Betches Media presents
Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All.
A Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With Dylan Hafer.
Who don't check me, boo?
And Barry Rosenfeld.
I need to start drinking alcohol.
Now go to sleep, we.
Hello, and welcome back to another episode of the Mentioned All podcast.
I'm Barry Rosenfeld.
And I'm Dylan Hafer.
Just kidding.
But we could, I'm Fank Carey Bradshaw, but we could fool enough people, I think, to believe that I am Dylan.
I don't know. Could your impressions live up to Dylan's impressions?
Oh, honey. I know. You're like our permanent Salt Lake City filling.
Honestly, I love it. It's my favorite.
It's going to be really fun because this week was a whopping 90-minute episode, which was phenomenal.
But we also have exciting news that all the listeners I know are excited about, too,
because I don't stop talking about it.
We got the New Jersey trailer.
Wait, can I tell you that it, like,
put shivers down my spine?
Okay.
I know you'll appreciate this.
Did the beginning not give you
mob wives on VH1?
Oh my God.
Well, you know that I love mob wives, like, hands down.
It's my favorite thing in the world.
Like, my entire drag aesthetic is inspired by mob wives.
But, like, mob wives did not end.
on a happy note and that's like my fear.
So that show is one of those shows where like right now I'm confident you and I are the only
people I know that watched it.
And like it's one of those where it's like really?
It had an like why.
And then it brought back that other show on MTV with the kit like and that failed.
They brought it back like three times to be honest.
I don't even remember the name of it.
But like the New Jersey trailer is giving us like original.
Jersey.
Oh, I mean, down to the table flip.
Like, the vibe of Teresa, like, slamming that shit down and then doing it again was so
Teresa season two.
I think she, yeah.
Did you watch Ultimate Girl's Trip?
We never talked about it.
I did.
Okay.
So this, Dylan and I would always say how Teresa this, in this, like, show was so different.
Like, we really feel like she was in her own.
element. She felt so comfortable.
And like she's in a new relationship. She's happy.
She's all this. But it's like we miss like
Teresa.
Yeah. So it's like when this trailer came out,
like, well.
Teresa says in the last episode of Girls Trip
that like I've never had fun
on my own show.
You can tell like
Teresa looks like the employee who should have
retired last year. Like she's just
like, I love Teresa.
Don't get me wrong
Amazing television
Of course
But like she seems
Just over it
And like
You know
Like she can't even entertain
The bullshit anymore
I think it's because
She is very used to
Being the star
Of her show
And she
She as her friends
And this show gave her a chance
To like
You know
Leave her shell
Her comfort zone
Whatever
But we are back
We are back
Jersey
It'll be
February 1st
It'll be interesting to see because people change when they're in a relationship, like a new relationship.
And it's like, like, you know, Vicky on Orange County would get a new boyfriend and would be completely different each season based on who she was dating.
Right.
So, like, I'm interested to see.
And I think that a lot of it is them talking about not liking Louis.
And I feel like that's not going to fly.
No.
And then Jacqueline and Dolores, or Jackie and Dolores.
I was like, excuse me, no, no Jacqueline, no Jacqueline.
Like, you know I love Jackie so much.
I like Jackie is like someone, we've talked about it before.
Just go, we just want to go out to dinner.
I just want to go out to dinner and hang out.
Yeah, she's like genuine and kind.
And I think Dolores is too, seemingly.
Dolores is one of the hottest people I've ever seen.
And also, we have said this.
We have, me, when Dylan and I interviewed Dolores, which,
go listen to it if you haven't.
It was a while back.
I'm sorry, I don't remember the date.
She is one of, she was one of,
and when we remember who we talked to,
that's like a big deal.
She was one of the nicest human beings,
like I've ever spoken to,
that you felt the genuineness,
like through the screen,
because of course we were on Zoom,
unfortunately.
I met Dolores once at the,
like, three years ago
when she was new on the show
at like a red carpet thing.
And when we said we were from Brucho,
she was like,
why have you never asked me in? You've asked everyone else.
She's a great person. But I don't like when they get into like a fight.
I hope, honestly, I'm like, Jackie, it's time to take a bitch down. Like, you got to pull someone's hair.
