Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the Mentioned at All podcast, and we're back for another Friday episode
where we have a triple Housewives recap, because what time is it? It's Potomac time.
Our cherry blossoms are back for their 11th season, so we, of course, are going to get into
the Real Housewives of Potomac season premiere, and we have New York and Salt Lake City to talk about.
It's just, it's a good time to have good things.
happening. And it feels nice to have so many crazy women in our lives just feeding us week to
week. And yeah, it's going to be a fun episode. If you have not seen earlier on the show this
week, we had the lovely Carol Radzawil in the studio. She's back on Rony this season, of course,
and so it was fun to chat with her about everything that's been going on this season. And,
you know, reminisce a little bit on her housewives journey as unconventional as it's been.
So go check that out if you haven't yet.
And next Tuesday, we have a Salt Lake City OG Heather Gay back in the studio.
So make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss that and more great guests coming soon, I promise.
We have a lot to get into today.
It's going to be mostly Housewives.
Before Housewives, I just want to mention traders a little bit because I complained about traders last week.
And I like to complain when it's warranted.
and I also like to give appreciation when it's warranted.
And congratulations to the Traders' editors for this week,
managing to fit a full episode of Traders into an episode of Traders.
We got a murder.
We got a banishment.
We got a round table.
We got a mission.
It was an action-packed 42 minutes, and I would say keep it up.
We don't need to see 30 minutes of whether or not Joe is going to be able to throw an apple at somebody.
Also, just like, the faithfuls this season are dumb.
They're not doing a good job.
But what's so weird, and I'm not going to spoil, I'm not going to spoil this week's
episode because I don't really need to get into it that much.
But what I will say is that I feel like, and I've seen a couple people point this out
online, that there are definitely faithfuls who are figuring out who the traders are.
All three traders at this point have had their name talked about, hypothesized, what have you.
But then when it comes time for the round table, we get completely diverted and focus on some, you know, dumb red herring of a thing that you think is a clue and you can't stop talking about.
Why'd she say there are only three traders?
Why'd she say there are only three?
How would she know that if she weren't a traitor?
it's like if you think you see something suspicious and you think that person's just vote for them.
What's the worst that's going to happen?
They're going to be a faithful?
Well, you already banished six of those.
This week's episode was a step up in the season of Traders.
I'm really excited for the celebrity season that's going to be coming next year.
But yeah, traders know they're doing a good job.
I would just say, let's keep this rhythm going because we can't be doing these.
these full episodes with only half of a cycle.
But let's talk about Potomac.
Our girls are back.
And when I say our girls are back, they're all back.
Karen Hugar is back.
Robin Dixon is back.
However you feel about that, she's back.
She's an OG.
Put some respect on her name is what I would say to some of you.
Of course, Jazele and Ashley are back.
Wendy, Stacey, Tia.
We have a new lady in the group, Courtney,
who's a basketball coach wife slash profiteess slash real estate agent.
I don't know about Courtney.
We'll find out.
We'll find out together.
Her husband is seven foot two.
That is insane.
They, in the first episode, they go to a Wizards game where Courtney has gotten them a suite.
And we see her with her.
husband before the game. She gets a little, you know, slap on the wrist for stepping on the hardwood
in her heels. But she's wearing like, she says she's wearing seven inch heels. And she, as she says
goodbye to her husband before the game, I'm sorry. The way that she has to crane her head. And he is
fully, it's like when you see like the March of the Penguins poster where it's like the one
Emperor penguin is like fully like looking down like a hunt like straight to the ground and the
the other penguin is like,
imagine having to do that every time he wanted to kiss your husband.
I mean, good for her.
Everybody should get what they want.
That is a tall man.
Seven foot two is just a lot of, a lot of height.
Lot to wrap my mind around.
But anyway, we will I'm sure learn more about Courtney in the coming weeks.
And she is not really the main.
event here. So let's back it up a little bit. And welcome back to the stage, Karen Hugar. You know,
she's been traveling. She's been to prison. She is not drinking, though she doesn't, she's not a big
drinker, as she's continuing to tell us. Her problem is more with medication. And, you know,
I don't look, I don't have that much interest in nitpicking someone's, you know, substance abuse
issues or lack of issues depending on who you ask. I would just say like, if you're not a big drinker,
the video that we saw just feels, I don't know, I don't know, Thomas Jefferson's concubine.
It's like when Teresa went over to Jennifer Aden's house that one time, she's like, oh, like,
do you want some wine? I mean, I'm not a big drinker, and Teresa's just like, yeah, a big drinker?
you're Jennifer you Jennifer Hayden are not a big drinker anyway I hope Karen as well she looks great
um the confessional look where she's got the kind of like you know bedazzled veil and it matches
with the look and it's just like mother Karen mother Karen she's back I I'm really glad that
she's back I mean obviously she you know she made some big mistakes and she
did her time and whatever. But I do feel like the, the rhythm of Real Housewives of Potomac
benefits from having her in the mix. And last season I thought was pretty solid. But, you know,
there was the whole like kind of side show that was Kearna and her man and her condo and her
things. And, you know, we had to watch Angel kind of meander about Colorado and,
and other places.
