Starting point is 00:00:28 See Store Online for details. Hey everyone, welcome back to the Mention at All podcast. We are officially in our new era of Vanderpump Rules. And so I am very excited to sit down with two of our central figures from the new season, Natalie McGuire and Marcus Johnson. Welcome to the show. How are you doing? Feeling good, man.
Starting point is 00:00:53 It's good to be in New York City. Good to be in New York. Everybody has seen the premiere as this is coming out. But we are talking on Premier Day. So in just a few hours, lots of people are going to watch and start to form. opinions and processing it trying it's crazy what is it like feeling feeling of like you know you you maybe know what you filmed you remember some of it yeah and now it's like you know several months later you've done your interviews you know it's ready to go but like the world is kind of just about to like
Starting point is 00:01:25 get a taste i mean i kind of feel like i'm right there with them like seeing all the things that i wasn't there for yeah i'm sat too sometimes i'm like what yeah right seeing everyone else else when you weren't filming. Yeah, for sure. I think that from talking to a lot of people, I think that's maybe the most strange thing to kind of get used to of being on a show like this is like, oh yeah, there's like, people are supposed to be talking about me when I'm not there and I just have to like live with that
Starting point is 00:01:51 and find out later and watch it back. Yeah, it's not the watching myself back that like makes me feel crazy. It's like watching the other parts. I will say watching this premiere, I feel like for a new group of reality TV cast members. You guys seem very comfortable in your own skin, like across the board, it seems to me. Yes.
Starting point is 00:02:12 I think every person that works there is like a character of a person. You know what I mean? Like we're all pretty comfortable with who we are. We know there's like, you know, there's a lot of sides to us. And we kind of hold a mirror to each other all the times and just like our regular lives.
Starting point is 00:02:29 So it's like it's not that unusual right now to kind of like have everyone else doing it. Yeah. We're also so comfortable at Sir. I mean, like you said, it's like our playground. Your words, not mine. But no, I mean, it's just like, that's our place
Starting point is 00:02:42 where there's so much of every single week that, you know, we were in our safe place. Yeah, I think like with, obviously, Vanderpump Rules is an iconic show and was on for, you know, has been on for many seasons. And like, I think people forget sometimes that whatever was happening on Vanderpump Rules over the last decade plus,
Starting point is 00:03:00 like there have always been people working at Sir every single day. Yeah. And whether it's, not, you know, the show started out being more about that and then kind of migrated into other things, but like there have always been people just like
Starting point is 00:03:13 showing up for their shifted sur. And it felt really refreshing watching the premiere that it's like, oh, we're just like, it's just like a shifted sir. We're just like back in the thick of it. Right? Like the whole original premise. Yeah. Because, you know, people of course fell in love with the original group, but the premise is also
Starting point is 00:03:29 so real. Like everyone that works in a restaurant has their own group. Like, I've worked in restaurants for years And that's how I got to know what the show was because I was having my own like, dramas at other jobs. And I was like, isn't there a show about this? You know? Like, this is so relatable. Yeah, and it's been like nominated for Emmys.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Right. What was it like kind of obviously you guys were working at Serb before the new, you know, Vanderpump iteration came about. What was it like kind of going through like, okay, there's this iconic show that started here. but then now they're, you know, re-shifting it into something new. And like, do I want to, am I going to be like on that? Like, what was that kind of process like of realizing like, oh, this could be my thing now? I never thought that.
Starting point is 00:04:16 You know, it's so funny because in my other bartending jobs, people want to know where you're from and all about you. And this was my first job where people were asking about the cast members and Lisa. It was like, I finally got a break from talking about myself for a couple years. So I never thought, you know, when there's such an established show, group, you know, I never saw any of our places in that. We were like, we're like really actually like, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:40 trying to pay our bills and working in restaurants and they're like, you know, having podcasts and kids and like so different place in life than us. Yeah. I mean, for me, I just thought it was cool to work there why they were like filming. Yeah. I was just like really just serving and they're just like, I'm seeing like all the other, the old cast. I'm like, damn, they're really, they're really shooting a show.