You got to show them who's boss. Like, I hate to say it. But like with these, like, especially Dolores,
I feel like, you're a pussy. You're not going to do anything. And that's how she's been.
And I feel like that's how a lot of them have been to Jackie the whole time.
Well, her and Dolores have butted heads in the past.
Remember the famous, okay, Jackie.
Oh, totally.
But it's because she's like, Jackie isn't the type of person who, like, lets people just show up to her house unannounced.
And I'm like, what are you talking about?
You don't like Jackie because she was not raised old school Italian?
I don't see Jackie as a hair puller.
I can't put my finger on what she would do.
Jackie seems like a, if it goes down, she's a punt.
Like, she beats you.
Oh, yeah.
get excited.
We're beyond.
I literally cannot wait.
It's just like it brings me back.
But we're talking about Salt Lake City.
We're going to Utah.
Oh, my God.
Thank God.
Oh, why?
Like, where do we even start, to be honest?
It was such a, obviously the meat and potatoes of this episode was the luncheon.
But we had to have to talk about some few tidbits beforehand.
We do.
Also, I filmed yesterday, so look out for it.
but Lisa Barlow hosting a holiday dinner.
I feel like you're a better Lisa Barlow than Lisa Barlow.
I mean, let's get into it.
I have so much to say about Lisa Barlow.
All right, well, we're starting off of Lisa Barlow.
The fact that Lisa and Jen are meeting for lunch for the first time since this happened
because Lisa hasn't answered her phone calls.
Yeah.
And Lisa has somehow turned this into being about her.
I don't know if you feel the same way or if you got those vibes too, but somehow I, I agree with her in the sense where she needed time to process.
I get it.
I would too, if that's your friend.
But she wasn't like getting what Jen was saying about like needing support from her friend.
But she also, Jen said that they used to be on the phone for like two or to two and a half hours a day just talking.
I'm like, that is a very close friend if that's true.
Right.
and it's weird how she can understand how Lisa could just like flip that switch.
Like that's very, that's very strange.
And I, it's weird because as much as we don't know, like about Jen yet, we can only judge what we're like seeing on right now.
And it's weird.
Like, it looks like she just like needs her friend.
And to the fact where Lisa was like, how?
So like, how do you need support?
And I was like, wait, are you serious?
Do you need like, you need to, she just needs.
It's like her, you've never been there for a friend.
Lisa's like, I can't give you any money.
What do you mean?
You just like are there.
If she calls you, you're there.
But.
Like, it's like how Heather was like, I'm going to go.
I'm not going to ask questions.
And I'm going to like.
Well, right.
But she did because Heather, I feel like is.
Yeah, but like, we need Heather.
In that situation, I also would be like, I'm not going to ask questions.
I'm not going to ask questions.
But if you feel like talking about it.
But have a question.
I would love to know.
I don't know.
And, okay, help me out here because I'm serious.
I even try.
When Lisa kept saying, like, I was hurt, like, you hurt my feelings.
What did she talking about?
Like, what did Jen do to her recently that, like, I literally can't remember?
I think she had said, it was, like, a brief thing.
I think she said that it wasn't on camera, but that, like, after Jen left somewhere,
something with the Fresh Wolf party,
I think it was.
That she, like, after the Fresh Wolf party,
she, like, called her and was, like, yelling at her
and saying she was a terrible friend.
It's just, like, if you look at Meredith's situation,
yeah, I see why she doesn't get along with Jen,
and she's, like, you know, she's not going to touch that with the 10-foot pole.
But Lisa, I was like,
there's a little different situation.
Like, you can put what happened to you to the side for a little bit, I think.
I'm a little over Meredith, too, to be honest.
Yeah.
Okay, so I have said last season, like the beginning of Salt Lake City, I've always said that Meredith wasn't my favorite because I thought she was a little boring.
But now I like her this season, but it is a little, she is being a bit, like, dramatic.
She has such an air of, like, privilege to her that, like, obviously they're all loaded, but like.
Wait, it differs from Heather DeBrow for some reason.
It really, it feels like a, uh, I'm better.
than everyone kind of vibe.
Yeah.
Yeah, I get that, but it changes a little at the end, actually,
which is something I wanted to talk about when we get to the Fah lunch.