And having Karen back and having Robin back, you know, despite having her detractors,
it really feels like we are getting sort of a top-tier Potomac experience.
And there are not that many shows that I think in season 11 could assemble this type of cast
where it really makes sense for everybody to be there.
And I think, you know, Courtney aside, because she's so brand new, I don't really have an
opinion yet. Stacy, obviously, in the last few seasons, has really become a major piece of this
cast and a major fan favorite. You know, Wendy is practically an OG at this point. And Tia,
I think, had a really strong season. And all signs are pointing to that she is going to be
pretty in the mix this year because there's some stuff happening with Tia's marriage. And
look, okay. So,
So Wendy and Stacey are hanging out.
They're meeting outside somewhere.
Everybody's just like meeting at a picnic table.
It's like when you,
when production didn't care to book you a restaurant,
and it's just like,
yeah,
I guess we could meet,
you know,
on a bench.
I always love that.
I'm like,
how do they decide,
like,
when,
what is it?
It's like,
when like,
Derinda and Carol would meet up in Central Park.
It's like,
do they just like rock up and pick a bench and be like,
yeah,
I guess this will do.
I would love to know,
like,
how that stuff is,
I did. But anyway, Wendy pulls up in her new G-Wagon, which is called Psalm 91.
I think naming your car is a little... I don't want to get people mad at me because I know some
people name their cars. It's a little, you know, it's a little cheesy. When people are like,
that's my, that's my, you know, what's the car, the like VW bug or whatever? And it's like, her name
is Penny. I'm like, okay. Like, come on. Yeah. Like, it's just, it's, it's, it's not my,
not my vibe. But when you're like a normal person doing it and it's just like, oh, like, I think
it's cute for my car to have a name, fine. I'll let people live. When you are a woman who has been,
I was going to say accused of, but also, like, charged with, um, committing insurance fraud and,
you know, just generally, um, kind of being a swindler.
The idea of pulling up to the season premiere of your show, looking very refreshed and well-rested and glistening and glowing, you know, there's a scene with her and Eddie wearing like head-toe aloe, aloe sets.
And it's just like, okay, sure. In this shiny new G-Wagon that you have named Psalm 91, it's an interesting choice.
that's what I'll say. And there is a vibe of Wendy in this episode talking about what she and
Eddie are going through where it's a little bit of a victim kind of vibe where, you know,
she's talking about how difficult it's been for them. And, you know, she's seen her,
her career be impacted and people judging her and whatever. And look, I am 100%
on the side of, you know, innocent until proven guilty in the eyes of the lore.
But I also don't think that it's totally unfair for people to make judgments based on a lot of
evidence that's been put out there and a lot of information that has been made public record.
And I think that the idea that it's, you know, so ridiculous that people would think
that she could be guilty of this.
To me, it just implies a lack of real, like, understanding and acknowledgment of, like,
how bad it looks for you.
That, you know, and this is kind of what we went with, went through with Jen Shaw back
in the day, where it's like, it's one thing for you to say, I didn't do it.
I plan to prove in the court of law that I didn't do it.
And this is a big misunderstanding and whatever.
But to, you know, I think there's a level of like, look, I see how bad this looks.
I see that.
I understand why people would look at the information that's been put out there and make and form these opinions against me.
And, you know, we're only human and people, people are reading what they're reading.
can't control that. What I can control is what my legal team and my husband's separate legal team
are working on for our separate court cases, which is another thing. Wendy and Eddie have now
procured separate legal teams, which the second I heard this, my kind of like spidey sense is
tingling that it's like, okay, there's a strategy at play here, which I mean, I guess like any good
lawyer should have some kind of strategy. That's sort of, those billable hours have to be for something.
But it feels like, you know, a little bit of a chess game where it's like, okay, if somebody on one
side is getting some sort of plea deal, then can we make some sort of other plea deal?
So then what's going to happen? And I mean, like, my spidey sense immediately is like, oh,
Eddie's going to take the fall and he's going to go to jail and Wendy's going to stay with the kids.
Now, do I know that's what's going to happen? Of course not.
Maybe they're innocent.
Maybe nobody goes to jail.
Maybe they both go to jail.
Maybe there's no jail and it's just like a big fine or restitution or whatever.
I don't know.
It's just, I think it's notable.
And on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday night, one of the guests was somebody who does a lawyer, some lawyer, I don't know.
And she was kind of implying the same thing.
But it just means that when you have the same representation, fundamentally, you're on the same team.
you're in this together, you would have the common goal of being found, you know, proven
innocent or whatever.
