Hey everyone, welcome back to the Mentioned at All podcast.
I am so excited to be here today to talk about a whole variety of things that I feel like
lately these Friday episodes, there's been a lot of chatter in the air, a lot of updates
and developments and things that just make it fun to kind of like catch up and talk about
what's going on. Of course, this week we have Ultimate Girls Trip, Roaring 20th that we have
been waiting for all year and it's finally here. So we're going to talk about the first episode of
that and how this season is sort of off to a start. Probably a little bit of Atlanta reunion,
part one was this week. The Valley reunion part two was this week. NextGen NYC. They're at Bravo
Khan. Not going to talk about OC today. There's going to be a lot of OC on the podcast coming up,
especially because we have Ms. Gina Kirshin-Hider on next Tuesday's episode. So make sure you're
subscribed. Stay tuned for that. Gina, I think.
I think first time coming on the pod, I loved chatting with her.
She was in the stew.
She was great.
I think she's having a really lovely season.
So make sure you're subscribed for that.
Speaking of Tuesday episodes, earlier this week, we had Amira from NextGen NYC, another
lovely guest, had her on last year, and she was back to catch up about everything that's
going on in season two.
So if you haven't watched that already or listened, it's out there wherever you're watching
or listening now.
So go find that.
just like a fun summer. I feel like we've been in a good groove. You know, we've had some next
gen, some OC, whatever else is going on. It's been fun. I'm excited to keep it going. But before we
get into those shows, a few things that have been happening around the Bravo-related internet that I
want to talk about. And not, so the Bethany Supermodel Cafe is still happening. I don't really
have news about that except I have a co-worker Jamie if you're listening shout out Jamie her mom I think
lives in East Quag where it's happening and she's getting like day to day updates of like they're loading
in the flowers they're putting up the signs there was like a truck out front the supermodel cafe
is happening and um like it or not I feel like we're going to be inundated as soon as it's open
with you know propaganda essentially I already saw um a couple of
The like New York City influencer girlies got like a special delivery from Bethany for the
Supermodel Cafe.
Well, it's like, it's like Hallie Kate and Jazz if those names don't ring a bell for you.
Like, congratulations.
It's going to be tough hearing more about the Supermodel Cafe every week.
I will try to keep it to a minimum.
But speaking about influencer drama, I don't know if anybody else is on the side of TikTok
that has been talking about this girl Acquired Style's wedding.
Her name is, her actual name is Bridget.
But she's an influencer who lives in New York who has a twin sister.
And they're both influencers.
And they're both, you know, beautiful blonde white ladies.
Congratulations.
But Acquired, Bridget got married last weekend.
And for people who care a lot about like macha and Pilates, this was a big event, acquired style getting married.
And everybody was like, what's she going to wear?
As you might guess by the name, her style is like her.
calling card. Her name, it's like I always think about it, like the Ramona Singer tagline.
I'm an acquired taste. If you don't like me, acquire some taste. It's like that, but with style.
I don't really care about these people except, except, it turns out she got married in this beautiful
Vera Wang gown with these like, I don't know, silk flowers kind of like coming out of her
pelvis. And the next day, after the wedding, low and behold,
who posts a video on TikTok wearing the exact same dress with one of those captions.
People always do the video where it's like dresses I loved but didn't choose or like the dress I
almost said yes to. Briel Beerman at the scene of the crime. She posts the day after Acquired's
wedding. I'm just going to call her Acquired. She when before, before Acquired has posted her
real wedding photos when the only way we know what her dress looked like was like one photo that
leaked where you could see it. How is how are we getting more leaks from acquired styles wedding than
we did from Taylor and Travis? We still don't know what that goddamn dress looked like. It's been
over a month. What's going on? Travis is back in football. Taylor's having a solo night out in
London I saw. Still no wedding dress. But anyway, so pre hell posts this video where she's like flouncing
around in a, you know, wedding salon, wearing the exact same Vera Wang gown that this
prominent influencer has worn one day before. And so everybody is, you know, in the comments,
stitching the video being like, girl, Briel, this is so shady. You're like, or not shady
necessarily, but like a little, a little messy kind of hopping on like, oh, look at me, I wore
the same dress, even though she didn't end up buying it. But I'm like, also, is Brielle getting
married? Perhaps. I don't keep up a lot with the Brielle Bierman narrative. But so everybody's like,
oh, Brielle's like basically clout chasing on Acquired Stiles wedding by posting a video of herself
in the dress the next day. And Brielle has been adamant that this was not on purpose. She's like,
you guys, once and for all, we scheduled that post, we, the team, whoever, we scheduled that post
on Friday.
The wedding happened Saturday.
The post was scheduled to go live on Sunday.
We do that.
I love when influencers are like explaining something like this and they are,
they're acting like they're giving you a peek behind the curtain of how like content
creation works as a career.
And it's like, you guys, so sometimes we schedule posts in advance.
Yeah, like no shit.
Like this is like, okay.
So she's like, yeah, we schedule.
