Mention It All - The Bravo Couples Who Didn’t Make It To 2025
Episode Date: January 6, 2025It’s a new year, and Dylan is back from his holiday break ready to dive back into all things Bravo. He starts with his thoughts on whether we need an extended Bravo break over the holidays, before u...npacking the biggest story he missed (Paige and Craig are no longer together), and combating a popular social media narrative about their split. From there, he addresses an RHOP breakup, and why Mia’s real-life drama is actually maybe getting a little too real for Real Housewives. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Mention It All
A Bravo by Betches podcast
We don't say that
But now we said it
With me, Dylan Hafer
We'll go check me both
Hey everyone
Welcome back to the
Mention at All podcast
And happy new year
From me and mine
To you and yours
I hope everyone had a
A wonderful
splendid two week break
Maybe not a break from work
maybe not a break from whatever else is going on in your life, but I know you all took a break
from listening to mention it all for two weeks because I took a break from recording,
mentioned it all for two weeks. And look, did I miss you all? Did I miss, you know,
sitting down in the stew with me, myself, and all of you, and chit-chatting about all things,
Bravo? Of course I did. But was it needed? Was it a welcome, you know, little break from this
Bravo hamster wheel that we are all on 24-7, 365.
I gotta be honest, it was a nice break.
People ask me a lot of the time
if I still like watching Bravo
because I do it for my job
and I've done it for such a long time and watch.
Yes, I still like watching Bravo.
Of course.
If I was, if you guys were all listening to this podcast
three times a week and I fucking hated this,
I think you would be able to tell.
Obviously, there are moments when I'm annoyed with something or when I'm not particularly
enjoying a specific show.
And, you know, I try to be, I'm honest.
I don't try to be honest.
I am honest.
But I also, like, you know, I'm not going to come out here and be like fucking
your everyday, like, well, another episode of Housewives.
But for the most part, yes, I still enjoy it.
But this was a two-week cleanse that was very needed.
I went home to St. Louis, Missouri for like nine days.
None of my family watches Bravo.
So if I'm home, unless I say, hey, guys, let's sit down on the couch and watch an episode of this show that you don't like.
I'm not watching Bravo when I'm home.
And I got to be honest, it's a little bit refreshing.
The times that it does make me feel crazy, though, are when there is like news popping off or when there is a meme happening or something online.
and I truly look around and I'm like, who on earth can I speak to about this right now?
Because normally, I have an outlet three times a week where, you know, plenty of people in my
everyday life watch Bravo talk about it, think about it all the time, post about it, whatever.
But at the very least, I know that I have you guys waiting Monday, Wednesday, Thursday,
and I come in here and I can yop about whatever I want.
When I'm home, I'm literally looking around and I'm like, nobody here knows about Craig
on over. Not one person. And if I try to bring it up, if I try to bring it up, and this I feel like,
I'm sure other people can relate to this. It's a slippery slope between bringing it up and accepting
that people don't understand it, and then maybe trying to explain it, and then you realize that you
are like knee-deep in lore, and you could go all the way up to neck-deep if you wanted to, but you know
that nobody really cares. And that's the problem. Is that you
There's that, like, trying to explain something in the Bravo lore universe to somebody who
doesn't know anything about it, it just doesn't hit the same because, like, unless somebody
really gets bit with that bug, you know that you are talking to somebody whose eyes have glazed
over, whose ears have glazed over, and they're like, I don't know who any of these people are.
Can we talk about Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni?
I don't give a fuck about Mia Thornton and ink.
Which, like, do I give a fuck about Mia Thornton and ink?
That actually might be debatable.
We'll talk about Potomac in a few minutes.
Because that is the only Housewives show that we have had in the past, like, three weeks.
This was a holiday Housewives break, a holiday Bravo break.
I was enjoying my time off, but I will say, Bravo.
I think we need to rethink.
for next year, before the holidays next year, this year, God, 2025, what a year.
I think we need to reevaluate taking two full weeks off of every show over the holidays.
Because while I enjoyed not watching, not keeping up with Bravo for a week or so, there was
nothing to keep up with.
Was I going to just pick a random episode and rewatch it?
I mean, that's a great pastime, but it doesn't have that same urgency.
And I understand you're not going to release an episode of Real House Stories of Salt Lake City on Christmas Day.
Sure.
You know, people are spending time with their loved ones.
People are hauling out the holly and decking the halls and, you know, going to church, I think some people go to church on Christmas.
That's Christmas Eve, maybe.
You're roasting a turkey.
You're watching Beyonce perform on the Netflix Christmas Day games.
You're doing a puzzle.
You're going to bed early.
