Mention It All - RHONY’s Return & Dubai’s Offline Drama
Episode Date: August 14, 2024After a lengthy wait, we finally have a trailer for RHONY season 15, and Dylan starts the episode by sharing his reactions. He also questions whether this second reboot season could be the big test fo...r who stays around for the long haul. Speaking of second seasons, he digs back into RHODubai after a few weeks away, and things are a bit out of sorts. The Bali trip brings new material, but also… does anyone care? The real Dubai drama, however, is happening in real time on social media, and Dylan tries to make sense of the new rift between Sara and Saba. Learn more about your ad choices. Mention It All
A Bravo by Betches podcast
We don't say that
But now we said it
With me, Dylan Hafer
We're going to check me both
Hey everyone
Welcome back to the mention
It all podcast
It is Wednesday
And we have finally got
A new housewife's trailer
Feels like there have been
Half a dozen franchises
We've been waiting for
Somebody just who's going to go first
And we do indeed
Have a Roney trailer
That we are going to talk about today
we also have a new episode of Dubai to talk about.
It's been honestly close to a month since I've talked about Real Houseways of Dubai.
They took a week off and then I think Emily Simpson was here last Wednesday.
So it feels like it's been a minute since we have talked about Dubai.
But their season actually on and off camera has gotten a bit spicier since the last time we checked in.
There's some social media drama to talk about.
Sarah's been doing press and there's some updates on her relationship status.
So I actually feel like this week is kind of the perfect time to clock back in for Dubai as they round out this Bali trip.
So I'm excited to get into that.
This week has felt like a weird little hangover week.
Like the Olympics ended over the weekend.
I know we've talked about the Olympics.
I'm not going to talk about canoeing anymore, I promise.
But I just feel like it's kind of like, okay, what do we do now?
What are we talking about?
We've got Jersey just ended with a little bit of a weird vibe.
Dubai is kind of, you know, it's still happening.
Like I said, there's some interesting stuff going on there.
But like what's like happening in the world?
What are we doing?
What are we all here for?
What are we all talking about?
I did have a chance on Monday night.
I got to see the new alien movie.
This is super random.
Alien Romulus.
It comes out this Friday.
I thought it was really good.
But I don't know if this is just me, if this is my like messed up brain from watching too
much housewives.
But when I'm watching like a movie or a TV show sometimes,
about a specific situation, I have to like envision which housewives are like different housewives
in that situation. So if you've seen alien, it's like they're on this spaceship and there's this
like, you know, creature, this alien that's trying to get them. And I'm like, which, how would
various housewives fare in this situation? Like I'm picturing Sutton like running around this
spaceship trying to like shoot this like xenomorph looking thing. And it's just,
I would recommend next time you're watching like a horror movie or an action movie or like, you know, some something like that, just like, just close your eyes for a second.
Take a deep breath. We're doing like a mindfulness exercise right now. Imagine like Countess Luann running through the halls of a spaceship having to like get away from a mysterious creature.
And I think that is, it's just a beautiful thing to really.
stop and take stock of and to think about all the different possibilities. Like they should be
casting, like, Peacock should be making like an original sci-fi movie starring Portia Williams. Like,
why aren't we doing something like that? I know that Peacock, if now that the Olympics are over,
if you're looking for ideas for programming to keep all those new subscribers, send, like,
have the housewives do squid game. Like, there are so many possibilities. I think that we should be
putting our housewives in peril more, whether it's real peril or whether it's like,
like apparel, you know, simulated situation.
I just think I would like to see it.
I would like to see it.
And I think that everybody would like to see it.
But anyway, that's my half-baked take about the new alien movie that I think it would be better with housewives in it.
But let's talk about Roney.
Roney coming back Tuesday, October 1st.
So that's going to be our Tuesday, Wednesday show.
For most of the fall, it seems like in this trailer, I.
am cautiously optimistic about this season.
I feel like it's been, it's been a long time since we really sat down and talked about
Roney the season.
They premiered in July last year.
So they were kind of by this point, you know, two-thirds of the way through their season.
I think they wrapped up maybe in October last year.
