Girl, winter is so last season.
And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs.
You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sundress.
Those sandals you can wear all day and all night.
And you've had enough of shopping from your couch.
Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope.
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.
Betch's media presents.
Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All.
A Bravo by Betcha's podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With Dylan Hafer.
Who don't check me, boo?
And Barry Rosenfeld.
I need to start drinking alcohol.
Now go to sleep week.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention at All podcast.
I'm Dylan Hafer.
And I'm Barry Rosenfeld.
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.
I feel like we're both a little husky today in the voice.
Mine has not gone away.
I'm just going to record the entire podcast down here.
Like this.
Wait, speaking of that.
We're talking about Shaz.
Yeah, we're talking about Shaz, but also, since we're on the topic of our voices,
I have been practicing Ariana Grande's whistle tone for like a week.
You know, and she's like, ah, that was actually really good.
but like I can't do it.
You can't.
Yeah.
Well.
Practice they say makes perfect, but in this case does not.
There are like some things that are like a human ability that like others just don't have.
Like I don't have that ability.
I mean, I'm not going to tell you.
Maybe like dream it, achieve it, believe it, whatever.
So that's what I did this weekend.
No.
Okay.
No.
I had a great weekend with friends.
It was great weather.
Yeah, it was like, I feel like now, I hate saying like, oh, the pandemic's over.
It's like, it's never over.
It's just, you know, it's just not what it was.
We're not in lockdown, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
But like now that we've all been like, me and my friends have all been, like, vaccinated and we've been like careful, we're all like so excited to be like hanging out again.
So it feels like old times.
And then I'm like, what happened this last year?
It feels like a little too much plans, too.
too much going on.
Like I,
yeah,
I know I like was watching.
I went to a bridal shower on Saturday.
It was in Connecticut,
so I had to like take the train.
It was the whole thing.
And then on Sunday I like didn't make any plans because like I knew I was going to be
hung over.
I had to get some work done.
Like it was the whole thing.
And I'm like watching Instagram stories at like 5 p.m.
on Sunday.
And I'm just like,
how are you all not exhausted?
Like you have to work in the morning.
Seriously.
But how sad is it now that we have to make a day to not have plans to recover from our plans?
I'm like, that's, that's, if you had told me, if you told me like a year ago that I would be tired of having plans, you know, no, I do love having plans.
I'm, we're so fortunate that we are, you know, like vaccinating and get to see people.
But yeah, I also, I had, I've come to cherish my alone time.
Yeah.
Um, okay.
We, okay.
today on Hulu came out
the housewife and the hustler
documentary about
one Erica Girardi and Tom Girardi
I think we're going to watch it and talk
about it on tomorrow's episode
I can't wait, I've heard it's juicy
Well so it's funny because
Dylan had literally just asked me
if I watched it and I was like wait
I literally just saw the commercial for the first time
ever last week how I sometimes
need more time. They cranked it out fast yeah
Yeah, yeah I'm used to
knowing about things like a year in advance and they were like, here, we made a documentary. It
comes out next week. Um, so we're going to watch that today and we can talk about it tomorrow.
Today we're recapping Shows of Sunset. Um, I'm, I'm into this season. I'm getting into it.
The, the Palm Springs trip was like, I felt a little bit unsettled. Like I wasn't quite like,
it like, it like, I wasn't quite ready to get into it. But this episode was so interesting. And I love
that we're getting like I feel like the the resa and mj dynamic is so much more interesting this season than it was last season because last season they just like weren't friends
well now now there's this like weird back and forth
and what also I feel like we're like not getting yet
and each episode I'm like oh yeah
whenever they show Adam we're forgetting that like
MJ and Adam still have not like
really talked or settled things
or have been in the same room
so it's almost like the same on each end
like with their significant others
they're not getting along with each other's opposites
like opposites each other's significant others
so it's like
each other's opposite.
And motions.
Like, yeah, whatever.
Can you tell me we're both single without each other's opposites?
You know, opposites do attract, as Paul Abdul once said.
But yeah, so it's interesting.
We are back from Palm Springs.