Starting point is 00:04:59 It's like, you're at work and it sucks to like be a server. but it's cool to like be a server at a place that looks like a movie set. You know what I mean? It's like at least if I'm going to be, you know, just waiting tables, it might as well be somewhere like this, you know? What was it like?
Starting point is 00:05:13 I imagine whatever the day was that sort of the news first broke or there was the idea that the show would be. I like remember the exact date. It was such a crazy day. I mean, there must have been like a chill in the air of like, wait, what's they're going to read.
Starting point is 00:05:28 100%. I was in full denial. Like this is never happening. Everyone's stopping like, you know, speculating. It's not happening. Because there was like whispers of it before it happened. Right. Germo was saying that, you know, like, you know, they might bring it back to the restaurant,
Starting point is 00:05:42 this and then. We were just like, you know, I mean, we work here, so that'd be cool, you know. Yeah, I remember waking up being like, oh. I feel like the group chats must have really been like popping that day. I think we got on a group FaceTime and we were all like, okay. Yeah. So for the two of you, I'm curious, was it kind of the idea of that coming into your lives? was it something that you were open to from the start of like this is a great opportunity or
Starting point is 00:06:06 I mean it's a double-edged sort of like you're opening up your life to a lot of people watching and having opinions and things. Did you have to sort of like talk yourself into doing it at all or was it like yeah whatever let's go? I think for me I've always been a super open person and just like free flowing just whatever happens happens and you know in Hollywood you know a lot of different opportunities will come your way and you kind of just got to just go. with it if it happens for you. So I always looked at us like, you know, if this is something that's going to happen, it must be meant to be right now. It's so random. So like it's got to be there for a reason. So it's just like, why not? You know, it's a cool opportunity. Yeah. Yeah, totally. I mean,
Starting point is 00:06:43 I think like, why would you say no? And I was thinking earlier, like, it would have been so hard to be working at Sir while they were filming and not be like involved in the conversation with my real friends. Like having to like stay out of it is something I don't know how to do. You're constantly just going to be like Even if I wasn't chosen to be on it I would have been like She would have been on it I have to say something
Starting point is 00:07:05 Like there were kind of Yeah like in the in the older seasons There were sometimes those people where it's like Oh they've never been like technically on the show But like everybody knows who this person is Like it's I feel like You know as you're spending more time there It's like you start to kind of like figure out like
Starting point is 00:07:20 Okay like this person isn't like on the show But like you can tell that they kind of like run shit in the background And like you know Some of us are on this show But we also have so many friends that we work with that we are like involved with every single day that aren't like that's just what sir is so you might see some of those people you know yeah and i think that was part of what worked so well in the first you know era let's say and i think you can sense kind of the the bones of that in
Starting point is 00:07:44 the premiere of your of your season too of like this is a group of people that have you know intricate relationships in each other's lives and some of it's positive and some of it's maybe in between and Some of it's maybe negative. And like that those things are, we're not creating these dynamics on day one of filming. It's like this is something that started, you know, two or three or whatever years ago. I mean,
Starting point is 00:08:08 even when it came to my suspension, I was like thanking God it was before filming. And then we're pulling up surveillance footage. I was wondering, okay, I was watching the premiere, I'm like, have we ever rolled security tapes at Sir on Van derrick Peltros before?
Starting point is 00:08:23 I really would be the one. And you too. They called both of us. Yeah, they were, I mean, I kind of love it. In the trenches with the video. Like that one of those videos were so clear too.
Starting point is 00:08:32 I'm like, that camera's right there. I do see it. But I didn't realize that it saw me the way it did. You know what I mean? Like this thing really is like in HD. They can really see what I'm doing on here. He's a good quality camera.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Now we know though. My stepdad keeps freaking out about his bald spot in the surveillance footage. He keeps, what do you say to you? He said like an autograph his head. That's my God. I do think it's so in the first episode, we come and you are returning from your suspension after you had an issue with your ex and also.
