Betches Media presents.
Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All.
A Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With Dylan Hafer.
Who don't check me, boo?
And Barry Rosenfeld.
I need to start drinking alcohol.
Now go to sleep week.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Menture at All podcast.
I'm Dylan Hafer.
And I'm Barry Rosenfeld.
And today we have a little holiday end of year special because if you've looked at a
calendar lately, the year is.
just about over.
Yeah.
And what a year it's been.
What a year.
This is our first full year of doing this podcast.
Last year we started in like April.
So we didn't do the whole.
So it's strange to look back and realize that we've recapped like every single episode of
housewives that happened this year.
And you know, of below deck and of all this stuff.
You know, like we've we've really covered a lot.
of ground this year and a lot happened.
We did and I have a fun story that happened this week with Dylan, between Dylan and I
at our Bech's holiday party.
No, it's funny.
We were just sitting having drinks and Dylan like he lifted up my shoulder like my sweater
so my shoulder wouldn't be cold and he said, Barry, I can't believe how many episodes we've done.
Oh my God.
And I said, same Dylan.
I remember that, definitely.
Okay, so we are doing a little bit of a two-part situation.
So we're going to have this episode.
We are going to go down a ranking that I put together.
So, Barry, you can tell me if you really strongly disagree with my ranking.
Well, I would have done that prior to the show already.
That is true.
of the 10 sort of biggest Bravo moments, stories.
They're not all like scandals,
but just things that happen in the Bravo world this year.
And then we're going to do another episode
where we talk about some of our favorites
and least favorites of 2021
and what we're looking forward to next year.
So it's going to be a two-part extravaganza of 2021 being over.
Honestly, thank God.
Like moving on already.
Okay, so let's get right into this ranking.
At number 10, we have our Vanderpump Rules breakups.
So that's Lala and Randall and James and Raquel, our two engaged couples, one of which,
you know, James and Raquel got engaged and unengaged all within this year.
I was looking back and I was like, wow, yeah, like I could put them getting engaged on here,
but it already feels irrelevant.
They got engaged and then, is it called unengaged?
I guess it's a breakup, but it's unengaged faster before we can even like recap the end of the year engagement.
I know.
And we're still, you know, the season's not even over.
So they really, you know, good for them for making up their minds.
Correct.
And Lala has been throwing some shade on TikTok and good for her.
Lala, okay, I will say it's getting to the point where Lala is, it feels like she's milking it a little bit.
Like she is, you know, they're out there keep being like page six articles and it's always, you know, on the new episode of her give them Lala podcast, she said this about Randall or like she said that she felt disrespected.
She said this and like there was just one where she told a story about how she figured out that Randall like lied about the value of her engagement ring.
And so it feels like she is kind of, you know, riding the sympathy train, you know, kind of using,
she's like throwing out little breadcrumbs of drama because she knows it's going to get attention,
which is fine.
But, um.
Right.
Because it's like at what point are you getting back at him, you know, that you're like looking high and like in the press and everything to like, to like, okay, like, stop talking about him.
Right.
I don't think, I think, I don't think she's doing anything wrong.
But like, at some point, it starts to be like, okay, like, great.
You said the relationship was bad.
So like, we're moving on.
So 2022, a time of moving on for Lala.
Right.
And coming in at number nine, our real housewives of Orange County reboot and the final
firing of Kelly Dodd.
Yeah.
Honestly, it's what everyone was waiting for.
It was stressful.
right down to the wire because season, well, season 15 ended about a year ago.
And then there was no news for months.
And, you know, Kelly in her very loud way was telling everyone who would listen that she
wasn't being fired and she was going to come back for season 16.
And I think that was all in her head.
We love a humble house.
There was a time where it was like, wait, okay, so she's saying she's not
fired? Like, does she, has she been told that she's not fired? Because that would be, that would be
disappointing. So, yeah, when that news finally broke. And of course, when the rumors were confirmed
that Heather DeBrow would be returning, it was, it was a big moment. Because it finally felt like we could,
you know, breathe a sigh of relief after like a year of OC really being on the rocks.
