Betches Media presents.
Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With me, Dylan Hafer.
We're going to check me, though.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention It All podcast.
We have made it to the end of another week.
And we have really almost made it to the end of another year.
As I look around, it is suddenly December.
We only have a couple weeks left in the year, at least in the recording year for this
podcast, and we are just barreling toward the finish.
Today, we are going to talk about the Southern Charm season 10 premiere.
We have made it 10 seasons with these sickos, and they have still got me on the hook,
and I'm excited to dive into it.
Before we get there, I'm recording this a little bit early, because as you will be listening
to this, I will be in sunny, hopefully knock on wood, Las Vegas, Nevada, celebrating another
Lisa Vanderpump occasion.
I can't wait to be back next week.
and share with you everything that's going on and also dive into the recent episodes of
Real Houseways of Beverly Hills, Real Houseways of Salt Lake City,
uh,
real Houseways of New York City,
if I get really bored and desperate for something to talk about,
I want to talk about sold on SLC.
We're going to be back into Potomac.
We're going to be back into married to medicine.
I'm looking around and usually at the end of the year,
I feel like there's a little bit of a moment where I'm like,
okay, like we have some, some kind of like extra.
episodes happening. We should do, we'll do some sort of wrap up, we'll do some sort of roundup,
like some kind of bonus content, some evergreen stuff, some, I mean, I would never want to say
anything that we do is filler content. But, you know, sometimes you just have to like,
you have to pad a little bit. The schedule right now does not need to be padded out. In fact,
it is, it's a little overstuffed. And so I'm glad to have this kind of moment in time to talk about
the Southern Charm season premiere, because I think there's a lot to get to there.
I also want to shout out this week.
Spotify Rapped for 2024 dropped.
Thank you so much to everyone who's listened this year.
If I'm one of your top podcasts, if I'm not, if you're listening to other Betches' podcasts,
if you're listening to other, you know, Bravo podcasts that our friends are on, it's just so
great to see this community and this real passion that we've all built together for Bravo.
and for the real housewives and for the charmers and the servers and the pumpers and the
this, that, and the other, the hospitalityers? Do they have a name? The Republicans?
Oof, that's not right. We're not thankful for the Republicans, but we're thankful for all the
Bravo Lebs and for all the listeners and for everybody who has shown us love this year.
And it's been, it's been a great one. I hope a lot of you had a
chance to listen to my interview with Heather Gay earlier this week. She has been on the show now
what, four or five times, but this was about her new book that came out this week,
Good Time Girl. I read it, cover to cover. I had a good time with it. I've read both of her books.
And I said this on the episode with Heather, but I really do mean it. I think she does a good job
of balancing the housewife stuff that people already want to hear about and kind of just
genuinely interesting stories from her life. I mean, not everybody has enough to write about
for two books. Not everybody has the ability to write two books, but I've really enjoyed both of
Heather's books, and if you don't like her, that's fine, but I got to just, you know, give her a little
shout out. And I do think it was a good conversation, so I'd recommend going to listen to that.
I think Salt Lake City has filmed their reunion now as you will be listening to this. So I, God,
I can't wait to just kind of like keep watching their season unfold, because I feel like they're on
such a kind of permanent high at this point.
impressive stuff. I've been watching a lot of Bravo, obviously, but also catching up on some other
TV shows from from outside of the Bravoverse. And I just, I don't know, this is, this is like a
weird tangential connection to reality TV, but I've been getting my feet wet with this new show,
Landman, Landman, I don't know if it's Landman or Landman, you know, like, like Seaman, Landman.
It's on Paramount Plus. It's created by Taylor Sheridan, who is, of course, the creator of Yellowstone and Lioness, which I also watch because of Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldanea almost exclusively. I don't know what's happening with like the men on that show. That's not really what I'm here for. But he has all of these shows on Paramount Plus. And I don't watch Yellowstone. I would not say I'm the target demographic. But I started watching Landman because I'm like, okay, this cast is a little spicy.