So we were in the thick of it last year at this time.
This reboot franchise, I feel like we're in an interesting place with it.
because season one or season 14,
you know,
technically season 15 of Roney is coming out in October.
I feel like everybody had their kind of waves of feelings and reactions
about this reboot franchise that it was like,
we were really skeptical at first,
and then we were really excited about it
because it was something new and different.
And then kind of,
it was a little bit of like an up and down,
but I think the peaks weren't that high
and the valleys weren't that low.
Like it was a little bit of like a low stakes roller coaster like the kid roller coaster where it's like, okay, we're all going to like put our hands up and scream when we're going down the hill, but like kind of more to get to like get ourselves into it to like pretend that we're having a lot of fun. Nobody's actually scared going down that hill. Like, you know, when when Aaron and Uber are like yelling at each other about some dumb shit, it's like, okay, like nobody was scared. Clap if you were scared. Like nobody was scared. And I think.
think that this season, the question is, are they going to be able to sort of raise the stakes a little
bit and give us, give us some real things to grip onto and get mad about or get scared about
or get excited about or really, just like really give a shit about what's happening on this franchise?
And the trailer, I think, is pretty promising. I think obviously your mileage is going to vary on
some of the personal stuff, you know, whether Aaron and Abe are going to have some disagreement
that might seem like it's sort of cooked up for a storyline.
I don't know the details, so don't, you know,
don't get mad at me.
Like the stuff with Jenna,
and does Jenna actually have a crush on this new cast member, Raquel?
And then there's like Bryn and Uba stuff.
I think the Bryn and Uba of it all is the most kind of tantalizing thing from the trailer.
We get a couple different moments.
You know, Brin is saying, you're not Naomi, you're not Giselle.
And Uba's like, Naomi Wish, Jezelle Wish,
And then Brin being like, she's delusional, she models for dress barn.
It's just, I mean, it's a really, it's a really solid read.
And the thing is, like, we don't know where this is originating from.
And that's always the thing with the trailer is that you see these little clips and tidbits of people yelling at each other.
Sometimes you don't even know who they're yelling at.
Obviously, in this case, we know it's Uba and Bryn.
But like, what I'm really waiting for and interesting.
in to find out from this season is like, where are these conflicts that we're seeing teased?
Where are they stemming from? What are they about? How deep do they run? Because I don't always need my
housewives to be, you know, going for the jugular below the belt, you know, life or death situations.
But at a certain point, when it's been more than one season and you're having this group come back,
like there need to be some actual stakes. And I think that actually Dubai is an interesting comparison
because they're also in their second season with mostly the same cast.
And you're starting to feel like, okay, we've established some sort of ground rules here.
We know who has relationships with who.
And now when you have friendship issues on that show, it's starting to hit a little deeper.
It's starting to feel like there's a history there.
And like we have some of that history to pull from.
And so I think that for New York this season, a big part of it is going to be whether they can sort of
establish those roots, make things feel a little deeper, make the stakes feel a little deeper, make the stakes feel
a little bit higher. And I did see yesterday, after the trailer came out with that dress barn thing,
Uba posted on her Instagram story, she responded to somebody's comment about that, you know,
you model for dress barn. And she said, just to clarify, my at dress barn day rate could easily
cover six months of her cheap, no view apartment rental. XOXO Uba. This is what I want to see.
Like, this is the level where it's like, yeah, shade her apartment.
Shade the fact that she rents this apartment that doesn't have a view that is cheap and shitty and you could pay for that six months over with your one day of work for dress barn. Own it. Be like, yeah, I modeled for dress barn and I bought a car because of it. I think this is kind of the energy we need. And I think last season, I enjoyed Uba on the show. But it felt like Uba was somebody who didn't necessarily have a lot going on per se. And she wasn't necessarily like driving the season forward.
It really felt like Bryn and Aaron and Jessel and Jenna maybe were kind of like the four that
were really putting in the work more.
I think Sai kind of had trouble last season.
I think if anybody was going to not be back, aside from like Jenna just being over it,
I think Cy sort of seemed like the weak link.
