Mention It All - Teresa Hates Toxicity, Apparently (Plus RHOC)

Episode Date: July 26, 2024

To kick off today’s episode, Dylan discusses the biggest issue of the week: how RHOSLC will overlap with the 2034 Olympics in Salt Lake City. Which Housewife will get to light the cauldron?? He also... shares an update on the Sandoval lawsuit saga, before diving into Teresa Giudice’s vague Instagram statement about toxicity in the Bravo community. Who is she talking about (Margaret) and why is she posting it right now? Rachel Fuda also has some less-than-vague responses of her own. Dylan finishes the episode by recapping RHOC, in which Gina calls Jenn a squatter, Alexis steals Shannon’s trainer, and Sutton Stracke makes a perfect cameo. Learn more about your ad choices. Starting point is 00:00:27 See Home Depot.com slash price match for details. Betches Media presents. Ha ha, laugh, funny. Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast. We don't say that, but now we said it. With me, Dylan Hafer. We're going to check me, boo. Hey, everyone, welcome back to the Mention It All podcast.
Starting point is 00:00:48 It's Thursday, and we have a busy day. We have a lot to get into, obviously, another episode of OC as this season just continues to plug along. And I think another really interesting episode to talk about, we have some real, Housewives of New Jersey social media mess that we are going to talk about. And then we, right before I started recording, I saw that Katie Maloney, our beloved Katie Maloney, commented on her podcast this week on the situation with Tom Sandoval's former lawsuit against Ariana. So we're going to get into her comments. But man, this is, this has just been, what a week, the Olympics are coming up. There's been some political news out.
Starting point is 00:01:34 in the world if you haven't noticed. And it's just, it feels nice to be able to just sit here, just you, me, and the microphone and talk about Bravo because it feels like we're being fed right now. And I feel like it's been, it's been a weird few months in the Bravo world. And I guess it still is. I mean, I've had the great fortune to have many of the Dubai Housewives on this season. But other than that, it's been it's been a little bit of a weird summer. Like I feel like we're still kind of like trying to get all of our shows in gear. We're waiting on a few kind of premiere dates for the fall and things like that. Like I want to know when Roney's coming back.
Starting point is 00:02:13 I want to know when Southern Charm is coming back and Salt Lake. And I hope that we're getting a few more pieces in place. By the way, Salt Lake City hosting the Olympics once again in 2034. I feel like that is if the. If Real Housewives of Salt Lake City still exists in 2034, I mean, if any of us still exist in 2034, I cannot wait for the Olympic season of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. And yes, the Olympics are coming to L.A., the Summer Olympics in 2028, but I just don't feel like that's really that relevant to Housewives.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Like, okay, so the Olympics are going to happen. NBC, as we know, has the rights to the Olympics. So the opportunities would be ripe for a tie-in. Like, I don't think that they're sending housewives to Paris for the Olympics, but it would be easy for them to have, like, Kyle Richards and Garcell at the opening ceremonies. Oh, my God, wait, they should do the torch. They should hold it together. They should do, you know how during the opening ceremony they'll have, like, the torch will
Starting point is 00:03:25 enter the stadium and usually there's like five or six sort of like final people that are like the bigger names that are the last torch bearers. And then whoever's like the most, you know, it's going to be like Simone Biles lighting the cauldron or something. Like that spot I feel like is taken. It's going to be like Michael Phelps and like Katie Ledecky and Simone Biles. But what if they had Sutton's track like hobbling along? Like her foot's going to be broken as it always is or something. But what if they just had the housewives? just doing one little leg of the of the torch relay. It doesn't have to be like the one during the opening ceremony in the stadium,
Starting point is 00:04:02 but just like let them do like the pre part of the relay when it's like, you know, coming through the streets of Los Angeles. That would be iconic. But Salt Lake City, I feel like, you know, Lisa Barlow is the queen of Sundance. She's going to be the queen of the Olympics. Like I know she's going to make it about her. And I really hope that we're still around to see how that happens in 2034. But without further ado, we should probably get into the main business we have at hand today.