So Billy Bob Thornton is the main guy, and then John Hamm is on it. And then Billy Bob's
ex-wife on the show is Allie Larder. I never watched Heroes, but I always wanted to, so I feel
like connected to her. And then John Hamm's wife is Demi Moore, who's having such a moment right now
because of substance and she was on feud earlier this year. Fun times. Who else is on this show?
I think Andy Garcia might be on it. He hasn't like showed up yet. I might be an episode behind.
I don't know why I'm talking about this, but actually I do.
because you guys, there is something so unhinged happening on this show.
And so it takes place in a rural part of Texas where there are oil fields.
And Billy Bob Thornton is, I guess, what they call a landman.
So he's not the one that owns the oil company, but he's the one that kind of like works the land.
Like he oversees the people who are going out and like doing the work on a day-to-day basis
while like the owner guy lives in like a mansion in Dallas.
But the character I want to talk about on this show is Billy Bob Thornton and Allie Larder's daughter, who is supposed to be 17 years old.
Now, she is played by, and this is the part that I want to talk about, Michelle Randolph, who is Cassie Randolph's sister.
And if you're asking, who's Cassie Randolph?
Cassie Randolph was on The Bachelor.
Cassie Randolph won the Bachelor, and who did she win?
whose hand in marriage did she claim at the end of the season of The Bachelor? Colton Underwood.
That's right. Gay guy, famous gay guy, Colton Underwood, who, if you recall, he's the one who, like, put a tracker on Cassie's car, and there was, like, some real shady shit happening when they were still in a relationship. So then they broke up, and I think she had a restraining order, allegedly. And then he came out. That's a whole other can of worms. But so Cassie's sister Michelle, who looks like Cassie,
but also does not look 17 is on this show.
And it is so wild because her entire plotline on the show is that she comes to stay with her dad who lives in this like oil house with other men.
And she's 17.
And every single man on the show just like openly wants to fuck her.
Like full googly eyes when she walks in the room.
She's like sitting outside the house in a bikini.
And there's like a 50 year old man just fully being like.
well, I guess I can't do the work when I can see her out the window, so I'm going to have
to go in the other room. And like, Billy Bob Thornton just like knows about this. Like, he just like,
it's like an established fact in this world that this like high school senior girl just makes like
every 15 to 50 year old man just go full like, a rooga. I don't know if anybody else is
watching this. I don't know if anybody else even gives a shit about this. I probably will never
talk about it again. But I just like, I need to share. This has been on my heart. I've also
been watching Survivor this season. It's the first time I've watched Survivor in a little while.
I'm recording this on Tuesday night, so I haven't seen this week's episode. We're getting,
we're getting down to the wire here. But there is a woman on this season of Survivor. And I won't
like spoil Survivor, but she's made it pretty, whatever. She's on the season. Her name is Sue.
And Sue is an icon because Sue has come up with this plot early in the season that she is going to lie about her age.
And I think that this is so brilliant because she is telling everyone that she is 45.
She is 58.
And look, I don't want to age shame.
I don't want to call anyone old.
You know, we're all on TikTok right now talking about how good Lindsay Lowen's work is.
And if you have that deep plain facelift money, go for it.
Sue on Survivor, she don't look 45.
And there are like multiple moments throughout the season of when we see her tell various people that she's 45.
And they're like, oh, oh.
In fact, there's another man on the cast that is 45.
And she's joking with him.
She's like, man, she's like, we look pretty good for 45.
And he's like, uh-huh.
Oh, my God.
It's like iconic.
I really think in another life she could be a housewife.
I think she's from like upstate New York, so I don't know about that.
But she is just like so funny to me.
She's kind of giving like Vicki Gunvelson mixed with Tamara Judge.
Like that's kind of the visual if you haven't watched Survivor this season.
But I just want to, I just want to give a shout out to this diva because she's,
She's really doing the Lord's work.
So good, so good, so good.

Let's talk about Southern Charm, because we don't have that long.