Where the second you are going in separate directions, you, your lawyer is representing you.
And, you know, if I'm, you know, if I'm the lawyer for M&Ms, I don't give a fuck what's
going on with Skittles.
Skittles could get the death penalty for all I care.
I'm, my job is M&Ms.
So I'm a little bit nervous for that.
But anyway, back to Psalm 91. Stacey and Wendy catching up. They're good girlfriends. Timo has moved back in with Stacey and Arabella. And they're just a happy family again. And I love how multiple times in this episode or maybe once in the preview for next episode, she's like, you know, Timo, who's my husband slash ex-husband slash boyfriend slash whatever you want to call it. I'm like, I appreciate that Stacey isn't trying to.
to paint over the kind of messiness of whatever this situation has been for the last few years.
But no, she seems very happy.
They went to Jamaica, I think.
He had his hand all over her ass.
You know, good for them.
But Wendy's objective from this picnic, not a picnic,
they're just sitting at a picnic table.
There's no picnic.
Is actually that Tia is going to show up.
and Stacey and Tia are going to make some progress in their relationship.
And so Stacey admits that she shouldn't have kicked Tia out of her event last season.
That was the toodle do.
And then Tia says that she shouldn't have said at the reunion that Stacey married up.
And this is when it gets really good.
Because, well, we, you know, we hear that, you know, Ashley's been saying something about Tia's husband at her
you know, Godforsaken cabaret show or whatever. And, you know, Wendy is really done with Ashley for
making disparaging comments about her legal stuff. And it feels very like what Whitney Rose said when she
was drunk at the drag brunch. There's always somebody saying something in the offseason that then we have
to deal with. But anyway, it comes up that Ashley said something about Tia's husband. And Stacey,
Stacy, Stacey, Stacy, she is, she carries the bone in her mouth. The cameras are up and she placed
the bone right on the table. And she says, well, actually, I know what Ashley was saying.
And you know what, Tia, thank you so much for apologizing for what you said about my husband.
And I apologize for what I have to say about yours. Oh my God. The tingle that went up my spine
when Stacey drops this line.
And look, was she rehearsing it in the mirror?
Probably.
I bet she was.
She is, you know, Stacy is a woman of poise and preparation.
And from her years of hosting on QVC and selling, you know, god-awful sweaters and earrings and broaches,
she knows how to deliver the line.
in a, you know, in a very, like Erica Jane, I'm a showman sense of the word.
So when she says, I apologize for what I have to say about yours, you know it's going to be good.
And, well, it's not good.
It's, it's bad.
Because she says that she has been receiving messages about Tia's marriage and that Rob has been on dating sites.
Tia's husband, Rob, has been on dating sites.
Tia, she handles this pretty well.
I'm impressed that she obviously is upset by this and is concerned, but it doesn't feel like she is reacting in any sort of like really volatile way.
She kind of just is like, okay, where did you hear this?
Thank you for telling me.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And of course, you know, we know it's from Ashley, probably.
But it comes back at the end of the episode because, you know, Tia asks Giselle why Ashley's obsessed
with her husband. And, you know, Ashley is like, all men are capable of foolery. And I've seen
it firsthand. It's like, Ashley, please. Ashley, why is Ashley reminding people about that husband
refers? Nobody wants to think about it. But it comes back up at the end because after this basketball game
that they go to. Wendy confronts Ashley over the comments that she made about Tia at her show,
and Tia calls her out for the Schadenfreude that she was exhibiting. And Ashley doesn't know what that
word means, so we get a little bit of a lesson. But Ashley says that, you know, she doesn't really
want to talk about it because it's not her tea, so she didn't want to, you know, put it out there.
And then, Jazeel, thankfully, Jazeel is the bigger person and raises her hand and says that somebody
sent her the information. And this is when things get a little weird because normally you would expect,
you know, okay, so Giselle told Ashley, she says because she's never used dating apps and Ashley has.
And so she wanted Ashley to help confirm that the dating app profile was real. And Ashley's like,
I've never used dating apps. And Giselle's like, oh, well, I don't know, I thought you had. I thought you,
are you not out in these streets?
You're just, you're, you're, you're hanging out with your, you know,
Jack Harlow looking man and you're not, you're not, you're not on the dating apps.
But, um, anyway, so normally you would expect that maybe Giselle would get some credit
for not carrying the bone right onto the season premiere.
But in fact, Tia is like, well, thankfully, Stacey told me.
Stacey told me to my face.
She's a good friend.
I'm, I'm discovering that she can be a good friend.
and Jazeel, meanwhile, is criticizing Stacey for keeping this in her back pocket until the cameras were up.
And Jazele asks, you know, if it's true about Rob having the dating app.
And Tia says, well, that's a conversation that I am going to have with my friends.
