Starting point is 00:00:02 Hey everyone, welcome back to the Mentioned at All podcast and another Friday episode. Oh my God, you guys, I feel like Wendy Williams, we got a lot to talk about today. There's divorce, beheaded, died. It's like the musical six is coming to life. No, thank you for being here. We made it through another doozy of a week. Man, there's a lot going on. And I am excited to get into it all.
Starting point is 00:00:30 But not all of it is good news. But before we get into, you know, the marital tragedies and the Epstein files and who knows what else is coming down the pipeline, let's talk about what we have going on here on mention it all. First of all, don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube. YouTube.com slash at Bravo by Betches. Earlier this week, we had Whitney and Kenny on the podcast shortly before their hot seat performance at the In the City Season 1 reunion. It was really interesting talking to them. Like, at the end of this season, they had already filmed the reunion. And I think, like, you could tell that they were a little bit shell-shocked, maybe. And that came across in the reunion.
Starting point is 00:01:14 That comes, you know, maybe it comes across in the interview. You'll have to watch or listen to find out. But I hope you enjoy that. And then next week, we have a treat. Coming on Tuesday, Heather DeBrow is on the show. She's been on once before, I think, like, five or six years. ago. But we had her in the studio. Just a lovely time. We talked about a whole lot of things, everything O.C. Season 20. And I think you're really going to enjoy that episode. So make sure
Starting point is 00:01:42 you're subscribed or following or whatever the platform is requiring a few to make sure that you know when that episode has come out. But before that, we have a lot to talk about today. Let's start with Salt Lake City. The bell has told twice this week the, the The gong has been struck twice because not only did we get reports the other day that Angie Katzenavis and Sean Trujillo have separated, but now Whitney and Justin, they're living separate lives amid financial drama. Damn. What's going on? Now, there have been, I feel like with Angie and Sean, there have been like whisperings and wonderings over the last handful of months.
Starting point is 00:02:39 People have, people who are more invested in reading tea leaves than I am have been reading those tea leaves like their lives depend on it and had kind of speculated that maybe something was going on. This week it was reported though by, I would say sources that are not like ironclad. Angie, to my knowledge, has not spoken on this yet. Not like the tabloids that I know are 100% correct, but the ones where it's like usually they're pretty much on it, they're saying that Sean allegedly had an affair with a stylist at the salon.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Not lunatic fringe. Lunatic fringe is supposed to be a place of fierceness and love and she haircuts. And it's a place that rich women from the Salt Lake City area have been going to for decades to get their shit chopped. The idea that that sacred Katsunavis landmark could be desecrated by infidelity is just painful and really hurtful and disappointing. And Angie K is somebody who I just like never want her to have a bad day. And I feel like there's people in the world. And look, I don't want to say that there are people who I'm like wishing bad days upon.
Starting point is 00:04:03 But there's people who I think have earned some bad days. There's people who I think, hey, you didn't sleep so good last night? Good. Deal with it. Live in that. And I feel about Angie Kay that like she should wake up on the right side of the bed every single day. She should hit all her traffic lights just right. Her coffee should always be delicious and frothy and exactly the right temperature.
Starting point is 00:04:26 and the idea that her, you know, perfect, you know, peace and happiness could be obliterated by some sort of stylist person at Lunatic Fringe. It's disgusting to me. And if that didn't happen, then I take it back. But I'm never one to lean into, like, questioning someone's sexuality. But I will say when I read that article and it said a stylist at Lunatic Fringe, I'm like, is that like, stylist? Fierce man cutting hair or like some hussy that, you know, is like a younger version of Angie.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Like, what are we talking about here? If somebody figures out who the stylist is, I mean, all bets are off. But also, like, I'd like to know. If you know who the stylist, alleged stylist in question is, tiptoe on into my DMs. I'd like to have a chat. But then, just 48 hours later, we hear that Whitney and Justin, they're on maybe the opposite of a healing journey, the family's being torn apart. And they're apparently living separately and it's all gotten to be too much. And Whitney has basically confirmed this because the cast minus Angie has been
Starting point is 00:05:42 pretty active on social media this week. And I got to say, Meredith and Lisa, in theory, congratulations on being the last two, you know, upstanding healthy marriages on this cast. I don't really count Mary and Robert Sr. Because, like, first of all, when was the last time she spoke to that man? We certainly haven't seen him in, you know, three to five years. But also, like, I, there's a lot of water under the bridge there. But, you know, Meredith and Lisa have, they've made it. They've triumphed.