Scheduled it for Sunday. It went live. It was before the wedding. I've never met Acquired Style. She seems lovely. I wasn't meant to imply any shade, whatever. It's just like, okay. Whatever. This is so, it's just like so brain rot that it's like people on TikTok making their little talking head videos being like, did Acquired style shade Bridget Phelon? Like, Breel Beerman. She posts the same dress off the rack because the whole thing is like people.
thought acquired was going to have like a custom dress. And if Brielle tried on the same one,
then it's like, oh, off the rack, I see. Brielle's always in some mess, though. I love it.
Speaking of mess, the last time we talked about Carlos King's podcast was a few weeks ago when
Kelly from Atlanta was on there talking about how she set the standard when she joined the show
for getting a helicopter escort to dinner, you know, whatever.
Carlos has outdone himself because this week, I come across on my TikTok, a clip he had
Peter Thomas on.
Now, why in the Year of Our Lord 2026 are we seeking out Peter Thomas for an interview?
I don't know.
I can't say.
To me, who cares?
But this clip, it's not just Peter.
in the interview. It is Peter and his girlfriend, who is, I think, like, 30 years younger than him.
And I was not prepared because the clip starts and you're just seeing Carlos and then it transitions to the other angle.
And this woman, this beautiful woman, is sitting on Peter Thomas's lap.
And they are conducting this interview with her perched on his knee.
as they sit probably like 18 inches away from Carlos, and he's asking them questions about their
relationship. And I just need to know, was there not another chair available?
Could they not have, you know, found a stool or some kind of Ottoman that she could have sat on?
Just literally anything.
She's like bouncing up and down on this respectfully old man's knee.
And I don't know how long this interview went on for.
only watched the one clip, but in this clip, Carlos is asking them how they met each other.
Because, you know, Peter Thomas has a bit of a reputation. He's been around the block,
you know, two or three or 74 times, you know, since being married to Cynthia Bailey. God,
I'm so glad she got out of there. And they, he says that they met in Miami at a day party
in 2024, which like, classic.
And she's like, yeah, I saw him from across the party.
And I just like went up to him.
And I just like, it was like a chemistry.
Like we just had a vibe.
And she's like, I didn't know who he was.
And then I go back to my friends.
And they're like, isn't that Peter?
And I'm just like, okay, if you don't know who this man is and then somebody says,
isn't that Peter?
And that's enough for you to know who the man is.
You know who Peter Thomas is.
And it's just.
Ugh, it's so silly.
And, like, as the clip goes on, Carlos, which, like, I mean, Carlos King can ask people questions that nobody else would get away with.
He asks them if they want kids together.
And she says that she's open to it.
And he is like, no, I don't want kids.
But if it happens, I would welcome it.
And then Carlos literally asked them if they're using protection.
Should I be asking my guess if they use protection?
That feels intimate.
Thank you.
Producer Joe says no, and I agree.
But the long and short of it, they're not using protection.
So maybe Peter Thomas will be having another baby at some point in 2027.
Oh, man, I don't know.
I haven't thought about Peter Thomas in a minute other than some of his legal troubles.
But I just, I was really laughing when I saw that last night and needed to let people know
what's going on. And Carlos King, like, if you need another chair, I can send you a Wayfair link. I don't know.
The other thing I just want to touch on quickly, before we get into Girls Trip, is I saw this piece of
news today that Netflix greenlit, a new ensemble reality show that is going to be set in Arizona.
And we don't know much about this yet. There isn't any cast attached to it that we know of.
there's not like a whole rundown of what the show is about, but it's seemingly going to be an
ensemble show, and one of the executive producers behind it, who has a production company now,
is a casting director who in the past has worked on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and
selling sunset, which tells me that this show is probably going to be something about a group
of wealthy women, you know, serving looks and fighting and arguing, hopefully in Arizona.
but the thing that I really feel like I need to tell you
is that right now the working title for this show
is Arizona hot
Arizona hot
Arizona hot
what is that
what are we doing? I know it's just a working title
I really feel like they need to work on it a little bit more
the title needs some working
because
I don't want to say that I think Netflix
is lazy when it comes to their reality TV output.
But I do feel like a lot of the shows that they sort of serve up on a platter that are intended to be for the the Bravo and Bravo adjacent audience are just a little bit like, oh, I, I've watched like 1,200 episodes of Real Housewives.
I'm not going to be swayed by like some, you know, kind of like, basic.
show that you came up with in 10 minutes and it's just like selling another place,
buying a different place, running another place.
Like we need a little bit more, a little bit more juice with the Netflix reality if
it's going to feel, because even at this point, Hulu, not everything they do is landing
with me, but they are really like, they're putting in the work to make something compelling.
and, you know, a show like Secret Lives of Mormon Lives, whether or not you love it, there's a real hook there and a real, you know, like, jeanisequa.
And sometimes that jeanisei qua is like bad hair extensions and, you know, sitting on hay bales at a party in someone's yard.
But there's a vision.
And Arizona hot to me doesn't quite have the inkling of a vision.
but I will hold my tongue and I will wait to see what happens with this show and what it is called when it is finally actually coming out, presumably sometime next year, if it's just being greenlit now.
But before that on Netflix, we have Earl Meets World to look forward to.