And so we are getting, you know, lines in the sand right away.
And in fact, then most of the women leave.
And, you know, Giselle says she won't talk about it on her podcast.
and everyone's yelling, you know, Robin says Karen is sundowning at the table, which
has just made me laugh.
But half the women leave and we're left with Tia keeping Stacey and Wendy there.
And I thought the way that they staged this, well, not staged, but, you know, the way it
went down was very dynamic to watch because it really felt like normally, you know, the party ends.
everybody leaves, that's the end of the episode. Okay, you're getting in your cars. You all probably
live an hour away from each other. The way that it was like, okay, everybody's going to filter out and
like, you two stay behind and we're going to talk about this. Felt to me kind of like true to life
in a way that housewives sometimes doesn't, where it's like these events are obviously, you know,
planned and, you know, coordinated. And I love that Tia was like, you know, you two hang back.
I've got to tell you that I talk to Rob and I confronted him and I asked you, are you on the dating apps?
And he said, yes. He said yes. Isn't this nice that in one episode we're getting the revelation of the rumor?
We're getting the back kind of the backstory of who's known about the rumor and who didn't tell whom and whatever.
the Giselle and Ashley and Stacey of it all.
And we're getting, Tia has already, you know, done the work talking to her husband and is confirming it.
We're one episode into the season.
I mean, I haven't even talked about some of the other stuff that happens on this episode.
And we're already, we're moving through this rumor like, you know, a knife through, hot knife through butter.
it really uh it instills confidence in me for this season that this is not something i mean of of course
the storyline isn't over yet but the fact that we are making headway this quickly i'm like oh
they're not wasting any time not at all um i do just quickly want to talk about um the uh the return
of robin because robin is at this basketball game um the basketball game is kind of funny because
so they're in a suite at the wizard's game
And I, for a minute, I was like, oh, are they not allowed to film inside the arena at all?
And they're only like sequestered in this suite.
And they did go out at a certain point to like pretend to watch the basketball game for a second.
But mostly they're just hanging out in the suite.
And, you know, this is when Karen is seeing some people for the first time in a while.
And so, you know, she sees Wendy and, you know, Karen, I love it.
So Karen and Wendy are not in a good place.
At the reunion, the vibe was not good.
You know, Karen feels like Wendy wasn't there for her and, you know, vice versa.
Karen marches right up to Wendy and gives her a hug and says she's there for support and they can talk.
And Wendy's just like, wait, what?
She feels like Karen used her darkest moment to kick her.
And I love, you know, Karen is going to keep you on your toes.
Stacey is wearing a crazy outfit.
She's wearing like the kind of dress that like the first lady would wear to a formal luncheon.
Like it's not, it's not like a floor length gown, but it's sort of tea length maybe, like a like mid-calf.
And it's like a very like stiff looking like a silk satin material with like some stripes.
And then she's just wearing just her tennies, her tennis shoes.
It looks like she's going to go walk on the track.
And I love when Chiselle is the one to comment on somebody's footwear because she famously, you know, told Karen that she was ready to walk around.
And this is very that.
We're wearing the prom dress with the sneakers.
You look nuts.
And then Karen, of course, is going to be like, Jizzy and Stacey.
They both can't dress.
Not at all.
Just one of the best running gags on Browell.
Bravo is Karen's absolute disgust at Chiselle's fashion choices.
But anyway, Robin shows up and she's back.
We get a montage of everyone on the show having issues with her at various points,
which to me was very funny.
And I love that Wendy tells Robin that she got smaller.
And Robin goes, yeah, it's GLP 1.
And Wendy goes, mine is Pilates and stress.
And Robin goes, well, probably more the stress, I would imagine.
Wendy's just like, welcome back, I guess.
You know, the podcast, the reasonably shady podcast has made a lot of problems for them on Potomac over the years.
And I do think it's interesting with them coming back, with Robin coming back specifically, like how that is going to play out.
Because, you know, I already said that Giselle had to tell Tia that they wouldn't talk about it on the podcast.
Karen feels like she's been fodder for the podcast a lot.
She says that Robin is sitting on her podcast, shaking a tin can, dropping her name,
hoping somebody drops a nickel in.
Just like we're getting really great Potomac content out the gate.
And I feel really good about this season.
It's a fun premiere.
Like there's drama, of course.
The Wendy and Eddie stuff is intense and very real.
The Tia and Rob stuff, I hope that, I hope that Tia's, you know,
doing well. It seems not ideal for this to be happening, and especially right at the beginning of
her second season. But overall, I just am like, yes, yes. Ray and Karen aren't living together right now.
He can't handle the woman that she's become. I'm like, yeah, okay. I don't know if he could handle
much of what was going on before. But no, it feels like there's a lot of, a lot.
of juice on Potomac this season. And I'm so excited to have them back. They truly are just like a top
tier franchise. And, you know, like many of our top tier franchises, they've had some ups and downs.
