.
What do you feel like this season?
I know you've talked about the personalities, kind of the format.
Like, what was your, like, mindset going in?
How do you, do you feel like each season is distinct in your mind?
Or is it kind of just, like, strap in another six weeks?
To an extent, it's like, oh, God, what are they throwing at me this year?
Who have I got to contend with this year?
But, yeah, every year is going to be that way.
I know that.
However, I really wanted to, I always like to reflect on my previous seasons and see what I can do better.
And one thing I wanted to do, which I failed at last year, was being really reactive
and letting sort of emotion sort of cloud my judgment.
And I wanted not to be reactive.
So every time there was a situation that really pushed my buttons,
I would breathe and step back and go,
well, how should I really be dealing with this?
And I do feel like I did that this year.
I do feel like I nailed that.
It takes a serious, strong person to do this every year.
But I'm dead inside, so we can keep moving now.
Nothing can, you know, nothing can come up anymore.
episodes because I don't even remember.
I have no idea.
No, it's all trauma.
So I black out for six weeks.
And then I take my rest of my ear to come back to life.
I do feel like I can sense watching the show.
I'm like, if I was on this show, I would not remember a single detail.
No.
And so watching every week.
Like, are you, do you get, are you like excited to sit down and watch the episode every
week usually?
Or are you kind of like, God, what is it this time?
Yes.
I mean, I don't see it until you guys see it really.
I mean, we see it a couple days beforehand.
But yeah, I don't know what they're going to show.
I mean, if you think about it, we're cutting two days into 41 minutes.
So, like, I could be paralleled about something I said,
or I could worry about this, or I could, you know, whatever.
And I have no idea what they're going to show.
Yeah.
And, of course, they're not, like, calling you and being like,
Hey, Fraser, so you said something kind of messy, but we're going to leave it in.
It's like, it's a surprise.
I say goodbye in the field.
And I say, hello next time we film.
I don't, we're not in contact with anyone.
we're like little rats running around.
Maybe Chef Lawrence is talking to them.
He's talking to someone up there or down there.
He's like, can you, uh, he's like, oh, I'm not supposed to.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But no, so we have no idea.
We have no idea.
We have, it's such a bizarre experience.
Yeah.
Where would you say this season in ranking compared to your other seasons in terms of like,
I'm excited to watch it or I'm dreading it?
Top, top, top, top, top, top, top.
Top, top, top.
I genuinely mean that.
It was so good that I was like,
this is, I can, I can stop now.
I'm not going to, but I was very happy with how this went down.
And in the last episode, I get very emotional, because I'm very, very proud.
And I think it's, have we seen like emotional Fraser much?
I'm trying to think.
Yeah.
I think that this year they show me.
I think for many years, they were like, ooh.
Yeah.
Keep him, you know, them do the job.
Like this year, you see my, my personality, I hope, finally.
I do think it's a, it's a.
format that doesn't always lend itself to really feeling like you we can get to know like every
side of you because you're in work mode obviously there's like nights out and there's days off
sometimes and you're like partying or whatever but it's not like a it's not a show where we're
seeing like you at home you with your family with your other friends like I think now that you've
been on the show for a few years it makes sense that you're sort of feeling like okay like I don't
just want to be like the character in the uniform sure yeah yeah and I think that you get
see that. There's definitely some more time off this year. I can tease that. Okay. And within that,
you see a lot more personality. So yes, let's hope that the producers show a bit more of
not work mode. Okay. Let's hope. Okay. So we mentioned earlier this Salt Lake City Housewives
crossover with Blow Deck. When you found out that was happening, are you jealous at all that it's
not your season or are you relieved that you don't have to deal with? A bit of both.
All of that.
The fact that they're working with chef Ben,
who is so OG icon.
Of course I'm a bit envious of that.
That's great.
Have I had enough of housewives as charter guests?
Maybe.
You never know.
We have some fantastic guests.
I'm happy for them.
The thing that is really exciting is like usually we get some great moments of charter guests
on below deck all the time and there's comedy and,
drama and horror sometimes.
Yeah. But like, knowing that those people we know and are as invested in as the crew is
like a really new idea. And it does make me wonder, I'm like, okay, so like, if we do this
more, like, who would you be excited to see on the boat? I don't know. Bravo or other. It could be
like people from some other show or actors or Charlie X, X, X and Jake Shane. Oh, okay. Yeah, that would
be a good pairing.
I could see that. Charlie X, X, X, and Co would be a really great
Charter Group. Yeah, bring the whole Co. The thing is, I'd find it really hard to not
just sit down and have a drink with them. Yeah. Like, I would give up my job and get
fired for that, right? That would be dumb not to. Because then if you get to be in the little
crew. Oh, then I don't, I don't need no show. But no, but I love them. If you're in the 360
video next time, then you're fine. And I think it's about time that I do something like that,
you know.
No, but I would just, I would just love it.
I think it would be so fun, but I wouldn't be able to just, I wouldn't be able to work.
I really, I'd probably quit and ask if I could join their charter and then be a guest of the crew
that I'd just been working with.
Yeah, I feel like it's always, it's like a fine line, like how fun you actually want the charter guests
to be because it's like, well, I can't hang on with you anyway.
I know.
And like I do really treat the job like a job, so you can't ever have too much fun.
Well, I think that's the one, if you want to have longevity in this field on the show,
whatever. It's like there are just certain things where it's like, yeah, like I have to, I have to play by
the rules enough that I'm not going to literally get fired. For sure. Again, priority is always been
do the job phrase. Do the job. Remember that you're here, you're hired to do the job. I keep getting
hired to do the job. So I'm going to do that. All the other drama is just a bonus, I guess, but it's not
something I love or look for. Okay. So we're just getting into this season. We've just met everyone. We're
We're just getting to know personalities.
At the end of the season, just do you think that anyone knew will be back for another season?
Would you predict that there will be returners?
Yeah.
No, no, these characters are iconic.
Okay.
And I, nor the viewer, will not want to not see them again.
There must be someone back.
Okay.
Yeah.
For better or for worse.
Absolutely.
Yeah, as always.
Fraser, thank you so much.
I'm excited for this season to be back.
You've made me very excited to see what's coming.
No, you've got a lot coming your way.
Looking forward to it.
Well, thank you.
Thanks everyone for watching.
Don't forget to rate review and follow the show wherever you listen.
And until next time, be cool.
Don't be all like uncool.