Starting point is 00:06:14 And Meredith is going to let you know because she posted on threads. Threads is really where everybody's going these days to let it all out. You know, Meredith on threads in particular, it's very chaotic because she'll go from being like, love is love girlies everybody loves love and then like an hour later she'll post on threads and this was a real one that she posted the other day she goes do you agree with the death penalty and if so why why why is meredith marks opening a debate about capital punishment on my timeline in in the year of our lord 2026 what are we doing but meredith took to threads as she is tends to do and said it's ironic when you see everything that has been said about you manifest
Starting point is 00:06:57 in the people who said it. Much more to come on the subject, but people who spread negativity about an aspect of someone else's life usually are insecure of that in their own life. 2026 has been a year of karma in so many different ways.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Sparkly heart emoji. Lisa Barlow chimes in. First of all, it's a collab post. Lisa Barlow and John Barlow, of them in their like jeans and black t-shirts, embracing, and John is holding a bottle of Vita tequila, which really exists and you can find it at, I think,
Starting point is 00:07:33 almost any store, you guys. And the caption is just partners in it all. Look, as someone of loves mess identity, like I, in a way, I'm living for this because there's so much to dig into and there's a lot going on and you got to think they're going to bring cameras back up because how could you not when you have two separations and, you know, the other, the other girls can't wait to, you know, are clapping their hands like seals. But on the other hand, reading what Meredith wrote, these are real people that you have a real life relationship with. Even if you're not on good terms with them or you feel like they've been negative
Starting point is 00:08:19 toward you in the past, is it really worth it to be gloating on threads about someone else's marriage falling apart. Both of these couples, I might add, have children, like minor children. Think about Elektra. Who gets the horse? Think about Bobby and the other one. Whitney's kids. It's not a fun thing when you have to like navigate that as a family with kids. And so as much as I'm like, ooh, hoo, the rumors and then ask you to us to come home to roost. Like, obviously that's like a side of Meredith that we all know and and like appreciate sometimes. But it's just a little bit like, damn.
Starting point is 00:09:06 If I got divorced and people were on threads being like, we said karma would come back around and here she is, my love. It's just a little, it's a little shitty to me. I don't know. Lisa Barlow's post is a little funnier though because it's like your declaration of love and unity with your husband is a photo of you carrying a tequila bottle. Where are the wedding photos? Where, like, is there a photo of you, like, looking in love? Like, this is like, my husband and I, yeah, we're in business together, as all happy couples are. No, but Whitney did.
Starting point is 00:09:37 She also took to threads a few times earlier this week. The first one, which I think was before the news broke, she just said, let's see her response. Flight or fight? Girl, in this moment, are you making a decision? Like, what's going on? Usually people say fight or flight. She had to be different. Flight or fight?
Starting point is 00:09:56 And then she said, shout out to all the women on here who support other women. And, you know, that says a lot. There's a lot of people on threads who are, you know, wishing her well. And then she also, she added, and this was just earlier today on Thursday.
Starting point is 00:10:11 Thank you, everyone, for all of the love and support during this time. I am so grateful for my at Threads family. Threads is really working overtime. They are in the mix here. Everything's going out on threads. No, but it's a tricky thing because neither of these marriages are the types of housewives marriages where it's like, oh, she finally left that icky, icky man. Yes, queen, be free.
Starting point is 00:10:38 This is going to be the best years of your life. This is the beginning of the rest of your life. Congratulations. What hot young thing are you going to date next? Both of these are like marriages that we were introduced to when we met these women. in and like I said, they have kids and they've been through trials and tribulations together, particularly Whitney and Justin, like, it really seemed like they were in love. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:06 We saw them, like, covered in paint, humping each other. We saw Whitney on the pole and Justin's like, hell, hell, yeah, he got fired from his job for her. Like, this is not Bronwyn leaving Todd, which, I mean, so now in the span of, what, six months a year, have three single ladies added to the mix on Salt Lake City. It's going to be a different era. I mean, it is, it's kind of weird to think about all of a sudden that there could only be like two real active marriages on this show. But I don't know, we'll see how it goes. We'll see what next season looks like. Like I said, I have to think they'll be picking up cameras, but we'll see.
Starting point is 00:11:49 but what we will be seeing very soon that we got the trailer for this week is finally the new Roney is, the new Roney is back again. Season 16, they're rebooting the reboot. We've got some new girls. We've got some old girls. We've got some medium age girls. I don't know. This trailer was interesting because season 15 of Rony was so poorly received and it really seemed like kind of a lose-lose situation of what they should do after that. And so as we know, they went the route of keeping Aaron, Sy, and Jessel. They brought back Carol Radzwell. They cast three new women. And so now we have this sort of like Frankenstein intergenerational rony cast. I saw someone like put put out like the ages. And it's like a couple of the women on here are like 39 and Carol's like 62. And it's like,
Starting point is 00:12:46 sure, why not? Everybody hangs out with lots of different people. They could be friends in real life. I don't know. But there was just a lot of, I think the vibe leading up to this trailer has kind of been like,
Starting point is 00:13:01 do we really need to keep doing this? Like what is left to scrape from the bottom of the barrel here? And I got to say this trailer, I think it's a good trailer. I don't want to get ahead of myself. I've seen some people saying, oh, the new season looks iconic. It's going to be great.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Maybe. Maybe. Could be. I don't need to proclaim anything about a season that I haven't watched a single second of yet, but I think they did a good job putting this trailer together. And at the very least, it seems like this cast has enough going on to appear exciting. And that's, I think that's kind of the best you could hope for. And interestingly, I got sent the, like, press, release with the trailer along with the photos and the, you know, announcement and everything. And the first thing that my eyes went directly to is Carol Razzal will returns holding an
Starting point is 00:13:58 apple. She is in the center of that cast photo. If you recall, when they initially made the announcement about who was going to be on Roney this season when they were filming a few months ago, they announced the new women, they announced who was returning, they announced that Carol was coming back, but they said that she was going to be a friend of. And so somewhere in the filming, post-production, editing, you know, marketing meetings, photo shoot, whatever process that has happened over the course of the last six months, Carol snatched that fucking apple back. And that to me is really intriguing. Because obviously we've had friends of that have been very present during filming and are, you know, a key part of the show. And, you know, we see like Miami and Cynthia Bay.
