Starting point is 00:00:05 Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the Mention and All podcast and happy, happy 4th of July weekend. We're, we're kicking it to a nice little holiday weekend. And it is like 94 degrees in New York right now. And what a week it's been. A busy week. We saw the end of Real Housewives of Rhode Island for the first season. We've got some news. We're going to talk about in the city a little bit and you know that might be it I think you know it's a holiday weekend we we can let everybody out for the holiday a little early we'll see famous last words but first we have to address um the big development that has happened today as I'm recording and that is that Liz McGraw producer shows getting emails lit Liz McGraw has announced her departure ahead of real
Starting point is 00:01:00 House Boys of Rhode Island season two now this isn't a huge surprise because there have been some rumors and, I don't know, not nastiness necessarily. There's been some chatter about whether Liz would come back to the show. I think there were, there were like some real, you know, actual rumors that she wasn't coming back. And then there also has just been a lot of, a lot of people looking into things and asking questions and floating theories. And there's like some ongoing. as Liz wouldn't want to say. And so I feel like it's, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:39 we don't have like a definitive reason that Liz is leaving the show, but I feel like it's like kind of fair to say, like she's stepping away due to the ongoing. And how do you end that sentence? Maybe someday she'll tell us. But she announced this news in a post on her Instagram feed that's like a real,
Starting point is 00:02:01 but it's just text on a AI photo of a one. woman at the ocean, which I'm like, okay, what are we doing here? And here's what she said. She said, I'm full of gratitude for the amazing opportunity to impere on this show. As filming for season two begins, I've made the decision to take a step back and focus on my family, my work, and my passions. The R-H-O-R-I cast is an amazing group of women who have created something special. I'll be watching next season, rooting for the continued success of this franchise. For now, I look forward to enjoying this little corner of the world from the other side of the camera. I'm like, behind the camera? Are you going to be filming the show? I feel like you're just not going
Starting point is 00:02:43 to be in the same room as the camera. Is that, I don't know, it's a weird way to end it. I mean, this whole thing is giving like chat GPT slop a little bit, which like, whatever. You're allowed to announce your departure from Real Housewives after a single season, however you want. I have mixed feelings about this because I do think, you know, Liz was a key part of the season. She brought a lot to the table. She caused a lot of the conversation. But at the same time, I, you know, I understand if she has reservations about things that are being brought to the table, questions that are being asked, sharing certain parts of her life. If she doesn't want to keep doing that, then I agree with her decision to not be on the show because I would like us to have a group of women who are
Starting point is 00:03:34 you know open and sometimes honest and so you know I think it's it feels like it probably was the right decision for her but it raises a lot of questions about now what does season two look like because you know if Dolores isn't coming back which is fine if Liz isn't coming back assuming everybody else is coming back do we feel like that's enough will Bravo feel like they need to add somebody else, you know, are we looking for friends of? Are we casting a new housewife? Does somebody have a sister-in-law that could ruin their life? Who knows? Maybe that's the formula. It just opens the door. Whereas before, if Liz was coming back, I think you could just say, you know, copy paste, let's do it again. I do think, though, like, in the scale of, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:27 housewives departures it is it's once we have some distance from it it's like one season 10 episodes it's not a lot of time and so you know it'll be interesting to see whether liz kind of like stays around you know she says she'll be watching next season which i actually like don't believe because liz doesn't see like the kind of person to me that's going to be like oh let me see what uh what joel and rosy have going on let me say it's sunday night let me sit out and watch i think liz is kind of gonna forget that this show ever existed as much as she can. And, you know, I wish her the best. Maybe someday our paths will cross again. But in the meantime, I guess we'll see her on Ultimate Girls Trip. That'll be interesting, I guess. And by then they'll probably be filming
Starting point is 00:05:15 for season two. But Liz, thank you for your service, Diva. We'll see you on the other side. Now, the other news that I have to talk about is could not be more different from Liz stepping back from season two of Rhode Island. And that is that Kyle Cook and Ava from NextGen are canoodling, hooking up, dating. I feel real weird about this, you guys. By the way, but just to set the scene, because I know you're all thinking he's 43, she's 26. it is what it is. I don't know. I always feel weird about making judgments on age gap relationship situations because people just get so weird about it.
