Mention It All
A Bravo by Betches podcast
We don't say that but now we said it
With Dylan Hafer
Who go and check me, boo
And Barry Rosenfeld
I need to start drinking alcohol
Now go to sleep week
Hey everyone
Welcome back to another episode
of the Mention It All podcast
I'm Dylan Hafer
And I'm Barry Rosenfeld
How's it going?
How's your weekend?
It's going great
The birds are chirping
It's like a nice crisp fall day, which is my favorite type of weather.
We have a great episode of Real House Lives of Potomac to talk about.
You know, my weekend was very chill, I would say.
It was nice.
It was relaxing, which is exactly the vibe I feel I need in these crazy times.
Right.
I feel like at this point, I am so over-relaxed that like I need to do something, some form of activity.
because like I haven't in seven months
and you know
I hate when we talk like we're talking like
I'm trying to do what like the housewives
and what we've seen on the other shows do
where we're not the only people
that were affected by Corona
you know how they make it seem like
they're the only ones that couldn't get to our people
like we've talked about this.
Okay I just want to make that clear.
I'm like oh I am so bored.
Everybody is.
Barry, do you know that over the weekend
I couldn't go to a club?
What am I supposed to do?
Well,
speaking.
Poil and paper.
Literally.
I'm dreading when we get to that point on Orange County where they're like
freaking out about the pandemic because it's like,
first of all,
I don't really want to.
Can we not talk about Orange County on the times that we don't have to?
I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know.
But it's like I,
not only do I not really want to relive it in general,
but also like those people reliving it.
I'm like, this is going to be.
I know.
And experience.
I am so glad, though, that we have Potomac to talk about,
which has nothing.
to do with the pandemic filmed last fall,
which is evidenced by the fact that Robin showed up
last night wearing the same dress that Erica and Rino wore,
which is funny because at first people were like,
Robin copied them.
And it's like, no, they were filming at the same time.
Right.
I think that is beyond weird how that many people bought the same piece.
Also, it's not even like the craziest piece of fashion
I have ever seen.
It is literally a pink suit.
I feel like it makes sense, though, because it's kind of like, it's like a statement piece,
but also I feel like it would be flattering to a lot of people.
It's, I actually really like it.
I think it's fun.
It's like a random thing for three different people to wear.
Me too, but you know it's a piece I would never wear personally,
because that's a little too colorful for me.
I was just going to say, you wouldn't wear hot pink in general.
You know me too well.
But before we get to that sip and see, we have to talk about a bunch of other stuff that happened.
First of all, we see Wendy and Eddie getting ready for the sip and see talking about it.
And we get a little more insight into Eddie's issues with his family.
Namely that, so we knew already that his mom was not a big fan of him marrying Wendy.
And that basically when that happened, his siblings basically took their mom's side.
and so he doesn't have a great relationship
or even much of a relationship right now with his siblings,
which is really sad because they have these three kids
that basically aren't seeing their aunts and uncles.
And it's just, it's such a,
it seems like such a dumb controversy in general
that it's like, why did it get to this point?
I mean, I agree, but listen,
that happens in almost every family.
That is like the main fight.
feel like everyone has they're either not talking to this side, not talking to this side. And I also
don't think it's that fair to put that on the show because like he didn't sign up for that. Like,
it's his wife on the show. So I feel like that is another reason that could get his family a little
bit more angry that they're talking about his dirty laundry and that involves them. But I do have to
say, who the hell doesn't want to marry Wendy? She's a fucking catch. I know. Wendy's beautiful.
Eddie is very hot.
You know, they are a great couple.
I love to see more of them
because I feel like they're just sort of like a great presence on the show.
Yeah, because they're a nice, like, family dynamic.
I love that.
But then going from that couple that we love
to a little something different,
we have Ashley and Michael going to counseling.
And it's just like, I don't want to,
I don't really want to watch Michael Darby, like, talk about
how he's going to work on his marriage.
Like, dude, you've had so many chances.
Same. Okay, but here's the thing.
I also am piggybacking onto my own statement where, as much as I'm not a Michael Darby fan,
I personally feel like his therapy session shouldn't be on the show.
Like, you can already tell, I've mentioned this weeks ago, that he looks uncomfortable
in front of the camera.