Starting point is 00:04:29 First of all, Katie talking about this lawsuit. So Katie has a podcast. If you're unaware, she now has a podcast with Dana who, Dana, like D-A-Y-N-A, who was on one season of Vanderpumpurals, that cursed season with like 37 people in the cast. And then half of them got fired for being racist right after. Dana wasn't racist, to my knowledge. She just got fired because she was boring. But she and Katie have a podcast together now. And Katie talked about this lawsuit situation.
Starting point is 00:04:56 If you didn't listen to my episode on Monday of this week with Leo Palmerie, we talked about Tom's retraction of the lawsuit and his statement about how he didn't understand and his lawyer didn't really tell him what it meant to file a counter complaint and that he never would have done it if he realized that he was actually suing Ariana. Katie is, she's not buying it. She says that basically, even if he did get bad legal advice or if he didn't completely understand exactly what was happening from a legal perspective, that the fact that he deactivated his Instagram account when this counterclaim was filed shows that he at least had some understanding of what the reaction was going to be, the gravity of kind of taking this type of action, and that if he understood that it was going to be bad enough that he should probably deactivate his social media,
Starting point is 00:05:52 that there's not really, he can't really claim that he was like, didn't mean to do anything that would be perceived as shady or, you know, vengeful or whatever. I don't know. I mean, I'm not inside Tom's head. I don't know exactly what his lawyer
Starting point is 00:06:07 was saying to him, but I don't fully disagree with Katie's version of events, but it's, she also called it quote, disgusting and shameful. Just, I mean, this whole thing is just a mess. Also, by the way, the attorney that Tom Sandoval got rid of because of this is the brother of the attorney that is representing Rachel in her revenge porn case. How fucking messy is that that there are these two?
Starting point is 00:06:33 The brothers Garagos are on opposite sides of this reality TV revenge porn invasion of privacy lawsuit. Like, are there no other clients in the world? We need to be. We need to be. We need to cameras on them. We need cameras on the... This was pointed out in Matt Bellany's Puck newsletter, which is, it's usually just about like the actual entertainment industry. And so when there was a subject line that was about Bravo, I was like, excuse me, but that is so crazy. It's just, I don't know if we'll see any more of this play out. I mean, Ariana's busy. Tom, Tom is doing God knows what, but just a mess. Anyway, you cut it. But speaking of mess, the real houseways of New Jersey, their season is, uh, is, uh, is end.
Starting point is 00:07:19 without a reunion, but that isn't stopping some of the women from speaking out on social media directly or indirectly. So, Teresa, on Wednesday afternoon, posted this, I mean, visually just really fugly post that's like, it's from an Instagram story in create mode, which is just my least favorite type of, at least have the dignity for a notes app screenshot, you know, a clean white background with black text or make it in Canva. You know, we should be making our statements in Canva at this point. If you're not going to, if you're not going to bring in the big guns and get into like Photoshop or something, do it in Canada, make it look pleasing. This is an orange background with black text, like what in the Halloween? But here it is. I have been on the
Starting point is 00:08:04 Real House House House of New Jersey for the last 14 seasons. And during that time, I have seen and been a part of my fair share of drama with my castmates. What is happening off camera on social media is absolutely disgusting and is fueled by toxic people who are not affiliated. with the show or the cast and are only interested in promoting themselves by spreading their hate through false narratives and lies. It has affected all of us on the cast and our families. They are attacking our children, going after our businesses, and they are turning something that is supposed to be entertainment into something very dark and toxic. This hate and toxicity has to stop. I am asking everyone to stop engaging in any negativity towards my castmates and all of our families.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Enough is enough. Love, love, love, Teresa. I mean, what can I say? I mean, do I agree with the sentiment of this post? If this, if I read this in a vacuum and I didn't know anything about Teresa or anybody else on the cast, notice she doesn't name any other names. The amount of times she probably had to stop herself from being like, and that bitch, Margaret. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:09:15 But if I just saw this in a vacuum, I would be like, yeah. Sounds about right. We shouldn't be targeting people's families. This hate and toxicity does have to stop. Who wouldn't want that? But it's like, as somebody once said, we exist in the context of all that has been. And when you're taking a little, a wee zoom out and looking at 14 seasons worth of context, Teresa Judeyce asking everyone to stop engaging in any negativity and saying that this is supposed to be something that is just entertainment and they're turning it into something dark and toxic.