I got to say in this trailer, it's not a lot of sigh again.
I'm wondering kind of whether after this season we might see a little bit of a cat.
shakeup because I think after season 14, whether or not you feel like it was a really good season
of Housewives, because I hear a lot of different opinions. I think people are sort of, I think people
maybe don't give it a fair assessment from like basically a first season perspective. But either
way, I think, and I've always said this, I think that Bravo really viewed that season as a success.
I think that they, going back to the prior season of Roney, they knew that they were in kind of an unsustainable position with that, you sort of, you know, OG-ish cast.
And so they tried something really bold. They found this new group of women. They put a lot of effort into, you know, marketing the show and making it have a certain look and feel and kind of high budget aesthetic.
You know, they were putting a lot of resources into it. And I think overall, they were happy with how the season went in terms of.
of the cast kind of putting their best foot forward.
It felt like a new, fresh, exciting thing for the network.
And whether or not you thought it was a great season, you know, that matters.
The net, how the network perceives something is a big part of it.
And so I think it was kind of a no-brainer to just sort of stay the course, let everybody
come back.
And, you know, they've added a couple new pieces this season.
We have a new housewife, Raquel.
And we also have Rebecca Minkoff joining as a friend of.
which is just so interesting.
When her casting was first reported,
I went into her background a little bit on an episode,
probably a few months ago at this point,
talking about the Scientology of it all
and some of the controversy or mystery surrounding
that part of her life and her family.
I was intrigued to hear that the S word,
Scientology, did appear in the trailer
in sort of a weird, like, you know,
sideways fashion where Brin is asking her on a helicopter. If somebody asks us about the
Scientology shit, what should we say? And Rebecca Minkoff's response is just no comment and the face
that Jessel makes at that moment. I'm like, is that even like, what is this reaction? She's like
horrified. And I'm just like, I don't, I mean, no comment seems like a pretty standard thing to say,
especially for a Scientologist who doesn't want people to talk about her being Scientologist.
they famously prefer to keep things kind of, you know, under the radar.
But yeah, I'm curious how that all is going to go.
But I think sort of what my, the point I was trying to make is that I think after this season,
I feel like this could be the time where it's like, okay, we've had two seasons of this.
Everybody got the benefit of the doubt, was brought back for a second season.
Now as we kind of are leaving this like initial rebuilding phase and get this to,
the point where maybe it's going to be a longer running franchise and we're going to really
kind of, you know, build this cast into like a Rony dynasty? Who are the pieces that are really
pulling their weight? Who are the pieces that are maybe falling to the back a little bit? So I could
see somebody like Cy if she has another kind of, you know, underwhelming season, I feel comfortable
saying that her first season was a little underwhelming. Is this going to be the time when they're
kind of like, okay, like, thank you so much for two great seasons of Roney. We're now going to
like invest a little bit, find a few new pieces and like really retool. And I think that could go
any number of ways. I think the likelihood that Jenna Lyons wants to stay on Housewives for like
10 seasons feels pretty low. So I think, you know, this could be the last time we see Jenna. There's
just no way to know. But I think the trailer did its job. It got me excited. It seems like a lot of people are
more excited than they were prior prior to this trailer coming out.
The one thing I'm a little bit like there's this, um, this theme of pigeons throughout the
trailer where it's like, okay, at first there's like a pigeon, like seeing Jessel get like
freaked out by a pigeon.
Like that sparks joy for me.
Just so being like, like, who among us?
If you've spent time in New York City, who among us has not like not noticed a pigeon in our
path of walking?
I was going to say on our flight path, but like the pigeons are the ones with the flight path.
But like, you've been startled by a pigeon.
And seeing somebody get startled by a pigeon, whether it's in real life or on TV, it just scratches an edge.
But then later in the trailer, they come back and it's like, they're like calling people pigeons.
And it's like, oh, she's like the little stoop pigeon.
I don't love when they try too hard to like make it a thing.
When it's like, oh, yeah, the pigeon.
And last season, they already had this like squawk, squawk bird thing on Roney where like sigh was in a bird caught.