So why on earth would we see his real self in a therapy session on a show that his wife is on?
And also it's not like this couple is like who we're all rooting for and who we want to see work through their problems.
No, honestly, we don't.
Like, we don't want to see that.
Candace also mentioned that towards the end of this episode, but we can get there later.
It's the kind of thing where we've seen Ashley and Michael having these issues for so long now that I feel like we're kind of at a point where it's like shit or get off the pot.
Like either make, get your marriage good, get it to a better place or give it up.
And either way, we don't want to see a whole other season of, you know, Michael has had these issues and he only has one more chance and blah, blah, blah, blah.
And I hope that Ashley is serious when she tells her mom and her uncle that this is like really, really the last straw.
But it's like maybe last time should have been the last straw or the time before that.
And granted, I don't mean like we don't, we don't, we're not.
rude. Like, of course, you want everyone to work out. But it's not like this is the first time we're
seeing them, like, get over a hurdle. Like, this is kind of just like yawn. This is like enough already.
And you're right. Last time should have been the last time. But I think that's when she like actually
had a realization and saw and was like, whoa, whoa, no, no, no, this cannot happen again. And every time I keep
showing that picture of him and his underwear, I'm like, can you stop? I know. We saw it. We got it.
I'm curious though, how the most recent butt-grabbing video that surfaced is going to kind of be dealt with.
I'm interested to see if they talk about it on the reunion because that was something where when those accusations were happening,
Ashley was really riding for Michael.
Like she was very much saying, that's not true.
That didn't happen.
They're just jealous.
They're making things up about him, whatever.
And it's like, baby girl, it did happen.
It's on camera.
And, you know, like, I'm not once, not twice, not three times.
Right.
And so it's like I, if Ashley wants to say like that was in the past, we're working on the present, like, that's fine.
But I would like to at least see some acknowledgement that it's like, okay, I was wrong to defend him because he actually did, you know, touch someone without consent.
And that's like not okay.
whether or not you want to, like, get a divorce because of it, that's up to her.
Can we stop talking about Michael and Ashley?
I'm over it.
I'm waiting.
I'm just waiting.

What I do want to talk about is
Karen and Bray's Halloween decorations
because I was screaming at my TV.
Okay.
Okay.
Do you know anybody else where
this is the weirdest part of this entire thing
that those two actual-sized
human being statues
are just in their coat closet?
Like, they're not even in...
Did you notice that?
Like, he literally just...
They're not in the garage.
They're not in like a random, like a decoration area, basement attic.
He literally went to their closet when you walk in the house and just pulled them out.
And I was like, are they there year round?
But also, those are the only Halloween decorations we see.
It's not like the house is all decorated.
There's pumpkins.
There's cobwebs.
And then they have these two things.
It's like, you went from zero to like full-sized zombie.
and then when it starts talking
and Karen shouts from the top floor,
baby, can you please unplug Edwina and her man?
I was like actually dying.
You think some maybe role playing goes on
with those two figurines?
Like, I don't know, but honestly, they did a close-up
and that one, I don't know the name,
I don't know which one was which, the not-mummy one,
was legitimately Uncle Fester from the Adam's family.
Like, it was the same, I was like,
oh, the whole thing was so funny,
but at this point,
this is the shit we need.
I honestly loved when they were like,
she was like, are you ready to go on your,
our walk?
And they went on a lovely walk.
They actually, like, this conversation to me
seem different than all the ones they've had recently.
Right?
Did you say it felt like they were just like talking like it was just the two of them.
No camera,
even though there were cameras,
but because we saw.
But like,
it's like they felt a different type of way.
And Ray was a little bit more like himself.
I think the cameras are getting to them.
the husbands. I do. I think the last couple times we saw them having these conversations,
it felt more like Karen was being like, okay, we have to talk about this for the cameras now.
And Ray really was not ready or into it or kind of there in that moment. Whereas last night,
it felt a little bit more like we were getting equal attention from both sides, where Karen was like,
let's talk about this. And he was like, okay, we're talking about this. And they obviously still have
some things that they need to work out and talk about.
But I do feel like last night we saw a version of Ray
that was a little bit more willing to come to the table
and actually have this conversation,
which is what Karen needs.
I don't think Karen is saying, like,
I have these grievances and you need to fix it ASAP.
