Betches Media presents.
Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With me, Dylan Hafer.
We're going to check me, boo.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention It All podcast.
Oh, it's Friday, and it feels so good to be in the studio, in the air conditioning.
It's like 90 degrees all of a sudden.
I don't feel like I, I didn't sign up for this.
But we have a lot to get into today.
It feels like every Friday there's a lot going on,
But this week, especially Thursday, was just a barrage of news and updates.
And we are going to get into all of it.
We've got Real Housewives of Atlanta with some reunion news also happening.
We've got Summer House with, of course, some news there too that we'll get into.
A new season of Real Housewives of Orange County is around the corner.
And oh, my God, it feels so good.
Going to touch on NextGen NYC premiere a little bit.
And I also went to their premiere party earlier this week.
So a couple little fun tidbits from being on the ground there.
And yeah, we're going to get back into Love Hotel.
It's been a few weeks I've caught up.
And I have some thoughts on Love Hotel.
So stick around for that.
Before we get into everything, I just want to give everyone a little reminder that we now
have full video episodes on YouTube every Tuesday.
It's always on on YouTube.
YouTube.com slash at Always On Betches.
We had Fraser from below deck earlier this week, brand new season.
of Below Deck is back, and so I had fun catching up with Fraser.
And next week, we have Riley and Ariana from NextGen NYC coming on, and we have some more fun
guests planned in the hopper for the rest of the summer.
So make sure that you subscribe to Always on YouTube for those video episodes every Tuesday.
And you never know, maybe some extra bonus content over there, too.
I want to start with Real Housewives of Orange County, because Orange County, it just occupies
such a special place in the altar of housewives. And some people sleep on it. You know,
it's a lot to catch up on. It's, that episode count has to be getting close to, what,
300 at this point? It's an undertaking, but 19 seasons in, yes, 19, we have arrived at a place
that I feel really good about. Season 18 was so good, you guys. It really just clicked into
place so well, Jen Padranti, my queen.
I love you so much.
Katie was a messy newbie.
We still had Shannon, Tamara, Heather, Gina, Emily.
Everyone was firing on all cylinders.
And suffice to say Bravo was happy just like I was,
because they're bringing back every single person from this cast.
For season 19, with the exception,
friend of Alexis Bellino has left the building, as we know,
replaced by none other than Gretchen Rossi.
And there are a couple of interesting stats that I was kind of thinking about
with this Real Housewives of Orange County
season 19 announcement.
First of all, Gretchen Rossi,
it has been like 12 years
since she was last on the cast of Orange County.
She's popped up as a guest appearance
a couple of times in the interim,
but 12 years, I think 11 seasons
since she was a housewife on the show
and now she's a friend of,
she's got a cast photo once again.
That is, if not the longest,
one of the longest gaps we've seen between somebody leaving a show and coming back and having
a real role in the cast, not just popping up at a party.
And this is fascinating to me because Gretchen is somebody who seemed like she was in sort
of the former reality star wilderness for a really long time.
And then she was supposed to be on girls' trip Morocco.
You know, may it rest in peace or whatever.
We're never seeing that.
But she finally got her orange slice.
She's not holding a full orange, but I feel like, you know, she's eating like a little
Clementine in the corner.
And I'm happy for her.
I'm really, really curious to see how that goes.
I did, I let out a really good hearty laugh in the trailer when Emily Simpson says that
Gretchen dipped herself in formaldehyde because, yeah, yeah, I see it.
I do see it.
But it seems like Gretchen's feud with Tamara, you know, is being hacked out of the block
of ice as we speak. Things have not smoothed over there. I can't wait to see it. But another
interesting fact about Real Housewives of Orange County this season, in 19 seasons, this is the
first time that there has not been at least one new housewife on a season of OC. Every single
year, if you look at the casting history, there's several seasons when they've had two new wives,
you know, every season they've had at least one. And this is the
only time, save for the Alexis and Gretchen swap, that we have just kept the same cast and
pressed play on a new season. And to me, that is so impressive that 19 seasons into this franchise,
they've been able to recapture enough energy to just keep plugging along. And we see that
with franchises, you know, like Salt Lake City has had great consistency with their casting. Potomac for a long
time was super consistent. New Jersey had some years where they were just keeping the same cast
for two or three seasons in a row. It's a tough thing to do, but man, I, I salute them and I can't
wait to see it. July 10th, July 10th. Looks like Katie is in the hot seat for a lot of this season.
Oh, I can't wait. Oh, I can't wait. It's good to have good things to look forward to.
Miami's coming back next week. It's going to be a hot housewife summer. I'm ready for it.
