Those sandals you can wear all day and all night.
And you've had enough of shopping from your couch.
Done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope.
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.

Mention It All
A Bravo by Betches podcast
We don't say that but now we said it
With Dylan Hafer
Who gonna check me boo
And Barry Rosenfeld
I need to start drinking alcohol
Now go to sleep week
Hey everyone
Welcome back to another episode
of the Mention at All podcast
I'm Dylan Hafer
And I'm Barry Rosenfeld
I feel like we've had like a week
I feel like this is our first show ever
I know
We didn't do an episode on
Monday because we were off for Yom Kippur. Thanks for hanging in there. We are back today.
Of course, going to talk about Real Health Lives of Potomac. How could we not? And also,
Bravo's chat room. We have a brand new show to discuss. Barry, it's currently 11, 28 a.m.
Can you tell everyone what you were doing 15 minutes ago? Yeah. We, you know, we as a company,
use Slack to communicate with each other. And me, Dylan, and our producer, Mike, were discussing what
We always recorded the same time every week, but today we had to push some things. And of course,
I got hungry, so I was making spaghetti. And then Dylan finished whatever he was doing early. And he was
like, okay, we can go now. And I said, well, this time doesn't work for me now because I'm literally
making spaghetti. And Mike goes at 11. And I got offended because I am the number one person who
made this up in my own head and thinks there should be no distinct times for meals. Okay.
Who is the person walking around being like, you can't have spaghetti.
It's 11 a.m.
It's a dinner meal.
In my mind, I think the thing I don't, that's strange to me is cooking the spaghetti at 11 a.m.
Like, I would, if I had leftover pasta in the fridge, I would absolutely eat it for breakfast.
But it would never occur to me to, like, wake up in the morning and boil a pot of water for.
And just wake up for me, 11 a.m. is like, I woke up at 7.
And like 11 is, imagine I, like, rolled out of bed at 10.45, like, hung over.
I'm like, I'm starving.
I mean, cook spaghetti.
That's actually true.
You guys, when we used to go into the office for work way back when Barry and I were, like,
always the first two in the office, I would come in and she would already be sitting at her desk
with her little breakfast, and there was nobody else there.
And that was the quietest time of the day.
There have been times I have to be honest in the office.
I think I did it two times.
Like, that's how bad it was that I remember how many times I did that.
done it at 9 a.m. between 9.30, I have made cauliflower and yokey and eaten it at work.
Okay.
Guys, I love pasta. I love pasta. It's like in my blood, literally.
It's not about the pasta. It's not about the pasta.
Okay, yesterday, before we get into our main topics for today, we got a new
supersized trailer for Real Housewives of Salt Lake City yesterday. And this show,
looks bat shit off the wall's crazy and I can't wait for it.
Here's the thing.
I feel that, well, I know that Bravo has done this before.
They like obviously talk up a whole new show that's coming.
I don't feel that this is going to let us down.
Like, like OC trailers out and we're already like, yeah, they can might as well just skip
this season.
It ain't going to be good.
This looks like it is going to bring some heat or as they say, ice.
Ice.
I love that in their intro, they're holding CGI snow flakes.
It's so funny.
The thing is, I feel like with these trailers, usually you can kind of tell whether they're really making the most out of what they can work with or if there's really like a season to back it up.
And some of these trailers, it's kind of like, okay, they showed us some crazy moments, but I feel like that's kind of,
it. Whereas this show, it's like, just from this trailer, we have Mary, who we know is married to
her step-grandfather. It looks like Meredith is married, but is in a relationship with another
man. I don't know what to make of that. We have, you know, it just seems like real kind of
like deep drama. And it seems like it's going to be intense in a good way. Yeah. Also, one other
thing because I constantly need new things to watch because I've watched everything that I started
New Jersey over again. And it is just beyond my favorite franchise. Like, it's just so good. It
doesn't let down. Like, I'm already on season, the end of season three. Like, if you want to
rewatch, rewatch, Jersey is where to go. Like, it is just, Teresa, I said this the other day,
Teresa is the best housewife of all time. You can argue with me. You can have your own opinion. I
stand by that. She is...
We've been through so much with her.
She is television icon. Like,
it's just so good. Yeah.
All right. I do feel
that she will be the last OG
standing out of the like long-term
franchises. I agree.
One other things, are my lips purple
to you? I don't
no. No. Okay, great.
Move, so then we can continue.
Were you eating like a great
popsicle before this? No, I haven't eaten.
I haven't eaten. I didn't even eat my
the poor thing sitting in the pot still.
Okay, let's talk about what we came.