Starting point is 00:06:07 So like 43 and 26, it could be worse, but it also could be better. And that's how I feel about that. I don't know. I mean, like, I don't know. it does just, the thing about this is that the egg gap is one thing. But Ava just kind of like sucks a little bit. And I don't, I don't think she's a horrible person. It just is like, is she the coolest girl in NYC?
Starting point is 00:06:41 I don't think that she is. I mean, she has beef with Teresa Judice. One-sided, my dad, made up beef. Like, I don't, does Kyle really? Whatever. Okay, so I want to read, um, this. This is in Cosmo. It was first reported by Page 6, and this is, I want to read a few lines from this Cosmo article,
Starting point is 00:07:00 just because it makes me laugh. According to Page 6's sources, the In The City Star was spotted locking lips with next-gen NYC's Ava Dash, who was most recently linked to wrestler Tyler Cole Senercia. Good for her. In the VIP section at the Palm Tree Music Festival in the Hamptons, after he fully denied dating rumors earlier this summer. Quote, they were hanging out at a table in the VIP section for sponsor, Celsius. An eyewitness at the festival told the outlet of Kyle and Ava's kiss,
Starting point is 00:07:31 quote, it seemed like something romantic was going on from the way that they looked at each other. There was definitely a vibe that they were into each other. A separate source confirmed that the Bravo Leopardy's quote, aren't exactly dating, but they're in the beginning stages of seeing each other. I'm sorry. I love when we have a story with details like this, because it just is like so textural. I can, we're really painting a scene.
Starting point is 00:07:57 They're in the VIP section at the Palm Tree Music Festival for sponsor Celsius. And there's something romantic going on from the way that, it's like, okay, they said they were kissing. There's something romantic going on from the way that they're kissing, not that they're like looking at each other and holding, like, I just like, really? Kyle is in an interesting phase right now because he is truly single for the first time in a decade, acting single, not for the first time in a decade, but you know, a little more uninhibited, let's say. Like when Amanda was staying at home smoking weed or whatever, sitting in her filth, her piles of clothes everywhere, Kyle at least was like He had to wait
Starting point is 00:08:46 To wait till it was like 5 a.m. and he was blacked out before he would bring a fan back Now he can just make out with whoever he wants on the streets and it can be discussed But it can't really be Dragged let's say Or you know there's the moral compass is Aligned differently So now in the last few months Kyle has been spotted kissing Megan King
Starting point is 00:09:08 We know that he's hooked up with Sally Carson from Southern Charles and now hanging out with Ava, what are we doing here? What's the goal? Like, as much as I don't want to police an adult man's, you know, sewing his wild oats or whatever the case may be, I would like for there to be a little bit more direction in Kyle's exploring, you know, We're deep in this season of Love Island. I feel like exploring is kind of the word of the moment. I think that it's great that he's exploring his connections,
Starting point is 00:09:49 but I think that he could find some more fitting connections to explore. Like, I want to know, like, is Kyle, is Kyle on, like, Raya? I feel like he probably is. Like, why are we only being spotted with other women from Bravo shows that range in the age spectrum from, Megan King, I think, is like the same age as him all the way down to Ava, who's 26. Like, are there not, you know, single,
Starting point is 00:10:23 eligible, let's say, like, 35 to 45-year-old women who have not spent time on a reality show in the New York area? I mean, to be fair, like, I do feel that the dating scene is sort of bleak. But, like, I don't have a bit of a bit of a bit of, somebody, some, you know, girly who works in marketing who, but no, the problem is what I'm realizing, all the women that Kyle should be dating
Starting point is 00:10:55 have watched Summer House. And that's the issue, because when you spend a decade looking like the bad boyfriend, then husband, on TV, and all the women in the demographic that your wife is, are watching the show and hating you for 10 years or for part of 10 years, then when you're single,
Starting point is 00:11:21 they're all going to be like, ooh, no, I watched that and I don't want that for myself. So maybe I'm like, what's the solution for Kyle Cook? Dating women who have been on Bravo shows and maybe don't have a lot of standards, or I don't know, Does he leave the country? Does he, maybe he just needs to, like, not date for a second. Imagine that. Imagine if he was, like, bringing random women home the whole time that he was with Amanda, and then now he was just like, I'm going to focus on myself for a bit.