Starting point is 00:09:55 I'm like, my love, we got to be fucking for real here. Like I don't know exactly what she's referring to. To be honest, this is a pretty, it's a pretty vague statement. and I wish she had named some names. Like, is she talking about Louise X? Is she talking about Bo Dietel or the equivalent that's being employed by somebody else in the cast? I don't know because she didn't say it. But what is really interesting to me is that she specifically is saying that this is people who are not affiliated with the show or the cast.
Starting point is 00:10:32 And they're only interested in promoting themselves. And I'm like, okay, so if you're not talking about anybody on the cast, why do I still feel like you're talking about people on the cast? I just can't imagine that this isn't meant to be some sort of dig at Margaret or at Rachel or at Melissa even. Like, truly, and I saw Sam Bush, my colleague and some other people with the call is coming from inside the house sentiment. And I get that. But also, I'm like, what's the call? What's being said? The vibe around Jersey on social media has been toxic as long as I've been paying attention.
Starting point is 00:11:10 And that's not from the very beginning, but that's at least a few years. And so I don't know. To be honest, if anything, I feel like the last little bit of Jersey, I've seen less conversation on social media because I feel like people are checking out a little bit this season. People know that there is, that changes a common and they're kind of maybe less invested than they have been in the past. Of course there are still people out there who are toxic, but on both sides.
Starting point is 00:11:38 And I got to say, especially on the side that Teresa's on. So I don't even know, like I said, I don't know exactly what she's referring to, but it feels like there is something that she isn't saying. And I don't know if that's for legal reasons. I don't know if that's for not wanting to get an angry text from Bravo PR reasons. But it is just, it's a strange thing to post. It's a strange timing. We know that the season is ending in two weeks. They've already filmed this finale watch party non-reunion thing, which by the way, Jennifer Aiden told page six that it was quite pleasant.
Starting point is 00:12:16 And I'm like, respectfully, I don't want whatever the season-ending thing is to be quite pleasant for Jennifer. I wanted to be quite pleasant for me with a glass of wine in hand and snacks on the couch. I don't think I'm going to be entertained by something that Jennifer experienced as quite pleasant. I don't want people to be, you know, putting their own, you know, well-being at risk for my entertainment. But I certainly would like to get to the bottom of some things and who this is about being one of them. Study and play. Come together on a Windows 11 PC. Starting point is 00:13:47 Sprite is a registered trademark of the Coca-Cola Company. But I think we might have a little clue because shortly after Teresa posted this, our own Rachel Fuda posted a few Instagram stories that are similarly, but also not really vague at all because they're definitely about Teresa. The first, by the way, I put all of these screenshots into like a Google Talk and printed them out. So I feel very prepared and very official right now. So I'm reading these off of a piece of paper because, you know, I like to have, you know,
Starting point is 00:14:22 real documents in front of me. But the first thing that Rachel Fuda posted on her Instagram story, she really went into like the meme. She was like Google image searching all this stuff. clearly. The first is, what is gaslighting? And it's a paragraph-long definition of gaslighting. It's a specific kind of emotional abuse, convince a person of something untrue while also suggesting that they're wrong, crazy, or not seeing things clearly, undermining their perception of reality, a recurrent pattern of behavior aimed at breaking down a person's ability to
Starting point is 00:14:54 criticize question or challenge the other person, now and in the future. You know, she's just throwing out there. What is the definition of gaslighting? Some people maybe don't know. And then the next thing she posts is, God, in 2024, a Michael Scott meme from the office. And it's me trying to explain to toxic people why I can't be around them. And it's Michael Scott saying, you are a thief of joy. I feel like I'm in 2007 all over again. I love The Office as much as the next person. But really, we're not a...
Starting point is 00:15:24 I feel like Veep would have been a little bit more of a timely reference to make. And then the third, again, truly just in the 2000s like meme. Canon is a some e-cards post of a man with a megaphone. And it says there's nothing funnier than a hypocrite with a big mouth and a bad memory. And I mean, Rachel Fuda, she really, I respect her for being less vague than Teresa. I got to say. It's so funny, just kind of the place that Jersey is in right now, because this is something that should be talked about at the reunion.