Starting point is 00:09:01 I just want to say I was off the clock. I can't believe I got suspended. Yes, it was your night off and you did choose to come to sir. We're always there. She did that on purpose. She came there to handle some business that day. I actually did not. I did not, but I can't help myself.
Starting point is 00:09:16 When I see an opportunity, I do take it, you know? And as you see, I'm blocked. And unfortunately, it was the only place for me to communicate. She knew he was there. She checked the schedule. She was like, okay, I'll see. I'll see your ass. seven tonight.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I am curious. So just for a little bit of context. So your ex is not on the show, or at least we haven't seen him. You know, some people don't want to share their life. What was kind of the timeline of like how recent was the breakup situation? Only like two or three months. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:44 So this is something you're still kind of working through in your life. And then obviously there's the added layer of Demi, also, you know, sharing an X. And X is a strong word. X is for Demi. Yeah. Okay. I do feel like we're getting some mixed signals from her in the premiere of like she says you don't have an issue, but then she's also bringing up the issue. Literally, I'm right there with you.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Yeah. And, you know, as a girl that was going through a breakup, like, I needed my girls to like ride that crazy experience with me and like pick me up when I was down. And I feel like they just kind of did the opposite, you know? And so my gaze saved me. All my clothes and people are like going to hold it down. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you'll see, you know. But yeah. So the timeline or what?
Starting point is 00:10:33 Where are we going with that? Sorry, I was just, I was curious kind of like how fresh that situation is. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not when there's, when we're like meeting you all for the first time, it feels like there's a lot of like pieces to the puzzle. Oh, yeah, yeah. It was so fresh. And so I'm like, you guys, I'm not just like, I'm going through something. That's why you said in my confession.
Starting point is 00:10:50 I'm going through it right now. Yeah. And mind you, when her and Paolo would break up, I mean, they still. literally worked right next to each other at the bar. At the bar. It's not even like we have the freedom of the restaurant. Just ignoring each other or literally right next to each other. And we would just like.
Starting point is 00:11:06 And I'd be like, you need anything? We would sit there and like talk about Natalie right in front of her face. I'd be like, what was that? What was that? You're just like selective listening. No, it's like, you know, bartender ears. You hear everything. You hear the people in front of you having a conversation.
Starting point is 00:11:21 I hear Marcus and my ex talking about me. Like, how can you not say it? Hey, I hear you. Well, because, I mean, for so many people, it's like bumping into their ex would be, like, traumatic. And when you're, like, stuck in that position. Yeah, and also, like, our relationship didn't end out of lost love. You know, we had a big age difference and just, you know, it just wasn't working, even though we really loved each other. Yeah.

Both of you are, you know, kind of on the receiving end of some of Lisa's frustrations, let's say, in this first episode. I imagine, you know, we've watched a lot of sir staff meetings and sit downs with Lisa in the past. I don't feel like that conversation ever gets, like, easy to have with Lisa. I came to that meeting thinking that I was about to watch Natalie get reamed.
Starting point is 00:13:33 I was like so ready. I was just like, this is going to be good. I got reamed in private. Thank you. I didn't really, yeah. In private. In the VIP room. I was like, oh, this is about me.
Starting point is 00:13:42 You really got put on blast. I know. That was scary. I was so surprised. I was like, damn. And she, she, I knew something was a little off when I came and I was like, what's up, Lisa? She was just like, hmm.