I think she's saying, you know, I love you.
If you love me, we need to talk, we need to work on this.
and get to a better place because I'm not the same person I used to be.
And I don't think, I think of all of us watching agree that that's normal and good.
And she shouldn't have to apologize or be who she was before.
But obviously, that's a dynamic that has to be kind of agreed upon between the two of them.
Right.
I was just going to say that that she said to him, like, I'm not the same woman you married like 20 years
ago or whatever and he was like well neither am i and like that's kind of what i feel like each other
need to hear they've grown not necessarily that they've grown apart but they've grown and now
they need to figure out how their relationship could work as too new people but i did love when she
kept like plugging herself that she's like uh a public figure now and like she has all these lines
and when ray was like yeah we built that and she was like we built that i don't think i yeah i have mixed
feelings about that because it's like obviously they are in this together you know a marriage is a
partnership and they're on this you know journey together and i will say ray got himself into a mess
with those taxes but it provided karen with a pretty great storyline um yeah you know i i feel like
it's obviously like a husband shouldn't take credit for a wife's accomplishments or whatever
but i kind i understood what i think where he was coming from in that
it's like this is all happening to us.
Like even if it's Karen's name out there,
they're both kind of in this new phase of, you know,
who they are and who, you know, what their roles are going to be.
And so I think, I think it's, it's good that he seems like
he's a little more willing to come to the table and, you know, have these conversations.
Yeah.
I love that.
I want, I want them to be happy.
I want Karen's love tank to be full.
Oh, come on.
More Orange County we don't need to talk about.
No.
Speaking of taxes really quick, I laughed out loud last night.
I think it was like the like the scenes from last week when they were like when Robin was like, I just had I just had a hand in some paperwork.
And I was like, yeah, that paperwork being your taxes.
Like.
She makes it sound like she forgot to like check a box on a form.
And then all of a sudden she owed $90,000.
And it's like, they.
You missed one step, but that step was the only step you had to do.
But it's so exciting because we get to see Robin's, like, business venture that did anyone know existed?
Embellished.
Embelished.
Okay.
Okay.
So I did a little digging.
I went to the-
Of course you did.
I went to the embellished website.
So she's making these hats that are, like, printed all over with, like, leopard print hearts, whatever.
It's very Robin.
Well, because she said there was a gap in the market.
No, there wasn't.
nobody's ever thought to put a design on a baseball hat.
Okay, so this website, they have nine different hat designs,
and eight of them are currently sold out.
Well, she said, I didn't know that.
She said some, that is so funny.
She said, well, that's awesome for her,
but she said some are like out of stock, but they will be.
But I died because she was like, you know,
I wore like a leopard print hat one day.
And someone was like, where'd you get that?
And she was like, I made it.
Like, it was great.
Listen, you love to.
see these women like invested in this and like and so happy doing what they love but it's just
sometimes they're like um the way they go about it is so funny like it's so cute she's in her house
with her two sons they're all helping they're all excited like seeing their mom it is kind of
hilarious it is hilarious to me that her sons are like skeptical of her being a business woman
they're like you only got 14 orders this whole time I love that they're giving her a little bit
of shit for it. And it's like, I feel like they actually have a good relationship with their kids
where they're pretty honest about, you know, when they have money issues and their relationship
and stuff like that. So it's, it's fun to see kind of that back and forth. And I love Robin's kids.
I think they are, they're like some of my favorite housewives kids. I think Corey is hilarious.
Not as much as we love Juan Dixon. Um, different. It's a different. It's a different, it's a different
type of thing. I know that. Wait, quickly before we move on, that shot of Robin at Juan's
basketball game and she's dancing in this dance, I was like peeing in my pants. Because I love when
we see them as their old, like remember, they've been together a really, really, really long time.
They almost give Ryan Karen a run for their mind. Or maybe they do. I don't even know. They might have
been, but it's so cute to see them like that. And also, guys, we can't stop talking about Robin. Sorry.
in her interview
she wore this
gorgeous brunette
long ponytail wig
and in my head
I was like is that the wig
you wore on your role play
and it just wasn't styled
or did we get it right
and now it's like
Tadiana's wig
it looks great yeah
I was like is that the same wig
but this is like done up
but she looked like stunning
in that but yeah
the two of them is just very funny to see
okay
Sorry, just crack myself up with that.