I get it.
Christmas Day feels sacred in a way.
Of course, that's if you celebrate Christmas.
If you don't celebrate Christmas,
I'm so sorry for these two weeks
that you had to endure with no Bravo,
because that's just, like, cruel.
But New Year's Day?
Okay, so no episode on New Year's Eve.
That I understand.
That was a Tuesday night.
People are out and about.
It was pouring down rain in New York City,
truly not the vibe I want on New Year's Eve in New York City.
pouring down rain. Like, can we get a little snow? It's snowing today, actually. As I sit down to record this,
I haven't been outside. I hope it's a winter wonderland. But New Year's Day at 9 p.m. Nobody is busy at 9 p.m.
On New Year's Day. Nobody is like out painting the town red and partying. You know what I'm doing on
New Year's Day? I am rotting in the bed. I am sitting on the couch. I am ordering
food. I am not leaving the house unless I need to like, you know, go to CVS and buy more snacks.
Put an episode of Real Houseways of Salt Lake City on January 1st. The ratings would be through the roof.
There is nothing going on on January 1st that would preclude us from watching an episode of TV.
And, you know, we should maybe put episodes in between so then we have something to catch up on.
I want enough episodes to have piled up in my queue so that on New Year's Eve, I can sit on the couch and mindlessly just have my peacock cue auto playing.
And we had nothing.
So Potomac was back last night.
We're going to talk about it a little bit.
You know, everything else is back this week.
Beverly Hills is back.
Salt Lake City is back.
Southern Charm actually was back last week.
That was the one saving grace.
waking up last Friday and having a Southern Charm episode
like hot and ready like a Little Caesar's Pizza in the peacock queue,
that was a godsend.
And especially given the news that we had last week.
So good, so good.

Last week, I was glad to still be on my break, but it was a little tough that I had to wait
so long to talk about the breakup of Page de Sorboe and Craig Conover.
This news has been out for a week, and it felt very strange that I've posted about it
on social media.
You know, I've talked about it to, you know, lots of loved ones, you know, because it's an important topic.
I haven't spoken about it.
And when I listened to the Giggly Squad episode where Paige shared this news, first of all, I was glad that she was able to share this in a forum that she clearly felt as comfortable as possible.
I thought that she and Hannah had a nice conversation.
it felt like she was really clear-eyed about sharing this update.
And obviously she said that they've been broken up for a while.
So it's not like this was some emotionally charged, you know,
I just sent the breakup text and now I'm going to hit the microphone.
It's not like when Tamara Judge announced to the world that she's on the autism spectrum 15 minutes after her therapist mentioned it.
That's the wrong way to handle, like, a personal update.
I think Paige did a good job with this.
It's interesting in the sense that, like,
like it was Page's platform and page sharing the news and not like a,
not any kind of like shared statement or joint Instagram posts.
I mean, Craig has kind of kept it quiet.
I don't know if there's been like a pillows and beer episode to correspond.
If there is, it hasn't been making waves.
But page sharing this news and kicking off the new year, well, I guess ending the old year,
because this was on December 30th.
But I'm glad that she shared it
because there have been lots of rumors
over the last few months
and not posting together
and not spending enough time in Charleston
and yada, yada, yada.
The thing when you have a relationship like this,
when both people are on reality TV
and obviously this relationship
has been documented on like three or four
different Bravo shows,
so there's going to be a lot of, you know,
eyeballs on it.
people have so many opinions about every aspect. And I think that what Paige was saying in this podcast
episode is like the fact that they both kind of realized that they weren't in the same place,
they weren't on the same page about sort of what they want and what they need out of a
relationship. And this is not news to us. And I think because this is not news to us,
I saw a lot of people responding to this in a way that I felt was like sort of ungenerous
that the idea that Craig wanting kids sooner and wanting to get married and wanting to settle down
and wanting Paige to move to Charleston and page not being on the same page,
on the same wavelength about all of that stuff,
that that was somehow something that Page had done wrong
or something that was deceitful somehow
or something that I saw people saying
that I kind of hit back on
was the idea that Paige had wasted Craig's time,
which just to me isn't,
isn't like the way that you talk about a relationship
that obviously had a lot of positive moments
that lasted very,
for three years between two grown-ass consenting adults,
you can't, somebody can't waste three years of your time
when you're also choosing to be in that situation repeatedly.
And I think that obviously there were probably times
when Craig was in that relationship and thinking,
okay, like, we're staying in this so that hopefully we will eventually be
on the same wavelength about this stuff.
And the thing is like, okay, that didn't happen.
The relationship ended and they want different things.