Starting point is 00:13:51 I was just like, okay. It was terrifying. Rough day. Well, because watching the episode, I mean, the, the conversation that she had with Natalie about, like, the, you know, how difficult it's been over the last few. years and since COVID, the restaurant industry. Yeah, that's real. I think you could tell that maybe more than you would realize, like, in the moment,
Starting point is 00:14:11 like, there's kind of a lot of stuff behind maybe the way she's feeling about, I don't know, just life or business or whatever. Yeah, I mean, so many restaurants have closed and amazing restaurants. Like, such good restaurants are closing. And it's beautiful, amazing food, great drinks. And it's just, it's crazy what's going on in West Hollywood. Yeah. I do think like with with Vanderpump rules, obviously it's turned sir into this
Starting point is 00:14:35 destination that's way bigger than just like a you know restaurant lounge in in WeHo. But I think there is kind of this I imagine there's this pressure with the season that it's like, okay, like we we got to like keep this institution going. You know, I think the cool thing about Sir is even if you're not someone who's like going to go out to eat all the time or you're not like a restaurant goer, it's like going to like Disney land or something like that. It's like you've seen this thing on TV and you've, you know, seeing this guy and that guy and it's like coming there and personally like, wow, this, it is a real restaurant actually, you know what I mean? It's like, I think that's helped
Starting point is 00:15:11 us. No, we are there to work. Like, it's like, wow, Peter Magical works here every day. Yeah. He's always sitting over there by the bar taking selfies. I do wonder like how how did you guys kind of handle that, you know, pressure of expectation going into the season of like this is a iconic show were the new guard. Like was that something you were thinking about at all? Or did you talk about that as a group at all? I think it was exciting because we are such an organic group. And we really don't need much help.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Like, you know, creating like anything interesting to watch. We're just interesting to watch all the time. So much has always been happening since I've worked there for four years. Yeah. It's always been a show, even if there's no show. You know what I mean? It's like, it literally was like. There's something to follow every day.
Starting point is 00:16:00 You know what I mean? And they just, you picked up on what was happening. So we didn't. My favorite is when I don't work at serve one night and then I get a call explaining to me what happened that night. Like this is what you miss tonight. Right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:16:11 You're like, no, I still need the, I need the 4-1-1. Yeah, no, we're trying to keep up every day. Yeah. And I think also like when, because it's a show that it revolves around you guys working and this like part of your lives, it's like you're not trying to figure out like, oh, what should we do today? Like we need to film something. It's like, no, we're just like back at work and it's all, it's all unfolding.
Starting point is 00:16:35 If anything, it was like, okay, let's not crash out today. It's like, there are cameras up here like, let's try to be a little normal. You know what I mean? But it's just like, we're just not. We're just not normal. Well, I mean, that first, that first night in the premiere, you know, there's some some crashing out, I would say going on between you guys with Kim and she has an issue with the, you know, the relationship that you guys have.
Starting point is 00:16:57 What was it like kind of like tackling that right off the bat and if there's any update on that? I mean, I thought it sucked for sure. It's like here I was kind of in agreement on some level with with Natalie because in my opinion, we are friends. And we do have an innocent friendly relationship to now be kind of have to like go against my girlfriend's opinion. It's like it sucked for me because I was like, I love you. I want to be on your side. but I kind of don't agree with what you're saying. And then, you know, Kimberly's, she's a Long Island, New Yorker, and she's fiery.
Starting point is 00:17:34 And when she gets on that level, it's kind of you just got to like, just avoid it. Yeah. So it sucked for me. I was surprised because it wasn't like something that was always an issue. It was kind of popped up just based on like a couple select conversations that we had were like turned into like something inappropriate when they were really just innocent conversation. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:55 So now, like, I have kind of walked on eggshells with the both of them. And I, like, I wish I didn't have to. But, you know, I think we're working on it, all three of us. I did get a kick out of the idea that, like, a photo of heels is, like, a man's top fantasy. There's no photo of heels. Oh, I love high-heel photos. Let's clear it up, like, no high heels. She was proud that she had gotten a good pair of heels.