Starting point is 00:12:02 I don't know. I think he could benefit from it. I just, we can't keep doing it. Ava, Dash. What do Kyle and Ava talk about? Gia? Ariana? Like, is she asking him questions about summer? Like, I don't know. I just think, like, deep down, I feel like Kyle's cooler than that. And maybe that is like a crazy take. But I don't,
Starting point is 00:12:31 I just like, what do they talk about? Okay, let's talk about part two of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island reunion, because the season has come to a close. I know I talked about it a little bit with Liz's departure. But we closed the book on a great first season. I feel like at the end of, at the end of the season, I feel like some people started to be like, I don't know. Is it actually good?
Starting point is 00:13:01 Everybody loves it so much. But I don't know. And I'm like, can we just enjoy something? We have been in the trenches with some tough seasons of housewives. Remember, real housewives? of Dubai got canceled after two seasons. Real House stories of Rhode Island is night and day. It works. It's, it's, it's just, just enjoy it. Enjoy it for what it is. Um, this reunion, though, I mean, there's a lot going on. And we start with, uh, there, the Kelsey and Rosie situation.
Starting point is 00:13:36 Um, there's still, the thing between them is that it's like, as much as I want a reunion to be about, like moving forward and, you know, making progress and whatever. I'm like, I don't really think, Kelsey and Rose, like, we don't really need to, we don't have to pretend. These women hate each other. And it's so like, it just feels like they are oil and water. I'm like, I have heard so many housewives mess up and say oil and vinegar that now I have to be like, oil, what's the?
Starting point is 00:14:13 one that the oil doesn't touch. Oil and water. I think that Kelsey and Rosie just like, they don't strike me as two people who are meant to get along, or at least not two people who are meant to be friends. And, you know, Kelsey at the reunion is claiming that she actually doesn't care about the square footage of Rosie's house and that she actually, she really never did. Like, I pretty much didn't care. And it's like, babe, like, y'all did.
Starting point is 00:14:41 You just did. Like, you simply did care. And, you know, we're still, Kelsey's, like, still questioning what Rosie is saying about her, like, mortgage situation and being 50-50 on the house. And she's like, yeah, but, like, rich, rich had the money for the. It's like, who cares? Like, I think Kelsey's whole approach to this is really just, like, weakened by the fact that
Starting point is 00:15:09 she's saying she doesn't care. and then the second that Rosie says something that she doesn't believe or agree with or whatever, she can't stop herself from jumping back in with like, actually, Ellen, that's not the truth. And like, if you want to have beef with Ellen and call her out, that's fine. But then you can't turn around and be like, no, I really don't care. No, no, no, it's not my, say whatever you want. It is what it is. And, you know, Rosie brought to the reunion a bedazzled pink briefcase full of receipts.
Starting point is 00:15:49 And I think that's a good place to talk about the receipts at this Rhode Island reunion. Because the thing is, we don't really see many receipts at this Rhode Island reunion. We, you know, we get into a couple, you know, text messages and things like that. but we don't see many receipts, but we hear about so many receipts at this reunion. Rosie's got a briefcase. You know, Jo Ellen and Rula have, you know, different versions of the same documents, apparently, the same divorce papers and everything. You know, Kelsey has proof about stuff about people.