Starting point is 00:15:59 It just is. And I don't know, I don't know exactly what went into the decision to not have that reunion. But I just feel like every time I talk about Jersey, there's one more thing that I'm like, you know what, I would have liked to see them discuss that. And we're not going to get that chance. And I don't know if Rachel and Teresa, if both of them will stay on the show, if one of them will stay on the show, if neither of them will stay on the show. But this is the kind of thing I want Housewives to be about. I want somebody to post something on their Instagram story and then somebody else to post something that's, you know, a sub-tweet of that.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Like, this, this is, this is drama. And now it's just going to live in this weird, you know, nothing, you know, void in social media. And like, I just, I want these things to be happening on camera. And right now, nothing is happening on camera in New Jersey except for a weird dual watch party at Rail Steakhouse. and that isn't, it isn't pleasing to me. But we'll see where, we'll see where we land. And in the meantime, let's head to greener pastures of Orange County. Because we pick up right where we left off with Gina storming out of this coffee shop after her ill-fated attempt to speak to Jen and, you know, yelling at her about not teaching outdoor yoga classes and why she's having her threads done.
Starting point is 00:17:23 The threads is like such a funny thing. It's like the non-surgical facelift where they put the threads like under your skin and you have to get them tightened. It really is like some, you know, I'm sure it's great for everybody who does it. But to me, it sounds like torture. I don't know. But I love the structure of this because Gina, Gina leaves the coffee shop, gets in the car, immediately calls Emily to vent. And then Jen immediately calls Shannon. And I don't know what the logistics are production-wise of whether they already plan to have these women.
Starting point is 00:17:55 at the ready waiting to accept a phone call to hear about how this meeting went. But whoever, whoever, like, I was going to say whoever scripts this out, but it's not scripted, of course. Whoever finesses the logistics to make sure that this comes to pass. I really appreciate you because Gina being on the phone with Emily immediately, oh, fuck that girl. Fuck that girl. I am no longer here to try and educate Jen how not to be an idiot.
Starting point is 00:18:21 it. Gina fully just leaning into this like, Jen is dumb thing. I don't know if it's, I don't know if it's grounded in the reality of the situation, but it is really funny to me. And I appreciate that. Gina,
Starting point is 00:18:35 she's a, she's a comedy girl. She, she makes me laugh. And for that, I am grateful. I don't know if it's always intentional. But she's complaining,
Starting point is 00:18:44 you know, she just, she just sees Jen as somebody who's like fundamentally irresponsible and doesn't understand how the world works. And I think, based on everybody's kind of read on this situation, I think pretty much everyone agrees that Gina is valid in her frustration with how this real estate situation panned out with Jen, but maybe just is putting like a little too much sauce on it. Like it's it's like she didn't do
Starting point is 00:19:09 this to you to screw you over. Like she, a situation got out of hand. She clearly is going through it. She made some bad choices. She was in a position that's not ideal and like it went wrong. And I think I mean, she knows that, and we'll get there. But then Jen tells Shannon that she just thought somebody who had to live in a casita after her divorce would be a bit more understanding of her situation. And I will always be, I will always be on board with any Casita reference because that era of Gina's journey is just, it's so iconic. And, you know, people might argue that Gina hasn't done anything iconic on this show. and I would argue that living in a casino by itself gave us a lot of material. But, I mean, Jen is fully just out here admitting that the only, she says the only money I have is what Will gives me.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Will being her ex-husband, who she's not yet technically divorced from. The way divorces operate on these shows, and maybe in real life, I don't know that much about divorcing in California or Oklahoma. Is he even in California? they've been split up for a long time. She's already ready to get engaged to another guy. You know, Gina's man, Travis, he's still dealing with all of his divorce stuff. It just is, it's wild to me how these situations just take forever. I mean, Polly on Jersey, he's not divorced yet.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Like, I don't know. I mean, my heart goes out to anybody who has to deal with this because it just seems like the biggest time suck, money, energy suck and you know none of the fun sucking is happening during that time so it it's it's it sucks it really does suck but moving on the next thing we have on the docket for this week is emily's flag football event and can i just say i usually don't really enjoy the physical activities if they're you know when somebody's having a field day when there's a capture the flag or whatever I normally kind of zone out. I'm like, I don't need to know
Starting point is 00:21:16 who's winning this dumb game that they're gonna play for five minutes before they have a fight. The flag football was kind of fun to watch because first of all, none of these women understand the rules of football. And like I can relate.