And I want to talk about Southern Charm because this season, speaking of people,
people who are on competition reality shows. We have a new woman in the mix on Southern Charm this
season, and her name is Molly. And we find out, through our introduction to her, through Madison,
that she is a model. And she knows Madison from years in the past when they were working together
on photo shoots, and Madison was doing her hair. And that's great. That's all well and good.
but we find out that Ms. Molly O'Connell was on America's Next Top Model.
Now, America's Next Top Model, Iconic show.
Iconic.
There are so many moments.
There are so many unhinged things that have happened on America's Next Top Model.
So immediately I'm looking up.
I'm like, okay, I don't recognize her, but like, you know, there were like hundreds of women on America's Next Top Model.
I look, so she was on Cycle 16, which aired in 2011, which I got to be honest.
that was after I gave up on top model.
Like the years that I really was paying the most attention
were like cycle seven, eight, nine, ten,
like when Carrie D won, when Jesseline won,
when Salisha won, when Kimberly won.
Even going all the way back, I mean, Eva, Eva Marcelle,
she won America's Next Top Model,
Joanna, who won America's Next Top Model.
one of the girlies that won one of the early seasons, I think is on that show,
Chicago Med, like the NBC show that's been on for like 10 seasons.
I don't consider cycle 16, yeah, yeah, DeCosta, quick Google.
I don't really consider cycle 16 of America's Next Top Model to be like in the canon,
but maybe that's an unpopular opinion.
She did come in second place, though.
So Molly had a good run on America's Next Top Model.
Now, I do have to laugh a little bit because
I'm looking at the like official Bravo cast bios and the wording they use is she catapulted to success by appearing on America's next top model.
Now, I don't know if there's like a technical measurement of what a catapult to success could be defined as.
I would not necessarily say that people who were appearing on later seasons of America's next top model were necessarily had to success.
But I'm going to put some respect on her modeling career.
I mean, she clearly has worked as a model.
She talks in the premiere about how she's, I think she says she has a thyroid issue, which causes her weight to fluctuate, which really can be detrimental because the way the fashion industry is, like gaining weight is just so.
taboo. And I think that that's, that's an interesting thing that she shares right away. And so I'm,
I have my eye on Molly. Like, I'm, I'm intrigued by her so far. Now, the thing, the thing that really,
aside from the next top model stuff, the thing that I want to get to the bottom of is,
why the fuck can't this stunning woman get a normal ass man to date her? And maybe she can't,
Maybe she doesn't want to.
But she tells us that in the past, she has sexted and exchanged, like, naughty videos with Craig, which, like, okay, whatever.
You know, haven't we all?
Who among us?
Who among us has not?
But currently, that's in the past.
They never met.
They never hooked up.
Currently, she has a little thing going on with Whitney.
Now, no shade to Whitney, I guess, but like, Molly, Molly, can you come see me over here?
Molly, what are we doing?
Why are we doing?
Why?
What's going on here?
Whitney Suddler-Smith, and again, not to age shame, sue on Survivor.
It's working for her, I guess.
Whitney's 56.
I looked this up.
He was born in the 60s.
And there's nothing wrong with being born in the 60s.
But Ms. Molly O'Connell, she wasn't born in the 60s.
She doesn't look like she was born in the 60s.
Like, and she's saying they've been hanging out.
They've been, you know, whatever.
She cooked him.
She cooked him lamb shanks, which like, you know, I'd be down on one knee.
And she's talking to Madison.
And she's like, yeah, I just don't know.
I don't know if he's ready to settle down.
So I can't figure it out.
And I'm like, the red flag is the whole sky.
The entire sky is billowing red.
Get out of there.
And it is so wild.
We have been watching this show for 10 years.
Remember, Whitney was in his 40s when this show premiered.
And we're still out here being like,
I just don't know if he's ready.
to settle down.
What do we have to do?
Like, truly, like, I want the best for Molly.
I've known this girl for five minutes on TV.
And I'm like, literally, it just came to me.