Starting point is 00:16:29 You know, it just feels like everybody has, is ready to say, I have proof. Your honor, you're on your, you're on our, I have proof. I have the papers. That's a lie. I know the truth. There is a limited, um, there's a diminishing return when your response to everything that somebody says in an argument is just like, I have proof. It's like the, it's like the, you're on family feud and you're trying to be the first
Starting point is 00:16:56 hit the buzzer. You're like, I have proof. It's like, we, enough. Say, make your point. State your. your claim, but the back and forth of everything being, I will actually, no, no, no, no, any, any, any, any, any, pick me, pick me, pick me. I have proof.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Because we know from experience 20 years of this shit, Andy doesn't want that. The last thing, you know, if you have a genuine, you know, item of article of evidence or whatever, that is going to influence the storyline that's going to really clarify something. That is what we want to see at the reunion. What Andy, and, you know, frankly, I don't want to see is like every single thing going back to a screenshot of a text message that I don't even have the context for it. Everything gets muddled. Everything gets, you know, it's not great for the visual format.
Starting point is 00:17:58 You know, it's, we're watching television. I don't need to see, I don't need to read a legal document while I'm watching an episode on Peacock. But there's just to me, and I guess it makes sense as first season Housewives in this sort of new era of reality TV that they're really like primed and, you know, locked and loaded and ready to come to this reunion guns blazing in a few cases. versus, you know, when you were joining Housewives in 2010, you were like, hi, Andy, yeah, I got this dresset. I picked up this cocktail dress at Neiman's, and I'm ready to, I'm ready to talk about the season. What could go wrong? Look, we're just approaching things from a different angle.
Starting point is 00:18:46 And now that we're in like, you know, post-receit culture, post-forthwall, you know, everything can be AI, images can be doctored. it's it's different and the AI thing I mean I am not a I'm not a big user of AI in my day to day life I don't I don't particularly enjoy it I like to drink plenty of water throughout the day but that's my main water consumption you know to each their own I guess if every receipt can just be denied or I was going to say debunked but it's not really debunked can just be you know, hit back with, well, that's AI. Uh-uh, that's fake. That's a fake image. I mean, we've had Photoshop text before. We've had, you know, there's been other instances. I mean,
Starting point is 00:19:37 Mia Thornton's photoshopping her body onto some, her face onto some random woman's body. The body was tea. Mia, girl, what are we doing? Um, it takes away the wow factor of a receipt. if somebody can just say that was AI and then there's no what do you do do you like unless you have it
Starting point is 00:20:01 scrolling on your phone or you know you have a photograph of a paper I don't know it's just how do we how do we verify anything and so it's almost like why bother and you know the Joe Ellen and Rula stuff I think that's also
Starting point is 00:20:17 I believe what Joe Ellen is bringing to the table because I do think at the end of the day that she just doesn't want to be, she's been called a liar. She feels very strongly that she has not lied about this. And so she is really just laser focused on bringing the proof. But if none of the proof is going to be accepted, even if it feels cut and dry, it is then kind of like why. why bother to begin with? Now, Rula says that she and Brian are doing better day by day. Every day, they're doing a little better, which I'm, you know, thrilled to hear, you know, after that tracker
Starting point is 00:21:07 thing and everything, I'm just so glad that they're doing better day by day. But things really get heated when they're talking about the timeline of her divorce because it's, or of Brian's divorce, rather, because it's clear when Joellen starts asking these questions that she's got something. And she says, when did he get divorced? She goes, 2010. And when did you meet? 2013. And when did you get married? 2016. And what's your anniversary? That's none of your business. You can't say your anniversary. Mine's July 30th. That's weird. What's your anniversary? None of your business. And so now Joellen is asking, are you, are you, married. Like legally married. And I just said like, I didn't realize, I didn't know that that was
Starting point is 00:21:57 in question. Is it in question? Because then Andy asks Rula Point Blake if she's married, she goes, Andy, I am 100% legally married. And then Joellen's like, oh, I wasn't saying you're not married. I just want to know the anniversary. And it's like, wait, but you weren't, but why did you? Joellen is like, I think she's playing 3D chess, but the chess set is like missing some of the pieces. So she's like, checkmate, checkmate, checkmate, and it's like, wait, but I didn't realize we were playing. We didn't start the game. And so I think she's just getting, she's getting ahead of herself a little bit, but I appreciate her work, her service that she's doing. And when Rula says, you're a psychopath.