So maybe it'll be a very Netflix reality fall and we'll see how that goes.
Now, let's talk about Girls Trip.
It has been a long road to get to this new season of Ultimate Girls Trip.
we thought we might never have another one after the debacle of Morocco,
after Rony Legacy kind of flopping a little bit.
It's been a few years.
It has been, you know, on the back burner.
And this 20th anniversary really was a no-brainer time to bring it back to do something special.
And after watching one episode, I think the jury is still out.
Well, for me, I'm still out on.
whether or not this season is going to be really special and good.
But watching the first episode, there were some moments that I really enjoyed.
There is a little bit, and this always happens with Girls Trip.
There just is a little bit of that awkwardness at the beginning where it's kind of like,
okay, we know and
know in love is a strong word.
We know and appreciate all of these women
for their, you know, distinct contributions.
We know how they fit into their sort of home ensemble series.
We, you know, they have their own moments.
They have their own vibes.
But like, what is sort of the atmosphere of the group
and how is it going to mesh together?
What are the tensions going to be?
Where is there going to be friction within the group?
It's not always a slam dunk right away that, oh, yeah, this group really just, like, has it.
And I think when they get to the first half of the episode, you know, when they're, like,
arriving in O.C.
There's the first day.
They're going on the boat.
Like, it is a little bit, like, stutter stop.
I'm trying to catch the vibe.
Later in the episode, it starts to pick up, but before we get to any of that, they start this season off with the thing that everybody has been, I think, most anticipating, which is Linne Thea Leaks is back on Bravo.
She's in the house, specifically Portia's house.
She comes over while Portia is packing for her girls' trip adventure.
And I thought it was really smart to do this because not only do they kind of address the, you know, the, you know, the, you know,
the icon in the room right away.
They're not making you wait three episodes to get a glimpse of Nini.
You know, they're not kind of, we already know what's happening.
It's not going to be a surprise.
But it was nice to see, it was nice to see her and Portia together, but also just to give
Nini kind of her own moment to like re-arrive.
Because presumably when they are in Atlanta later in the season,
we know there's going to be a lot of different appearances.
We know there's going to be, you know, other, you know,
OGs and iconic housewives and stuff.
And I think it was a smart decision on the part of production
to acknowledge that Nini coming back to this show
and this network is a step above anybody else
who's making an appearance on this show.
They respect it right off.
off the bat, you know, Portia even is giving her her flowers in the moment. We get a whole montage
of some of her most iconic things. It really feels like they are, they are aware of how much people
have been waiting for this. And so to get it right off the bat was nice. She's, she's bringing in
her big Birken that's custom painted with all of her own catchphrases on the side of it,
which I think truly for anyone else in the world, that would be so cringe.
But for Nini, it's like, yeah, she's that girl.
Of course she should have a Birken that says bloop on the side of it.
Why would she not?
But so we get those few minutes of Nini.
I really enjoyed it.
I'm very curious how much she will be involved later in the season, whether she has any drama with anyone,
what the kind of vibe is there.
because as we get to the end of this season of Real Housewives of Atlanta,
the casting rumor mill is churning once again as always.
And people, now that Nini, you know, now that the door is cracked of her appearing on Bravo,
people are really going back to the well with the rumors of Nini, contract Atlanta,
add her to the show, contract talks, she's circling, what's going to happen?
I don't think there's anything real to that yet.
I mean, it might happen.
It might not.
I don't think that there's anybody has been like reporting real news out there.
But now that, I mean, she's back.
The beef is squashed presumably.
And we'll see where we go from here.
But yeah, so they start the road trip proper in OC.
You know, everybody's kind of introducing themselves, which is like funny.
when it's like, yeah, these are like seven of the most well-known women on reality TV.
They kind of need no introduction, and that's sort of the whole point.
But, like, Lu, Ann is like, well, you know, I've been the countess.
I've raised my kids.
Married, divorce, been to jail.
But at the end of the day, I'm just Lou from Connecticut.
Just like J-Lo is from, who is it, the hood?
Oh, Lou Ann.
The producer's like, the block.
She's like, oh, no, the block.
How can you not know Jenny from the block?
Oh my God. J-Lo from the hood is just brutal.
But yeah, everybody arrives.
And what does Vicky do to mark the occasion to kick things off on a good note?
She has swag bags for everyone.
And that is so kind, so thoughtful.
Oh, like, what are the bags cute?
Oh, they have the Koto Insurance logo on them.
Okay.
Oh, there's hats in the bag.
Like, like, do they have people's catchphrases on them?
What are the hats?
Are they, like, you know, cute, are they fun?
Oh, they're Cotto insurance hats.
Oh, good, good, good.
Oh, what else is in the swag bags?
Oh, it's a clipboard with insurance paperwork.
Victoria Gunwelson will never change.
Can't, can never change.
And I appreciate it.
In this context, I thought the clipboards with the paperwork on it,
it was a very funny touch.
But oh my God, this episode, and I think probably more through the rest of the season,
I just cannot imagine having to spend this much time with Vicky.
I know she's iconic.
She's the OG of the O.C.