Yeah. You know what I always think about after a housewife is fired? What would this current season of
whatever show it is be?
that person, that specific person.
So, like, I can't even imagine who would be going head to head
or what Kelly would be doing on this current season of OC.
And you know what?
Part of me would want to see it.
Part of me does not.
But the thing is...
But the thing is...
Exactly.
Most of me will never.
I think being realistic, I don't think Heather DeBrow would be back if Kelly was still
there.
So I think everything worked out the way it was supposed to.
Sorry, Bronwyn and Elizabeth Vargas that you weren't.
brought along for the ride.
Holy shit, until you just said Elizabeth Vargas,
like I forgot that person existed.
Girl, winter is so last season.
And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs.
You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sundress.
Those sandals you can wear all day and all night.
And you've had enough of shopping from your couch.
Done hoping it looks anything like.
like the picture when you tear up on that envelope.
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.
All new drinks are now at McDonald's,
with refreshers like the strawberry watermelon refresher
and the mango pineapple refresher with popping boba
to crafted sodas like the Spriteberry blast
with berry flavors and cold foam.
Who knew ice cold drinks could be so fine?
Try them all now at McDonald's.
Refreshers contain caffeine. Copyright 2026, the Coca-Cola Company.
Sprite is a registered trademark of the Coca-Cola Company.
Okay, number eight, we have Real Housewives of Dallas being put out to pasture.
It's currently on long-term hiatus with no plans for another season.
And I got to say, this season was a bumpy ride.
I think we all really enjoyed meeting and getting to know Tiffany Moon.
you know, they definitely had sort of a rough COVID season.
But I have mixed feelings about Dallas just being gone now.
I mean, I think they had a couple of really strong seasons.
They had a couple of less strong seasons.
But I, you know, I, for the most part, did enjoy it.
And so it's always a bittersweet when they decide rather than sort of figuring out how to make a show work
to just say, we're not going to do that right now.
And I'm okay with it, but, you know.
Yeah.
I agree where I obviously like Tiffany and I just like watching Housewives in general.
So it's like sad that we can't anymore.
But at the same time, I always think about this.
Your show has to be really fucking bad or something had to happen for them to literally not
bring it back.
That has only happened like one or two other times and one of them being like,
DC. And like that and no one ever talks about it again, whereas people are still like questioning Dallas
right now. But yeah, on to bigger and better. We already have a new country coming. Right. I think Dubai is,
you know, a big deal. And obviously, now that Miami is back and the sort of reboot Peacock portal
has been opened, you never know what is going to be in store for that avenue. You know, it's not
it's not the way it used to be where something can only come back on Bravo.
There's their options.
Right.
You really have to wonder, though, what actually is the final decision in that as opposed
to like recasting?
Because like, look at OC.
If I could have named any franchise that would actually get the boot after last season,
it would be OC.
But they did a cast shakeup.
So I don't know.
I feel like the door isn't fully closed, maybe.
I think the door is still.
jar, but I don't think anyone is like paying attention to it. I think maybe the door is a jar and maybe in
maybe in a few years it'll be opened. But you know, for now, it is what it is. It is what it is.
On to number seven, Danny and JL's baby drama on below deck. Below deck sailing yacht, which was
I think one of the best seasons of the year of any Bravo show. Absolutely. And I feel like I hate
one shows like that end because it's like no one's talking about specific sailing yacht right now.
Like they're all just talking about like below deck. I feel like no one is even remembering who Jail is until this moment.
I know. I do. I like, I like following Danny on Instagram because she, you know, has cute baby pictures and she seems like she is sort of rising above and living her best life.
But yeah, that was a, that was an intense season.
was so, you know, because we found out that Danny was pregnant in, you know, in real life.
And then we're watching the show unfold.