Starting point is 00:22:41 And Joellen is grinning ear to ear. And she goes, I know. Thank you. Oh my God. I mean, Joellen is, I don't know if there's anybody else like her. She is really dialed in in a way that is kind of amazing to see. And you might not agree with her. I don't know that I would want Jo Ellen close to me in my life.
Starting point is 00:23:09 and maybe that's maybe that has a little something to do with why liz isn't coming back to season two because she saw the the um you know tap dancing that jo ellen is doing all over brian and rula's marriage and she's maybe liz is saying oh yo ellen and i had some uh some not good times this season what if next season she decides to to point the bazooker at me i don't think she would like that very much. I don't know. I mean, it just is, it's a lot. And so, I mean, Joellen is not doing a very good job of acting like she has Rula's best interests in mind, but like, I still think she's telling the truth. The husbands come out. I'm glad they got them all there. You know, it's a, it's a, it's a nice group of guys, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:02 Brian is in his, like, you know, the ugliest shade of teal I've ever seen, um, looking, and sweating bullets already. But it's nice to see Jared. It's nice to see Bill and Billy and Gary and Jerry and Rich. And I think that's all of them. I don't know. I was interested to learn, not surprised, but interested that Kelsey and Bill are living together now. Because I do recall on the season last year,
Starting point is 00:24:33 she was pretty clear that she wanted to live on her own for a year. and, you know, just kind of experience that. But now the new guy's not paying for her, not paying for her lifestyle anymore, or the old guys. So, interesting. I want to talk about the thing with Liz and Liz being with another guy.
Starting point is 00:24:58 And she said in part one that Rula and Brian called her husband, when they were separated and she had been like flirting with another guy dancing, whatever, and to tell her husband about this. And so Rula denied this. She said it didn't happen. It's a lie. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So then when the husband's come out, Andy asks Jerry about this.
Starting point is 00:25:24 And he's like, oh, yeah. So my friend gave me a call and he put Brian on the phone. And then Brian told me about this. And Brian, I mean, the only time I'll say this, to Brian's credit, he admits it. And Rula does not know. She did not know. And that is the thing. This reunion is such a like humiliation ritual for Rula because even though Brian is not really willing or able, apparently because of his legal situation, to say much in terms of specifics.
Starting point is 00:26:04 There are just all of these little moments where you can tell that Rula is being caught off guard or learning new information or just kind of like hearing about something in a way that is fresh or new or, you know, just like newly hurtful to her. But because she has decided that she, that her role in this is to deny, deny, deny, be strong, be strong. be strong, stand by her man, whatever. She can't really let it show. I mean, when Joellen brings up, I have the receipt from the Chanel store. It's your account number. It's $4,100, which $4,100 doesn't get you much at Chanel these days. I don't know if you've seen those prices.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Wild. But she goes, okay, here's this bag. Was that for Rula or was that for the mistress? Brian's like, I can't answer that. She shows Rula the picture of the bag and she goes, is this your bag? She goes, no, that's not mine. And it's those little moments where Rula's not going to say, oh, fuck you, Brian, you bought a Chanel bag for the mistress. But just that momentary admission of, that's not my bag.
Starting point is 00:27:25 It says it all. And I mean, I would love to see like fly on the wall when Rula and Brian went. home at the end of the day after this reunion. What was that like? Because, I mean, this whole day is really just like themed around this. I mean, there's there's the whole question about when did the situation with Brian and the mistress end? Brian is not willing to say anything because he says of this lawsuit. But Gary, Joellen's husband, says that he saw Brian and the mistress at a restaurant right before filming and that she introduced. him as her boyfriend.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Brian doesn't really deny this. You know, he says, Brian calls the mistress his former partner. Sorry, former, former partner. Partner in what? I get, did they work together? I mean, former partner is crazy. And, you know, nobody can give,
Starting point is 00:28:29 nobody can give an answer. He's, it sounds like maybe he hasn't seen her since October of last year. But then Joellen has this text from November where Brian, she says, is telling the mistress that he can't wait to be her boyfriend slash fiancé. Fiance. Nuts. But there's, yeah, there's just a lot of questions. And Brian, I mean, glad he showed up, but he isn't really willing or able to give any answers. And I think that's like, that's where it just feels like Rula really needs to either, like, leave him or, I mean, I don't know what else to do.