We hear a lot about who put Housewives on the map.
Vicky at least is in the conversation,
depending who you ask.
I just feel so strongly that Vicky would be my nightmare to spend like 10 consecutive days with
because it's this type of shit every 10 minutes.
They're on the boat.
They have these cardboard cutouts of all the women of their first season cast photos.
It's funny.
It's like a, it's a fun little touch.
and Vicky's like, who do you think change the most?
I think Teresa.
And it's like, Victoria.
Once again, crazy work.
Because Vicky is somebody where love her, hate her, anywhere in between.
The woman has had like three face lists over the course of her time.
We know this.
It's not a secret.
She talks about it later in the episode.
She dedicates her whole Bunko party redo.
to Slade Smiley, saying she looked like Miss Piggy back in 2010 and getting her face done because of it.
And she's like, Teresa's changed the most.
Teresa's like, I had done was the tip of my nose.
She was like, okay, whatever.
But it is like, oh, Vicky, Vicky, Vicky.
I'm a little torn because I guess it's like you really couldn't do this specific show.
without her, but at the same time, it's like,
would it have been more fun if she wasn't there?
Would it have been like a little more?
Could there have been somebody?
I don't know.
I shouldn't say too much negative about Vicky, but I don't know.
I do love the way the women talk about O.C.
Lisa Barlow is like, this looks like teradactal land.
Like if the houses weren't here,
I could just picture like dinosaurs or like something from Ice Age,
just like all in these.
hills and then Teresa's like it reminds me of Jersey and this is another moment where
Vicki's just like horrified she's like my my beloved Orange County we're on the ocean there's
beautiful houses beautiful real estate gated communities reminds you of New Jersey and to be
honest I see Teresa's point it's it's obviously like funny because it's like we're in
California, we're at the beach, but it's like, O.C., somebody said this online, and I, I mean,
I haven't spent time in O.C., but it's like, it's kind of giving like the New Jersey of California,
because it's like, L.A. is right there, and then O.C. is down there, and it's a different vibe,
and there's something for everyone. You know, Kyle says it's much more chill than what happens
in L.A. I'm not sure what I think of Kyle's vibe on this, on this girl's trip,
so far. She's like, it's interesting to see her outside of the context of Beverly Hills because
the last couple seasons on her show, she's been so bogged down in the separation, the fighting
with Derreet, the kind of like, just back and forth of that and just no resolution and nothing. And so
it's fun to see her in a bit of a lighter space. But she also, I think the thing with this
specific group is a lot of the women on this cast are sort of there by default a little bit,
where it's like, oh, we got to pick one person from Osi, it's going to be Vicky.
We got to pick one person from Beverly Hills.
It's going to be Kyle.
I think, you know, a lot of these choices are obvious and for that reason, correct.
Like, you couldn't really pick other people to be on this show.
But they're also just like sometimes not the most.
dynamic to like throw into a group like this. Like Porsche I think is so fun because she's going to be
telling everybody to shake their ass on the boat and calling Kyle a rideaholic and, you know,
she and Jazeel are going to be having a good time and they're going to be, you know,
poking the bear and pointing out other people's, you know, bullshit. But like, I mean, I know we're
not supposed to call Vicky a Debbie Downer, but like somebody else said it, not me. And I don't know.
I think it's going to be a little bit of a wait and see to see like what the overall vibe is.
But at the Bunko party, there were not as many like special guest appearances as I expected.
It was just Tamara, Shannon, the Dubros, and then Gina Keo and Joe De La Rosa to represent the original cast.
I'm like, where's Lori?
Where's, where's Megan King?
Alexis Bellino.
She could have come back for one episode.
I don't want her on O.C.
but, you know, it did feel like, oh, like, how many, were Gina and Emily not invited to this?
I just assumed that it would kind of be like, come one, come all.
If you've ever held an orange, we're going to be at The Quiet Woman.
And on this date, and we'll give you a microphone.
And you can kind of get a little bit of that old glory back.
No, but it was a small group.
They played bunco.
That was very loud.
But this, as we know, happened right before they started filming for the season of OC,
that we're watching right now.
So things are a little awkward.
We knew Vicky was getting her orange back,
but Tamara and Shannon right away have this tension between them.
And obviously we get through, you know,
Vicki's weird speech about Slade
and how she has a literal shrine to him and Gretchen,
but also like fuck him and Gretchen
because that's why she got her work done.
Tamara's giving her a toast and is like,
Vicki, you don't need plastic surgery.
And it's like, I mean, the deed is done.
But the tension between Shannon and Tamara is very palpable.
And as they, you know, they're sitting down at the, the bunco table.
And Jaselle, straight to the point, Bryant, is just like, so do you two hate each other?
It's very like, Alice and Janie and I, Tanya, and she's like, so, you two fuck yet?
Like, that's the energy, Jazeel is bringing to the girls' trip.
And Tamara's like, well, you know, I tried last season.
So that's, that's all I got.
And Shannon's like, well, I, Tamara, I was all season.
I, I forget, I filmed with you and I was trying.
What more can I do?