Starting point is 00:21:28 I feel like I sort of do now, but still not. Like when I'm watching the game, I'm not just like bewildered the whole time, but I also couldn't explain all the rules. Like I know in theory like what a down is. And I mean, I don't think these women are playing flag football with a lot of, like, actual rules. I think it's more just a misunderstanding of when you're allowed to tackle somebody. I guess you're just never allowed to tackle somebody in flag football.
Starting point is 00:21:56 But Heather is the referee really has her work cut out for her. But watching, yeah, watching the game, I just really enjoyed it. I mean, it does help that the teams are, they do a school yard pick for the teams. And it, I mean, split right down the middle. It's like it's Alexis versus Shannon. Gina versus Jen. It's, you know, inspired work with the team selection. But yeah, the flag football, I really, I really enjoyed watching it. And then, of course, we do get down to the important business of talking about our interpersonal issues with one another. And I loved the moment when
Starting point is 00:22:31 Jen is cluing in some of the women a little bit about the issues she's having with Gina and the ill-fated meeting they had and Katie and Alexis specifically are getting getting the tea and when Alexis realizes that she's talking about the situation with Gina and she goes and this animosity is is here today in the room with us she lights up like she just saw a piece of meat and she's like a lion in the desert she's like here now we get to we get to be in the same room as this as this as this big tension. I love that. I love that energy. I love somebody who comes back on Housewives and is like, you know what? I can't wait to get my feet wet. And obviously Alexis and Shannon already had their big thing in episode one, but I love that Alexis is like curious about the rest of the group because I feel like that's what we actually need from her. So good, so good. Everything you want for summer is at Nordstrom rack stores now and up to 60% off. Stock up and save on the brands you love like Vince, Sam Edelman, Frame and Free. people. Starting point is 00:24:03 And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders. That perfect hang on the patio sundress. those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've had enough of shopping from your couch.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope. It's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross. Work your magic. But of course, Shannon and Alexis are still having their shoes too. And what we come upon this week is that Shannon is mad that John has started bringing Alexis to the gym. that she claims that she first brought John to and had him working with her trainer. And now Alexis has been in the gym and she was there right before she got there and it just feels disrespectful.
Starting point is 00:24:57 And it's like get your own gym and this is mine. And look, I don't know that much about the Newport Beach gym scene. I don't know how small this gym is. I think it does sound like it's a smaller gym. It's not like you're at, you know, a massive lifetime fitness or something. where you could, you know, work with a million different people. But there's kind of, there's a dispute over who has the claim on the gym because, you know, Alexis is like, oh, well, you know, I saw you at my gym.
Starting point is 00:25:26 And then, I mean, our gym. I mean, like, John's gym. And, you know, Shannon, is it, can it be your gym if you don't own it? Also, you haven't been there in six months. Just like the layers of the shade and the disagreement over like, whose gym is it? Who goes to the gym? Who started going to the gym? who has ownership over the gym.
Starting point is 00:25:47 But this comes to a head later because we hear post-flag football scene that Alexis and John were talked to by the trainer, the owner, I don't know who owns this gym. And basically he said, we don't want drama at the gym. And also, I heard you were talking about your sex life with John and aren't you supposed to be a Christian. First of all, I'm like, why is the trainer concerned with Alexis's Christian? values. If you're training John Jansen and his current and former housewife girlfriends, I really don't think you need to be that concerned about like whether the Ten Commandments are being observed in your fitness facility. But basically, it sounds like John and Alexis get more or less
Starting point is 00:26:36 dumped from the gym. And Alexis is now big mad at Shannon because she knows from the fact that the trainer knows that she was talking about her sex life that Shannon told the trainer about what happened at Heather's luncheon. It's just, first of all, it's like, God, this grapevine is long and complicated, but it's like, does Alexis really care about this trainer? Is she mad about not getting to go to the gym anymore, or is she just mad because she feels like Shannon ran her mouth? Because the whole thing with Alexis in this situation is that, like, there's no real on-paper reason that Alexis should want to be going to the same gym as Shannon. She's going there because John brought her. I understand that. I don't think it's like the worst thing in the world that they go