Like I don't even remember because it didn't feel important, but it was a thing in the trailer.
And it was like, what are we doing here?
Just, just be a group of women being semi relatable and fighting with each other and having fun and laughing and getting drunk and having a good time.
Like, that's, that's enough.
It should be enough.
And so the pigeon thing, I'm like, I kind of hope that's just in the trailer.
because I don't really think this pigeon thing is going to land.
Though it did call to mind, I think, the iconic Durinda quote from Real House
or his ultimate girls trip, eagles don't fly with pigeons.
And this group, they should be aspiring to be eagles, not pigeons.
We need a cast full of eagles.
But October 1st, Roney will be back, and now we got to get a Salt Lake trailer.
Come on.
I wasn't sure which we were going to get first.
It feels like those are the two that are kind of rearing to go for the fall.
I'm hoping that we'll get a Salt Lake trailer in the next week or two.
That would be very exciting because that I think, you know, Salt Lake is like at this point.
That's what I'm really looking forward to.
So good, so good, so good.

Let's talk about Dubai, shall we?
The ladies are in Bali.
Frankly, I got behind last week, and so I was catching up before this latest episode.
And I was like, okay, like, you know, I'll see what I missed.
I'll see if there's anything that's, like, worth going back to.
It's just, like, weird vibes.
I think the way that this trip was teased for us, I expected it to feel more explosive and kind of like more.
I expected it to feel like, oh, once we go on this trip to Bali, there's no coming back.
Like, I thought that Ayan and Lisa were going to leave Bali not on speaking terms and like never look back.
I thought that there was going to be some big drama with, you know, I was sure.
that the Brooks and Tallinn thing was going to just like continue down a bad road and that we would
never, you know, and leaving Bali after these few weeks, I'm kind of like, okay, it kind of seems like
we're fine. And I know that obviously, like given the press cycles and the the Bravo con panel
and everything that came after, like, I know that we're not fine. I mean, I feel like I'm talking about
stakes a lot on this episode. I thought that the stakes in Bali were going to feel a bit.
higher. So basically, what we missed last week, it's like that, continuing that first dinner where
the voice memo gets brought up, Ayan leaves the table after Lisa calls her out for sharing.
Talking about this voice memo, I feel like is making me dumber. Like having to constantly be like
Ion, because it's like, okay, so it's Ayan's voice note that she shared with Caroline and the other
girlies, but actually it was Lisa's voice note, but the actual person talking in the voice note is Sarah,
and she's talking about, well, it sounds like she's talking about Brooks, but she's actually talking
about Talia. It's like, the voice memo at the end of the day is kind of, it's like, it's a
McGuffin. Like the, in like Indiana Jones when they're looking for the, the like secret, whatever,
whatever, like that's not actually the point. The point, the thing that we're mad about is that
Ayyan played the voice memo that Lisa sent to her, you know, in Shannon Bador Parlance,
the voice memo should have been in the vault. And so, you know, now Ayon is in trouble
for playing the voice memo for other women in the group. But really, Ayon is mad at Caroline
Stanbury for telling them that she played the voice memo in front of the group. And Caroline
Stanbury is like, why are you mad at me? And Iyan's like, well, actually, I'm mad at Lisa
because now Lisa's questioning if she can trust me. And I've never in my life had somebody say
that they can't trust me.
So I'm really mad at Lisa for being mad at me,
but also I'm mad at Caroline for playing the thing,
and then I'm mad at, you know,
it's like the voice memo has created such a whirlwind
of people being annoyed with each other.
Because, you know, deep down, Sarah is still a little annoyed at Lisa
that she sent the thing to Ayan.
Where, you know, Ayan is like, I didn't do anything.
She's like, when people, when girls are hanging out together,
you just play the voice memo,
which first of all, I'm a little bit like, okay, but like you're on a TV show and this is being filmed and then, you know, you're like talking shit about another person in the group.
Like, it's not just a voice memo about like, oh, my, I have a pimple that's so annoying.
Like when you send a voice memo to your friends, I feel like voice memo culture, voice note culture.
Is it a memo? Is it a note?