And it's like, wait, like, J.L. like, has to be the dad.
Like, looking at the timeline.
And it was never quite confirmed.
And his videos were so cringe at the time, like, or his interviews were hard.
Mm-hmm.
But that's such a great season.
And I think Captain Glenn, one of our favorite.
guests on the podcast.
Literally, if you want me to bring it up again, I will that he said he would hire me.
So still thinking about it.
If you're doing season three of sailing yacht and Barry's not there, a promise was broken.
Okay.
Number six, we have, I wanted to rate this higher, but then there were so many other things
to rate high.
It means in a list.
It's fine.
Right.
We're talking about it.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey premiere, punctuated by
this blow-up between Teresa and Jackie
about whether Teresa heard a rumor
or spread a rumor at the birthday party
and when the unsensored version of this argument
leaked online and you just hear Teresa
screaming the C word six times in a row
oh my God it was delicious.
If I heard Gio was doing Coke in the bathroom
My jaw dropped that episode, and it rarely does that while watching.
And, like, I remember I was like, oh, my God.
But Teresa's saying spread rumor and heard a rumor is basically equivalent to a housewife
apology.
So I'm sorry if that made you upset.
Right.
It's like you're using a different word.
The behavior was the same.
Like, I don't care what you call it.
Like.
And honestly, I think they are on somewhat good terms right now or.
I think they're okay.
Friendly.
I got to say, I was impressed with how they were able to get it together eventually.
I thought it was going to be sort of a season ending, not season ending, but like, you know,
I thought they were never going to be able to be cool again.
And, you know, it seems like they have gotten it together.
You know, season 12 is in the can just waiting to be released.
I know.
I've been like honestly counting down until, I'm like, we have, well, we have.
haven't gotten a trailer yet. We haven't gotten a trailer yet. Like, it's coming. It is, I don't know.
They're either going to do it. We literally last week of the year or like first week. It's going to be
one or the other. We all think that the show is going to premiere in February. So it has to be,
you know, it could be any time in the next few weeks, I feel like. Okay. I agree because we have
talked about this for so long and we heard February. But I don't know why I cannot remember which
housewife it was of New Jersey, like this past week. I saw on Instagram or something where they said,
she said early in the year. And for some reason, that just like hit me that it was like January.
So I'm going with January right now. Just factually, February is also early in the year.
I know, but it's like, I just like want it. All right. Number five is an important one. It's just
Kathy Hilton. Number five is Kathy Hilton. Yeah. It's been, it's hard to remember.
a new presence on the Bravo scene who had as much impact as Kathy.
I mean, we have, you know, great new housewives all the time.
But Kathy, man, she was a phenomenon.
And speaking of Kathy Hilton, news broke this week that she got what she wanted at slash deserves, which is more money.
She wasn't going to, you know, continue filming the show until she got paid more, which I strongly agree.
and she did.
So like, I feel like production knows it.
We all know it that she belongs on the show.
And like she was, I think, what people were most talking about.
Well, no.
We're mostly talking about Erica.
But then Kathy.
To me, it's the kind of thing where it's so, you cannot deny this season how much Kathy added to the group.
So it's like, unless she's asking for.
you know, a billion dollars, which I don't think she was.
But just give her the money.
It's a like, it's a fucking media corporation.
You have, you have the money somewhere.
And not only her being like funny in general, but she was also like a good friend, I think.
Like she was a good person to be on the show.
All the women got along with her.
Yeah.
And she was, she really engaged with everyone but didn't, you know, she didn't get too involved
in specifically like drama.
she didn't burn bridges with anyone.
And that's the perfect friend because she can,
she can kind of play off of anyone.
And I'm excited to see her back because we,
we love us some Kathy.
Yeah.
What was your favorite moment of hers from the season?
I think it's got to be who's hunky dory.
Because I want to,
there are so many, but, and I remember laughing out loud at a few,
but I want to say that one too, just because it was so innocent.