But this summer, it'll be fun for those reasons, but it's sad because.
we found out yesterday that Paige DeSorbo.
Paige DeSorbo, the bedbug queen herself, will not be returning to Summerhouse for the future seasons.
Now, this is not entirely surprising.
Paige is somebody, she's been on the show for seven seasons, which feels like such a long time.
Summerhouse, for some reason, the seasons feel like they add up.
I don't know.
It feels like a longer time that seven seasons of Housewives, it's like, okay, great, join the club.
Okay, Gina, yeah, 17, great, good, you hung around.
Summer House, I'm like, we've watched these people go through a lot.
We've spent the pandemic with them.
We've watched them, you know, fight, break up, make out, hook up, so many different permutations.
And Page obviously has just taken off into a different career echelon than this show really lives in.
And so I'm sad because I think Paige is so good at being on the show.
And I think that she is somebody who, even when she is not central to the drama, is such a good commentator, is such a good reality check.
She gives good confessional.
She is just her facial expressions, her sarcasm, her sense of humor really is such a great element of these last few seasons.
And that's a tough thing to replace.
And I think that knowing that page isn't going to be there, we've talked about, it doesn't
really seem like there's too much of a reason for Gabby to continue sticking around.
Lexi's on a little bit of, you know, uneven footing after this reunion.
So that, I mean, you have Sierra and Amanda, kind of the stalwarts of the, of the house
otherwise.
But there's just not a ton of really, you know, great energy coming from the cast right now.
that you can really build the show around.
And so they're going to have their work cut out for them with casting a little bit
because I do think you need to kind of look at what is this overall group bringing
and how can we replace this really big piece of the puzzle that we're losing.
I did think, so on part two of the reunion, I was really pleasantly surprised.
I actually, so I watched, I was late to watch part two.
So I watched it after Paige had already made her announcement.
And with that in mind, watching the whole chunk of the reunion where Paige was talking about
her breakup with Craig, things in their relationship specifically, things that she had had to
lie about or not talk about, to protect him, to cover for him, all of those kinds of things,
I was really, really impressed with the amount of openness and candor that Paige brought to that
reunion, knowing that she had probably already decided she wasn't coming back to the show.
Because somebody in her position, I mean, the whole thing with her leaving is that it makes
sense for her. I'm sad for us and, you know, concerned a little bit about the show,
but Paige doesn't need to worry about where she's going to get her check from, who's going to
care about her anymore. She's thriving. If anything, the longer she stays on the show,
the more she shares about her life, that's just creating potential opportunities for people in the
audience to turn on you, for brands to see something they don't like, for, you know, for some
situation to come up to make you look bad. We see it all the time. So I was, I was really,
really happy with Paige coming to the reunion and still kind of putting it all out there when it
comes to her relationship with Craig because that was, it was so interesting to watch her finally
be able to just be honest about Craig getting kicked out of Kyle and Amanda's wedding.
I mean, that is lore from three years ago at this point.
I stopped thinking about that a while ago.
And also, you know, some of the sprits and the lover boy stuff, as much as I don't need to be like,
you know, caping for lover boy on this podcast, it does seem like,
Craig was like kind of a dipshit when it came to that dynamic and that he was making things up
or saying things he didn't know what they meant or just kind of talking out of his ass.
And that for Paige for such a long time, it was one thing if she didn't feel like she needed to be
like a soldier for Craig and fighting his battles.
But she also probably wasn't going to come out and be like, yeah, sorry, he's lying and he's
wrong and he doesn't know what he's talking about.
It's just not really how relationships work.
And so at this reunion note for Kyle talking about this, and he's like, yeah, you know, it meant a lot when Paige texted me team lover boy.
These people, this place.
How do we get here?
It's just, it's so silly.
But at the same time, it's entertaining.
And Paige, you know, she's refusing to say Craig's name.
She says they'll never speak again.
And he's like, well, BravoCon will be interesting this year.
I'm like, is Paige going to that?
I don't think we're seeing page of BravoCon this year.
I mean, I could be wrong.
Maybe she and Hannah will get their own, you know, giggly squad show or something.
I don't think she's going to be, like, hitting up the summerhouse panel or like,
at Andy's Legends ball.
Why would she?
If I were her, I mean, I guess it's like, yeah, like, respect the place that got you to
where you are or whatever, but I don't know.
I feel like she's probably going to try and distance herself a little bit and then maybe
come back at some point.
Because she did say in her announcement,
you know, like, thank you to Bravo, NBC, all of that.
You haven't seen the last of me.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Like, there could be more Bravo in the future for Paige.
But in terms of being like a summer house camper,
those days are over.
And I think it's for the best.