But I just want to reiterate that I agree with Jen in the situation where how can she
trust Lisa going forward.
If you cannot, like exactly what you said, if you go from talking on the phone two hours
every other day, you know, long catchals to like not entering your phone calls,
like how can you, how can you, when you're going to decide, pick and choose when you're going to be
friends in there for me, like, I don't know. But to me, I don't think I could trust any of these
ones, not one. No. On this show. But I think, yeah. And it's also, I'm like, Jen really is
serving, like, an Oscar award winning performance here. I mean, I agree because after that, we'll see
where they go, because these, these, these, I said,
I was saying earlier that this season reminds me of like a Mary Kate and Ashley like just detective
Mepa.
It's like they're just two by two meetups talking about different things.
But I'm like Jen could like literally go to jail for like a long time.
And I'm like I feel like she did it obviously because what like she must have done it, I feel like.
Well, Mary thinks that too.
And I mean there's no.
way that the FBI, they've been like tracking her for like years getting this information.
All new drinks are now at McDonald's with refreshers like the strawberry watermelon
refresher and the mango pineapple refresher with popping boba to crafted sodas like the spright
berry blast with berry flavors and cold foam. Who knew ice cold drinks could be so fire?

So speaking of Jen, when that scene that she had with Sharif talking and he just seems like such a down-to-earth guy, like for real, like so sweet, so kind, whatever.
He was saying how he wants to downsize.
He thinks it's a good idea, like something more they can afford because of like their lawyer bills are going to be, are like millions of dollars.
And she literally was like, nah, like, we're good.
And also, what am I going to do?
She also mentioned she, like, employs most of her family.
And she told all of them to move to Utah.
And she'll set them up.
She'll, like, get them job.
She'll pay them.
And I was like, there's just some more things that I just wouldn't say on camera.
Well, exactly.
What jobs did you get them, Jen?
Calling people, were they?
What are they doing?
Is your family now involved in this, too?
like what's going on here
I don't know
it's like
why do they need to move to Utah
like who do you know that they're
I don't know it's just very weird to me
but
it's all I'm like yeah
we'll see what happens
did she do it I think so
but I also think she could get
like beyond
technicalities get
away with it
I don't know I don't know
I mean listen
me and Dylan have mentioned
numerous times. Like if we can try to get into the
courtroom in New York, if they do to New York, like we're going to
try to like get some serious content.
But I'm not sure.
Also like I'm somewhat joking.
Okay. We got to move on to Mary because
we find out this
is where the Mary He and Ashley's shit comes into play.
Because when Lisa and Whitney, again, do their forced
meet up friendship. Let's work on this.
activities, which is paddleboard yoga, I can't take this force friendship. Like, it's not gonna work. It's
just not gonna work. Like, I'm like, you're not friends. Why? But I will say, nothing brings people
together like a common enemy. And I feel like that's what we're seeing here. That is very,
very true. And it's sad that that is what they have. Like, they don't have anything in common other than
they're what they agree on with Mary.
Yeah, I think we're going to see them never be friends, but we'll see them aligned at the reunion.
Listen, that's fine. But what the information Whitney gives us, like, that Robert and Mary are
predators is like a strong statement. Well, yeah, because that also can mean, like,
it means something different depending on who you're talking to. So, like, what does that mean exactly?
And the fact, though, that when, like, the producers were asking Whitney, like, more in-depth questions, too, and she was like, I wouldn't even, I won't even, like, say.
I was like, I was that curious and I wanted to know, but because of how she explained it, I didn't want to Google it on my phone.
Listen, I'm sure I can Google on my phone.
It's not like that crazy.
But it might be.
Like, what did they do?
What's on the internet?
I don't know.
We have to look because.
I don't want to look.
Everyone's acting like Mary has had people killed.
Like, I'm like...
Would you be?
That surprise?
Like, that's not that.
Listen, guys...
If Mary Cosby ends up getting arrested for murder, I will...
We talked about this the week...
So you were on a few weeks ago, and then we talked about Salt Lake City.
And I was like, no one wants Mary or talks about Mary getting arrested more than Chris Burns.