We need to talk about Candace, who goes to dinner with her friend Cliffey,
and she's saying that she wants Monique prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
And I, she's, okay, so she says in her confessional that she had no choice but to press charges.
And the thing is, I don't feel like I need to judge her for her choice or, you know, like I wasn't there.
I don't know how she was feeling.
I don't, it's not my decision, obviously.
But to say that she had no choice is just a little ridiculous.
It's like you, yeah, you did have a choice.
You are fine.
She's not in the hospital.
She's not, she didn't have a broken bone.
Like, she pulled her hair.
She pulled her hair.
And I get, it's the kind of thing where it's like, if you want to, if you feel like you
want to press charges, that's what you're going to do.
Okay, sure, maybe.
But to act like this was some.
like holy quest and you had no possible other option. It's like that's a lie.
Girl, winter is so last season. And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with
hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sundress. Those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've
had enough of shopping from your couch. Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you
tear up on that envelope. It's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic. Well, here's the thing that obviously at the sip and see, which we'll talk,
but at that table, seeing when Candice was discussing it, like, here we go again with Giselle
just bringing it up. Why can't you just be like, hey, Candice, I saw you were pressing charges.
She had to be like, so my phone was buzzing and are you okay? Like I saw stuff. And I'm like,
I'll just like ask the question. Like stop like starting.
trouble. So it's funny though, because then part of me, like, we see like a little glimpse of like,
oh, evil little, not evil, but like, well, evil little Candace. And I'm just like, you are like
not night. Like she was like, we saw that side of her. And then you see all the women again being like,
are you sure you want to do that? So I'm like, guys, in this case, I want to be like, choose Elaine.
Hello. When Jezelle asked if she wants jail time for Monique and Candice's response was like,
well, you know, they'll do whatever they think is right.
And it's like, you, like, all of them, even the women who don't like Monique are like,
we don't want her to go to prison.
Like, that's not what this is about.
She's going to get like an hour of community service.
That's like what's going to happen.
Right.
She'll get a nice little fine.
I don't even know.
I actually haven't really been paying attention to like what is happening with all of that
now.
So I'm curious to see how that progresses and what the updates are because clearly Monique is not
in prison.
I don't really think anyone would say that she should be.
She absolutely should not be, especially because I'm sorry, it's, we keep saying this,
but it's not like she walked up to her and just punched her in the face.
They were having an argument and it, like, it wasn't random, I'm saying.
So it wasn't like, um, whatever.
But it was crazy how they were like, we don't want her to go to jail.
And then Candice is like, we don't.
Like she was almost doing it to satisfy the other women.
And it's like, no, no, you need, this is a you situation.
Do you want her, what charges do you want to press and why?
Or drop it.
Literally, drop it.
I did.
I thought the sip and see looked like such a fun event.
It made me miss going to parties.
They, I mean, everybody was dressed to the nines.
I loved the Nigerian outfits that Wendy and her family were wearing.
The baby.
Oh, my God.
Can we talk about Cameron?
After they did the little like speech part when they,
everybody was just dancing and having a good time
and they're just like bouncing Cameron up and down
oh my God I was
I wanted to be there.
For a majority of it but like all babies do
and when they're the center of attention
but she is so freaking cute
and like I liked this like the reasoning behind it
where Wendy was like we're gonna like
I want you all to wear pink to help bring Cameron
like into womanhood and it was just so
it looked like such a nice drama free event
and you can tell when Wendy said she wasn't
She was like, no.
Because like, without even saying if you knew why.
Not that I think Monique would cause trouble there, but it's like this is about my baby.
We are not doing Jersey Housewives style over here.
Well, also, oh my God, the christening.
Also, if you think about it, Monique or Wendy was Candace's friend that came onto the show.
So they already know each other.
Obviously, Candace was going to be at the Simpancy.
Her mom was there as well.
And so it makes sense that this would be an event where it's,
like if I'm going to pick one, Candice is going to be the one who's there, not Monique.
And it's interesting, Monique tweeted last night.
She was like, drinking game, take a shot every time you hear the word Monique, but I'm not on camera.
And it's like, I get where she's coming from that I'm sure it's frustrating to watch these episodes
and kind of see everyone hashing out the storyline without her.