Whoopi Goldberg and Ghost, Molly, you in danger, girl.
Her name is literally Molly.
It couldn't be more perfect.
The Giff just hit me like a lightning bolt.
But that's Molly.
I'm looking forward to getting to know her more.
Whatever.
Girl, Whitney, please.
You can find better.
No, like Molly, you can find better than Whitney.
That's, please, don't come in my DMs.
I mean, like, Whitney can't find better.
There are also, there are two other new people on this season who we don't meet in the premiere.
Sally, who I believe was on The Bachelor.
Okay, like Cassie Randolph T.
And then there's a guy named Ryan.
We don't, I don't think we see him in the premiere.
So more to come on the newbies on Southern Charm.
Jury's out.
seems fun. I feel like Madison kind of needs a friend. I know that she has like a weird,
you know, frenemieship with Vanita and she and love are sometimes good. But like,
I feel like Madison doesn't really have like a bestie. And, you know, Olivia's gone this season.
I do miss Olivia. That was always a weird one to me. I'm like, I feel like,
I feel like we haven't seen the last of Olivia flowers. That's what I have to say on that.
And it was really interesting after last season.
And I don't pay a ton of attention to this cast when they are off the air.
Like that is something where I feel like I sort of divest from them for eight months out of the year.
And I'm fine with that.
Like I was surprised to learn in the premiere that Taylor has a boyfriend named Gaston.
Okay, Beauty and the Beast.
Where are we?
Gaston.
No.
drinks like Gaston.
No one.
No one plays with chef's feelings and things like Gaston.
Like, okay.
So that's new.
Austin has a girlfriend named Audrey, who he's FaceTiming with.
She lives in Charlotte.
They met last summer.
They've been dating for three months.
And that's already going to be a mess, you can tell.
Because later in the episode.
So J.T. and Austin have this lingering issue from last season.
You remember at the reunion, J.T. really thought he was going to have a moment.
and so he said he was going to perform a fuck boy exorcism on Austin, which like, okay, like,
okay, sir. JT., who got in an ATV accident in Costa Rica and is walking around with a cane that looks
like it was plucked out of a Charles Dickens novel. Like, that is not something that a doctor's
office is giving you. That is not something that they're prescribing for you at urgent.
care. That's not something you can even buy at a store, or at least not at like a, not at a store with like a, you know, indoor plumbing and electricity.
He's carrying like a whittled, a whittled like candy cane-shaped piece of wood with a pointy, like a pointy stick.
And I'm just like, what are we doing here? What are we doing here? But J.T. still feels like he has this issue with Austin.
and then, you know, when they're on the party bus,
the whole premiere episode is leading up to this event,
the Carolina Cup, where everybody's going to go and it's, you know,
it's kind of like the Kentucky Derby,
except they're literally just hanging out in like a dirt parking lot.
I'm like, the Kentucky Derby is like a nationally televised event
where you're at this like, boogey-ass venue.
It looks like they have pulled up to any dirt clearing in America.
No, I don't want to shit on the Carolina Cup because I'm sure it's lovely.
But it's just funny to me when they're like,
oh my God, I have to find the cutest outfit in America.
And then they pull up and it's literally just like a picnic table in a parking lot
that's not even paved.
South Carolina's crazy, man.
I don't know about that.
But J.T., he like arranges a party bus on the way there,
but not everybody's on the party bus because Shep and Austin and Craig are staying at Shep's
parents' house, which we'll get to.
But then on the bus, you know, they're talking about, you know, Austin's new woman and this
girl, Audrey, that he's been seeing.
And J.T. is like, well, I think they've been together since last summer.
And Leva and Vanita, look, Leva and Vanita, I feel like are, occupy such an interesting position
on this show because they have been around for a few years now.
Like, they've been on this show for seasons.
And they still kind of occupy this place where,
It doesn't feel like they're ever quite central to what's going on,
but I have really grown to value and appreciate their commentary on everything
because it feels like fundamentally their heads are just screwed on a little straighter
than most of the other people in the group.