Starting point is 00:14:44 and it's not that that's a new thing, but something happened. There was some reason that they said, you know what, this is silly. We got to just make Carol a housewife. So that I'm really intrigued by, and she in the trailer, the big kind of question mark was, are we going to talk about the files? Are we going to talk about Madame Gillen Maxwell, who took the photo on the back cover of Carol's award-winning book. They're documented as, as, you know, having this relationship. We, we kind of got to talk about it, right? And oh, boy, are we going to? Because in the trailer, not only do we see Cy asking Carol if she's ever been to that island, you know which one, but we also see, I think it's, it's Carol and Aaron are like just walking on the street somewhere and some woman just goes,
Starting point is 00:15:40 Epstein files. Isn't that the lady for the Epstein file? I'm sorry, I was not, I was not aware that it was that bad for Carol that she's getting cat called on the streets of New York as the lady from the Epstein files. Now, I, I don't, to be honest, I am not like the world's foremost expert on the ins and outs of everybody that's in the Epstein files and, you know, who's implicated in, you know, what and whatnot. I would say, you know, release the files. whatever the government's doing there, it doesn't seem great. I don't know the total extent of what we know about Carol's involvement or like, you know,
Starting point is 00:16:25 adjacency. So I am really curious to see how this is addressed, how this is navigated on this show, because it seems to me like the powers that be would probably not want to have like a whole season of Roney that's kind of mired in like Epstein Files drama. but at the same time, it feels like if you're going to cast Carol on the show in 2026, you can't not talk about it. And so I'm really curious to see how that kind of is dealt with. I'm also now really excited to see. So the new women, there's Haley Glassman, Erica Hammond, and Daisy Toy.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Daisy is the one who's Martha Stewart's makeup artist. She seems fun, maybe a little more down to earth. Haley Glassman, look up the before and after photos. she got a whole new face, body, whatever. She was the one who was like the trolling Claudia Ashery online and then denied it when she got called out. Weird vibes from that one. And then Erica Hammond's like married to a billionaire, used to be a WWE wrestler. And she and her husband own a private island.
Starting point is 00:17:33 They go to the island like on the, not that island, this island, on the trip for the season. And in the trailer, you see this looks like a trip from hell. And the women are talking about how this place is like a dump. Can you imagine you come on a house size for the first time? And you're like, yeah, my husband is like, he's pretty wealthy. You know, he does well for himself. And we do own this island. And oh, ladies, don't you want to come to the island?
Starting point is 00:17:59 I'm bringing the ladies to the island. And then they get to the island that you've been bragging about for three months. I'm assuming I haven't seen the show. And they're like, this island sucks. These sheets? What's the thread count? this place is a dump. Devastating, but I can't wait to see it.
Starting point is 00:18:16 I mean, we have had some dozy real housewives trips in the last year from Potomac and Colorado to Atlanta, their trip to Dallas. I don't know where this is going to kind of fit in amongst those just like wonderfully messy trips, but it seems like this season of Roney has some juice. And that is all I could hope for from this trailer. It comes out in September. I'm excited to see it. I'm excited to discover it together. And if it ends up being boring,
Starting point is 00:18:49 then maybe we can just kind of like pretend it didn't happen. But until then, we'll see. You never know what's going to happen. Take this as your sign to go. We're three episodes into this season.
Starting point is 00:19:56 We're starting to kind of get like the lay of the land of what's happening. Who's going to be friends? Who's going to make up? Whether Tamara has changed, because of course we feel like she has, but then has she? That's the eternal question. But, you know, we're still kind of getting our bearings this episode. because we start in the wake of Emily's 50th birthday party, we have to talk about the podcast some more.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Because apparently, as Emily was leaving the party, Tamara was like, oh, now that we talked about this podcast thing, now you can get invited to IHeart events again because I had told you that I had told them not to invite you. And Tamara says that she was joking, but Emily definitely doesn't take it as a joke. And it's just like the idea that Tamara Judge is like potentially blackballing Emily Simpson from getting invited to like, what are the I-Heart events that she's missing out on? Is it like they do like the awards?