The poor thing.
What we came here to effing talk about, okay?
It is mine and Dylan's take on this altercation that happened in Potomac last week.
Dylan, may you tell us, run us through, just walk us through.
So we pick up where we left off at this winery.
They're in a barn standing around this table.
obviously Monique and Candice are heated
and I appreciate
some people on Instagram have posted
slow-mo versions of this fight
because there was a lot happening
it was a lot to keep track of
so basically Monique starts tossing
Candice's hair kind of playing with her
hair in a kind of egging her on way
wait can we say can we just mention how Ashley
decided to go to the bathroom too
Ashley goes to the restroom
and then there's a hand that pushes Monique
and I believe it was Giselle, perhaps Robin.
It was one of the two, basically trying to be like,
okay, stand back.
Right.
Get back.
And I believe that Monique thought that was Candice pushing her.
Maybe.
Candice maybe grabbed Monique's vest.
There was another hand, a little unclear.
And then that is when Monique,
latches on to Candace's hair.
Latches.
Lashes.
She had a death grip on Candace's hair, and that's when the producers come over.
You have security.
You have all the women, minus Ashley who's in the restroom, and Karen Hugar, who chooses to walk away.
And Monique held on to Candace's hair for like two minutes.
It was a long, like, this situation felt like it was at a standstill because
Candice was literally just like in Monique's clutches
and the producers are telling her to let go.
The other women are telling her to let go.
They're trying to like pry her hand off
as she would not release Candice's hair.
Yeah. And also before the death grip happened,
Candice also kind of fought back a little
and threw a wine glass at Monique.
So it cut her face a little bit,
which that also I have to say could have been a lot worse.
But my feeling, okay,
We do not condone violence.
Let's just start with that.
But hair pulling for me is such a, like a, I don't want to say a cheap shot, but you just,
you can't, you don't pull someone's hair, especially from the root.
What are you doing, number one and number two?
What is the other, you're not fighting, you're just, what do you, and especially the fight,
it was just very weird.
I can't believe how many times they showed it, to be honest, but.
The grip was so long that I was like, oh my God, oh my God, like let go.
Let go.
Right.
So the moment of aggression where it was between both of them was so quick.
And then after that, for like a whole other minute, Monique wouldn't let go.
Let me just say it would have been a lot worse if that table wasn't in between the two of them.
Oh, my God.
I know.
if there had just been an umbrella between them.
Yeah.
I mean, like, also a lot of people have been asking whose side we're both on.
I could definitely say I am not on a side, like a majority of the women say, I'm not on a
side.
I see both sides.
I honestly see how Candice was 100% provoking Monique.
She was.
You can't deny that.
She was.
You could also say how Denise, Denise, who's Denise?
how Monique has had it out for Candice this entire season.
They just don't get along and it was almost like a pimple where it was coming to a head.
Like you knew this was going to happen.
Unfortunately, it did.
I am not saying that I agree with either one,
but I kind of did understand where Monique was coming from in the sense where like,
you can't provoke or get in someone's face and just assume someone's not going to hit you.
You know what I mean?
Like she doesn't know how Monique is.
And if you piss off someone like Monique has mentioned, like she did it.
And I don't think anyone was expecting to do it.
But Candid, I just think they're both wrong.
They're both wrong.
I think they're both wrong.
And I think Candice has a lot of issues as a person.
But I think in this specific situation, watching it and watching it in the replay and the kind of how they reacted after,
I definitely think Monique was more wrong in this specific situation.
I think there's no, there's no excuse for the way that she gripped onto her hair.
And then afterward, Candice was, honestly, Candice was very calm.
She was upset.
They put her in the car.
And thank God they put her in the car because we see Monique, like, sneaking away from the producer,
and then running across this field in the dark, trying to get at Candice.
And then she comes back inside.
She says, I'm going to kill the bitch.
Like, Monique was, Monique was on another level of aggressive.
where it was actually really concerning.
Whereas Candace, I think, made poor choices in terms of escalating it to a certain point,
provoking whatever.
But nothing would make Monique's level permissible in that situation.
Agreed.
And it was, like we've seen this with other fights, I guess, in the past where the producers,
the first thing they do is they separate the women.
So this one producer, yeah, took her to a stairwell and just like,
got her out of the situation.
Yeah. And all she was trying to do was get back in. And at that point, I wanted to be like,
Monique, do you think anyone's going to let you go near Candace right now? Like, go ahead.
Like, they're separating you. You both need to calm down. So, yeah, the fact that she went out
and was running in the dark to try to like sneak attack, I was like, oh my God, that was bad.