You just, I feel like you're going to win something, like if that actually happens because
I think I tweeted it like during the, when she was like talking about how the FBI, she's like,
it's the FBI.
They know what they're doing.
Like they wouldn't arrest you if you didn't do something.
And I was like, play this back when Mary is getting hauled out by the FBI.
Okay.
So, all right.
So let's go to, let's get to this lunch because this is what cracks me up.
during watching housewives.
Like, Jenny is setting up this
fall lunch at the International Peace Gardens,
which do you have that where you live?
Because...
I mean, I don't know where things are.
How do all of these shows have such specific places?
Like, that looked like the most beautiful,
tranquil place, like...
How about the...
How about the paddleboard yoga?
I know. It was like in a cave.
It looked like it was an excursion.
that you do off a cruise ship.
And he said perpetually
96 degrees, the water.
So, I mean, it looked very nice.
It looked amazing.
But we got to go to Salt Lake City.
It is gorge.
I'm down.
I'm down.
I feel like we should do these franchise trips.
Yeah.
Welcome us with open arms.
That one might be on my last on my list just because of like what's going on.
But with like a few of the cast meets over there.
but it's fine.
Jenny, for me,
it's so hard for these first season housewives
because she's trying,
like this is a great activity
and thing for her to do to bring them together,
but it's just like so much is going on
with the other housewives that it's just not about her.
And I feel bad because, like, it's just your season you were placed on.
But I kind of am living fridge, Jenny.
and like...
Oh no, yeah.
Because I feel like every season has, you know,
one big scandal,
and I feel like this one has many going on.
Right.
And I feel like Jenny, though, is like...
I definitely think she'll be back
because she gives, like, says what she wants to say.
She's not afraid of, like, stepping on toes.
And she really holds her own opinion
and doesn't, like, fall into what they're saying.
So, exactly. I agree.
So I said the same thing about, like,
Crystal exact same thing, like that scandal being Erica and her being a first season housewife,
it's hard for you to shine in something like that. But anyway, Jenny hosts this peace garden.
I found it a little shady that she didn't tell Meredith that Jen was invited only because
like Meredith made it. She did make it clear the way she said it in her delivery when she said it to
Jenny this episode. But the way that the look on Jenny's face was like production.
set this up. I didn't invite anyone.
Like, that's, her face was like,
because she was like, is that, uh, Jen? And she's like, I think so.
Like she didn't, like, it didn't seem like she knew she had done anything bad.
And normally in a situation like this, we would see them talking about it before her being like,
I hope Meredith's not mad that I'm inviting.
Like, I really think she didn't think about it.
Do you think the ladies are ever, like, can you guys take responsibility one?
time and tell the women that you, like, meaning production, can you guys tell them that you did this?
Like, why are you putting your drama on us?
Oh, no, I mean, that's what they're there for.
Like, I know.
And I'm sure that they have said things like that and we don't see them.
Like productions, like you guys aren't doing your job.
So here, you guys, we have to step in when we need to.
Yeah.
So, because that was the, that was the rumor or that's what, um, Lisa Rina had posted about the fight with, remember Garcell?
she said that that was Erica in production,
and they set it up that it was Garcell's fault.
Right.
Which I just have to point out and say that affects us hosting podcasts and recapping episodes
because we're placing judgment on the wrong people.
No, in my head, I'm always like, I know that production does things, but you can respond.
It's the way they, like, I'm like, Lisa is spinning like a top, I feel like for producers at all times.
Lisa, Rina.
Lisa, both.
But Lisa Barlow, especially.
So good, so good.

Girl, winter is so last season.
And now spring's got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs.
You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sundress.
Those sandals you can wear all day and all night.

Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope?
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.
But here we are again.
First of all, Mary, she just comes late as usual and just strolls in.
But Lisa Barlow tends to make this situation about her as well.
And it's like this is the first time Jen is with all these women.
She really does hold her composure in a situation like this where she's like, oh my God,
it's going to come to a head.
Like, should we just like address the elephant in the room?
Like what's going on here?
Oh, Jen, well, Jen, I thought.
I felt sad for her, honestly.
I agree.
Because I was like, she felt just defeated, kind of.
Yes.