And there's a lot of different, kind of like picking up the pieces going on.
We see Gigi and Destiny go over to Reza's house.
They're having some drinks in the backyard.
And Gigi, I think rightfully so, is mad at Reza for the,
way he left Palm Springs.
And that basically Mike
threw out there that Reza told him that
Golmessa made the spoof messages, which I never want to hear
about again.
And then Reza flipped out and essentially just left.
And Gigi's like, yo, what the fuck?
Like, I don't trust you like that.
So the fact that you, because of all the stuff that's happened in the
past, so the fact that you just like dipped out the second
after this accusation was thrown out there, like,
that doesn't make me.
feel good about where we're at with our friendship.
Right. And of course, we love the simultaneous conversation.
So now we have Mike and MJ talking and like,
they're little, they're a little, you know, seeing.
But it's just, it's one of those situations.
Like I told you like, like there's so much going on,
even though it's such like a, even though there's not a lot going on in this
situation, it's just very like weird how I'm sorry to say,
you know, age is just a number, but they are a bit older.
Like they're, they're not like young, you know,
kids anymore. So it's weird how they have these arguments and fights and they can't just like talk
about it. They really do like explode and leave wherever they are. Even the past few years is just how
this group handles things. And it's it's like weird at this point. It was in in the episode at
some point I can't remember when Mercedes made a comment about how she lost a lot of brain cells
in college and I'm like sweetheart. That was like 25 years ago. She did say that and I'm like yeah.
They're not, this isn't, they're not like 28.
Like, they're in their 40s.
Yeah, but I do have to say I was a little taken back.
This seemed very calculated when Reza thought he was in a good place, which he is with MJ.
And he was like, talking out, we can't.
He's, you know, eventually going to meet Shams and Gigi was like, the way she said it,
she's like, oh, you're not meeting Shams.
And kind of just like threw it out there.
Yeah.
It's a strange.
It's hard because, like, I feel for Reza because I understand how much he wants to be fully a part of MJ's life again.
Yeah.
And that includes meeting Shams.
But at the same time, I think he's being a little bit unrealistic.
And, you know, he knows that they're not on a good page with Tommy.
He knows that the restraining order is in place.
So for him to act so shocked that MJ isn't just going to, like, throw those.
issues out the door. It's like, I don't, Reza's saying that his whole, you know, good times with
MJ and Palm Springs is all bullshit because she won't let him meet Shams. And I don't think that's true.
I think, I think MJ really does want to be on a good page with him. But unfortunately,
because of the other factors in the situation right now meeting, meeting her child is off the table.
So I think, I think MJ's in a really tough spot with Reza. And I think it's a little unfair of him
to just say, oh, like, it was all bullshit because you won't let me meet your baby.
Well, I also think he was very much taken back because of how he found out.
You know what I mean?
Right.
Like for for Gigi to be like the messenger between MJ and Reza is like, you know, you're in a rough spot.
That was not her place to say that.
And also that he was obviously mad because he found out that means you told Gigi that,
but you didn't tell me that, you know, like, and that and we thought we were in a good place,
but you didn't tell me the most important part.
Reza felt like he was getting a little bit more like mixed signals,
whereas from what MJ told Gigi, it's just like a red light fully.

Well, we see Nima and MJGO painting together,
which I love that they're, you know,
expressing their artistic selves.
This was maybe a little less exciting
than the naked painting on Roney,
but I'll take it.
Although Nima did request it.
True.
Okay, but so Nima is like a little bit,
he's talking about his relationship with Gonesa.
And he's basically, he seems to think it's like weird and annoying that she's not acting like everything is just normal between the two of them.
And I feel like MJ is actually, she seems to be in a good spot with Gigi right now.
Because she's basically being like, didn't you, didn't you like turn her down in Hawaii?
And like that was last year.
And he's like, yeah, but we were good since then.
And I think Nima is just a little bit naive about how this relationship is working out.
Totally. And I feel like Golnessa legitimately doesn't even know when like Nima's in a room.
Like she's way, she is so over it that it's like not, it's kind of embarrassing on his part.