But it was a lot. I mean, we see them now both.
in their cars home talking, they both call their significant others, you can hear Chris,
Monique, they're both named Chris actually, Monique's Chris be, like, not happy. Like, you could,
you could tell Monique wanted him to, like, hyper up a little and be, like, on her side. And he was,
like, embarrassed because as we, as we know, he is a retired NFL player, he does have a certain
image that he has to portray or as. And, like, it's just not a good look, you know?
Well, I think Chris, I think Chris Samuels has always been kind of in that middle ground where it's like he's supportive of Monique in terms of actually like offering positive support for what is best.
But he's not just blindly supportive.
Excuse me, he's not just blindly supportive and is going to like back her no matter what.
It's a kind of support where he actually is sometimes challenging her to think about things and be, do.
better. And I think that's kind of, that's what an ideal relationship should be like. And it was the same
a week or two ago when they were talking about the money that she's invested into this, not for leasing mom's
stuff, and where he's supportive of her as a businesswoman, whatever, but he's not just going to be like,
yeah, spend as much money as you need forever. And it's no big deal. I think it's kind of this
similar dynamic. And also, Chris Samuels likes Chris and Candice. He's. He's,
He doesn't, he, I think he, a part of him is sad that they basically can't be friends anymore
because of this situation.
And obviously he's not going to choose Candace over his wife.
But like, that's tough.
Especially when, you know, he, Chris, the two Chrises have been, you know, good buddies.
And it's like, it sucks that basically they won't be able to be friends anymore after this.
And here's the thing also, sorry, going back to the actual like altercation when, no, no one.
should put their hands on the other person, but the fact that Monique was twirling Candace's hair
in the effort to not put her hands on her, but to like do that, you know, for Candace to like start.
It's just the whole thing was just like a mess. And like I would personally be so fucking pissed
if my friends did this at a winery with me because my whole day would be ruined. And I'm going
to the winery to have fun and to drink some fucking wine. So like, well, and not only is the,
is that event ruined, but I get the sense that, I mean, obviously other stuff is happening,
but this event is really going to change the kind of vibe for the rest of the season.
I mean, Monique and Candice now basically can't be in the same room together.
Monique does not go on the trip to Portugal.
They obviously have continued conversations about this.
The drama doesn't, it's not just like they fought, and then now it's normal again.
like it really shifts
the whole vibe.
And but even,
it's so funny because with Potomac,
we talk about them having so much going on.
And even in this episode with this crazy altercation,
we have other major things happening.
Like we have big moments with Ray and Karen,
with Michael and Ashley,
with Giselle.
There's so much more happening.
I was really happy for Ashley bringing up the post and up
and that Mike.
Michael seemed willing to have that conversation.
I think it's good to see her kind of standing up for herself
and advocating for her own best interests.
And I don't think she wants to divorce Michael, but, you know.
Michael, to me, always looks petrified and ready to cry
when the cameras are around.
And it makes me, like, extremely uncomfortable
because it looks like he's hiding something.

You know what I don't understand about Ashley?
And this goes for like anyone, maybe explain it to me.
I don't know.
Where she was like, if he does it again, I'm leaving him.
So you're giving him the option to potentially cheat on you.
And then if he does it like that time you're going to leave him.
Like it's just like, no, this shouldn't happen again.
Like we're moving forward and like it's not happening again.
but the post and up is a pretty open topic to talk about like on the show.
Like that is, of course, we're getting into, you know, the whole financial and the marriage.
I feel like that's like a thing now with Housewives, like the main storyline with everyone
is either finances or marriage.
Like, that's it.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't think that's, I don't think that's new, but I do think, you know,
it's good to see people being open and obviously some couples have been.
not super open and I would definitely prefer them to talk about this stuff and
continuing on that you know lane we have Ray and Karen who have really opened up this season
or at least Karen has about her marriage and not being in the place that she wants it to be and I think
this episode we see Ray kind of start to also open up they meet with this life coach and
Ray basically says that he's not sure if he's in love with Karen. And I mean, my heart was breaking for her in that moment. I was just going to say that it's heartbreaking. When she goes upstairs and she says that she needs, you know, to take a break from filming and it's like that is, it just, it really felt like such a real moment. And I think Karen is one of those housewives who I love her to death, but she has not always seemed the most forthcoming on camera about.
about what's really happening in her personal life.
And this was one of those moments where it's like,
damn, she's really going through it.
Yeah.
And it's, you're right.
Like for someone that you've been married to for that long to say,
to not even know if they're in love with you is like,
okay, we ask for honesty,
but that was a bit too honest.