Starting point is 00:18:21 And I must have roasted her shoes, like, a couple nights ago. Okay. So she was kind of like, I got some new. heels and that kind of thing. That is close. No, what happened was I was wearing some dirty boots bartending and he said, I feel like you have a strong boot game. And I said, I do. What I see, I remember things, receipts. Mental receipts. Yeah. There you go. I said, I do have a pretty good boot game. But what I don't have is a good heel game. And he said, Kimberly was in a sorority and she has so many
Starting point is 00:18:46 heels. And I was like, I really need to work on that. So I told him like the next thing he said, I bought a pair of heels. Yay. But no photo ever. No photo. It was too peasant. It was too peasant. photo shoot of you and some heels. I said like, I got heels. And then he responded a clapping, like, gift. And that was it. That's it. So there's no photo and there's no good morning text or texts.
Starting point is 00:19:07 I think for me, what happened, me and Natalie was in a long relationship before. And, you know, I knew Natalie, but we weren't tight. You know what I mean? We were getting to know each other. Once she broke up with Paolo, she started to be. I was going home with my man every night and they were going out, you know. So I was missing those nights. you could see that like, okay, those two are going to get along.
Starting point is 00:19:29 You know, they got a lot in common. And I think that's the time it was happening. Our friendship was like really blossoming. Yeah. So it was just like, it was weird for a lot of people to kind of understand. Yeah. I think also like when you're in, you know, close quarters, like working in a restaurant or like, obviously now you're on the show together.
Starting point is 00:19:47 It's an additional layer that it's like those relationships are really specific. And like you can relate to people in those scenarios in ways that. other people in your life might not be able, you know, you might not be able to text like your friend from home about something specific about like filming or working at Sir or the restaurant or, you know, like there's kind of those things. I mean, we're in the same everyday life. Exactly. And the thing with Marx and I is we have like the same sense of humor. So that's just what I guess offended everyone. Yeah. Say what's on our mind all the time. We're both really funny and talk a lot. Like when I see Natalie crashing out, everyone else sees like a psychomaniac. And I see someone who's just like,
Starting point is 00:20:23 just having a misunderstood in the moment. You know what I mean? It's really not that bad. You're like, I'm sure there's a list of reasons why she's in the right. The night when she did when she got kicked out, what they don't show is me, because we were full me. But see, we were out front. We were out front of the restaurant and I was, I was helping her not lose her job.
Starting point is 00:20:44 What was your opinion on how the Shane Davis situation was portrayed in that first episode? Because like he brought a girl to the restaurant. He had previously said he wouldn't. Like, I think it was fair of you to bring that. up. Yeah, and I was like, by the way, when he told me he wouldn't, I said, you can. And he said, no, that's way too messy. I would never do it.
Starting point is 00:21:02 So I'm like, I literally told you could do it. And you like, were so like, I'm not going to do it. And then you did it. So now I'm annoyed. Right. It's like, this wouldn't have been a thing if you didn't create it. If you just brought a girl and I would have been like, oh, hey, who are you? Hi, Natalie.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Like, we literally had only been talking for like this long. I feel that. It's like, don't call me crazy. It's the principle. I'm holding you to your own. Yeah. Unstable. I said takes one to no one.
Starting point is 00:21:25 I still see some promise there. Deep down, there's still something will linger in there for sure. Okay. I think so. Okay. My boy Shane Davis. He's praying.
Starting point is 00:21:34 I'd like them together. A handsome guy. Oh yeah. He's definitely handsome. That's why I was talking. I don't, I talk to handsome tall men. Only. Please.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Come on. Well, you know, I also like personality, but he's nice to look at. This episode is brought to you by Prime. Obsession is in session. And this summer. I'm curious for you guys, like, once you kind of got into the experience of doing the show and you were with, you know, the whole group, what was kind of was there anything that surprised you about the process of doing it or maybe if anybody in particular surprised you kind of the way that they showed up
Starting point is 00:23:39 on the show versus off the show I mean I didn't realize how how much you would have to face your problems like right away you know what I mean you're just like you can't just like ignore somebody for a long time just like not deal with it you can't let things sit
Starting point is 00:23:55 you don't have time but yeah some people Some people kind of like, you know, took different. The thing is, as the show started filming, it kind of like was at a tumultuous point for the group. Like rock bottom as a group. Totally rock bottom. So people were here taking sides, you know what I mean? And sometimes people took sides that I wasn't expecting him to. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:16 I think I was so surprised by Kimberly because I had this friendship with her and she was this, like, kind of soft-spoken girl, even though she's from New York. You know, she was like, soft-spoken. No, that's hilarious to me to hear. I've never described her as soft-spoken. That's how she was with me, I swear. Right, like you, yeah. Then took a total turn, and I was like, I didn't know she had it in her. She was like coming for me, like, I've never seen.