But the last couple seasons, they've been back in a good groove. And it just, it makes me so
happy. And I love that in the last year or so, we've had shows like Potomac, Atlanta, now New York.
which I'll get into in a second, feel like after some tough or just kind of mediocre seasons,
they've really been able to find a groove again and get good again.
It's a great thing.
It's a great problem to have.
It's a great thing to be, you know, witnessing.
Let's get into Roney because we are still on Mosquito Island.
The women are waking up on day two.
Presumably there's not going to be any meals eaten in a meal.
the pool today.
But there is a lot of other stuff going on.
So first of all, one thing I just noted, I, next week we have the Golden Life coming
out.
And I've watched the premiere.
I'll be talking about it on next week's episode.
Ramona is like the notorious for not treating the staff at vacation properties very well.
And I just have to say, I really appreciated seeing some of the,
the women on this version of Rony, actually being like nice to the people that are working at
this house on Mosquito Island. I noted Haley greeting Sabrina the house manager by name and chatting
with her. It's just like, wow, wow, that's nice. What a nice human interaction with this person
who is in fact a human, despite their job being to pour you water at the house. A little goes a long
way. But no, that was just a little aside at the beginning of the episode. But we start with some,
you know, some scraps from the night before. Erica is apologizing to Aaron for the insurance fraud
comments, which, you know, she's being reassured from all angles that it was a joke. And yes,
it was a joke. I don't think that was really, you know, I don't think Aaron was, I think she would
still be upset at the joke, but whatever. But then we got something that I really was not expecting.
which is we get an appearance in spirit,
not in, she's not on the show,
but Jenna Lyons is back in the mix
because I didn't think Jenna Lyons would last two seasons on this show.
I certainly didn't think we'd ever hear about her again.
But Sy tells us that Jenna texted her about her marriage,
saying, I hope you're doing okay, you know, with the stuff with you and David.
And Cy responds her and it's like, oh, yeah, I'm sure I'm sure you must have seen in the news and, you know, the blogs or whatever.
And Jenna goes, oh, no, I heard about it a while ago before it was in the news.
And Cy, you know, her ears perk up and she's like, oh, did you hear about it from Aaron?
And Jenna goes, hmm, not directly.
So the implication and sigh certainly her assumption here is that she told Erin her private business of what's going on with her and David.
And Aaron, you know, blabbed it to everyone who would listen across New York or, you know, quiffed it as she's, just a really elegant turn of phrase.
And so she immediately is like, Aaron, you stupid bitch, why did you tell everyone by business?
And this kind of sets the tone for the rest of the episode because I'd just say,
side to Silva is not in a great mood today in Mosquito Island.
It's a lot.
But Carol, you know, while everybody's in their like separate little groups,
Carol is eating breakfast with, you know, Haley and Daisy,
and she brings up the Epstein Files.
Now, we knew this was going to be on the season.
It was in the trailer a little bit, but we didn't really know what the framing of it would be.
Was it going to be somebody bringing it up as a gotcha?
Was it going to be some bombshell dropping and all the cast is reacting to it?
And lo and behold, Carol brings it up herself because we're hearing about, you know,
Aaron's talking about Jessel, Googling all of them and, you know, wanting to bring up shit and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And Carol goes, oh, well, if she's Googling me, she's going to see.
some stuff. She's going to see the Epstein files. I just was not, you know, that's not how I thought
it was going to come onto the show. And so I'm like, kind of like props for her for bringing it up.
But then, of course, we have to talk about it. And, you know, Daisy has a lot of questions,
as she did also about the love story stuff, but then Jessel kind of steamrolled in with the more
aggressive tone, but, you know, she's saying she had never heard of Jeffrey Epstein when she knew
Gillen and that Gillen didn't talk about him. And she, someone connected, after Carol's husband died,
someone connected Ghilin to her and gave Geelan her number without giving her a heads up.
And so Gieland then connected Carol to Prince Andrew.
She goes, I got a call from the Duke of York.
And they're like, ooh.
And it's like, no, no, no, that's the bad one.
That's the bad one.
I love these women are like, ooh, prince.
And it's like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
You don't want that.
And they're like, did you kissy, kissy, did you sleep with them?
Was it a thing?
And she's like, no, ew.
They got dinner one time.
and she says that she and Gieland drifted apart and they were never that close but,
you know, they ran in the same circle, whatever, and that she felt all along that Gieland never
would have been interested in her without her connections.
And, you know, all of that more or less makes sense.
I mean, of course, we don't know with 100% certainty whether she's like painting a true
picture of what happened. I don't have evidence to the contrary, but also you never know.