And with that in mind,
I want to give Paige this week's award,
which is the Garcel Bouvet Award for quitting while you're ahead.
Just like Garcell, I think Paige,
read the tea leaves.
She licked her finger and put it up.
to the sky and felt the way the wind was blowing and said, this is my time. I'm going to quit
while I'm ahead. I'm going to go out on top. I'm going to have career opportunities. I'm going to
get my bag doing kind of whatever I want. Will she follow the Garcel route and promptly unfollow
all her Bravo co-stars? I don't think so. Garcel's exit was like a little less on great terms with the cast.
Paige, I think, has made her bed and left the room really tidy.
She swiffered before she left the house.
And that's really nice of her.
And I think that she has a great future.
Paige, congrats on seven seasons.
Now, the Summer House reunion, aside from that, a couple things I want to shout out.
First of all, Kyle and Amanda.
Now, I know that people watch this show and are constantly like preying on the downfall of
Kyle and Amanda's marriage. I know that people have strong, strong opinions and think they are
the least compatible people in the world and they obviously hate each other and Amanda is miserable
and all of that. I thought that the way that they spoke about their relationship at the reunion
actually made them come across as like a stronger couple than they seemed to me before.
because they were very open about some of the things that they have gone through.
And, you know, Amanda, you know, being depressed and getting on medication and all of that
and talking about how that's affected her decision process of when it might be the right time
to have a child and Kyle being open about his work and how they've both kind of been
focused on their own things.
And yeah, like some of that is a little concerning given the fact that he's, you know,
rounding the bend into his mid-40s and is still just kind of having this.
hypothetical exit strategy that will then allow him to think about having kids.
I don't know how that's going to work out for them in the long term, but I'll just say that I was,
I was, um, heartened to see the way that they were really open and, um, open and honest,
I thought at the reunion. And also, Andy kind of sharing his perspective on deciding to have
kids and how he came to that decision. And I thought, we don't. We don't. We don't. We don't,
often see Andy in a position at reunions where he's really sort of engaging his own personal
life and experiences with what the people on the cast are going through. Obviously, he, you know,
will offer opinions or, you know, questions or whatever. But for him to say, like, when I decided
to have my kid, like, I was turning 50 and I was like, if I want to do it, I have to do it now
because I'm getting old.
And for Andy to be able to look at Kyle and say, look, like you're not turning 50 next year,
but you can't just wait five more years before you think about this again.
I thought that was really interesting.
Also, Andy had his birthday earlier this week, and he and Whitney Suddler-Smith from Southern Charm
have the exact same birthday, same year.
1968, they both turned 57.
Happy birthday boys.
Fellow Gemini's.
Gemini's, fun times.
The only other thing I really want to touch on for the summer house reunion, not to beat a dead horse.
But hey, they're still beating it, so I guess it's not dead.
More Jesse and Lexi.
They were determined for this storyline to stretch from quite literally the tippity top to the tippity bottom of this season.
And Lexi's just real mad, which is fine.
She can be mad if she wants to.
She says, Jesse, gaslit, manipulated, isolated, isolated.
I mean, we know how she feels at this point.
I thought it was really interesting when they went to a break and Jesse had left the stage,
but Lexi was still sitting on the couch with, I think, like, Gabby and Sierra and Amanda,
and she's basically like talking to them on the side, basically being like, hey, like,
I would like to be friends with you.
You know, I just felt like blah, blah, blah, blah.
See, the thing is this is what's interesting, is that like, so they filmed the show, Summerhouse in the summer in case it can be tricky.
They filmed in the summer.
I think they wrapped up filming in September.
Jesse and Lexi were broken up that whole time since then till now.
It's a little strange to me that Lexi is just now at the reunion seeming to kind of decide that she really wants to put out.
effort into building friendships with these women, I just think that a little would have gone a long
way in the fall, in the winter, in the spring, because now we're rounding back to summer,
and it's like, oh, maybe now we can start pursuing a friendship. It just feels like, I feel like
she may have miscalculated a little bit. Because the one thing about the summer house cast,
not all of them, not all the time, but like these people are friends with each other. They see
each other, even if it's just, even if it's mostly at events or, you know, at Bravo stuff or whatever,
like, it's one of the more friendly casts on Bravo. And so it feels like Lexi has kind of
missed out on a big window of that that happens outside of filming. And so if I were Sierra or
Amanda or, you know, Gabby seems nicer. So whatever. I just don't know if I would feel like that was
genuine and authentic if it's like at the reunion during the break being like,
hey, can we, can we be friends now, please?
Yeah, like, starting now.
I don't know.
We'll see.
I don't know how well that's going to go for her.
I wish her the best.
We'll see about next season.