Starting point is 00:20:59 There's like the I heart music awards. I'm sure there's like industry stuff in L.A. I don't know, but it's just messy. And like as Emily is like talking about this to Shannon. you can tell Shannon's just like, how many more times? How much time has Shannon Bador spent in her life just listening to people talk about something shitty that Tamara has done to them? Weeks, months, years of her life, just listening to people air grievances about Tamara and she's like, and in fact, I kind of know what you mean. In fact, we are on the same page. That is why,
Starting point is 00:21:38 I'm not good idea with that again. Cut two later in the. episode. But Vicki's, Vicki's like biggest wish this year. You know, she got her orange back, so that's biggest wish number one. But biggest wish number two is why can't the trace amigas be friends? Why can't we all get along? Because she's, you know, she just wants everybody to be able to hang out and she's asking Shannon, why can't we just, you know, oh, can we please? And Tamara, meanwhile, she's sick of being the villain in Shannon's narrative. It just is like, again, every time we're talking about this, like no two people are mad about the same thing. It's like, Tamara's like, well, I apologize.
Starting point is 00:22:17 But then Shannon's like, well, she was, then she yelled at me at the reunion last year. And then also, three weeks ago, when we were filming Ultimate Girl's Trip, it's quiet woman, Tamara was telling, you know, in front of everyone that I'm an alcoholic and I'll never get a man again. And so Tamara still is like saying that she's apologized for what happened last season. And it's like, dear, we've moved on to something that happened three weeks ago. you know, Vicky finally gets them together at the Quiet Woman, which it's like, is there no other restaurant? Was Javier's closed? Mastros?
Starting point is 00:22:49 It has to be the Quiet Woman. We have to sit at that cursed booth at the Quiet Woman. And Vicky orders, what is you, a steak salad. Ugh. It feels, I have not been to Orange County. I haven't eaten at the Quiet Woman. So somebody correct me if I'm wrong in a five-star review or in a really lovely comment. what is the vibe of the quiet woman?
Starting point is 00:23:10 Because it feels like a very like stodgy kind of like old fashioned type of restaurant. And I guess it's appropriate because Shannon kind of shows up in like Kathy Bates from misery type of outfit. Or maybe like Julie Andrews at the beginning of Sound of Music when she's still a nun. Like what are we doing? Shannon, please. But you know, Tamara gets there first and right off the bat. She's like, okay. So Vicki, here's my game plan.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Um, I'm just going to say, you know, it's been a long time. We've, I've done things to hurt you. You've done things to hurt me. Such as life. Why can't we just, you know, clean slate, move on? And Vicki's like, well, unfortunately, do you think she's going to, she's going to want an apology? And Tamara's like, well, I'm not apologizing. Tale is old as time.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Song as old as rhyme. If you don't want to apologize, then why come to the dinner? I love when people on housewives just act like completely obtuse. in a situation where somebody wants an apology from them, where it's like, is it accurate that Tamara and Shannon have both done things to each other? Of course, I mean, they've known each other for 15 years. How many times have they fought?
Starting point is 00:24:19 Of course. But the way that Shannon is right now so laser focused on this most recent incident during the Ultimate Girls' trip filming, and Tamara, it's like she doesn't even remember that that happened until Shannon specifically is like, We were literally at this same restaurant not one month ago, and you were blowing up my shit in front of everybody. How do you think that made me feel? Shannon has to be that specific for it to click with Tamara, and she's like, well, yeah, probably not good. And I'm sorry for that. Oh my gosh, she says she's sorry.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Ah, an apology. Did it have to be so hard? Did we have to pull such teeth to get there? It is funny, Tamara bringing up Shannon saying, I guess last season, that it was a gift to Tamara that she filmed with her. I mean, that's just funny. But they have agreed now to move forward and have fun with each other. And, you know, we even get a little giggle out of Shannon at the end. They take a photo together because that's how you, you know, consummate the friendship makeup as you have the waiter at the quiet woman, take a photo of you awkwardly standing next to the booth as, as we all do. Do I think this is going to last? You know, I don't.
Starting point is 00:25:36 I don't see that in the cards. It just, I don't think that we will ever, and not that I was ever, like, obsessed with the concept of the Trace Amegas, but like, we're never getting that back. We're never going back to like 20, I don't know, 16, whatever year they were all getting along, where they're dancing on tables and they're at Andalais and, you know, not a care in the world.
Starting point is 00:25:59 We can't get that back. These women are in their 60s. It's a rap. I'm not saying they can't get along or they can't be friends again. It's just like that specific magic of whooping it up with the Trace Amigos. It feels a little old-fashioned now. And I don't think we're going back to that place. Now, I've skipped over some stuff earlier in the episode.