And so it's just like, okay, so they say they don't hate each other, but clearly
they're going to do.
Shannon leaves the table.
It says Tamara's delusional.
And Tamara's like, I'm delusional, you're.
And then she does the universal motion.
for like alcoholic, the like, glug, glug, glug.
And that's, you know, what we've been discussing on OC so far this season is that
Shannon doesn't like that Tamara's calling her a drunk in front of everybody.
It's a mess.
Whatever.
Now, the really important thing that happens after this, you know, blow up separation,
whatever is that Jazeel and Tamara end up in the bathroom together.
And they have their mics on, like two hardworking professional housewives.
Thank you for your service.
And Giselle, earlier in the day, has been told by Vicky on the boat that she is nervous about filming season 20 with Tamara because you never know what's going to happen.
And, you know, she lies and you can't trust her, whatever.
And Giselle, she carries that bone like a champion.
And she tells Tamara exactly what Vicki said about her.
And this is what I am most excited by on this first episode of Girls Trip because we need some juice.
We need some zest, some spice for the rest of the season.
And the fact that Giselle is willing to be the bone carrier from Vicky to Tamara to me is A plus work.
And even Tamara acknowledged this.
She was like, Giselle's a professional.
She's a great housewife.
Tamara, of course, goes right to Vicky.
She said, did you say you don't trust me?
Did you say I was telling lies or something?
Because they thought you were good.
And Vicki's like, well, I didn't say that.
I don't, I said that, I don't want to, I'm scared to have conflict with you.
And Tamara's like, I thought we don't have conflict.
She's like, wait out.
Of course, Vicky is pissed at Giselle for getting in her business.
And that is just the way I want her because I'm hoping that the next episode will,
really get the ball rolling
while they're in Beverly Hills.
So let's see. That is episode one
of Ultimate Girls Trip. Every Sunday, we'll be back.
The first part of the Atlanta reunion
feels like it's kind of like setting the scene
for a lot of stuff we have to get to
and we're going to have three parts in which to do it.
Kay Michelle is in the hot seat
for a lot of what's going on
because, to be honest,
since filming the season,
It feels like Kay Michelle has burnt a lot of bridges, made a lot of relationships worse,
kind of behaved in ways that are not conducive to, you know, keeping things moving.
And we really break this down over the course of the episode because, you know,
she has issues with Drew.
She has issues with Portia.
She has issues with Shamiya.
It seems like that we're going to get into more next episode.
but a big thing is Portia talking about during the season how Kay Michelle has been online
saying crazy things.
She's impressed.
She's talking bad about her.
And Porsche breaks out her impression of Kay Michelle, which is just, I'm not going to do it,
but it's hilarious.
And basically saying that she's switching up where like when Porsche reaches out to her,
they can have a conversation, the tone is different.
And then it's right back to Twitter.
It's right back to doing interviews.
where she's, you know, calling her out and saying crazy things. And Andy, I think, is a good person to kind of, like,
moderate this to where it's like, okay, so if you want to be in this group and if you want to have
relationships with these women, because K. Michelle is saying, I came on this show. I wanted to blah, blah,
blah, blah. And that it didn't, you know, it didn't work out and all of this. It's like, you have to
actually continue that thread.
And you have to be the one that is willing to stop it with the Twitter, to stop it with
the posting on threads.
And Kay Michelle, you know, they show tweets of hers going back to like 2016.
And Andy tells her, you know, it seems like you're really sensitive and like you've been
hurt in the past, whatever.
And I liked Kay Michelle mostly on this.
season. And I actually think there's potential for this reunion to be a sort of positive turning
point in how she handles her business within the group. We'll see kind of what happens with
Shamiya in the next part. But Portia pointed out that she felt like K-Michel stopped getting
to know her once she started getting closer with Shemia and Kelly. And that that's not Portia's
fault. But yeah, I mean, there's a lot going on. It's like, you know, Kay Michelle's annoyed that
Portia didn't tell her she was hanging out with her ex. Nosh. Nash. Whatever. Fadra also dated
Portia's old guy Mike in the past. It's a lot of just like, whatever. Kelly's, you know,
yelling at Portia about being in Simon's house. And it's like, I just, Kelly. Kelly.
is really tough to me.
Because she has so much smoke for Portia.
She has so much smoke for Drew and Angela.
And it just feels like maybe we'll get more of this in the next couple parts.
I just feel like Kelly has not given us any kind of realness about her life, her situation,
her finances.
I don't need to see her tax returns,
but it just is like, right now,
every single thing that Kelly is bringing to the table
feels like bluster.
Like it feels like she is working so hard
to put on a performance of being unbothered.
She's putting on this performance of, you know,
Angela's finances are a mess
because she can't sell a house, but like, truly, like, where is your house?
She's talking about Porsche paying Simon's bills, and it's like, what about your own bills?
It just isn't, to me, that can't possibly land, that type of attack on other people,
when there are such clear and present dangers in your own situation.
like what's going on truly.
I don't know.
I mean, I still think it was funny that Drew went to that restaurant
and filmed the lockbox on the door
because it's like the restaurant closed
that we just saw grand open on the show.