And that brings us to Lindsay.
Lindsay Hubbard, who showed up to the reunion looking bronzed and glittery and gorgeous.
and she shares the news that she and Turner have put the romantic side of their relationship on pause for now.
And this happened a few months ago.
Basically the entire time the season has been airing, she and Turner have not been together.
And it seems like the only person on the cast that knew this was Gabby.
And it's interesting because it almost seemed like Lindsay wasn't 100% sure she was going to clarify this.
until Andy was basically like, wait, so why are, so you don't live together.
And Lindsay's like, no.
And he's like, and why is that?
And she's like, well, we're not together.
It's like, oh, pardon.
Sorry.
So they haven't been together for months, but he still sleeps over like half the week.
I know having a, you know, they have an infant.
I'm not judging anybody's like system.
I do wonder, though, like, whenever somebody's like, oh, we're not together, but it's very like
Taylor and Dakota coded from Secret Lives in More than,
where it's like, oh, well, yeah, like we still hook up.
We still, you know, there's like intimacy.
I don't know if Lindsay and Turner are like getting it on like that.
I don't want to think about that.
But, no, it was interesting of her to share.
It's interesting that she kept it from everyone in the cast for months.
And Lindsay is very upfront about how she doesn't know, like, exactly what her future
looks like on the show at the house, whatever.
we'll see.
I didn't think we were really going to get clarity on that at the reunion because it's still
probably another, God, well, I guess it's only a few weeks before they would start filming.
Now I'm stressed.
What's going to happen?
What's going to happen?
I don't know.
We'll find out.
We'll find out together.
But, man, Summer House, good reunion.
Two parts.
I love that.
Two parts was all we needed.
It was great.
It was great.
It was not filari.
It was not boring.
two parts. It didn't overstay its welcome. We have like a deleted scenes episode next week,
like behind the, I can't remember what they're calling it. There's extra footage coming next week.
TBD, if that's, if that feels like it matters. We'll see. I'm skeptical.
So good, so good, so good.

Let's talk about Real Housewives of Atlanta
Specifically the fact that they taped their reunion this week
Kenya not invited to the reunion
No surprise there
But the surprise that came this week
was that Kenya wasn't the only person missing from the reunion because Britt Eaddy didn't
fucking go. It was reported. You know, Bravo posted their little seating chart for the reunion
with the faces and the bubbles. Cynthia's there. Fadra's there. Everybody else is there. No,
no Brit. It was reported initially that Britt had decided to skip the reunion amid a feud
with her with the ladies. And can I just say like, that's the point, Yolanda.
Like, amid a feud with the ladies is the perfect state to go to the reunion.
Yeah.
The season happens.
There's unresolved stuff.
And then amid a feud with the ladies, you go to the reunion to work things out or to, like, fuck up their lives or do your worst.
Amid a feud with the ladies is not an excuse to skip the reunion.
That is a reason to go to the reunion.
Guns blazing.
We know Brits Packin.
But she posted on her Instagram story.
It wasn't just the reunion.
She posted about the photo that Kenya showed on that poster board that led to, you know, you know what happened.
She has an update.
Britt says, the events of this season have devastated me.
And while I cannot say much right now, I do want to set the record straight about one thing.
The graphic sexual photo surrounding the events in episode five.
that photo was not me.
She goes on to say, you know, obviously she had left the room at the actual event before the photo was shown.
So the way that it was described to her, she assumed it was somehow a photo of her, but she had not physically seen the photo.
And just recently, somebody showed her the photo, and it's not her.
According to her.
Now, okay.
Britt. Britt does not seem like the world's most trustworthy person.
I will say that.
I did, you know, we saw her bear a naked shapewear party last week.
That was a mess.
This week they're bringing donations for the grenade a hurricane.
And she shows up with, you know, one little, one little moving box.
And they're like, okay, great.
Like, do you want us to help you grab the rest?
And she was like, oh, no, somebody's going to come drop it off later.
And they're like, the deadlines in an hour.
And she's like, okay.
The box isn't even full.
Brit, I mean, I said this earlier in this season.
Britt is somebody who is so clearly pretending that she's like got it like that.
And this whole reunion photo nonsense situation to me just kind of adds to the feeling that she is kind of just not real.
There are so many, you know, smoke and mirrors and question marks and questionable things.
And it's like, we've known you for like three months.
You've been on TV for like 15 weeks.
Like this is a lot.
And I mean, not going to the reunion is a tough one to come back from in the first place.
But then when you're saying that, okay, so Britt made the comments about guns earlier in the season.
Then Kenya retaliated with the poster board.
Obviously, not a good thing to do.
Not cute.
We've talked about it.