Starting point is 00:26:21 To be honest, it's a bit of a skippable episode. I was really, I don't know, moved isn't the right word. I was intrigued by the scene with Jen and her son Grayson because earlier in the episode, we see Jen and Ryan together. And Ryan is suggesting that part of the reason why Grayson is acting out, you know, he got this crazy speeding ticket. And now we've heard that he was involved in starting a wildfire. Not great. He's in a fire safety course. Thank God.
Starting point is 00:26:49 I'm like, what about whatever happened to Juvie? I don't know. I'm abolished prisons. Whatever. But Ryan is suggesting that part of why Grayson is acting out or is in a tough position is maybe because he doesn't really see his father. And Jen's gut reaction to this is frustration. And she seems kind of annoyed at Ryan for suggesting this that he's kind of somehow undermining her, you know, parenting or how much she's had to take on having full custody of the kids, you know, navigating stuff with their dad and all of that.
Starting point is 00:27:26 And when she was first bringing it up, like I was kind of thinking, oh, maybe she's kind of projecting a little bit because she also feels a similar way about her ex not being there with the kids as much. But, you know, it's hard for her to admit that, whatever. But then the scene with her and her son later in the episode, it was kind of hard to watch because, you know, she's asking him about, you know, bringing up this stuff. And he says, well, you know, I'm seven. and, you know, it's hard and people aren't always nice to me and, you know, not everybody likes me.
Starting point is 00:28:00 And I don't, I've been like going through a lot. And she's kind of like, well, I don't know what that means. When you say you're like going through a lot, like tell me what that is. And he brings up, I don't really see my dad anymore. He's not around. You know, I'm with you 24-7 and I like that. It's not that that's a bad thing, but it's different. And Ryan, who certainly in his.
Starting point is 00:28:23 his time on the show has not always been, you know, the fan favorite or the correct person in every situation. When he's saying earlier in the episode, like, fundamentally, it's, it's important for people to have relationships with their fathers and parents. And it's to watch Jen kind of be confronted with that. I was glad that in that moment, Grayson was able to be honest with her about that. Because thinking about being a 17-year-old kid and not even, I mean, you're on TV, which is a whole other element to it. But like being honest with your parents about what's affecting you and how a situation that maybe feels out of, out of your control is making life harder for you. I just think that's a really hard thing to open up about. I have to think that like talking about those things and having
Starting point is 00:29:14 those conversations and and making Jen realize or understand that it's not a negative thing toward her for her son to be dealing with something like this, but it's something that she can potentially figure out how to navigate once she is aware of it. It just felt like a big moment in terms of that family relationship and dynamic. And I don't know what's happened on the other end. And, you know, presumably, you know, the fire thing doesn't seem like a great sign. But I don't know. I felt for Grayson in that moment. And I felt for Jen too. Like I think I think she has been through a lot. And I think in these years that she's been on the show, we've seen her really working through a lot of stuff. And it's easy for things to kind of like slip through the cracks.
Starting point is 00:29:58 And I feel like when you're able to have those open conversations as a family, it's an opportunity to really like work through things together. I don't know. It was kind of sad, but it was also nice. I don't know. Meanwhile, we see Carmella at home with her kids and they're like joking with her about skipping school, which I didn't find that cute. It's like, go to school. Babe, like you don't need to tan. Go to school.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Okay, Atlanta, we're still in Scotland after the dual bombs that Portia and Shemia have dropped on each other. They still make it out to the club for Fadra's birthday. I was impressed because I'm thinking, okay, you have been out all day, you went to the, like, Tartan store. You're at this dinner in Edinburgh, which has to last like two hours. It's been dramatic. You have a long ride home on the sprinter van. My ass would have skipped the club. And I know it's Patriot's birthday.
Starting point is 00:30:51 And it was a rare opportunity to get serenaded by Kay Michelle. I did love, though, seeing them in the club. Now, Kelly has removed herself with Shemia away from the table. So the rest of the women, they go to the club initially. And it looks just like so fun. They're like, I didn't know there were this many black people in Scotland. Good for them. But then Kay Michelle's on the mic.
Starting point is 00:31:14 And she's like, they're playing like all of the Atlanta women's songs, which is just so funny that it's like, and K-Michel has a song, and did you know Portia had a song, and now it's Drew's song, and then, oh, we'll play Shemia's song too. And K-Michel, of course, is singing my favorite song versus V-S-O-P. Very special. But then Shamiya and Kelly ultimately do come to the club, and I just am kind of like, look, I know that Shemia really wants to be on camera.
Starting point is 00:31:44 I know that we love attention in this house, but like, you could not. pay me to show up to the club where everybody else is going to be after you have just shown your ass in that manner at the dinner an hour before, just go to bed, go to bed. But they show up to the club and then surprise, surprise, shortly after they show up to the club, Portia leaves with Drew, Angela, Cynthia, and Fadra in tow. And it's like at that point, unfortunately, the night's over. Like, it's a rap. You know, Drew was saying like, oh, Shamia started it so you can't blame Portia for finishing it. And then Shamia, after all of this, is complaining that they left the club while her song was playing.