I guess voice notes is like what you send in the app, in like texting.
And a voice memo is like there's the voice memos app.
I don't know.
I am personally not a voice note sender.
And this is something that I feel like has become a little bit of a cultural phenomenon that has passed me by a little bit, where instead of sending a text message that you type out with your fingers, or instead of calling your friend on the phone, you just speak into your phone like it's a recorder and then press send.
And then, look, I get that that's nice because it's like you can be wandering around your house, you can be folding laundry, laundry,
You can be on a walk and you don't have to have your head down in your phone and you're just like yap, yap, yap in into the phone.
And then you just hit send and it's gone.
But what I don't love about that is then it's my job to stop what I'm doing and listen to like two minutes and 45 seconds conservatively.
These things can get lengthy of you yap, yap, yaping into the phone.
And sometimes there's not even a point.
I'm like, can I get like a transcript?
Can I get a preview?
Like I feel like there should be a little bit of like a hint of it's like, I think AI, if we can use AI for one thing, this is my million dollar idea.
So if you're listening, this is mine.
AI should be able to tell me if I receive a five minute voice note from my friend, AI should be able to tell me, hey, actually you can skip to minute three.
And that's when they start.
That's when they get to the point.
don't wouldn't you love that then i don't have to hear about what you ate for breakfast i can just
get to the like isn't tallina bitch part like that's what we need but anyway i digress the voice note
conversation on dubai it's just like a little bit of uh nothing burger where it's like the
the voice note just is not that important but the lisa and ayan thing is strange because
ian leaves the table and this is on last week's episode so this is less of a
recap and more of like a state of the union on Dubai, I guess.
Ayan leaves the table. Lisa goes to find her.
Then 20 minutes later, we hear Ayan like, you know, whimpering in the background off camera.
And then Lisa's calling her a husband through tears and being like, I'm so mad at her.
I'm so mad at her. I'm so mad at her. I can't believe.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And I'm like, okay, I really, really, really wish that production would have figured out how to get a mic into that room where Lisa and Ayan were seeming.
having this like knock down, drag out argument.
Because is that really about the voice note?
They were gone for 20 minutes.
They're both sobbing afterwards.
Like, is this really all because Ayan played Caroline Stanbury, a voice note of her,
of Sarah saying that she's not the biggest fan of Tallene?
Of Tallene?
Who gives a fuck?
I mean, I get, I get that there is like an annoyance level there.
I get that there is like a trust thing there of like if I if you played this then what you know now I'm not going to trust when I'm actually when I'm sending you a voice note that's about something serious God forbid that you're going to play it for Caroline Stanbury and whoever the fuck else was at that lunch but like really I think this is something with Dubai that I've struggled with a little bit over the course of this season is that like they are so they set the level.
so high of the of like how they react to things and how they speak about things and with talina
and brooks it's like this big big drama this swirling thing this horrible thing she's she's wearing
my clothes and she's lying about this and blah blah blah blah blah and it's the the kind of thing
of like pointing to somebody and they're like isn't she the the worst nastiest person you've
ever seen on the planet and can't you just not believe that she would do something like this
to me and i'm looking at it and i'm kind of like yeah i mean she could have been like
like she could have been nicer, I guess.
I just am struggling to get as worked up about things as I think the people on this show
want me to be.
So the voice note thing, it's a little bit neither here nor there.
And then by the end of this trip, it feels like Ayan and Lisa are like kind of fine.
And granted Lisa's like, oh, well, like, you know, I forgive, but I'll never forget.
You know, it'll always be there in the back of my mind.
So now I'm like, okay, in these last few episodes of the season,
presumably, I don't know how many we have left, like,
there better be something else.
Because if there's not something else, then it's like,
the way these two seem to hate each other right now,
I'm like, we need some background on this.
We need something else.
This isn't enough to make me care.

And even the next day
in Bali, when
Stanbury and Ayan break off
from the rest of the group, you know, the rest of the group
is going ATVing.
