Starting point is 00:00:27 See Home Depot.com slash price match for details. Betches Media presents. Ha ha, laugh, funny. Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast. We don't say that, but now we said it. With me, Dylan Hafer. We're going to check me, boo. Hey, everyone, welcome back to the Mentioned It All podcast.
Starting point is 00:00:48 I'm Dylan Hafer, and today I'm excited to be joined by a brand new Mention It All guest. She is a comedian, the host of the Howcome podcast. And the co-host of the Betches podcast, Diet Starts Tomorrow. And I was so excited to learn that she is a fellow Bravo lover. please welcome Remy Kassamere. Hello everybody and hello Dylan. It's so nice to see you this morning. It is nice to see you too.
Starting point is 00:01:12 We were just saying before we got on the air, how we have our cup runneth over with Bravo News in these last few days. And so I was like spamming you last night with links and things to make sure you had seen because there's just so much happening in the world. I know. And we didn't even talk about Jen Shaw. Like, I feel like there's so many other things. Right.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Jen Shaw, Lisa Rina, it's like that's last week's news. That's last week. Now we have a girls trip coming up. Yeah. We have Vanderpump Rules to talk about. I know you and I are going to talk about below deck a little bit, which I'm excited because I have not uttered a word about this season to anyone yet. So we're breaking the silence here today.
Starting point is 00:01:57 But before we get into any of that, Ultimate Girls Trip, season four. They're going to Morocco. Yep. We're doing X-wives Club part two. So I guess Girls Trip is now. There's like seasons within seasons. Yeah. I'm just going to read this cast and then we can react to it.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Then we can share our disappointments. Vicki Gunvilsen, Gretchen Rossi, Brandy Glanville, Camille, Grammer Meyer, Alex McCord, Caroline Manzo, Eva Marcell, and Fadra Parks. Wow. What a list. Camille not have Donatachi anywhere anymore? I feel like Andy Cohen for some reason love saying Camille Donatachi, but I don't think she's... I don't think she's actually used the Donatachi, but she is very committed to Grammer Meyer, which...
Starting point is 00:02:50 Yes. Okay. Sounds like a hot dog company. Or like a law firm or something, but Camille Gramer Meyer will be there. I'm excited for that. Yeah. There had been rumors about this cast for a few days, but it is... something new that we have returning girls' trip housewives coming on.
Starting point is 00:03:09 How do you feel about this construct? I don't understand why we're repeating so quickly and so many people. Like, we just, I love Fadra and I love Eva, but I don't understand, like, I guess because they got like a shitty trip that they want to crack at it again, Vicky too, but like, Vicky was so boring last time. Yeah, I saw the most opposition to Vicky going back, partially because on the season in the Berkshires, she was such a Debbie Downer. She maybe still had COVID question mark. She had just gotten dumped by Steve Lodge. So there is a part of me that's like, I think normal Vicky is more fun than that, but I also don't actually like Vicky enough to care.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Like I'm not like, oh, she got a bad deal. She needs another trip. I'm like, no, I would rather see somebody I like. Yeah. Like, that's why I feel that way about maybe Eva and Fadra, but I'm like, no, Vicky's very consistent. Like, she's always been annoying. Also, is she going to really come out of her shell if she doesn't have like a partner in
Starting point is 00:04:15 crime with her? Or is she like, she didn't really bond with any of the other women very quickly. That's a good point because Vicky and Tamara were a dynamic duo and they always have been. And we know that Vicky has been hanging around on orange. Orange County this season that's coming up. But like, Vic and Gretchen, I don't, she, she, she, yes, she has. But like, I don't think that Vicky and Gretchen are friends in the year 2023. No. Like, that'll be interesting for them. All of this will be interesting. You know, like me being like upset about returns or whatever, it doesn't really matter because like, it will be great TV. Like, I am excited to see Brandy and
Starting point is 00:04:55 Caroline Manzo. Like, what is that going to look like? That sounds chaotic. I think the biggest curveball here is that Alex McCord is leaving her. She's leaving Australia to go to Morocco. She's going back to Morocco on Bravo's Dime. And like Alex McCord is so far removed from the housewives machine that it's like truly a wild card. I don't know what this woman is like these days. I hope she's just as kooky as ever.