Starting point is 00:27:24 to the same gym, but it's like you would think that Alexis would be more interested in finding her own stuff with John than just kind of reliving, it seems like, the John and Shannon playbook. Because Shannon points out, first of all, Alexis now appears with the dog that looks identical to Archiebadoor. Shannon is saying they go to the same restaurants that they used to go to. They go to the same gym. He took her to the same hotel on her birthday. It's just like, I get that people have their habits and are set in their ways and that John is a 62-year-old man and he probably likes the restaurant he likes. But for Alexis, who's laying claim to John John, Jansen and demanding that everybody gets on board with him being this dreamboat who's
Starting point is 00:28:15 a sex god and the best person anyone's ever met. It's like, why don't you want to create your own experiences with him? And I think that that is where Alexis is losing me a little bit that I understand, or maybe I don't understand, but I respect and I accept that she has this, you know, gold-plated view of John Jansen and that right now she doesn't want to hear a negative word about him. But I just wish that she was able to realize and acknowledge just a little bit how weird it must feel for Shannon that this recent relationship that she got out of is now being basically repeated with somebody else and that she's expected to just like not have any feelings or
Starting point is 00:29:04 opinions or issues with that. So I think Alexis, as much as I'm enjoying her kind of like energy on this season, I don't think that she is setting herself up for like longer term success within the group by being so one-sided about this whole thing with John. Like we get it. Yeah, I think it's funny to hear you talk about Johnny Jay. I don't really need to hear about the sex life. But at the same time, I think that you're like allowed to talk about your sex life. I don't have like an actual issue with that. It just is like, you know, maybe we could like tone it down just, just one little
Starting point is 00:29:43 incey tinsy bit. The Gina and Jen situation, it gets a little better. They do apologize to each other in this episode. Even after Gina says that Jen was squatting in the house that she helped her get into, she's like, she's like, yeah, well, of course they're responding to your emails because you're in, you're squatting in the house that she's trying. kind of red. She's like, oh, I'm squatting. I'm squatter. She's like, you were. I don't know the technical definition of squatting. We'll put a pin in that. But it's just like, I do feel like
Starting point is 00:30:13 Gina, again, is using sort of purposefully inflammatory language. Everyone in the group seems to kind of like chaf at the suggestion that Jen is a squatter, because that just isn't a very nice thing to say about somebody. And also, she's no longer in the house. But it does feel like they're able to breakthrough just a little bit of Jen knows that she's not in a good situation. Gina really knows that too. And if we can just be like a little bit kinder to each other, it could go such a long way. And I know this feels antithetical to what housewives is, but like we can we can go in small steps, fits and starts. It's okay. What I do like is Katie's read on this whole situation because she, you know, she's a new housewife. She's only a few episodes in. She doesn't know these people that well yet. And I like
Starting point is 00:31:00 that she is looking at the situation. She's saying, I see both sides, but I don't think that anyone is at fault. She's like, I understand why Gina's mad. She was screwed over in a way. But I also think that Jen is really going through it, and she didn't anticipate or intend that this was going to happen. So I see both sides, but nobody is the cause of the situation intentionally. And I think for a new housewife who is still kind of testing the waters and seeing, where she's going to land in the group, I think that that's a really smart way to go about it,
Starting point is 00:31:34 because that means that you're going to be kind of a willing, listening ear to anyone that comes your way. But at the same time, you're kind of thinking carefully about a situation, and you're not just going to go along with the first person or the loudest person that gets to you. I also like we get a little more, a little more detail about Gina's situation with Travis, because I know I've talked about in the last couple of weeks that I don't really get what she's trying to do and how this like moving out situation is actually going to be a step forward for her and Travis. And when she she mentions this week that she feels like she is now at a place where personally
Starting point is 00:32:15 she is in a place of more financial stability and she has enough money and even some extra. And that the problem is that because Travis's divorce is still such a, you know, a suck. God, why am I saying? I've said the word suck 42 times of this podcast. That's the drinking game for today. Every time you hear the word suck, just throw one back. I hope you're not driving while you listen to this.
Starting point is 00:32:42 But so she feels like she's building this financial stability, but Travis is still stuck in court with his ex. And so she feels like she has the money to do nice stuff for her kids, but not for all six kids plus Travis. And so when you're thinking about planning. a little family vacation, if it's one adult and three kids, that's a lot different than two adults and six kids. And so she wants to do this nice stuff for her kids, but she feels like she can't, unless she can do it for everyone. You know, you have to bring valentines for the whole class.