And the fact that everyone else was getting up and excusing themselves.
And she's like, wait, really?
Like, really?
I have to sit here and be, like, strong and defend myself.
But you guys have to excuse what's going on.
It's also, like, maybe now she, the gravity of what she's going through,
she's like, this is bullshit compared to, like, real drama.
Right. And the fact that she's
Has to be careful what she's saying.
She's just like saying she didn't do it.
So he enters Mary who is asking the questions that we all we there's always one housewives who's asking the questions that like everyone wants to ask and no.
She's going a little too in depth though because she's like really, Jen, really?
You didn't know. You don't know. You don't know.
Mary is a fucking cartoon character.
it like even when they go back to the table and Jen is like at least I know that like I have people on my side and Mary's like well I don't know if that's true when she said that when Mary goes well I don't know about that Jen I was like is Mary wasted what's going on she is just like saying things that like she didn't know cameras were there she doesn't care that people are seeing this like it was well production is like we definitely don't need to
intervene when Mary's involved because
I feel like, oh my, I want
a reality show about them
filming at Mary's house. Because I
imagine it to be a nightmare. The producers
having to talk to Mary, imagine.
Well, because she doesn't listen.
She doesn't listen to what people are saying.
And it proved true
in this conversation where like
Lisa said something and Mary was like, I'm not talking
to you. Like she takes things so like to
heart and Lisa was like, well, we're
having a conversation like at the table.
other people are sitting here.
It's crazy.
And I thought her and Lisa left on, like, good terms.
I know, but she reacts to what people say too personally.
Like, Lisa, and also the fact that she takes that and runs with it.
So now, like, her and Lisa aren't, you know, like, she's mad at it.
And she's, like, does her little, like, well, yeah, like, with her hand in the air.
She's like, don't say it.
Whatever.
I mean, she fully has a God complex.
Her and Jenny have never gotten along.
And I have to say I don't really see where that's ever, where that's coming from.
I don't get me.
I want Jenny to take her down.
I am so excited because I feel like Jenny can't literally came in and was like, I'm not
going to judge any of these women until I know them.
She's getting to know Mary.
And she's like, this woman is absolutely insane and has a God complex.
And I have no loyalty to her like Meredith bizarrely does for whatever reason.
Well, when someone, here's the thing that just pissed me up about something like that.
Whenever anyone says shut the fuck up and then the person's responses don't tell me what to do.
They're not telling you what to do.
They're literally just being like controlling the situation.
Yeah, like shut the fuck up.
Me shut the fuck?
You should, like, there's fun ways to respond here.
Give us a show.
But like, Meredith excuses herself because I feel like she just, she, I don't know why, to be honest.
I just, I actually don't know why she, like, leaves.
And she was like, I agreed with what she said when she was like,
I can't, you guys are all talking so much shit.
And then no one's coming to her defense when you all said you were going to be her friend.
Lisa then runs after her.
And this is the funniest part of this episode.
This made me so sad.
When Lisa said she wants Meredith to be there for her.
There's such a desperation in Lisa's voice that's like, I don't want to be the villain again.
Please.
When she said that to Meredith, please be there for me.
What in the world didn't click with Lisa when earlier that episode is what Jen was telling
her to do?
I get that.
Yeah, that's ironic.
What is happening here?
But you know when the vibe between Lisa and Meredith is very, you know, when you have a good
friend and things start changing and you know.
She sees Meredith pulling away.
Exactly. And yeah, you know that it's inevitable. Like when that feeling starts happening now, I'm like, okay, I know what's happening. Like, we'll just fucking ice this out. We saw that, Hank, we saw that happening in the beginning of this season. Meredith is, and that brings me back to what I said to you earlier. When I didn't like Meredith, it's because I've said this multiple times. I didn't like the way she was with Lisa. And I like her on her own now. And now I feel like she, listen, they're friends. They've been friends for a long time. They just might not be as close as they were.
But that's what makes it sad.
It's like there's a lot of this history of how swathes that have been good friends for a long time.
The show changes them.
Correct.
They start like Caroline and Teresa.
Yeah, I know.
Listen, Jersey just makes me sad because those were all real authentic friendship.
That's what I'm like, exactly.