But that doesn't mean that, you know, Paige didn't lie to him and say, you know, by June 1st,
2024, I'll be ready to have a baby.
She was working through her feelings about the same stuff that he was working through
his feelings about.
And obviously, like, you could say that it's, you know,
too bad that it took them three years to realize that they weren't meant to be.
But I just, I just think that's like a, it's such a glass, half-empty way to look at a relationship
that I think objectively was pretty positive for the most part.
Clearly, I mean, from a, this is cynical, but from a business standpoint, from a career standpoint,
I think they both benefited immensely from being in this relationship with each other.
I mean, they were the JFK and Jackie O of Bravo.
I mean, I'm exaggerating a little bit.
But they, I mean, they were like main character couple energy.
They have both done super well for themselves.
They've had career opportunities.
They've obviously been, you know, crossing over on each other's shows for the last
couple of seasons each.
We're going to, I'm sure, see more of Craig on Summerhouse coming up this next month
that it's premiering.
I'm very curious to see sort of how that.
plays out. Page was just on Southern Charm last week. But like beyond this sort of career
implications, I just think as somebody who's single, I'll say this. I think it is unfortunate if you're
unable to look at any relationship and find value beyond just like, is this the person you're
going to marry and have kids with and spend the rest of your life with. Because obviously,
we know that that's something that Craig is looking for, but the fact that he didn't ultimately
find it with Paige doesn't mean that that relationship held no value. And that's something
where it's like, just be happy for what happened. You know, don't, don't cry because it's over.
I think they're both okay. I mean, I'm sure that there are, you know, feelings and sadness and
whatever. And watching last week's episode of Southern Charm, it is kind of, it's like
bittersweet to see their scenes together now, knowing that the ultimate outcome of that is that
they are breaking up. Like, Craig making the decision to freeze his sperm and telling Paige about it
and Paige's response kind of being like, what the fuck are you talking about? Now, part of that is that
usually you think of the woman being the one that's more doing that like, you know,
fertility extension, you know, freezing your eggs, all of that. But like, also just the fact
that that's not something that Page is really like actively thinking about and that the timeline
is different. And, and that, you know, they both have so much going on. And she doesn't want to
leave New York and she doesn't want to, you know, X, Y, Z. But like, it feels like this was a little bit of an
inevitable outcome. But I just, I would, I would encourage people to be a little more positive about it
because three years is a long time. And I think that, I don't think anybody's time was wasted.
I don't know. That's just my, my little two cents in the relationship corner. I think that,
I think that there's no villain in this situation. And I, our good friend Gibson Johns was saying
that one of his takeaways from this is that people should,
remember and be aware that like not everything that happens, just because people are on reality TV
or in the Bravo universe, not everything that happens is a scandal. Not everything that happens is
scandival and salacious and somebody's the villain and somebody's the hero and it needs to be a
season long storyline. I don't think this is one of those situations. Now, the thing that I am
kind of curious about, Southern Charm is obviously airing right now. Summerhouse is
premiering next month.
We know that this breakup happened sometime, probably in the fall.
Are we going to see on Summerhouse any kind of breakup conversation happening?
This was something, you know, usually they finished filming around Labor Day based on the timeline.
It seems unlikely that they broke up during filming for Summerhouse.
So then the question is, was this the kind of.
thing like Lindsay and Carl last year that they picked up filming for, they picked up cameras,
they sent a crew to cover it all. If I had to guess, I would say probably not.
First of all, because it wasn't necessarily as, like, dramatic as a Lindsay and Carl situation,
but also because I'm not sure that Paige, if this was Paige's decision, I'm not sure that
she would have texted production.
I'm not sure that she, because that's the thing.
Somebody has to be putting in the effort to make that happen.
And I think we're going to, I'm sure we'll see them having, you know, more difficult conversations,
but it strikes me as unlikely that there's going to be like, you know, an October
scene where Craig comes to her apartment and she breaks the news to him.
Also, he's not in the summer house cast.
Why would you want to do that?
I guess it's because it's like good for good for business.
That part does feel bleak, I gotta say.

slash college PC. Oh, this was like a fun little thing. So it's award season right now, obviously. The Golden Globes were last night.
I watched. I had a good time. I thought, I thought mostly it was a pretty good show. Not a lot of, not a lot of Bravo crossover.
But I did love to find out in the last week or so that Cynthia Arrivo, Elfaba herself, is a bravo girlie.
She watches real housewives. This actually feels a little surprising,
Because her personal brand, I would say, skews a little bit more serious, a little bit more intense and earnest.
And she seems like somebody who I would expect her to be watching, frankly, a little bit more highbrow programming.