Like maybe that could have not been in front of the cameras.
Like, tell me how you really feel.
And Karen's saying, you know, thank you for being honest,
but that doesn't mean I have to like what you just.
said to me. Like, that's a big, that's a big thing to say. And it's like that admitting it is
step one, but just because you admitted it doesn't mean the problem goes away. And I think it's
important that Karen is kind of, you know, making that known. Yeah, I felt bad when she went up because
you can tell she really did just need like a minute because I feel like she was not expecting that.
And, and you can totally see they are not on the same page in these conversations. Like, she still is
madly in love with her husband, like they're in the honeymoon phase, you know, and he has,
seems to have phased out. And, um, it, it was sad, but she just wants to hear the three words.
The three words. Not okay, okay, okay. I just want, like, I like Karen and Ray as a couple.
I just want Karen to like feel loved, you know, I just, I, I, we love her.
Does she feel it? Rihanna loves her. That's more.
That's better.
So, true.
So moving into our third messy relationship dynamic, we have Giselle, who's in Atlanta with
her daughters for the relaunch of the restaurant that her daughter's now own.
Weird.
I loved getting to see Giselle's dad.
He is like the sweetest man.
I love whenever he comes around.
So Giselle's father has some thoughts about Jamal.
and I didn't, I don't know if we knew this before, but I had forgotten.
Giselle's father did not go to her wedding with Jamal the first time around.
Right.
And that's a major thing.
And, you know, obviously, Jazel is back with Jamal.
And her father is trying to kind of wrap his mind around that.
And he is very supportive to Jaselle's face.
And then he takes his mic off.
But it was a hot mic and his mic wasn't off.
And we heard everything he had to say and his feelings.
And can we just backtrack?
The whole restaurant thing, I think, is the funniest thing in the world.
These girls have less than zero interest.
They just want to eat at a restaurant.
They don't want to own the restaurant.
The woman's, like, showing them this is the cook.
This is this.
This is where you go.
And they're like, huh?
Like, we have to do this?
And it's funny that they're acting like the girls are going to work at this restaurant
when it's not even in the same state that they live in.
Like, they live in Maryland.
this restaurant's in Atlanta.
They're only going to be there like a few times a year.
Yeah.
So that is just, it's so cute.
They're not going to be like picking up shifts at the restaurant.
Right.
And so the whole thing with Giselle's dad was so interesting because I felt bad for him to be honest.
Because he does feel this way.
His mind is not changing as it would have already if he did change his mind.
what I mean. So yeah. And for him to have, you could tell he went to the bad, but he felt uncomfortable.
Like he could, he's an older man. He didn't, and it, that's his daughter. And so he did say some, like,
truthful things that I don't, as Giselle probably didn't want to hear that. She's with this man now,
you know, who his thinks in her mind has changed, but the dad only has tunnel vision. Like,
he's only seeing one, one side of that. And yeah, and, and you know what I was wondering.
Like, did she know her dad left?
Like, or did he come back to the table and say bye?
Right.
Yeah, I don't know.
But, okay, segueing into Bravo's chat room, which we are going to talk about a little bit,
Giselle actually addressed her, what her dad said.
And I thought she did a good job.
I mean, obviously he said what he said.
She heard what he said.
And she was saying, you know, he's allowed to have his thoughts.
Any father would.
But he still is supportive of.
of me. And I think it's honestly not that different from what we were saying with Monique and
Chris, where just because you're supportive of someone doesn't mean that you're just going to
love everything they do and every choice they make. And so, you know, her dad is willing to be
supportive and willing to be there for her, but he's still going to feel the way he feels about
Jamal. And I think that's pretty normal. Yeah, I mean, I was going to say, they also asked,
though, like what she would do, like what and she like, that the fact that her
dad doesn't like him, whatever. And she was like, I'm a grown-ass woman. Like, I can make a decision,
you know, which is like fine. But at the same time, you know you're always going to have that thought
in the back of your head. And it's not like her dad is not, doesn't not know what he's talking about.
Like, hello. Also, speaking of that, I did have to, they always are talking about Jamal's,
like, family and other kids. And I did have to confer. I was like, because why are they making this
such a thing? They always talk about it. They don't talk about it. So I did Google him, but
You guys can Google them too.
Yeah, there's a lot of Jamal Bryant chatter out in the universe if you want to go down in that rabbit hole.

Let's select chat about Bravo's chat room.