Starting point is 00:32:30 She goes, I just thought it was disrespectful. That, you know, we were at the club. And then, you know, we were there for all of their songs. And then they left the club. Well, my song never had triple platinum was playing at the club. And I'm like, girl, be for real. Nobody cares about your music. And then leaving the club because you showed up after, you know, talking about her mom, they were going to leave either way.
Starting point is 00:32:54 They could have been playing, you know, what's the biggest banger that you don't want to leave the club? They could have been playing heated by Beyonce. And you would have left in the middle of that song if you were Portia. It doesn't matter. Shamiya, it feels like, and this is something that has come up now a little bit in the cast, you know, Pinky's bringing it up and, you know, Angela last week, that Shamiya seems to be. moving through this group in ways that are kind of particularly angled to create a moment, to make an issue, to keep a friend, to lose it. Like, it's very, it feels a little calculated.
Starting point is 00:33:30 It should be I'm thinking that they're leaving the club when her song is playing. It's like, girl, nobody else is is trying that hard. Because even then at the, at the end of the episode, at Fadra's birthday dinner, of course it's awkward. Of course, it's, of course, Portia's being, you know, a little bit shady and a little bit messy when she's laying it on thick with this toast to Fadra about how they've been best friends through it all and that when anything is going wrong in Porsche's life, Fadra is the person that she knows she can count on. And Shemia, of course, is listening to this and being like, bitch, she wasn't even at your wedding. What are you talking about? But that's what Portia's going to do.
Starting point is 00:34:09 and Shemia, if she was being honest, would stand in that, you know, truth of like, this girl and I hate each other now, and that's kind of where it's going to leave off. But instead, by the end of the dinner, Shemia is apologizing around the table. And, you know, Portia and Drew are not even at the table. You know, Drew has gotten emotional about something. And so they've left about her dad passing away. And Shemia's giving these apologies. And I love that. Pinky's like, Shemia, cool it with the apology.
Starting point is 00:34:39 I don't want to see this like YouTube channel apology when I know that you have not actually cooled down at all about this. You don't, the way you feel in the last 24 hours has not changed at all. You were just talking about this girl's mom yesterday. And I actually, the last couple episodes, I've really been enjoying the way that Pinky is engaging in the group. I think I talked about this last week. And this was another episode where it wasn't that Pinky was like the center of attention,
Starting point is 00:35:04 but I just thought she, she like added a good little, you know, extra ingredient. to the stew, and I think that she's been doing a good job with this later in the season. Portia, I feel like, is also, like, bullshitting us a little bit because she calls Lauren, her sister, to debrief the next day. And, you know, she's talking about how off-camera, apparently Shamiya had been gloating to Cynthia about how she still gets to see Pilar, Portia's daughter, because of Dennis. And so that's, if she, if she wasn't hanging out with Dennis, she wouldn't get to see PJ at all. And it's like, again, what I was saying last week, it's like, why would you be hanging out with a seven-year-old whose mom you fucking hate? That's weird.
Starting point is 00:35:46 You don't need, she doesn't need to be at your house all the time. And, you know, Portia's saying her daddy ain't never had teeth. She says that Shamia is trying to destiny swap with her. That it's like, it's, it's intense. But then Portia kind of turns around and is acting like, before this, all Shamia would have had to do to make up with her. It's just asking. They could have been cool at any time. And that's where I feel like Portia's being like a little bit revisionist history because it's like there was no point in this season where Shamiya could have had like a simple conversation with you and you guys would have been fine. Maybe things wouldn't have escalated to this level. But that is not the same as like us being cool again.
Starting point is 00:36:29 They barely even spoke a word to each other. And so I I think like where we are right now, Portia and Shemia should not pretend that there is any fond. or inkling of reconciliation. You know, I'm curious to see what the vibe will be like at the reunion, but it's kind of like, why would you want to be friends again? Now, I personally feel like we might not be seeing Shamiya on this season next year. So maybe Portia will kind of get off easy, and the reunion is the last time she'll really have to navigate this at all.
Starting point is 00:36:58 But I don't know. It just, it feels like, it feels like this conflict has just sort of like reached its natural end point of like, yeah, you guys just hate each other. And that's okay. I did laugh when they were in the car and Fajra was talking, somebody asked Fadra about dating after her divorce. And she was like, well, you know, I really didn't. Because, you know, if you think about it, I only had like two boyfriends in those seven years. And we just got to Cynthia in the confessional.
Starting point is 00:37:22 And she goes, bullshit. And she is in the car literally like pretending to be asleep. And you know that she, when Cynthia is like, I would rather just close my eyes and pretend to knock out rather than have to like engage. with Fager Parks just lying through her teeth about her love life for the last seven years. A little moment, but just classic Cynthia. So funny. And it's like, she's like, I see those outfits here.