I'm like, Dolores.
That's been like they've been friends for what, 20 something years?
Margaret?
Reality TV changes people.
and I think that it also is changing Meredith.
It's changing both them.
It's not just changing Lisa.
Like they're just evolving, whatever.
So she, Meredith is a good friend.
So she was like kind of just saying she's like,
I'm telling you guys, I don't need to be Jen's friends,
but you guys are saying you are meanwhile you're talking shit about her and not being there.
So actually Meredith in a way came to Jen's defense, which is kind of...
She did.
That was really bizarre.
It was.
But then you have Mary.
This show is hilarious.
The two by twos are even happening in a group situation.
When Mary was like, Jen, come with me.
I was like, Jen, don't go.
Do not go.
She was like, I would rather, Jen, if I was Jen, I'd be like, I'd rather go with the FBI again.
Mary told her she knows she is guilty.
And she's like, oh, shit, why did I say that?
Innocent.
Innocent.
That was quite a slim.
The whole time Jen was just looking at Mary like, is this happening?
Okay, but that's funny you said that because even last season, when the two of them specifically have these conversations, the way Jen looks at Mary is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life where she's like, wait, what?
Okay.
Like she's just saying things like.
And she's like, you know me.
You know me, girl.
Like, I've always got your back.
And it's like, that's not the history.
Well, that's what's scary about Mary is that she'll go back to the table and.
be a completely different person and it's like immediately like immediately it's it's weird i mean
i don't i don't even know what's happening after this we're not even done with the lunch oh and then yeah
and then jen when mary makes the comment the racist comment about jenny okay i i thought i was
hearing things i heard the first she said two things and the first thing i was like um okay
No one acknowledged it, but they did show Jenny's, like, reaction.
And then the fact that she said it like something else.
And I, they go more into it next episode.
Like you can, you see Jenny and Mary have a conversation.
Well, I love that Jenny was like, if I wasn't hosting this at the Peace Gardens, she'd be on the grounds.
At the peace gardens, exactly.
The issue is, well, there's many issues.
Mary, and there's no defending any comments made, like it's actually horrific.
she said something last week.
Like it's actually like,
these comments slip out so easily that like you know she's racist.
Like that's it.
So she's saying it so it's rolling off the tongue,
the things she's saying where it's like,
do you know what year it is?
And like you don't even,
you don't find a,
you're not even flinching when you say these things.
You have no idea that it's even bad.
And that's a problem because these people shouldn't be the ones
letting her know that she should
but I guess that's what happens
and then did you see the apology
the apology that she posted
last week is that what happens
when you sit and talk to yourself
but that apology was insane
also like it the fonts
were it took more time to make that
to like graphic design
that then to
come up with the very generic message
behind it correct yeah
it's it's she's a
she's a loose
canon. I don't know.
She's got to go. I'm like, this woman
should not be on television.
Yes, it's really, but at the same
time, before, and this is the issue,
because before she's made continuous racist comments,
she was that loose canon on reality TV that everyone
loves to see because we're like, oh, I don't know what she's
going to say, but when you cross that line, it's like, you can't,
you can't be here anymore. There's something
different about her, because I'm like, I love a loose cannon,
but like I need a loose cannon that has like
kind of a soul like I'm like like a brandy is crazy
but she like at the end of the day you know
she's not a terrible person
and like that are like
you know there's so many of them
but it's like are these people
are some of them just so like sheltered
that it's so bizarre to me
I'm telling you like my jaw
should drop
when watching the
FBI come on the camera
not for when someone says something
so disgusting to someone
else. Like the racist
comments are beyond me, but
The reunion is going to be a shit
show for Mary.
I hope. Yeah.
And also next episode
because you're right, Jenny confronts
her and she should.
Yeah. But Jenny,
that's, here's the thing though, back to that.
That's not why Jenny should, what Jenny should
doing on her first season. Like she should be just like having fun arguments and fights with people.
Not like, I don't know. Having to like address, yeah, which I feel like the same thing happened to like
Tiffany on Dallas. Like she had to like defend her culture when she should just be able to like live.
So yeah, this was a good episode. This was a good talk between us as usual.
Amen. Thank you for having me. Of course. This was fun.