And so sometimes you need that person who like can look with a little bit of like an actual,
like, sense of the world and foot on the ground in reality.
And when JT's like, oh, I think he's been with Audrey since last summer.
And Vanita and Lava, their ears perk up right away.
And they're like, are you sure?
Because I know like, I know like girls on girls on girls who would swear to the fact that they have dated Austin in that time window.
Now, I think it's important to, it's important to mind here that Austin says he's been dating Audrey for three months, though they met last summer.
And he's like, you know, it's not very much like me to make things official. So it's a pretty big thing.
So like, if you ask Austin about this, which I have a feeling they will in, you know, one week's time on as the, as the TV guide flies,
Austin's not going to be like, yeah, we've been in an exclusive relationship since last summer.
He's clearly arrived at his approved timeline of what has happened. And look, do I trust his approved timeline of what has happened?
that it's 100% accurate, 100% forthright and truth-telling?
I don't know that I do, but I do think that, like, JT's version of events is probably no more
accurate in terms of Austin's personal life, because clearly there's a bit of a bone to pick
there.
And he shows up to the Carolina Cup with, like, a stack full of these Charles Dickens-Kains,
and he's, like, passing them out.
And he's like, well, sir, Austin, I am happy to hear you have a girlfriend.
And it's like, okay, thanks.
Like, I'm so glad I have this.
cane to carry around now.
J.T., the vibe is strange.
You know, last season, he was, like, obsessed with Taylor Ann.
I do love...
I literally wrote...
I found myself writing Taylor Ann in my notes just because I think it's, like...
I mean, I don't want to be rude, but I think it's so funny.
I think what I was saying before is, like, I was kind of surprised that Taylor...
Taylor Ann stayed on the show and Olivia didn't, because I felt like Olivia
seemed like so much more of like a...
Taylor...
Taylor has more of like a tragic...
Maybe like a...
You want to watch...
You feel like she's going to be at the center of a saga.
And maybe that's compelling.
Whereas Olivia has a little bit more of that, like, Madison, like, star quality.
But maybe you don't need another Madison.
Maybe that's the issue.
And, you know, Taylor was at the center of that...
Shep and Austin thing last season, that was pretty compelling.
Maybe I'm talking myself into it making sense that Taylor Ann stayed for another season.
But anyway, J.T. was obsessed with her last season, and then that, you know, didn't end up going anywhere.
And so he's wishing the best for her from the friend zone.
He's always rooting for her from the friend zone.
It's funny because he's like, it's pretty awkward that I'm going to see Taylor Ann today after she rejected me.
And Taylor's like, it's not awkward at all.
I just said hi to him.
That's when you know.
Like that is the kind of thing where I could never be on one of these shows because I would make a fool of myself like JT one time.
And then I would see Taylor Ann in the confessional saying that it's not awkward for her at all.
And I would lose it.
Like I would not leave my house for a week.
Because to see somebody be like, oh yeah, like it's the thing of like when you're like, oh, like what do you think of her?
And you're like, I don't think of her.
Like that's the worst answer.
imaginable. And like genuinely, I don't think Taylor Ann, I'm sticking with it now, I don't think
Taylor Ann has ever like lost a wink of sleep over JT. It will be really interesting though to kind of like
track JT's trajectory on this season, knowing that he has made this big declaration of not being on
the show anymore. Like they filmed the whole season. If you, if you missed this a few weeks ago
after the trailer for the season had come out, he posted an announcement that,
he was resigning from Southern Charm.
He said he had a few remaining confessional interviews that he was supposed to film,
that he's not going to.
He is, you know, purportedly not going to the reunion this year.
I know they're having a, they have a premiere party in New York this week that he,
I believe, is not going to be at.
Like, he's fully checked out of the Southern Charm experience.
So it'll be interesting to see kind of like where this season goes for him.
And the thing we get at the end of this episode is that he has a little bit of
thing with Patricia.
Patricia!