Starting point is 00:24:45 Like coming into my personal space and screaming in my face. And I was like, oh my God, I didn't know she was like this, but I was kind of like, I love it. She's like, I do that too. I want her to do it to someone else. I respect it, but I'm like. I don't want to be the target. Yeah, I was like, I've never seen this from you. Like, go off, but like at someone else.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Okay, let's find a common at me. And also like, okay, here's the thing. Everyone likes to say I can't be accountable. I can totally be accountable. I just like, I wasn't trying to come for her man. So I was like, no, we're not going to do that. Right. If I did something wrong, I would, I could, I could.
Starting point is 00:25:16 You're actually really good at that. You could someday. You're really good. But you know what? I saw Shane say that I don't know how to be wrong. And I actually do. In the moment. So the thing is, you might be talking to Natalie.
Starting point is 00:25:26 And when she's, when she's going, it's gone, it's over. But tomorrow you could call her, she'll be like, Yeah. You're so right. I was wrong about that. Okay. I think that's important, though, because especially when you're working at a restaurant with everyone and when you're on a show with everyone, it's like, you do have to have that
Starting point is 00:25:43 conversation the next day. You can't just go a month without seeing them. If we could all handle things in the moment perfectly and calmly, it would be a great little fantasy world. It would be a terrible show. And it's not, it would be terrible show. But you know what? We're all like that. It's not just me, Natalie.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Everyone has emotional reactions. It's not just me. Totally. People like to say it's just me and I live in my own world. I don't know. That's fine. Well, you know, you got to give like good interview sound bites and everything. Like you have to have a little bit of fun with yourself.
Starting point is 00:26:12 You know, I'm really good at talking. Getting an acting degree, it's like mostly just talking. So I got a degree in that. And here I am. I love that. And you're also, you're singing. Yeah, singing, acting, and singing. Were you like totally?
Starting point is 00:26:26 down to show off that part of yourself, like, so quick into the process? Or was that, like, intimidating that it's like... I mean, no, I was really in the middle of creating music. And, you know, I'm so in the beginning stages of it. Like, I'm not these pop stars that are out here having world tours. I'm writing music for the first time. But I think you have to start somewhere. And I can only hope that, you know, one day I can work with people and collaborate with artists that I've looked up to and I'm just kind of getting started, you know? She could actually really sing, like, really sing well. That's really nice.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Well, I think also it's like when you're pursuing an opportunity or something that you want to do and you're on a show, like, there are going to be people who are like, that's embarrassing that she wants to sing. And it's like, if you want to do it, you can't be embarrassed. And also, like, it's, everyone has their opinion, whatever. Some people are going to like it. Some people aren't. It's, it was everything.