We have a brand new late night show on Bravo hosted by Kate Chastain, Giselle Bryant, Portia Williams,
and Hannah Burner, and they had their first two episodes on Sunday and Monday, and they're, so for now,
they're doing three weeks of this two night a week format and I'm curious I feel like this is like a
tryout to see how it goes absolutely it's a try out but it's like three weeks is not very long so I hope
I hope at the very least they extend it for like another three weeks I feel like we've got to do like
a six week thing to really feel it out yeah well it's a it's a it's a zoom essentially it's a zoom show and
it's funny because it's almost like you got to I've said this about every show they're doing what
they can to entertain people watching watch what happens live which is one of my favorite shows is hard
enough as it is you can even see andy's frustrated in some of the episodes like it's just hard and
annoying and it's whatever so this show as four people doing that they're all it's all their
takes on on all the shows from that week and the people I don't I personally need to give it a
trial run too i watched it of course it's not my favorite i i i don't know i love the way portia is and i love
the way kate chastain is i love i i think this is the type of show where it needs to be
rotating hosts if that makes sense i think that would be very cool it would be a nice aspect
different different shows constantly talking and mingling and talking about their opinions i think
that would be a good idea. I do. I think it's cool that they have different perspectives on
filming these shows. You know, like they were talking about, um, with the New York reunion when
Derinda had said that she realized she should have sat out filming for season 12. And they were all
talking about kind of the mental task of doing filming when you're not really into it. Yeah. And I think
it's cool to hear them discuss that because they have perspective on that that normal people don't. So I
I think it's, you know, I think all four of them are great personalities.
They all have kind of a cool, you know, like something to bring to the table.
Portia is like one of my all-time favorites.
Oh, yeah.
So, yeah, I mean, I'm interested to keep watching.
And I think the four of them, I think, will get into a better and better groove kind of conversationally.
Because I don't know how well they know each other.
I would guess.
That's the thing.
I would guess they, I would guess that they've, you know, mingled, chatted before maybe, but I don't think they're like close friends.
So I think it's going to be, if it goes on for a little longer, it would be cool to see them kind of like bounce relationships off of each other.
Like, you know, it's like the view or the real or anything like that.
I think it's a cool idea.
Yeah, it is.
And I did think it was very funny when Giselle, like, I think they should have segments.
Do you know what I mean?
And so they brought on,
Giselle gave like two dresses to hold up
because she laughs at herself now that everyone makes fun
of like her clothing.
And so she held up two dresses
and the girls said whether or not she should keep it.
Like I thought that was funny.
I think they should do more like personality type things.
But yeah, I think it's a great opportunity.
I think it's exciting to see where it goes.
But we shall see.
There is one other thing I wanted to talk about.
Okay.
which is we texted the other night.
And I said after one of the episode with the fight, whatever,
that I said to you, Wendy Williams is on Watched Happens Live tonight.
I'm excited to hear her take on the fight.
And not only did she not really talk about the fight,
but her main topic was Miss Nini Leaks.
And I, for one, I can't imagine how Nini felt,
was very, very, very surprised at the things
that Wendy Williams said.
I was literally watching live with my jaw, like, open.
I was like, whoa.
You know, I can imagine how Nini Leaks felt
because she tweeted about 100 times about the episode.
She threw out some allegations,
including calling Andy Cohen racist
and saying that Wendy Williams was maybe partaking in drugs.
I mean, the whole Nini situation,
regardless of Wendy, whatever she said, and watch what happens live.
Nini is like a mess right now.
She is just all over Twitter.
She's on YouTube, Instagram, like throwing out these allegations, making all these claims.
And I don't know, obviously, all the details of what happened with her contract for Atlanta, not coming back, all of that.
But it's like, she's going on Tameran Hall tomorrow, I believe.
And it's like, what is your goal ever?
of this. You're getting like headlines right now, but like, where are you going with this? I don't,
I just like, I need a break from Nini. I can't keep up with all of it. I know. It's, um, it was a lot.
I, she fired back very quickly and, and heavily, but I do have to say I would not be happy
if Wendy Williams said the thing she said about Nini about me either. Like I don't think they were
nice as, like, a friend, but I love Wendy Williams, but also I, I love Wendy Williams, but also I
I'm terrified of Wendy Williams.
All right.
So, Dylan, who was your Bravo Love of the Week?
It's been so long.
I'm going to give it to me as Karen Huger.
She's opening up.
She's raw and emotional.
I feel like she needs it right now.
She needs our support.
And also, I respect her for walking away from that fight.
I think she's interesting that she's kind of trying to stay neutral at this point.
But I think she knows that Monique needs.
support even if she was wrong.
Yeah.
I'm going to actually give mine this week to Giselle because I thought that was a very open.