Like she, they're not, there's nothing there.
Like, Gigi has other priorities.
She has Elijah.
Like, Nima doesn't mean anything to her.
And he, he like, I don't know.
I just think he's not getting it.
And I don't know still as a viewer don't know what he wants from her.
I'm like, do you want to be friends?
Do you want to date her?
Like what's happening?
I don't, okay, I don't think he wants to date her.
I don't think that's part of it at all.
But I think the issue is that like he thinks that, okay, so there's some history of whatever, whatever happened in Hawaii.
Who knows?
He is one of those guys who's like, okay, like, it didn't work out.
But like, we're still friends.
And like, just because they don't hate each other's guts doesn't mean that Gigi doesn't have a right to like want some space or need some time kind of away from that friendship.
Like I've been in a situation like that where, you know, like, I'm like seeing someone and they're like, I think we should just be friends.
And like just because I say yes to that doesn't mean that I want to like, doesn't mean that I want to like come over and have a movie night the next day as friends.
Yeah, like the term friends is used very loosely in that type of situation.
Like when I say I want to be friends, that means like when we see each other, we'll just say, hey, what's up?
Like, we're not hanging out.
You can be cordial.
You can have like a.
pleasant relationship without being like besties.
Yeah, I think that's what this is.
Like, I can't see Nima and Gigi doing the painting scene down the-l.
Like, that's just not going to happen.
And, like, that's not what this is.
But-
Gigi would be, like, miserable if she was there with Nima.
Wait, but we also met Nima's baby little sister, which was like a nice scene.
Yeah.
That was nice.
So she's in college.
She doesn't know, like, what she wants to change her major.
she doesn't know what she wants to do.
Nima tells her that it's okay
because now he's decided
he wants to be a director.
I'm like, okay.
Sure.
Nima.
He's like in one day,
I will own my own media company.
And listen, we're not,
he can do that.
We're not putting him down.
But I feel like he,
Nima and Mike are like in a contest
to see like who can get us to roll our eyes more
while we're watching this show
because it's like Mike,
it's like every single season.
there's a cheating scandal, a sexting scandal, a whatever, whatever.
And then, you know, Mike had a shoe line.
Mike, I don't think you watched this yet.
Mike had the shoe company.
Mike and Nima, like, are constantly coming out with these new business concepts.
And it's like, oh my God, I can't do it anymore.
And Nima, at one point, he said last night, too, he was going to be a lawyer.
And then all of a sudden he was like, can you imagine me in front of a judge?
And I was like, Nima, that's like what a large part of being a lawyer like consists of.
So did you not know that going into it?
he was like me in front of a judge no way maybe by the time he's like 45 he'll find his calling in
life there's nothing wrong with taking taking a minute to figure it out um I was I was so
pleased that we got to see Vita this episode I don't think we've seen her yet this season
and I like that they just give her a confessional immediately like the first second she's on
screen we see her talking about and it's like okay sure go for it guys I've been waiting for
this my Tommy Tommy had a good line
this episode when he comes out
and MJ's like, oh, you look nice.
And he goes, yeah, anti-depressant blue.
You love Tommy.
I do, but I think it's really nice
that there even Vita's in a good place
with MJ and Tommy too.
She's coming to stay with them.
Even MJ was like, we used to for her birthday,
just meet at a restaurant, kiss, say hello and leave.
And now she's staying the weekend.
And it's like, Vita June.
We missed you.
Very much so.
It is interesting, like the way,
sort of like having grandkids and stuff like that sort of changes the relationship because
I mean they show a whole montage of all the like kind of messed up shit that Vita said to her
daughter in the past and clearly there are still some wounds there like MJ is not fully over
all the stuff that her mom sent her in the past and I kind of feel like she probably never will be
because that when your parents says stuff like that to you it really does leave an impression
but it's nice to see that they are, you know,
doing better at spending time together.
And Vita comes to Gigi's party for Elijah,
which seemed a little random to me, but...
It seemed random until it was not, because she was definitely...
Oh, my God, the producers were like,
Vita, can you go to the party?