Starting point is 00:05:27 I think she's the same. Like, have you watched any old seasons of New York recently? Not super recently, but like recently enough. Yeah. Like, she holds up. I agree with her. And I think she's like, I think she's one of those people that like is ready to blow the whole thing up from the inside. I appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:05:48 I think sometimes with housewives, the best thing that you can have is somebody with good intentions but terrible delivery because that just creates so many opportunities for. for misunderstandings and for people to take things the wrong way and, you know. And nuance. And I feel like Alex McCord is somebody who is, she has her head screwed on pretty straight when it comes to, you know, right and wrong and stuff like that. But the way that she goes about things is not super housewivesy in a good way. Yes. Like I just remember when she was like having her house redone and people were treating her like,
Starting point is 00:06:26 she was like sex trafficking. Like they were like, how could you invite people over when your house looks like this? And I'm like, get over it. It's like the staircase. They're like, wait, what do you mean there's drywall visible? And she's like, do you know how hard it is to renovate a townhouse in Cobble Hill? Literally. Are you guys okay? Yeah, I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:06:49 And also like, does Alex McCord know any of these women even a little bit? I can't imagine she really does. I wonder if she has like parasycial relationships with all of them because it's not like she's been going to BravoCon, but maybe she's been like watching it this whole time. Maybe. I, God, I, I'm excited. Or whatever the one is, hi you, the one that you do use in Australia when you need to watch reality. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Hey you. How you? People, people will spam my DMs and being like, why is Miami not available on Hey, you in Canada? And I'm like, I'm like, respectfully, how the fuck? what I know. There are so many franchises that aren't available to us that like my friends in Canada watch. Like there's like a whole like Vancouver Real Housewives of Tel Aviv. So many yelling ladies that we don't have access to. The international franchises have are really difficult to find at this point. And so like Canadians, I'm sorry you can't be up to date on what's
Starting point is 00:07:48 happening at Adriana's music video shoot, but like there are seven seasons of Melbourne Housewives that I'm just never going to get to watch. Totally. Oh my God. Shine, shine, shine. It's so good. Everything you want for summer is at Nordstrom rack stores now and up to 60% off. Stock up and save on the brands you love like Vince, Sam Edelman, frame and free people.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Join the Nordy Club to unlock exclusive discounts, shop new arrivals first, and more. Plus, buy online and pick up at your favorite rack store for free. Great brands, great prices. That's why you rack. Girl, winter is so last season. And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
Starting point is 00:08:41 That perfect hang on the patio sundress. Those sandals you can wear all day and all night. And you've had enough of shopping from your couch. done hoping it looks anything like the picture when you tear up on that envelope. It's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross. Work your magic. Okay, I want to talk about Vanderpump Rules.
Starting point is 00:09:02 First of all, we've never talked about this. So I'm curious, what is your relationship to Vanderpump Rules? Okay, so I love Vanderpump Rules. I actually started rewatching season one last night just to like get back, get back into the zone. I have interviewed one cast member, Ariana Maddox, who I loved and she took me to Tom Tom. And that is my, that's my claim to fame. We love Ariana.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Ariana and Tom are always a good time. They've been in this very studio that I'm sitting in. This trailer, I think the response I was seeing online was really positive. We have, Vanderpump Rules is a little bit of a Trojan horse because the last few years, feels like they'll put out the trailer, people get excited, maybe the premiere seems promising, and then the season turns into a little bit of a slog. And I am hoping that this season might kind of break that loop. I don't see how this season couldn't. Like, again, it's like this episode. There's so much that, like, we have to see. Like, I hope that all of the Schwartz and
Starting point is 00:10:14 Katie stuff just, like, pushes Brock out of the storyline. You know, just just pushes him away. Brock has, Brock has already said, I think that he was a lot less involved in this season. And that appears to be true from the trailer. And thank God. I mean,
Starting point is 00:10:30 I look, I, with Sheena and Brock last season, was I entertained at times? Yes, I was. I was keeping a running list of red flags and that list was long. But like,
Starting point is 00:10:41 I don't want Brock as a character in and of himself. Like, I want to see Sheena and how she's doing. And I, understand that that will involve Brock being present at times, but like, Brock does not need to be a main character. Agreed. I am, however, really excited to see whatever journey Raquel is on because we see she's
Starting point is 00:11:02 going to have moments with Schwartz, moments with Peter, moments with Garcel's son, Oliver. Like, was that her? Yes. Do you know how many times I paused and rewound that? Because I was like, who is Oliver making out with? Like maybe is Oliver part of the storyline? Like, oh, this is amazing. I love baby Raquel.