Now, we do not get Patricia, like, involved in drama that much on this show.
You know, she'll offer her little commentary, but she's not very, like, in the weeds.
And J.T. makes, like, the most uncomfortable kind of misstep at this Carolina Cup, because,
you know, she and Whitney show up, and Whitney brings a date who looks kind of like, um, she looks
like Dove Cameron, both, like, in looks and in age.
younger than Molly even, which is like, oh, Jesus Christ.
But J.T., like I said, has this pile of canes that he's giving out to people, because I guess
that's funny.
I don't know.
It seems a little bit like making light of disability to me, but whatever.
The bar is on the floor.
But he offers one of these dumb little canes to Miss Patricia.
And you can tell everybody there is like, like, you don't offer this.
80-year-old woman who thankfully doesn't need a cane to walk around.
You don't walk up to her and be like, hey, Miss Pat, here's your cane.
Oh my God.
Like, I was saying that it was mortifying to think of Taylor Ann being like, I don't think of you.
Offending Miss Patricia.
Can you imagine?
I would resign from the show too.
I would cancel the rest of my confessional interviews.
How do you recover from that?
And then at the end of the episode in the like the scenes from the season, there, we flash forward or it's like a flash forward to a dinner that looks very like dinner party from hellish.
And there's debate over whether J.T. called Miss Pat a bitch.
A bitch!
You don't call Miss Patricia a bitch.
What are you doing?
And it's relating back to this incident where I think it's, um,
I think it's Austin or Craig saying that J.T. said that Miss Patricia was a bitch.
Would he give her the cane? Which would be her right? Because she's 80 years old and she doesn't need a fucking cane.
But anyway, JT and Vanita have lovely chemistry. That's Jesus Christ. I said I don't pay much attention to these people when the show's not on.
There's no mention of Vanita's boyfriend that we met last season. I don't know what's up with that.
Because it's not really clear whether JT and Vanita are like dating chemistry.
She says they bonded in Jamaica last season and then since then they talk every day.
And he's like, well, you can't teach chemistry.
It's either there or it's not like, my guy, I don't think it's there.
I'm glad you guys get along well, but like, please.
There's a lot going on in this episode.
I feel like I could yap and yop and yop and yap.

And the view we got at the beginning of the season is Shep, he's like reading a book already just in a towel.
And then he drops the towel and we see his like bare ass getting in the shower.
Like, what are we doing here?
What kind of, this is a family program.
by family, I mean, families are getting ripped apart.
Oh my God.
But the biggest kind of central thing of this episode,
and it seems like of a lot of this season,
is going to be that Shep has had a little bit of a fallout
in his friendship with Austin and Craig.
Now, I am actually really intrigued by this kind of
being a central pull of this season.
Because these three have been on this show for a long time.
I mean, Shep and Craig go all the way back to the beginning.
Austin's been here for years.
And so much of the show has been about their relationships and their situations and their
fuckationships and, you know, the women and the people that they cheated on and the things
they've done wrong.
And yeah, they've had their issues.
between them, but it feels like a little different this year. And I think it, it feels like for the
first time, and I might regret saying this, it feels like they're starting to grow up. And they're
not growing up at the same pace. And I think that's where you're having the issues here, because
they're coming into this. And it's really interesting. So Craig is coming into it. He's been with
Page for a couple of years. There's always breakup rumors, but as far as I know, they're still together.
he has not been drinking.
He is like a businessman.
He owns his business.
They're talking about Shep being blacked out of BravoCon.
And he's like, when Craig is at BravoCon, he's the number one guy in the group of Bravo.
He's shaking hands and kissing babies.
He's out there making schmoney.
Meanwhile, Shep is getting blasted and showing up to the panel looking like he needs to, you know,
go to the sauna for a few hours. And, you know, Shep says this is bullshit. He says he's seen,
you know, Craig in all sorts of compromising positions, which I don't doubt necessarily. But he,
Craig is saying that he's at a point now where that no longer is working for him.