Kenya shouldn't have done that.
But the whole thing was predicated on the idea that.
that she shared these explicit photos of Brit.
And now Brit is saying, that wasn't me.
It was never a photo of me.
So suddenly it's like, okay, so yeah, obviously Kenya did a bad thing.
I'm not saying that she shouldn't have had any consequences.
But is it the same level of crime if you think you're exposing your cast member,
but no cast member was actually exposed?
I don't know.
I mean, that's like a, it sounds like an L-SAT question or like, I haven't taken the L-SAT,
but like that's what I imagine it is.
It's like, would you sue that person?
I don't know.
But it's just unfortunate because it's like so much of the second half of the season was reworked
because Britt had gone through this traumatic thing.
And then it's like, okay, the thing felt traumatic, but it wasn't actually what you,
what we thought it was.
It's just a mess.
That's the thing.
It's a mess, plain and simple.
Britt says that she looks forward to seeking accountability and moving past this dark time
in her life.
Seeking accountability for what?
Where?
Like, what are we doing?
You have been on Housewives for two-thirds of a season.
This is the platform.
This is the chance.
This is your time.
Nobody else is like paying attention.
You're not going to get invited on like the view to share your story.
Jenna Bush-Hager isn't going to call you and be like, hey, girl, do you want to
guest host the Today Show and clear the air about what happened with Kenya.
No, like, this is the time.
And she's not there.
She, you know, I'm glad that, like, Brit has been the most underwhelming of the
newbies on Atlanta this season because, to me, if they just, like, drop her after the season,
it's kind of whatever.
The big question is, does this clear a path for Kenya to return?
And I think the answer is maybe.
I think it will depend kind of where.
the network and also the other ladies in the group kind of decide that this situation falls.
You know, if all of them decide after this reunion to be like, fuck Brit, we don't know that
woman, who is she?
Kenya girl, get your ass over here.
We love you.
I could see that.
I could see them still saying, well, she still did something bad.
Let's give it a year.
But I do think that this overall makes Kenya's eventual return to Atlanta whenever it happens.
Less of a question mark. And I'm for that. And to Britt Edy, I would just say, she ain't no diva.
That's the, to me, that's the headline here. She talks a big game. She wants us to think that she, you know, has it all going on. She ain't no diva. And it's unfortunate. You hate to see it. But Atlanta, I'm enjoying. They're on their trip to Grenada now. Drew really getting it from all angles. Portia's mad at her.
Mia's mad at her.
Kelly,
Kelly is calling out the fact that everybody's mad at her except Cynthia,
which like,
I love me some Cynthia,
but like,
you gotta have more than just Cynthia on your side.
Cynthia's here for a good time,
not a long time right now.
So you need a peach holder who believes a word that you say.
And Shamiya is out here with the Drew Nokia allegations.
She just lies and lies and lies.
and it's it's not looking great for Drew I mean Drew has just been through it man she and
Portia are now kind of just going back and forth with the you filmed with my ex accusations and it's
like ladies ladies at a certain point we both filmed with the ex we both you know I think we all
were in the studio with Dennis at one point or another can we just it's not that interesting
And like, Portia is trying to litigate the, the filming with Ralph because she says, oh, well, actually Shamiya was filming with Ralph and I showed up and he was there.
And so then I sat and we did talk, but I didn't.
It's like, it's getting a little bit to, like, we're getting out our Google calendars and, like, arguing about logistics.
And it's like, at a certain point, like, it's not that weird that these men show up on the show.
I don't need Ralph to have a solo confessional producers.
editors, if you're listening, I don't need Ralph to have a solo confessional.
Just like I don't need Jack's rehab video diary, throw the man in the trash.
That's the thing.
But like Ralph popping up, whatever, I don't have the energy to be super mad about it.
But Shamiya is, Shamiya's very upset with Drew.
And this goes back to, you know, something that Drew said on the radio and it's a lot.
Or no, Shemia called Drew a liar on the radio, which like, who hasn't called Drew a liar?
on the radio at this point?
I mean, it's par for the course.
But Shamiya says she tried to clear things up at Brits event,
and then that was when Drew stood on 10 toes down,
calling her a lapdog.
And Drew says that Shemia's act of lapdogness was telling Portia,
the comment that she made about paying for Pilar's college.
And Shemia, rightly so, feels like that was justified.
And Fadra, I mean, Fadra has not really like,
clocked in for this season yet. But the one thing I liked that Fadra said was, did you really think
that you were having an intimate conversation with Shamiya about her best friend? Like, that's
your fault. If you thought that you could say something crazy about Portia and Shemia just would
like tuck it into the vault and never bring it up again, it's not the way like, that's not the way
any of this works. Yeah, Fadra, I'm, I love Fadra. Fadra, she's so funny. She says something in this
episode when she meets Angela. She says, Angela.
is the oldest looking young woman she's ever seen, which is just devastating.