I don't know.
I also, I would love for Drop It with Drew
to come back and have a resurgence next season.
That was always, to me,
one of the funniest, silliest storylines
and people always will drag housewives for having like business ventures or, you know,
projects that they're working on that are like just for the show.
I got to say, I don't mind.
If it's entertaining to watch, think about on Potomac when Robin Dixon had the photo shoot for the embellished hats,
that was a good storyline.
Think about, you know, all the, all the things that Larsa Pippen has.
has put out over the years, we were fighting at a party on the beach for a thousand dollar dog
collars. Did we ever hear about them again? Of course not. That to me is something that is like,
if you really hate watching, like if it bothers you when housewives are kind of coming up with
random bullshit to do for a season, fine, to each their own. To me, I'm kind of like,
this is the whole point. This is what I, this is what I love.
this is what I thrive on.
You've never talked about doing music before and suddenly you're making an album.
Please.
Bring me into the studio with you.
Let us experience the floppery.
That is something that to me is a core part of Housewives lore and I am not mad about it.
That I think is kind of, you know, there's so much stuff at the beginning with this, you know, relationship with Black and Kay Michelle and,
there's a lawsuit against him and Kay says that he's known for taking advantage of black women.
And then apparently she did a brand deal with the woman who's suing him and she's saying he lives in Thailand.
Drew, okay, I love, I really enjoy Drew.
I've been giving her a lot of praise.
The clapboard and the cut it out.
Corny.
I don't.
The reunion props.
You know, we heard Porsche talk on Girlstrip about Kenya with the megaphone.
nobody's ever, nobody's ever top in that.
And it's a little, it comes across a little tryhard, I got to say.
Speaking of reunions, though, switching over to the Valley, part two, part two of three,
a lot more to get into.
I will do more of a full Valley reunion wrap up next week when they are fully done.
But I just want to talk a little bit this week about what is going on.
with Kristen and Luke.
And Danny and Nia, I guess.
A lot going on.
A lot.
The stuff about him sleeping on the couch and she's triggered because she couldn't do anything
when she was pregnant.
Like that is kind of more of a normal.
Like that to me is not the biggest red flag.
I did think it was hilarious when Kristen said that she had never,
she wasn't familiar with rage before the,
for the past year.
And Andy,
Andy's just like,
wait,
I got a,
I got a,
I got a cut in here.
You,
Kristen Doty,
are saying that rage
is not an emotion
that you were familiar with.
And she's like,
well,
no, no,
like,
um,
like postpartum rage.
It's like,
okay,
whatever.
I won't ask too many questions.
Um,
but still,
still,
still,
the way that Luke is speaking,
is just so off-putting to me.
The things that he is saying
and the lack of understanding
of the way that he is coming across
both to his partner
and to the people in the group
and on television
is just shocking to me.
He says that he threw away 90% of his life
through a way.
Through away to me is like
a sort of aggressive
phrasing because it doesn't just sound like, oh, I made life changes.
I made, you know, choices.
I chose to prioritize.
No, you're like, I threw my old life in the garbage so I could have a baby with
Christen.
And he's like, I did all that.
And then I was getting feedback that I wasn't doing anything right.
And so that made me feel lonely and estranged.
And Kristen is like, resentful.
And he's like, yeah, well, the resent came from.
having an expectation that all of the sacrifices would make the situation would make things better.
And again, it feels like he is really deeply ingrained in this mindset of like,
I did what you asked me to, so why are you still being a bitch?
I canceled my fishing trip with my dad.
Why aren't you having sex with me?
that is to me the direct kind of like subtext to how he is speaking and I think that he doesn't realize that that is the way that he's coming across or I mean I guess the alternative is that he realizes and doesn't care which just feels even worse but Andy asks if they're still in couples therapy and Kristen says that they're they're they're
not ready for it because apparently if you get too volatile in couples therapy, that's a sign
that you actually aren't ready for couples therapy because you should be using couples therapy
to work through your problems and make progress, whereas they're still in the phase where they
just fight and that just fighting in front of it. I mean, man, I have not been
into couples therapy. I have not had a baby with someone. This just feels so depressing to me.
Because at a certain point, it's like, what are you fighting for? And this comes up later in the
episode where Andy brings up this recent situation with Watch What Happens Live, where Kristen and
Luke were invited to come and watch what happens live together. And there, uh, it sounds like
their nanny was traveling. So she wasn't available for the time frame of this. And that Luke
didn't want to come to New York for Watch What Happens Live with Kristen if they had to bring
Kaya with them. Because Kristen's like, say what you said. You said that you wanted to go to dinner.
and you wanted to have a fun time in New York, which like normal desires to be able to go to dinner
in a city with some of the best food in the world, but that clearly the way that he was framing it
was like, well, if we can't leave the baby at home, then why the fuck would I want to do this?
And that's really like, I'm assuming that behind closed doors, that's kind of like the way that
this went down. And he's, I mean, he's like, oh, it would have been flipping her three time zones
and messing up the sleep cycle.
And it's like, yeah, yes, yeah, yeah, that's not ideal.