And, you know, we don't talk about guilty pleasures here.
I don't think Real Housewives is trash TV.
I think that that is a mischaracterization and a minimization of everything that we stand for here.
But I just was not expecting Cynthia Arrivo to throw out that she wants Nini Leaks to come back to Real Housewives of Atlanta.
The woman has taste, which we knew.
But like in this direction, she has taste too.
So she said, she told our friend Lauren Herbert from Access Hollywood, they spoke at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
And she told Lauren that she is a Potomac and Atlanta girly, which that feels.
Correct. She misses Candice on Real House House of Potomac as well, but she understands why she's not there. That is something I've talked about with a couple people recently that like this season of Potomac does, I am missing Candace. And I'm, I'm very glad that she is off living her new mommy journey in private. I think that that probably is the healthiest thing for her. But like, she's got to come back someday, right?
just we're missing that like there's that like extra little ingredient, that spice, that
shade, that, that, the word smithery that we're missing this season on Potomac.
And I think that Candace is sort of where we lost that.
But she also, Cynthia said that she's friends with Bozma, St. John, who is, of course,
Unreal Housewives of Beverly Hills this season.
And so it's been fun for her to see her kind of like in that new light too.
I love finding out.
There's nothing like finding out
that a celebrity who you didn't know
was a Bravo person
is watching the same television programs as us.
And Cynthia, open invitation,
maybe for Wicked Part 2,
maybe we can sit down and chat
about all things housewives,
but truly open invite,
come to the studio.
We can hold space for you
whenever you are available, obviously.
But I guess that's a good,
good place to talk about Potomac this season because they are the only show, the only housewives show
anyway, that has been feeding us at all the last two weeks. They only took one week off, whereas
all the other shows except like Southern Charm took two weeks off. So I want to give them their
credit for that, for giving us literally some crumb of anything to talk about. They're on this trip to
Panama right now. I think that this season of Potomac is not bad, but I think that it is,
like, it feels like it's operating at like a B, B minus kind of level where it's like,
okay, there's some stuff going on.
There's some moments.
There's some things that I'm interested in.
There's some people that are putting in the work.
But the overall composition isn't coming together into like a golden globe worthy package.
You know, this isn't, it's not a best picture nominee.
which, you know, I guess that the bar could be lower.
But this trip to Panama, I feel like it is being sort of,
it's being a little bit overtaken by what's going on with Mia back home.
And this whole situation with Mia and Gordon this season,
with Gordon's kind of unpredictable behavior,
I think the word that they're using on the show is his manic, you know,
episodes, mania.
It's making it hard to sort of tune into anything else and just kind of like enjoy what's going on
because it feels like this darkness that is kind of looming over everything else that's
happening and watching this on this trip to Panama where Mia has left the kids with the
nanny.
She has full custody.
Remember, she leaves the kids with the nanny.
And then she finds out that Gordon has taken the kids.
picked them up from the nanny that they were supposed to be staying with,
and then apparently dropped them off somewhere else with somebody who used to be their nanny
or they are sort of like a family friend.
I think Mia says that she was, she sort of stood in as the mother of the bride when they got
married because her mom was incarcerated.
It's, it's, there's a lot of, you know, layers going into this situation.
But then for hours, Mia is unable to.
to get in contact with Gordon, with the woman who she thinks is now watching the kids,
which was not her original plan.
And of course, she's in a foreign country.
She's, you know, many hours away freaking out that she doesn't 100% know where her kids are
and who is responsible for them and kind of what Gordon's whole deal is right now and what
mental state he's in.
And like this is the kind of drama where I think it's almost a little too real to be like a good housewife storyline.
And all of this sort of back and forth with what's happening with Mia and her relationship with Inc and how Gordon is coping or failing to cope with this or unable to cope with this and how it might be affecting the kids and all of that.
It feels like we are sort of every week being brought back to this place of just like,
damn, this seems really not good.
And I don't think it's Mia's fault, or at least certainly not her fault entirely.
Like, this is just a situation that is not good.
And I was so kind of interested to see last week, Mia gave a statement to the Shade Room.
basically confirming that she and Ink have split up.
She said, this is a quote,
Ink is my best friend and perfect in so many ways,
but I have decided to focus on my children
and maintaining a healthy co-parenting relationship with their father.
She also posted, I think on New Year's Day,
she posted a selfie with Gordon.
They're both smiling.
And she said, New Year, New Beginnings, you know, Mom and Dad.
And this to me,
I got to be honest, I was really happy to see this.
And not maybe for the reason you think, because I saw people covering this, reporting on this, sharing this, as if it was an announcement that she and Gordon were like back together.