Starting point is 00:11:24 You know, with Raquel, there is so much, so many directions she could go in. And it looks like she kind of chooses all of them at once. And the fact that James' new lady, Allie, is like fully in the cast. I'm like, I hope Raquel is having a good time because James is certainly not shying away from bringing his relationship onto the show. I was sort of dismayed in the trailer to see that Schwartz and Sandys seems to be still just. floundering. Yeah. Floundering.
Starting point is 00:11:51 I'm out here. I thought I might be able to visit it, but no. Not if there's a bomb cyclone or whatever is happening. They definitely aren't open in this weather. Nor. I was shocked to see that Christina Kelly is back in the cast this season because... I know. Can you imagine?
Starting point is 00:12:08 Like, Stasi must be screaming into a pillow somewhere. So sad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But also, like, what brings Christina back? Like, I'm always happy. to see her in the mix. She reminds me of like, what's her face on the city? Olivia Palermo. I'm like, I don't know. Olivia Palermo. Yeah. Olivia Palermo. You know, she's like the Olivia Palermo that it's like,
Starting point is 00:12:30 she's kind of just like above it all and then like comes in every so often. And you're like, oh, what are you doing here? It's one time in like early quarantine days. I actually purchased Christina Kelly's lip balm. Like she, like she makes like skincare products or something. And I was like, I was in such a like COVID depression spiral that I was just ordering shit online and I'm like I'll buy Christina Kelly's lip balm and it was good it was nice. hilarious. I love that for her. I think she's theoretically been friends with Katie this whole time and then this year is like there to support her as her marriage falls apart. But it's funny the like that's nice.
Starting point is 00:13:10 The conceit that Christina Kelly is such a good supportive friend but Stasi isn't going to be around at all when we need. know that that's like the actual friend group. It is funny. Like what they decide is able to be shown versus like Stasi clearly is still on the like no fly list for Bravo. Totally. And Kristen too. Yeah. I mean, Chris. Oh God. You're watching season one. I feel like Kristen is I miss her so much. It's wild, Dylan. It's crazy to like just see her relationship with Sandoval and like you're kind of like like, I find myself being like into Jacks and Stasi together. I'm like, what do you do? doing. Like all the things I know. And I'm still like, oh, but they could work it out. It's very bizarre. Yeah. No, Kristen Doty, it's, it's never going to work it out with anyone. I mean,
Starting point is 00:13:58 best of luck in her personal endeavors these days. But like, I just don't know if I see that riding off into the sunset happening for her. Is that mean? It was really, no, no. It's interesting, though, to see the beginning of their like being like, oh, this is what I want to be. This is what I want to do like whatever like Tom's like I want to be a rock star and like Kristen at one point says she's like I want to be known for my work and if fame comes along with that that's nice too and I'm like what work the shirts? Oh my God the shirts yeah it is funny like we've gotten so far away from that on vander pump rules that it's like nobody's trying to do anything anymore I mean sometimes somebody might have like a business idea or like a side hustle that they're working on but like
Starting point is 00:14:44 there's no concept of the show that these are like want to be actors, want to be models, like that we've lost that thread. No, we're all okay with like everyone's like, yeah, they're influencers. It's fine. Yeah. I think the idea of influencing being a legitimate career path has in equal parts helped and hurt the idea of reality shows like this, that it's like we don't have to spend a lot of time hand-wringing over what are these people's jobs.
Starting point is 00:15:09 But at the same time also, it's like I don't want a cast full of people who just want to be famous because they're on TV. Totally. Okay, this is way out of left field, but I've been watching this show on Netflix called Singles Inferno, and it's a Korean, like, dating show. And it is amazing and so interesting, but their one rule is like, you have to like match up to go to paradise and like otherwise you're in the inferno. But while you're in the inferno, you can't ask anybody their job or their age. Oh. So job is such an interesting one.
Starting point is 00:15:49 It's like, that's like, we live in a society. We live in a world where that informs so much about who people are. Right. Wow. Highly recommend you guys. Singles Inferno. I have not even heard of that, but suddenly, suddenly I know what I'm doing with the rest of my day. Amazing.