Just with this kind of thing, it's like most of us will never know exactly what happened
with who and when. But Sai is not real satisfied. And what's interesting is that not only
does Sai have questions, which again, I think is normal. Daisy Arte was asking a bunch of questions.
but Sai pretty quickly shows her hand that she has done her research here because she kind of slides into this conversation
and is referencing specific messages that have been made public in files of messages between Carol and Gieland.
I'm sorry.
I know Gieland is like a weird name.
I'm saying it how Carol says it, which I assume is like how she calls herself.
So I keep saying Golan
And it's like
It's like this serious moment
And it's kind of taking me out
And she's like
So then you and Golan
And it's like
Oh
It's like when you're talking to somebody
About housewives
And they're like
Saying someone's name wrong
And it's like
I know you know
I know you
Like Shiree Whitfield
I'm like
Shiree
It's Shiree
It's Shiree
Galon
So weird
But she's referencing
these messages
and she's saying that she is just so, oh my God, when I saw the Epstein stuff, I was so disgusted as the mother of a daughter.
And, you know, I just think it's like, oh, you didn't know.
And it's a lot of, I'm not saying that the, the, that size feelings about it are unwarranted, because of course, the Epstein stuff is, you know, it's hideous.
It's some of the worst possible things that people could be involved in.
All of those, you know, feelings of disgust and things are warranted, but it's the way that
Cy is directing it at Carol is very intense. And, you know, Carol comments that she feels weird that
Cy is using her daughter as like a sword and shield of, of, you know, talking to her about this. And,
you know, she says that they should really be talking about why there were two presidential
administrations under which the men that were involved in this weren't investigated and that
that's that's the thing that's going to, you know, have an impact on your daughter is that
people are actually held accountable for, for behavior like this, which of course, you know,
resonates with stuff that's been in the news recently. And it's, I mean, it's a,
obviously this whole thing is just like a horrible, like nightmare situation. And it's,
it's something that I don't think Housewives is exactly equipped to talk about.
except for because Carol has been, you know, mentioned alongside these things, we kind of have to.
So it's almost weird to see the way that this is being handled.
And then Haley's like popping into, compare it to the John Gosselin stuff.
And it's just like, I don't know.
Like, in a way, in terms of like the media, sure, but like, it's not the same thing.
And I do feel, you know, Haley was on the show last week and I thought talking to her about
the, you know, homewrecker Haley and stuff.
I think it's really interesting.
And obviously it has loomed large in her life and in her perception of herself and how the world sees her.
But I do think that she is a little bit overthinking how much the world is thinking about that.
Then I'm like, I'm some, like, I do be reading celebrity news.
and homewrecker Haley is not some like large looming figure in pop culture.
I, to a certain, like in a certain moment, her experiences is real.
But I think that, you know, it's not exactly the same.
And Daisy's just kind of like, no one cares about John Gosselin, which is right.
Though I weirdly am kind of intrigued by the memoir that one of the kids just wrote.
And then I think he's the one that's on special.
forces world stuff is test with George Santos, which is just a crazy sentence to have to say.
But, no, but there's, yeah, the Epstein stuff is just tough because then Carol's asking
Cy, do you think I was involved in an international sex trafficking ring?
And so I was just like, look, I don't know.
And it's like, I mean, okay, but then it's like, what is Carol supposed to do with that?
Because there's no.
And she, you know, she talks about her own experience with sexual.
assault, which is obviously nobody wants to, you know, nobody's happy to hear that. And, man, I wasn't
expecting the conversation to happen this soon and maybe this in-depth. I thought it was going to be
something where Carol really didn't want to talk about it. And so maybe somebody would bring it up
and it would sort of be shut down, but then it's like the elephant in the room. We mentioned it all.
we talked about it.
It'll come up at least one more time when somebody
shouts at her on the street about being
the woman from the Epstein files.
But, no, so there's tension
in the air because, you know,
sigh's not feeling great and Jessel and Aaron still hate
each other and all of that. But later,
everybody's in the jacuzzi.
Daisy Husks, sigh, if she's in a better mood now, which is just
I feel like textbook, whatnot to ask somebody
who you think is in a bad mood.
And sigh's pretty defensive
about how she was with Carol, and then she
and Daisy are going at it, and Daisy's annoyed that Cy didn't defend her with the apartment
stuff, and she's like, yeah, like, I want you to say, I want you to say that Daisy's apartment
is nice, and I love spending time there. She's like, I don't love spending time there.
What do you want me to say? I don't want to go over to your apartment. I don't want to hang out in your
apartment. Sye is, I've kind of forgot how prickly she can be sometimes, and I, it's an interesting
energy. Because then Aaron,
Aaron tries to kind of interject because she's, you know,
buddies with Daisy right now.