Starting point is 00:37:49 I see the legs. That's not for, you're not wearing that for just like sitting around the house. But another good episode of Atlanta. I'm excited to see like how this season wraps up. I feel like the reunion is going to be really good. Let's just talk about next gen and YC a little bit. I'll talk about the In the City reunion next week when we, fully wrap up. We had Whitney and Kenny on the show this week, but like a solid reunion from
Starting point is 00:38:12 them, but we'll get into it more next week. But on next gen, basically this whole episode is at this Halloween party? And it's a lot, a lot going on. Every week I find that next gen NYC is just like a little bit more, a little bit more juice, a little bit more stuff to look at, a little bit more going on. This week was no different. I mean, there's just a lot of dynamics, you know, going on at Halloween. And, you know, Ariana is annoyed at shy for telling Hudson that she was flirting with Liam because she thought they were friends and she's like, why are you sharing my business? Brooks and Charlie finally have a conversation. Brooks says that Charlie talked shit about his dad on season one of the show and Charlie says, fuck your dad. You have the least respectable dad on planet Earth. He's a house husband. Again, Charlie doesn't
Starting point is 00:39:01 understand that 90% of people watching this show are housewives fans. And so, being a husband of a real housewife that people really like is not cringe. Not to the people watching this show. We love Seth Marks. Oh, love me some Seth. Me and Georgia put us in the camp together. She loves the pep talks. She loves the wisdom. I think it's a little corny, but I do. The man is sexy. I won't lie about that. I don't know what his thoughts are about Angie and Sean splitting up, but I feel confident he won't post them on threads. So that's probably for the best. But no, we're at the Halloween thing, and nobody knows what Rocky Horror is, which just, you know, like, as a millennial gay man, I'm like, figure it out. Brooks Marks being like Rocky Mountain Picture Shop.
Starting point is 00:39:48 I'm like, what are you talking about? Google is free. Google is free. It's not always accurate because sometimes you get the Gemini bullshit up atop. And that's, Google Gemini would be like, Rocky Mountain Picture Shop is a musical. That was blah, blah, blah, blah. Oh, my God. Use your brains.
Starting point is 00:40:02 These people, I feel like they kind of like looking dumb. And sometimes I'm like, you know this is being filmed, right? I don't know, but Charlie, Charlie at the Halloween thing, it's like, okay, ask me any questions you have. And, you know, he's denying again his crypto, whatever. And he says that Ariana's on probation, so she's in good company with his legal troubles. That was a choice. And then suddenly, weirdly, Ava is like taking it upon herself to be in the middle of kind of Georgia and Charlie's issues. Ava, again, I'm not loving the vibe.
Starting point is 00:40:35 I don't think the vibe is great. But the last thing I want to talk about is that Amira then confronts Charlie because Georgia has told her that she heard from Charlie that Amira was complaining about Georgia flirting with Kevin at the trip last year. God, it's a lot to keep straight. The gay grapevine, the straight grapevine, a lot of names to be said in a very particular order. But right away, Charlie is like, oh, yeah, that might have been me.
Starting point is 00:40:58 I might have said that. So good enough for me. So right away, the gay assistant is off. the hook. Hallelujah. Love is love, pride. But then Amira tells Georgia, um, and Georgia says that Charlie also has talked shit about Amira's boyfriend, Kevin, and said that he's a gay man. Now, don't love this. Amira doesn't love this either. She freaks out. She, you know, wants to get her mic pack taken off. She's out in the street. She's, um, you know, yelling at Charlie. She says what Georgia just told her and he says that's a lie. Now, am I inclined to believe Charlie?
Starting point is 00:41:31 and no. Not as far as I could throw him. I don't trust that man. Am I inclined to believe Georgia? I guess. I don't know. Georgia seems to me like somebody who's messy, but not really like somebody who would make shit up. She just hears a lot of things and it just kind of like filters in and out. But yeah, it's not a great look because I mean, Charlie is just like already on the shit list. And if you've also then been saying that someone's boyfriend is gay, not good. I don't like that. Which like, you know, What else is new? I don't like something that Charlie said. But it does feel like there has been a lot going on on NextGen already. And it feels like the sort of stakes are being raised a little bit.
Starting point is 00:42:12 And it's, it feels like now that we're midway into a second season of a show, it's like these people are like real dynamics. And I'm excited to see the way it's unfolding. Recently, our company's softball team lost the big game by one run. Then Dale tried to console us with the quote, winning isn't everything. Well, Dale and I are very different.
Starting point is 00:42:37 I get early payout from Bet365. If my team goes up big, I get paid out instantly, even if they blow the lead later. Sound familiar, Dale? Thanks, Bet365. This episode, Mention It All, is brought to you by Ford Expedition. If summer is about one thing, it's about getting the group chat together, and taking the trip you've always talked about.
Starting point is 00:43:36 And the Ford Expedition has enough room for the whole crew, so you can hit the open road and rediscover what you're capable of together. I love any excuse for a good road trip. And when I was thinking about this for today, I was thinking about a road trip that I went on a couple summers ago. It was just one friend of me, and we went upstate for the weekend. And I got to drive. And I don't get to drive all the time.