This is after this like
dress debacle. Again,
it's just another thing where it's like,
so Brooks, Tallinn and
Stanbury. Lisa has procured these like Balinese dresses for everybody to wear to dinner. It's very
Salt Lake in in Palm Springs last season when they had to wear when they got to like pick out
each other's outfits for dinner and Lisa Barlow was having a meltdown. I'm saying, I usually
wear Versace to dinner and now I have to wear this ugly belly dancing skirt. I just again,
it's something I can't get worked up about that it's like, okay, you're going to have to wear like
a dress you don't like to dinner one night that everybody else is also wearing.
a dress they didn't pick out to dinner.
And also it's like you're in this place that has a different culture than yours.
And like whether it's like a cultural appreciation thing or like a cultural appropriation thing,
like I don't know exactly where I fall on like let's wear Bali dresses to dinner.
Like whatever.
That's what they were doing.
It's like just live a little.
Have a little fun.
Let loose one time.
I think this is the issue with Caroline Brooks especially.
is she will just like choose these moments to get so like worked up about something that just doesn't fucking matter.
She's like, I don't wear mustard yellow.
She got a pet she got a pet me in her dress.
I'm not a hot dog.
I don't wear mustard.
And it's like, please.
Be for real.
It's a color.
It's a color of fabric.
It's a dress you didn't love.
Like this is just not that big of a deal.
But then the three of them literally don't go to dinner because they don't want to wear these dresses.
So all of a sudden, Brooks, Tallinn, and Stanbury, the three that were at each other's throats the most for most of this season, all of a sudden are bonding over the fact that it's like, can you believe I want to be to wear that dressed to dinner?
I'm a gold.
I can never.
It's like, oh, my.
Like, I think that kind of, it reveals a little bit how low some of the stakes are overall.
that it's like these three that have been dragging each other through the mud for most of the season,
especially Brooks and Tallinn,
all that has to happen for them to be fine is for them to like bond over not liking a dress that Lisa Milan picked out for them.
Like if that, if something that simple can allow you to overcome how much you hate somebody,
you probably didn't hate them that much in the first place.
Like you told yourself that they were your enemy when really it's just like you guys disagreed about something
and you're on a TV show and you felt like.
like you needed a moment. Like, I feel like a lot of it just kind of, kind of comes down to that.
But yeah, so the next day, you know, Ayan and Stanbury are like so angry at each other when they
come back from the dress dinner. And it's like, oh, like, you're a horrible person. You're this,
you're that. The next day, they go out to the Bali swings. They're having lunch. Yeah, they get
heated again. But then it's fine. Then they're just pushing each other on the swing.
And so it's like every conflict that's happening on this trip and on this season can sort of just be
like reeled back in because there's like one fun activity happening or one one thing that allows
them to like rebond. And look, I like when housewives can swing from friends to enemies to whatever.
Like I think that's a good thing on a show like this where you need an ensemble that's going to
kind of like regenerate season after season. But I think the swings have to feel a little bigger.
And they have to feel like they have a little more weight to them.
And when things can swing back and forth within the space of one episode from, like,
screaming at each other to, like, making jokes about, you know, seeing your husband when you got home.
It's like, I just, you know, there's not that much to grasp on to.
Actually, the most interesting thing in the episode, which I never would have guessed,
is when Sarah pulls Saba aside and they're talking about her relationship with Akeen,
with this hot German guy that we saw earlier in the season.
And Sara is somebody who, like, drives me crazy.
And so I do not expect to really be that invested in her personal drama.
But watching this episode, knowing some things that have gone down, IRL since this part of
filming of the show, all of a sudden, my spidey senses were tingling, my ears were perked up.
And this is where I really, like, I felt like I locked into the episode.
Because, so remember, we saw Akeon earlier in the season, but he lives in Germany.
So he has gone back home.
He is not in her day-to-day life in person.
And he now has an issue with her going on a podcast that is hosted by a guy who apparently sometimes takes shirtless photos.
Sir.
Akeen.
Over there in Germany.
Shut the fuck up.
This podcast, she says, wait, first of all, I need to know more about this podcast because she says that she's going to be paid
$45,000 to go on this podcast.