But also it's like, Candice obviously isn't going to film with you.
Giselle doesn't want to film with you.
Robin and Wendy probably have a lot of mixed feelings about being, you know, filming with her.
So it's like, yeah, they're going to talk about it.
I don't know.
It's, I do feel for Monique in some sense, in some ways, but also it's like, what did you really think was going to happen?
I get what you're saying and I get, I see that.
But at the same time, I also see where Monique is coming from.
Like, stop talking about me if you don't want to film with me.
Seriously, like, why are you keep, why do you keep bringing it up?
And I kind of, like, see it that way.
It's like, okay, you talked about it.
That's fine.
But I thought that was funny tweet because funnier than her past tweets,
which is calling out Candace and everything.
But, yeah, I mean, it's just, and at this point,
is this what the rest of the season is going to be,
where we're just talking about the person who's not in the room?
We'll see.
Yeah, it's hard to tell from the midseason trailer,
we saw a couple weeks ago, it's hard to tell.
Obviously, Monique is going to be in the show more.
It's not like she just is gone,
but it's a little unclear sort of if she's at certain group events,
if she's only filming with certain people.
We know she doesn't go on the trip,
but other than that, it's kind of difficult to tell.
And I hope for the show's sake,
I hope she's around more versus less,
but I kind of don't see it going that way.
But, you know, we'll see.
This episode, I thought, was really fun because we had, you know, different marriage issues.
The scene, we didn't talk about it a lot, but the scene with Ashley and her uncle and her mom, I loved too.
And they clearly are on the same page as us when it comes to that relationship.
I don't know.
I just, I really enjoyed it.
I felt like there was a lot going on.
And I was never, I was never bored during this episode.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm usually not bored during Potomac.
I like that they show what's happening in each of their lives.
I do have to say I am ready, not altercations, but I am ready for a little bit more drama.
Like, I'm ready.
Like, I need it.
We also, can we talk about how Ashley, they showed the clip of Ashley in the bathroom during the altercation when she's like, well, I'm peeing, come on.
But who's the one that told her?
Like, did some, was someone like, um.
I think she could hear it.
I think she heard the screaming from the bathroom.
That's obviously pretty true.
Like, duh, it was loud.
But then she kind of is trying to insert herself and defend Monique for what was happening.
And Giselle and Robin were like, Ashley, you weren't there.
Because she's like, she wasn't getting in your face.
And it's like, wait, you literally weren't in the room.
Right.
I mean, I feel like she just needs to take it down a notch with, we get it.
You're defending Monique.
Like, we do get it.
but just like take it down like a little bit.
Exactly.
Yeah.
It's a little bit like you don't have to go that hard.
You can say that you are supporting Monique without, you know,
trying to insert yourself in a conversation.
Right.
So, Dill, who was your Bravo Lab from this week?
Uh, I'm going to say, I'm going to say Robin.
Because I like, we can both say Robin.
I like seeing her.
sometimes. At the basketball game, I thought that was like such a great little moment. She showed up on time to the sip and see looking great in her pink dress. You know, I'm just loving Robin these days and I think she's having a fun season. Okay, totally agree. Just really quick about the timing situation. Did it actually start at six or eight? Like I'm so, was she on time or was she too early? Like Wendy was like, no, it starts at eight. Like that part should have been a little, I don't know, explaining.
a little more, like what's going on here?
I needed, like, I needed, like...
Oh my God, imagine production told Robin to go in six.
I needed, like, a, like, a little banner at the bottom being, like, explaining the timeline
of that night.
Yeah, but, um, you know what, this episode, I'm, I am going to give it, I agree with you,
but I'm going to give it to Wendy just because, like, that looked like a great party.
Yes.
Um, everything was done beautifully and to honor a little baby Cameron, like, oh, so cute.
And also,
Wendy and Eddie seem to have a really great relationship,
and it seems like she's very supportive of him
and is really there for him with these issues that are tough.
Obviously, his family chose not to come to the sip and see,
which, you know, it was sad.
It was sad at the end when they were talking about that,
and clearly it's weighing on them a lot.
And, yeah, it was, I love seeing more of Wendy.
I'm enjoying her a lot.
So getting to see kind of a little more of her world this week was really fun.
Yeah.