Also, her social media ineptitude.
is really fun.
You know, she's just so clueless with the Instagram live.
The moment where she was talking about they,
meaning the entire audience while she was on live,
like they won't know.

Okay, number four is a bit of a downer.
We have whatever happened with Roney this year.
It just went, it went south, and, you know, the reunion was canceled for the first time in forever.
There was no New York reunion.
and so far there hasn't been any, you know, any kind of news about what's happening next season.
There have been some super, like basically some fake news about who's getting fired, who's coming back,
all of this stuff, but they're not filming.
As far as we know, no casting decisions have been made.
And it kind of seems like nobody really is missing it that much at the moment, which feels wild to say.
I know. You know what this reminds me of.
Same thing with Dallas and like Tiffany Moon. We're always like, we need Tiffany Moon.
It's like when one kid does something in your class and the teacher's like, well, you all can't go out for recess until like so and so like confesses.
It's like why does everyone need to be penalized for one person's actions?
Yeah. I mean, I think this season wouldn't have been amazing no matter what.
but the whole, you know, sort of downfall of Ramona not being able to like keep racism out of her mouth with Ebony.
And there's, you know, there's reports of really horrible things being said.
And even some of what we saw on camera was really frustrating.
And yeah, it just feels like this thing where it's like nobody knows what to do with it.
And do we even want to touch that?
And I'll be really curious to see kind of how they pick up the pieces.
Because I'm assuming at some point in 2022, they're going to make a New York season happen.
Like, the show is not just getting canceled.
Like, there has to be some strategy.
Like, it's New York.
They're not getting rid of it.
No offense to Dallas.
Yeah.
And we've got, I mean, we've got girls' trip coming with Dorinda and with Jill.
So we'll see maybe if that is
going to feed into something, but, you know, a lot of questions.
To be honest, it's funny you say that because remember
Durinda this year even mentioned with Andy and everything that the door on
her is not closed.
So like Durinda really was taking a break and her book.
It even, she wrote that in it.
Like, so that might be to hold us over until maybe they actually do figure something
out and Durinda comes back.
Oh.
And tin, of course,
We know Tinsley is, you know, back in New York and single and all that stuff.
Here we are manifesting.
We'll see.
Okay.
Number three?
Number three.
What?
We're moving so quickly.
I know.
The drama that is Madison and Arod.
And I have to say that we didn't talk about it.
I specifically remember hearing it on Winter House and not mentioning it.
But when Austin refers to him as a douche person.
She's flirting with a douchebag baseball player.
I was like, awesome.
It's Alex Rodriguez, not like.
Yeah, the wildest thing about this whole thing is just that Alex Rodriguez is so many levels of celebrity higher than anybody on Southern Charm.
And that's not even a dig at the people on Southern Charm.
It's truly just an acknowledgement of how famous, how a.
list A. Rod is. I mean, remember, at the time he was engaged to Jennifer Lopez, and it just was this
this complete thing of like, what is happening? And all of a sudden it was like, you know, up in the air,
and we didn't know what was happening with A. Rod and J-Lo, and then they ended up fully breaking up.
And, you know, Madison doesn't want to say too much. And then she's, you know, posing with
Budweiser and all of this stuff. It was so messy, so sloppy. Um, and it, oh my God, that reunion was
a doozy. I was just going to say that reunion was, was fire because there actually were things
happening that we do not know about and like might not ever, but people tried to get them to
talk about it and it just wasn't happening. And fast forward to the end of the year and Madison
is engaged to someone else. Um, they're filming a season of Southern.
charm. We don't know kind of any, like what the vibe is going to be at all. It's so... Good for her. I'm glad
she's engaged and happy. I do have to say that Alex Rodriguez was when I was high school, college,
one of my number ones. Like, I no joke would make like Facebook statuses about like marrying him.
Oh, really? Yeah, like I was absolutely head over heels. I don't find him attractive at all.