Starting point is 00:43:59 And so it was so nice to just be with the open road. and then when you get where you're going, you can just like take a little detour, you can stop in a little store, you can go to a cute little cafe, and then you get where you're going, and you can have, you know, bags overflowing in the back of the car.
Starting point is 00:44:15 And there's just nothing like being on a road trip. And so, you know, being here with the Ford Expedition is just getting me in the mood. And I feel like I need to plan another summer road trip soon because it's been a couple years since I've really gotten into that road trip vibe. And boy, I'm getting in the mood now.
Starting point is 00:44:33 So learn more at www. forward.com slash SUVs slash expedition slash 2027. And since our episode is sponsored by Ford this week, we'll be going on a trip down memory lane and revisiting one of my all-time favorite Real Housewives adventures. Let's get into it.
Starting point is 00:44:49 And for this week, OC is back. It's season 20, Orange County. It has been many years of going on adventures with the Orange County ladies. And when I was thinking about this, the one that stuck out to me was in season 11, the trip they take to Ireland. Now, this was the time. I mean, back in those days, the OC cast, I mean, not so different from what it is now.
Starting point is 00:45:13 We had Vicky, we had Tamara, we had Shannon. Were they getting along? Weren't they? It depended on the week. Of course, Heather was there. And this was the era of Kelly Dodd, kind of when we still liked her, mostly. And also, Megan King Edmonds. And of course, Megan King Edmonds, Irish Queen.
Starting point is 00:45:31 She was the reason that we went on this trip because she was going to Ireland with a purpose. Now, everybody was going to Ireland for their own reasons. She was going to find her ancestors. And from the start of this trip till the end, her number one focus, it's not what's going on with Kelly and Tamara. It's not what's going on with Vicky and Shannon. It's finding the O'Too clan. Now, a lot of the time on Housewives, when they're going on a trip, there's some sort of impetus. You have to have a reason to get the group chat together. It takes a lot to get everybody
Starting point is 00:46:05 on the same road trip together. And so sometimes it's a business launch. Sometimes it's a family event. And with Megan, she needs to meet with her genealogist in Ireland. And she also was pregnant on this trip. So it's perfect because she can send the rest of the ladies on a pub crawl and she can go meet with her genealogist. And this is just like, it's such a kind of random storyline for housewives, but that makes it so much more fun because they touched down in Ireland. And Shannon Padour, I guess is also Irish. She's like, what could be more Irish than the name Shannon? And right off the bat, she just can't help herself. And she is saying, top of the morning, top of the evening to everybody who will listen. Heather Dubrow is in the car
Starting point is 00:46:50 looking up a list of like Irish phrases on her phone. And they're like, we're having a whale of a time. Nobody in this group is even getting close to the correct proper Irish dialect, let's just say. But bless Shannon for trying. She also, one of my favorite things that anyone has ever worn on Real Housewives is that bright green sequin top that Shannon breaks out on the second day they're there with like a black bucket hat. And look, is it what I would choose to wear? Perhaps not. But is it burned in my brain in a way that I absolutely love? Yes. But anyway, we get a lot of this Megan King Edmonds journey to find her family. The genealogist, she has like tea and crumpets with the genealogist and he's telling her that she's probably related to almost everybody in this town in Ireland because the O'Toole clan just like, I don't know, is everywhere. And so the next day, after Kelly has had a massive blow up with the group, she's like, I think it would be better if I don't go to the milk farm with the group. So I'm going to come with Megan. And we're going to go to this.
Starting point is 00:47:57 town and we're just kind of wander around and ask everybody if they might be related to this sweet woman. Just like, imagine, imagine, imagine going on a trip and just thinking that you're going to walk around and be like, excuse me, hello, do you know anyone with the name of O'Toole? Excuse me, hello, I'm trying to find my ancestors. I mean, more power to her. I am not that bold. Like, I don't want to speak to people when I'm in public like that.
Starting point is 00:48:24 So Megan, she doesn't really succeed in finding too many of the ancestors. She and Tamara do go to this like old manor house that maybe one of her ancestors is like lurking around there as a ghost. But that's fun. They end up going to the milk farm. They're eating steak with glasses of milk because that's what you do in Ireland, I guess. But it ends up being just the funniest trip because you really have Megan going on this unique journey of familial ties. Meanwhile, the rest of the women are on an odyssey of screaming at each other,
Starting point is 00:49:02 crying in the back of a van. There's just, there's a lot of chaos going on. And I kind of appreciate that Megan is just like, they're to find a relative. She wants to pass it down to her children, her Irish heritage. And I love that on a road trip like that, everybody in the group can be having a really private, different experience. And some people maybe are having the time of their lives and some people want to go home early. And sometimes that's just the way it goes. But it is such a treat to return to my favorite scenes from the Housewives franchise. And it is seriously inspiring me to do some rewatching of my favorite seasons.