Just a lethal, a lethal read there.
But Fadra, she has a tough task this season, which is, obviously, she was brought in under extenuating
circumstances and given this peach to come back with not very much time left in the season.
And I like having her there.
The thing for me is that it remains to be seen.
whether she will be able to sort of meaningfully make herself a part of this group with the time
left in this season. You know, I love to hear her one-liners. I love to see her facial expressions.
It's not that I don't want her around. It's that I do feel like we need, we need to like see more
sides of her than just making a comment about Angela looking old or just kind of, you know,
saying that Drew Sedora has been in a lot of black movies,
but you don't think you've actually, you know, ever seen her.
Like, we need Fadra, the wife and, well, she's not a wife,
but we need Fadra like the mother, the person, not kind of like the character.
And we'll see.
I mean, it's been a long time since Vager has been on Housewives.
You know, she had a couple seasons on Married to Medicine that wasn't her best showing,
I would say.
but also she just never really bought into really, really getting into it with that group in a personal way.
And married to medicine is a show that even more than Housewives really demands that level of personal connection.
But Housewives needs it too.
We need the life story.
We need a little more.
And I hope that Fadra kind of has time to get there.
But we'll see.
Okay, quickly, quickly, quickly, I want to touch on NextGen NYC before getting into Love Hotel.
Just the premiere, I thought it was cute.
I thought it was, you know, something a little fresh for the summer.
We'll see, we'll see.
Love Hotel's a big wait and see for me.
I think everybody should watch.
Let's all agree to watch the first like two or three episodes.
Give it a chance, you know, go in with an open mind and a, you know, open heart, attitude, whatever.
On our YouTube channel on Tuesday, our next video episode coming out on Tuesday is with Ariana and Riley.
the kiddos themselves, they're all grown up.
I had a good time talking to them.
Ariana especially, I feel like is kind of the star of this show so far.
In the first episode she's talking about, Kim stole her money.
Kim stole her money.
I'm like, how is this not a lawsuit?
I know.
I know.
Suing your mom is like a whole thing.
Not most people's favorite thing to do, but she stole the money.
She's like, I've been on TV since I was five,
and then I started being an influencer when I was a teenager,
and I would make a lot of money from these brand deals.
And it's all gone.
It's crazy.
It's crazy.
Other than that, I mean, it's like, it's fun to see everyone.
Still meeting the new people.
Like, Crypto Boy is giving me a weird vibe.
Google him if you want to Charlie's a core.
Wild ride.
But then also there's this girl, Georgia, who doesn't wash her hands.
Like, that's seemingly like what she's deciding to go with as her personality.
Interesting choice, especially in New York City.
Like, I know that these children don't seem to be like,
subway riders necessarily or like, you know, people of the people of the people. But like,
even if you're getting in and out of the Uber, wash your fucking hands. Oh, well, so I went to the
party on Monday night. It was a great party. You know, Bravo does a great job with these events.
It was really interesting to see who showed up. I knew Riley wasn't able to be there. So I was sad
not to see her. Obviously, Candy also wasn't there. But Brooks was there. The
entire Marx family. The entire Marks family. We got the brother, the sister, Seth and Meredith.
Oh, the hottest family, just the hottest family. Chloe was wearing like this dress that basically
had like glitter starfish on the boobs. And I'm like, sure, love. How is it going with Crypto Boy?
Has there been a second date? I would love to see Meredith talking to Crypto Boy. Like that meeting of
the minds? I don't know. I had a nice little chat with Meredith. Meredith, so somebody gave me
advice a couple years ago that I'll pass on to you now, that if you're trying to make conversation
or small talk or whatever with somebody who's rich or, you know, in that world, that the best way
to keep the conversation going is just to ask them where they've traveled recently or where,
if they have any travel plans coming up. And usually it's just kind of off to the races. And Meredith
Marks is the best person that I have come across to use this on. I've done it twice now.
And both times. Perfect, perfect level of small talk conversation. Meredith's like, I was like,
oh, are you spending most of the summer in New York? And she's like, well, you know, most of June.
But I have to go back to Salt Lake for something. And then most of, you know, July and August,
mostly in Europe. And it's like, amazing. Great. Have a great summer. No, Meredith is lovely.
I always like seeing her.
I talked to Ariana.
I was sad.
Kim's Olsiak wasn't there.
I know that she probably had furniture to sell or, you know, beat up Chanel bags to try and sell on her Instagram stories.