And I would just like to know, if you are out there hosting a podcast that is paying guests, $45,000, I am available.
I will talk about absolutely anything.
I will go on the Joe Rogan experience and say whatever, I will say whatever I have to about vaccines for $45,000.
That's not true.
I do have morals.
I do have standards.
like, what are you talking about?
$45,000 to go on a podcast.
I don't, I need to know more about that situation.
But, you know, the long and short of it is that Akeen wants her to turn down this gig
because this guy is not good.
Because he, he posts things on social media and he has this weird presence.
And Sarah, rightfully so, is like, this man, I'm not married to him.
He's not paying for my lifestyle.
He's not, you know, I've known him two months.
He's off in Germany.
we have no commitment.
I'm not making these like business life choices because of what he does and doesn't want me to do.
And Sabah is very, you know, she's right on the same page with this.
I think, you know, the writing is on the wall.
This guy is probably no good.
And Sarah went on the page six virtual reality podcast in the last week or so.
And she talked a lot more about the situation with Akeen.
This show hosted by our friends Danny and Evan over at page six.
Sarah spilled a lot of tea about her situation with Akeen.
She said that so they're no longer together in August 2024 time.
She says, so in addition to what we heard about on the show,
he also didn't want her working out at a co-ed gym,
even though he is a trainer who works with women.
He's like putting his hands all over a woman,
like stretching her body out by hand.
And she's like not supposed to be in a gym where a man could be.
not great
not great
also she says after going back to Germany
so we saw him earlier in the season he was there
for a couple episodes he probably was in town
I don't know a few days maybe a week
so she says that after
he went back to Germany that time
during filming he was
he kept asking her when
he was going to come back for more
filming he was like when are we doing that again
that was fun
when am I coming back
when's the next round and she
had to basically be like, oh, like, we're done filming together.
Like, aside from what's happening in our relationship, like, you're not coming back for
another round of being on the show this season.
Like, that's not my whole storyline for the season.
We're not going to see you every episode.
You're not going to have this whole character arc.
Like, the idea that somebody who doesn't even live in the same country, made the same
part of the world as you, is like, okay, I'm ready to, I'm ready to, I'm ready to
come back for another spate of episodes.
It's like if that's how somebody is measuring your relationship, run for the hills.
We have had so many women on housewives who start dating guys who like claim not to be that
interested in the show or claim they have never seen the show or not to care about it.
It's usually bullshit.
Like, you know, John Jansen, if he didn't want to be in the world of housewives, he wouldn't
be dating a second housewife in, you know, a span of six months.
if Louis
if Louis wasn't interested in Real Housewives of New Jersey
let me tell you we would be in a much different place right now
but this guy Akeen it's like literally for what
she says that he was like desperate to get married to her
after they had known each other for just a couple months
and she basically had to tell him like babe I don't know you
we're not close like that we're not about to get married
and then of course icing on the cake he accused her of cheating
which just you know classic you just love to
see it. That of course the guy in Germany is
accusing his woman several
countries away of cheating.
She felt like maybe he was projecting his own
action, so she hired a private
investigator to keep a little
track of him. And while she's
not divulging details, she says that
the private investigator did find
quote, incriminating information about
Akeen. So needless to say,
they are no longer together.
I'm curious if we will see Sarah on
a third season and get
more details on that. But the thing
with Sarah that has also developed.
Speaking of Sarah and Saba,
who had such a nice supportive conversation
on this week's episode,
things have soured between the two of them.
And yesterday, as I'm recording this,
so Tuesday,
Sabah posted a statement on her social media.
And this is somebody, like, respectfully,
Sabah, I guess, is doing fine
on this season of Housewives as a friend of.
Like, she got to go on the Bali trip.
That's fun.
Saba is not somebody that I'm paying a lot of attention.
attention to. And so when this came across my desk yesterday, I was like, what in the fuck is this?