Me? Okay. But, okay, so this was just so...
Elijah's party was very cute.
It was very, it was animal-themed.
And everyone came in very different, I think they had different ideas of what the theme was.
Right, we've got Mike in a onesie, resa in like a fendi button down that was like sort of
Camo.
Half of them were in like Halloween.
I was like, I would have just put on like a, I envisioned me going to this in like a cute Cheetah.
Like, I mean, I love animal print.
Like I love animal print.
But like, I don't know.
It was very.
I would have gone more the destiny route than the mic route.
Yeah.
But Vita, they were talking in a circle and Vita just like said, oh, destiny looks great.
You know, she needs a butt.
And I didn't, listen, I for one, people tell me this literally all the time.
Like, like literally all the time.
You were going to say, you're like, as the president of the flat ass club.
Correct.
Like 100% president, vice president, treasurer.
That is me.
So it all depends.
Of course, like rule of thumb.
You just shouldn't talk about someone's body,
but I think it was,
and I don't want to give her a pass,
but at the same time, I want to be like,
it's Vita.
Like, you know, what do you expect almost?
Plan B is a backup birth control option
that's there for you when things don't go according to plan.
It specifically works after unprotected sex
and before pregnancy occurs
by temporarily delaying ovulation.
Plan B is available nationwide at all major retailers
and through delivery apps like DoorDash.
No ID, prescription,
or age requirement.
It's the number one OBGYN-YN recommended brand of emergency contraception,
and it won't impact your future fertility.
That's Freedom to Be.
Use us directed.
I thought it was interesting.
So she makes this comment, Reza, like two minutes later, is like, well, you know, Vita said
that you need a butt, and then Vita repeats it to Destiny's face.
And I thought it was interesting when Destiny sort of is talking to Reza off to the side.
After that, she's like, you know I don't fuck with Vita.
and now it's just making it worse.
And I love that like these people have enough history with each other
that Destiny specifically doesn't like MJ's mom.
And so this is like a whole thing.
And I totally agree with her.
I thought it was super messy for Reza to bring it up like that.
And when Destiny was saying, you know, like,
MJ and I have our own issues already with each other.
So we don't need you, you know, coming in the middle of that
and like adding your own, you know, like shit on top of it.
It's like MJ and Destiny are already trying to like figure out what's going on between them.
So for Reza to be kind of like meddling in the middle of it, it's like you're on thin ice with half this group already.
Like stay out of it.
I loved that Vita legitimately repeated it to her face.
She's like, oh no, I said, I did say that.
Like you, you're not, you were never fat, but you know you just need a butt.
And so she had like no shame.
But I think the messy part was.
that great. Did Reza know that this was going to happen at the party? No, but it did. So he took that
and ran with it because, this was my theory, because he was mad about the whole not meeting Shams thing.
He like took that opportunity and like used it against MJ in that moment. And right, I think he wanted
to make MJ look bad. It just sucks that it happened sort of at Destiny's expense because
destiny is, Destiny's, she like rides for Reza. So it's like, that's not.
really fair to her. Yeah. And it was, it is embarrassing at certain points when you're in a whole
circle of people and Destiny truly had nothing to do with what was going on other than the
butt of the joke was about her. Oh, no, she did that. Wait, was that you really didn't know.
That wasn't, oh my God. It was coming out of my mouth. I was like, wow, Barry. That was,
couldn't have been more perfect. But anyway, no, I really didn't. You don't have your Ariana Grande
whistle tones, but you have your puns at least are working today.
Okay.
Anyway, yeah, but
I can't. I'm sorry.
But I, and then
MJ runs away and she was like, Teresa, are you happy now?
Like, do you see what you just did?
Like, there was no reason for that.
There was not.
I like how at the end of this party, it shifted from like
a family event to at a certain point.
It was clearly just the cast of the show was left
and they were like sitting in a circle having drama.
And it was like, it got so, there was like so much happening
because all of a sudden it's like Reza and Mike are going at it and he's like bringing up whether Mike had sex with Glenessa and Turkey and then he brings up not seeing shams and it's like why is this happening right now?