And that gives Cy the window to then go at Aaron for talking about her marriage and,
you know, telling Jenna or whatever. And Aaron says that Abe is the only person she
told. And she seems, to her credit, Aaron seems like genuinely,
fairly confused about what Cy is accusing her of.
though I do think the the nuance is being a little bit lost because Jenna didn't say that Aaron told her.
Jenna said or implied or whatever that she heard kind of like via Aaron via someone else.
And Aaron keeps saying over and over again, like, I didn't tell Jenna.
I didn't talk to Jenna.
I didn't tell Jenna anything.
And it's like, right, like that's not technically what is being discussed here.
but it's it's messy and then sigh is um not done because she casually throws out that aaron has also
said horrible shit about jessel's husband and you know jessel then of course it's like
sorry what did she say about my husband and sigh's like go ask aaron because i don't want to
repeat it i don't want to bring it up and it's like well kind of you kind of you kind of did
you sort of did. Like, it's, it's up. It's brought, it's, it's been brought. But Aaron has glass
in her foot. She doesn't know what's going on. She, she, she just thinks sigh's not a nice person.
And, um, you know, Carol sees a pattern of sigh weaponizing rumors against people. And, um,
then the episode basically ends with sigh. Because, you know, Jessel is kind of like, oh,
Aaron, like, you've got glass in your foot, whatever. We'll talk about this later. Like, we'll put a pin in it.
And then she goes back to Cy.
And she's like, okay, so like, what did she say?
And Cy calls her makeup artist.
And she gets the makeup artist on FaceTime.
And she wants to confirm that Erin talked about Pavit at BravoCon.
And she says, when you and I were together with Aaron at BravoCon to the makeup artist on FaceTime,
did Aaron not say crazy shit about Pavit?
makeup artist says yes.
And then he says, oh yeah, Aaron said he's gay.
And she knows someone who goes to Pavett's gym.
And that, yeah, she like has proof that he was doing stuff at Equinox.
And he's like, and then, Cy, your response was that if it were true, it's not okay to out him.
And I'm like, okay.
Sure, but also, I'm like, if my, if I'm Jessel, and I'm like, okay, if I hear that Aaron was saying my husband,
is gay. I would want the response from
Sai to be like, that's not true.
Not, well, if it were true, that would be kind of messed up.
Like, I don't think that's like the perfect answer from
Cy, but also, 10 minutes ago,
Cy was like, ask Garen to tell you because I don't want to,
I don't want to repeat it. I couldn't, I don't want to bring it up.
I don't want to say it out loud on camera.
But then she calls the makeup artist and gets him to do it.
I do think the way that Cy
handled this is like a little bit interesting.
Sye is doing a lot in this episode.
And obviously, the undercurrent of all of this is that her husband just filed for divorce
without telling her as she was going on this trip to be filmed on Mosquito Island.
So I think, I don't want to say she gets like a free pass for being a little bit like a lot on this trip.
But I do think it's like that's important context.
And I wonder as the season goes on, if she will sort of adjust her approach, recalibrate, maybe, you know, step back a little bit on some of these issues.
Like, I mean, the Carol stuff, it's just like, I mean, what do you want her to say?
What do you want her to say?
And the, you know, the Aaron and Jessel, it does feel like she's setting herself up to not have a lot of,
friends right now except maybe Erica?
Maybe?
I don't know. Much to consider.
Let's talk about Salt Lake City.
God, Rodi's just been so, so juicy the last couple of weeks.
Lots to talk about. The apple has the juice.
And does the snowflake?
Let's talk.
We're still in San Francisco.
It's day three going on day 57 in San Francisco.
sometimes the little like mini trips almost feel too long, even though they're like shorter.
But they, they have a boat day and then they have a disco party.
And it's, it's a little bit continuation of, of what we had last week where it just, it feels like everyone just kind of hates each other more or less.
And there's not a lot of, it doesn't feel like there's a lot of like,
real material that we're talking about when it comes to the conflict within the group right now.
Because, I mean, the whole end of the episode is at this disco party, you know, Bronwyn is
inviting a lot of her friends from when she lived in San Francisco.
She invites her boyfriend Brandon, which is sort of controversial because she's like,
I want Brandon to meet the people that I know in San Francisco and also the women and whatever.
And meanwhile, Lisa and Meredith have been planning this, like, prank, disc track song that they're going to perform as a surprise at the party.
And it's about being, what's the name of the song?
It's the hypocrisy and bullshit song.
And they're acting like it's this fun, like, oh, ha ha, where it's about, it's about,
everyone in the group because everyone loves their hypocrisy and bullshit, right? And it's like,
on the one hand, I'm like, yeah, whatever. It's like a dumb thing. They're in their like disco
outfits and they're the glam kittens. And it's like funny to see Lisa and Meredith on the mic. And
I'm not like, I'm not like offended to my core that they did this at Bronwyn's party, the way that
Bronwyn is. But on the other hand, I'm like, would you like it if they did it to you?
like it's just like come on like it's a little I mean it's it's like silly but I get why
Bronwyn is annoyed and I get why she feels like it's kind of an attack even though they're
like no it's about everyone it's like that's not like nicer that's not that's not that's not better
if you say well you and everyone else also has hypocrisy and bullshit and then she kicks them out
she goes she goes I'd like you to get the fuck out because you're fucking bitches and then
they come back and do it again they break
back in on the microphone.