Starting point is 00:17:15 first of all, sending our thoughts and prayers to Captain Lee because, boy, that has been that has been a national nightmare to lose Captain Lee. Yeah, yeah, but it's nice that Sandy came in in the clutch. I liked the handoff. I wonder if that's the first time they've met, like I'm confused, but I'm stoked. I mean, they've definitely met at like Bravo. Bravo con type of events. Yeah, I feel like they're around enough that they know each other, but they didn't really
Starting point is 00:17:45 play up that thing of like one from one famous yachting captain to another famous yachting captain that are both on Bravo shows. It was just like, hi Lee, hi Sandy. Thanks. Thank you. I like in the in that before she came to he's like, I'm going to tell whoever to get the fuck off my boat when I'm like ready. And I was like, you're going to say that to Sandy? Right. It's like clearly this is already predetermined like that Captain Sandy is available and is going to fly down to St. Lucia. But the biggest through line on this season so far has been the issues in the interior, namely Camille versus Alyssa. And every single episode that I've watched this season, I want to pull my hair out
Starting point is 00:18:31 watching the way they speak to each other. It's insane. I think I've shifted over the course of the season where at first I was kind of like, oh, I don't love the way Alyssa is talking to Camille. It seems like this isn't necessarily a very productive relationship. And then week after week after week, I'm like, oh, but Camille is an equal, if not worse, nightmare. Camille is an actual terror. And it makes it really hard to go who's wrong.
Starting point is 00:18:59 Like, I know that they're both wrong in this, but Camille is actually one of the worst people I've ever seen, given that makes her the best. like I've never been like oh my god I have to watch that meltdown again um but kate chastain did like one of those like watch with me episodes and she's like camille is always wet like besides the fact that she's like constantly fighting with everyone like she's always wet like you will never see me wet on that show and it's like yeah like why are you so wet camille camille she just like doesn't quite get it And also similarly on the deck team, we have Tony who just doesn't understand the assignment of being working on a yacht at all. He's like, what do you mean? I have to wake up at an inconvenient time to do Anchor Watch.
Starting point is 00:19:52 So then I'm too tired to wake up again at 4 a.m. for my workouts that I just need to do. And what do you mean that when we're at the beach setting up for the picnic, I can't just take a swim? That's not fair. I want to be on vacation. It's a boat full of babies. Why are you here? They've all cried. several times about things that I'm like, you should not be crying to anybody about. I cry a lot,
Starting point is 00:20:14 you know, but like I would never go to somebody and be like, I can't get my workout in. That makes no sense to me. And then Camille crying when Alyssa came in and she's like, just leave the room. Just go. Like, what are you doing? Like, but also in that scene, I'm like, Alyssa did not need to be in that room. She was in there to antagonize her. I'm, As somebody who hosts a quote unquote health and wellness podcast, what is your take on somebody insisting that they have to wake up objectively in the middle of the night to work out before a long day of already physically taxing work? Because this feels like I can't, I can't watch Tony work out at 4 a.m. anymore. I feel, okay, I feel for him. Like, I've never had a regiment
Starting point is 00:21:04 that, like, has made me be like, okay, this is the only way that I can serve. survive. And because that's how he feels, I'm like, maybe that's not the healthiest relationship with your wellness. Like, if you, like, cannot live, I actually, I don't know. But, like, it just doesn't seem, he doesn't seem mature. Like, he knows how to work on anybody else's schedule. And that's a problem in itself for boating. But then I guess they figured it out because Ross was like, okay, we'll just take him off nights. Like, he keeps crying. We'll just take him off nights.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Do you, where do you see this Camille and Alyssa thing ending? Are we, are they both getting fired after this latest blow up? I can't really decide, like, I feel like Camille, obviously, it's time to go. But like, Alyssa seems good at her job. She just loves talking shit to Camille. Yeah, and it's not even just talking shit to Camille because it would be one thing if she was like, like she is very like okay babe like we don't like telling you as much as you don't like hearing it but it was also very concerning when camille i think liked ross in the beginning and alissa was
Starting point is 00:22:17 like okay then i'm going to go after ross and it's like but then you can't be somebody's boss if we're still like treating this like high school that being said sandy hasn't seen anything elissa's done because camille is so brazen with what she does and unfortunately remi had some internet difficulties. So that is where we ended our conversation. But I was excited to get to talk about below deck this season. And there will be more below deck content coming up.