I think in the past few years of him becoming more of like a businessman entrepreneur getting even more famous like stepping away from like actually being a baseball player.
He has gotten more like douchey, cock, cocky, but he's always been like that.
But like hot.
Like when he was wearing the Yankees uniform, you were more into it.
Those eyes.
Oh, I can get lost in them.
Fair enough.
Fair enough.
Okay.
Yeah. Okay, number two, we're getting down to the nitty gritty, and number two has to be all of Erica's drama.
All of it. From the beginning of the year, you know, she had filed for divorce on Election Day, of course, and then posted those texts in December.
But 2021 was just a mess of, you know, there's bankruptcy happening. The house is being listed. Tom has a conservator.
And then, you know, when the show finally premieres, we're kind of reliving it all, getting new information, and watching this performance from Erica with the mascara tears and the story about Tom and her son both flipping their cars.
And the whole cast has to react to all of this.
And then the four-part reunion.
I mean, Erica just, she had a year and we all watched and it was a lot.
And I'm thinking of.
It was a lot.
I mean, it is still occurring and real life.
And, but it did give us what we wanted to see, Housewives edition, if that makes sense.
Like, it's just, and she's already, they're filming, she's on next season of Beverly Hills.
So it's like, she's not going anywhere.
I mean, just that one moment of Tom's house has broken into and Tom confronted the burglar and he had to have eye surgery.
Like that, just even that one moment is so iconic.
And there was just, there was so much happening this year.
Head to shop.coms and go to our problem section and we have it on a pillow, our storytime pillow.
A small plug right there.
It's honestly wonderful.
But yeah, that is a huge TBD of what is going to happen.
As is number one.
Number one, drum roll.
We have the arrest of Miss Jennifer Shaw.
And honestly, let's not forget Stu Chains.
Stuart Smith and Jennifer Shaw.
The downfall.
That day when that news broke was, it was like surreal.
I felt like my phone was going to explode because there was just, you know, there was news coming out.
And, you know, I was trying to make jokes about it.
And then people were texting me about it.
And then, you know, next thing you know, it's two days later.
And I'm on the arraignment phone call when she, and then it is overloaded because too many
bravo-holyks are listening in.
I mean, that week, I don't, I can't think of anything else that has felt like that
where it was like, it was, we're on the ground while it was happening, watching her be escorted
out of the courthouse with those box braids.
I mean, and then it kind of has been full circle the last few weeks getting to relive that time on the show and getting all that footage from the van when the women were finding out about what was happening and, you know, the feds storming the beauty lab and laser parking lot.
You just can't, you can't make something like that up.
And I feel like that was one of those moments where people who don't watch housewives or don't watch a lot of reality TV are like, oh, they just go to date.
dinner and fight and like blah blah blah and it's like yes but no they get arrested on television so much
more than that and i don't know how anyone could watch a scene like that and not you know not be moved
by it i certainly wasn't like moved by it but i was enjoying it because i remember even we were
recapping that actual episode like it was crazy that they showed some of the stuff that they showed
i i i still can't believe it the trailer was like a
a trailer for like the Matrix, no joke.
And the most fun part about this is that we're still recapping it because this season is
currently happening.
I know.
And they have a reunion to film.
You know, it's going to be.
A doozy.
Well, and don't, let's not forget, Ms. Shaw's trial is starting in a couple months.
And so, you know, the, the hits are going to keep coming.
It's in February, which better not interfere if New Jersey does come.
I mean, I don't think the trial is going to be happening at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
So, unfortunately.
Honestly, if Bravo's ratings are down, they might do whatever they need to.
And I would support that wholeheartedly.
Totally.
I don't think there was any question, though, that that needed to be number one.
Erica, I feel like was a close second.
But just the fact that there are criminal charges against Jen and she's facing, you know,
potentially a lot of prison time.
It's, you know, got to take the cake.
And that it was filmed.
Like, it's just chef's kiss that it was filmed.
Oh, well, what a year.