And to me, that's not what this says at all.
My reading of this, and I guess what I hope this means is that she's basically acknowledging that right now, this situation,
with her kids and with figuring out how to navigate the situation with Gordon is requiring
all of her focus.
At least all of her focus in the personal life department.
And, you know, it sucks that sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too, that maybe,
maybe this relationship with ink is just on pause.
Maybe they'll, you know, they have a long history already.
Maybe there's, you know, greener pastures in the future for them once sort of some other things are settled.
Or maybe they'll never be in a relationship again.
I don't know.
That's not really my concern at this point.
But it does seem during this season, watching Mia during filming, it feels like, unfortunately for her, probably not the right time to be diving feet first into a new relationship.
because the stuff with Gordon is clearly so fraught
that it's just like,
I don't know.
I don't know if this is,
if this is the right conditions for this to thrive.
And especially when you have these young kids involved,
it just is like, it's kind of heartbreaking.
And my heart breaks for her a little bit because I,
I hate to see somebody sort of dealing with a situation that is kind of,
zapping their ability to do anything else.
But at the end of the day, you got to do what you've got to do for the kids.
And I don't know exactly what that means for her relationship with Gordon.
If they're able to co-parent well, that seems like the ultimate goal.
But, man, watching her in Panama kind of try to be okay and try to sort of like, you know,
she didn't share everything that was going on with the situation at first.
And so some people didn't know.
And then, you know, like Ashley and just all finding out in there like, wait,
you're dealing with what?
Ashley's like, my ass would have been on the plane back.
Because I can't, I can't not know that my kids are safe.
And I don't think that's like a mom-shamed thing of Mia.
I just think it's like, damn, that's a lot to go through.
But then on the flip side of that, the way that she is handling the situation with Chazelle's kids.
Girl.
Mia.
please say you're sorry, keep it moving, and don't act like you don't understand the issue here.
Because this is the thing where she had brought up earlier in the season last year when they were in the Dominican Republic that Chazelle had caught one of her daughters like sneaking a boy into the house.
But on social media, you make everything look so perfect.
And Jiselle, I actually loved the way that she handled this, this episode, because I feel like she bided her time, she bit her tongue, and then she brought it up.
And her saying, for me, when my daughters do something that's like standard teenage tomfoolery,
first of all, that's part for the course.
Second of all, I can deal with that however I want to.
But if you come on to my social media and I choose to portray my daughters as perfect angels,
they're fucking perfect angels, okay?
It's so weird to me
In 2024 when they're filming this
To act like it's disingenuous
To use your Instagram as like a highlight reel
Or like a
Like a you know
Best moments from your life
It's like that's what Instagram is
What Giselle is supposed to be out here on Instagram
For like I don't know
700,000 followers being like
Man my daughter was a real piece of work today
She did bad on a test
she pissed me off.
That's not what social media is.
That would be so weird.
And like, unfair to her daughters.
Like, it just is so crazy to me that Mia is like,
I know that Mia's kids are younger,
so like she hasn't necessarily dealt with situations like this yet.
But it's like, why are you out here acting like it's weird for somebody to not like post about their kids mistakes?
On Instagram.
Ugh.
So strange.
And it's hard because it's like,
Giselle says this earlier in the episode.
She's like, we're rooting for you.
Like, you're going through all this.
We want you to be okay.
But then when you're out here like trying to weirdly like drag my kids,
suddenly I'm not rooting for you.
And I feel like this season,
Mia is, it's kind of like the one step forward,
two steps back thing where it's like,
Mia could be having a great season if she was just
handling a couple things differently.
And by great, I mean, like, she would be getting a lot of sympathy.
People would be really, like, on her side.
And I'm totally on her side in terms of, like, wanting that situation with Gordon and
the kids to be okay.
But I'm not on her side in terms of, like, how she's handling this other stuff.
And the whole Jacqueline thing.
I mean, Jacqueline, still claiming that showing up to Karen's, like, Love Lagoon Party
with the balloons, I mean, like, these are for your eight.
charges.
That was not a positive thing.
Also, you've met Karen.
Whether or not you meant it in a positive way,
you know that she's going to fucking hate that.
And it is weird to me, like,
the fact that Jacqueline has still never been a housewife,
but the amount of kind of oxygen she gets on this show,
it's a little weird.
It's a little weird.
And I still feel like I'm not getting enough from Kearnah.
I don't know. I'm enjoying Wendy though. I think Wendy's having a good season. I think Karen is, um,
she's doing her best. Karen saying that she's pressing charges on Kiarna for trespassing. Please.