But when you're talking to your fiancé, the mother of your child,
who has been going through a lot the last year,
and you have the opportunity to do this together,
and you're like, well, no, I don't want to do it if we have to bring the baby.
It's not what she's going to love to hear.
And again, it just is, it's going back to this, you know,
Andy's asking if he would have proposed to her now after they had the baby and he does not have an
answer, can't even come up with something to say. And the women on the couch are literally like,
say yes. Wrong yet? Come on. They're like urging him to answer one question correctly. And all of this
stuff, you know, going through is just going back to me to that question about the couples
therapy where it's like if you have been in this place for now, I think they had the baby like a year
ago, what are you fighting for other than I feel like that because we have a child, we're supposed
to be together? Because Kristen says, you know, Luke is like, oh, well, with the watch what happens
live thing, you kind of like, you know, you played it off like it wasn't a big deal. So I didn't think it was
a big deal. And she was like, well, yeah, I do that a lot because we have a kid.
because I have to be good for her.
If you are thinking that all the time,
then maybe what would be good for her is for mommy and daddy to not be together.
You know?
I don't want to tell anyone else how to live their life,
but it's just like watching from the outside,
it don't seem like anyone's having fun.
And maybe Baby Kaya right now is little enough that it's not,
directly impacting her.
All my, you know, child psychologist, listeners weigh in in the comments about maybe it does
impact her more than we know.
You know, you're playing Einstein for a baby in the womb and they're learning things.
Baby Kaya has been around for a year watching Mommy and Daddy fight.
But either way, it's like I think somebody like Lala is a great example.
of if Lala and Randall had found a way to stay together,
that would not be a better situation for Ocean.
Right now, Lala's best case scenario would be Randall rotting behind bars.
That was crazy.
When Andy asks her about their co-parenting,
and she's like, well, we only communicate through the app,
and Randall's mostly in Miami, so he comes in town.
He, like, bops in every once in a while,
and Ocean thinks he's the best,
which is just like perfect for me
because I don't have to like deal with it
on a day to day basis
but she's like the only,
I wish he was further away in a place he couldn't get out of
and she just says in due time.
And I'm literally picturing Lala
like on the phone day after day
calling in like to whatever like feds tip hotline.
I mean like so there's this man Randall Emmett
I'm sure he's doing something illegal.
Fraud, fraud, fraud, fraud, fraud, fraud, arrest him.
Like Lala wants that.
Batman under the jail. But like, I think that that is kind of a, just an indication of like,
mommy and daddy being together isn't always the ideal scenario. And that may, that might be
hard to initially accept, but like, I promise. I promise. Sometimes it's the right thing.
whatever. That's enough of my relationship advice corner. There are other podcasts if that's
what you are looking for. But toward the end of the part two, we really start to dig in more to
the Janet versus Danny and Nia stuff talking about what happened in San Diego and all the, you know,
the bad moments that they had this season. And Nia is saying that they were doing really
intense couples therapy. So sometimes like the the bad moments were just like things
popping out from that. And it's like, okay. And Andy, I appreciate Andy kind of like, I think
setting the tone here where he's like, okay, I get that you guys are, you know,
working through whatever, have, you know, couples there. Whatever, whatever you're working on.
Sure. Some of these moments, though, Danny, you just come on.
off like a dick. And that is, I don't know what couples therapy regimen you're on where it's like,
look, sometimes the therapy is just, the therapy tools are working through you in a way that
you just are an absolute asshole to your wife. And that is just the process at work. And you just
have to trust the process. What are we doing? What's, what's going? No, I'm sorry.
No. And Lala is like watching it back. It seemed like Nia was completely alone. And I wanted to reach through the TV and deck him. And Nia's like rehearsed answer about Daniel being the most involved father. And, you know, I don't even like to put the kids down for a nap. Like he's the one that does nap time and all of that. And it's like, oh my God. We just are, we're never going to make.
progress with Danny and Nia.
I don't think.
I think they are too ingrained in the cycle that they have of this is the way it is.
You know, Jasmine is like, people have been blaming their shitty behavior on having kids all
season.
First of all, it's weird.
And second of all, you're making me not want to have kids.
Amen, sister.
By the way, I love that Zach is like being real about his questions.
about whether he wants to have a child with with Benji or at all.
Because to me, like, I think so many people who are in a position like that,
when you have a partner who really feel strongly in one direction,
when you are in a life phase where other people are doing it,
it would be so easy to just say, well, yeah, of course,
of course we'll have a kid together.
And, like, I think it's so real and, like, good that Zach is, like,
actually taking the time to figure out how he feels about that and not just sort of giving the easy
yes because it's like yeah you shouldn't have a kid unless you absolutely want to and I think a lot of
people just do it because they feel like it's you know the right time or whatever and I would just say
more power to to Zach and also I love that he's wearing the ice out pin I didn't notice that
last week, but respect.
But yeah, no, I mean, we finish off with the Danny and San Diego stuff.
Kristen says she was horrified watching it back.
That's nice.
And Lala, this is where we're getting into the Danny drinking stuff.