Starting point is 00:33:17 And so she feels guilty about then not doing stuff for her own kids. And so she's, she says that she's making this decision to prioritize herself and her own children over their kind of, blended family unit, which she feels guilty about. I totally, I totally understand the kind of impossibility of that situation and how it feels like she's doing her own kids a disservice and how that feels like something that she really, like she can't continue. I mean, I still don't know where this is going to go. She doesn't know where it's going to go. Travis clearly is like, you know, not as on board as she is. But then also is. Is she really that on board? I mean, we see him packing and, like, leaving the house. And it's,
Starting point is 00:34:03 it feels final in a way that I don't know what the game plan is. And I think that's kind of, not that she owes me her relationship game plan, because who am I, except for, you know, somebody with a podcast and a lot of opinions. But I just, I would be really interested to know kind of what her ideal scenario is. What, what is your, what is your, what is your, ideal plan for the next, let's say, two to three years of this relationship. If Travis is able to get his divorce finalized and get his court stuff done, then do you think you'll be in a place where you can afford a house for six kids? And then will you just combine back together?
Starting point is 00:34:49 Like, what is the game plan? I think Tamara, I mean, Tamara brings that up in this episode that she's never heard somebody frame this type of scenario as, a step forward in their relationship. And I, again, I mean, that's the part that I am trying to understand. And I just, I think that the issue is just that it's, it's, it is a unique situation. And I don't know if it really is going to work. But I, you know, I, I like Gina and I want the best for her.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Travis has always seemed like a really nice guy. And it seemed like they worked together well. Clearly, they're in a tough spot. I would like for them to be okay. But we'll see. I mean, I'm not going to like lose. sleep over it at the end of the day. It's like, you know, do whatever you need to do. The really fun part of this episode, though, was that we get Sutton's track. Sutton on OC.
Starting point is 00:35:38 She used to live in OC. So she and Katie go way back. They met like through the master's golf or like rich people stuff. I don't know. And Gina knows Sutton a little bit. I mean, she knows Sutton because they're on housewives. I mean, let's be honest. Like she knows Sutton because they see each other at BravoCon and whatever. But their connection in universe, let's say, is that Gina's ex used to work at the company that Sutton's X was like in charge of. It was like a mutual fund. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:36:12 She's like, she's like, the difference is Sutton did way better in her divorce than me. I'm like, I don't know if she did better in the divorce. I think there was just a lot more, a lot more community property to divide up, let's say. Like, I don't think Gina's ex got to keep a minor league baseball team and she did it. I think there just wasn't a minor league baseball team to begin with. But it's fun to see Sutton in a different light. I love that she gets like a little dramatic entrance with a dog and some fun music. But her little meeting with Katie and Gina, it's fun.
Starting point is 00:36:46 I like it. Sutton is a, is a kooky lady. And it's fun to hear about kind of their background. she's getting a little bit of a little bit clued into the situation with Heather. And we're starting to see the the Heather and Katie dynamic where Katie brings up again that she had, you know, been around Heather or met Heather in the past, but that Heather's luncheon on the premiere was the first time that Heather had ever acknowledged her or really given her the time of day.
Starting point is 00:37:15 And so she says that she feels like now that she and Heather are, you know, in the group together and getting to know each other. She feels like Heather is playing two roles with her and she doesn't know which one to trust. And I mean, this is something that people have brought up with Heather in the past that maybe she can be a little bit fake. You don't know if she really is like, you know, actually gives the fuck about you or is just kind of like putting on a nice face and offering you a glass of champagne because
Starting point is 00:37:43 it's like the, you know, the proper thing to do. But next week, next week it really looks like is when we're going to get the sort of inciting incident of the real issue with Heather and Katie. And this is, it's the thing about the photos of them at Disneyland. And Heather allegedly calling the paparazzi on herself at Disneyland. And this is just, this is Housewives Catnip. This is the kind of drama and storyline that I live for. And I'm so excited to see it.
Starting point is 00:38:14 I think we're getting Vicky next week too. I mean, OC, they're continuing to give us what we want and need and deserve. and I'm so thankful for it.