But Kim, I would have loved to see you.
And then, of course, Gio was there.
As were Teresa and Louis.
Louis' energy.
I've seen him in person a handful of times.
The vibe is just...
It's what you would think it would be.
That's what I'll say.
That's what I'll say.
I did see Louis and Seth Marks, like, dapping each other up in, like, the straightest, manliest way, which was just, like, a little unsettling to me, but also, like, a little bit hot.
I don't know.
I mean, Seth Marks is hot.
Louis, no, but, like, Seth Marks.
That's a good-looking man.
No, we'll talk about next gen.
Maybe in a couple of weeks, we'll catch up on next gen.
See kind of what's percolating with that season.
But yeah, I'm liking it.
I'm giving it a chance.
Good sleep is everything.
That's why Ali's science back support is made with a blend of melatonin and L-D-N-Ean for both kiddos and grown-ups.

Our next segment is brought to you by A24's Materialists
in theaters June 13th.
Materialists is a sharp modern rom-com set in New York City, and it's all about a woman facing some tough choices about what she wants out of her relationship, something the ladies on Love Hotel know all about.
Now, I had the chance to check out materialists already. It was one of my most anticipated movies of the year.
I loved Celine Song's last movie past lives, and let me tell you, Materialists is something completely different, but also it kind of hits the same notes in a perfect way.
It feels like the perfect 2025 update to all of your favorite rom-coms with characters and plot lines that feel fresh and relevant.
You think it's a totally different energy from past lives.
You're watching it.
You're having a good time.
It's a little sexy.
It's a little funny.
But then the emotions kind of sneak up on you just a little bit toward the end.
And I had a good time.
I really enjoyed it.
I can't wait to see it again with friends in theaters.
It's perfect casting.
I love Dakota Johnson.
and I feel like this movie plays to her strengths in the best way.
Pedro Pascal, Chris Evans, you really can't go wrong.
And it's got a great script that highlights how we don't always want what we think we should.
Materialists is about how falling in love can be hard, embarrassing, and a little messy.
And this is something the Ladies of Love Hotel know all about.
So while you get your tickets to see Materialists in theaters, let's get into the latest drama at the Love Hotel.
Okay, so it's been a few weeks since we've talked about Love Hotel.
So I think it's the perfect time to kind of like gather our thoughts, get caught up a little bit, evaluate.
What are the vibes at this resort in Mexico?
Because I'm not so sure.
At the beginning of the season, I was a little trepidacious about how this show was going to go.
You know, what is the, what is the goal?
What is the expectation?
What are we all trying to get out of this experience?
And now that I've caught up, I've got to say, I don't know that I've gotten answers to those questions.
I am enjoying the watch.
I'm enjoying the experience of being in Mexico for one hour every week with Shannon, Luann, Ashley, and Giselle.
But I'm not quite sure that everybody's on the same page about what they're supposed to be getting out of this experience.
How seriously we're supposed to be taking it?
Because it kind of feels like, you know, when there's like a girl group or a boy band or something and they're getting dressed up to go to an event together?
I'm sorry, this is about Fifth Harmony, really.
And they all look like they're going to a different event.
Now, the ladies on Love Hotel, the fashions are fashioning.
They all look great, all their floral maxi dresses.
But I feel like vibes-wise, they're all kind of there for something different.
Like the palpable horniness that is radiating off of Ashley and Luann, I love to see it.
I love that, you know, Ashley is turned on when Ralph is growling while they're kissing.
I love that Luanne is intrigued by, you know, perhaps her gentleman caller have it being well endowed.
Putting a shirt over the camera when they're in the hotel room, I love to see it.
But then it's like, Giselle and Shannon are kind of on a different wavelength.
Like, Giselle, I think, is truly just there to create a TV show.
She's like giving out her keys strategically to help other people.
And she's like, I guess I could hang out with Phil.
He lives in Bel Air.
He's got a Rolls voice.
That sounds nice.
we could go on a date together, sure. Will I let him give me a, you know, gentlemanly smooch?
Maybe. Do I think that Chazelle really is like feeling activated, let's say, by Phil?
No, I don't. And would you? And then Shannon, Shannon has now spent pretty much the entire show with Earl the Pearl.
And look, Earl seems like a nice guy. He may not eat vegetables. He may not have his refurb.
find taste as Shannon Bador, but like this seems like a nice guy.
But I just feel like it makes me a little sad.
Because I feel like Shannon came on this show, and I wanted this to be how Shannon got her groove back.
I wanted Shannon to be eating at a buffet of men.
I wanted her to be having a great time.
And I feel like she's just kind of like having a pleasant time.
I feel like she's having a good enough time with Earl.