Starting point is 00:27:20 It's universal. I'm curious because you guys are so fresh to the reality TV game. Have you gotten any advice or talk to anyone, whether it's from another show or just like someone in your life that's kind of helped you like figure out how to process how this is going to go? I think the best advice I've got was probably from Lisa, obviously. That's the best person to get advice from. And it's just truly like, I know it sounds cliche, but just be yourself because you could try to paint a picture how you want to be perceived and people are still going to hate you. Some people are going to love you, some people hate you. If there's people out there that don't like me, at least they don't like me,
Starting point is 00:27:55 for me. You know what I mean? Like I'm not trying to put on a persona or anything like that. So the easiest thing you could do is just be yourself. You know what I mean? Just don't, don't hide. You know. Yeah, she said something else that I loved us recently, which is like you don't need to hide your problems or like be perfect. Like, you know, put that out there. Like be honest about what you're going through. Don't cover up, you know, real stuff. Yeah. Because everybody, even the critics, yeah, everyone's going through shit in their life. You know what I mean? Yeah, I don't know how much, like, how much you guys are like in the like Bravo world or whatever, like watching things. But it's like people love the characters on their shows that are like going through something messy and, you know, kind of struggling to get it together.
Starting point is 00:28:38 There's so much on Bravo too. There's broken engagements. There's familial issues. Right. Like you're not going to be, you're not going to be like somebody that everyone dislikes because you, you know, how to break up or because you had a messy situation or your, you know, thing didn't go to plan. Like that, that's part of your story that people can put together in different ways. But like, it's not a negative thing to like not have it all together all the time. I mean, as a viewer, there's people, even specifically in Bravo that I've watched over the years and certain things have like comforted me.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Yeah. Like Lindsay Hubbard comes to mind. Oh, yeah. And I feel like she's like textbook like she's really been through those ups and downs. Don't activate me. But she's like really made it work for her. And now I feel like, you know, she's somebody where it's like, In 10 years, that's like a good path.
Starting point is 00:29:26 She's been through so much, but she is so strong and it seems like she's doing so amazing now. Like I'm obsessed with her. I love Summerhouse. Like, that's just, that's someone that I feel like, I love her. Once upon a time, Summerhouse kind of started as a Vanderpump Rules. Right. You're so right. That episode was crazy.
Starting point is 00:29:42 I've still never been to the Hamptons. I'm dying to go. Okay, maybe we can bring it full circle. Yeah, maybe. And you can bring it back to where it all started. I would support that. I will say I was at BravoCon a few weeks ago. when they showed like half of your premiere episode.
Starting point is 00:29:56 It was in the giant convention center ballroom. And, you know, there definitely were people who were like, there was kind of this sense of like curiosity that I think a lot of the stuff at BravoCon, it's like, I love this show, I love these people, I want to go see them in real life. And with Vanderpomperals, it's like, we've heard there. It's, it's new. We don't know what it's going to be, but they're like showing it to us. And you could sense in the room, like, as the episode was starting to play, like,
Starting point is 00:30:24 people were starting to laugh at the right moments. There was like a little bit of like that energy of people enjoying. And also like watching it with 2,000 people. It's just like fun to be together in a room like that. But I'm wondering like for you guys, obviously you weren't at BravoCon this year. Maybe maybe you'll have a lot of fun at a BravoCon in the future. Were you like aware that it was kind of being rolled out in that way?
Starting point is 00:30:47 Or did you get any reactions from that? Like you could see there's like a bunch of TikToks going around. Yeah. Like little moments or like my friends would send me. like little things that where they saw like a little something I said on there and it seemed like you know people were like kind of enjoying it you know yeah like giving it a chance you know so that was nice heard some good things got good feedback yeah I think with I mean with the audience it's like obviously people people are going to be like you know maybe skeptical at first or have questions or
Starting point is 00:31:14 be like is this going to be worth my time or whatever but I feel like it's like if you don't want you know you have to watch it you have to just like check it out and let it happen You're going to have to watch it to see whether what they think it's going to look like is what it really looks like. Well, that's what I feel like any, whenever there's like a new show or a new cast or anything, I'm just like, I'll watch it and see how it is. You know, like, it's, it's like making an opinion about something before you've seen it. I think the thing that's maybe driven me crazy is when people are like, they're trying so hard or it's this. And it's like, we ain't trying. You haven't even seen us yet.