The whole party was a little weird.
There's like a conversation about joking about Brandon being an escort, but Bronwyn
said she's not paying him, so then he's like, he's doing it for free.
Heather's like laughing about this, and she's suggesting that Todd paid for this whole
trip, including flying Brandon in.
And Meredith, weirdly Meredith has an issue with that because she's like, so you're
implying that Bronwyn is a whore in her marriage, and then now you're also implying that
Brandon is a sex worker too, and what's going on with that?
I don't know.
This is when do you care about Bronwyn's marriage?
I don't know.
She just, I guess, wants an opportunity to say something negative about Heather.
But, yeah, I mean, earlier in the episode, we do get some important moments in the development
of what's going on with Whitney and Justin.
You know, last week we got more about Angie's marriage.
We've heard a lot about Bronwyn's marriage.
And Whitney takes the opportunity.
to talk to Heather because she is opening up about not feeling happy in her marriage right now
and that she's moved into the guest room and, you know, she and Justin haven't been intimate
in a while. And I think this is, this is a scene that's a good reminder of how, and Heather really
just did this last week with Angie, too, that like in the right setting, Heather can be such a
good friend when it's not the bullshit with Lisa and Meredith and, you know, whatever the theme
parties and facelifts and all of that, that Whitney is really being open with her about like,
you know, we were in this place before, you know, 10 years ago or whatever, when we were living
in, you know, in California and that we almost split up and now we're considering it again.
and Heather's like, well, maybe then, like, maybe think about that time and how glad you are that you didn't separate then, and maybe that's what you need to remember now.
But also, you know, asking her if the moving into the room is a baby step to divorce, like, it feels like she's supporting her in a way that a real friend would that's, like, beyond a TV show.
Now, it is like a little weird to watch this now, knowing that Whitney ultimately did file for divorce last week.
so it is like, I don't know, like the air is out of the balloon a little bit in terms of like this being a cliffhanger kind of storyline.
But I guess, you know, sometimes you got a file when you got a file.
And there's, I mean, the whole like Lisa and Meredith thing is really like spurred by them being upset that they say, Lisa says to Kwai that Bronwyn said they were strategizing in the bathroom the night before, which the footage.
shows that it was actually Brittany who said this.
And the producer in the confessional tells Lisa that.
And she's like, no, no, no.
It was Bronwyn.
I remember her saying and she was lying on the couch.
And it's like, no, she was just looking at her phone.
Like, it was Brittany.
But they go on a boat day.
Angie's being seasick again.
I'm like, I feel bad for Angie.
She can't even go to the disco party.
She's stuck in bed with her, her, like, nausea bracelets and her zofran.
And Lisa's like, she's like, set the air down to 60.
That sounds nice. I'm going to be in like a cold, crispy bed right now.
But they're talking about the lip liner and Angie, Angie's telling Lisa.
So I Google, she Googled and based on the golden ratio, the upper lip is supposed to be smaller than the bottom one.
And so Lisa actually needs to cool it on the lip filler.
And Lisa says that she has no filler in her lips and Angie can suck on them if she wants.
And she says, I don't know why Angie is so worried about what God gave me.
I don't think twice about what God didn't give her.
And I love when we just use the Lord for shade.
Like I think, you know, Christians, they can talk so much about being like holy and whatever,
but it's like there's some of the shadiest people around.
And I love that Lisa can make digs based on what God did not give to Angie.
But yeah, I don't know.
this, I think I'm excited for the San Francisco trip to be over and maybe then we can sort of
find a new rhythm for the rest of the season of Salt Lake. You know, it looks like Mary is going to be
back in a more normal way starting next week, which I'm really excited for. And it looks like she is
taking some of the women to task a bit, which I am honestly like totally here for. I think
if anything, she probably has a lot of room this season to kind of call people out and maybe
people will be a little bit hesitant to really like push back on her. So I'm interested to see how
that dynamic kind of plays out. Obviously, I hope she also is like continuing to heal and everything.
But no, I mean, I think I am ready. I want to like sage the room on Salt Lake a little bit.
And it doesn't feel like this trip really had the like standout moments that we've
come to expect from Salt Lake trips.
And, you know, maybe our, maybe our expectations are too high.
But I, I would like to see them kind of like just, just find the, find the groove a little
bit in the next couple episodes.
That is going to do it for us today.
Thank you so much everyone for listening.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
I am going to be on vacation next week.