Because Lala is like, look, I get why you were confused all season because people were saying,
oh, we don't care about your drinking, you can drink as much as you want, but then also
being uncomfortable.
And it's like, yeah, like, saying,
that you should be able to enjoy yourself is a different thing than like, oh yeah, get totally
plastered. No, no worries about that at all. And that I feel like there was a little bit of
mixed messages about how people really felt. People were giving him sometimes the answer that they
kind of felt like they were supposed to say in the moment. And we end the episode on a bit of a
cliffhanger because Danny says that since they wrapped filming for the season, like eight months ago or
whatever, he has not been that intoxicated a single time. And immediately, there are murmurs,
chatter, whispers around the group about something happened at Jasmine's wedding. And we will get
into that next week. I was going to talk about next gen, NYC. Honestly, it's like a, the main thing
about this episode that is, um, that is like entertaining and interesting is just kind of like
following them through the weekend of BravoCon.
I loved that they made that.
So on the first night of BravoCon,
they have the bravos and they win their award and yeah,
yeah,
yeah. And Ariana says on a panel that she wouldn't touch Charlie with a 10-foot pole.
And then they were hanging out in Charlie's room,
everybody until 5 a.m.
And then Shai asked Eva to come have a nightcap.
And then he tried to kiss her.
And she said,
no and I just like shy shy is really flailing and I think he's a little cutie but I also am like
you have to get it together your business what's happening with that your your your Ava situation
what's happening with that oh it pains me to watch um but I love after the second night of
BravoCon, they send them all off on like different little side quests. And as someone who's been to
Vegas a handful of times, I just thought it was really funny to see like, okay, like, what have they
arranged? And we start with Ava and Georgia alone on the high roller observation wheel, which I,
I went on the high roller wheel when I was there for the Vanderpump Hotel in June. And it's cool.
I mean, it's like a big-ass Ferris wheel,
but you're in this like enclosed pod.
It's like similar to the London Eye kind of vibe
where it's not like, it's like an open,
it's like a room that you're shut in for like 30 minutes or something.
And they're just standing in there alone.
I just felt the awkwardness as they were talking there.
Meanwhile, Gia and Christian are having dinner at the like random ass Italian restaurant
in the Paris Hotel, which is like not a chic spot.
So that was funny to me.
And Gia is like, so what do you think about being on camera?
He's like, we've had this conversation 50 million times.
I don't know what to say to you.
Charlie and Shire just talking in the room.
And then Amira, Riley, and Ariana are at Top Golf.
Why?
Couldn't tell you.
I just like the vagus of it all to me is very fun to watch.
Because if you've been there, it's easy to sort of like map out where things are happening.
in a way that I always find really entertaining.
But the big red flag that I am just not loving
is that it seems like something's going on
with Ariana and Charlie.
And oh, get out of there.
Wee-wee-wee-you, like, no.
We were doing so good.
Liam is back in New York, like just waiting to hear from you.
Hudson is still being thirsty.
But, oh, at dinner, so they go to dinner the last night of BravoCon after they've had their panel,
where Shy pisses off Brooks again, annoying.
But Ava, you know, Ava brings up Charlie and Shy talking to her.
They're having this whole back and forth.
Brooks is bitching at Shy about his response to the panel.
And I'm like, first of all, Brooks, grow up.
You're two seasons into a reality TV show.
somebody said something about you.
That's the point.
That's why we're here.
Meanwhile, all of this is happening, and Ariana and Charlie are like sitting at the end of the table, giggling to each other, and he's using her chapstick.
And it really feels like the vibe has shifted.
And then they fly home, and Ariana gives up her first class seat to sit next to Charlie in coach.
this is bone-chilling.
What is happening?
You're, it's like a, that's like a five-hour flight.
Amira's like, babe, we upgraded so we could lie flat.
And you are upright.
That is not the dream.
And I just, it's like, if you want to, if you want to fuck Charlie, do it.
Sure.
Well, don't.
But like, I guess, it's a free country.
Her body, her choice.
at least sit in the fancy plane seat.
A million girls would kill for that seat.
I would have loved to be in a lie flat on my way home from BravoCon.
Maybe next year.
Maybe I'll...
Delta, hit me up.
No, I just...
I don't like it.
I don't like it.
And then we get back to New York.
Charlie's in the confessional.
Talking about Ariana.
And he's like, well, yeah, you know, I just don't want to...
you know, I don't want, I want to protect whatever.
And he's like, word salad saying a whole lot of nothing.
And the producer is like, what are you trying to protect?
Like, what's going on?
And his response is, if I had fucked Ariana yesterday, I wouldn't be telling you right now.
Get it away from me.
I don't want to, I don't want to see it.
I don't want to think about it.
Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, yucky.
I just like, why are we doing this?
What's going on?
We have, I think, like, four episodes of next.
Gen left this season plus the reunion.
I feel like it's going to be a messy time down the stretch.
And I am excited but scared.
But we're going to do it together.
But in the meantime, make sure you subscribe, make sure you are following.
Gina on the show next week.
Amira was on earlier this week if you want to go catch up.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
And until next time, be cool.
Don't be all like uncool.
Betches.
Thank you.