And she feels like Earl feels like her safety blanket.
And I'm like, I don't want you to have a safety blanket.
I want you to like have the time of your life.
I want you to like be at the love hotel and experiencing all that the love hotel has to offer.
And I think that maybe the issue I'm having is I don't know if the love hotel is offering enough to these women.
Because these women, first of all, there's four of them.
That's a lot of women.
They need a lot of choices.
And also they're beautiful.
They're successful.
They're, you know, maybe a little high maintenance.
They each have different personalities, different things that they're looking for.
And over the course of the season, we've had like, you know, a few bunches of seven or eight guys.
And I just think that it's not quite enough of a spectrum.
Because it feels like for most of these ladies, maybe with the exception of Ashley,
which we'll get to the Ashleyverse.
but for Giselle, for Shannon, a little bit for Luann, it only feels like they've really had like
two guys the whole time that they're even like more than slightly interested in.
And I just was kind of hoping that this would be a little bit more of like, um, just like a love
fest, a love hotel, you know, just smorgasbord of men. And I have a feeling that's kind of what the
women were hoping for. And it's just,
been like a little bit, a little bit light on the like abundance of guys. And that brings us to
Ashley because she has these two guys, Waleigh and Ralph, that she has been sort of, you know,
vacillating between for the last few weeks. And it feels like my girl Ashley Darby is being
just a little bit judged for this. And I will not stand for it. You are at the Love Hotel.
I don't want to hear about how Ashley's playing games with Waleigh because she's, you know,
tonging down Ralph, you're at the love hotel. You're on a reality dating show. She's dating. God forbid a
woman go on a reality dating show and date. Imagine that. It's crazy. I understand if you were in a real
life setting and you went on a one-on-one date with Wal-A and then you went back to the hotel,
didn't brush your teeth and kissed Ralph, that would seem a little bit, you know, wow, she's really
wild and out. You're at the love hotel. Time is short. These women have
what, like one week with these guys, Max, you got to strike while the iron is hot. And let me tell
you, Ralph's iron, I think it's hot. Anybody who doesn't understand the appeal of that man,
he, like, that's a sexy, that's a fine ass man. That's a sexy man. That's a sexy man. And it doesn't
matter that he's a silver fox, that he's 60 years old. First of all, we know Ashley likes him a little
older, but second of all, he's hot. They keep doing the photo comparison of Ralph and Michael Darby
to like prove a point that Ashley likes old guys. And it's like, Michael Darby who? Michael
Darby looks, you know, I don't need to go too hard on Michael Darby. We all know. Ralph is like
a hunk. He's so hot. He's so fine. And the heart wants what it wants. The body wants what it
once Ashley, Ashley likes Ralph. And I think that it says a lot about Waleigh, that he's almost
acting entitled, that he's like, yo, it's crazy that Ashley, that I'm right here and Ashley is like
spending time with Ralph. It's like, mm-hmm. It is crazy, but ooh, I would make the same choice.
I do not blame her. Now, this, like, this kind of brings me to my question about sort of the thesis of
this show. We have, I think, like, two episodes left. And I'm not sure what is the end goal.
Because it feels like, like I said at the beginning, everybody's kind of on their own journey.
I think that, you know, Shannon is like never planning to see Earl again after they leave
Mexico and that's totally fine. You know, Giselle, I think she's not even going to remember
any of these guys' names a month from now. But Ashley, meanwhile, is like weighing the pros
and cons of Waleigh might want kids someday and I don't know if I want more kids. So would it be better
to go with Ralph even though he lives in Tennessee and do I see myself relocating from D.C. to Tennessee?
Maybe not, but also maybe. It's like, that's not happening. You're living in fantasy land.
None of these relationships feel like they're actually intended to like stay afloat in the real world.
So it's kind of funny to watch the different levels of detail that are being applied because it's like Ashley is asking herself these serious life questions and nobody else is even pretending.
Like nobody else is there's no rings happening.
There's no, you know, nobody's falling in love except, you know, Luanne's gentleman, I guess.
But he's like, that's my girlfriend.
And she's like, no, no, not yet.
I don't know.
The Love Hotel.
you never know what's going to happen. You never know. You never know. But I'm enjoying it. It's a good time.
We can all have fun at the Love Hotel. They might not have Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans on Love Hotel.
Ooh, they certainly don't. But you know who does? Dakota Johnson's character and materialists.
We don't get enough great comedies anymore. And materialists is the new entry into the rom-com canon that I have been craving.
It's the perfect movie to kick off the summer. So grab your friends, a plus one. Maybe somebody who owes you a very
expensive dinner and see materialists opening June 13th only in theaters.