So this is, it looks like a press release. If you, if you're somebody who sees press releases,
it's very recognizable. It's like a news, a news release that this is the headline. Sabah Yusuf
announces amicable parting from Sarah Almadani. Now, I'm reading this. I'm like, amicable parting.
like they're not these women aren't married to each other they're not uh i don't like literally
what does that mean why are you putting a why are you posting on instagram a press release
announcing that you're breaking up with your friend from a show that you're barely on so it says
uae comma london august 13th 2024 i don't know why we're saying uae and london like first of all
uae is a country london's a city like if anything it should be like Dubai london or like
like UAE United Kingdom, but also like, why do you need two locations on this fake press release?
August 13, 2024.
Sabah Yusuf announced today announced an amicable decision to part ways both personally and
professionally with Sarah Almadani.
This decision follows careful consideration and reflection on recent developments.
Quote, after thorough deliberation, I have chosen to move forward without Sarah in both my
personal and professional endeavors, said Sabah Yusuf.
Our paths and values no longer align.
in the best interest of both parties to take separate journeys.
There is an appreciation for our journey, and now is the time to take different paths.
Sabah Yusuf will continue to embrace the importance of authenticity, integrity, and transparency
in all aspects of life and business.
Quote, I wish Sarah all the best in her future endeavors and hope she finds success and
fulfillment.
Moving forward, Sabah Yusuf remains committed to her roles as CEO and advisory board member,
focusing on her family, charity work, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism
and authenticity.
Girl, what?
CEO of what?
To quote page de Sorbo.
CEO of what?
Like, I truly, if my
life depended on it, I could not come up with one thing to
describe what Saba Yusuf is the CEO of.
I don't know what she does for work.
I don't know what she and Sarah have been doing together.
This is baffling to me.
And with that being said,
I need to know so much more.
Maybe Sabah has just secured herself a season three contract on Real Housewives of Dubai because literally what is this?
This fake press release posted on her Instagram, acting like she's some, like she's Elon Musk.
Who are you?
And then Sara responded on Twitter.
A statement about a friendship breakup.
What are we in high school?
I didn't launch the business publicly with you.
yet, but sure, it's a CEO thing, I guess.
Wishing you all the best in everything you do, beautiful.
I don't know why this was necessary.
We weren't married, but sure.
It's cute.
Should have wrote a song.
Would have been more romantic.
Anyways, back to what's important.
How is everyone?
Heart, hard, heart.
Hashtag, R.H.O. Dubai.
This is my favorite thing Sarah's ever done.
This is shady as hell.
This is funny.
And she does answer my question a little bit because I was like,
was I supposed to know that Sarah and Saba were
like in business together.
Like are they, do they own a company?
Is it like some cryptocurrency thing?
Are they, you know, is you the next SpaceX?
Like I really don't know.
And she's saying, we didn't even announce it publicly.
To us, we didn't even know they were in business together.
But sure, it's a CEO thing, I guess.
Wishing you all the best, you do beautiful.
Like, it's just, it's like so dismissive.
But at the same time, like, you can tell that Sarah is also looking at this like,
what, girl, what are you talking about?
Why is this a press release?
Why is this a thing at all?
But also like, what happened?
What happened between them?
Because the only reason Sabah's on this season is because she's like, Sarah's friend.
She's not the kind of friend of who has like shown up and then knows a few people and then really just becomes a part of the group.
Like, if I was to describe Sabah's role in the group, I'm like, oh, yeah, she's like Sarah's plus one.
And so to go from, you know, being someone's plus one is a little bit of a precarious situation.
because the second that person starts being less relevant.
I mean, look at Shamiya all those seasons on Real Hostiles of Atlanta.
Like the second Portia wasn't the main character.
Shamiya wasn't necessary.
Now, Shamiya's going to be back, so we'll see.
But like, Saba is not somebody that I have thought about much at all.
I don't even know if I've said her name before this episode.
So all of a sudden, I need to know more.
So in that sense, congratulations, Saba.
You have created relevancy out of thin.
there and I hope that this is dealt with on the reunion. Like, I don't even know if Saba was
invited to the reunion. But now I hope she was. But anyway, that's what we've got going on
for today. We will be back tomorrow with a RHOC recap, whatever else is happening. And of course,
next week with more great stuff. But in the meantime, thank you so much for listening. Don't forget