Starting point is 00:29:18 She says she's traumatized and she's still working on forgiveness and trust after the tracker thing. And when he's like, well, you know, I couldn't talk to her for four weeks because of the, no contact order, and it made me realize how much I love her. That is so textbook, toxic, toxic shit. I mean, it's literally the same thing on Love Island this season, which Love Island, mentioned it all Island time every Thursday. I'm trying not to talk about Love Island too much on here because I know people get annoyed. But it's literally the exact same thing sincere is saying to to Melanie when he's like, all of that exploring I did with soul, all of that exploring I did with Amora, made me realize how much I felt about you and how strong our connection was. Ladies, he's lying.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Don't listen. That shit isn't real. And so Rula is like, you know, she's putting in all this, you know, emotional labor over these months and maybe years to try to forgive him to get back to a better place. And I really feel that he is not being honest with her. And when you're trying, to rebuild and improve something and you're not starting from a place of honesty, the house needs a foundation. There's going to be a earthquake, tornado, whatever disaster they get in Rhode Island, it's going to wash right away. And, you know, I don't wish that for Rula, but at the same time, it's like, open, you got to open your eyes, baby. And if you're not willing to, it's, it's not going to end well. Okay, I'll talk about it in the city.
Starting point is 00:31:09 a little bit, because I thought this episode was kind of crazy. Because we finally get to the moment in the season that I thought was the most intriguing from the trailer, and that is Yvonne and Nick's wedding redo, whatever that was. But they're at this dinner. They're at this dinner for Yvonne and Nick's wedding. And there's a lot going on. First of all, Danielle shows up in a light pink dress. It's quite light.
Starting point is 00:31:47 And, you know, everybody's noticing. Yvonne is pissed about the dress. She throws it in her face later at the dinner when she's like, can you shut up, especially wearing white to my wedding? And here's the thing. Okay, there's been a lot of back and forth about this. So I do agree with the the old adage that if you have to ask, you already know. Like if you, if, because Danielle, she did text Yvonne and say, what do you think and a photo?
Starting point is 00:32:21 And Yvonne says, love it. Now, okay, so I do agree that Danny Girl should have known when she had to text Yvonne. I'll just find something else. but Yvonne, to Danielle's credit, she approved the dress. Now, neither here nor there, kind of. But, you know, Danielle's just like, she's not helping herself a lot. But we get to the dinner. And Gavin, who really has stepped up in these last few episodes,
Starting point is 00:32:57 to sort of assert his place as a bit of a shitsterer in the group, a messy man. And you know what? I love equal opportunity mess. I think, I mean, we watch so much housewives. We love housewives. The women are the ones stirring the pot for the most part. And on housewives, when the husbands are trying to stir the pot, it's like, know your place. A woman's place is stirring the pot.
Starting point is 00:33:23 A man's place is like preferably being quiet. But on a show like in the city, having a man to stir the pot is, I think, appreciated. And that's a certain genesis qua that I don't know I was expecting to get from this show. And so Gavin asks how Kyle and Amanda being separated is going or living, sleeping in separate places. And Amanda's like, well, you know, before I was usually going to bed before Kyle. And Gavin's like, oh, because you were high. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 00:34:01 Oh. I didn't quite know we were diving into that, but she's like, no, me smoking weed wasn't ruining our relationship because I never brought someone home at 5 a.m. And right away, I mean, Gavin, I don't know if he knew exactly what he was doing when he brought this up, but he has hit that nerve right there. And because Kyle then is saying that the quality of their relationship was bad because she was always high. And then Danielle calls out Gavin for instigating. And Yvonne is like, shut up.