Meanwhile, Shep is kind of from a separate angle claiming to have worked on himself. And this comes
in the form of what he says, I wrote this down because I thought it was kind of hilarious.
This is Shep's explanation of what he did in the off-season.
He says, I went to Costa Rica to this psychedelic retreat for self-realization and examination.
They say it's like three years of therapy in four nights.
Here's the thing.
I hope and I believe that Shep had a great time in Costa Rica.
You know, he was visited by, he was visited by Austin's, you know, late sister on his ayahuasca trip.
that's nice.
He was visited by Taylor,
had a vision of her as a bird while he was on ayahuasca.
Look, that sounds lovely.
It sounds awful, but it sounds lovely.
But I,
another red flag,
Molly, are you listening?
I'm talking about another red flag.
Anytime a man tells you that fill in the blank is like therapy
or is like my form of therapy.
And the thing that they're comparing to therapy isn't therapy.
They need to go to therapy.
And whatever they're comparing it to isn't actually a substitute for therapy.
Now, again, I am sure that chef had a lovely time doing ayahuasca in Costa Rica.
And I hope that it helped him with certain things.
You know, he's, I'm sure he's drinking a lot less.
I'm sure he's, you know, making better decisions.
all the time.
But like,
Shep has issues that I'm not sure
four nights and three days in Costa Rica
are really equipped to handle.
Also,
what are the men of this cast doing in Costa Rica?
Shepp's doing ayahuasca on the beach.
JT's getting in an ATV accident,
falling down a mountain.
No more trips to Costa Rica.
What are we doing?
But, yeah, so Craig and Austin have not
really been close with Shep since BravoCon in the prior reunion. We get so much like,
when we were in Vegas, when we were in New York. I'm like, say the reunion. I love on Beverly
Hills that they're just like, when we were at BravoCon, I'm like, thank you. We all,
we all know. But yeah, there's a lot of hurt there. And I think this is a really interesting
thing to delve into because Shep feels like he didn't get the support from them, that he kind of
was owed after he copped to his, his, you know, rough behavior in Vegas. And
Craig, you know, drops the thing about being a business owner and he can't be associated with
blacked out behavior.
And Craig says, this is important that Shep has had bad nights since the reunion and that
he needs to be in the mindset of like, that I can never do that again, not just like, oh,
I should cut back.
But Shep and Austin have a little bit of a nice moment because, like I said, Shep had a vision
of Austin's sister.
I don't know where we're all going with this, but I'm excited to follow this thread
throughout the season because it feels like something that we have invested a decade in watching
these relationships and we're now at kind of a crossroads. And I think that that is something a lot of
the time with these long running shows and these people that remain on these shows for such a
long time, you do start to wonder kind of like, when are we going to reach the end of this
rainbow? Like what's the, when are we going to kind of exhaust all the possibilities of what we can
do with these game pieces? And that's something I think Vanderpump rules is an interesting.
interesting comparison because we've just seen this full cast jettisoned in favor of younger,
hotter servers.
But like with Southern Charm, it feels like they are still kind of coming up with new combinations
and I, for whatever reason, I'm on board.
And I'm very curious to see kind of where this season goes.
I'm excited to meet the rest of the new people.
I'm excited to see kind of, you know, Madison doesn't have that much to do right now.
it seems like, and she always is going to find some mischief to get into.
But I think this was a good premiere.
And it's good in the sense that, like, it's not the most explosive.
It's not the most shocking.
But there's, like, so much meat on the bones here, I think, which is kind of remarkable
for a show in its 10th season.
And I'm just, it's a full meal.
And after one episode, I feel like I have a lot of things I'm looking forward to and
I can't wait to watch the rest of this season.
And thanks for listening.
And I hope you all have a great weekend.
I'll be back next week to continue our plunge into holiday season.
Don't forget to rate review and follow the show wherever you listen.
Listen to my conversation with Heather Gay from the other day.
And until next time, be cool.
Don't be all like uncool.