Mike's like how can I be involved in this argument?
Like to be honest it's like we never need to talk about Mike and Gigi and Turkey again or like if they want to talk about it they can talk about it but like Reza go away.
Yeah and Gigi all Gigi wanted.
She was like, this is my child's first birthday party.
And we have seen this countless times on these shows where it's like the actual drama
that's happening is just placed at the party that's going on at that moment.
And it's like it's Elijah's first birthday party.
Like, just because you guys are all dressed in animal print doesn't give you the right
to have a sit down circle and like talk about your drama because you're like, no,
I don't know.
But he is so cute.
It is interesting, like all the different dynamics in this group.
I feel like there's only a couple people that are like fully good with each other.
Like I feel like, you know, like MJ is pretty good with like Nima and Mike.
And like, you know, I guess like Gigi and Destiny don't really have drama with each other.
But like I feel like Reza needs to get his shit together because he, you know, destiny's mad at him.
MJ and him have issues obviously.
There's the thing with Gigi and the texts.
Mike is not at him.
You know, like, Reza, I find him.
I think he's like a great person to watch on TV.
But I'm like, home boy, you need to like lock it down a little bit.
It's a little too messy at this point.
Reza is Hannah of Summerhouse this season.
Oh, God.
Yeah.
And like, you got to get that shit together or else you're going to end up at the reunion with like you on one couch and everybody else.
And a binder.
And a binder.
A binder full of her seats.
Oh, my God. Okay, well, it is time for the Grab the Skinny Pop moments of the day.
Endless entertainment calls for endless popcorn.
And luckily, every kernel of Skinny Pop is so light, crunchy, and delicious that we love to eat it by the handful or even the bagful.
Barry, from this episode of Shaw's, what is your Grab the Skinny Pop moment?
Well, Dylan, I'm glad you asked.
My Grab the Skid Pop moment was honestly the whole flat butt scenario because I just, that resonated with me.
You felt seen.
So, yeah, like, I was like, thank God.
It was brought up.
But like it was the way it was done and the placement and like the exact people there and how it was.
Reza ran from one end to the party to the next and just like happened to say it.
It was very, that was a good, dramatic bravo scene that I am here for.
So what was yours?
Mine was earlier in the episode.
We didn't talk about London arranges for Gigi to meet with this intuitive energy healer person.
to kind of weigh in on the situation with Mike and these spoof messages.
And I don't know what this woman's full situation is,
but her hair was giving us full Kim Zolsiak, season one.
I don't know if it was a wig.
It looked like a wig.
It was, I just would say I would not take life advice from someone whose hair looked like that.
And it was distracting to me in the scene, is what I would say.
Can I speak for everyone,
we say, can we not have any more healers on, on, like, why did we pick one, one job and have that on
every show on Bravo this year?
I appreciate it when it's used in a good way.
Like, when the psychic is like a vessel to deliver messiness, I appreciate that.
Like, I think, you know, when, like, the psychic knew that Mario was cheating on Ramona.
Or, like, when, um, obviously, I.
Allison Dubois is like in her own category.
But even like on Salt Lake City when they went to
what's her name's, Kimberly's house in Vegas,
I thought that was great because they really exposed a lot.
You know, who doesn't trust Heather and Jen raises her hand?
I thought that was great.
But with this, it's like we didn't actually get anything out of this scene.
It was just five minutes of them being like, Gigi.
Yeah.
It's unfair that you're in the middle of the situation.
You know, I could have done without it.
To be honest, like I forgot.
I mean, I knew the scene happened, but like I forgot the scene.
happened because it just wasn't necessary. I had it in my notes, but it didn't make it
into the outline because I was like, eh. Yeah, it just, no. Well, those are today's grab the
Skinny Pop moments. You can grab Skinny Pop yourself at Retailers Nationwide or go to the Shop Now page on
Skinnypop.com. Thank you guys so much for listening. We will be back with another episode tomorrow.
In the meantime, don't forget to rate, review, follow wherever you listen and just be cool.