Starting point is 00:31:47 What do you mean we're trying to. Well, also it's like, I mean, it's impossible to avoid comparison because the original show is iconic. it. Right. But like... And it is. When it's like, oh, so she wants to be Sheena? And it's like, nobody needs to want to be anyone. Exactly. It's like, really, really you want to be Sheena.
Starting point is 00:32:03 You know what I mean? You're just mad because I'm here right now, bitch, and you ain't. Fair enough. It's like, yeah, you know, people love these shows, but sometimes it's like, no, it's not your life. You can, like, sit back a little bit. You know, it's hard to actually get up there and do it. And you did it. Yeah, you did it. And people are going to want to.
Starting point is 00:32:23 watch it. Is there anything, you know, for this season, anything that you're really excited to watch back or to have people see, or maybe something that you're like dreading a little bit, being on the show? Kind of like, how are you feeling about this season now, like, playing out in front of the world? I'm obviously, me and my girlfriend have gone through a lot, and I'm a little, I'm, I know what happened, so I'm like, I'm scared to see it. But also it's like, we had so much fun. Like we went on a cool trip together and we all like had such a good time. I'm really excited for for that to be shown. It's like, because we are a family and we do love each other. And sometimes you might forget that within the fights and stuff. It's like, I'm excited to see us
Starting point is 00:33:05 have fun together. Yeah. Like I said, you know, I was at a rock bottom place in my personal life and I really needed support from my friends and I didn't really get that. And so it hurt twice as hard. you know, everything that I was experiencing at the time. So I am trying to mentally prepare to like relive that hurt because I've, you know, come out of it now, but now we're going back. So, you know, hearing my really good friends just not having it with me is going to be something I'm going to try to be strong about because I am sensitive. I am emotional.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Like I'm really trying to be strong. Yeah. I think it's like figuring out how to have that balance of like watching it, processing it, feeling what you need to feel, but also like not letting it take you back to a bad. And also not dealing with BS too. Like, you know, if you're going to be, you know, if you're going to go low, I'll meet you there. So. I think it'll be interesting too to see because you guys filmed when people hadn't seen you on the show before,
Starting point is 00:34:10 maybe you were in a little bit of a bubble. Whereas now when the show's airing, it'll be interesting to see how everybody kind of like, processes the spotlight a little bit. Yeah, I'm excited to see it with this cast. Like what people gravitate towards or like whose like little one-liners are gonna blow up, you know? Yeah, yeah, totally. The memes?
Starting point is 00:34:30 Oh my gosh. Even the memes that like Bravo posted are like the little, they were hilarious. Oh my God, it was so fun. I know. And I think that's the thing it's like that's, you know, with any like successful show, you're going to get that feedback and the memes and the good and the bad.
Starting point is 00:34:46 and you know, you just kind of like ride the wave. Yeah. I just think, yeah, I'm definitely not going to redo some old drama that I went through so much hell already. It's like, I'm not going to redo it just because you guys are seeing it for the first time. You know what I mean? It's like, even on the first episode, like, I didn't know that Kimberly was shitting on me when I got kicked out the meeting. I didn't know she was like literally the main person in there talking shit about me. And I was like, when am I going to now get mad at her?
Starting point is 00:35:10 Because five months ago she likes to. Reddance you have to pick your battles. Yeah. I did call her. I was like, oh, really? I guess it makes sense why Natalie and Venus were like not feeling me that day. It was you. But it's like, who cares?
Starting point is 00:35:22 Right. We already fought that out. Not everything can be like a huge deal. Yeah, for sure. Well, I'm excited for you guys. I'm excited for everyone to watch the season and I'll be watching right along with you. But thank you. All right.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Appreciate it. Thanks for having us. I think we mentioned it all. We did it. Thanks everyone for watching. Don't forget to rate, review, subscribe. And until next time, be cool. Don't be all like uncool.
Starting point is 00:35:53 Spring just slid into your DMs. Grab that boho look for that rooftop dinner, those sandals that can keep up with you, and hang some string lights to give your patio a glow up. Springs Calling Ross, work your magic. Betches.