Starting point is 00:34:39 You're in a white dress. And Yvonne, Daniel calls Yvonne a bitch. And suddenly I'm like, oh, oh, boy, this is not, this is not going the way it was supposed to. And then Gavin steps it up a notch. and he asks Amanda and Kyle if they're still in love. This is crazy to me because it's one thing when it happens on Love Island and the whole point of the show is to talk about your connections. But the idea of 30 and 40-something adults being at like a group dinner
Starting point is 00:35:19 and talking at the table about whether they're still in love with their partner is not. Not something that I have ever encountered in real life. Because it's like such a intimate thing to unpack in front of the group. And Amanda says that based on how their relationship is going, it would be silly to say she's in love with Kyle because of how he's treating her. And I'm like, oh, okay. So that's a no. And Kyle also says, yeah, you know, I have so much love for her, but am I in love with her right now?
Starting point is 00:36:08 No. I mean, at that point, it's like, yeah, pack it up. I think, because it's less the, to me, it's less about the feelings themselves because people go through ups and downs and relationships, whatever you work it out. But the fact that they're both willing to admit it in front of everybody, I feel like that's when you know that you don't it's you don't care enough to put on this I mean I don't want people to be fake but like there's no united front it's totally the opposite and that was just I don't know it took me by surprise and then suddenly Lindsay is crying because she's like
Starting point is 00:36:54 all these, you know, these, I thought I was going to have love and my, you know, Carl abandoned me and my baby daddy abandoned me and now Kyle and Amanda are not even in love with each other anymore. A lot going on. I almost, I almost feel bad because Yvonne is just like, she literally says, is there anything we can do to make this about me and Nick right now? She's like, I am in a wedding dress and nobody remembers that I'm here. And I mean, I got to say, tough, tough beat. The Danielle and Owen stuff, I'm not sure how much I care or maybe I'm getting the real crux of the marriage timeline stuff because I'm, I just guess, I don't, I don't dislike Danielle enough to assume that she's a homewrecker, and I don't know enough about Owen to assume that he's a
Starting point is 00:37:54 shitty guy. So I'm kind of just like, if they are both saying that they started hooking up after his marriage was over, after he was separated, I don't really know these people. I'm down to just like accept that. But this group is so focused on it. And it's just, it's a lot. And, you know, Danielle clearly feels the same way. She's like, Owen doesn't have to clear his name. You haven't cared to get to know him beyond this one thing. And he, it's not his job to clear his name to you. And Lindsay goes, then why is he on the fucking show?
Starting point is 00:38:32 And Danielle's like, because he's with me. And Lindsay goes, and why are you on the show? And I feel like after seven or whatever, how many episodes this has been, we have, we've, we've put it all out there. We have gotten to the root of the whole thing. And I think that this is, it feels like in the city with this type of interaction and really this whole wedding dinner, I mean, congrats to Yvonne and Nick for being married for a year and a half. It feels like we have really unleashed the potential of this show. And I hope that it continues to be operating at this level. I hope that we continue to get some really good, you know, arguments and confrontations.
Starting point is 00:39:18 I hope that everyone's doing okay. But then the episode ends when Kenny, everything has gone to shit. And Kenny's just like, so me and Lindsay have been talking about planning a trip for Friendsgiving. And Yvonne is like, God damn it! I planned this whole event. And it's been a total shit show. and nobody has cared one bit about me and Nick, except for Georgina,
Starting point is 00:39:45 thank you for that lovely toast a few minutes ago, but it didn't really do anything. And now you're stealing my thunder and announcing a Friendsgiving trip to Connecticut? What does a girl have to do to get a little attention on her third wedding night? I feel for you, Yvonne, but also, thank you, Kenny. That was beautiful and messy.
Starting point is 00:40:06 And just I think this might be the best. episode of In the City so far. And I'm excited to see what happens next. What could go wrong at Friendsgiving in Connecticut? That's what I have to say. And what could go wrong Fourth of July weekend? Have a great time, everyone. Stay safe. Stay happy. Stay healthy. Thanks so much for listening, watching. Until next time, be cool. Don't be all like uncool.
